~ Amen. 00:06:20.34\00:06:22.24 What a beautiful song. 00:06:22.28\00:06:23.68 Good evening, everyone. 00:06:23.71\00:06:25.05 I know there are more of you than that. 00:06:26.41\00:06:27.75 - Good evening, everyone. ~ Good evening. 00:06:27.78\00:06:30.39 Glad to see your smiling faces. 00:06:30.42\00:06:32.32 I won't tell our viewing audience what night it is, 00:06:32.95\00:06:35.62 because it's a different time all over the world. 00:06:35.66\00:06:38.13 And you may not know that, but this is being seen 00:06:38.49\00:06:41.66 in Asia, the Caribbean, Australia, New Guinea. 00:06:42.93\00:06:47.47 You just name it, it's all over the world. 00:06:47.77\00:06:50.57 God has given us an opportunity to say hello 00:06:50.61\00:06:54.44 to those and welcome to those who are joining us 00:06:54.48\00:06:56.34 from all over the world. 00:06:56.38\00:06:57.71 This is Paradise Valley, Phoenix. 00:06:57.75\00:07:01.75 But tonight we're going to talk about abundant living. 00:07:02.68\00:07:05.32 And we want to ask for the Lord's blessing to be with us. 00:07:05.35\00:07:07.76 So as on each night, let's pray together. 00:07:08.36\00:07:11.69 Loving Father in heaven, thank You for the blessing 00:07:13.23\00:07:15.06 of abundant living. 00:07:15.10\00:07:16.43 And we pray tonight as we open Your Word 00:07:16.46\00:07:18.27 that yes, You'll open our hearts. 00:07:18.90\00:07:21.00 Send Your Holy Spirit, not only into this place, 00:07:21.04\00:07:23.71 but into the hearts and lives of all who are watching 00:07:23.74\00:07:26.37 and listening to this program. 00:07:26.41\00:07:27.91 And we pray for Jesus to be uplifted, 00:07:28.68\00:07:30.75 for the truth to be clear, 00:07:30.85\00:07:32.88 and for us to find an abundant relationship 00:07:32.98\00:07:35.78 with Christ, our Lord and Savior. 00:07:36.18\00:07:38.82 In Jesus' name we pray. Amen. 00:07:38.85\00:07:41.99 I don't know of anyone who doesn't want to be healthy. 00:07:43.02\00:07:45.99 I really don't. 00:07:46.39\00:07:47.73 People may not make that decision to be healthy 00:07:49.10\00:07:51.73 while they are in the prime of their lives, 00:07:51.83\00:07:54.14 but I've never visited anyone in the hospital 00:07:54.17\00:07:57.64 that said, "I wish I was more ill." 00:07:57.67\00:07:59.77 It's amazing how much we think about health 00:08:02.18\00:08:04.01 during the closing moments of our lives 00:08:04.05\00:08:05.95 or when something tragic happens that we are 00:08:05.98\00:08:07.98 no longer in control of. 00:08:08.02\00:08:09.75 That's why we have to remember that Jesus is 00:08:09.78\00:08:12.65 not only the Savior, but He wants to be 00:08:12.69\00:08:15.36 the Lord of our lives. 00:08:15.39\00:08:17.16 And the Lord of our lives is the one who is in charge. 00:08:17.26\00:08:21.06 The Landlord of our lives is the one who wants to 00:08:21.10\00:08:24.43 be in charge of our lives. 00:08:24.47\00:08:25.90 And He has a wonderful plan for every one of us. 00:08:26.13\00:08:28.80 So we need to understand a number of other reasons 00:08:28.90\00:08:32.11 why Jesus came. 00:08:32.14\00:08:33.48 Notice one of the reasons that He states 00:08:33.51\00:08:35.38 in the book of John 10:10. 00:08:35.64\00:08:38.21 Jesus said... 00:08:38.48\00:08:39.81 Today when we think about one of the greatest challenges, 00:08:54.93\00:08:57.50 not only in our nation, but around the world 00:08:57.53\00:09:00.44 is the health crisis. 00:09:00.47\00:09:02.67 There's always some kind of political controversy 00:09:03.14\00:09:06.78 or debate about health issues in America. 00:09:06.81\00:09:09.38 But what people don't realize is, many of the things 00:09:09.74\00:09:12.31 that affect our health are preventable if we simply 00:09:12.35\00:09:16.08 connect those things to lifestyle. 00:09:16.12\00:09:18.99 That's why I really appreciate Dr. Lela and all our health 00:09:19.02\00:09:21.52 presenters every evening. 00:09:21.56\00:09:22.99 They talk about ways... 00:09:23.02\00:09:24.36 These are not pre-programmed presentations. 00:09:24.39\00:09:26.70 But these are benefits to every one of us 00:09:26.90\00:09:29.86 if we would follow the plan that God established 00:09:29.96\00:09:33.03 from the very beginning. 00:09:33.07\00:09:34.67 When we go back to the Bible, we notice that God gave the best 00:09:35.10\00:09:38.17 health plan in the book of Genesis. 00:09:38.21\00:09:40.78 On the heels of creation, the Lord said... 00:09:41.91\00:09:43.58 Now we know, as we look back, God gave man what I call, 00:10:01.90\00:10:06.30 the optimum diet. 00:10:06.33\00:10:08.10 When we think about expensive cars... 00:10:08.67\00:10:10.41 And I don't own an expensive car. 00:10:10.51\00:10:12.04 As a matter of fact, the car that we rented 00:10:12.07\00:10:14.11 we had to put air in the tires on the way over here. 00:10:14.14\00:10:16.85 But whether it's a $5000 car a $100,000 car, 00:10:17.65\00:10:21.98 it comes with a manufacturer's warranty 00:10:22.22\00:10:25.12 and an owner's manual. 00:10:25.45\00:10:27.86 If we follow the owner's manual, as the manufacturer establishes, 00:10:28.09\00:10:32.19 then we know the warranty will not be void. 00:10:32.36\00:10:35.10 But if we ignore the warranty, 00:10:35.53\00:10:37.60 or ignore the manufacturer's manual, 00:10:37.80\00:10:40.90 which in fact for us is the Bible, 00:10:41.10\00:10:42.80 then the warranty could be voided. 00:10:43.00\00:10:45.21 If you put sugar in the gas tank, 00:10:45.47\00:10:47.38 and oil where the gas should be, and gas where the oil should be, 00:10:47.64\00:10:51.35 you could destroy the most expensive vehicle. 00:10:51.38\00:10:54.22 But the thing about that is you could replace a vehicle, 00:10:54.58\00:10:56.75 but you cannot replace your body once it breaks down. 00:10:56.79\00:11:00.29 So if we would treat, if we would give... 00:11:00.32\00:11:03.26 If you had a million dollar horse, would you give him 00:11:03.29\00:11:06.09 Fritos and Coca-Cola the night before his best race? 00:11:06.13\00:11:09.66 You really wouldn't. 00:11:10.90\00:11:12.23 You'll say, "He needs the best diet and sleep 00:11:12.27\00:11:15.07 in order to win the race the next day." 00:11:15.27\00:11:17.11 God wants us to win the race. 00:11:17.14\00:11:19.51 Can you say amen? 00:11:19.54\00:11:20.88 And we have to understand, when He created us 00:11:21.04\00:11:23.11 the reason why He gave us the kind of plan He did 00:11:23.14\00:11:25.95 is because each one of us is created in His image. 00:11:25.98\00:11:29.55 In other words, what amazes me is God put together 00:11:29.58\00:11:32.75 a fantabulous divine plan. 00:11:32.79\00:11:36.76 We are, as it were, made in the image. 00:11:36.79\00:11:41.86 When you think about it, from the Creator's hand 00:11:41.90\00:11:44.50 God meticulously carved us out, put everything in us 00:11:44.53\00:11:48.90 we would need, and then He gave us 00:11:48.94\00:11:51.37 His image to reflect. 00:11:51.57\00:11:53.44 Notice how Genesis 1:27 says this. 00:11:53.48\00:11:56.28 And when I think of the fascinating capability 00:12:07.36\00:12:09.99 of the mind, think of the things that man can create. 00:12:10.03\00:12:12.96 I mean, we can come up with... 00:12:13.33\00:12:14.76 If you look at all this equipment and all these 00:12:14.80\00:12:16.77 cameras, and all the wireless devices we have today, 00:12:16.80\00:12:19.87 that's what man can conceive. 00:12:19.90\00:12:21.90 We've got an intellect that's not coincidental, 00:12:21.94\00:12:25.17 did not happen by happenstance, 00:12:25.37\00:12:27.44 but it happened by a plan that is phenomenal. 00:12:27.48\00:12:31.51 Tonight let me walk you through something that may amaze you, 00:12:31.91\00:12:34.95 as it amazed me, when I talked about just one of the most 00:12:34.98\00:12:37.95 simplistic aspects of why the human body functions 00:12:37.99\00:12:41.82 so magnificently. 00:12:41.86\00:12:43.49 Something called, DNA. 00:12:43.53\00:12:45.36 Deoxyribonucleic Acid. 00:12:46.26\00:12:51.73 Say that together with me. Deoxyribonucleic Acid. 00:12:51.77\00:12:55.77 Now that you've swallowed your tongue, you can listen. 00:12:55.80\00:12:58.64 DNA; we all know this as DNA. 00:12:59.61\00:13:02.54 And I'm not a doctor, but information is available today. 00:13:02.58\00:13:06.25 And when I studied what I did and learned what I did 00:13:06.28\00:13:08.82 about DNA, my mind was captured. 00:13:08.85\00:13:13.15 Now I don't want to be a doctor. 00:13:13.72\00:13:15.39 I praise God for doctors. 00:13:15.42\00:13:17.33 But the Doctor of doctors of doctors is Jesus Christ. 00:13:17.49\00:13:21.16 And notice the machine that He made. 00:13:21.50\00:13:24.60 Let's look at DNA. 00:13:24.63\00:13:25.97 Some facts about DNA. 00:13:27.07\00:13:28.94 Every animal has DNA, every plant has DNA. 00:13:42.28\00:13:45.92 Everything God created has a DNA code. 00:13:46.02\00:13:49.69 Let's keep going. 00:13:50.03\00:13:51.36 One percent. 00:14:09.88\00:14:11.95 And they'll say, there is no chance in 99 million, 00:14:13.18\00:14:17.09 or 1.6 billion, or whatever the numbers are, 00:14:17.12\00:14:20.62 they'll narrow it down so much they'll say, 00:14:20.66\00:14:22.36 "There's no way that you could not have been there. 00:14:22.39\00:14:25.13 Because this matches your DNA." 00:14:25.59\00:14:28.96 You've heard that before. 00:14:29.00\00:14:30.33 But let's look at something else fascinating. 00:14:30.50\00:14:32.23 That's why whenever there's a question about 00:14:36.84\00:14:38.67 who the parent is, they say, "Let us take a DNA test." 00:14:38.71\00:14:43.61 Because God put a signature in there 00:14:43.65\00:14:46.61 that you cannot hide. 00:14:46.65\00:14:48.55 You may have seen some of these shows about crimes that 00:14:48.78\00:14:51.42 were committed like 20 years ago, or before DNA, 00:14:51.45\00:14:54.42 and they go and exhume the body and they take little samples, 00:14:54.82\00:14:57.89 like even from ashes. 00:14:58.03\00:15:00.33 I was amazed, I saw one where they took ashes of somebody 00:15:00.46\00:15:03.43 that has been cremated shortly after the crime 00:15:03.73\00:15:06.37 because the person perpetrating it thought 00:15:06.53\00:15:08.40 if you burn them up, you can't find out about it. 00:15:08.44\00:15:11.47 But in the ashes was preserved molecular chemical compositions 00:15:11.51\00:15:17.68 that identified that, even that body after being burned up, 00:15:17.98\00:15:22.95 it still maintained that DNA code in the ashes. 00:15:22.98\00:15:26.15 Isn't that amazing? 00:15:26.72\00:15:28.06 Let's keep going. 00:15:28.12\00:15:29.46 I know your head is hurting. 00:15:44.41\00:15:45.74 I know that. I understand that. 00:15:45.77\00:15:47.18 I mean, this is fascinating to me. 00:15:47.54\00:15:49.48 So when a doctor stands before me and they take lab, 00:15:49.51\00:15:55.15 you know, they say, "We've got the lab results." 00:15:55.18\00:15:57.55 I look at the long list of lab results. 00:15:57.92\00:16:01.06 How much blood I have, how much my iron is. 00:16:01.42\00:16:05.23 And you know, all the other things that they get. 00:16:05.26\00:16:06.96 I'm fascinated. 00:16:07.00\00:16:08.33 And they find that out with just little drops of blood. 00:16:08.36\00:16:11.90 God is amazing, is He not. 00:16:13.17\00:16:14.94 Since I'm fascinating you, let me keep it up. 00:16:15.90\00:16:18.07 Now I just introduced a phrase you may not know. 00:16:34.72\00:16:36.49 The human genome. 00:16:36.52\00:16:37.96 Let's look at this. What is the human genome? 00:16:37.99\00:16:39.86 So when that DNA is working, it is saying, 00:16:55.11\00:16:58.85 "Do this. Don't do that." 00:16:58.88\00:17:00.55 "Don't do that. Do this." 00:17:01.15\00:17:02.48 And by the way, this is one of the reasons why 00:17:02.52\00:17:04.32 when I spoke to a person that was an atheist, 00:17:04.35\00:17:06.39 and I talked to him about DNA. 00:17:06.42\00:17:08.19 And then science has verified that all of the components 00:17:08.22\00:17:12.63 needed to build a cell had to be present at the same exact time. 00:17:12.66\00:17:19.07 They could not be present a year later 00:17:19.30\00:17:21.80 or a million years later. 00:17:21.84\00:17:23.17 They could not evolve. 00:17:23.20\00:17:24.54 For that organism to come into being, 00:17:24.57\00:17:26.74 every enzyme needed had to be present at the very same time. 00:17:26.78\00:17:30.48 Amen? 00:17:30.51\00:17:31.85 Think about it. 00:17:32.61\00:17:33.95 How many of you like cabbage? 00:17:33.98\00:17:35.32 Well you should like cabbage more after I tell you 00:17:36.62\00:17:38.65 the very next statistic. 00:17:38.69\00:17:40.36 ...common DNA. 00:17:47.00\00:17:48.33 That may explain why we think the way we do. 00:17:48.36\00:17:50.97 Not any other thing, not any other vegetables. 00:17:55.10\00:17:57.31 We are all cabbage heads somehow, somewhere. 00:17:57.34\00:18:00.51 But when you think about this magnificent statistic, 00:18:00.54\00:18:03.68 I understand why David the psalmist said, 00:18:03.71\00:18:05.65 read this with me, Psalm 139:14... 00:18:05.68\00:18:07.95 I mean, we've all had injuries at one point or the other. 00:18:20.63\00:18:23.06 You get a cut, and in a matter of time the body says, 00:18:23.80\00:18:27.14 "Fix that." 00:18:27.17\00:18:28.50 So it sends all the white blood cells, 00:18:28.77\00:18:31.37 it sends an army of physicians to that spot, 00:18:31.41\00:18:34.61 and in a matter of time it closes up, the blood clots. 00:18:34.64\00:18:37.85 And in a matter of days you start saying, 00:18:37.88\00:18:39.61 "Well, I feel pretty good." 00:18:39.65\00:18:41.85 Even though a scar may remain, the body is programmed 00:18:42.05\00:18:45.79 in such a way that it preserves itself. 00:18:45.82\00:18:48.22 That's why when you are about to die 00:18:48.26\00:18:50.29 there are certain things that happen. 00:18:50.33\00:18:51.66 And when you have a trauma, all of a sudden this adrenaline 00:18:51.69\00:18:54.20 boost comes in because the body says, 00:18:54.23\00:18:55.90 "We need help." 00:18:55.93\00:18:57.43 And God did that. 00:18:58.93\00:19:00.50 That could not have been a coincidence. 00:19:00.60\00:19:02.90 But let's think about the most important factor 00:19:03.57\00:19:05.67 of why our bodies really don't belong to us. 00:19:05.81\00:19:09.14 Paul the apostle says in 1 Corinthians 6:19-20... 00:19:10.25\00:19:13.52 When we think about that fact, when we think about this 00:19:33.87\00:19:37.31 magnificent Designer... 00:19:37.34\00:19:38.97 The guy that made Ford, or Tesla, or Porsche, 00:19:39.34\00:19:42.64 they often talk about these inventors, and we say, 00:19:43.01\00:19:45.45 "It's an honor to meet you," the man that made Porsche, 00:19:45.48\00:19:48.52 "It's an honor to meet you," the man that made 00:19:48.55\00:19:50.49 the Shelby engine for Ford. 00:19:50.52\00:19:52.09 We feel honored to meet that individual. 00:19:52.49\00:19:54.76 But they die off and pass away. 00:19:54.79\00:19:57.13 And somebody else comes along with a better invention. 00:19:57.16\00:19:59.53 But nobody has been able to come up with a better invention 00:19:59.56\00:20:02.86 than the human body. 00:20:02.90\00:20:04.23 And the Maker, by the way, He's still alive. 00:20:05.60\00:20:08.20 So we have to abandon this idea that we belong to ourselves. 00:20:09.67\00:20:15.98 When you think about all the things like Brussels sprouts, 00:20:16.01\00:20:19.15 and watercress, and spinach, you'll discover also 00:20:19.18\00:20:25.12 that after sin entered in the world, before sin entered 00:20:25.22\00:20:28.96 we were primarily fruits, grains, and nuts. 00:20:28.99\00:20:31.99 Before sin entered the world. 00:20:32.53\00:20:33.86 After sin entered the world the bitter herb was added. 00:20:33.90\00:20:37.40 That's why some people don't like 00:20:37.43\00:20:38.77 certain kinds of vegetables. 00:20:38.97\00:20:40.30 They say, "Ugh." 00:20:40.34\00:20:41.67 They don't like the way it tastes. 00:20:41.70\00:20:43.04 It was not a part of the original diet. 00:20:43.07\00:20:44.71 But when you think about the time of the flood, 00:20:44.97\00:20:46.84 you'll discover also, in preparation for 00:20:46.88\00:20:49.18 what was going to happen on the other side of the flood, 00:20:49.21\00:20:52.05 knowing that all vegetation would be destroyed, 00:20:52.15\00:20:55.18 God had a plan. 00:20:55.22\00:20:57.82 Notice what it says in the Bible, Genesis 7:2. 00:20:58.25\00:21:01.42 He said to Noah... 00:21:01.46\00:21:03.12 The great question is, clean for what and unclean for what? 00:21:15.20\00:21:19.84 And let me pause right here and say something. 00:21:19.87\00:21:21.61 There were no Jews in the days of Noah. 00:21:21.64\00:21:25.31 There were no Jews in the Garden of Eden. 00:21:26.92\00:21:29.62 And the reason I say that is because a lot of people say, 00:21:29.65\00:21:32.12 "Well when you follow the dietary plan of the Bible, 00:21:32.15\00:21:35.69 you're following that old Jewish code." 00:21:35.89\00:21:38.19 They say the same thing about the Sabbath. 00:21:38.29\00:21:39.83 "Oh that Jewish law." 00:21:39.86\00:21:41.56 Well you know what? It's not bad to be a Jew. 00:21:41.60\00:21:43.67 Amen, somebody. 00:21:43.70\00:21:45.03 God gave them the oracles that if they had 00:21:46.10\00:21:48.70 shared that with the world, the world would have been 00:21:48.74\00:21:51.74 far more advanced now in many other areas 00:21:51.77\00:21:54.44 than it is right now. 00:21:54.48\00:21:55.81 So don't make it seem like it's a bad thing to be Jew. 00:21:56.24\00:21:59.51 All the Bible writers, think about their origin. 00:22:00.02\00:22:02.48 But clean for what and unclean for what? 00:22:03.08\00:22:04.75 The Bible is clear on this also. 00:22:04.79\00:22:06.39 God instructed Noah to bring both clean and unclean 00:22:06.72\00:22:09.19 animals into the ark. 00:22:09.22\00:22:10.56 Why? Here is what the Bible says in the book of Leviticus. 00:22:10.59\00:22:15.00 Notice, both dividing the hoof, having cloven hoof, that is, 00:22:24.51\00:22:29.38 and chewing the cud. 00:22:29.41\00:22:30.75 It can't have just one or the other. 00:22:30.78\00:22:32.55 Like a camel has one, but it doesn't have the other. 00:22:32.75\00:22:35.65 A pig has one, but it doesn't have the other. 00:22:35.68\00:22:38.29 Let's follow carefully. 00:22:38.49\00:22:39.82 Meaning, one or the other. 00:22:49.66\00:22:51.00 "It is unclean to you." 00:23:01.14\00:23:02.94 When you think about this, let's go on. 00:23:02.98\00:23:04.65 Leviticus 11:5-7 00:23:05.55\00:23:07.92 You know what's amazing today? 00:23:32.37\00:23:33.71 Sometimes you go to restaurants, if you hear the word, "club," 00:23:33.74\00:23:36.78 anytime you buy a sandwich and you hear the word, "club," 00:23:37.61\00:23:40.38 that means it's going to be some kind of pork in it. 00:23:40.42\00:23:42.78 Double cheese club. 00:23:43.89\00:23:45.42 "Club," that means it's bacon in it. 00:23:45.82\00:23:47.92 The pig... 00:23:50.13\00:23:51.56 And let me tell you why God said not eat these. 00:23:53.93\00:23:56.13 God created His own sanitation department. 00:23:56.16\00:24:00.30 Really, think about it. 00:24:04.31\00:24:05.64 He knew that there are places that humans can never go. 00:24:06.04\00:24:09.58 Can you imagine if there was not a sanitation department 00:24:09.61\00:24:15.08 in the ocean, we could never clean it. 00:24:15.18\00:24:18.12 You will see buzzards... You ever seen buzzards? 00:24:19.65\00:24:22.12 When you see a buzzard, what do you know? 00:24:22.32\00:24:24.13 Something died. 00:24:24.49\00:24:26.03 So the buzzards say, "Hey, there's a dead whatever 00:24:26.06\00:24:30.00 on wherever. 00:24:30.03\00:24:31.43 Let's go clean it up." 00:24:31.47\00:24:33.27 And in a matter of time, there they are. 00:24:33.74\00:24:36.14 When you see sometimes a carcass on the ground, 00:24:36.37\00:24:38.97 all of a sudden in a matter of time you see maggots. 00:24:39.01\00:24:41.94 They know that's their job. 00:24:42.14\00:24:43.61 I'm not going to get you sick tonight, 00:24:43.75\00:24:45.08 but if you do get sick, we do have a doctor in the house. 00:24:45.11\00:24:47.08 Dr. Lela, I'll call on you in just a moment of necessary. 00:24:48.82\00:24:51.95 But the point of the matter is, God has a sanitation department 00:24:52.45\00:24:57.03 already in place. 00:24:57.06\00:24:59.03 You can spray cologne on a pig, give him a bow, 00:24:59.26\00:25:02.76 buy him a bicycle, do whatever you want, 00:25:02.80\00:25:05.30 but the moment you let a pig go, they go right to the, 00:25:05.33\00:25:07.97 "Oink, oink, oink." 00:25:08.00\00:25:09.34 Right to where the garbage is. 00:25:09.37\00:25:10.77 It's their nature. God made them that way. 00:25:10.81\00:25:13.38 So now, we wouldn't eat garbage. 00:25:13.41\00:25:16.78 So why do we eat what eats garbage? 00:25:17.51\00:25:20.22 I didn't even ask for one, but thank you. 00:25:23.42\00:25:25.09 Praise the Lord. 00:25:25.32\00:25:26.65 This pig, they just like garbage. 00:25:26.69\00:25:29.09 And you know what? 00:25:29.12\00:25:30.46 A poisonous snake could bite a pig, and it will not die. 00:25:30.49\00:25:35.23 Because it doesn't have a vein system like ours. 00:25:37.13\00:25:39.80 It just absorbs the poison. 00:25:40.00\00:25:41.57 Because God created it to absorb the poison. 00:25:41.60\00:25:45.27 It's a garbage can with four legs. 00:25:45.61\00:25:48.21 And you know what? 00:25:48.81\00:25:50.15 The pig is the only animal that people eat every part of it, 00:25:50.18\00:25:55.58 from the tail to the snout. 00:25:55.78\00:25:58.02 From pig tail to pig nostrils. 00:25:58.52\00:26:01.09 What about the ocean? 00:26:06.29\00:26:07.86 Deuteronomy 14:9-10 00:26:07.90\00:26:10.00 Let's go on. 00:26:18.14\00:26:19.47 That's why you think of lobsters, crabs, shrimps, 00:26:25.81\00:26:30.09 scallops, muscles, octopus; the list goes on and on. 00:26:30.12\00:26:34.62 Seahorse; the list goes on and on. 00:26:34.66\00:26:37.56 God has a massive sanitation department 00:26:37.59\00:26:41.86 to keep the ocean clean. 00:26:41.90\00:26:43.23 Sharks. 00:26:43.26\00:26:44.60 They'll eat anything. 00:26:46.47\00:26:47.90 Sharks have been opened up and they have found cans in there, 00:26:47.94\00:26:50.97 phones in there, plastic bottles. 00:26:51.41\00:26:54.18 Whatever falls in the ocean, if they just open their mouth 00:26:54.28\00:26:56.88 and swim by, it's all in there. 00:26:56.91\00:26:59.65 And it doesn't kill them. 00:26:59.68\00:27:01.02 Because they are designed to be a sanitation department 00:27:02.02\00:27:05.65 for the ocean. 00:27:05.85\00:27:07.19 Let's go on further. 00:27:07.22\00:27:08.56 Look at what's not on God's menu. 00:27:08.59\00:27:10.03 I hope I'm not eliminating your diet. 00:27:20.97\00:27:22.90 We live in southern Illinois. 00:27:29.54\00:27:31.08 I'm just laughing thinking about it. 00:27:33.72\00:27:35.42 And we had some guys come by that was going to give us 00:27:36.08\00:27:38.69 a price to cut our trees down in the back yard. 00:27:38.72\00:27:41.19 And he came into our living room and we have a nice view there. 00:27:42.12\00:27:45.09 You can see a little pond in our back yard. 00:27:45.73\00:27:47.33 And we feed the squirrels. 00:27:47.36\00:27:49.20 We don't eat them, we feed them. 00:27:49.76\00:27:51.90 We feed the raccoons, the squirrels, 00:27:52.33\00:27:54.04 the birds of every kind. 00:27:54.07\00:27:55.70 We have a raccoon friend that comes every night. 00:27:55.90\00:27:59.01 He knows us so well, he takes the food out of our hands. 00:27:59.04\00:28:02.18 We feed all the animals. 00:28:04.28\00:28:05.71 They love us. 00:28:05.75\00:28:07.08 So this guy is looking at our squirrel. 00:28:07.45\00:28:10.22 And he said with that southern Illinois accent, 00:28:10.52\00:28:12.75 "That's some real good eatin' right there." 00:28:12.79\00:28:14.99 I said, "What?" 00:28:16.79\00:28:18.13 He said, "That there squirrel right there." 00:28:18.16\00:28:19.69 He said, "I eat many of 'em." 00:28:20.40\00:28:22.00 I can't do it all because I'm from New York. 00:28:22.03\00:28:23.90 I'm like right now going through a crisis right now. 00:28:24.23\00:28:27.67 But he said, "That there is some good eatin'." 00:28:27.97\00:28:30.41 And I said, "You eat squirrel?" "Oh, all kinds of squirrel." 00:28:30.44\00:28:33.01 He said the best kind is the red ones. 00:28:33.04\00:28:35.08 And I thought, "Is there a difference?" 00:28:35.84\00:28:37.18 He said, "All kinds of them. We eat them all the time." 00:28:37.21\00:28:39.05 And I thought, "Don't eat our squirrels." 00:28:39.08\00:28:41.48 And they know us. 00:28:43.22\00:28:44.55 While we're eating breakfast sometimes our squirrel 00:28:44.59\00:28:47.09 will come, if we forget to put his black oil seeds 00:28:47.12\00:28:49.22 out there he'll come and look at us like this... 00:28:49.26\00:28:51.49 And if we can't catch it, he'll wag his tail real fast 00:28:53.26\00:28:56.10 so we can see it, like, "I'm here. 00:28:56.13\00:28:57.97 You're eating. I need to eat." 00:28:58.30\00:28:59.97 God says, "Don't eat them. Be nice to them." 00:29:00.97\00:29:05.57 Now, nobody here tonight, I can probably be sure, 00:29:05.61\00:29:12.41 would say, "Honey, tonight, I'm on my way home, 00:29:12.51\00:29:16.85 I would like to have a mouse for dinner." 00:29:16.89\00:29:19.15 Now you're laughing. 00:29:23.22\00:29:24.63 And I'm not laughing, but I'm going to tell you something. 00:29:25.56\00:29:28.03 I'm going to tell you something. 00:29:28.50\00:29:29.83 It might be something that you don't even think about, 00:29:29.86\00:29:32.17 however, around the world it's a delicacy. 00:29:32.20\00:29:37.81 It is a delicacy around the world. 00:29:38.97\00:29:41.41 Let me change the slide before all of you guys 00:29:41.51\00:29:43.81 become vegetarians instantly. 00:29:43.85\00:29:45.85 Would not be a bad thing, by the way, 00:29:46.65\00:29:48.18 because that's the best diet. 00:29:48.22\00:29:49.55 But so you think you wouldn't do that. 00:29:49.65\00:29:51.79 But there they are. 00:29:54.12\00:29:55.46 Now why does God give us the kind of plan He does? 00:29:56.66\00:30:00.40 Notice what He said in Psalm 84:11. 00:30:00.43\00:30:04.10 You wouldn't do that to... Things... 00:30:15.74\00:30:18.55 I mean, some of the things we eat in America. 00:30:18.58\00:30:20.75 I've traveled, my wife and I have traveled around the world. 00:30:20.78\00:30:23.18 There are places... 00:30:23.69\00:30:25.02 Just before the program one of our guys was saying 00:30:25.05\00:30:27.29 he saw a guy recently just pick up a frog 00:30:27.89\00:30:29.82 and threw it in my mouth while he was alive. 00:30:29.86\00:30:32.39 And to be a man in some of the Asian countries, 00:30:33.40\00:30:36.06 they give you soup with hissing roaches in it. 00:30:36.20\00:30:39.83 And you've got to pick, to be a man you've got to pick it up and 00:30:40.87\00:30:43.84 bite it and kill it, and then swallow it. 00:30:43.87\00:30:46.31 We're going to get a lot of vegetarians out of this program. 00:30:48.04\00:30:50.45 But you know what? 00:30:52.58\00:30:53.92 Your plate should be a place where you receive strength, 00:30:54.32\00:30:58.55 not where you are poisoning yourself slowly, 00:30:59.09\00:31:02.16 and then wondering many, many years later 00:31:02.26\00:31:04.29 why you're so ill. 00:31:04.33\00:31:05.66 Often times you don't need medication. 00:31:06.73\00:31:09.43 You just need to eat differently. 00:31:09.46\00:31:11.73 And God's got the best plan. 00:31:12.03\00:31:13.94 You don't have to worry about, "Well now, what should I eat? 00:31:14.30\00:31:16.50 What shouldn't I eat?" 00:31:16.54\00:31:17.87 And by the way, if you think this is just a Bible message, 00:31:17.91\00:31:20.21 or an Adventist message, or a Christian message, 00:31:20.24\00:31:22.01 atheists, people that worship trees and rocks, 00:31:22.71\00:31:27.52 are predominately in many cases better vegetarians 00:31:28.62\00:31:32.15 than Christians. 00:31:32.19\00:31:33.52 So this is not about, this is not just a 00:31:34.62\00:31:37.23 message about what God has said. 00:31:37.26\00:31:38.99 This is about health. 00:31:39.03\00:31:40.83 If you want to be in health and you want to have the lowest 00:31:41.56\00:31:43.63 medical bill, make sure that you put things 00:31:43.67\00:31:47.14 on your plate that's going to be good for you 00:31:47.17\00:31:49.24 and not poison. 00:31:49.34\00:31:50.67 But some people say, and I've heard Christians 00:31:50.87\00:31:53.11 that have argued with me, that, "No, God changed these 00:31:53.14\00:31:56.98 principles in the New Testament." 00:31:57.01\00:31:58.68 And one of the stories that they use is found 00:31:58.91\00:32:01.48 in the book of Acts. 00:32:01.68\00:32:03.02 God says of all of us, in 3 John 1:2 He says... 00:32:03.05\00:32:06.82 In other words, if you have a financial blessing, 00:32:16.10\00:32:18.90 if you have a nice house, if you have a nice car, 00:32:18.93\00:32:22.17 if you have a great education, if you're living a good life, 00:32:22.20\00:32:24.37 he says the things that will really be a benefit 00:32:24.41\00:32:26.41 above all of that is if you have health. 00:32:26.44\00:32:29.61 What sense is there to have a nice car 00:32:30.05\00:32:31.61 and you can't even walk? 00:32:31.65\00:32:33.31 Or you have all these good things and you can't enjoy them 00:32:34.32\00:32:37.02 because you are so ill? 00:32:37.05\00:32:38.72 But here's one of the reasons why... 00:32:39.55\00:32:40.89 This is one of the passages in the Bible, by the way, 00:32:41.26\00:32:43.43 that many Christians use to try to say that God changed His idea 00:32:43.46\00:32:48.06 about what we should and should not eat. 00:32:48.10\00:32:50.23 In the book of Acts there's a vision by Peter. 00:32:50.43\00:32:52.70 We find this in Acts chapter 10. 00:32:53.30\00:32:55.04 We're going to walk through it all the way to verse 28, 00:32:55.07\00:32:56.97 but I've taken out components. 00:32:57.01\00:32:58.34 You can read the entire story. 00:32:58.37\00:32:59.74 But I've left nothing main out of this approach tonight. 00:32:59.77\00:33:03.98 Peter was hungry. 00:33:04.31\00:33:05.65 Peter was hungry, he was looking for something to eat. 00:33:06.92\00:33:09.22 That's noon. 00:33:18.16\00:33:19.49 That's why most Christians get hungry at noon. 00:33:24.63\00:33:27.60 Not really. 00:33:29.64\00:33:30.97 Now I've seen people tell me this story, 00:34:02.14\00:34:05.17 and a lot of pastors, they stop right here. 00:34:05.37\00:34:07.78 And they say, "See, we can eat anything." 00:34:08.04\00:34:10.45 But I say, "Keep on reading." 00:34:11.18\00:34:13.48 But Peter said... 00:34:16.72\00:34:18.05 They say, "Yep, see, God cleaned it all up." 00:34:32.53\00:34:34.47 If a mouse is running across your plate, hit it, eat it. 00:34:34.64\00:34:38.44 I mean, why not? 00:34:40.48\00:34:41.81 If everything is clean, eat anything. 00:34:41.84\00:34:44.21 Watch out for your little, you know, toy dogs. 00:34:45.68\00:34:48.18 If this concept is accepted, 00:34:50.15\00:34:51.49 even your little dogs are in trouble. 00:34:51.52\00:34:53.12 But go on. 00:34:53.99\00:34:55.32 The Bible not only gave the story, but Peter, 00:35:00.70\00:35:04.47 after this vision someone came to the house 00:35:05.00\00:35:07.50 where Peter was staying and said to him, 00:35:07.54\00:35:09.80 "The Lord has sent me here for you to go and talk to somebody." 00:35:10.94\00:35:14.58 And the Jewish leaders that were with Peter said, 00:35:14.94\00:35:17.98 "Where you going?" 00:35:18.01\00:35:19.35 He said, "I'm going to the house of a Gentile." 00:35:19.38\00:35:21.78 They went with him because they did not believe that the 00:35:22.88\00:35:25.69 Jews and the Gentiles had any right to communicate together. 00:35:25.72\00:35:30.09 So just to show that Peter was being legit, 00:35:31.46\00:35:34.10 they sent representatives with him to make sure he was not 00:35:34.20\00:35:37.80 doing something that they did not authorize. 00:35:37.90\00:35:40.64 That's why the vision was given. 00:35:40.94\00:35:42.40 Notice the rest of the story. 00:35:42.44\00:35:44.84 This was not about dietary restriction. 00:36:09.13\00:36:12.90 This was about racial restriction. 00:36:12.93\00:36:16.40 The Lord was trying to get His disciples ready to carry 00:36:17.17\00:36:19.87 the gospel to the world. 00:36:19.91\00:36:21.24 How can you go to the whole world if you don't like 00:36:21.28\00:36:24.75 people of other races? 00:36:24.78\00:36:26.21 That's the reason why eventually, and you'll read 00:36:26.95\00:36:29.58 the story in the Bible, that's the reason why 00:36:29.62\00:36:31.52 eventually the Lord had to abandon the Jewish leaders 00:36:31.55\00:36:35.29 and pick Him some fishermen and some hard-headed people 00:36:35.32\00:36:38.23 and convert them and send them to the world. 00:36:38.26\00:36:40.53 Because the very nation that He entrusted the message to, 00:36:40.56\00:36:43.37 they were prejudiced. 00:36:43.40\00:36:45.27 They didn't like other races. 00:36:45.73\00:36:47.07 And today, and today... 00:36:47.10\00:36:48.90 We have a lot of good friends when I go to BH 00:36:48.94\00:36:51.11 in New York City. 00:36:51.14\00:36:52.47 B&H is an electronic store that is owned by Jews. 00:36:52.87\00:36:56.51 They'll do business with you, but they don't mix 00:36:56.54\00:36:59.71 with people that are not Jews. 00:36:59.75\00:37:01.48 In New York City, go to Brooklyn. 00:37:02.18\00:37:04.25 Brooklyn has so many Jews living in Brooklyn. 00:37:04.29\00:37:06.29 Wonderful people, great businessmen. 00:37:06.55\00:37:08.72 But they won't mix with people that do not share the same 00:37:08.99\00:37:12.26 convictions that they do. 00:37:12.29\00:37:13.86 That's why, let me share something. 00:37:14.06\00:37:15.93 We could learn a lesson from that. 00:37:16.23\00:37:17.80 We must share this message with people who believe 00:37:19.00\00:37:22.70 or don't believe what we believe. 00:37:22.74\00:37:25.01 Let me say it again. 00:37:25.81\00:37:27.14 God has not called us to be an exclusive club. 00:37:27.44\00:37:30.01 God has called us to be an ambassador to everybody. 00:37:30.05\00:37:33.31 "And the gospel of the kingdom shall be preached 00:37:34.42\00:37:36.02 in all the world as a witness to all nations." 00:37:36.05\00:37:39.82 But that's not the only part. 00:37:40.86\00:37:42.19 When you think about the beauty of it, 00:37:42.22\00:37:43.63 you think about another area. 00:37:44.06\00:37:45.99 God gave specific instructions in other areas. 00:37:46.03\00:37:48.46 That's why he says in Galatians 3:28... 00:37:49.06\00:37:51.30 But here's the question tonight. 00:38:05.31\00:38:06.98 What about wine and alcohol? 00:38:07.02\00:38:09.18 What about wine and alcohol? 00:38:10.25\00:38:12.15 The Bible also gives instructions in this area. 00:38:12.19\00:38:15.46 Notice what the Bible says in Proverbs 20:1. 00:38:16.02\00:38:18.86 But the wise man Solomon continues in Proverbs 23:31-33. 00:38:29.34\00:38:34.98 That means, it's in the process of fermentation. 00:38:41.35\00:38:43.85 I know that to be a fact. 00:38:56.56\00:38:58.43 Not that I got drunk, but I use to drink casually. 00:38:58.47\00:39:02.97 When I was in the party scene, the club scene, 00:39:03.17\00:39:05.47 when I was a disc jockey, I would drink those mixed drinks 00:39:05.51\00:39:08.24 like the slow gin fizz and tequila sunrise. 00:39:08.28\00:39:10.51 They put sweet stuff so that you don't taste the gin. 00:39:10.55\00:39:13.28 But I walked across the highway one Friday night 00:39:13.78\00:39:15.82 in Long Island New York, almost got hit by a car. 00:39:15.85\00:39:18.22 I didn't know until my friend yelled my name. 00:39:18.32\00:39:21.59 I said, "I'm not drunk." 00:39:21.96\00:39:23.49 He said, "That car almost hit you." 00:39:23.86\00:39:25.29 And all I felt was it brushed my long coattail. 00:39:25.33\00:39:28.16 Beeeep... 00:39:28.63\00:39:30.13 You know how the horn beeps. 00:39:30.90\00:39:32.23 But I said, "I'm not drunk." 00:39:34.34\00:39:35.70 Many of us don't understand the impact of alcohol. 00:39:38.64\00:39:41.44 And let me share something tonight. 00:39:41.54\00:39:42.88 Even if you don't know Greek, or Hebrew, or Aramaic at all, 00:39:42.91\00:39:46.25 listen to those who are not Christian 00:39:46.85\00:39:49.55 about the research of alcohol in moderate forms 00:39:49.58\00:39:53.49 as well as in extreme forms. 00:39:53.52\00:39:55.46 It's amazing. 00:39:55.49\00:39:56.83 The effects of alcohol by the CARON Treatment Centers. 00:39:57.03\00:40:00.50 To get this information in full so that you could see that 00:40:00.53\00:40:03.47 I'm not putting this together to kind of leave out certain facts, 00:40:03.50\00:40:06.80 you can go to this website yourself. 00:40:06.84\00:40:08.47 caron.org 00:40:08.50\00:40:10.61 This is a center that treats people that have been moderate, 00:40:10.64\00:40:15.01 heavy, or extremely heavy alcohol users. 00:40:15.84\00:40:19.51 From wine coolers all the way to gin and to vodka. 00:40:19.75\00:40:24.15 They've put together this research. 00:40:24.29\00:40:25.72 And they have centers all over the nation 00:40:25.75\00:40:27.39 that treat people that say, "Well I'm just a moderate user." 00:40:27.42\00:40:29.86 Look at what they said. 00:40:29.89\00:40:31.23 And they talk about this in the sense of moderate. 00:40:52.28\00:40:54.25 Let's go on. 00:40:54.28\00:40:55.72 That's why unfortunately some guy that has ill intentions, 00:41:05.03\00:41:08.66 they'll go to a club and they'll try to get a girl drunk, 00:41:08.70\00:41:11.33 or they'll try to get her to drink, 00:41:12.17\00:41:13.84 because they know it begins to affect you right away. 00:41:13.87\00:41:17.31 Let's keep going. 00:41:23.04\00:41:24.38 This is alcohol in moderate use. 00:41:24.41\00:41:26.88 That's why the police always say, "Walk a straight line." 00:41:34.56\00:41:37.73 And this is in moderate use, this is not extreme. 00:41:47.34\00:41:50.41 Let's keep going. 00:41:50.44\00:41:51.77 This is the effect of alcohol in stages. 00:41:51.97\00:41:55.21 And let's keep going. 00:42:02.18\00:42:03.52 And the short term impact of alcohol. 00:42:03.55\00:42:06.42 When you see a person that has had alcohol 00:42:20.10\00:42:22.84 even casually throughout the years, 00:42:22.87\00:42:24.57 you'll notice the skin is drying up. 00:42:24.61\00:42:26.81 The same impact that smoking has. 00:42:26.84\00:42:29.54 That's why when people start drinking, they say, 00:42:36.89\00:42:38.35 "I'm getting warm." 00:42:38.39\00:42:39.95 Going on, what about the impact to the muscle? 00:42:40.36\00:42:42.72 So when you drink alcohol, even beers and wine coolers, 00:42:57.81\00:43:01.11 that's exactly what's happening to the human body. 00:43:01.14\00:43:03.91 It's going through the impact of these things 00:43:03.95\00:43:08.55 on the body system. 00:43:08.65\00:43:10.49 When I was growing up, I never bought beer. 00:43:10.79\00:43:15.32 I didn't like beer. 00:43:15.36\00:43:16.69 I wouldn't drink strong drinks. 00:43:16.89\00:43:18.76 And I would never label myself as a person that was 00:43:18.96\00:43:21.50 involved in alcohol at all. 00:43:21.53\00:43:23.13 But I noticed the number of things that take place 00:43:23.16\00:43:27.57 when a person gets involved in alcohol. 00:43:27.77\00:43:30.71 It always begins in moderation. 00:43:30.74\00:43:34.38 I must admit a few things publicly. 00:43:34.64\00:43:37.45 And you know, they said confession is good for the soul, 00:43:37.71\00:43:40.38 but hard on the reputation. 00:43:40.42\00:43:41.75 I was raised in a home where the lady raising me was a 00:43:41.98\00:43:44.52 Seventh-day Adventist Christian, but her husband wasn't. 00:43:44.55\00:43:47.32 And during Thanksgiving he would buy Manischewitz, 00:43:47.36\00:43:50.26 which was Jewish wine. 00:43:50.46\00:43:51.99 He would like to have that with his meal. 00:43:52.03\00:43:54.20 And whenever we would put the dishes away, 00:43:54.56\00:43:57.30 he'd leave a little bit in the cup and we'd sip it, 00:43:59.10\00:44:00.67 and I'd go... 00:44:00.70\00:44:02.04 Whoa. 00:44:02.10\00:44:03.44 I didn't understand just little sips. 00:44:03.47\00:44:05.74 My wife and I, when we lived in California, 00:44:06.47\00:44:08.24 she'd have family that would come and visit us. 00:44:08.54\00:44:11.08 And they'd say, "We want to go to Napa Valley." 00:44:11.95\00:44:14.12 Napa Valley is known for what? 00:44:14.15\00:44:15.85 Some of the best wine country in the nation. 00:44:15.95\00:44:19.65 So I would say, "Okay." 00:44:20.62\00:44:22.42 So when I took them to Napa Valley, 00:44:22.46\00:44:24.23 they would give me a sticker. 00:44:24.26\00:44:25.59 I was the designated driver. 00:44:25.63\00:44:27.30 Because I'm not going to drink. 00:44:27.76\00:44:29.10 So I'd come home, and after the people we took 00:44:30.87\00:44:35.77 went through all these different wine tastings, 00:44:35.80\00:44:37.84 they're fast asleep in the back seat of the car. 00:44:37.87\00:44:40.88 And I had a Honda Prelude at the time. 00:44:41.08\00:44:42.88 I little sports car, five speed. 00:44:42.91\00:44:44.81 And we're getting close to home, and you know, 00:44:45.25\00:44:47.55 one person is sleeping this way, 00:44:47.58\00:44:48.95 the other person sleeping that way. 00:44:48.98\00:44:50.32 And they were not drinking bottles of alcohol. 00:44:50.39\00:44:52.92 They were just sipping these little glasses, 00:44:52.95\00:44:55.12 little things here and there. 00:44:55.16\00:44:56.49 But it knocked them out. 00:44:56.56\00:44:57.89 Every sign that you saw talked about there, 00:44:57.93\00:45:00.23 it affected them in that way. 00:45:00.26\00:45:02.06 And I saw when it was coming on because 00:45:02.10\00:45:04.70 they'd be talking to me, and I'd say, "What did you say?" 00:45:04.73\00:45:06.84 "I don't remember what I just said. 00:45:06.87\00:45:08.47 I don't know. What did I say?" 00:45:10.24\00:45:11.67 And I'd repeat it back to them. "Did I say that?" 00:45:11.77\00:45:13.78 And before you know it, they're sleeping. 00:45:13.84\00:45:15.18 But I told my wife, I said, one day I was bringing 00:45:15.21\00:45:17.18 her cousin back and her friend, and I said, "You know what? 00:45:17.21\00:45:19.58 I'm going to wake them up. 00:45:19.61\00:45:20.95 Nobody is sleeping on me while I'm driving." 00:45:20.98\00:45:23.05 So there is close to Benicia, California 00:45:23.72\00:45:28.32 they were working on the road, and the road kind of 00:45:28.92\00:45:30.69 goes like this and it has a sudden dip, 00:45:30.73\00:45:32.39 and it comes back up. 00:45:32.43\00:45:33.76 Well most people that live in the area know 00:45:33.80\00:45:35.50 that is where you're most likely to go airborne safely. 00:45:35.53\00:45:38.53 So I decided they are not going to sleep on me, 00:45:39.77\00:45:42.94 not while I'm driving. 00:45:42.97\00:45:44.44 So I went ahead and just kind of shifted down and 00:45:48.61\00:45:50.91 coming down the hill, and went airborne just slowly. 00:45:51.21\00:45:54.38 Safe enough to land on all fours. 00:45:54.42\00:45:56.69 And they woke up and they said, 00:45:56.79\00:45:58.12 "How long have we been sleeping?" 00:45:58.15\00:45:59.62 And I said, "About almost an hour and a half." 00:46:00.56\00:46:03.29 Let me tell you something. 00:46:03.53\00:46:04.86 It always begins in, what you may refer to as, 00:46:05.39\00:46:10.43 a casual way. 00:46:10.47\00:46:12.23 And everything that we begin as a practice, follow me carefully, 00:46:12.53\00:46:16.87 becomes a habit. 00:46:17.17\00:46:18.51 A habit becomes a character, a character becomes a destiny. 00:46:18.67\00:46:23.61 A destiny determines which way you go. 00:46:23.71\00:46:26.35 And what I thought about when I put this together, 00:46:26.45\00:46:28.95 I thought to myself, it is amazing that we look at the 00:46:28.98\00:46:31.35 Bible in the way we do. 00:46:31.39\00:46:32.72 You know that the wine coolers, these intoxicating drinks, 00:46:32.75\00:46:36.06 it's not about moderation, according to the Bible. 00:46:36.26\00:46:39.13 It is about abstinence. 00:46:39.16\00:46:41.53 Look at some powerful scriptures that you may have 00:46:41.63\00:46:43.77 never thought had any impact on what we put in our bodies. 00:46:43.80\00:46:48.80 For example, let's look at John the Baptist, his birth. 00:46:48.94\00:46:53.11 Luke 1:15, notice what the Lord said 00:46:53.17\00:46:56.04 about a man that He called to preach the gospel. 00:46:56.08\00:46:59.91 Notice what He said. 00:46:59.95\00:47:01.28 Speaking of John the Baptist, speaking to his parents... 00:47:01.65\00:47:04.72 So somebody might say, "Well that was not alcoholic wine." 00:47:15.46\00:47:17.63 The Lord said, "I don't want him to drink either one." 00:47:17.67\00:47:19.70 Now follow me carefully. 00:47:20.24\00:47:21.57 Why did He say what He did? 00:47:21.60\00:47:23.27 Why did He say neither wine nor strong drink? 00:47:23.30\00:47:25.47 In their day they did not have the preservation 00:47:25.77\00:47:28.78 like we do today; we have refrigerators. 00:47:28.81\00:47:30.71 Like when you make, my family use to make 00:47:30.75\00:47:33.72 homemade grape juice. 00:47:33.75\00:47:35.55 Or sometimes for thanksgiving have you ever made 00:47:36.55\00:47:38.89 homemade apple cider? 00:47:38.92\00:47:40.29 You ever had that fresh apple cider? 00:47:40.79\00:47:42.12 It's nice and cold. 00:47:42.16\00:47:43.49 But you forget to put it in the fridge when you open it, 00:47:43.53\00:47:45.56 so you leave it out overnight. 00:47:45.59\00:47:47.03 And the next day you open the top, and it goes, sshhh. 00:47:47.06\00:47:50.63 And you say, "We'll just get some ice and drink it." 00:47:51.70\00:47:53.94 You know what I'm talking about? 00:47:53.97\00:47:55.30 And all of a sudden you say, 00:47:55.34\00:47:56.67 "Whoa, it tastes better than it did yesterday." 00:47:56.71\00:47:58.07 Because it starts fermenting immediately. 00:47:58.87\00:48:01.98 The Lord said, now this is very powerful, 00:48:02.21\00:48:04.28 the Lord said don't drink neither wine nor strong drink. 00:48:04.31\00:48:07.52 Because in those days... 00:48:07.55\00:48:09.02 When you talk about the parable, Jesus says, 00:48:09.05\00:48:11.45 "Do not put new wine in old wineskins." 00:48:11.49\00:48:15.86 The reason why He said that is because 00:48:15.89\00:48:17.49 the fermentation begins immediately. 00:48:17.53\00:48:20.23 If you don't drink it the moment you turn it into juice, 00:48:20.76\00:48:23.37 fermentation begins immediately. 00:48:23.40\00:48:26.20 That's the reason why Jesus waited to the last day 00:48:26.43\00:48:32.17 of the wedding feast to turn the water into wine. 00:48:32.21\00:48:36.14 Because if He did it on the first day 00:48:37.05\00:48:38.78 it would have fermented for six days. 00:48:39.35\00:48:42.52 And the last day they would have said... 00:48:42.75\00:48:44.99 And I do not want to be sacrilegious. 00:48:45.12\00:48:47.32 But you can look back at that and you could accuse Jesus 00:48:47.36\00:48:50.43 of creating a situation where the people got fermented 00:48:50.46\00:48:53.80 and drunk and intoxicated from wine He made at the 00:48:53.90\00:48:57.27 beginning of the feast. 00:48:57.30\00:48:58.80 Understand the principles. 00:48:58.83\00:49:00.24 He waited till the end. 00:49:00.27\00:49:02.37 And they said, "This is the best." 00:49:03.24\00:49:05.97 He saved the best for last. 00:49:06.01\00:49:08.91 He gave them fresh fruit of the vine. 00:49:09.08\00:49:12.48 But let's even go deeper than that. 00:49:12.88\00:49:14.52 Let's look at how the Bible makes this point 00:49:14.62\00:49:16.18 very, very clear. 00:49:16.22\00:49:17.69 That's John the Baptist. 00:49:17.92\00:49:19.29 But what about Jesus at the time of His crucifixion? 00:49:19.32\00:49:23.02 Mark 15:23 00:49:24.03\00:49:26.09 When Jesus was on the cross in agony, His body is in pain, 00:49:27.63\00:49:31.60 writhing, even saying, "My God, My God, 00:49:32.03\00:49:35.47 why hast Thou forsaken Me?" 00:49:35.50\00:49:37.41 Jesus said, "I thirst." 00:49:39.21\00:49:41.61 And what did they do? 00:49:41.64\00:49:43.14 They put a rag, they dipped it in... 00:49:43.18\00:49:45.61 The Bible tells you here. 00:49:45.81\00:49:47.15 Matthew says, "...with gall." 00:49:52.22\00:49:54.42 He did not drink it. 00:49:58.49\00:49:59.83 Let me tell you why. 00:50:00.23\00:50:01.56 This is the amazing aspect of the plan of redemption. 00:50:04.50\00:50:08.04 The devil knew that all that Jesus had to be 00:50:09.17\00:50:12.91 was a defiled sacrifice. 00:50:12.94\00:50:16.28 I want you to hear me carefully. 00:50:16.54\00:50:17.88 He's a lamb without spot and without blemish. 00:50:18.28\00:50:22.22 But if the devil could have led them to do anything to 00:50:22.55\00:50:26.45 make Him a defiled sacrifice, 00:50:26.49\00:50:29.92 at the moment of His greatest agony, 00:50:31.03\00:50:33.83 what would you want more than anything else 00:50:33.86\00:50:36.36 when you are thirsting and hanging on a cross, dying, 00:50:36.40\00:50:39.63 with all the sins of the world on your shoulder? 00:50:39.67\00:50:41.94 "I thirst, I thirst." 00:50:41.97\00:50:43.87 The devil says, "Good. We've got Him now. 00:50:44.64\00:50:46.78 Give Him some alcohol." 00:50:46.81\00:50:48.18 And they gave it to Him, but He would not drink it. 00:50:48.74\00:50:52.11 Why did He not drink it? 00:50:52.71\00:50:54.05 He didn't drink it because He all of a sudden lost His thirst. 00:50:54.08\00:50:56.75 He did not drink it because He knew even the slightest, 00:50:56.79\00:50:59.82 hear me tonight, even the slightest 00:50:59.85\00:51:03.36 in His body temple would have caused Him 00:51:04.99\00:51:09.90 to be a defiled sacrifice. 00:51:09.93\00:51:13.07 Now hear me, brothers and sisters, 00:51:13.80\00:51:15.64 those you of listening and watching. 00:51:15.67\00:51:17.17 If Jesus refused in the moment of His greatest agony 00:51:19.01\00:51:23.45 even a smidgen of ingesting alcohol or any kind of 00:51:24.78\00:51:30.25 wine in His system, why would Christians seek 00:51:30.29\00:51:34.46 to participate in what Jesus rejected all together? 00:51:34.49\00:51:38.73 But they say it's moderation. 00:51:40.40\00:51:41.96 With that principle in mind, you know what we're saying? 00:51:42.00\00:51:44.47 When we say, "It's not about getting drunk, 00:51:44.50\00:51:47.07 it's about moderation," well you tell that to the researchers 00:51:47.10\00:51:50.37 who say even moderate use of alcohol begins to 00:51:50.41\00:51:53.61 impair our judgments, lower our inhibitions, 00:51:53.64\00:51:57.18 and begins to destroy brain cells that are not replaceable 00:51:57.21\00:52:00.78 by any medical means whatsoever. 00:52:00.82\00:52:04.12 Why would Christians insist on participating in 00:52:04.92\00:52:09.22 what Christ Himself repulsed and did not participate in at all? 00:52:09.26\00:52:15.76 And here's the other question. 00:52:16.30\00:52:17.73 If He told John the Baptist's parents not to give him wine 00:52:18.33\00:52:22.84 or strong drink, why would Christians want something 00:52:22.94\00:52:27.84 that will do to them what it would have 00:52:31.01\00:52:32.58 done to John the Baptist? 00:52:32.61\00:52:34.32 The spirit that we should be filled with, 00:52:34.35\00:52:36.28 like John the Baptist, is not wine spirits, 00:52:36.32\00:52:40.09 or beer spirits, or wine cooler spirits, 00:52:40.12\00:52:43.46 but the Holy Spirit. 00:52:43.49\00:52:45.33 God wants to communicate to us. 00:52:46.83\00:52:48.56 And any impairment at all would disqualify us 00:52:48.60\00:52:52.47 from being a fit vessel for the Lord 00:52:52.50\00:52:55.64 to communicate to us. 00:52:55.67\00:52:57.24 That's why tonight this is not about just whether or not 00:52:57.27\00:53:01.21 I can handle it or not. 00:53:01.24\00:53:02.58 With that moderation idea, are we saying that we should 00:53:02.74\00:53:07.02 smoke in moderation? 00:53:07.05\00:53:08.58 No. Should we eat pork in moderation? 00:53:08.85\00:53:11.55 No. Should we take drugs and cocaine in moderation? 00:53:11.59\00:53:16.32 No. 00:53:16.36\00:53:17.69 The same thing applies to anything that debilitates 00:53:17.73\00:53:20.40 the human body and compromises its ability 00:53:20.43\00:53:24.20 to be at its optimum health. 00:53:24.23\00:53:26.20 That's why let me be clear tonight, 00:53:26.67\00:53:28.00 since you're going to hang me anyway. 00:53:28.04\00:53:29.44 There are some of you that worship and you are 00:53:31.17\00:53:34.64 hooked on caffeine. 00:53:34.84\00:53:37.95 Hooked hopelessly on caffeine. 00:53:39.21\00:53:42.15 Because any time you say to the body, 00:53:42.18\00:53:45.02 "No, I can handle this," and you decide to start 00:53:45.05\00:53:47.76 getting off of caffeine, the body immediately goes through 00:53:47.79\00:53:50.93 what they call a withdrawal. 00:53:50.96\00:53:52.76 And it's the most painful thing when the body starts to 00:53:52.79\00:53:55.96 try to purify itself. 00:53:56.00\00:53:57.33 Why would it be so painful 00:53:57.43\00:53:58.97 if what you did to it was not harmful? 00:53:59.00\00:54:01.00 The Bible says, once again, what about smoking? 00:54:02.04\00:54:04.47 "Though shalt not kill." That includes yourself. 00:54:04.51\00:54:07.04 Any explanation there? 00:54:07.24\00:54:08.74 When the surgeon general says it will cause you death and cancer, 00:54:09.24\00:54:12.31 why put it in your body at all? 00:54:12.35\00:54:14.42 And here's the overwhelming principles 00:54:14.45\00:54:16.28 to everything I covered tonight. 00:54:16.32\00:54:17.72 Together, the Bible says in Romans 12:1... 00:54:18.15\00:54:20.19 And finally, the Lord says... 00:54:33.50\00:54:34.84 You could not use a defiled lamb for the sacrifice. 00:54:44.98\00:54:48.35 The Lord wants us not to be defiled, 00:54:48.55\00:54:50.45 but to be used for His service. 00:54:50.49\00:54:51.82 And finally, in an hour when the world is not 00:54:56.09\00:54:59.16 giving God glory, and He says, 00:54:59.19\00:55:01.73 "Fear God and give glory to Him," 00:55:01.76\00:55:03.93 did you not know 1 Corinthians 10:31? 00:55:03.97\00:55:08.00 The Bible says, let's read this together... 00:55:08.80\00:55:10.91 While what we eat and drink is important, 00:55:20.85\00:55:23.22 how we live our lives sometimes is not what you're eating, 00:55:23.25\00:55:27.56 but it's what's eating you. 00:55:27.59\00:55:29.26 Emotional health is also important. 00:55:29.92\00:55:32.49 Tonight I'm going to ask for the song to be sung, 00:55:32.53\00:55:35.70 Live Out Thy Life Within Me. 00:55:35.73\00:55:37.47 That's tonight's message. 00:55:37.50\00:55:38.83 Allow the Lord to live out His life within you. 00:55:38.87\00:55:42.00 Live out Thy life within me, O Jesus, King of kings! 00:55:51.98\00:56:01.52 Be Thou Thyself the answer to all my questionings. 00:56:01.76\00:56:11.50 Live out Thy life within me; in all things have Thy way. 00:56:11.73\00:56:21.71 I, the transparent medium, 00:56:22.28\00:56:28.22 Thy glory to display. 00:56:28.25\00:56:35.02 As the song is played softly, how many of you want to 00:56:35.49\00:56:37.66 live out the life that the Lord wants you to live? 00:56:37.69\00:56:40.40 If you want to be a Cadillac with the best performance, 00:56:41.06\00:56:44.93 you want to be a Mercedes with no hindrance, 00:56:45.37\00:56:47.90 but even more than those things that rust and fade away, 00:56:47.94\00:56:50.87 you want to be a vessel of honor to God. 00:56:50.91\00:56:55.44 I pray that tonight the message was not only clear, 00:56:55.91\00:56:58.35 but that the Lord opened your heart to say, 00:56:58.38\00:57:01.38 "I want to be a person that experiences abundant life." 00:57:01.42\00:57:06.25 I pray that you have accepted the Word of God 00:57:06.82\00:57:09.09 as He has made it clear to you, and that one day when He comes 00:57:09.12\00:57:13.90 you'll meet Him in peace because you have lived 00:57:14.13\00:57:16.60 that abundant life in Christ. 00:57:16.63\00:57:19.40
