Now what I want you
to notice is that here

John is simply hearing the
names of the seven churches

and it's been uttered
by a voice that he hears.

Now the question is, why
do you have seven churches?

The fact is that they were many
other churches in Asia Minor.

was the church of Troas

There was the church of
Assos also in Asia Minor.

Miletus was there.

Colossae, Hierapolis, Magnesia
and we could go on and on

that they were other churches
in Asia Minor at this time.

And yet in Revelation 1:10, 11

we find only seven
specific churches named by name.

is why these particular seven?
