Or does it? 00:02:08.79\00:02:12.41 How would you feel? 00:02:12.42\00:02:13.64 There's an old saying that goes, 00:02:13.65\00:02:17.24 your actions are speaking so loudly 00:02:17.25\00:02:20.06 that I can't hear a word that you're saying. 00:02:20.07\00:02:22.87 Have you ever heard that one? 00:02:22.88\00:02:24.48 Very, very popular saying. 00:02:24.49\00:02:25.94 So we're gonna find out today 00:02:25.95\00:02:27.81 if our actions are in line with our words, 00:02:27.82\00:02:30.49 and they should be, amen. They should be. 00:02:30.50\00:02:33.07 So, your health matters or does it. 00:02:33.08\00:02:36.05 Now when we go through this 00:02:36.06\00:02:39.26 we're going to see that the brain is an organ too. 00:02:39.27\00:02:45.21 When we talk about the brain being an organ, 00:02:45.22\00:02:47.74 we don't often think about it 00:02:47.75\00:02:49.94 like we do the rest of the body. 00:02:49.95\00:02:51.30 We have a tendency to separate it. 00:02:51.31\00:02:53.13 We think about things like heart disease 00:02:53.14\00:02:55.19 and cancer and diabetes 00:02:55.20\00:02:57.38 and stroke and all those things, 00:02:57.39\00:02:59.38 but it's somehow separated from the brain. 00:02:59.39\00:03:02.45 Now do you believe that can really be so. 00:03:02.46\00:03:05.24 Do you believe that can really be so? 00:03:05.25\00:03:07.20 The brain is an organ too. 00:03:07.21\00:03:09.31 Next slide please, if you look at this picture of the brain 00:03:09.32\00:03:13.88 you will see that it is a very complex structure. 00:03:13.89\00:03:17.82 Now don't worry, I don't expect you 00:03:17.83\00:03:19.24 to memorize every word on here 00:03:19.25\00:03:21.17 and know what it means, 00:03:21.18\00:03:22.26 but there are certain areas of the brain 00:03:22.27\00:03:23.79 that we're going to talk about. 00:03:23.80\00:03:24.82 Because where do we communicate with God, 00:03:24.83\00:03:27.68 through our what? 00:03:27.69\00:03:29.43 Through our mind, through our brain. 00:03:29.44\00:03:30.93 So if the brain isn't what it should be, 00:03:30.94\00:03:33.06 will not the enemy of our souls 00:03:33.07\00:03:34.94 use that against us 00:03:34.95\00:03:37.15 in communication with our Creator. 00:03:37.16\00:03:39.49 And if we cannot have 00:03:39.50\00:03:40.81 communication with our Creator, 00:03:40.82\00:03:42.34 how can we keep the first four commandments, 00:03:42.35\00:03:44.27 and if we can't keep the first four commandments, 00:03:44.28\00:03:46.28 how can we keep the last six. 00:03:46.29\00:03:48.09 So he interrupts our relationship with God 00:03:48.10\00:03:50.54 and with our fellow man, amen. 00:03:50.55\00:03:53.00 Next slide please. 00:03:53.01\00:03:54.25 So, a question I have for you today. 00:03:54.26\00:03:56.74 What's on your mind? 00:03:56.75\00:03:58.91 What's on your mind? 00:03:58.92\00:04:01.49 Now God is a discerner of the thoughts 00:04:01.50\00:04:04.32 so He knows what's on our minds, amen. 00:04:04.33\00:04:07.06 Satan cannot read our minds, did you know that. 00:04:07.07\00:04:09.91 He cannot read our minds 00:04:09.92\00:04:11.48 all he can go by is our past actions. 00:04:11.49\00:04:15.78 So, he will tempt us according to 00:04:15.79\00:04:18.07 what our behaviors had been in the past. 00:04:18.08\00:04:19.78 He knows your pattern, he's known me for 50 years, 00:04:19.79\00:04:23.08 50 years so he can kind of predict, 00:04:23.09\00:04:25.02 well if I put this in Bobby's pat 00:04:25.03\00:04:27.20 the likelihood and the chance of this happening 00:04:27.21\00:04:29.88 is going to be this, amen. 00:04:29.89\00:04:32.23 So that's what he does. 00:04:32.24\00:04:33.24 He goes by predictability, 00:04:33.25\00:04:34.66 but God knows what's on your mind. 00:04:34.67\00:04:36.86 But do you know that many times we don't even know 00:04:36.87\00:04:38.88 what's on our mind. 00:04:38.89\00:04:40.98 Is the heart deceitful? 00:04:40.99\00:04:43.67 Is it wicked? That's phenomenal. 00:09:17.12\00:09:21.65 But guess what, these things are preventable, 00:09:21.66\00:09:23.95 if you believe they're preventable say, amen. 00:09:23.96\00:09:26.30 Now I'm gonna ask you a question regarding illness. 00:09:26.31\00:09:29.16 I'm gonna ask you a question. 00:09:29.17\00:09:30.52 If you were traveling to some place 00:09:30.53\00:09:33.26 like Mexico or India 00:09:33.27\00:09:35.40 somewhere like that they might have contaminated water 00:09:35.41\00:09:38.54 or you are participating in an event 00:09:38.55\00:09:41.63 and you contracted food poisoning, 00:09:41.64\00:09:44.36 would you repeat or continue that same behavior 00:09:44.37\00:09:48.48 if this had happened to you previously? No. 00:09:48.49\00:09:53.06 Are you sure? 00:09:53.07\00:09:55.61 You all know, I'm setting you up, don't you? 00:09:55.62\00:09:57.97 Are you sure? 00:09:57.98\00:10:00.44 Because what we're doing now 00:10:00.45\00:10:03.36 not only will determine how long we will live, 00:10:03.37\00:10:06.96 but it will determine the quality of our life 00:10:06.97\00:10:09.62 and how we will die. 00:10:09.63\00:10:12.16 If you believe that say, amen. 00:10:12.17\00:10:14.00 Now to stop disease two things must occur. 00:10:14.01\00:10:17.05 Two thing must occur. 00:10:17.06\00:10:18.89 Number one we must stop doing 00:10:18.90\00:10:21.59 what is making us sick, amen. 00:10:21.60\00:10:23.71 Seems pretty simple. 00:10:23.72\00:10:24.97 We must stop and we must start doing 00:10:24.98\00:10:28.50 what will make us well. 00:10:28.51\00:10:30.81 Does that make sense? 00:10:30.82\00:10:32.42 But it's easier to said than done 00:10:32.43\00:10:35.02 because the enemy messes with our mind. 00:10:35.03\00:10:40.01 Next slide please. 00:10:40.02\00:10:41.31 So, the question I have for you today is, 00:10:41.32\00:10:44.18 "Is your brain on fire?" 00:10:44.19\00:10:48.16 "Is your brain on fire?" 00:10:48.17\00:10:51.48 A study was done by a professor Paul Thompson 00:10:51.49\00:10:55.23 at UCLA in the year 2001 00:10:55.24\00:10:59.01 where they show people with schizophrenia, 00:10:59.02\00:11:01.01 there was a certain type of MRI scan 00:11:01.02\00:11:02.78 that they can do on the brain 00:11:02.79\00:11:04.28 and when they compared it to normal brains, 00:11:04.29\00:11:06.73 the way that this gentleman described 00:11:06.74\00:11:08.33 it was that it appeared 00:11:08.34\00:11:10.35 as if there was a forest fire in these people's brains. 00:11:10.36\00:11:14.51 They were actually destroying nerve cells 00:11:14.52\00:11:17.04 in their brain. Their brain was on fire. 00:11:17.05\00:11:19.03 Time Magazine stated a few years ago 00:11:19.04\00:11:21.39 that the underlying cause in virtually all disease is, 00:11:21.40\00:11:24.87 does anybody remember what it was? 00:11:24.88\00:11:26.83 Inflammation. Inflammation. 00:11:26.84\00:11:30.36 Now what is the root word of the word inflammation? 00:11:30.37\00:11:34.28 Flame, which means what? 00:11:34.29\00:11:36.67 A fire. Is your brain on fire? 00:11:36.68\00:11:39.11 Now, let's look at a a brain comparison here. 00:11:39.12\00:11:41.03 Now we have here a human, 00:11:41.04\00:11:42.57 a monkey, a cat, a rat, and a frog. 00:11:42.58\00:11:46.84 And in our next slide we have some other animals 00:11:46.85\00:11:49.15 rabbits, raccoons, squirrels, camels, and dolphin. 00:11:49.16\00:11:53.45 Have you noticed, the human brain 00:11:53.46\00:11:55.45 has a lot of folds to it 00:11:55.46\00:11:57.42 and a lot of groves called sulci? 00:11:57.43\00:11:59.96 It is really a complex structure 00:11:59.97\00:12:01.97 and among these animals 00:12:01.98\00:12:03.44 the most similar to the human is the dolphin. 00:12:03.45\00:12:07.21 The dolphin, very intellectual creatures, 00:12:07.22\00:12:11.91 but we have been given a reasoning ability 00:12:11.92\00:12:15.04 that none of these animals have. 00:12:15.05\00:12:17.33 We were given dominion over all of them, 00:12:17.34\00:12:20.56 but do we use that dominion 00:12:20.57\00:12:22.14 to make the choices that we should make. 00:12:22.15\00:12:24.96 So let's talk about how the brain works. 00:12:24.97\00:12:26.94 The brain is composed of one trillion cells. 00:12:26.95\00:12:33.91 Now I didn't see you all get real excited 00:12:33.92\00:12:35.87 when I said, a trillion cells, 00:12:35.88\00:12:37.16 but if I said I was gonna give you a trillion dollars 00:12:37.17\00:12:38.79 you'll be quite excited, amen. 00:12:38.80\00:12:41.53 But a trillion cells and each of those cells 00:12:41.54\00:12:44.71 can have up to 10,000 connections 00:12:44.72\00:12:48.35 each to control the whole body. 00:12:48.36\00:12:51.09 Is that deep? 00:12:51.10\00:12:52.95 That is deep, that is deep. 00:12:52.96\00:12:54.97 So when you talk about the structure 00:12:54.98\00:12:56.26 of our brain alone, 00:12:56.27\00:12:57.68 the structure of our brain alone 00:12:57.69\00:13:00.03 shows that there are connections 00:13:00.04\00:13:03.29 that operate the entire body. 00:13:03.30\00:13:05.25 The brain does not work in isolation. 00:13:05.26\00:13:07.24 It does not work in isolation. 00:13:07.25\00:13:08.76 Every organ in our body is communicating with our brain. 00:13:08.77\00:13:12.75 Every organ in our body, I don't care what organ it is, 00:13:12.76\00:13:15.75 you can go to sleep at night 00:13:15.76\00:13:17.34 and count on your heart to continue beating, amen. 00:13:17.35\00:13:20.88 You can count on your lungs to continue breathing. 00:13:20.89\00:13:23.21 You can count on your digestion 00:13:23.22\00:13:24.44 to continue working. 00:13:24.45\00:13:25.95 All of these things are part of 00:13:25.96\00:13:27.19 what we call the autonomic nervous system. 00:13:27.20\00:13:29.67 Guess what they're connected to? 00:13:29.68\00:13:32.70 Your brain, your brain. 00:13:32.71\00:13:34.48 Now if you don't believe me, cut your head off, 00:13:34.49\00:13:37.42 all those things will stop working guaranteed. 00:13:39.59\00:13:42.51 Next slide. 00:13:42.52\00:13:43.62 So how at risk is the brain? 00:13:43.63\00:13:45.42 The bottom line I want you to get from this slide, 00:13:45.43\00:13:47.46 you don't have to read the whole slide. 00:13:47.47\00:13:48.58 But the bottom line I want you to get from this slide 00:13:48.59\00:13:51.13 is that the life of the flesh is in the what? The blood. 00:13:51.14\00:13:56.05 According to book of Leviticus, 00:13:56.06\00:13:57.22 the life of the flesh is in the blood. 00:13:57.23\00:13:59.26 Now the blood goes 00:13:59.27\00:14:00.51 to the entire body including the brain. 00:14:00.52\00:14:04.71 So whatever is coming to our blood stream 00:14:04.72\00:14:07.59 if there wasn't something 00:14:07.60\00:14:08.75 that we had called the blood brain barrier, 00:14:08.76\00:14:12.96 which kind of filters, what gets to our brain, 00:14:12.97\00:14:14.89 it can't keep everything out, 00:14:14.90\00:14:16.38 but it keeps a lot of things out. 00:14:16.39\00:14:18.20 With the things that are being put in our foods 00:14:18.21\00:14:19.93 today for example, every time we ate a meal 00:14:19.94\00:14:23.19 if we didn't have a blood brain barrier 00:14:23.20\00:14:25.42 we would go berserk. 00:14:25.43\00:14:28.97 Do you believe in a toxic society, 00:14:28.98\00:14:31.44 do you believe that we are in a poison, toxic society. 00:14:31.45\00:14:35.37 Our brains are being poisoned. 00:14:35.38\00:14:37.08 Do you believe that health begins in the mind, 00:14:37.09\00:14:40.91 with a conscious decision to do the right thing, 00:14:40.92\00:14:44.81 health begins in the mind. 00:14:44.82\00:14:46.48 Keep your heart, 00:14:46.49\00:14:48.24 the bottom line was keeping your heart 00:14:48.25\00:14:50.32 when you talk about keeping your heart 00:14:50.33\00:14:52.42 what are we really making reference to? 00:14:52.43\00:14:57.16 The mind, the mind. 00:14:57.17\00:14:59.47 When the Bible speaks of the heart, 00:14:59.48\00:15:01.41 it is speaking of the mind. 00:15:01.42\00:15:03.49 It's speaking of the mind. 00:15:03.50\00:15:04.92 So the commentary speaks of how we purify our heart 00:15:04.93\00:15:09.54 is keeping our mind pure. 00:15:09.55\00:15:11.31 Next slide please. 00:15:11.32\00:15:12.97 Proverbs 4:23, "Keep thy heart with all diligence, 00:15:12.98\00:15:17.23 for out of it are the issues of life." 00:15:17.24\00:15:20.77 What heart is it talking about? 00:15:20.78\00:15:22.44 Is it talking about this heart in our chest 00:15:24.82\00:15:27.48 or is it talking about this brain in our head? 00:15:27.49\00:15:32.62 Brothers, how does the enemy of our souls attack us. 00:15:32.63\00:15:36.47 How does he tempt us? Through our what? 00:15:38.89\00:15:42.25 Through our mind, 00:15:42.26\00:15:43.72 through our five senses, amen. 00:15:43.73\00:15:46.08 Through our five senses, he whether it's-- 00:15:46.09\00:15:49.25 Now think about what happened in the garden, 00:15:49.26\00:15:51.18 the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eye, 00:15:51.19\00:15:54.31 and the pry of life. 00:15:54.32\00:15:56.30 It is these five senses 00:15:56.31\00:15:57.76 that he always uses to get to us. 00:15:57.77\00:16:00.74 Earlier in the meeting today, 00:16:00.75\00:16:02.32 many of us came forward saying that they are things 00:16:02.33\00:16:03.98 that we're having struggles with 00:16:03.99\00:16:05.82 and David Asscherick let us know 00:16:05.83\00:16:07.02 if we're having struggles at least 00:16:07.03\00:16:08.97 we're still in the game, amen. 00:16:08.98\00:16:11.10 But if you think about 00:16:11.11\00:16:12.14 what your particular struggle might be. 00:16:12.15\00:16:14.23 It's a battle that begins in your mind, amen. 00:16:14.24\00:16:16.53 So let's talk about something 00:16:16.54\00:16:17.53 that's directly connected to the mind, the tongue. 00:16:17.54\00:16:21.50 How is my tongue? 00:16:21.51\00:16:24.31 What does the book of James say about the tongue? 00:16:24.32\00:16:26.86 Let's look at it. 00:16:26.87\00:16:28.44 It says, "Even so the tongue is a little member 00:16:28.45\00:16:31.67 and boasteth great things, especially men, 00:16:31.68\00:16:34.61 we can talk trash, amen. 00:16:34.62\00:16:37.24 We can, behold how great a matter, 00:16:37.25\00:16:39.60 a little fire kindleth with and the tongue is a fire. 00:16:39.61\00:16:43.47 A word of iniquity, 00:16:43.48\00:16:44.90 so is the tongue among our members. 00:16:44.91\00:16:48.18 They defileth what, the whole body. 00:16:48.19\00:16:52.00 The tongue alone can defile the whole body 00:16:52.01\00:16:54.90 and set it on fire the course of nature, 00:16:54.91\00:16:56.81 and is set on fire of hell. 00:16:56.82\00:17:01.44 For every kind of beasts and of birds and of serpents, 00:17:01.45\00:17:05.55 and of things in the sea, 00:17:05.56\00:17:07.12 is tamed and hath been tamed of mankind. 00:17:07.13\00:17:09.90 But the tongue can no man tame. 00:17:09.91\00:17:13.73 It is an unruly evil full of deadly poison. 00:17:13.74\00:17:18.21 Therewith bless we God, therewith curse we men, 00:17:18.22\00:17:20.80 which are made after the similitude of God." 00:17:20.81\00:17:22.88 These things are not be so, amen. 00:17:22.89\00:17:25.42 Can a fountain bring forth both bitter water and sweet? 00:17:25.43\00:17:28.28 It should not. 00:17:28.29\00:17:29.91 All generation of vipers, Matthew 12:34 says, 00:17:29.92\00:17:32.59 "How can ye be evil, speak good things, 00:17:32.60\00:17:35.72 for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh." 00:17:35.73\00:17:38.41 If you want to know a person's character 00:17:38.42\00:17:41.11 listen to their words, amen. 00:17:41.12\00:17:44.27 Listen to their words. 00:17:44.28\00:17:45.95 If you listen to someone's speech, 00:17:45.96\00:17:47.75 if you've any doubts I don't care 00:17:47.76\00:17:49.36 what a person claims to be in this spiritual walk, 00:17:49.37\00:17:53.13 listen to what they're saying and you will know. 00:17:53.14\00:17:56.05 Because that is the heart of the mind speaking. 00:17:56.06\00:17:59.32 Now you know, medicine, 00:17:59.33\00:18:00.78 we medical doctors can make things quite complex, amen. 00:18:00.79\00:18:04.91 Sometimes when you come to our office, 00:18:04.92\00:18:06.74 it's like we're speaking another language. 00:18:06.75\00:18:09.51 Am I telling the truth? 00:18:09.52\00:18:10.76 We start rolling these words that you-- 00:18:10.77\00:18:12.47 And you're like. 00:26:29.24\00:26:31.59 Did you know that Cortisol is a neurotoxin 00:26:31.60\00:26:35.43 just like the excitotoxins. 00:26:35.44\00:26:37.37 But you would say, doc, didn't God make Cortisol? 00:26:37.38\00:26:41.38 Yes, he did, but did he ever mean for us 00:26:41.39\00:26:43.86 to be under as much stress as we are right now. 00:26:43.87\00:26:47.93 What do you think? 00:26:47.94\00:26:50.29 I'll give you a scenario. 00:26:50.30\00:26:51.98 There is a zebra 00:26:51.99\00:26:54.76 who's hanging out in the prairies of Africa 00:26:54.77\00:26:57.75 and he's just having a good time 00:26:57.76\00:26:59.67 munching on the grass, just chilling. 00:26:59.68\00:27:03.10 He hears a noise and he looks up 00:27:03.11\00:27:05.50 and there's a lion charging at him. 00:27:05.51\00:27:08.74 Brothers, is he stressed? 00:28:38.71\00:28:41.93 Let's talk about one particular area 00:28:41.94\00:28:43.26 of the brain the hippocampus. 00:28:43.27\00:28:44.71 The hippocampus is the part of the brain 00:28:44.72\00:28:47.36 that is important for learning and memory 00:28:47.37\00:28:49.89 and what you're gonna learn key 00:28:49.90\00:28:51.60 about this hippocampus today is something 00:28:51.61\00:28:53.86 that they don't teach us 00:28:53.87\00:28:55.19 and something that the devil does not want us to know. 00:28:55.20\00:28:59.20 He does not want us to understand this 00:28:59.21\00:29:01.58 because we will found out 00:29:01.59\00:29:02.62 that we have unlimited power in God, 00:29:02.63\00:29:04.99 if we learn this. Next slide please. 00:29:05.00\00:29:08.19 The hippocampus if we go on this slide 00:29:08.20\00:29:10.35 and we see that hippocampus is located 00:29:10.36\00:29:15.10 on the underside of the brain 00:29:15.11\00:29:16.43 and this arrow will show you 00:29:16.44\00:29:18.06 that it is a very small area 00:29:18.07\00:29:20.45 in comparison to the entire brain. 00:29:20.46\00:29:22.77 There's another area there called the amygdala 00:29:22.78\00:29:25.06 that's in close relation to it, 00:29:25.07\00:29:26.37 you just see the arrow pointing to it, 00:29:26.38\00:29:27.98 but the hippocampus itself is not a big area. 00:29:27.99\00:29:30.97 Now when you think about the fact 00:29:30.98\00:29:32.72 that all of the data, all of the things 00:29:32.73\00:29:35.67 that you have experienced in your life 00:29:35.68\00:29:37.52 are stored in that brain, is stored in the brain. 00:29:37.53\00:29:42.27 Your brain is greater than any super computer 00:29:42.28\00:29:45.42 that they could ever build. 00:29:45.43\00:29:46.72 You think we can build something better than God. 00:29:46.73\00:29:49.45 No way, no way. 00:29:49.46\00:29:51.50 The hippocampus, I want you to pay attention 00:29:51.51\00:29:53.28 to the yellow words on this slide 00:29:53.29\00:29:55.21 and listen to the hippocampus. 00:29:55.22\00:29:56.79 The hippocampus is also the area 00:29:56.80\00:29:59.72 where most of the neurons that are involved in memory 00:29:59.73\00:30:05.16 are regenerated throughout the entire lifetime. 00:30:05.17\00:30:10.24 What's the key word in there? Regenerated. 00:30:12.01\00:30:17.82 Are we not lead to believe that, 00:30:17.83\00:30:19.86 oh as I get old I'm just not suppose to remember stuff 00:30:19.87\00:30:22.96 like I used to. 00:30:22.97\00:30:24.98 Isn't that what we talk? 00:30:24.99\00:30:26.03 Oh, I'm just old and forgetful may be I'm-- 00:30:26.04\00:30:28.44 We make jokes about it, 00:30:28.45\00:30:29.91 oh may be I'm getting the Alzheimer's. 00:30:29.92\00:30:32.39 Do you know that's what the enemy wants you to believe. 00:30:32.40\00:30:35.11 Do you know he want you to believe that 00:30:35.12\00:30:36.72 you cannot remember the word of God 00:30:36.73\00:30:38.58 like you used to. 00:30:38.59\00:30:40.69 Do you know that you have the ability 00:30:40.70\00:30:42.96 to regenerate that memory for the rest of your natural life? 00:30:42.97\00:30:47.63 Not only that, but the hippocampus 00:30:47.64\00:30:49.63 is also involved in brain plasticity. 00:30:49.64\00:30:53.87 What do you I mean by plasticity? 00:30:53.88\00:30:55.94 Right, flexible. 00:30:57.46\00:30:59.27 That means your brain has gear. 00:30:59.28\00:31:01.19 Now you know we, especially as men 00:31:01.20\00:31:02.63 can be very rigid, amen. 00:31:02.64\00:31:05.37 Are there not times that our significant 00:31:05.38\00:31:08.10 other may even be right about something 00:31:08.11\00:31:10.13 and we're not gonna admit it. 00:31:10.14\00:31:12.60 Because I'm a man, I'm standing my ground. 00:31:12.61\00:31:16.21 Or there are times when the Holy Spirit speaks to us 00:31:16.22\00:31:18.86 and we know, we know, I got one brother busting up, 00:31:18.87\00:31:23.46 I must have really touched a nerve with him. 00:31:23.47\00:31:25.31 We know that we are too rigid, 00:31:25.32\00:31:30.47 we know that the Holy Spirit is dealing with us 00:31:30.48\00:31:32.50 on a certain area that we know we need to change, 00:31:32.51\00:31:34.99 but our brains are too rigid, our minds are too rigid. 00:31:35.00\00:31:39.87 The Bible has a particular word for that 00:31:39.88\00:31:42.06 and he referred it to as the Pharaoh 00:31:42.07\00:31:44.07 and the Israelites. 00:31:44.08\00:31:45.48 Many times using this word, we're stiff necked. 00:31:45.49\00:31:48.99 Brothers are we stiff neck sometimes, amen. 00:31:49.00\00:31:52.20 So, if we look at this diagram of the brain 00:31:52.21\00:31:54.31 in a 27 year old and an 87 year old, 00:31:54.32\00:31:58.79 you'll see in that 87 year old that's on your left, 00:31:58.80\00:32:02.93 that there's a big space, 00:32:02.94\00:32:05.12 black space around that hippocampus area 00:32:05.13\00:32:08.07 because that hippocampus has degenerated. 00:32:08.08\00:32:10.82 Do you think this gentleman has a good memory? 00:32:10.83\00:32:13.43 No, he does not, 00:32:13.44\00:32:14.88 but the question I ask you today, 00:32:14.89\00:32:16.62 after what you've learned is, does this have to happen. 00:32:16.63\00:32:20.47 No it is not. 00:32:20.48\00:32:22.39 It's a choice, it's a choice, amen. 00:32:22.40\00:32:28.14 It's a choice. 00:32:28.15\00:32:29.46 Next slide please. 00:32:29.47\00:32:31.42 Good news, we don't have to become demented. 00:32:31.43\00:32:34.08 We hear them talk about all the time 00:32:34.09\00:32:35.72 we hear about all the essential fatty acids, 00:32:35.73\00:32:38.05 omega 6 and omega 3 fatty acids, 00:32:38.06\00:32:40.24 get it from fish, fish, fish, fish. 00:32:40.25\00:32:42.85 Do we hear that? 00:32:42.86\00:32:43.93 As some people that are trying to be vegetarians 00:32:43.94\00:32:46.39 because the vegetarian diet has been proven 00:32:46.40\00:32:48.54 over and over and over again to be the healthiest diet. 00:32:48.55\00:32:51.37 Oh, I got to get, 00:32:51.38\00:32:52.37 but I got to get my omega 6 is very rich in fish, 00:32:52.38\00:32:55.43 sunflower seeds, flaxseeds, amen. 00:32:55.44\00:32:59.55 They have the same omega 6 00:32:59.56\00:33:01.02 and omega 3 fatty acids in them. 00:33:01.03\00:33:04.32 It's much less expensive and you won't get the mercury 00:33:04.33\00:33:07.23 that you do in the fish. 00:33:07.24\00:33:09.11 Also we need to address insulin resistance issues, 00:33:09.12\00:33:12.30 when we talk about insulin resistance, 00:33:12.31\00:33:14.00 we are in a society now 00:33:14.01\00:33:16.11 that is just burdened with diabetes, amen. 00:33:16.12\00:33:19.77 Type 2 diabetes is rapid. 00:33:19.78\00:33:21.69 Do you realize that 00:33:21.70\00:33:22.69 between creation in 1980 in this country 00:33:22.70\00:33:25.87 about six million people were diagnosed with diabetes. 00:33:25.88\00:33:29.92 And between 1980 and 2000 that number doubled. 00:33:29.93\00:33:35.38 It doubled. 00:33:37.58\00:33:39.36 These people are insulin resistant people 00:33:39.37\00:33:41.33 because of the junk foods 00:33:41.34\00:33:43.19 they we're eating were making too much insulin 00:33:43.20\00:33:45.50 and insulin has been proven to be 00:33:45.51\00:33:47.84 a pro-inflammatory hormone. 00:33:47.85\00:33:50.82 Now let's break that word up if your brain is on fire, 00:33:50.83\00:33:55.30 do you want something 00:33:55.31\00:33:56.72 that's going to encourage inflammation. 00:33:56.73\00:33:58.49 Yeah, unless you want to burn it up, 00:34:00.58\00:34:02.50 unless you want to just told you get rid of it 00:34:02.51\00:34:04.60 and also on the slide, it talks about 00:34:04.61\00:34:06.04 lowering Cortisol levels, 00:34:06.05\00:34:07.19 so it all comes back to God's plan for help. 00:34:07.20\00:34:10.21 It all comes back doing the right things for our body. 00:34:10.22\00:34:13.16 Next slide please. 00:34:13.17\00:34:15.03 Now, who is the person 00:34:15.04\00:34:16.57 that fits in this acetylcholine profile? 00:34:16.58\00:34:19.80 Usually over 40 they feel that 00:34:19.81\00:34:21.37 their memory is not sharp as it used to be, 00:34:21.38\00:34:22.92 they forget the names of the people, 00:34:22.93\00:34:24.06 they might have a family history of dementia, 00:34:24.07\00:34:26.14 they might have a personal history 00:34:26.15\00:34:27.90 of head trauma, 00:34:27.91\00:34:29.08 and they can't learn new things like they used to. 00:34:29.09\00:34:32.92 The Bible says that when Moses died, 00:34:32.93\00:34:35.17 he was how old? 00:51:12.38\00:51:13.95 Let's look at serotonin boosting foods. 00:51:13.96\00:51:15.82 Now I highlighted some in particular. 00:51:15.83\00:51:17.57 Because we always hear, oh if you want 00:51:17.58\00:51:19.08 high serotonin levels eat turkey. 00:51:19.09\00:51:20.87 Turkey will make you happy 00:51:20.88\00:51:22.34 and avocado will make you happier. 00:51:22.35\00:51:26.23 Oh chocolate, chocolate just makes me feel 00:51:26.24\00:51:28.11 especially our ladies they love chocolate. 00:51:28.12\00:51:31.19 I tell you there's an estrogen chocolate link, amen. 00:51:31.20\00:51:36.94 Guys love pizza, women love chocolate. 00:51:36.95\00:51:39.86 But guess what, oat flakes, 00:51:39.87\00:51:42.09 oats will raise your serotonin levels 00:51:42.10\00:51:44.78 almost twice as much as chocolate will. 00:51:44.79\00:51:47.46 Next slide please. 00:51:47.47\00:51:49.47 So a natural approach, 00:51:49.48\00:51:50.84 we need to basically control stress in our lives 00:51:50.85\00:51:54.59 to keep that Cortisol and serotonin in balance. 00:51:54.60\00:51:59.21 So now let's go to the trouble sleeping. 00:51:59.22\00:52:03.20 Sixty million Americans, is that a lot of people, 00:52:03.21\00:52:08.01 that's a lot of people, 00:52:08.02\00:52:09.01 sixty million Americans suffer 00:52:09.02\00:52:10.95 from disturbed sleep characterized 00:52:10.96\00:52:12.60 by functional impairments during the day. 00:52:12.61\00:52:14.65 If you don't sleep well at night 00:52:14.66\00:52:18.14 you're not gonna function well the next day. 00:52:18.15\00:52:19.84 Is that common sense, brothers? 00:52:19.85\00:52:21.59 Common sense, but this number is actually low, 00:52:21.60\00:52:25.68 because most people that have sleep disturbances 00:52:25.69\00:52:27.77 never go to the doctor. 00:52:27.78\00:52:28.91 If you look at this next slide 00:52:28.92\00:52:30.20 that talks about insomnia there has been a 30% to 40% 00:52:30.21\00:52:33.26 prevalence of episodic insomnia, 00:52:33.30\00:52:35.10 that means that many of us probably most of us 00:52:35.11\00:52:39.35 have had problem sleeping for one reason 00:52:39.36\00:52:41.77 or another at some point in our lives, amen, 00:52:41.78\00:52:45.25 10% to 15% of people suffer from chronic insomnia, 00:52:45.26\00:52:49.06 chronic insomnia. 00:52:49.07\00:52:51.53 And there is a significant association 00:52:51.54\00:52:53.28 with anxiety and depression. 00:52:53.29\00:52:56.73 Our body's on what you call a zirconium rhythm. 00:52:56.74\00:52:58.43 Anybody know what a zirconium rhythm is? 00:52:58.44\00:53:00.82 It's a clock, it's a clock. 00:53:00.83\00:53:02.91 Our body is on an automatic clock 00:53:02.92\00:53:04.93 and that clock basically says we should work during the day 00:53:04.94\00:53:09.65 and we should sleep at night. 00:53:09.66\00:53:12.45 There is a study called the nurse's health study 00:53:12.46\00:53:14.64 that demonstrated that nurses 00:53:14.65\00:53:16.00 that work the midnight shift develop cancer twice as much, 00:53:16.01\00:53:19.98 cancer of the breast twice as much as the women 00:53:19.99\00:53:21.85 that work the day shift 00:53:21.86\00:53:22.88 with all other risk factors being the same. 00:53:22.89\00:53:25.08 So things like seasonal affective disorder, 00:53:25.09\00:53:26.87 where we don't have any sunlight to make vitamin D 00:53:26.88\00:53:28.74 and serotonin, shift workers, 00:53:28.75\00:53:30.78 jet lag all of these things will disturb our sleep. 00:53:30.79\00:53:33.77 Next slide please. 00:53:33.78\00:53:34.80 Now we got drugs, as you can see from this list, 00:53:34.81\00:53:37.86 we've got many drugs that we can give you for insomnia, 00:53:37.87\00:53:41.66 but are we treating the cause of the problem. 00:53:41.67\00:53:46.86 And if something is going to give you, 00:53:46.87\00:53:48.06 did you know these drugs can give you a hangover. 00:53:48.07\00:53:50.17 Did you know that these drugs can actually give you amnesia? 00:53:50.18\00:53:54.62 Did you know that you can get addicted to these drugs? 00:53:54.63\00:53:58.25 And did you know that you can actually have rebound insomnia 00:53:58.26\00:54:02.00 from these drugs. In the brain. 00:54:17.14\00:54:20.20 So we'll go and called the pineal gland. 00:54:20.21\00:54:21.93 Now what turns to melatonin? 00:54:21.94\00:54:25.24 Serotonin, in other words 00:54:25.25\00:54:27.50 we got to be happy to sleep. 00:54:28.70\00:54:31.36 If you don't make serotonin, 00:54:31.37\00:54:33.00 you can't convert it to melatonin. 00:54:33.01\00:54:35.88 So the two go hand in hand. 00:54:35.89\00:54:37.21 Next slide please. 00:54:37.22\00:54:38.71 So sleep hygiene recommendations 00:54:38.72\00:54:40.19 eliminate caffeine and nicotine. 00:54:40.20\00:54:41.92 Wow, it kind of sounds like the health message. 00:54:41.93\00:54:44.41 Reduce alcohol consumption. 00:54:44.42\00:54:45.78 Well, it kind of sounds like the health message. 00:54:45.79\00:54:47.72 Avoid heavy meals prior to bedtime, 00:54:47.73\00:54:49.61 this is science it sounds like a health message. 00:54:49.62\00:54:52.12 Regular exercise, oh it sounds like 00:54:52.13\00:54:53.64 the health message. 00:54:53.65\00:54:55.55 Avoid daytime naps, minimize noise, 00:54:55.56\00:54:58.36 light, and excess temperature. 00:54:58.37\00:55:00.35 Passionflower, traditional herb 00:55:00.36\00:55:02.66 used for its sedative 00:55:02.67\00:55:03.77 and anxiolytic properties that can help 00:55:03.78\00:55:05.97 with sleep and stress 00:55:05.98\00:55:07.50 and it can act just like a drug 00:55:07.51\00:55:10.72 called benzodiazepines with no hangover, 00:55:10.73\00:55:14.18 no side effects. 00:55:14.19\00:55:15.18 I'm not telling you go out and buy it. 00:55:15.19\00:55:16.86 I'm telling you that God has a solution 00:55:16.87\00:55:19.04 for every one of our problems. 00:55:19.05\00:55:20.64 God needs, this is the bottom line. 00:55:20.65\00:55:23.12 God needs our minds in excellent shape 00:55:23.13\00:55:25.73 to have an excellent relationship with Him, 00:55:25.74\00:55:27.54 if you believe that say amen. 00:55:27.55\00:55:30.08 The devil wants our minds, brothers. 00:55:30.09\00:55:32.42 He wants our minds. 00:55:32.43\00:55:33.71 He wants them to be forgetful, 00:55:33.72\00:55:35.50 he wants them to be anxious, he wants them to be depressed, 00:55:35.51\00:55:38.92 distracted, and/or fatigued 00:55:38.93\00:55:41.22 so that he can destroy that relationship with God. 00:55:41.23\00:55:44.73 If he can destroy that relationship with God, 00:55:44.74\00:55:46.71 he can destroy the relationship 00:55:46.72\00:55:48.05 with our fellowmen. 00:55:48.06\00:55:49.24 He wants us to not think about these eight law of health 00:55:49.25\00:55:52.94 called God's plan. 00:55:52.95\00:55:54.37 Godly shall stand with our creator, 00:55:54.38\00:55:56.23 spending time in the open air, 00:55:56.24\00:55:57.72 getting exercise everyday, spending time in the sunlight, 00:55:57.73\00:56:01.24 getting proper rest, drinking lots of water, 00:56:01.25\00:56:03.73 being temperate, which means avoiding everything 00:56:03.74\00:56:05.90 that you know is bad for you and doing the good things 00:56:05.91\00:56:08.16 in moderation and proper nutrition. 00:56:08.17\00:56:10.38 All eight of these must be done equally. 00:56:10.39\00:56:12.08 Some people will call this a new start, 00:56:12.09\00:56:14.29 but they're the same eight doctors and brothers, 00:56:14.30\00:56:17.76 they're free. 00:56:17.77\00:56:19.48 The Bible says in Romans Chapter 12 verse 1, 00:56:19.49\00:56:22.90 very, very familiar passage. 00:56:22.91\00:56:24.34 "I beseech you therefore brethren, 00:56:24.35\00:56:25.96 by the mercies of God, 00:56:25.97\00:56:27.42 that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice. 00:56:27.43\00:56:31.30 We're no good to them dead, 00:56:31.31\00:56:32.53 living sacrifice, totally acceptable unto God, 00:56:32.54\00:56:34.92 which is your reasonable service." 00:56:34.93\00:56:37.63 And be not conformed to this world, 00:56:37.64\00:56:39.29 but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind. 00:56:39.30\00:56:43.27 That ye may prove what is that good 00:56:43.28\00:56:45.15 and acceptable and perfect will of God. 00:56:45.16\00:56:47.31 The more time we spend with the God, 00:56:47.32\00:56:49.01 the smarter we get. 00:56:49.02\00:56:51.52 This gentleman say, I don't like, 00:56:51.53\00:56:53.41 I don't like the way I am, I need a transformation. 00:56:53.42\00:56:56.77 I've had to make difficult choices, 00:56:58.23\00:57:00.19 but the transformation that God brings about in health, 00:57:00.20\00:57:04.27 in mind are more than worth it. 00:57:04.28\00:57:07.45 God bless you, gentlemen.
