and political power has
shaped the destiny of our world.

that these empires were
written on the pages of prophecy

long before it was ever
written on the pages of history.

Testifying to the reality
that God knows the future.

nature of the two principles

contending for supremacy.

The two kingdoms that are
warring against each other,

know the nature of the two,

and upon his heads
the name of blasphemy.

composite beast kingdom.

Here we find the prophet Daniel

the rein of Babylon

he has a prophetic vision

and in his vision he
sees a windy seascape.

He sees four beasts,

four animals rise
up from the ocean,

from the waters
different from one another.

What exactly does this mean?

And so we find that in prophecy

a beast is a symbol of
a king and its kingdom.

nations to that animals.

What is the beast or the animal

that is a symbol of the
United States of America?

And so this is what God
is doing in this passage,

nations to that of beasts.

And so as Daniel
sees this windy seascape

and then four beast rise
up, what it simply means,

is that there is a
multitude of people

that are warring
against each other

and not of the wars rise
up four empires of prophecy.

These are the super powers

that would rein from Daniels day

to the last days.

the greatest teacher.

and these four beasts
represent the same thing.

foundational characteristics

for this end time super power.

for us to understand

the characteristics
of that final super power

the antichrist beast
kingdom in the last days,

we first have to understand
these foundational beasts

The first beast was like a
lion that had eagle's wings.

first was like a lion,

and had eagle's wings.
00:08:04.56\00:08:05.99
I beheld till the
wings thereof were plucked,

and it was lifted
up from the earth,

and made stand
upon the feet as a man,
00:08:09.19\00:08:11.35
and a man's
heart was given to it."

This lion with eagle's wings

that are standing upon its feet,

it is parallel
with the head of goad

of the image of Daniel 2,

representing the
golden kingdom of Babylon.

In fact, the Bible even
tells us in Jeremiah 50:43-44,

that Babylon was
likening unto a lion.

Notice what it
says, Jeremiah 50:43-44.

It says that
"The king of Babylon

shall come up as a lion."

And so this lion
with eagle's wings

represents the first
kingdom in our study tonight,

the Babylonian Empire.
00:08:45.86\00:08:47.53
This was the empire that
was ruling during Daniels time.
00:08:47.56\00:08:50.99
And the Bible
says that this lion
00:08:51.02\00:08:52.32
has two wings upon its back.
00:08:52.35\00:08:54.49
Now what do wings
represent in Bible prophecy?

We don't have to guess

because the
Bible explains itself.

In the Book of Habakkuk 1:6-8.

"Wings in Bible prophecy
represents speed and conquest."

And so this lion has two wings,

it was the symbol of
the spirit of conquest

and the speed that
the Babylonians had

in conquering the
entire then known world

during this time period.

And that's why it has
two wings on the back of it.

Who had Israel away? The lions.

This Nebuchadnezzar,

King of Babylon
have broken his bones.

So we find that
Babylon is like unto a lion

and it was this
kingdom that rocked

havoc against the Jewish nation,
00:09:46.40\00:09:48.25
the nation of Israel.

If you remember
this is the description

when the Babylonians came
and they destroyed Jerusalem.

They destroyed the
walls and the streets
00:09:55.44\00:09:57.03
and the holy sanctuary
00:09:57.06\00:09:58.80
and they slew
many of the Hebrews

and took many of them
as slaves in captivity

and that's why you find Daniel
as he's writing this prophecy,

he's in Babylon, the
Israelites have been enslaved

and brought into
captivity by the lion,

the lion had
scattered the sheep,

the Israelite nation.

notice the attitude

of King Nebuchadnezzar,
the lion kingdom.

In Daniel 4:30, the king spoke

and said, "Is not
this great Babylon
00:10:36.49\00:10:39.80
that I have built for
the house of the kingdom
00:10:39.83\00:10:43.59
by the might of my power,
00:10:43.62\00:10:46.39
and for the
honor of my majesty."

Here we find the
attitude of the king.

And the attitude
of the Babylonians
00:10:51.21\00:10:52.96
was that they were very proud.
00:10:52.99\00:10:54.11
Isn't that right? This
is my kingdom I did this.

Me, my, I, I.

Babylon, brothers and sisters,

was known for being a very proud
00:11:01.10\00:11:04.00
and a very rich kingdom.

And so when we
read in Revelation 13

that the antichrist
beast has the mouth of a lion,
00:11:10.03\00:11:12.48
it's because they
demonstrate the same pride
00:11:12.51\00:11:15.59
and the same riches
that Babylon display.
00:11:15.62\00:11:19.07
The composite
beast the antichrist,
00:11:19.10\00:11:21.19
displays the pride
and the riches of Babylon.
00:11:21.22\00:11:24.36
It is a very proud kingdom
00:11:24.39\00:11:26.07
that it's known for
having lots of wealth.
00:11:26.10\00:11:28.55
But the Bible tells us
that pride goes before a fall.

And that's the
reason why this kingdom,

the Babylonian
kingdom did not last forever.

Daniel saw that this lion
who had two wings is said that

the wings were
"plucked" from the lion.

Now if the wings
represent speed in conquest,

the plucking of the wings
simply represent that its power,
00:11:45.73\00:11:48.44
the spirit of conquest
that it once had would be
00:11:48.47\00:11:51.06
stripped from it as
it would be overcome

by another beast
power or another kingdom.

History tells us that
the Babylonian empire ruled

from 605 to 539 BC.

And then Daniel
saw another beast

rise up out of
the sea after that.

Let's take a look at the
second beast now in verse 5.

The Bible tells us that this
second beast was like a bear.

Notice what it says. Daniel 7:5.

"I behold another beast,
a second, like unto a bear,

and it raised up
itself on one side,

and it had three
ribs in the mouth of it

between the teeth of it,
and they said thus unto it,

Arise, and devour much flesh."

Here we find,
brothers and sisters,

that this bear
raised upon one side

is of the parallel
kingdom to the chest

and arms of silver

representing the
kingdom that would follow

the Babylonian kingdom

which is none other
than the Medo Persian Empire.

And in the
prophecy, Daniel saw the bear

raised up on one side

symbolizing an
imbalance of power.

And the reason why
it's because they had--

there was two kingdoms
that had to unite together

in order to overcome battle.

The Medes and Persians were two
separate kingdoms that united

and amongst the two the Persians
were stronger than the Medes

and that is symbolized

as the bear raised upon
one side an imbalance of power.

But what was the
principle characteristic

of the Medo Persian Empire?

You remember in
the Book of Esther,

the Persians were reigning
during this time period.

And you remember in Esther 3:13,

there was a man
whose name was Haman

that influenced
the king of Persia

to pass a law to persecute
00:13:31.76\00:13:35.19
or to eradicate
the people of God.

Do you remember that story?

Haman influenced the king
and the king passed the law
00:13:39.41\00:13:41.66
that could not be changed,
it could not be revoked,

it was a persecuting law.

This is one of the
principle characteristics

of the Persian
Empire passing laws

to persecute the people of God.

the Revelation 13,

this composite antichrist beast,

it has the feet of a bear

because it demonstrates
that same characteristic.

Here is the antichrist
kingdom that will pass laws

to persecute the people of God

making the war with the women

destroy the saints of God.

beast is like a leopard.

The Bible says "I was
envious of the boastful,

when I saw the
prosperity" of who?

So here is the Psalmist.

that the wicked are prospering.

He can't understand it

wicked and yet there is strong?

thinking about the wicked

prospering and he is baffled,

How could this be?

And, friends, when we study
about this little horn kingdom

and how they
prosper for so long.

The question comes
to us how could this be?

how long would
the wicked prosper?

they triumph seemingly

righteous people of God?

where is the throne?

and of the four beasts,

and in the midst of the elders,

stood a Lamb as
it had been slain."

This is the power of Jesus

triumphing over
evil and over sin,

as evil insisted the slain lamb.

The sacrifice of
