was actually shocked

looking into media

influence that they have...

We all know the term sex sells.

But I didn't realize how much

subconscious
manipulation there was going on.

And when I started to really see

more of that information,
I was truly shocked.

I've recently got my
hands on a documentary

and this was put
out a few years ago.

It's an older documentary,

pretty vulgar documentary.

lot of vulgar content.

really recommend it

secular perspective.

for selling youth culture

Teens are like Africa.

That's the range that
they're going to take over

and their weaponry are

films, music, books,
CDs, internet access,

clothing, amusement
parks, and sports teams.

weaponry that they have used

to make money

we think about that

as a church, as a family,

responsibility really is

to prevent this manipulation
that they're trying to do

stealing our youth away from us

how we're bombarded
constantly by images.

and the latest color,

the fashion industry,

they control all of that.

now for this year is this color.

And the next thing you know

you see it in all
the department stores,

you see all the kids wearing it.

Even gang related
things in high schools

have to do with a
certain brand of tennis shoe.

And they marketed that
if you have this tennis shoe

that you'll jump
higher, you'll be faster.

If you use this toothpaste,
people will want to kiss you.

like touch you and so.

bombarded by that constantly.

And I remember that for me

out of the gay culture,

new in my walk with God.

And so the Lord had
removed my boyfriend.

night, Thursday night

watching "Will and Grace".

It was a story about a gay
man that had a straight roommate

that was a female.

That was me.

I did great with, you
know, female roommates

that were straight.

And so even though my
life was moving towards God,

night at 8 o'clock

there I was
watching "Will and Grace".

And one night, the
Lord just spoke to me.

the first step is to be open

to what the Holy
Spirit is speaking to us.

And I was like, "I'm just
watching my favorite show."

And the dialogue to me was,

"How can you

if you keep your foot
stuck in this one thing."

And so I really
struggled that I knew, you know,

being a TV-baby, I was
raised with television.

I knew that there was no way

that I can just
turn the channel,

because the way my mind was

I was only always
looking for the smut

that was on TV or
sexual situations,

because I had totally bought in

to what the
media was feeding me.

And so the only option for me
is I had to make a decision to

not only turn
off the television,

I had to disconnect my cable

and get the
television out of my house.

Because I knew that personally
I was powerless against,

you know, what the media
was putting out there for me.

So do you think us as parents,

there's something that we can do

our young people?

trying to guard them from that,

them an alternative

most popular stations

had actually hired people

homes of the youth.

And to study them,

and to ask them what they liked,

what brands they liked,

what they did to
hang out or whatever.

They invested a
lot of time and money

in studying the young
people and how they ticked.

And as a result
of those studies,

they actually
came up with characters

that they would
put in the forefront

of all of their TV shows.

And this was a personality type

that they saw was
extremely effective

in selling their,

whatever they were
selling to the young people.

the guy characters

would always be perverse,
unintelligent, and immature.

Now these characteristics were

what drove the
younger mentality,

sparked their
interest, kept their interest.

So this was the personality type

that they put on
to the male character

kind of personality types

what does that do to degrade
the minds of the young people?

minds of the young people.

is portrayed throughout.

physically attractive,

to want to emulate

to see in the sitcoms

that it was starting to be...

Homosexuality was
beginning to be accepted.

And so I think that really
did have an influence to me

that this was okay,

this was something
that I could accept

if society was
beginning to accept it.

That was half the battle

have to feel ashamed.

played a wife of a husband,

her husband was a
doctor, young, good looking.

And he ends up
secretly going to the gay bars.

And it was a story
back in the '70s in 1970s,

about a couple

how he transitions to be
open about his homosexuality,

falls in love with a
very good looking man,

and it was just
too much for the media.

I've read a book recently
talking about the gay agenda.

And what they've done...

What the book said was
that they introduced, you know,

very easily into the media.

I was looking for affirmation.
