Welcome to ASI Video Magazine. I am Conna Bond. 00:06:14.88\00:06:18.78 I'd look like it, okay, today 00:06:18.81\00:06:22.15 one of the best things about being an ASI member 00:06:23.12\00:06:25.72 is that you many opportunities to collaborate 00:06:25.75\00:06:28.30 with other. Yes, okay that's right, good, got it, 00:06:28.33\00:06:34.40 some have ideas, some have resources, 00:06:34.43\00:06:35.92 some have time and energy. Okay. 00:06:35.95\00:06:37.32 The One-Day Church is one of those ideas, 00:06:38.17\00:06:41.47 a solid steel structure church, 00:06:43.86\00:06:46.87 design an affordable steel church structure kit, 00:06:49.25\00:06:51.59 an affordable steel church structure kit. 00:06:51.62\00:06:54.13 Ideas, resources, time and energy. 00:06:54.16\00:06:55.72 Some have ideas, some have resources, 00:06:55.75\00:06:58.77 and some, some have resources 00:06:58.80\00:07:03.19 and some have the time and energy to make those ideas 00:07:03.22\00:07:05.84 come to live. Okay, okay, we're going to do this. 00:07:05.87\00:07:11.00 Okay. Welcome to ASI Video Magazine, I am Conna Bond. 00:07:14.08\00:07:17.34 Today, we'll visit two mission projects here 00:07:17.37\00:07:19.50 in Southern Africa, where ASI members are meeting 00:07:19.53\00:07:22.16 the physical and spiritual needs of people in Zambia, 00:07:22.19\00:07:25.02 and Tanzania. In both of these countries, 00:07:25.05\00:07:27.63 there is a whole lot of building going on. 00:07:27.66\00:07:29.46 Good morning, I'm Conna Bond, and for the past year 00:07:43.21\00:07:47.07 I have been serving a Communication Director 00:07:47.10\00:07:48.83 for ASI, and it has been the most amazing experience, 00:07:48.86\00:07:51.44 the most amazing blessing to me. 00:07:51.47\00:07:52.97 As a little girl I always wanted to go traveling 00:07:53.00\00:07:55.99 around the world. My parents had been 00:07:56.02\00:07:57.48 missionaries, my older brother and sisters 00:07:57.51\00:07:58.97 grew up in the mission field, 00:07:59.00\00:08:00.49 and I wanted to travel too but those opportunities 00:08:00.52\00:08:02.53 never came until last March ASI sent me to Africa, 00:08:02.56\00:08:06.46 I went to Zambia and Tanzania. 00:08:06.49\00:08:08.11 They ask me to make two more episodes 00:08:08.70\00:08:11.31 of the ASI Video Magazine, 00:08:11.34\00:08:13.60 and I felt completely unequipped for the task, 00:08:13.63\00:08:16.58 and as you can see I learned by trial and error. 00:08:16.61\00:08:19.31 And over the past ten or so years, 00:08:19.34\00:08:21.64 I have worked as a team with my husband. 00:08:21.67\00:08:23.17 He is a designer, a graphic designer, 00:08:23.20\00:08:26.02 and I have been a writer, 00:08:26.05\00:08:27.35 and I have worked with many people, who are creative 00:08:27.72\00:08:30.70 and who are known as being very creative people. 00:08:30.73\00:08:32.93 And I know that many of you have not concept 00:08:33.54\00:08:36.55 of what goes into creating a video, or a painting, 00:08:36.58\00:08:40.02 or a piece of music. It took my husband 00:08:40.05\00:08:42.38 and I probably eight hours to create just that 00:08:42.41\00:08:45.32 little short three minute video for you. 00:08:45.35\00:08:47.34 I had to choose between just twenty five photos 00:08:47.91\00:08:51.88 of Africa from thousands that I took while 00:08:51.91\00:08:54.55 I was there, and I wanted them to represent 00:08:54.58\00:08:56.56 the package of what Africa was like, 00:08:56.59\00:08:58.25 what it tasted like, what it felt like, 00:08:58.28\00:08:59.89 what it smelled like. I wanted you to feel like 00:08:59.92\00:09:02.57 you were there, but I can only choose a few photos. 00:09:02.60\00:09:04.98 People call this process of making choices 00:09:05.01\00:09:08.79 and creating a visual or a 00:09:08.82\00:09:10.82 musical product, creativity. 00:09:10.85\00:09:13.08 And I have pondered that concept of creativity 00:09:13.86\00:09:17.28 many times over the years, and I has some convictions 00:09:17.31\00:09:20.48 about it that I like to share 00:09:20.51\00:09:22.11 with you this morning. 00:09:22.14\00:09:23.11 I have often seen people approach a musician 00:09:23.12\00:09:26.06 or an artist and say something like 00:09:26.09\00:09:27.99 that was such a beautiful song, you're so gifted, 00:09:28.02\00:09:30.91 you're so talented, and there's almost 00:09:30.94\00:09:33.47 a wistfulness in their voices as if to say 00:09:33.50\00:09:35.68 I wish I had gifts and talents like that. 00:09:35.71\00:09:37.74 And that has bothered me and I tried for years 00:09:38.49\00:09:40.90 to figure out why and I've come to this conclusion. 00:09:40.93\00:09:44.41 I believe that we as humans don't understand 00:09:44.44\00:09:48.29 the Biblical concept of creativity. 00:09:48.32\00:09:51.46 I think our definition is too narrow. 00:09:51.85\00:09:54.20 Maybe we missed the boat all together. 00:09:54.23\00:09:56.59 Let me ask you and share this with you in the context 00:09:56.62\00:10:00.59 of this question. When the Lord created wheat, 00:10:00.62\00:10:03.37 and then we grounded into flour, 00:10:03.88\00:10:06.59 and we made a loaf of bread. 00:10:06.62\00:10:07.84 Did the Lord look down and say wow, what a great idea, 00:10:07.87\00:10:11.20 I never though of that. 00:10:11.23\00:10:12.42 The Bible says there is nothing new under the sun, 00:10:15.51\00:10:19.10 that most certainly is true with God. 00:10:19.13\00:10:21.34 I believe that we cannot surprise him. 00:10:21.37\00:10:23.33 And I am convinced that everyone of our actions 00:10:24.02\00:10:27.29 is one of two things it's either creative 00:10:27.32\00:10:30.50 or destructive, and that means 00:10:30.53\00:10:33.92 we are either building up the kingdom of God, 00:10:33.95\00:10:36.38 or we are tearing it down. 00:10:36.41\00:10:38.34 We as humans are incapable of creating 00:10:38.90\00:10:41.95 anything out of nothing. 00:10:41.98\00:10:44.26 Does that concept disturb you? I am afraid 00:10:44.93\00:10:48.13 we often like to take credit where credit 00:10:48.16\00:10:50.90 is not due, but the simple fact is we do not create, 00:10:50.93\00:10:54.72 but we do participate in the creative process, 00:10:54.75\00:10:58.23 and I've been convicted of this for years 00:10:58.26\00:11:00.37 but just a few days ago I came across 00:11:00.40\00:11:02.13 this wonderful quote by Ellen White. 00:11:02.16\00:11:04.05 She writes, a human artist receives 00:11:04.08\00:11:08.38 his intelligence from God. You could put 00:11:08.41\00:11:10.78 any word there, a human physician, a human teacher, 00:11:10.81\00:11:13.63 a human artist receives his intelligence from God, 00:11:14.57\00:11:17.89 he can only fashion his work in any line 00:11:17.92\00:11:20.88 to perfection from materials 00:11:20.91\00:11:23.16 already prepared for his work. 00:11:23.19\00:11:24.97 In his finite power he could not create, 00:11:25.68\00:11:28.00 and make his materials to serve his purpose, 00:11:28.03\00:11:30.65 if the great designer had not been before him, 00:11:30.68\00:11:34.10 giving him the very improvements 00:11:34.13\00:11:36.78 first in his imagination. 00:11:36.81\00:11:39.12 The Lord God commands things into his, into being. 00:11:39.67\00:11:43.11 He was the first designer. He is not dependent on man, 00:11:43.14\00:11:47.18 but graciously invites man's attention 00:11:47.21\00:11:50.05 and cooperates with him in progressive 00:11:50.08\00:11:52.99 and higher designs. What did God use to create? 00:11:53.02\00:11:58.75 Can you tell me? His word. 00:12:00.05\00:12:03.59 Nothing will make you more creative than reading 00:12:05.01\00:12:09.36 his word, communicating his word, 00:12:09.39\00:12:12.34 living his word out in your life. 00:12:12.37\00:12:15.01 When you speak words of encouragement 00:12:15.04\00:12:17.77 you are being creative. When you are patient, kind, 00:12:17.80\00:12:21.74 gentle and understanding you are being creative. 00:12:21.77\00:12:24.65 When you heal the sick and comfort the broken hearted, 00:12:24.68\00:12:28.14 you are being creative. You are building up 00:12:28.17\00:12:32.04 the kingdom of God, and you are rebelling against 00:12:32.07\00:12:35.45 the destructive forces that are trying to tear it down. 00:12:35.48\00:12:38.69 Now the nice thing about this is that 00:12:40.37\00:12:41.87 it frees us up to truly appreciate each other's 00:12:41.90\00:12:45.74 contributions and efforts. When you tell a musician 00:12:45.77\00:12:49.64 thank you for that beautiful song 00:12:49.67\00:12:51.50 or you tella pastor I really appreciated that sermon, 00:12:51.53\00:12:54.82 you are simply saying thank you for choosing 00:12:54.85\00:12:58.24 to participate in the creative process. 00:12:58.27\00:13:00.93 Thank you for letting God use you for choosing 00:13:00.96\00:13:04.66 to be creative instead of destructive. 00:13:04.69\00:13:07.66 We're commanded to encourage one and another 00:13:07.69\00:13:10.35 and build each other up and that means having 00:13:10.38\00:13:13.53 appreciation for each other's efforts. 00:13:13.56\00:13:15.28 One last thought, that quote pointed to God 00:13:16.58\00:13:19.56 is the great designer, and that means 00:13:19.59\00:13:21.61 and this is the best news. He is the one 00:13:21.64\00:13:24.33 who does the editing in your life. 00:13:24.36\00:13:26.35 He chooses what will be part of your final story. 00:13:26.38\00:13:30.14 He selects the twenty five pictures that will represent 00:13:30.17\00:13:34.53 the trend of your choices in your life. 00:13:34.56\00:13:37.14 You may feel like your life is a series of outtakes 00:13:37.17\00:13:40.58 and blunders like you saw on the screen today, 00:13:40.61\00:13:43.92 but I promise to his mercy and grace, those mistakes 00:13:44.77\00:13:47.96 and those blunders will not make the final cut. 00:13:47.99\00:13:50.24 He will present you in the light of his righteousness 00:13:50.27\00:13:53.82 and through the lenses of his wisdom not yours. 00:13:53.85\00:13:57.41 And that's the good news that is the good news 00:13:58.33\00:14:01.13 that we have to share with the world. 00:14:01.16\00:14:03.05 Now having redefined creativity 00:14:03.08\00:14:05.39 I like to introduce you to some friends 00:14:05.42\00:14:07.02 that I've had the opportunity to meet 00:14:07.05\00:14:08.60 over the past year. I get to talk to a lot of ASI members 00:14:08.63\00:14:12.14 and these are people who are building up 00:14:12.17\00:14:14.02 the kingdom of God. These are creative people 00:14:14.05\00:14:16.27 and first of all I like to introduce you 00:14:16.30\00:14:18.19 to two young men I met, I just met them 00:14:18.22\00:14:20.38 a few weeks ago at the General Conference session, 00:14:20.41\00:14:22.63 and I interviewed them on the Adventist Mission stage. 00:14:22.66\00:14:25.94 It was a wonderful experience, 00:14:25.97\00:14:27.42 they were so inspiring to me. 00:14:27.45\00:14:28.95 These young men represent what we talk about, 00:14:28.98\00:14:31.90 what we heard about last night in the sermon, 00:14:31.93\00:14:33.71 they are not normal, and when you listen to them 00:14:33.74\00:14:36.61 share their story, you will know why. 00:14:36.64\00:14:38.53 This is Jose Suazo and Jesse Zwicker, 00:14:38.56\00:14:42.00 they are both twenty four, but they met when 00:14:42.03\00:14:44.43 they were both about eighteen, 00:14:44.46\00:14:45.89 and they were attending European Bible school. 00:14:45.92\00:14:48.38 Tell us a little bit about what happened 00:14:48.41\00:14:51.10 when you met and what you are doing now. 00:14:51.13\00:14:53.32 Well at the European Bible school we were receiving 00:14:54.40\00:14:57.14 some training, some tools on how we as young people 00:14:57.17\00:15:00.54 could be effective missionaries, 00:15:00.57\00:15:01.82 and that when I encountered this guy. 00:15:01.85\00:15:04.72 He is actually from Switzerland, 00:15:04.75\00:15:06.00 and God has all these heavenly appointments, 00:15:06.03\00:15:08.18 and he helps you meet just the right people 00:15:08.21\00:15:10.93 at the right, amen. Amen. 00:15:10.96\00:15:12.47 And so I managed to meet this guy, 00:15:12.50\00:15:14.04 and I was telling him about my experience 00:15:14.07\00:15:16.25 as an Adventist, well my short experiences 00:15:16.28\00:15:19.04 as an Adventist because I didn't have the privilege 00:15:19.07\00:15:21.31 of being born in the precious truth 00:15:21.34\00:15:24.62 that we as Adventists have, 00:15:24.65\00:15:26.16 and so I was relating with him, 00:15:26.19\00:15:28.57 and we had the same burden of doing mission work 00:15:28.60\00:15:30.84 and I was telling him about this place in Honduras 00:15:30.87\00:15:33.38 where I felt that the Lord had called me 00:15:33.41\00:15:36.09 to start doing the work, and he would tell me 00:15:36.12\00:15:38.27 how he was inspired to go do the same thing 00:15:38.30\00:15:41.49 in Switzerland, and I was trying to persuade 00:15:41.52\00:15:43.42 come on Jesse, lets go to Honduras, 00:15:43.45\00:15:45.07 and lets work in Honduras. 00:15:45.10\00:15:46.07 Now this has not always been the vision that 00:15:46.10\00:15:48.39 you had for you lives right. 00:15:48.42\00:15:49.54 What did you see yourself doing Jesse 00:15:49.57\00:15:52.78 before this all came together? 00:15:52.81\00:15:54.18 Well, I grow up in Switzerland, 00:15:54.21\00:15:56.77 and in Switzerland you know Adventism 00:15:56.80\00:15:58.77 is not very strongly defined in many areas. 00:15:58.80\00:16:01.79 So I was an Adventist and I would go to church 00:16:01.82\00:16:04.20 and do you know the things on Sabbath 00:16:04.23\00:16:06.19 but I had my own life, I like to play the drums, 00:16:06.22\00:16:10.60 I would go all over Germany and Switzerland 00:16:10.63\00:16:13.64 and do tours and play the drums and playing the bass 00:16:13.67\00:16:16.47 and doing all that nice things that I like to do 00:16:16.50\00:16:19.30 till God, he's like, he's like come on, 00:16:19.33\00:16:22.67 do something smart you know. 00:16:22.70\00:16:24.50 So your calling, like you said at the 00:16:26.43\00:16:28.50 general conference session, your calling 00:16:28.53\00:16:29.56 was not to preach the drums then. 00:16:29.59\00:16:31.10 He had another message for you to share. 00:16:31.13\00:16:33.42 I would always read Matthew 28, 00:16:33.45\00:16:35.87 and you know all these gospel commissions, I was, 00:16:35.90\00:16:38.17 you know go and play the drums on to every nation 00:16:38.20\00:16:40.76 right this is what I would dream, and then suddenly 00:16:40.79\00:16:43.67 I started reading it again 00:16:43.70\00:16:44.82 and I'm like like preach the Gospel. 00:16:44.85\00:16:46.54 I don't know how to preach the Gospel of every nation, 00:16:46.57\00:16:48.97 how am I going to do this you know, 00:16:49.00\00:16:50.65 I need to get some training, so that's where 00:16:50.68\00:16:52.70 I decided I needed to go to Norway 00:16:52.73\00:16:54.47 to this European Bible school. 00:16:54.50\00:16:55.76 In all of Switzerland there is no mission school. 00:16:55.79\00:16:58.35 There is no mission school in all of 00:16:58.38\00:16:59.77 or there was no mission school in all of Germany 00:16:59.80\00:17:01.85 and so forth. So I went to Norway and met this guy, 00:17:01.88\00:17:04.98 and this is the guy that got me 00:17:05.01\00:17:06.38 into this whole mess. So tell us about 00:17:06.41\00:17:09.82 this whole mess that you have been going on 00:17:09.85\00:17:11.22 in Honduras. You went back home, 00:17:11.25\00:17:12.98 now you hadn't been brought up, you weren't a Adventist, 00:17:13.01\00:17:15.30 you went to, was it Laurelbrook Academy, 00:17:15.33\00:17:17.01 an aunt sent you there, I guess you like some of the 00:17:17.04\00:17:20.04 missionary kids that came down from there 00:17:20.07\00:17:21.66 and decided you needed to go to school there, 00:17:21.69\00:17:23.36 so what happened there. 00:17:23.39\00:17:24.36 Well, actually what happened is that 00:17:24.37\00:17:25.99 I was not born in an Adventist church, 00:17:26.02\00:17:27.89 actually my mother was evangelical. 00:17:27.92\00:17:29.31 There was only three people that could preach 00:17:29.34\00:17:30.63 in her evangelical church, the pastor, 00:17:30.66\00:17:32.72 another old guy and my mother. 00:17:32.75\00:17:34.40 And so we were raised as Christians, 00:17:34.43\00:17:36.24 but we have never encountered 00:17:36.27\00:17:37.44 the wonderful truths as we as Adventists have 00:17:37.47\00:17:39.66 and this mission trip from this academy in the States 00:17:39.69\00:17:42.49 came over and stayed in my aunt's camp. 00:17:42.52\00:17:44.89 My aunt is also a leader in the evangelical church, 00:17:44.92\00:17:46.92 and she was so impressed that these young people, 00:17:46.95\00:17:48.92 how these young people were able to get out 00:17:48.95\00:17:51.19 of their comfort zone, preach the Gospel, 00:17:51.22\00:17:53.34 build churches and do all these exciting things, 00:17:53.37\00:17:55.42 and she says this has to be something 00:17:55.45\00:17:58.55 that I want for my daughter, 00:17:58.58\00:18:00.03 so she send my cousin, and you know how aunts are 00:18:00.06\00:18:02.42 and so my aunt goes to my house and tells my mother 00:18:02.45\00:18:05.02 and tells my family about it, 00:18:05.05\00:18:06.02 and I felt the Holy Spirit 00:18:06.03\00:18:07.02 calling me to go to this school. 00:18:07.05\00:18:08.55 I went to the school, I was arguing like crazy 00:18:08.58\00:18:11.13 because I did not understand hell, 00:18:11.16\00:18:12.23 what are you talking about, there is no hell. 00:18:12.26\00:18:13.73 There is hell, it's in the Bible. But then I guess, 00:18:13.76\00:18:16.85 I really don't know why they accept non-Adventist 00:18:16.88\00:18:19.53 into Adventist schools, but I praise the Lord 00:18:19.56\00:18:22.77 because the Dean asked me to study the Bible 00:18:22.80\00:18:25.64 and I was studying the amazing facts guide book 00:18:25.67\00:18:28.95 and I just ate everything up. I could not believe 00:18:28.98\00:18:32.55 that I didn't know all these things before, 00:18:32.58\00:18:35.21 and so I accepted the Adventist message, 00:18:35.24\00:18:36.66 got baptized, and actually the day after 00:18:36.69\00:18:39.90 I got baptized I had to preach on the mark 00:18:39.93\00:18:41.43 of the beast you know because Laurelbrook 00:18:41.46\00:18:43.28 has a very intensive Bible program, 00:18:43.31\00:18:45.78 and so they teach you all these things 00:18:45.81\00:18:47.14 and then I had this bread in almost in anger. 00:18:47.17\00:18:49.52 I could not believe that we as Seventh-day Adventists 00:18:49.55\00:18:51.23 have the truth, have all these 00:18:51.26\00:18:53.43 wonderful precious truths, 00:18:53.46\00:18:55.17 and I have never known about it. 00:18:55.20\00:18:56.52 So I had this burden, and so I felt 00:18:56.55\00:18:58.53 the calling from the Lord to go 00:18:58.56\00:19:00.08 and start a mission project in Honduras, 00:19:00.11\00:19:01.57 and so I went home and I told my parents 00:19:01.60\00:19:03.98 about everything that had happened 00:19:04.01\00:19:05.24 and I told them you know I am not interested 00:19:05.27\00:19:06.66 in anything else. What I want to do 00:19:06.69\00:19:08.01 is serve the Lord. And you know 00:19:08.04\00:19:09.83 what my father told me. He grabbed my by the shoulder 00:19:09.86\00:19:12.04 and he says Jose everything that I have I believe God 00:19:12.07\00:19:15.29 has given to me, so that you can start this project 00:19:15.32\00:19:17.77 and I believe the Holy Spirit has been guiding you 00:19:17.80\00:19:20.69 all this time and we support everything 00:19:20.72\00:19:23.08 that you do. And he was not an Adventist 00:19:23.11\00:19:24.75 at that point right. 00:19:24.78\00:19:25.75 And he was not an Adventist at that point. 00:19:25.76\00:19:26.83 So then I called Laurelbrook Academy 00:19:26.86\00:19:28.24 and I told them hey you guys got me into this mess. 00:19:28.27\00:19:30.02 So now you guys have to come and help me. 00:19:30.05\00:19:31.58 And so they came down, they did a mission trip, 00:19:31.61\00:19:33.83 they started building up a church 00:19:33.86\00:19:35.63 because we were working in a community 00:19:35.66\00:19:37.06 where there was no church, 00:19:37.09\00:19:38.07 and then I called European Bible school 00:19:38.10\00:19:40.05 and I told them hey you guys got me into this mess, 00:19:40.08\00:19:41.93 so now you guys have to come and help me, 00:19:41.96\00:19:43.27 and they send the mission trip, 00:19:43.30\00:19:44.52 they held the first evangelistic campaign 00:19:44.55\00:19:45.88 in this community. The first day the building 00:19:45.91\00:19:48.53 was packed full. There were people that 00:19:48.56\00:19:50.98 were waiting outside, waiting to listen 00:19:51.01\00:19:52.99 to the new truth of the Adventist message. 00:19:53.02\00:19:54.93 In the end of the evangelistic series 00:19:54.96\00:19:56.70 they made an altar call and a few people stood up 00:19:56.73\00:19:58.74 to accept the Adventist message, 00:19:58.77\00:20:00.15 and to be baptized and one of the people that stood up 00:20:00.18\00:20:02.87 was actually my father, and I praise the Lord 00:20:02.90\00:20:05.53 because God knows exactly. 00:20:05.56\00:20:07.27 You can never know where you're going 00:20:07.30\00:20:09.78 to be but wherever you are if you are witness 00:20:09.81\00:20:11.96 like these young people were in this camp 00:20:11.99\00:20:13.55 doing this mission work. God can use that 00:20:13.58\00:20:15.71 and the ways of that are so profound you will not 00:20:15.74\00:20:18.91 even know about it. I bet you that 00:20:18.94\00:20:20.45 all these young people that were there did not imagine 00:20:20.48\00:20:22.51 all the consequences of what they were going to do 00:20:22.54\00:20:25.04 there in this mission trip. 00:20:25.07\00:20:26.04 And I want to clarify when we talk about 00:20:26.06\00:20:27.88 the Adventist message. We are talking about whatever 00:20:27.91\00:20:29.93 this book says, right. We follow this book, 00:20:29.96\00:20:32.48 this is what we ready. We do what it says and that 00:20:32.51\00:20:34.58 is the Adventist message. Now tell me Jesse, how 00:20:34.61\00:20:37.31 did you join in and end up in Honduras from Norway. 00:20:37.34\00:20:40.74 Well you went back home to Switzerland, right. 00:20:40.77\00:20:42.40 Yeah I was in Norway, we would talk about there 00:20:42.43\00:20:45.45 but I was not involved in that 00:20:45.48\00:20:46.69 because I wanted to start my own project 00:20:46.72\00:20:47.87 in Switzerland, right, but then God you know 00:20:47.90\00:20:50.34 how he is you know, he leads you 00:20:50.37\00:20:52.03 and actually he led me to Bogenhofen to study 00:20:52.06\00:20:54.78 theology, to become a pastor. 00:20:54.81\00:20:57.21 So I was there studying theology 00:20:57.24\00:20:58.87 and he was this guy out in Honduras 00:20:58.90\00:21:01.86 you know his father has just donated the property, 00:21:01.89\00:21:04.73 and so he would call me actually through MSN 00:21:04.76\00:21:06.89 he would write to me. He's like Jesse you know 00:21:06.92\00:21:09.19 we just got this property donated, 00:21:09.22\00:21:11.27 I got this mission trip to come to it, 00:21:11.30\00:21:12.71 built the church you know, guy you need to come 00:21:12.74\00:21:15.18 and help me. I don't have, 00:21:15.21\00:21:16.28 I don't have anybody here helping me, 00:21:16.31\00:21:17.84 you know come on over. And I am like okay, 00:21:17.87\00:21:20.57 this is you know when God calls you 00:21:21.75\00:21:24.15 to do mission work, we don't have a lot of choice, 00:21:24.18\00:21:26.55 right. So I prayed just to be sure 00:21:26.58\00:21:29.40 and booked the ticket and we went over 00:21:29.43\00:21:32.09 and that's where we joined in all of these. 00:21:32.12\00:21:34.41 I started, you know I had no clue about Spanish 00:21:34.44\00:21:37.44 and I didn't know one single word, 00:21:37.47\00:21:40.05 actually I knew is and no right, that's about it. 00:21:40.08\00:21:42.95 But I went there and I came out, 00:21:42.98\00:21:45.19 I brought this Spanish Bible, 00:21:45.22\00:21:46.37 and I would go to this community right 00:21:46.40\00:21:48.04 we would do outreach and so forth 00:21:48.07\00:21:49.61 and I would go to them and just show them 00:21:49.64\00:21:51.26 the Bible verses and say read this you know, 00:21:51.29\00:21:54.03 and they would read it right and then they would tell me 00:21:54.06\00:21:57.11 stuff I am just like, sure you know, that's good, 00:21:57.14\00:22:00.84 but so I would go to the next text and so forth, 00:22:00.87\00:22:05.08 this is how the whole thing started, 00:22:05.11\00:22:07.62 so but the desire was there. 00:22:07.65\00:22:09.06 You were nineteen at that time, right, 00:22:09.09\00:22:10.06 you were nineteen when you started. Yes. 00:22:10.07\00:22:11.62 And you're both twenty four now. 00:22:11.65\00:22:12.64 So what is going on down there now. 00:22:12.67\00:22:14.78 You have a school going, 00:22:14.81\00:22:16.45 you're starting a lifestyle center, 00:22:16.48\00:22:18.06 and its all been started by the two of you 00:22:18.09\00:22:19.59 and a group of other people about your age, right. 00:22:19.62\00:22:22.40 Well, praise the Lord, you know we have 00:22:22.43\00:22:24.44 you know God is so merciful you know 00:22:24.47\00:22:25.98 he sends us so many young people, 00:22:26.01\00:22:28.40 other young people actually all of our, 00:22:28.43\00:22:30.65 we have about twenty young people all over from, 00:22:30.68\00:22:33.97 all over the world, from Poland, from Brazil, 00:22:34.00\00:22:36.80 from Switzerland, Germany, from Venezuela 00:22:36.83\00:22:41.05 and so forth, and all of them are just there, 00:22:41.08\00:22:43.64 they are all like below twenty eight years old. 00:22:43.67\00:22:45.92 But we all are working for the common goal, 00:22:45.95\00:22:49.49 and we have this mission school going on, 00:22:49.52\00:22:51.32 actually we have the privilege of training 00:22:51.35\00:22:53.86 young people to do mission work, 00:22:53.89\00:22:55.74 to do effective mission work in Bible evangelism, 00:22:55.77\00:22:57.87 medical missionary work and leadership to be able to 00:22:57.90\00:23:01.80 start new mission schools and new lifestyle centers 00:23:01.83\00:23:03.90 all over, all over Central America 00:23:03.93\00:23:05.93 and around the world, right. 00:23:05.96\00:23:07.63 So that's the goal of the mission schooling. 00:23:07.66\00:23:10.44 God has been good, he's been blessing, 00:23:10.47\00:23:12.43 and we have been able to I mean we've been blessed, 00:23:12.46\00:23:16.91 we've been able to start new projects, new programs, 00:23:16.94\00:23:20.08 English schools and so forth. 00:23:20.11\00:23:21.35 And the people don't only just learn English you know 00:23:21.38\00:23:23.43 they learn Bible English, right. 00:23:23.46\00:23:25.17 So they learn you know ten commandments by heart, 00:23:25.20\00:23:27.96 their final exam is the quote the Fourth Commandment, 00:23:27.99\00:23:31.26 so its, people come to church just through 00:23:31.29\00:23:35.65 English school and through the lifestyle center, 00:23:35.68\00:23:39.91 it's a blessing. And your vision for this is not just 00:23:39.94\00:23:42.81 to train people to be Bible workers or evangelists, 00:23:42.84\00:23:44.95 but you're trying to train them 00:23:44.98\00:23:46.39 in the business aspect, and prepare them to go out 00:23:46.42\00:23:48.42 and start similar schools just like you did, 00:23:48.45\00:23:50.89 is that right? Definitely, I believe that, 00:23:50.92\00:23:53.17 I believe the spirit of prophecy, 00:23:53.20\00:23:55.34 when the spirit of prophecy says 00:23:55.37\00:23:56.34 that we're such an army of young people rightly what? 00:23:56.35\00:23:59.62 Rightly trained, right. Then the end will come. 00:23:59.65\00:24:02.92 And so part of the aspect of our course is to 00:24:02.95\00:24:06.02 train young people in leadership. 00:24:06.05\00:24:07.35 So that they have all the tools that they can go back 00:24:07.38\00:24:09.58 and start their own project from scratch. 00:24:09.61\00:24:11.03 That they can feel the courage; 00:24:11.06\00:24:12.83 they can feel endowed with the tools because God 00:24:12.86\00:24:15.82 does not necessarily call the people 00:24:15.85\00:24:17.02 who have all the expertise but call when God calls you, 00:24:17.05\00:24:19.93 he endows you with the Holy Spirit, 00:24:19.96\00:24:22.58 so that you are able to do this work. 00:24:22.61\00:24:25.20 And so we train the young people 00:24:25.23\00:24:26.73 in this business aspect, business management, 00:24:26.76\00:24:28.90 project development, so that they are able 00:24:28.93\00:24:30.92 then to go and multiply the concept 00:24:30.95\00:24:33.16 or be part of another project that already exists 00:24:33.19\00:24:35.35 and be effective in doing mission work. 00:24:35.38\00:24:37.57 Actually this guy right here he couldn't speak 00:24:37.60\00:24:39.62 Spanish when he came there. Three months later 00:24:39.65\00:24:41.62 the Holy Spirit helped him, 00:24:41.65\00:24:43.06 he was able to speak Spanish. 00:24:43.09\00:24:44.16 I was translating for this guy, 00:24:44.19\00:24:45.37 you know and he comes up and he is like yeah 00:24:45.40\00:24:48.00 you just didn't translate correctly on this one. 00:24:48.03\00:24:49.75 You know I am like Jesse forget this, 00:24:49.78\00:24:52.42 why don't you just do it Spanish you know 00:24:52.45\00:24:54.39 and he did, and he teaches in Spanish, 00:24:54.42\00:24:56.24 he preaches in Spanish and the Holy Spirit 00:24:56.27\00:24:57.94 is ready to be out poured on these people 00:24:57.97\00:25:00.04 when we say what. When we say Lord here I am. 00:25:00.07\00:25:02.86 Here I am, and that is part of the creative process 00:25:02.89\00:25:06.00 isn't it, being willing to participate 00:25:06.03\00:25:08.28 and building up the kingdom of God, 00:25:08.31\00:25:10.05 and that is what they doing. 00:25:10.08\00:25:11.29 Thank you guys so much for being with us today. 00:25:11.32\00:25:13.22 Go visit their booth, it is Vita International, 00:25:13.25\00:25:17.13 and we, they have a booth here in the exhibit hall. 00:25:17.16\00:25:19.39 Next I would like to introduce you to 00:25:20.10\00:25:22.08 another person I met at the General Conference, 00:25:22.11\00:25:24.50 I also introduced him there, look right over here. 00:25:24.53\00:25:27.72 This is Dr. Viriato Ferreira, it is easier 00:25:27.75\00:25:30.41 for me to say Viriato Ferreira. 00:25:30.44\00:25:32.09 He is from Portugal and I met him just 00:25:33.13\00:25:36.88 a couple of weeks ago, and was so inspired 00:25:36.91\00:25:38.79 by the messages that he had to share, 00:25:38.82\00:25:40.51 that we even had him come and do a seminar here, 00:25:41.40\00:25:44.20 it was called Reaching Hearts in Secular Nations, 00:25:44.23\00:25:47.19 and that was, what really struck me is that 00:25:47.22\00:25:49.37 he had an idea of ministry and what it meant to be 00:25:49.40\00:25:52.61 in the mission field way back 00:25:52.64\00:25:54.15 when he went to medical school, 00:25:54.18\00:25:55.71 he wanted to be a missionary. 00:25:55.74\00:25:56.73 And his ideas have changed over the years, 00:25:56.76\00:25:59.87 what it means to go to the mission field 00:25:59.90\00:26:01.42 and how to reach out to people, 00:26:01.45\00:26:03.25 and I'd like him to share today some of those 00:26:03.28\00:26:05.90 concepts that you shared in a shorter version of what 00:26:05.93\00:26:08.56 you shared in the seminar this week. 00:26:08.59\00:26:10.58 Well, thank you Conna, it was inspiring to listen to 00:26:10.61\00:26:12.28 these two young men. Were you inspired? Amen. 00:26:12.31\00:26:14.83 I was. Now, I wanted to be missionary, 00:26:14.86\00:26:18.26 and my goal was to go to Africa or to Asia 00:26:18.29\00:26:22.67 or to South America, one of those places 00:26:22.70\00:26:24.83 where preferably there would be no Adventists 00:26:24.86\00:26:26.95 and where there would be no doctors. 00:26:26.98\00:26:29.82 Okay, my wife is a physician as well, 00:26:29.85\00:26:31.92 and that's why we wanted to work. 00:26:31.95\00:26:33.23 So we worked sometime in Africa, in Namibia, 00:26:33.26\00:26:36.80 and then the Lord helped us to change completely 00:26:36.83\00:26:41.59 our direction. It's not that we don't believe 00:26:41.62\00:26:43.95 that there's a mission field out there but 00:26:43.98\00:26:45.42 he's just enlarged our vision. 00:26:45.45\00:26:47.27 We ended up in Europe. We had an invitation to set up 00:26:47.99\00:26:50.56 a lifestyle center in the school of 00:26:50.59\00:26:52.19 health evangelism, hence in the beginning 00:26:52.22\00:26:55.80 we didn't want to go. 00:26:55.83\00:26:56.80 See, we wanted to go back to Africa you know 00:26:56.81\00:26:58.64 I was going to residence pediatrics, 00:26:58.67\00:27:00.59 I actually started that in the UK, 00:27:00.62\00:27:02.26 and then there was an invitation to go to Europe 00:27:02.29\00:27:05.80 and to do mission work. In fact the Union President 00:27:05.83\00:27:08.26 says you know you're missionaries 00:27:08.29\00:27:09.44 somewhere else, why don't you 00:27:09.47\00:27:10.66 become missionaries here. I didn't want to, 00:27:10.69\00:27:13.03 I really didn't want to. Now, why is it that, 00:27:13.06\00:27:14.90 explain to us why you didn't want to go, 00:27:14.93\00:27:16.39 you didn't see as a mission field 00:27:16.42\00:27:17.69 and the reason for that? 00:27:17.72\00:27:18.77 I didn't see as a mission field, because I thought 00:27:18.80\00:27:19.77 there were so many Adventist doctors 00:27:19.78\00:27:21.08 why two more. You know let them do the work 00:27:21.11\00:27:23.75 that needs to be done. And second, I thought you know 00:27:23.78\00:27:26.86 these are not real needs, you know the real needs 00:27:26.89\00:27:28.78 are in those poor places, that's what I thought, 00:27:28.81\00:27:34.05 but as we started getting ready to go to Europe. 00:27:34.08\00:27:37.45 We spend two and half years in the States at Wildwood, 00:27:37.48\00:27:41.42 and Conna, I couldn't believe what I was seeing. 00:27:41.45\00:27:46.22 You know people coming with huge lists 00:27:46.25\00:27:48.43 of medications, you know twelve, fourteen, fifteen, 00:27:48.46\00:27:51.37 most of them on antidepressants 00:27:51.40\00:27:53.38 and they started telling me about their stories, 00:27:53.41\00:27:55.85 and I tell you painful, painful stories. 00:27:55.88\00:28:00.05 Stories of being left by the spouse, 00:28:00.98\00:28:03.72 you know the children on drugs, loneliness, 00:28:03.75\00:28:06.14 you know stories that would keep them awake for nights 00:28:06.17\00:28:09.79 without end you know just painful relationship 00:28:09.82\00:28:14.12 in their marriage, and I started asking myself 00:28:14.15\00:28:18.35 you know, who is suffering more. 00:28:18.38\00:28:19.52 My friends back in Namibia, Northern Namibia 00:28:20.34\00:28:23.28 under a tree meeting on Sabbath, 00:28:23.31\00:28:25.55 just under a tree or the people 00:28:25.58\00:28:27.95 here with an affluence. A lot of suffering 00:28:27.98\00:28:31.30 and that just was so incredible, 00:28:31.33\00:28:36.05 just to realize that suffering is everywhere 00:28:36.08\00:28:39.01 and the ministry of Jesus is to everyone. 00:28:39.04\00:28:42.65 That's right, so that led you not only to shift 00:28:43.50\00:28:45.70 your ideas about what it meant to minister 00:28:45.73\00:28:47.66 but also to shift how you went about ministry. 00:28:47.69\00:28:51.91 That's right, yes. Tell us a little bit about that. 00:28:51.94\00:28:53.06 Well, we went over to Portugal and we set up 00:28:53.09\00:28:55.16 medium size help, a little clinic in Lisbon, 00:28:55.19\00:28:57.72 downtown Lisbon, and we started seeing patients. 00:28:57.75\00:29:00.09 As we were seeing them we just realized something. 00:29:00.12\00:29:03.95 You know Europe is known as a secular place. 00:29:03.98\00:29:06.46 Well, I found out that it may be secular, 00:29:06.49\00:29:09.79 it may be religious, but it's not on spiritual. 00:29:09.82\00:29:11.92 You know I am still to find the first true atheist. 00:29:11.95\00:29:16.95 When I asked him how do you cope with illness, 00:29:17.55\00:29:20.90 how do you, you know does faith play a role 00:29:20.93\00:29:23.49 in your illness and they usually tell me doctor 00:29:23.52\00:29:27.22 I don't go to church, I don't believe. I don't go. 00:29:27.25\00:29:31.23 And I asked him, I am not asking you to 00:29:31.26\00:29:33.65 which you church you go to. I am asking inside, 00:29:33.68\00:29:37.42 deep in your heart do you believe every single person 00:29:37.45\00:29:41.83 in these eight years, and I've seen many, many people 00:29:41.86\00:29:45.02 they've told me yes I believe, and I pray 00:29:45.05\00:29:48.02 and God hears me. Its amazing 00:29:48.05\00:29:50.68 and the young people, they are in the pubs, 00:29:50.71\00:29:54.02 in the bars and you know, ask them, do you believe, 00:29:54.05\00:29:56.15 yes I believe. So in a sense may be we're using 00:29:56.18\00:29:59.77 a wrong term when we call these nations 00:29:59.80\00:30:01.77 secular nations, is that right, but you see them 00:30:01.80\00:30:04.36 different than you used to. 00:30:04.39\00:30:05.36 They're rebelling against traditional forms of religion. 00:30:05.37\00:30:08.52 They are rebelling against the character 00:30:08.55\00:30:11.14 that is being portrait of God by many, 00:30:11.17\00:30:14.08 probably many of us, including myself. 00:30:14.11\00:30:17.78 And so people look at this and in their honesty 00:30:18.43\00:30:22.26 they say I don't want that. 00:30:22.29\00:30:23.62 You go and knock on their doors, and they don't open 00:30:23.65\00:30:26.51 if they know that you've come from a church. 00:30:26.54\00:30:28.23 They are protecting themselves, 00:30:28.26\00:30:29.92 are these bad people? No, 00:30:29.95\00:30:32.45 but you know what I found is that through friendship, 00:30:32.48\00:30:36.99 its not just friendliness, 00:30:37.02\00:30:39.27 one thing is to be friendly; the other is to be a friend. 00:30:39.30\00:30:43.10 I realize that I don't know or I didn't know 00:30:43.13\00:30:46.34 I am still learning how to be a friend. 00:30:46.37\00:30:49.85 You know, we live in a very closed group, 00:30:50.91\00:30:53.51 and we forget that out there, there are people 00:30:53.54\00:30:56.28 who are just as much as children of God as I am, 00:30:56.31\00:31:00.87 and as you are, and as you are. 00:31:00.90\00:31:02.75 And to be friends is to be there for their problems, 00:31:03.41\00:31:06.91 to be by their side and once they 00:31:06.94\00:31:09.70 trust you as a friend. Then they see integrity, 00:31:09.73\00:31:13.11 I am a sinful person, but God wants me to be to be, 00:31:13.14\00:31:18.57 to reflect him, and once they see that in you 00:31:20.10\00:31:23.18 then they hear what you have to say about God. 00:31:23.21\00:31:26.76 Now can you share really quickly, you shared about 00:31:26.79\00:31:28.82 a man whose life you saved recently, 00:31:28.85\00:31:31.34 and you were able to play out this whole scenario 00:31:31.37\00:31:34.42 in your interaction with him and his family. 00:31:34.45\00:31:36.87 Maybe you can share a little bit of that, 00:31:36.90\00:31:38.57 everyone needs to go and watch the seminar 00:31:38.60\00:31:41.45 on the website if you have a chance. 00:31:41.48\00:31:42.75 This is actually happening quite now, about right now 00:31:42.78\00:31:45.10 about a year ago I was traveling 00:31:45.13\00:31:46.51 and I saw an accident and I went to help, 00:31:46.54\00:31:48.83 and there was a person next to the man, 00:31:48.86\00:31:51.24 and it happened to be nurse, 00:31:51.27\00:31:53.28 and she says you know he's dead. Well if he's dead, 00:31:53.31\00:31:57.86 he's dead. If the nurse tells you that the man is dead, 00:31:57.89\00:31:59.87 he is dead. So then I felt for the pulse, 00:31:59.90\00:32:03.98 there was no pulse it's cold blue, 00:32:04.01\00:32:05.57 there was carotid pulse still twenty per minute. 00:32:05.60\00:32:08.71 Now doctors know what that means you know, 00:32:08.74\00:32:10.53 he's going to die in few seconds. 00:32:10.56\00:32:11.84 So I started the CPR and the man survived, 00:32:11.87\00:32:16.09 and he had fallen off a motorbike, 00:32:16.12\00:32:18.64 injured his neck, a long story short. 00:32:18.67\00:32:21.69 Well the man survived about a month 00:32:21.72\00:32:24.96 and a half, two months later I met the family. 00:32:24.99\00:32:26.86 They were very, very happy to meet me, and to thank 00:32:26.89\00:32:30.63 and a friendship started now. These people are 00:32:30.66\00:32:33.75 highly educated PhDs and we asked them about religion 00:32:33.78\00:32:38.06 and they say well you know, it's not for us. 00:32:38.09\00:32:41.56 But deep in their hearts they are searching 00:32:41.59\00:32:44.05 and the friendship is starting 00:32:44.08\00:32:45.92 that is so profound, so deep, 00:32:45.95\00:32:47.67 they invite us to their home, we invite them to our home, 00:32:47.70\00:32:50.43 and so on, and it's just opening wedge to something 00:32:50.46\00:32:56.03 deeper and these are special people. 00:32:56.06\00:32:57.57 Because everyone has questions. Oh yes everyone. 00:32:57.60\00:32:59.85 And they want to see how you are answering 00:32:59.88\00:33:01.50 those questions in your own life. 00:33:01.53\00:33:03.32 They wanted to know if you have integrity 00:33:03.35\00:33:04.76 in your religion, and if you have faith 00:33:04.79\00:33:06.61 and if you are a believer. That's right. 00:33:06.64\00:33:08.26 And that's what I really appreciate 00:33:08.29\00:33:09.42 about his seminar, what he shared, 00:33:09.45\00:33:11.12 what he is sharing in his ministry. 00:33:11.15\00:33:12.74 I really invite you to check out that seminar. 00:33:12.77\00:33:15.48 All of our seminars will be downloadable 00:33:15.51\00:33:17.54 from the website, it's at www.asiministries.org. 00:33:17.57\00:33:23.52 And I just want to encourage all of you 00:33:23.55\00:33:25.71 to recognize that you are part of the creative process 00:33:25.74\00:33:29.50 of building up the kingdom of God. 00:33:29.53\00:33:31.28 We have met people today who are participating 00:33:31.31\00:33:34.62 in that process in other parts of the world, 00:33:34.65\00:33:36.50 but I want everyone here to recognize 00:33:36.53\00:33:38.31 that each one of us is a creative person. Amen. 00:33:38.34\00:33:41.65 God bless you. God bless you. 00:33:41.68\00:33:42.78 We're looking forward to some great testimonies 00:33:43.39\00:33:46.60 this morning from some members in action. 00:33:46.63\00:33:48.81 Are you ready for that. Okay, my first guest 00:33:48.84\00:33:52.57 this morning step right over here Tim. 00:33:52.60\00:33:54.09 Tim Arakawa is with? AudioVerse. 00:33:54.12\00:33:58.56 And AudioVerse is what? So this AudioVerse is something 00:34:34.23\00:34:38.21 you do in both minutes of your spare time. 00:34:38.24\00:34:40.30 Now Alistair, how many visitors 00:34:40.33\00:34:46.08 do you get on this website, 00:34:46.11\00:34:48.64 or the AudioVerse per month. 00:34:48.67\00:34:51.63 Right now per month we're getting approximately 00:34:51.66\00:34:54.74 thirty thousand unique visitors every month. 00:34:54.77\00:34:56.91 Okay, that's fantastic, and how does this rate 00:34:56.94\00:35:00.48 compare to other websites out there. 00:35:00.51\00:35:03.28 Well according to alexa.com which is an independent 00:35:03.31\00:35:06.37 website we are currently ranked consistently 00:35:06.40\00:35:09.09 in the top five percent of all websites 00:35:09.12\00:35:11.52 on the Internet. That's amazing, 00:35:11.55\00:35:13.37 in terms of traffic, the top five percent 00:35:13.40\00:35:14.86 of our websites, can anybody say amen to that. 00:35:14.89\00:35:17.42 Amen. That's amazing, and this has been going for 00:35:17.45\00:35:20.40 how long, Tim? We started in 2005, 00:35:20.43\00:35:22.81 so this will be our fifth year. 00:35:22.84\00:35:24.22 We are going to get into a little bit 00:35:25.68\00:35:27.76 about what's happening with AudioVerse, 00:35:27.79\00:35:29.57 the impact it's having, and we have some, lets see, 00:35:29.60\00:35:36.16 we are going to go into some of the testimonies, 00:35:36.19\00:35:40.31 and some of the things that are happening, 00:35:40.34\00:35:42.73 it seems to me there is somebody who was reached 00:35:42.76\00:35:47.06 in at Loma Linda of another denomination. 00:35:47.09\00:35:49.58 That's right, recently I was meeting with a young man 00:35:49.61\00:35:53.36 who was a Catholic, and one of his friends 00:35:53.39\00:35:57.37 consistently gave him recordings, CDs 00:35:57.40\00:36:00.49 from sermons of AudioVerse that they downloaded 00:36:00.52\00:36:02.99 and burned. And he continued to resist 00:36:03.02\00:36:05.32 but he finally listened to one of them 00:36:05.35\00:36:06.82 of Randy Skeete, and this Catholic young man, 00:36:06.85\00:36:09.64 he decided I need to give my life to full time ministry. 00:36:09.67\00:36:13.16 Amen. And after listening to the message 00:36:13.19\00:36:15.21 by Randy Skeete, he decided to become a Catholic priest, 00:36:15.24\00:36:18.55 and so he went and enrolled in the seminary 00:36:18.58\00:36:20.85 and in the interview the priest told him 00:36:20.88\00:36:23.32 you do now that tradition takes precedent over 00:36:23.35\00:36:27.24 the Bible don't you, and because of the truth 00:36:27.27\00:36:29.81 that he's been hearing from these recordings 00:36:29.84\00:36:31.62 he could not accept that, and he decided to leave. 00:36:31.65\00:36:34.54 But shortly after he got very, very sick, 00:36:34.57\00:36:37.01 so that he couldn't continue school, 00:36:37.04\00:36:38.66 and as he was laying in bed all he did was listen 00:36:38.69\00:36:41.72 to AudioVerse, and he heard a message by Dr. Neil Medley 00:36:41.75\00:36:44.95 which connected the physical health 00:36:44.98\00:36:46.90 of an individual with the spiritual powers 00:36:46.93\00:36:49.50 and immediately he knew that the Adventist 00:36:49.53\00:36:52.42 had the right message for this hour. 00:36:52.45\00:36:54.68 In the very next Sabbath he kept the very first Sabbath 00:36:54.71\00:36:58.46 in his life, and that was when he shared with me 00:36:58.49\00:37:00.96 personally this testimony with AudioVerse. 00:37:00.99\00:37:02.83 That's amazing, and Tim, there was somebody else 00:37:02.86\00:37:05.26 who had a challenge with drugs prior to listening 00:37:05.29\00:37:09.31 to AudioVerse. Well, I'll let Alistair tell that story. 00:37:09.34\00:37:12.79 Okay. Because he is our story. Okay. 00:37:12.82\00:37:14.29 This young man he was dealing with drugs, 00:37:14.32\00:37:17.34 and he was running from God and he came back and back 00:37:17.37\00:37:20.63 to God, fell away, back to God, fell away, 00:37:20.66\00:37:22.91 until he was the near the point of the limit 00:37:22.94\00:37:25.39 of his endurance. When prudentially 00:37:25.42\00:37:27.96 he came to AudioVerse, he listen to the sermons 00:37:27.99\00:37:30.36 by the people he has never heard of before. 00:37:30.39\00:37:32.16 He learned about the grace of Jesus, the righteousness 00:37:32.19\00:37:34.83 by faith, message, and he was transformed. 00:37:34.86\00:37:37.69 His marriage was on the rocks, it was restored, 00:37:37.72\00:37:40.96 and he decided to go to APCO and now he is a 00:37:40.99\00:37:43.59 full time Bible worker. Amen, and anybody 00:37:43.62\00:37:47.19 who goes on AudioVerse to catch some of these 00:37:47.22\00:37:51.01 twenty two hundred sermons, how much do they pay. 00:37:51.04\00:37:53.94 Everything is free of charge, and that's one 00:37:54.60\00:37:57.52 of the beauties of this. It's something that can benefit 00:37:57.55\00:38:00.05 each one of us in our spiritual life 00:38:00.08\00:38:01.99 and it's also something that we can share with others. 00:38:02.02\00:38:03.93 Very good and so if it's free to the people who go 00:38:03.96\00:38:07.96 on the Internet and listen to AudioVerse 00:38:07.99\00:38:09.89 they must cost anything to put to do this. 00:38:09.92\00:38:13.40 Well we are blessed that God is providing 00:38:13.43\00:38:15.57 in different ways, and we do primary distribute 00:38:15.60\00:38:19.66 these things over the Internet 00:38:19.69\00:38:20.66 which is a little bit less expensive 00:38:20.67\00:38:22.58 than other mediums, but at the same time we do have 00:38:22.61\00:38:25.48 a lot of exciting projects that we're working on 00:38:25.51\00:38:28.05 and there are a lot of bandwidth cost, 00:38:28.08\00:38:29.65 and so there are expenses as well. 00:38:29.68\00:38:32.30 So how can somebody get involved to be involved 00:38:32.33\00:38:35.74 with AudioVerse. Well, we do have some exciting projects 00:38:35.77\00:38:39.81 that if anyone is interested in helping to support 00:38:39.84\00:38:42.22 we would be glad to talk with you later. 00:38:42.25\00:38:44.53 We are actually expanding to different languages, 00:38:44.56\00:38:47.34 we now have five languages and we're expecting 00:38:47.37\00:38:50.46 more in the future. We also have a big push to put spirit 00:38:50.49\00:38:53.91 of prophecy into audio. And so we have 00:38:53.94\00:38:56.78 several languages, and several books 00:38:56.81\00:38:59.08 that we've done, we're wanting to expand that, 00:38:59.11\00:39:01.28 and we are also working on applications that can run 00:39:01.31\00:39:04.13 on smart phones, so people can listen 00:39:04.16\00:39:05.72 while they're on the move. And who listens to things 00:39:05.75\00:39:10.69 on these smart phones but our young people, amen. 00:39:10.72\00:39:14.10 And this is how we need to reach people 00:39:14.13\00:39:15.81 but you're also reaching into foreign lands. 00:39:15.84\00:39:17.91 How many foreign countries and the most recent 00:39:17.94\00:39:20.18 one that's number two. Well we've been reaching 00:39:20.21\00:39:22.20 into hundreds of countries in the world. 00:39:22.23\00:39:23.87 I don't even know the count, but most recently 00:39:23.90\00:39:27.18 we have noticed that in history, 00:39:27.21\00:39:31.03 China has consistently be in the top five countries, 00:39:31.06\00:39:34.03 but in the past two months China has been the 00:39:34.06\00:39:37.45 number two country that's been downloading sermons 00:39:37.48\00:39:40.32 from our website, and we praise the Lord for that. 00:39:40.35\00:39:42.32 Amen, and I have to just testify to you know when I 00:39:42.35\00:39:45.30 go into pass by our daughter's room 00:39:45.33\00:39:48.96 and she has the ear buds in and listening to someone, 00:39:48.99\00:39:52.81 I said what are you listening to, 00:39:52.84\00:39:53.81 because parents have to be careful 00:39:53.82\00:39:55.04 about what's on the Internet 00:39:55.07\00:39:56.65 and it's AudioVerse and we say lights out, 00:39:56.68\00:39:58.78 its ten thirty, pass by a room 00:39:58.81\00:40:01.07 and there's this little glow in the room, 00:40:01.10\00:40:03.68 I say what you are listening to? AudioVerse, 00:40:03.71\00:40:06.30 so she is one of those thirty thousand people, 00:40:06.33\00:40:08.55 unique visitors per month. Thank you so much for your 00:40:08.58\00:40:12.02 inspiration to us, and we pray 00:40:12.05\00:40:14.29 that your ministry continues and flourishes 00:40:14.32\00:40:16.44 and we look forward to more testimonies. Thank you. 00:40:16.47\00:40:19.07 My next guest is Rico Hill and Jared Thurmon. 00:40:19.31\00:40:24.81 Rico is currently from Scottsdale, Arizona, 00:40:24.84\00:40:28.41 and Jared is from Atlanta, Georgia. 00:40:28.44\00:40:32.18 And welcome gentlemen, and your ministry 00:40:32.21\00:40:34.60 is called Beehives and I'm eager to hear 00:40:34.63\00:40:37.19 how you came up with this name. 00:40:37.22\00:40:38.91 We're going to tell you, the Beehive well basically 00:40:38.94\00:40:42.89 we found this in Welfare ministry page 112, 00:40:42.92\00:40:45.66 and in there Ellen White had seen in a dream. 00:40:45.69\00:40:49.41 In 1876 she has seen these two beehives, 00:40:49.44\00:40:52.64 and she didn't know what it meant, so basically she got 00:40:52.67\00:40:55.62 no further subsequent type of dream or vision 00:40:55.65\00:40:59.72 to explain it, and before she knew it 00:40:59.75\00:41:02.09 she was in the bay area and she saw two churches, 00:41:02.12\00:41:05.04 and she said truly the Lord's word 00:41:05.07\00:41:08.41 has been fulfilled. And basically 00:41:08.44\00:41:10.90 what had happened was these churches 00:41:10.93\00:41:12.67 has spilled beyond the church walls 00:41:12.70\00:41:15.26 and they were doing integrated evangelism. 00:41:15.29\00:41:18.21 And integrated evangelism is basically taking the word 00:41:18.24\00:41:21.79 of God and the Gospel into the marketplace 00:41:21.82\00:41:24.08 like ASI. Amen. And demonstrated 00:41:24.11\00:41:27.12 the love of Jesus Christ through 00:41:27.15\00:41:28.57 the restaurant work, through health work, 00:41:28.60\00:41:30.39 through the lifestyle center work, and so forth, 00:41:30.42\00:41:33.38 so that's basically where we got the name 00:41:33.41\00:41:34.99 and we wanted to resurrect and note idea 00:41:35.02\00:41:37.79 and put a new pen on it. Amen, and Jared, 00:41:37.82\00:41:40.76 you're from Atlanta, what is your background, 00:41:40.79\00:41:43.82 how did you get involved. Okay, 00:41:43.85\00:41:45.33 my background is business, I was educated at 00:41:45.36\00:41:47.97 Southern Adventist University and I had the 00:41:48.00\00:41:50.74 opportunity when I got out of school to help start 00:41:50.77\00:41:52.84 a couple of assisted living facilities, 00:41:52.87\00:41:54.55 and manage those and sell those, 00:41:54.58\00:41:57.83 and started a business consulting company 00:41:57.86\00:42:00.68 and the Lord has been blessing me 00:42:00.71\00:42:03.63 with the ability to not only do that 00:42:03.66\00:42:05.37 but now to jump full time into this work. 00:42:05.40\00:42:07.73 Fantastic, and Rico I want to hear 00:42:07.76\00:42:09.89 what your background is, but we have a few photos 00:42:09.92\00:42:13.12 that we are going to show while we talk, 00:42:13.15\00:42:15.46 and so we can get started on those 00:42:15.49\00:42:17.51 and our viewers can enjoy those as we begin to tell 00:42:17.54\00:42:21.82 some of the blessings but your background, 00:42:21.85\00:42:24.16 you haven't done this all the time, you come from where? 00:42:24.19\00:42:26.80 Well, I was blessed to come into this wonderful 00:42:26.83\00:42:29.38 church in 1996, and through the net series 00:42:29.41\00:42:33.91 of Mark Finley, became Adventist 00:42:33.94\00:42:36.17 and just loved the message and wanted to do all 00:42:36.20\00:42:38.94 I could for the Lord. At the time I was working 00:42:38.97\00:42:41.61 for MTV Nickelodeon as a television executive, 00:42:41.64\00:42:44.12 and my most recent job was at Turner Broadcasting, 00:42:44.15\00:42:48.75 where I was the Vice President of programming 00:42:48.78\00:42:52.81 and acquisitions, and the Lord called me out 00:42:52.84\00:42:56.26 of that into full time ministry. Amen. 00:42:56.29\00:42:58.12 To do the Beehive, and I am so thankful for that. 00:42:58.15\00:42:59.85 And you are working currently in Arizona 00:42:59.88\00:43:02.12 at the university there, and what are some 00:43:02.15\00:43:04.72 of the projects that are going on with Beehive? 00:43:04.75\00:43:07.16 Well, Jared, I'll let you tell him about that. 00:43:07.19\00:43:09.16 Okay, as you're seeing some of these pictures, 00:43:09.19\00:43:10.73 you can see a thrift store, that's the way 00:43:10.76\00:43:12.73 we felt was something we needed to get an enterprise 00:43:12.76\00:43:14.80 going to sustain the work. I think we got a picture 00:43:14.83\00:43:17.28 of some of the projects, we're building 00:43:17.31\00:43:18.64 an agricultural school in India, 00:43:18.67\00:43:20.60 as well as soon to launch one at Haiti. 00:43:20.63\00:43:23.25 We believe in empowering people, educating people 00:43:23.28\00:43:26.60 and equipping them to sustain themselves 00:43:26.63\00:43:28.95 and then to spread the ever lasting Gospel. 00:43:28.98\00:43:31.54 So you're seeing some of these things are working. 00:43:31.57\00:43:33.11 The most exciting is the Daniel challenge. 00:43:33.14\00:43:35.20 What is the Daniel challenge? 00:43:35.23\00:43:36.60 The Daniel challenge is an effort we set, 00:43:36.63\00:43:38.34 how do you reach a college student, 00:43:38.37\00:43:39.65 the thought leaders. As you look back in history 00:43:39.68\00:43:42.06 that while Denizens went to secular college campuses, 00:43:42.09\00:43:45.53 and the fathers of the reformation 00:43:45.56\00:43:47.71 were born through that. Did you hear what he said. 00:43:47.74\00:43:49.51 They're going to university, 00:43:49.54\00:43:52.06 secular universities and reaching who, 00:43:52.09\00:43:54.35 the young people. So continue with your story. 00:43:54.38\00:43:57.07 We believe the thought leaders are the eighteen 00:43:57.10\00:43:59.41 to thirty four demographic, and if we can reach them 00:43:59.44\00:44:01.94 with this Daniel challenge which is an essence 00:44:01.97\00:44:03.93 and interrupting whenever you want. Okay. 00:44:03.96\00:44:05.72 In essence it is the story of Daniel, walk them 00:44:05.75\00:44:09.00 through this character Daniel, 00:44:09.03\00:44:10.22 who like them was about seventeen or eighteen 00:44:10.25\00:44:12.64 when he began this higher education experience. 00:44:12.67\00:44:14.94 Walk them though his life and at the same time 00:44:14.97\00:44:17.02 bring in the eight laws of health that we all know 00:44:17.05\00:44:19.17 plus two that we added to it, 00:44:19.20\00:44:21.25 that we felt were important and Rico, 00:44:21.28\00:44:22.25 I'll let you jump in. So we felt like the 00:44:22.26\00:44:24.58 Daniel challenge, we wanted to make 00:44:24.61\00:44:25.90 it a challenge. Exactly. 00:44:25.93\00:44:27.18 Because you know we didn't think 00:44:27.21\00:44:28.18 that they would response so much to, hey come here 00:44:28.19\00:44:30.43 I'll lecture about Daniel. 00:44:30.46\00:44:31.48 But if we said you know what, 00:44:31.51\00:44:32.96 why don't you take a challenge, 00:44:32.99\00:44:34.07 and you know it has pop culture residence in terms 00:44:34.10\00:44:38.52 of the whole idea of the biggest loser and so forth. 00:44:38.55\00:44:42.12 So we said lets give them a challenge, 00:44:42.15\00:44:44.09 so instead of ten days we give them ten weeks. Amen. 00:44:44.12\00:44:47.17 And through that they basically 00:44:47.20\00:44:49.31 come to our website, and they sign up, 00:44:49.34\00:44:51.60 they come to our website and they'll see 00:44:51.63\00:44:53.49 there is a challenge for them every week, 00:44:53.52\00:44:55.20 and if they do the challenge they collect 00:44:55.23\00:44:57.43 points basically. And before they know it 00:44:57.46\00:45:00.95 they're going to Daniel chapter one and they see 00:45:00.98\00:45:03.37 in Daniel chapter one that basically there was a dream 00:45:03.40\00:45:05.92 and that, that because of a diet someone was able 00:45:05.95\00:45:10.83 to interpret that dream and have understanding 00:45:10.86\00:45:12.93 and they were wiser, so we sort of guaranteed them 00:45:12.96\00:45:15.49 that if they do this challenge they'll be wiser, 00:45:15.52\00:45:17.64 they'll be smarter, they'll be able to really be able 00:45:17.67\00:45:19.67 to compete on campus in terms of their grades 00:45:19.70\00:45:22.62 and so forth. Top of the class the university, 00:45:22.65\00:45:24.73 so give us some examples of some of the victories. 00:45:24.76\00:45:26.77 Okay, I can tell you one, a gentleman who was in 00:45:26.80\00:45:30.62 and out of the church his whole life 00:45:30.65\00:45:32.03 and this was actually an Adventist student 00:45:32.06\00:45:34.26 in and out of the church and I'm sure many of us 00:45:34.29\00:45:35.61 can relate with that, even some parents. 00:45:35.64\00:45:37.28 He said I've never seen the health message make sense. 00:45:37.31\00:45:40.82 You made it make sense with the life of Daniel, 00:45:40.85\00:45:43.68 and I want to apply these principles in my life 00:45:43.71\00:45:46.86 and already seeing health benefits, so exciting, 00:45:46.89\00:45:49.80 it's exciting to see that, and it's exciting to see 00:45:49.83\00:45:52.18 you know students who are incentivised, 00:45:52.21\00:45:53.72 we're want to give away some iPods 00:45:53.75\00:45:54.90 and things to this point system, and what happened 00:45:54.93\00:45:57.74 was as we developed the Daniel challenge 00:45:57.77\00:45:59.47 it expanded into beyond. So we've actually prepared kits 00:45:59.50\00:46:03.44 where churches now can operate the Daniel 00:46:03.47\00:46:05.79 challenge in their community, 00:46:05.82\00:46:07.02 and the reason we got that idea was basically seeing 00:46:07.05\00:46:10.13 that beyond college students this country 00:46:10.16\00:46:12.27 and this world needs health and Rico tell him 00:46:12.30\00:46:13.97 about Tasha. Oh well, I met one by the name 00:46:14.00\00:46:16.01 of Tasha Grimes. She's not a member of our faith, 00:46:16.04\00:46:18.73 and she nearly died. You may have seen a picture 00:46:18.76\00:46:21.23 of her that was just rolling, 00:46:21.26\00:46:22.73 and she had nearly died and we put her 00:46:22.76\00:46:25.64 on the Daniel diet and challenged her, 00:46:25.67\00:46:28.59 and before we knew it she became this vibrant person 00:46:28.62\00:46:32.96 who now comes to our meeting. We meet every week 00:46:32.99\00:46:35.61 on the campus of Thunderbird Academy in Arizona. 00:46:35.64\00:46:39.18 She comes to our meetings, and here's the thing. 00:46:39.21\00:46:41.42 She comes from Dallas, Texas. Wow! 00:46:41.45\00:46:43.72 She comes at a mayo clinic for her check up, 00:46:43.75\00:46:46.96 but now she has found an excuse every single week 00:46:46.99\00:46:49.87 to come to our meetings, and she is well on her way 00:46:49.90\00:46:53.09 to become a member of this faith. 00:46:53.12\00:46:55.67 That's a victory for the Daniel challenge, 00:46:55.70\00:46:56.67 can you say amen to that. And how can these people 00:46:56.68\00:46:59.11 become involved in Beehive. Well, you know, what we say 00:46:59.14\00:47:03.92 to people is that we want to empower people, 00:47:03.95\00:47:05.45 people who are ministry minded, 00:47:05.48\00:47:08.11 who are business savvy, who want to combine the two, 00:47:08.14\00:47:10.57 we want to be that hub, because of our network 00:47:10.60\00:47:13.45 we are going to build a bigger and larger network 00:47:13.48\00:47:16.34 of Adventists who can really reach the people 00:47:16.37\00:47:18.51 with the Gospel in so many different ways. 00:47:18.54\00:47:19.91 A lot of people don't know how to get started 00:47:19.94\00:47:21.57 with the ministry. A lot of people don't know 00:47:21.60\00:47:23.19 how to take their business and be more mission 00:47:23.22\00:47:25.04 minded with it. We want to be sort of a hub 00:47:25.07\00:47:27.86 for those people. And you can find out 00:47:27.89\00:47:30.17 about this by going on the website the beehives.org. 00:47:30.20\00:47:33.77 Gentlemen, you're an inspiration to us, 00:47:33.80\00:47:35.83 and so if you want to help see a vision of Ellen White, 00:47:35.86\00:47:40.66 come to reality in this end times, 00:47:40.69\00:47:44.88 talk to these gentlemen. Thank you so much. 00:47:44.91\00:47:47.54 Okay, my next guest is a couple Lemuel 00:47:48.73\00:47:52.96 and Donna Vega. And Lemuel and Donna actually come 00:47:52.99\00:47:58.06 from Fort Wayne, Indiana, and you've got a 00:47:58.09\00:48:00.87 special ministry and it's called Christmas 00:48:00.90\00:48:04.92 Behind Bars, Christmas Behind Bars, 00:48:04.95\00:48:08.83 so what is the ministry? Well Christmas Behind Bars 00:48:08.86\00:48:12.50 is definitely not secular December 25th. 00:48:12.53\00:48:15.80 Christmas Behind Bars is an opportunity to go 00:48:15.83\00:48:18.20 into jails, and prisons and all of our lay people here 00:48:18.23\00:48:20.95 today have an opportunity to visit a 00:48:20.98\00:48:22.49 county jail in their area. Very good and how long 00:48:22.52\00:48:26.73 has this been going. Thirteen years. 00:48:26.76\00:48:28.49 Thirteen years, and you're background 00:48:28.52\00:48:31.36 and you haven't been in prison 00:48:31.39\00:48:32.36 and ministry the whole time, 00:48:32.37\00:48:33.34 what is your background? I was in prison, 00:48:33.35\00:48:35.27 I was in prison, and I understand 00:48:35.30\00:48:36.83 the value of what it means when someone comes to you 00:48:36.86\00:48:39.60 and shares with you and identifies 00:48:39.63\00:48:42.39 with the brokenness of your life. So you had experience 00:48:42.42\00:48:45.49 and started to try and get rid of temptations. 00:48:45.52\00:48:48.99 That's correct, I was in prison, 00:48:49.02\00:48:51.02 I got out of prison, prison did not change my life, 00:48:51.05\00:48:53.65 and thirteen years sick and ready to die 00:48:53.68\00:48:55.86 in a hospital room from drug addiction, 00:48:55.89\00:48:57.61 from heroin, from cocaine, I went for medical treatment, 00:48:57.64\00:49:00.69 the medical doctors couldn't help me 00:49:00.72\00:49:02.10 with methadone or Antabuse or Valium. 00:49:02.13\00:49:04.29 So I didn't get help, but I prayed and I ask Jesus 00:49:04.32\00:49:06.94 for help in my life and that started 00:49:06.97\00:49:08.41 my relationship with Jesus and then a year later 00:49:08.44\00:49:12.35 we had the opportunity to do the first county jail. 00:49:12.38\00:49:14.23 So we have a brief video that we are going to roll 00:49:14.26\00:49:17.73 while we answer questions here and tell about 00:49:17.76\00:49:21.21 some of the victories and testimonies through 00:49:21.24\00:49:23.47 Christmas Behind Bars and can you tell us Donna 00:49:23.50\00:49:27.34 of any examples of how people have been touched 00:49:27.37\00:49:33.35 and what is it you do to make contact 00:49:33.38\00:49:36.52 with these people. Well I have a letter I can read. 00:49:36.55\00:49:39.36 Okay, go ahead. This is from Preston, 00:49:39.39\00:49:41.43 it brings me joy, it brings joy to a lonely heart 00:49:41.46\00:49:45.32 to talk to others who are not in prison about Jesus. 00:49:45.35\00:49:49.34 Knowing others care brings a smile. 00:49:49.37\00:49:52.33 I've only have been in this prison. 00:49:52.36\00:49:54.30 He had only been at this prison two years 00:49:54.33\00:49:56.74 and Christmas Behind Bars came. 00:49:56.77\00:49:59.47 He lived the horrible life, so I was still new in Jesus 00:50:00.22\00:50:03.74 when we came. God had been leading me 00:50:03.77\00:50:06.59 to interesting studies about his Commandments. 00:50:06.62\00:50:09.49 So I was already following him but what I believed 00:50:09.52\00:50:14.00 was way different than mainstream Christians. 00:50:14.03\00:50:16.99 I was beginning to doubt some things, 00:50:17.02\00:50:19.32 I found study material in the gift bag 00:50:19.35\00:50:22.57 that Christmas Behind Bars brought, 00:50:22.60\00:50:24.24 I began reading books and realized I wasn't alone 00:50:24.27\00:50:27.79 in my thinking. The Holy Spirit was truly leading me 00:50:27.82\00:50:31.36 and showing me I must obey all Ten Commandments. 00:50:31.39\00:50:35.03 So Lemuel, this is amazing to think that you can 00:50:35.06\00:50:39.31 get into these institutions, 00:50:39.34\00:50:42.00 how do you that? God opens the doors, 00:50:42.03\00:50:43.87 he is going before us in the end of time. 00:50:43.90\00:50:45.81 I want to share with you about a lady 00:50:45.84\00:50:47.75 in the Lafayette jail. Someone had shared with her 00:50:47.78\00:50:50.56 about the Sabbath. She got put in segregation, 00:50:50.59\00:50:52.89 there was something written on the wall 00:50:52.92\00:50:53.99 about the Sabbath, and in her bag 00:50:54.02\00:50:55.99 was the Ten Commandments twice removed. 00:50:56.02\00:50:57.49 She said I now know that the Sabbath 00:50:57.52\00:50:59.25 is really Saturday, so that is absolutely amazing. 00:50:59.28\00:51:02.00 A man doing life in prison at a maximum security prison, 00:51:02.03\00:51:05.51 he received one of the packages 00:51:05.54\00:51:07.96 and now he's giving Bible studies in the prison, 00:51:07.99\00:51:10.71 and his mom is doing two county jails in her area, 00:51:10.74\00:51:14.64 just north of Louisville, Kentucky. 00:51:14.67\00:51:16.28 So people are getting involved 00:51:16.31\00:51:18.09 in sharing the Gospel. So if you, if I were to go up 00:51:18.12\00:51:20.81 to a jail and say I have got some stuff for the inmates, 00:51:20.84\00:51:25.20 what do I do, is there a proper procedure 00:51:25.23\00:51:27.86 to get it in there. Yes, a proper procedure is to pray 00:51:27.89\00:51:31.19 first and ask God for help. Second is to see 00:51:31.22\00:51:33.93 what your network of volunteers is 00:51:33.96\00:51:35.58 and then we can make small gift packages 00:51:35.61\00:51:37.67 and we will help whoever wants to get involved 00:51:37.70\00:51:39.91 with that, we'll give them some pointers. 00:51:39.94\00:51:41.25 So you actually put together a care package 00:51:41.28\00:51:44.25 and for some reason that gets through the doors. 00:51:44.28\00:51:46.95 Correct. Because not everything can get 00:51:46.98\00:51:49.18 into prisons as you well know and so how can 00:51:49.21\00:51:53.46 some of our friends here can become involved 00:51:53.49\00:51:55.34 in this type of ministry. If they like to contact us 00:51:55.37\00:51:58.33 at christmasbehindbars.com. or e-mail us or contact 00:51:58.36\00:52:01.95 at christmasbehindbars.com. We will send you 00:52:01.98\00:52:04.97 an information packet and then we can tell them 00:52:05.00\00:52:07.45 how to start and start getting product. 00:52:07.48\00:52:09.43 And so this is local evangelism, 00:52:09.46\00:52:11.88 so could I go to my local county jail and do this. 00:52:11.91\00:52:16.25 Yes, everybody has a local county jail probably 00:52:16.28\00:52:18.47 within twenty miles of your home, 00:52:18.50\00:52:20.17 and you just contact them, see how many inmates 00:52:20.20\00:52:22.52 they have and then we'll let you know what kind of stuff 00:52:22.55\00:52:25.25 to put in the bags and go forward with that. 00:52:25.28\00:52:26.98 Fantastic and Donna, you're in charge of correspondence, 00:52:27.01\00:52:29.86 so you get to see a lot of the letters and things 00:52:29.89\00:52:32.85 that come in, are there any others that either of 00:52:32.88\00:52:35.62 you might have to share that would 00:52:35.65\00:52:37.58 help inspire our friends. Yeah, 00:52:37.61\00:52:40.46 Lanny was in prison for thirty seven years. 00:52:40.49\00:52:42.35 He killed two state troopers 00:52:42.38\00:52:43.88 and he said this is, that this program when it 00:52:43.91\00:52:47.53 came in, he said he's never seen anything like it. 00:52:47.56\00:52:49.52 So he had been going to church services 00:52:49.55\00:52:51.83 in the prison but I say it's the Holy Spirit 00:52:51.86\00:52:54.12 that's going before and touching 00:52:54.15\00:52:55.28 and blessing the hearts of these people, 00:52:55.31\00:52:56.66 there was a man that was doing 00:52:56.69\00:52:58.41 four hundred years in prison. 00:52:58.44\00:52:59.74 Actually he was facing four hundred years 00:52:59.77\00:53:01.52 in the county jail in solitary confinement 00:53:01.55\00:53:03.76 and he told me about a year ago 00:53:03.79\00:53:06.97 that this program was the first thing that gave him 00:53:07.00\00:53:09.14 hope on his journey.
