The following program discusses sensitive issues. 00:00:01.36\00:00:03.40 Parents are cautioned that some material 00:00:03.43\00:00:05.23 may be too candid for younger children. 00:00:05.27\00:00:07.34 Hello, and welcome to "Pure Choices." 00:00:40.40\00:00:42.14 I'm your host, Pastor Joshua Nelson. 00:00:42.17\00:00:44.47 And again, I'm so happy you decided to join us today 00:00:44.51\00:00:46.88 because we have a very good topic today. 00:00:46.91\00:00:49.74 I guess an exciting topic 00:00:49.78\00:00:51.11 because the title is, Twerk it Out. 00:00:51.15\00:00:53.28 We're talking about dancing. 00:00:53.31\00:00:54.65 Is dancing wrong? Okay. 00:00:54.68\00:00:56.05 So this is obviously a big and hot topic 00:00:56.08\00:00:58.79 in a lot of Christian circles, especially, Adventist circles. 00:00:58.82\00:01:01.62 I know that it's been frowned upon in my family. 00:01:01.66\00:01:05.29 But we want to talk about, 00:01:05.33\00:01:06.66 is it okay for us to do as Christians. 00:01:06.70\00:01:09.10 Before we get into this topic, 00:01:09.13\00:01:10.47 like always let's stop for a word of prayer. 00:01:10.50\00:01:13.87 Heavenly Father, as we discuss this topic, 00:01:13.90\00:01:16.24 we ask that You would please, please lead us and guide us 00:01:16.27\00:01:18.91 in Your Spirit now. 00:01:18.94\00:01:20.28 In Jesus' name we pray. 00:01:20.31\00:01:21.64 Amen. Amen. 00:01:21.68\00:01:23.01 All right. 00:01:23.04\00:01:24.38 Well, I'm gonna start by introducing the panel. 00:01:24.41\00:01:26.55 On the couch here to my right, I have Kim Pearson, 00:01:26.58\00:01:30.82 who is the associate chaplain at Oakwood University. 00:01:30.85\00:01:34.32 Next to her we have Brittany Hill, 00:01:34.36\00:01:36.42 who is recent graduate 00:01:36.46\00:01:37.96 at Andrews University theological seminary. 00:01:37.99\00:01:40.40 Happy that they both here. 00:01:40.43\00:01:41.76 And next to them we have another man in the group now. 00:01:41.80\00:01:45.33 We have Vaughn Edmeade. 00:01:45.37\00:01:47.67 And we are happy that he is here. 00:01:47.70\00:01:49.04 He is student at Oakwood doing his master's I believe. 00:01:49.07\00:01:51.97 That's right? Okay. 00:01:52.01\00:01:53.34 So we have a good panel. 00:01:53.38\00:01:54.71 And I, of course, 00:01:54.74\00:01:56.08 I'm Pastor Nelson from South Carolina. 00:01:56.11\00:01:58.11 We got two churches down there. 00:01:58.28\00:01:59.61 And so we're happy to be discussing this today. 00:01:59.65\00:02:02.15 This is a hot one, dancing. 00:02:02.18\00:02:04.15 And we've had, 00:02:04.19\00:02:05.52 I know that in many circles when I'm growing up, 00:02:05.55\00:02:07.59 we discuss this so many times about dancing. 00:02:07.62\00:02:09.76 So let's discuss it again today. 00:02:09.79\00:02:12.26 What do you guys think? 00:02:12.29\00:02:13.63 Is there anything wrong with, with dancing? 00:02:13.66\00:02:18.17 No body wants to incriminate themselves. 00:02:18.20\00:02:21.80 Well, I guess I'll start. 00:02:21.84\00:02:23.17 Okay. 00:02:23.20\00:02:24.54 I don't believe that there is anything wrong with dancing. 00:02:24.57\00:02:27.28 I believe that what, 00:02:27.31\00:02:30.21 it depends on what your context of dancing is, 00:02:30.25\00:02:32.98 it depends on what your, 00:02:33.01\00:02:35.15 I don't even want to necessarily say 00:02:35.18\00:02:36.52 style of dancing is, right. 00:02:36.55\00:02:37.89 Because your style of dancing 00:02:37.92\00:02:39.39 depending on what kind of context you are in, 00:02:39.42\00:02:41.76 you know, it may be appropriate so. 00:02:41.79\00:02:43.32 And the Bible definitely talks about dancing 00:02:43.36\00:02:45.79 and it speaks about in the affirmative 00:02:45.83\00:02:47.16 in many places. 00:02:47.20\00:02:48.53 So that's why I would say, I wouldn't be so quick to say 00:02:48.56\00:02:51.17 that there is anything wrong with dancing. 00:02:51.20\00:02:52.87 But we may need to discuss some circumstances 00:02:52.90\00:02:55.10 under which it might be wrong. 00:02:55.14\00:02:57.14 Okay. All right. 00:02:57.17\00:02:58.57 So we have that clear opinion there. 00:02:58.61\00:03:00.84 Kim, what do you think? 00:03:00.88\00:03:02.84 I actually happen to agree. 00:03:02.88\00:03:04.98 I don't think there is anything wrong 00:03:05.01\00:03:07.28 with dancing in context. 00:03:07.32\00:03:10.62 I can even imagine that, I don't know about you, 00:03:10.65\00:03:13.49 when I make it to heaven, 00:03:13.52\00:03:14.86 I'm not gonna be pacing around the streets of gold, 00:03:14.89\00:03:17.39 like I'm going to be worshipping like it's gonna be a party. 00:03:17.43\00:03:21.36 And I think that in the right context 00:03:21.73\00:03:23.90 I think there's nothing wrong with it 00:03:23.93\00:03:26.77 but I think the society, as often it does 00:03:26.80\00:03:30.31 can taint something that can be a good thing. 00:03:30.34\00:03:33.07 Okay, All right. Brittany. 00:03:33.11\00:03:35.08 I'm also in agreeance 00:03:35.11\00:03:37.58 because I also believe... Oh, man. 00:03:37.61\00:03:39.88 There is nothing wrong with dancing 00:03:39.91\00:03:41.85 as long as it's in its right context. 00:03:41.88\00:03:44.52 If you're going to a club, then maybe dancing 00:03:44.55\00:03:46.55 is not the right thing for you to be doing. 00:03:46.59\00:03:49.12 If you are just doing crazy moves 00:03:49.16\00:03:52.36 that are just impossible for your body then, yes. 00:03:52.39\00:03:57.47 Impossible for your body, mercy. 00:03:57.50\00:03:59.97 Yes, dancing is wrong 00:04:00.00\00:04:01.34 but if you are simply doing a two step 00:04:01.37\00:04:03.64 'cause you are praising God 00:04:03.67\00:04:05.01 or if your husband or your wife and you both of you 00:04:05.04\00:04:08.18 are just doing something in the privacy of your room, 00:04:08.21\00:04:09.94 I don't think anything is wrong 00:04:09.98\00:04:11.35 if you guys want to spice it up by dancing. 00:04:11.38\00:04:13.45 Yeah, okay, okay. 00:04:13.48\00:04:14.82 So it's pretty clear that our panel believes 00:04:14.85\00:04:17.82 that dancing, you know is not wrong. 00:04:17.85\00:04:20.99 Now they try to preface it up by saying context. 00:04:21.02\00:04:23.16 So could I go to a club and dance? 00:04:23.19\00:04:28.26 Is that okay? 00:04:28.30\00:04:29.63 Should I go to a party and dance, 00:04:29.66\00:04:31.47 I mean, is that okay? 00:04:31.50\00:04:34.14 Teach me please, tell me? 00:04:34.17\00:04:36.84 Technically you do whatever you want to do. 00:04:36.87\00:04:40.68 You go out. You could do whatever you want to do. 00:04:40.71\00:04:42.78 But I think ultimately as, as Christians, 00:04:42.81\00:04:46.51 when we subscribe to Christianity, 00:04:46.55\00:04:48.45 we subscribe to God being and His principles being, 00:04:48.48\00:04:52.49 His check point for our ethics and for our behavior. 00:04:52.52\00:04:55.82 And so the check point there would be, 00:04:55.86\00:04:58.59 "All right, Josh, you want to go to the club, 00:04:58.63\00:05:00.06 you want to dance?" 00:05:00.10\00:05:02.06 One, what's your purpose? 00:05:02.10\00:05:03.53 Right, have fun. 00:05:03.57\00:05:05.10 Okay, so you just want to go and have fun. 00:05:05.13\00:05:06.80 Have fun, yeah. 00:05:06.84\00:05:09.30 Is dancing going to glorify God? 00:05:09.34\00:05:12.97 Well, that's the thing. 00:05:13.01\00:05:14.34 You know, I think that's what 00:05:14.38\00:05:15.71 we may want to go with this thing. 00:05:15.74\00:05:17.08 And I'm just kind of answering your question 00:05:17.11\00:05:18.45 as if you're talking straight to me 00:05:18.48\00:05:19.81 because I mean, if I'm going to a club 00:05:19.85\00:05:22.28 and I know `that the music there 00:05:22.32\00:05:23.65 is not going to be glorifying God, 00:05:23.69\00:05:25.25 then maybe that's where you draw a line. 00:05:25.29\00:05:27.22 I mean, is the club itself the bad thing, 00:05:27.26\00:05:30.16 is the dancing itself the bad thing 00:05:30.19\00:05:31.53 or is it the environment really, that's the bad thing. 00:05:31.56\00:05:34.56 So I guess I had to question that 00:05:34.60\00:05:35.93 if I was gonna go to my club. 00:05:35.96\00:05:37.30 Thank you, Kim. 00:05:37.33\00:05:39.63 It's hypothetical, his asking. Yeah, yeah, yeah. 00:05:39.67\00:05:41.77 But I think that's one of the key points though, is that 00:05:41.80\00:05:46.81 already we've had to address something 00:05:46.84\00:05:49.14 before we even get to the dancing part. 00:05:49.18\00:05:51.21 Do you see what I'm saying? 00:05:51.25\00:05:52.58 Because the environment is what's dictating 00:05:52.61\00:05:54.52 what's going on inside of that club 00:05:54.55\00:05:56.58 and so really your reason for dancing 00:05:56.62\00:06:00.62 in that context has already been determined for 00:06:00.66\00:06:03.73 by your reason for going to that club 00:06:03.76\00:06:06.16 in the first place. 00:06:06.19\00:06:07.53 You see what I'm saying. 00:06:07.56\00:06:08.90 So that's why it's hard to say, because there's some, 00:06:08.93\00:06:12.03 let's say, somebody mentioned that there me be certain moves 00:06:12.07\00:06:16.07 that you do that 00:06:16.10\00:06:17.67 are those particular moves appropriate. 00:06:17.71\00:06:20.78 I mean, certain styles of dancing 00:06:20.81\00:06:23.48 have similar moves, right. 00:06:23.51\00:06:25.21 But the reason why we're doing them 00:06:25.25\00:06:27.18 may be different. 00:06:27.22\00:06:28.55 You know, so that's why I would say, 00:06:28.58\00:06:30.05 it's hard for me to even limit it to a move, 00:06:30.09\00:06:32.32 you see what I'm saying. 00:06:32.35\00:06:33.69 But why am I doing this particular move, why? 00:06:33.72\00:06:36.66 And dancing of course, come from a reaction to, 00:06:36.69\00:06:40.13 I guess, I would say, our natural reaction to music. 00:06:40.16\00:06:43.40 Because not like I mean, unless, maybe some people 00:06:43.43\00:06:45.70 would just dance just 'cause they want to dance 00:06:45.73\00:06:47.07 but a lot of times it's because of the music 00:06:47.10\00:06:51.01 or of a beat or where you're at, 00:06:51.04\00:06:53.17 you're celebrating so 00:06:53.21\00:06:55.34 should that be where we started 00:06:55.38\00:06:56.81 addressing that 00:06:56.85\00:06:58.18 because I mean, somebody would even say 00:06:58.21\00:06:59.98 you shouldn't allow the music to move you, 00:07:00.02\00:07:01.88 you know, you should just kind of 00:07:01.92\00:07:03.25 you know, sty still and that shouldn't be, 00:07:03.28\00:07:06.05 you know, your reaction to music. 00:07:06.09\00:07:08.02 I mean, what do you think? 00:07:08.06\00:07:09.52 I don't know. 00:07:09.56\00:07:10.89 When I look at examples in the Bible that say, 00:07:10.93\00:07:12.39 "Let every thing that hath breath 00:07:12.43\00:07:14.30 praise the Lord." 00:07:14.33\00:07:15.73 I'm breathing so my praise MAY look different in, 00:07:15.76\00:07:18.13 talks about the Holy Spirit, 00:07:18.17\00:07:19.83 "what was like was like fire shut up in my bones." 00:07:19.87\00:07:21.60 I don't know about you but if you ever been on fire, 00:07:21.64\00:07:23.34 well, I've never been on fire. 00:07:23.37\00:07:25.27 But I can imagine if something shut up in me 00:07:25.31\00:07:28.14 and it's trying to get out and that presence in me 00:07:28.18\00:07:30.88 does not bring to my mind something calm 00:07:30.91\00:07:34.78 and well put together 00:07:34.82\00:07:36.69 and while there is time for that 00:07:36.72\00:07:38.12 I'd like I said, I do believe 00:07:38.15\00:07:39.65 that there is a time for everything 00:07:39.69\00:07:41.29 under the sun, 00:07:41.32\00:07:42.66 which includes praising God and responding to music. 00:07:42.69\00:07:46.23 My life, the way I live, the way I interact with people 00:07:46.26\00:07:49.70 and including the way I move my body 00:07:49.73\00:07:52.03 is a reaction to what God has done for me. 00:07:52.07\00:07:55.90 Okay. So, let's just imagine that we have to conclude it 00:07:55.94\00:07:58.67 that dancing is okay, okay, I mean, let's just say 00:07:58.71\00:08:00.71 that's just the overall statement 00:08:00.74\00:08:02.08 people now agree, 00:08:02.11\00:08:03.45 maybe they don't but let's just imagine, okay. 00:08:03.48\00:08:05.21 Dancing is okay and we're, 00:08:05.25\00:08:06.58 it sounds like we're saying that 00:08:06.61\00:08:07.95 it should be in a confines of you know, 00:08:07.98\00:08:09.32 relation with God, praising God, dancing for Him. 00:08:09.35\00:08:11.59 Okay. 00:08:11.62\00:08:13.09 Are there some movements now in dancing 00:08:13.12\00:08:15.39 that would be considered wrong 'cause I'll be honest with you, 00:08:15.42\00:08:17.83 I've been to some churches now and people were dancing. 00:08:17.86\00:08:20.36 The music was going. 00:08:20.40\00:08:21.73 And I had to kind of doing, 00:08:21.76\00:08:23.47 you know, sister salsa was really, 00:08:23.50\00:08:25.17 you know, really dancing hard. 00:08:25.20\00:08:27.50 I mean, I'm not sure if that was appropriate for church. 00:08:27.54\00:08:29.67 I mean, where do you, I mean, if you're really caught up in, 00:08:29.70\00:08:32.47 you know, this, I'm doing this for God, 00:08:32.51\00:08:34.01 you know, how do you really curtail your dancing? 00:08:34.04\00:08:36.14 Where do you draw the line? 00:08:36.18\00:08:39.71 That goes back to not wanting 00:08:39.75\00:08:41.78 to cause your brother or your sister to fall, 00:08:41.82\00:08:44.15 I would say, right. 00:08:44.19\00:08:45.52 So it's not that you dance unintelligibly, right. 00:08:45.55\00:08:50.09 We have a mind so we're able to make decisions, 00:08:50.13\00:08:52.79 we're able to understand 00:08:52.83\00:08:54.36 you know, who is watching me when I dance 00:08:54.40\00:08:56.10 and let's not say that you should make your dancing 00:08:56.13\00:08:57.90 about who is watching you other than it being for God 00:08:57.93\00:09:00.84 and there maybe times like somebody said, 00:09:00.87\00:09:02.70 when you are in the privacy of your own home, 00:09:02.74\00:09:04.44 if you are person who is married, 00:09:04.47\00:09:05.81 it's just you, your husband or your wife and God, 00:09:05.84\00:09:08.81 and by all means, do what you're gonna do, right. 00:09:08.84\00:09:13.21 Right. Yeah, yeah. 00:09:13.25\00:09:14.58 However, God has given us a mind for a reason, 00:09:14.62\00:09:18.09 so we know that we're in church, 00:09:18.12\00:09:19.45 we know that's, all right, 00:09:19.49\00:09:21.99 so women have different parts than guys do. 00:09:22.02\00:09:23.53 Yeah, yeah. 00:09:23.56\00:09:24.89 And when you dance, certain parts might move. 00:09:24.93\00:09:26.90 And so in church, certain party may begin moving 00:09:26.93\00:09:30.10 or women will wear skirts, guys don't wear skirts. 00:09:30.13\00:09:33.23 So certain parts may show 00:09:33.27\00:09:34.80 if you decide to go crazy, right. 00:09:34.84\00:09:37.81 So you have to understand the environment once again 00:09:37.84\00:09:40.61 that you are in, 00:09:40.64\00:09:41.98 understand that there are other people 00:09:42.01\00:09:43.38 who will be affected by that and you don't want to, 00:09:43.41\00:09:46.01 how can you want to praise God 00:09:46.05\00:09:47.38 but yet be having a negative affect 00:09:47.42\00:09:49.08 or negative influence 00:09:49.12\00:09:50.45 on the person that is around you 00:09:50.49\00:09:52.89 causing them to fall, right. 00:09:52.92\00:09:54.26 Yeah, good point. Good point. 00:09:54.29\00:09:55.66 I'm an island girl. 00:09:55.69\00:09:57.03 So coming from the islands 00:09:57.06\00:09:58.79 we have certain dance moves that just happen. 00:09:58.83\00:10:02.40 And there are all sorts of crazy, just craziness. 00:10:02.43\00:10:07.87 But no one has to tell me when I go to church 00:10:07.90\00:10:11.14 don't do the dutty wine. 00:10:11.17\00:10:13.94 No one has to tell me not to wine, 00:10:13.98\00:10:17.28 I have to use these terms. 00:10:17.31\00:10:18.65 Wine off against one of my other brothers, 00:10:18.68\00:10:21.12 because it's just inappropriate. 00:10:21.15\00:10:22.92 It's not praising God and we know it. 00:10:22.95\00:10:25.49 So, there are certain dance moves 00:10:25.52\00:10:27.86 where you just know it's not for praising God. 00:10:27.89\00:10:30.43 It's for bringing satisfaction to yourself, 00:10:30.46\00:10:32.96 pleasure to yourself. 00:10:32.99\00:10:34.53 It's creating emotions in all parts of your body 00:10:34.56\00:10:37.93 that should probably be saved for your spouse 00:10:37.97\00:10:40.97 and not for in a public setting of worship. 00:10:41.00\00:10:43.81 It's not worship. Right. 00:10:43.84\00:10:45.17 So, I think that's where it goes. 00:10:45.21\00:10:46.54 I think that's where, you know, knowledge comes, 00:10:46.57\00:10:47.91 and I think that's where you kind of 00:10:47.94\00:10:49.28 have to draw the line 00:10:49.31\00:10:50.65 because a lot of the dance moves 00:10:50.68\00:10:52.01 and the type of dances are geared to 00:10:52.05\00:10:55.48 basically, you know, to be sexual moves, 00:10:55.52\00:10:58.55 you know, and sexual actions. 00:10:58.59\00:10:59.92 So you can stimulate those things, 00:10:59.95\00:11:01.29 you get excited and aroused in pleasure. 00:11:01.32\00:11:02.89 So, yeah. 00:11:02.92\00:11:04.26 Well, I was just going to agree on what you said 00:11:04.29\00:11:08.96 but also the idea that a lot of these moves 00:11:09.00\00:11:11.80 are meant for self glorification. 00:11:11.83\00:11:14.27 So the reason why you're twerking 00:11:14.30\00:11:16.77 or gyrating or dutty wine or whatever is, 00:11:16.81\00:11:19.57 it makes you look more attractive. 00:11:19.61\00:11:21.68 It makes you look good. That's what you're thinking. 00:11:21.71\00:11:23.48 Yeah, it makes people want you and it's all centered in, 00:11:23.51\00:11:27.58 I want to be desired, I want to be important, 00:11:27.62\00:11:29.82 I want to be looked at, me, me, me, me, me. 00:11:29.85\00:11:33.22 And when we separate that and start to say, 00:11:33.25\00:11:36.02 is this glorifying me, is this putting me first, 00:11:36.06\00:11:39.03 is this taking the attention off of Jesus 00:11:39.06\00:11:41.23 and putting the attention on me, 00:11:41.26\00:11:42.66 then the line starts to get a whole lot of less grey 00:11:42.70\00:11:45.33 and a whole lot more black and white. 00:11:45.37\00:11:47.47 Yeah. Yeah. And you'll see people now 00:11:47.50\00:11:48.84 putting out the videos of them dancing, 00:11:48.87\00:11:50.21 you know, especially with the whole twerking thing, 00:11:50.24\00:11:52.14 right, you know. 00:11:52.17\00:11:53.51 Because of the kids dancing. And kids, yeah. 00:11:53.54\00:11:55.14 And I think they got the little dolls 00:11:55.18\00:11:56.78 that are twerking. 00:11:56.81\00:11:58.21 Twerking dolls. Okay. 00:11:58.25\00:12:00.48 I mean, so it just can really go too far 00:12:00.52\00:12:04.19 with some of that stuff so, yeah. 00:12:04.22\00:12:07.72 I definitely feel that we have to create 00:12:07.76\00:12:10.86 or have a standard as Christians, you know, 00:12:10.89\00:12:15.16 I still don't know if we really said, 00:12:15.20\00:12:16.70 you know, I guess, well, I guess you call 00:12:16.73\00:12:18.07 they kind of say you shouldn't dance 00:12:18.10\00:12:19.43 unless it's for God. 00:12:19.47\00:12:20.94 I don't know if we really, you know, gonna that, 00:12:20.97\00:12:22.74 probably we gonna go that far, what do you all think, 00:12:22.77\00:12:24.17 I mean, should you draw the line and say that 00:12:24.21\00:12:26.04 or is there a time to dance when it's not, 00:12:26.07\00:12:28.21 when you are not in church. 00:12:28.24\00:12:29.58 That's what I really want to know. 00:12:29.61\00:12:31.41 Well, I think that 00:12:31.45\00:12:34.12 there are number of things that God created 00:12:34.15\00:12:36.99 I don't think that 00:12:37.02\00:12:38.35 they were necessarily created just to say 00:12:38.39\00:12:41.26 this happens when we are specifically having like 00:12:41.29\00:12:44.43 let's say a worship service, right. 00:12:44.46\00:12:46.33 He created-- Those, for those two hours. 00:12:46.36\00:12:47.70 I think what God does is He created us to be beings 00:12:47.73\00:12:51.47 who, our total lives reflect worship to Him. 00:12:51.50\00:12:55.37 And so, you can, if your life reflects worship to Him, 00:12:55.40\00:12:57.91 you can dance for fun, right. 00:12:57.94\00:13:00.38 And you know to dance appropriately 00:13:00.41\00:13:01.84 is just something that you're doing for fun. 00:13:01.88\00:13:04.41 You know, there are other things 00:13:04.45\00:13:05.78 that we just do for fun. 00:13:05.81\00:13:07.15 It's not necessarily to say that, 00:13:07.18\00:13:08.52 oh, we are trying 00:13:08.55\00:13:09.88 to actively intentionally give God worship and praise 00:13:09.92\00:13:12.75 at this very moment when we are doing this thing. 00:13:12.79\00:13:14.99 Okay. You see what I'm saying. 00:13:15.02\00:13:16.36 So you have people who dance, who do, maybe tap dancing 00:13:16.39\00:13:19.36 or you got people who do dance in the ballet, 00:13:19.39\00:13:24.57 you know, these different sorts of dancing 00:13:24.60\00:13:26.23 and you have people who are professors of dance. 00:13:26.27\00:13:29.10 Different sorts of dancing where I don't think 00:13:29.14\00:13:30.57 it's necessarily something where it's being said, 00:13:30.61\00:13:32.47 oh, when you are doing this, 00:13:32.51\00:13:34.08 you are worshipping something else intentionally 00:13:34.11\00:13:37.05 like you're just dancing. 00:13:37.08\00:13:38.41 That is what you, is, I'm a musician 00:13:38.45\00:13:40.12 so there are sometimes where I make music 00:13:40.15\00:13:41.75 and it's just, oh, well, I make music, 00:13:41.78\00:13:43.75 like anybody who knows 00:13:43.79\00:13:45.32 like certain books that you learn, 00:13:45.35\00:13:46.69 like you learn these little songs that is like, 00:13:46.72\00:13:48.12 oh, let's take a song, for instance, Happy Birthday. 00:13:48.16\00:13:51.86 We are not making the song Happy Birthday 00:13:51.89\00:13:53.86 in order to say, you know, 00:13:53.90\00:13:55.23 we're thankful that somebody had a birthday 00:13:55.26\00:13:56.60 but it's not like we're saying, 00:13:56.63\00:13:57.97 oh, we're praising and worshipping right now 00:13:58.00\00:13:59.33 during the song Happy Birthday. 00:13:59.37\00:14:00.70 But none of us would go ahead and say, 00:14:00.74\00:14:02.07 that there's something wrong with the song 00:14:02.10\00:14:03.44 and I think the same thing with dance. 00:14:03.47\00:14:04.81 You might have some dances which it's not-- 00:14:04.84\00:14:06.84 Apparently evil. 00:14:06.88\00:14:08.21 Yeah, it's not good or evil. 00:14:08.24\00:14:09.61 It's just is, I'm a Christian who is dancing, 00:14:09.64\00:14:13.08 you know what I'm saying. 00:14:13.11\00:14:14.45 Okay, okay. 00:14:14.48\00:14:15.82 Some people would definitely challenge that, 00:14:15.85\00:14:17.19 but I do like how you put that, yeah. 00:14:17.22\00:14:18.55 And I was gonna say, you know, Oakwood were planning on 00:14:18.59\00:14:22.16 taking a group of students to Kenya 00:14:22.19\00:14:23.93 on a mission trip this summer 00:14:23.96\00:14:25.29 and as we're educating them on the culture, 00:14:25.33\00:14:28.56 the Maasai people danced 00:14:28.60\00:14:30.87 and they dance as they tell stories 00:14:30.90\00:14:32.50 and that's very much a part of African culture 00:14:32.53\00:14:35.84 is dancing and moving as part of telling a story, 00:14:35.87\00:14:39.34 keeping traditions going and things like that. 00:14:39.37\00:14:42.41 And I would never go over to Kenya 00:14:42.44\00:14:44.78 and say you're sinning. 00:14:44.81\00:14:46.15 Right, right. 00:14:46.18\00:14:47.52 I think that we have` to understand context, 00:14:47.55\00:14:50.25 I think it takes a level of maturity to approach it. 00:14:50.29\00:14:55.02 Blanket statements sometimes can, sometimes 00:14:55.06\00:14:57.79 can just hinder us from being free. 00:14:57.83\00:15:02.43 And I think we were created to be free, 00:15:02.46\00:15:04.03 we were created to be free 00:15:04.07\00:15:05.50 and I think there's a time to celebrate 00:15:05.53\00:15:07.34 and I think there's a time to be still 00:15:07.37\00:15:08.70 and there's a time to worship 00:15:08.74\00:15:10.07 and the time to clap and not clap 00:15:10.11\00:15:11.97 and all those good things. 00:15:12.01\00:15:13.34 Yeah, okay. Right. 00:15:13.38\00:15:15.08 You know, sometimes, you know, what I've experienced 00:15:15.11\00:15:20.15 in the dancing conversation is that you know, 00:15:20.18\00:15:22.08 I'll be saying, well, you know, I'm gonna go salsa dancing, 00:15:22.12\00:15:26.19 I'm gonna hear, you know, 00:15:26.22\00:15:27.99 watch an African dancer do some, you know, 00:15:28.02\00:15:29.82 practice an African dance or do the tap dancing, 00:15:29.86\00:15:31.89 you were talking about earlier, some of the line dance, 00:15:31.93\00:15:33.86 you know, whatever it is, oh, that's fine, that's fine. 00:15:33.90\00:15:35.76 It's great, okay, little cultural, okay. 00:15:35.80\00:15:38.00 But then as soon as I say, you know, 00:15:38.03\00:15:39.77 we're gonna go and do some hip-hop dancing. 00:15:39.80\00:15:43.64 And there is a problem, 00:15:43.67\00:15:45.01 well, no, no, no, you can't do that. 00:15:45.04\00:15:46.37 So why do you, why is it or is there something wrong 00:15:46.41\00:15:48.71 with the hip-hop culture 00:15:48.74\00:15:50.71 in the way that we see that culture dancing 00:15:50.75\00:15:55.25 is something inherently wrong with that? 00:15:55.28\00:15:56.62 And why has society maybe or why has our church maybe, 00:15:56.65\00:15:59.12 made it seem as though, that's wrong, 00:15:59.15\00:16:02.32 you know, if you think that, 00:16:02.36\00:16:03.69 I guess you'd agree with what I'm saying 00:16:03.73\00:16:05.06 in that respect. 00:16:05.09\00:16:06.43 So what do think? What do you think? 00:16:06.46\00:16:08.36 I would assume that it deals with the fact 00:16:08.40\00:16:10.33 that hip-hop culture stems partially from Africa 00:16:10.37\00:16:15.24 and Africans, they worship their culture. 00:16:15.27\00:16:19.57 It's deeply enrooted in what assume to be paganism 00:16:19.61\00:16:22.81 and because of this 00:16:22.84\00:16:24.71 when someone sees the hip-hop culture, 00:16:24.75\00:16:27.02 they automatically assume this must have 00:16:27.05\00:16:28.82 some sort of reference to paganism. 00:16:28.85\00:16:30.75 It can't refer to any, 00:16:30.79\00:16:32.12 it can't reference to anything else. 00:16:32.15\00:16:33.86 So it must be this. 00:16:33.89\00:16:35.52 So I would assume that's probably the case. 00:16:35.56\00:16:37.79 Okay. 00:16:37.83\00:16:39.16 That's interesting you say that. 00:16:39.19\00:16:40.53 You know a lot of assumptions are made especially when they, 00:16:40.56\00:16:42.40 the culture and where the roots are in Africa and stuff 00:16:42.43\00:16:45.30 and you know, there is a lot of 00:16:45.33\00:16:46.94 other dances and other cultures that also have, 00:16:46.97\00:16:50.01 you know, roots in paganisms and stuff like that. 00:16:50.04\00:16:52.07 So, you got to be very careful with our assumptions, 00:16:52.11\00:16:54.18 especially in terms of styles of dance, you know. 00:16:54.21\00:16:59.21 Someone, Vaughn, what were you saying? 00:16:59.25\00:17:00.58 Go ahead. 00:17:00.62\00:17:01.95 Well, one thing, it's hard to talk about styles of dance 00:17:01.98\00:17:04.02 because if we are really, if we really admit, 00:17:04.05\00:17:07.36 we don't necessarily know exactly 00:17:07.39\00:17:09.42 what dancing looked like in Bible times. 00:17:09.46\00:17:12.79 You know, we can pass assumptions, 00:17:12.83\00:17:16.36 you know, maybe some of our culture today 00:17:16.40\00:17:18.40 might put some you know, 00:17:18.43\00:17:20.10 might give us some predispositions about it, 00:17:20.14\00:17:22.07 but we don't know exactly what it looked like 00:17:22.10\00:17:24.01 but you know, to give it, to talk about within context 00:17:24.04\00:17:26.24 because you know, sometimes we may argue, 00:17:26.27\00:17:27.78 especially, as young people we may argue and say, 00:17:27.81\00:17:29.74 well, we should be able to dance 00:17:29.78\00:17:31.11 and do this, you know 00:17:31.15\00:17:32.55 because David danced and you know, 00:17:32.58\00:17:34.62 David danced so much that, you know, 00:17:34.65\00:17:35.98 part of his garments fell off, blah, blah, blah, right. 00:17:36.02\00:17:38.29 But, you know, one thing that I think is important 00:17:38.32\00:17:40.46 for us as young people even understand is that 00:17:40.49\00:17:43.29 oh, and older folks also is that 00:17:43.32\00:17:45.19 David did dance and the context of that is that 00:17:45.23\00:17:47.46 David, if I recall correctly 00:17:47.50\00:17:48.83 'cause I don't have the Bible right in front of me 00:17:48.86\00:17:50.20 but if I recall correctly, he was dancing 00:17:50.23\00:17:52.07 because they had just gotten back the Ark, right. 00:17:52.10\00:17:54.57 And he is in front of the Ark and see 'cause sometimes 00:17:54.60\00:17:58.44 people may say well, 00:17:58.47\00:18:00.04 don't dance in church, you know, 00:18:00.08\00:18:01.41 and I don't, I'm not trying to be controversial 00:18:01.44\00:18:02.78 or anything about doing dance at church 00:18:02.81\00:18:04.15 but if the Ark represented, 00:18:04.18\00:18:05.55 you know, the holy of the holies, 00:18:05.58\00:18:07.72 and David is in front of this thing 00:18:07.75\00:18:09.08 and he is naturally excited because they have the Ark back 00:18:09.12\00:18:13.32 and he danced so hard that his garment fell off 00:18:13.36\00:18:16.02 and somebody, I believe it was one of his wives 00:18:16.06\00:18:19.03 came in and in essence judged him, you know, 00:18:19.06\00:18:21.80 saying, reprimand him, "Why are you acting like that? 00:18:21.83\00:18:23.80 Why are you dancing like that?" 00:18:23.83\00:18:25.17 And God rebuked her, you know, 00:18:25.20\00:18:27.27 for because she was trying to rebuke him. 00:18:27.30\00:18:29.14 But his praise at that point in time was authentic. 00:18:29.17\00:18:31.97 He was naturally excited about, 00:18:32.01\00:18:35.04 you know, that what represented 00:18:35.08\00:18:37.21 God's presence being with Israel was returned. 00:18:37.25\00:18:40.12 I even remember, you know, 00:18:40.15\00:18:42.12 I remember, when I watch sports, right, 00:18:42.15\00:18:44.12 and I'm naturally excited, there was one time 00:18:44.15\00:18:45.49 I was naturally excited and I jumped up 00:18:45.52\00:18:47.39 and I knocked my aunt right in her mouth and hurt, 00:18:47.42\00:18:50.59 you know, my aunt, right. 00:18:50.63\00:18:53.33 So, I believe God wants us to be naturally excited. 00:18:53.36\00:18:56.23 I don't think that He wants us to not dance 00:18:56.26\00:18:58.70 and I think He wants us to dance 00:18:58.73\00:19:00.37 and be even passionate and excited about our dance 00:19:00.40\00:19:02.54 but I think that He wants us first of all, 00:19:02.57\00:19:04.54 to understand our circumstances, right. 00:19:04.57\00:19:06.41 So, David didn't even notice that somebody is watching him 00:19:06.44\00:19:08.38 and I'm sure if he knew that somebody is watching him, 00:19:08.41\00:19:10.31 he wouldn't have danced at a point 00:19:10.35\00:19:11.68 where some of his cloths were falling off, right. 00:19:11.71\00:19:13.58 But I think that it's important for us 00:19:13.62\00:19:16.58 to be mindful of our surroundings 00:19:16.62\00:19:19.12 but God is looking for us to have a natural excitement 00:19:19.15\00:19:22.72 and affection towards Him and the things of Him. 00:19:22.76\00:19:26.09 Right, right. 00:19:26.13\00:19:27.46 And that's an interesting point you know, 00:19:27.50\00:19:28.83 that He gave us this desire to dance, 00:19:28.86\00:19:31.10 to move in excitement, you know, 00:19:31.13\00:19:32.67 to move our limbs 00:19:32.70\00:19:34.04 and be excited about things, you know, 00:19:34.07\00:19:36.10 and to move with the rhythm of the music that He has given. 00:19:36.14\00:19:39.81 And that then lead us back 00:19:39.84\00:19:41.44 to what is moving or driving our dancing, you know. 00:19:41.48\00:19:46.21 Is it the music that glorifies the devil 00:19:46.25\00:19:49.68 or things of the world that is moving our body, 00:19:49.72\00:19:53.62 you know, in essence, could be leading us 00:19:53.66\00:19:56.56 to move our lives and our decisions, 00:19:56.59\00:19:59.06 you know, and our choices 00:19:59.09\00:20:00.43 and the music that we are listening to? 00:20:00.46\00:20:01.80 So, are we being moved and changed 00:20:01.83\00:20:03.57 by the godly music, by the things of God 00:20:03.60\00:20:06.07 or we've been moved by the world? 00:20:06.10\00:20:07.90 So I think that's a good principle 00:20:07.94\00:20:09.84 that we can use when consideration dancing. 00:20:09.87\00:20:11.87 Is there any principles that we can maybe add to that? 00:20:11.91\00:20:13.74 Well, I was gonna say, you know, 00:20:13.78\00:20:15.81 a lot of times we want to justify our behavior. 00:20:15.84\00:20:20.62 I mean, let's just be clear, twerking is wrong. 00:20:20.65\00:20:23.39 I mean, you can dress it up, you can dance, 00:20:23.42\00:20:26.35 you can add on to it, whatever you want to say, 00:20:26.39\00:20:29.42 but at the end of the day 00:20:29.46\00:20:30.99 you know that twerking is wrong. 00:20:31.03\00:20:32.63 When you're tewrking, and when you're dancing, 00:20:32.66\00:20:35.03 most of the time the camera is not on your face, 00:20:35.06\00:20:38.43 it's on the rest of your body. 00:20:38.47\00:20:40.34 And so it's a lot of that self glorification 00:20:40.37\00:20:44.41 so I think the other principle to put in there is 00:20:44.44\00:20:47.18 am I glorifying self, am I putting self first, 00:20:47.21\00:20:49.48 am I putting God first. 00:20:49.51\00:20:50.95 I went to a ballet 00:20:50.98\00:20:52.58 and I was so inspired by the way 00:20:52.61\00:20:55.82 that they were moving their body 00:20:55.85\00:20:57.49 like I was like, wow, how did the human body do that. 00:20:57.52\00:21:00.19 And for me, I was so impressed, I was like man, 00:21:00.22\00:21:03.09 God, we are truly, fearfully and wonderfully made. 00:21:03.12\00:21:06.59 But sometimes we want to, 00:21:07.03\00:21:09.73 we take that out of the wrong way. 00:21:09.76\00:21:12.47 When you are fearfully and wonderfully made, 00:21:12.50\00:21:14.17 doesn't mean, doesn't mean 00:21:14.20\00:21:16.20 display that for everybody else, 00:21:16.24\00:21:18.84 you know, for everybody else to see. 00:21:18.87\00:21:20.68 So, at the end of the day what does the Bible say? 00:21:20.71\00:21:23.24 Yeah, yeah. 00:21:23.28\00:21:24.61 If Jesus was standing right there, 00:21:24.65\00:21:25.98 how would He feel about it? 00:21:26.01\00:21:27.35 Right, right. 00:21:27.38\00:21:28.72 Ok, Brittany, do you want to add anything to that? 00:21:28.75\00:21:30.85 Okay. It's all right. All right. 00:21:30.89\00:21:33.52 So another thing we have to discuss 00:21:33.56\00:21:35.96 and talk about is the baseline of music. 00:21:35.99\00:21:38.39 I think a lot of people feel that 00:21:38.43\00:21:40.06 the reason why you're dancing these crazy ways 00:21:40.10\00:21:42.56 is because of the beat, you know, 00:21:42.60\00:21:44.47 the beat that's in there is kind of 00:21:44.50\00:21:46.03 moving to do some unholy things, you know, 00:21:46.07\00:21:48.20 so you think there's something in that, 00:21:48.24\00:21:50.67 you know, to say that there are just some syncopations 00:21:50.71\00:21:52.81 and some type of music that it's just wrong, 00:21:52.84\00:21:54.84 that shouldn't because it's gonna make you 00:21:54.88\00:21:56.31 react in a devilish way, 00:21:56.34\00:21:57.88 we can say like that, what do you think? 00:21:57.91\00:22:02.58 I would have to say, no. 00:22:02.62\00:22:04.75 And the reason why I wouldn't say that 00:22:04.79\00:22:07.72 the baseline has anything to do with this 00:22:07.76\00:22:09.42 because I mean, a lot of baselines 00:22:09.46\00:22:11.99 in many songs are the same, 00:22:12.03\00:22:13.36 especially when you talk about Western culture, 00:22:13.40\00:22:15.13 a lot of the baselines are the same. 00:22:15.16\00:22:16.50 That's exactly why musicians can play a song 00:22:16.53\00:22:18.97 and if they hear it they'll know, you know, 00:22:19.00\00:22:20.70 how the song is transitioning 00:22:20.74\00:22:22.14 because there's just a certain way 00:22:22.34\00:22:23.67 that Western culture's music moves, right. 00:22:23.71\00:22:27.08 And all of those songs have base in it. 00:22:27.11\00:22:28.68 But even if you go to songs that we traditionally 00:22:28.71\00:22:32.01 or music that we traditionally accept 00:22:32.05\00:22:34.32 such as let's say classical, for instance, right. 00:22:34.35\00:22:36.48 Those, if you go to a symphony, they have bases, 00:22:36.52\00:22:39.59 big standing bases 00:22:39.62\00:22:40.96 and sometimes when I'm listening to a classical piece, 00:22:40.99\00:22:43.36 I'm moving with the music also, you know. 00:22:43.39\00:22:45.66 And when you look often at moves, 00:22:45.69\00:22:47.66 let's say such as twerking, 00:22:47.70\00:22:49.50 which we kind of know just by looking at it 00:22:49.53\00:22:53.23 that there's something just not right with that, right. 00:22:53.27\00:22:56.20 When we look at that, that something that 00:22:56.24\00:22:59.27 a lot of dance moves that people do today, 00:22:59.31\00:23:01.34 which we may consider inappropriate 00:23:01.38\00:23:03.28 are things that they go home and actually practice. 00:23:03.31\00:23:05.48 It actually doesn't necessarily, 00:23:05.51\00:23:06.85 like I don't know anybody who began twerking 00:23:06.88\00:23:10.09 simply because they heard a baseline. 00:23:10.12\00:23:12.25 Okay. Do you see what I'm saying? 00:23:12.29\00:23:13.82 But because they were trying to find out, 00:23:13.86\00:23:15.96 well, what can I do to bring more attention to myself 00:23:15.99\00:23:19.33 and separate my dancing from all the other dancing 00:23:19.36\00:23:21.70 that's out there 00:23:21.73\00:23:23.06 then, I have to go home and sit and find a way, 00:23:23.10\00:23:24.90 what can I do to make things more, spice things up, 00:23:24.93\00:23:27.04 make things more interesting and bring it back, you know. 00:23:27.07\00:23:29.67 So it goes back to the, I mean, a base, 00:23:29.70\00:23:34.44 God created the lower ending sound, 00:23:34.48\00:23:37.38 you see what I'm saying. 00:23:37.41\00:23:38.75 Like it's not, it's, we didn't create it, right. 00:23:38.78\00:23:41.52 Satan didn't even create it. 00:23:41.55\00:23:42.98 God created that. 00:23:43.02\00:23:44.35 But He created it for His glory, 00:23:44.39\00:23:47.22 you see what I'm saying. 00:23:47.26\00:23:48.59 So-- Okay. 00:23:48.62\00:23:49.96 And I mean, also we're looking at too 00:23:49.99\00:23:51.33 with the whole baseline thing 00:23:51.36\00:23:52.69 as lot of times you go to some churches 00:23:52.73\00:23:54.06 and certain, you know, 00:23:54.10\00:23:55.43 you wonder are people really dancing and moving 00:23:55.46\00:23:57.47 because of the word, because of the presence of God 00:23:57.50\00:24:00.60 or it's because that person hit that key, that chord, 00:24:00.64\00:24:02.74 adjust that right way, 00:24:02.77\00:24:04.11 you know, or the base was doing the right thing, you know. 00:24:04.14\00:24:06.47 So I think we have to consider that as well 00:24:06.51\00:24:09.64 to make sure that we're not just getting moved 00:24:09.68\00:24:12.31 against our will by the music 00:24:12.35\00:24:15.42 but that again, you know, you were saying before, 00:24:15.45\00:24:16.79 the excitement, the genuine excitement 00:24:16.82\00:24:18.15 that you have for, you know, just natural reaction to it. 00:24:18.19\00:24:22.22 So we are making clear that we are not saying 00:24:22.26\00:24:24.49 we need to go to clubs, don't go no parties 00:24:24.53\00:24:28.90 and we're dancing all crazy with this music and stuff. 00:24:28.93\00:24:31.30 You got to first remember that you are the child of God, 00:24:31.33\00:24:33.57 you have a reputation to uphold 00:24:33.60\00:24:35.90 because you are a citizen of the kingdom 00:24:35.94\00:24:39.14 and so your action should mirror that. 00:24:39.17\00:24:41.84 Okay, go ahead. 00:24:41.88\00:24:43.21 I was gonna say that I think a lot of times 00:24:43.24\00:24:44.81 we have to remember that we are advertisements. 00:24:44.85\00:24:47.65 We are walking billboards. 00:24:47.68\00:24:49.58 So whatever I'm doing, I'm advertising something. 00:24:49.62\00:24:53.02 If I go and I get a sandwich from a restaurant 00:24:53.05\00:24:56.22 and I'm eating it, I'm advertising that sandwich 00:24:56.26\00:24:58.83 to the people who are around me. 00:24:58.86\00:25:00.33 If I'm moving my body in a certain way, 00:25:00.36\00:25:02.06 I'm advertising something. I'm giving a message. 00:25:02.10\00:25:05.27 So what message am I portraying? 00:25:05.30\00:25:07.20 When I show up at that party, 00:25:07.24\00:25:09.47 and the music is going or whatever, 00:25:09.50\00:25:11.17 what message am I sending by one, by being there, 00:25:11.21\00:25:14.28 but two, by the way I'm moving my body. 00:25:14.31\00:25:15.84 When I'm in charge and I'm doing whatever, 00:25:15.88\00:25:18.65 what message, what billboard, what am I advertising, 00:25:18.68\00:25:21.62 am I advertising worship, am I advertising praise, 00:25:21.65\00:25:24.19 am I advertising myself or my cloths, 00:25:24.22\00:25:27.16 am I advertising the beat, am I advertising the musicians, 00:25:27.19\00:25:30.89 who am I presenting when I present me 00:25:30.93\00:25:33.96 when whatever way that looks like. 00:25:34.00\00:25:35.46 That's a good one. 00:25:35.50\00:25:36.83 And I think to go along with that, 00:25:36.87\00:25:38.23 I think part of is that we need to abide in Christ 00:25:38.27\00:25:42.30 because dancing is one of those subjects 00:25:42.34\00:25:44.74 that is hard to-- like we said, 00:25:44.77\00:25:47.18 put an overarching rule or law on 00:25:47.21\00:25:51.15 to say that every single, we know exactly what is right, 00:25:51.18\00:25:54.28 what is wrong, blah, blah, blah. 00:25:54.32\00:25:55.65 But when we have a relationship, 00:25:55.68\00:25:57.02 there is certain thing, there's certain way 00:25:57.05\00:25:58.39 that I treat my mother, and I treat my father 00:25:58.42\00:25:59.85 and my brothers and sisters and friends 00:25:59.89\00:26:01.66 simply because I've abide with them 00:26:01.69\00:26:03.76 to the point where I know what pleases them 00:26:03.79\00:26:05.23 and what wouldn't please them. 00:26:05.26\00:26:06.59 And I think it's the same thing with God, 00:26:06.63\00:26:07.96 like we have to get to a point where we are in His presence 00:26:08.00\00:26:10.07 so much that even if there's not necessarily a law or rule 00:26:10.10\00:26:13.34 against or for something, 00:26:13.37\00:26:15.20 we can kind of begin to sense how does God feel about it 00:26:15.24\00:26:17.64 simply because we've been in His presence so much 00:26:17.67\00:26:19.67 that we just know Him so well so we can say, 00:26:19.71\00:26:22.44 you know what, that wouldn't please my Father up in heaven. 00:26:22.48\00:26:24.51 I'm gonna stay away from it. 00:26:24.55\00:26:26.21 Wow, and really having, 00:26:26.25\00:26:28.22 you know, the-- I guess, the ability to do that, 00:26:28.25\00:26:32.62 you know, the passion for God to do that and not say, 00:26:32.65\00:26:35.36 oh, well, I'm too embarrassed to do that. 00:26:35.39\00:26:37.19 I'm too shy to do that. 00:26:37.23\00:26:38.56 But being bold, I guess this is one way for being bold 00:26:38.59\00:26:40.53 to be that for God. 00:26:40.56\00:26:42.13 So I appreciate that. 00:26:42.16\00:26:43.50 All right, real quick you guys, 00:26:43.53\00:26:44.87 we're gonna move to our rapid fire questions. 00:26:44.90\00:26:46.23 You have 10 seconds to answer these questions, okay? 00:26:46.27\00:26:48.20 These random questions, ya'll ready? 00:26:48.24\00:26:50.44 All right, here they go. All right, here they go. 00:26:50.47\00:26:52.34 All right. 00:26:52.37\00:26:53.71 Should you still be in church and live in a sinful life? 00:26:53.74\00:26:58.48 Kim, what do you think? 00:26:58.51\00:27:00.95 Yes, I think if you're sick, you go to the hospital. 00:27:00.98\00:27:04.59 If I have a disease, I go the where the cure is, 00:27:04.62\00:27:06.42 So if I'm sinning, 00:27:06.45\00:27:07.79 I need to get to Jesus 'cause He's the cure. 00:27:07.82\00:27:09.16 Okay.
