Let's bow our heads in a word of prayer. 00:01:00.78\00:01:02.02 Our kind Father, we humbly, graciously 00:01:03.92\00:01:09.53 bow on your side, we're totally aware of 00:01:09.54\00:01:14.36 the love that you show us, the love that 00:01:14.37\00:01:16.77 you have for us here. It's good to come 00:01:16.78\00:01:20.40 before you forgiven under the grace of God. 00:01:20.41\00:01:24.57 It's good for us to be able to come apart 00:01:26.59\00:01:28.30 and listen to your word and learn of 00:01:28.46\00:01:32.88 your marvelous grace, your marvelous love. 00:01:32.89\00:01:35.08 I pray tonight that you'll speak through 00:01:36.66\00:01:37.99 your word, that we'll get a picture of Jesus 00:01:38.00\00:01:41.68 that we perhaps have not had before, 00:01:42.01\00:01:43.94 that we'll see Him as our helper in our bad 00:01:45.25\00:01:48.79 times in Christ name, amen. 00:01:48.80\00:01:54.15 It was a cold January evening 00:01:57.00\00:01:58.44 in New York, Long Island. 00:02:00.22\00:02:01.79 A young man was jogging along the 00:02:03.23\00:02:04.82 high school track, doing his exercise, 00:02:04.83\00:02:09.37 getting ready for a Triathlon, he was a 00:02:09.83\00:02:11.86 triathlon runner and he was getting ready 00:02:11.87\00:02:13.99 for the next event and he told his wife when 00:02:14.00\00:02:16.84 he left for the track he said I'll just be 00:02:16.85\00:02:18.90 an hour or so and I'll be back before dark. 00:02:19.66\00:02:22.12 He didn't show up at home at dark his wife 00:02:24.08\00:02:26.85 got worried about him and she jumped in the 00:02:26.86\00:02:29.22 car with the little one and the dog and drove 00:02:29.23\00:02:31.99 out to the track and, in the growing darkness 00:02:32.00\00:02:35.88 she could see someone laying on the track. 00:02:35.89\00:02:38.51 She pulled the car over and jumped out 00:02:40.34\00:02:42.16 and ran over and Jimmy was lying in pool of blood. 00:02:42.17\00:02:44.97 Someone had come by while he was 00:02:47.65\00:02:49.23 jogging and shot him, killed him in cold 00:02:49.24\00:02:52.05 blood, when they finally caught the 00:02:52.06\00:02:56.52 person, who brutally killed him. 00:02:56.53\00:03:00.84 They asked the young man why did you do this? 00:03:02.50\00:03:04.89 Did you know him? No. Then why did you do this? 00:03:06.68\00:03:10.93 He said well I wanted to feel what it felt like 00:03:12.37\00:03:15.85 to kill someone, I went to the movies 00:03:15.86\00:03:18.40 the night before and I saw this movie called 00:03:18.41\00:03:20.93 Natural Born Killers and it was about a 00:03:20.94\00:03:22.64 thrill kill and I wanted to feel what it felt like and. 00:03:22.95\00:03:26.12 Jimmy was my nephew, he left a little 00:03:28.69\00:03:33.16 baby girl and his wife two weeks later bore 00:03:33.17\00:03:35.72 twins, but Jimmy will never see until the kingdom. 00:03:35.73\00:03:39.62 I thought as I was confronted with that 00:03:41.86\00:03:43.97 terrible tragedy, is there any hope for 00:03:43.98\00:03:47.96 the future of this young woman, 00:03:47.97\00:03:49.40 and her three little babies. 00:03:51.15\00:03:52.78 Is there any answer, why is God silent 00:03:54.70\00:03:58.87 when we ask important questions, 00:04:00.71\00:04:02.64 why is life so hard even for Christians. 00:04:04.35\00:04:08.54 Now everyone of us here have those days 00:04:09.92\00:04:12.02 you know those bad those kind of days, 00:04:12.03\00:04:14.13 those days you wish you hadn't got out of bed. 00:04:14.14\00:04:17.37 I mean, look at poor Chippy, you heard 00:04:20.06\00:04:22.68 about Chippy didn't you, the parakeet. 00:04:22.69\00:04:24.57 Poor Chippy the parakeet was sitting in 00:04:26.47\00:04:28.30 his cage doing what parakeets do, 00:04:28.31\00:04:31.14 peacefully perched, the next he was 00:04:33.86\00:04:37.79 sucked up, washed up, blown over, 00:04:37.80\00:04:40.69 the problem begin when Chippy owner 00:04:41.35\00:04:43.11 decided to clean the cage, she thought she 00:04:43.12\00:04:48.32 don't want to make a mess and so she used 00:04:48.33\00:04:50.11 the vacuum cleaner. So she took the 00:04:50.12\00:04:54.66 vacuum cleaner pot and she stuck the 00:04:54.67\00:04:57.35 vacuum cleaner into the cage just then the 00:04:57.36\00:04:59.49 phone ring, and she reached for the phone 00:04:59.50\00:05:03.44 and there was a, and she turned around and 00:05:03.74\00:05:08.40 poor Chippy wasn't there, 00:05:08.41\00:05:09.98 she began to panic and so she did what 00:05:12.15\00:05:14.08 any good parakeet owner would do she 00:05:14.09\00:05:16.91 dropped the phone and she ran to the 00:05:17.05\00:05:18.78 vacuum and she turned it off and then 00:05:18.79\00:05:21.21 she fumbled to try to get it open, when she 00:05:21.22\00:05:23.56 got it open there poor Chippy was standing, 00:05:23.57\00:05:26.88 trembling covered in dust and dirt. 00:05:27.37\00:05:30.49 And so being such a kind and loving 00:05:31.93\00:05:33.70 parakeet keeper she did the next best thing 00:05:34.15\00:05:37.42 she took Chippy and she ran for the faucet. 00:05:37.43\00:05:40.01 She turned on the cold water. 00:05:43.94\00:05:46.00 Now poor Chippy shivering and then 00:05:48.31\00:05:51.52 she realized what she had done so being a 00:05:51.53\00:05:54.16 wonderful parakeet owner and one that 00:05:54.17\00:05:56.99 loved a parakeet she ran for the hair dryer. 00:05:57.00\00:06:00.05 Poor Chippy. Few days later after the 00:06:08.38\00:06:14.63 trauma, the reporter that had reported it in 00:06:14.64\00:06:17.83 the newspaper called back to find out how 00:06:17.84\00:06:19.67 poor Chippy was doing. 00:06:19.68\00:06:20.79 Well she replied Chippy doesn't sing 00:06:23.31\00:06:25.14 much anymore, he just sits and stares, 00:06:25.15\00:06:32.43 it's not hard to see why is it. 00:06:35.30\00:06:36.80 Sucked in, washed up, I mean blown over, 00:06:38.09\00:06:40.80 that's enough to steal the song from anyone. 00:06:41.25\00:06:43.72 Can you relate to Chippy? Come on now. 00:06:45.80\00:06:49.59 I mean most of us can and we had days like 00:06:51.93\00:06:54.27 Chippy days haven't we? I mean life it seems to 00:06:54.28\00:06:57.59 us all of a sudden everything goes wrong, 00:06:57.60\00:07:00.45 you try to loose a little weight, 00:07:00.72\00:07:01.96 but it never seems to happen. 00:07:02.95\00:07:04.36 You think of making a shift in your career, 00:07:05.73\00:07:07.71 maybe even serving God but you can 00:07:07.89\00:07:09.60 never actually get to it, perhaps some of 00:07:09.61\00:07:13.93 you even made the jump but it doesn't 00:07:13.94\00:07:15.50 pan out the way you expect it and so you're 00:07:15.51\00:07:17.69 right back on the run again, you try to 00:07:18.06\00:07:21.71 recover something in your marriage and 00:07:21.72\00:07:23.95 your spouse looks at you with a glance and 00:07:23.96\00:07:25.91 says nice try, isn't it a little late 00:07:25.92\00:07:29.92 and an argument breaks out in front of the kids. 00:07:31.82\00:07:35.32 And yes we have faith, but even there it 00:07:36.73\00:07:39.71 seems to fall short of a promise, 00:07:39.72\00:07:42.03 I mean life never seems to turn out the 00:07:42.04\00:07:44.38 way we want at least a 100 percent 00:07:44.39\00:07:47.17 or 90 percent, one minute we're seen in 00:07:47.56\00:07:50.90 a familiar territory with a song on our 00:07:50.91\00:07:52.91 lips and a pink slip comes or bad news 00:07:52.92\00:07:56.46 from the doctor or the divorce is final or the 00:07:56.47\00:08:00.56 check bounces at the bank and the 00:08:00.57\00:08:02.36 policeman knocks at the door. 00:08:02.37\00:08:03.83 The life that is so calm is now so 00:08:05.29\00:08:08.07 stormy; the life that you thought you had 00:08:08.08\00:08:09.83 security is gone. The life that when 00:08:09.96\00:08:12.34 along without a glitch now is full of 00:08:12.35\00:08:14.02 surprises, from calm to storming moments. 00:08:14.03\00:08:17.20 When I read the story, I tried to find the 00:08:19.85\00:08:23.29 lesson that God had for me about Chippy 00:08:23.30\00:08:25.99 and my Chippy days, maybe it says bad 00:08:26.70\00:08:29.91 things happen to good birds I don't know, 00:08:29.92\00:08:32.78 or the world is good and the world is bad, 00:08:34.27\00:08:36.16 I don't know if that explains it. 00:08:38.09\00:08:39.45 If it can happen, it will happen, 00:08:40.97\00:08:45.22 or wait a little longer and life will change, 00:08:46.95\00:08:51.80 life will change. I have learned from 00:08:53.45\00:08:56.60 life and from living as a believer as a 00:08:56.61\00:08:59.02 Christian even, I've learned that there 00:08:59.03\00:09:00.71 is a cycle of goodness and there is a cycle of 00:09:00.72\00:09:03.10 badness and there's a cycle of redemption 00:09:03.11\00:09:05.54 and it applies for everything, 00:09:05.82\00:09:07.06 everyone in this universe hope vanishes, 00:09:07.07\00:09:11.19 if God is so big and so concerned and caring 00:09:11.50\00:09:13.83 why is my life such a bummer. 00:09:13.84\00:09:15.49 Now that's the question behind most 00:09:15.80\00:09:17.72 questions, that's the reason why men and 00:09:17.73\00:09:21.19 women don't believe or serve God many times, 00:09:21.20\00:09:24.41 why is it? Such devastation you 00:09:26.47\00:09:29.08 know, such violence and crime and terror 00:09:29.09\00:09:31.62 why do believers have more questions then 00:09:31.96\00:09:34.11 they do answers I mean if God is good 00:09:34.12\00:09:36.45 then why do bad things happen to His 00:09:36.46\00:09:39.19 people I mean to good people. 00:09:39.20\00:09:41.41 Now I can understand if bad things happen 00:09:41.79\00:09:43.81 to bad people, they deserve it, 00:09:43.82\00:09:45.96 but why does it happen to me, 00:09:49.13\00:09:50.30 I don't think I deserve it and you don't think 00:09:52.35\00:09:55.88 you deserve it. If God loves me eternally, 00:09:55.89\00:10:00.99 unconditionally then why aren't I happier 00:10:01.00\00:10:06.04 and why doesn't it turn out better for me, 00:10:08.33\00:10:10.21 if God is pleased with me why doesn't I, 00:10:11.79\00:10:14.02 why don't I experience more 00:10:14.24\00:10:15.62 pleasure in my life, I mean more peace 00:10:15.63\00:10:17.51 in my life, if I'm suppose to receive 00:10:17.52\00:10:19.71 the peace that passeth understanding, why is 00:10:19.72\00:10:22.26 my life in such turmoil. 00:10:22.27\00:10:23.86 Now these questions put God on trial, 00:10:27.06\00:10:29.02 your experience puts God on trial. 00:10:31.08\00:10:33.05 There is one here, there is no one here 00:10:34.51\00:10:36.07 that has not faced a devastating tragedy in 00:10:36.08\00:10:39.10 his or her life that puts God on trial, 00:10:39.11\00:10:41.39 consider how many times your life has 00:10:41.68\00:10:43.57 taken a devastating turn for the worst, 00:10:43.58\00:10:45.85 think about it for just a moment, 00:10:46.14\00:10:47.64 when I wrote my book on prayer, 00:10:49.34\00:10:50.74 prayer warrior, it came out in January, 00:10:51.60\00:10:54.51 in January my nephew was, as I just 00:10:54.52\00:10:55.94 told you the story was viciously murdered, 00:10:55.95\00:10:58.54 a few months later my father dropped dead 00:10:59.63\00:11:01.50 suddenly from an aneurysm in his brain, 00:11:01.51\00:11:05.35 I thought he was gone. That same month 00:11:07.39\00:11:11.42 I found that, they found a growth on my 00:11:11.43\00:11:13.38 throat and the doctor said, then he said, 00:11:13.39\00:11:14.99 well Mr. Halvorsen this is very dangerous, 00:11:15.52\00:11:20.02 this is, you may not be able to speak after this, 00:11:20.03\00:11:23.49 I said not speak? I said what do you 00:11:23.50\00:11:26.99 do to a preacher that can't speak, 00:11:27.00\00:11:28.40 it's like a horse break your leg you shoot him, 00:11:28.41\00:11:30.26 I mean that's all I do is speak. 00:11:31.00\00:11:33.24 I'm still speaking, amen, but the tragedy 00:11:36.61\00:11:39.53 came, a month later I was diagnosed 00:11:39.54\00:11:43.59 with Colon cancer and only by a miracle 00:11:45.09\00:11:47.99 of God I am here today preaching 00:11:48.00\00:11:49.31 because it was the worst kind in the 00:11:49.32\00:11:52.76 worst place I was awaken in the middle 00:11:52.77\00:11:55.39 of the night and a voice came an 00:11:55.40\00:11:57.80 impression came and said get a 00:11:58.28\00:11:59.77 colonoscopy, can you imagine that in the 00:11:59.78\00:12:01.59 middle of the night, I thought I was in 00:12:01.60\00:12:03.37 digestion, I rolled over, went back to 00:12:03.38\00:12:06.94 sleep, two nights later the same thing happen 00:12:06.95\00:12:09.40 I called my doctor and I said I need a 00:12:09.41\00:12:10.73 colonoscopy, he said why do you have this 00:12:10.74\00:12:12.92 symptom? You have this, I didn't have any 00:12:12.93\00:12:14.58 symptom, in fact I told my wife and said 00:12:14.59\00:12:16.52 honey, I'm jumping fences. I said honey they say 00:12:16.53\00:12:19.99 when you really feel great you're gonna die, 00:12:20.00\00:12:23.12 I said if that's the case I should be dropping 00:12:23.13\00:12:25.05 dead I mean I feel good I said no he said 00:12:25.06\00:12:29.20 but why I said because God told me, 00:12:29.21\00:12:31.26 he said would you have another reason 00:12:31.67\00:12:32.78 I said not a better reason, 00:12:32.79\00:12:34.19 and so they did a colonoscopy they 00:12:37.61\00:12:38.77 found an aggressive cancer way up on the 00:12:38.78\00:12:40.46 right side and he said to me he said 00:12:40.47\00:12:43.42 Mr. Halvorsen 99 percent of people that 00:12:43.43\00:12:45.82 get their cancer there by the time they get 00:12:45.83\00:12:48.31 the symptoms it's too late it's broken 00:12:48.32\00:12:50.16 through the wall, it's out into their body. 00:12:50.17\00:12:52.19 I went to the, what is it, this person that 00:12:53.24\00:12:56.01 does the radiation and chemo, 00:12:56.02\00:12:57.62 what are they called? 00:12:57.63\00:12:58.60 You've got the point, anyway. 00:13:00.51\00:13:01.76 He examined me, he looked at the test, 00:13:06.46\00:13:08.94 he looked at the operation and he 00:13:08.95\00:13:11.52 came back he said Mr. Halvorsen, you're 00:13:11.53\00:13:13.09 a lucky man I said no, not a lucky man he 00:13:13.10\00:13:15.76 said 99 percent of people that get cancer 00:13:15.77\00:13:19.33 in this place and die, he said but you don't 00:13:19.34\00:13:23.68 even need chemo or radiation, 00:13:23.69\00:13:26.42 come on, thank God. I mean but the amazing 00:13:27.35\00:13:30.69 thing about it, here's the amazing thing 00:13:30.70\00:13:32.15 about it the doctor that questioned 00:13:32.16\00:13:34.57 whether I should have a colonoscopy or not 00:13:35.20\00:13:36.88 was an Adventist doctor, my other 00:13:38.02\00:13:40.39 doctor said oh I believe in miracles, 00:13:40.40\00:13:43.15 listen to me there is a miraculous God, 00:13:43.16\00:13:45.75 doesn't matter what you know about surgery, 00:13:45.76\00:13:47.64 doesn't matter what you know about 00:13:47.65\00:13:49.15 medicine, God is the great physician. 00:13:49.16\00:13:51.55 Amen. Just poured out on me and my 00:13:52.00\00:13:54.57 family, let me tell you bad things happen to 00:13:54.58\00:13:58.43 good people, devastating things 00:13:58.44\00:14:01.85 happen in an instant to people, but God 00:14:01.86\00:14:05.37 has an answer and there's a resounding 00:14:05.53\00:14:07.63 yes that life can be beautiful. 00:14:07.64\00:14:11.92 When stars fall from heaven, 00:14:13.30\00:14:14.63 when mountains fall into the sea, when evil 00:14:15.29\00:14:17.69 triumphs over good, when Satan seems to 00:14:17.70\00:14:19.74 have the upper hand, when death still stings 00:14:19.75\00:14:22.13 and tears still flow, there is one splendid, 00:14:22.14\00:14:24.84 one shining, one glorious hope and that 00:14:25.05\00:14:27.70 hope is a person of the Lord Jesus Christ, 00:14:27.71\00:14:30.29 can you say amen here? The person of Jesus Christ, 00:14:30.64\00:14:33.93 He is our glorious hope, but still there 00:14:34.14\00:14:38.59 are the hunting questions, by the way 00:14:38.60\00:14:40.11 that are not only your problem. Listen to me 00:14:40.12\00:14:42.23 the prophets of old asked the same questions. 00:14:42.40\00:14:45.47 A prophet looked to heaven, beating 00:14:46.61\00:14:48.35 heaven with his prayers he said, God, 00:14:48.36\00:14:50.29 why are you silent? One prophet looking 00:14:50.56\00:14:54.59 out over the city and there were the, 00:14:54.60\00:14:56.13 the enemy coming into his city he knew 00:14:56.45\00:14:58.22 that they would rape his women and they 00:14:58.23\00:15:00.48 would take his people into captivity he said 00:15:00.49\00:15:03.13 God why don't you do something? 00:15:03.14\00:15:05.42 And then back it out of that experience, 00:15:08.43\00:15:10.11 out of that pain, out of that captivity, 00:15:10.36\00:15:12.45 he was able to say that just shall live by 00:15:12.74\00:15:15.64 his and her faith, but still it hurts 00:15:15.98\00:15:21.27 and still is God holding out on us. 00:15:23.05\00:15:28.87 Christ you know has been trying to answer 00:15:31.12\00:15:32.65 this question and nail it down since 00:15:32.66\00:15:35.65 the dawn of time. Goodness, now we all 00:15:36.10\00:15:40.89 know the world is good, I mean there is 00:15:40.90\00:15:42.65 goodness in this world I mean, 00:15:42.66\00:15:44.37 after each act of creation He states this 00:15:46.75\00:15:49.25 and it was good and it was good and it was 00:15:49.48\00:15:52.63 very good look around you nature 00:15:52.64\00:15:55.05 proclaims it. Some weeks ago 00:15:55.06\00:15:59.55 I was having a revival meeting in Georgia 00:15:59.56\00:16:03.35 and, on the way to the church, on the way to 00:16:03.36\00:16:05.56 the hospital I was having devotions in 00:16:05.57\00:16:07.79 the morning at the hospital and then 00:16:07.80\00:16:09.27 revival at the church in evening on the way 00:16:09.55\00:16:11.72 to hospital I saw a flock of, I guess there 00:16:11.73\00:16:15.50 are flock I don't know I'm from Brooklyn, 00:16:15.51\00:16:16.99 but a flock of turkeys, do they call them a flock. 00:16:17.00\00:16:19.60 Okay that's close enough, they were 00:16:20.53\00:16:23.21 flocked around anyway, beautiful and 00:16:23.22\00:16:28.51 that afternoon one of the doctors took me 00:16:28.52\00:16:31.01 out to play golf, I only play golf for 00:16:31.02\00:16:32.79 my exercise you know it's good I walk 00:16:32.80\00:16:34.95 in the woods a lot and I noticed a beautiful 00:16:34.96\00:16:39.53 dove making her way quietly through the woods. 00:16:39.54\00:16:46.83 I look out in the faces wherever I preach and 00:16:48.10\00:16:50.22 I say beautiful people and beautiful faces, 00:16:50.23\00:16:54.02 I see the faces of little children like say God 00:16:54.60\00:16:57.49 this world is good, I mean everywhere we 00:16:57.80\00:17:00.33 can see, everywhere we can see this 00:17:00.34\00:17:02.46 goodness, this is the goodness of God, 00:17:02.47\00:17:04.62 we see it everywhere, kindness and love and 00:17:04.91\00:17:08.53 we see acts of caring and acts of love, 00:17:08.72\00:17:10.69 even outside there, outside of the church 00:17:10.97\00:17:13.59 and sometimes we see it even 00:17:13.60\00:17:14.95 more outside then we do inside. 00:17:14.96\00:17:16.77 But I'm not diluted about goodness, 00:17:19.28\00:17:21.42 not to recognize there's evil in our world, 00:17:22.62\00:17:24.84 there is human evil. People go homeless, 00:17:26.16\00:17:28.50 not for lack of resources but for lack 00:17:28.75\00:17:30.99 of love, I mean food is abundant and yet 00:17:31.00\00:17:33.65 people starve to death in our world, 00:17:33.66\00:17:35.73 all this is good things are perverted, that has 00:17:35.99\00:17:38.53 been the underlying truth from this book 00:17:38.54\00:17:40.70 from the very beginning at the fall 00:17:40.96\00:17:42.52 of man, a lie walks the truth, gluttony 00:17:42.53\00:17:46.26 abuses food and drink and a parasite evil 00:17:46.27\00:17:49.16 must feed off good, and has no ability to 00:17:49.46\00:17:53.34 create anything new. Thinking about poor 00:17:53.35\00:17:57.64 Chippy, there are some things that we 00:17:57.65\00:18:00.53 left undone. The movie Grand Canyon 00:18:00.54\00:18:03.99 articulates the theological fact and 00:18:04.85\00:18:06.95 truth, a spiritual truth, Danny Glover playing 00:18:06.96\00:18:11.98 a tow truck driver, who is threatened by 00:18:11.99\00:18:15.73 five troublemakers as he attempts to rescue 00:18:15.74\00:18:18.57 a terrified family, a motorist who had 00:18:18.58\00:18:21.21 broken down on a highway and seeing 00:18:21.22\00:18:24.92 these five ruffians trying to cause 00:18:24.93\00:18:27.56 trouble, he says man the world ain't 00:18:27.57\00:18:30.02 suppose to work like this and they keep it 00:18:30.03\00:18:35.49 up and he says it again, he says man 00:18:35.50\00:18:37.59 the world ain't suppose to work like, 00:18:37.98\00:18:39.75 and we look around and we say God, 00:18:39.99\00:18:42.18 the world ain't supposed to work like this. 00:18:42.37\00:18:45.01 Whatever we humans touch can go wrong. 00:18:48.11\00:18:52.77 In more optimistic times Christians had 00:18:54.45\00:18:57.37 to struggle to make the case for the fallen 00:18:57.38\00:18:59.62 world, we don't have to do that today do we? 00:18:59.63\00:19:01.73 I mean look around you turn on CNN, 00:19:02.48\00:19:04.43 I mean open your newspaper I mean 00:19:04.60\00:19:06.45 it jumps out at you, it pours out at you 00:19:06.63\00:19:08.55 from every page tragedy or comedy 00:19:08.56\00:19:11.69 can happen in a split moment of time. 00:19:12.15\00:19:13.94 Whatever we touch, you see what the tow 00:19:16.29\00:19:19.99 driver, tow truck driver absorbed we 00:19:20.00\00:19:24.48 know to be a fact, man the world ain't 00:19:24.49\00:19:27.75 suppose to be like this. 00:19:27.76\00:19:31.26 If indeed a good God created a good world, 00:19:32.90\00:19:35.03 something has gone rye. Now the problem 00:19:35.04\00:19:39.64 goes right back to the beginning, 00:19:39.65\00:19:40.79 I want to talk to you about this why? 00:19:40.80\00:19:43.43 A good God in a bad world? Why human suffering? 00:19:43.95\00:19:46.72 How does Jesus become the helper? 00:19:47.17\00:19:49.31 You see the problem goes right back to one 00:19:50.69\00:19:54.28 bad choice and then another bad choice 00:19:54.29\00:19:58.23 and then another bad choice. 00:19:59.14\00:20:01.05 You see the day started optimistically, 00:20:01.80\00:20:06.47 the day ended badly, her name is Eve, 00:20:07.81\00:20:12.96 one choice led to another crazy thing 00:20:14.09\00:20:18.48 about it, they tried for years to help fix it and 00:20:18.49\00:20:21.47 it keeps getting worse. 00:20:21.48\00:20:23.14 When everything breaks down in a 00:20:27.81\00:20:28.78 house my wife don't ask me to fix it, 00:20:28.79\00:20:30.55 I'm terrible at it believe me, 00:20:32.22\00:20:34.27 took me a whole week to fix the irrigation 00:20:35.46\00:20:39.35 in my backyard and I put all the pipes 00:20:41.20\00:20:44.15 together and put the glue around and 00:20:44.16\00:20:46.97 well it looks beautiful flipped the switch 00:20:47.36\00:20:50.88 when the water came through with power, 00:20:50.89\00:20:52.51 boom it throw everything all over the yard, 00:20:53.09\00:20:55.05 she don't ask me to fix anything. 00:20:57.43\00:20:58.77 I mean, we try to fix it keeps breaking down 00:21:02.31\00:21:08.19 the car gets to a certain age right, 00:21:09.49\00:21:11.06 come on now no matter what you do to it, 00:21:11.07\00:21:13.27 it keeps breaking down. 00:21:13.28\00:21:14.46 Humanity keeps breaking technology 00:21:16.52\00:21:18.75 repeats that cycle doesn't it. 00:21:18.76\00:21:20.38 I mean we master the Adam and we nearly 00:21:20.75\00:21:23.04 obliterate a universe, we learned the secrets 00:21:23.05\00:21:28.52 of life only to develop techniques to destroy 00:21:28.53\00:21:31.12 the unborn and the aging. 00:21:31.31\00:21:33.36 We unlocked the genetic code and we 00:21:35.16\00:21:36.72 opened Pandora's box of ethics, we tamed 00:21:36.73\00:21:40.11 the great plains and with agriculture and 00:21:40.12\00:21:42.47 cause a dust bowl, we try to fix the 00:21:42.48\00:21:44.70 environment and harvest the rainforest 00:21:44.71\00:21:47.21 and create floods and harness internal 00:21:47.22\00:21:49.46 combustion engines and we melt the ice cap. 00:21:49.47\00:21:52.50 We link our world to the Internet only to 00:21:56.36\00:22:00.05 find the most devastating thing is 00:22:00.06\00:22:02.21 the thing that's most downloaded on the 00:22:02.22\00:22:04.32 Internet today is pornography. 00:22:04.33\00:22:06.25 Every advance introduces us to 00:22:08.59\00:22:10.21 another fall, every attempt to clean the 00:22:10.22\00:22:12.90 bird cage we get deeper and we get the 00:22:12.91\00:22:15.51 bird deeper and deeper into trouble, why? 00:22:15.52\00:22:18.32 Because the good God did not create robots, 00:22:18.33\00:22:21.40 but humans with free will. 00:22:23.29\00:22:26.56 When I was a little boy many years ago, 00:22:29.52\00:22:32.11 many many many years ago I used to 00:22:32.12\00:22:34.79 like to play toy soldiers, my mom 00:22:34.80\00:22:38.24 would get me those plastic toy soldiers 00:22:38.25\00:22:39.97 and I like to play them, I set them up in the 00:22:39.98\00:22:42.90 living room and hide them behind the 00:22:42.91\00:22:44.49 piddles on the couch and put them in 00:22:44.50\00:22:46.30 strategic places there were the enemy, 00:22:46.59\00:22:48.71 you could always tell them, and they were 00:22:48.72\00:22:51.07 the good soldiers, my soldiers, 00:22:51.08\00:22:53.29 and they'd fight the war every now and 00:22:54.45\00:22:55.84 then and knock over a good soldier but we'll 00:22:55.85\00:22:57.80 knock over three bad soldiers finally I got 00:22:57.81\00:23:00.33 tied of that and knock them all over, we won. 00:23:00.34\00:23:03.35 I noticed that as only I control the 00:23:05.42\00:23:07.43 the soldiers, we won, but what if those 00:23:07.44\00:23:12.36 soldiers could come alive, 00:23:12.37\00:23:13.86 become bigger than I. It would no longer be 00:23:17.78\00:23:21.25 a fun game would it. I mean you're the 00:23:21.26\00:23:26.54 biggest so therefore you make them obey 00:23:26.55\00:23:28.31 and that happens even in your own personal life, 00:23:28.58\00:23:30.39 even with your own children, 00:23:30.40\00:23:31.69 as long as they're little they obey you, 00:23:31.70\00:23:33.62 they get up on Sabbath, they get 00:23:33.63\00:23:35.13 dressed on Sabbath, they go to, they brush 00:23:35.14\00:23:36.95 their teeth, they go to church, they come 00:23:36.96\00:23:38.38 home but when they get big, 00:23:38.39\00:23:40.34 if I were to take a survey here tonight 00:23:42.46\00:23:44.11 perhaps the most shocking thing would 00:23:45.65\00:23:46.91 be how many of our big children 00:23:46.92\00:23:49.06 are brushing their teeth to go to church 00:23:50.22\00:23:53.28 and to worship God and to carry this 00:23:54.52\00:23:57.71 kingdom, this gospel of the kingdom to the 00:23:57.72\00:24:02.63 world perishing. I mean, we even 00:24:02.64\00:24:08.27 act like as cold control freaks even in 00:24:08.28\00:24:10.69 our own church, and so therefore we set 00:24:10.70\00:24:14.48 our rules and we set our standards and we 00:24:14.49\00:24:16.37 write the law and we tell out the benefits of 00:24:16.62\00:24:19.69 it and we tell how that we need to do it 00:24:19.70\00:24:21.66 and then it get longer and longer and longer 00:24:22.15\00:24:25.19 and the kids just getting blown away, 00:24:25.62\00:24:27.50 they can't ever live up to it, 00:24:27.51\00:24:30.07 by the way I can't live up to it. 00:24:31.60\00:24:33.47 God made us in such a way that we could choose. 00:24:41.13\00:24:45.82 And I believe there are three kinds of will, 00:24:49.28\00:24:50.85 people say we need to be in God's will let's 00:24:53.46\00:24:55.16 look at it tonight there was the intentional 00:24:55.17\00:24:58.94 will of God, if we're gonna understand 00:24:58.95\00:25:01.04 why we suffer hurt even good people. 00:25:02.69\00:25:06.58 There is the intentional will of God, there is a 00:25:08.05\00:25:10.17 circumstantial will of God and there is what 00:25:10.18\00:25:12.72 I call The Ultimate Will of God. 00:25:12.73\00:25:14.64 God's intentional will, if we read the first 00:25:16.87\00:25:20.46 two chapters of the Bible we discover that 00:25:20.47\00:25:24.37 the intentional will of God what it was about 00:25:24.38\00:25:26.38 first of all you would have life abundantly, 00:25:26.71\00:25:29.28 it was to be joyous, I mean life abundantly 00:25:29.75\00:25:32.79 productive, your life forever, forever life. 00:25:32.80\00:25:37.25 In fact on that Friday God created sexuality, 00:25:39.00\00:25:41.66 so that you could create the family and 00:25:41.67\00:25:43.55 the family could create the family and 00:25:43.56\00:25:45.39 the family could create the family 00:25:45.40\00:25:47.31 and they would be one family. 00:25:47.32\00:25:49.00 And the next day he creates a Sabbath, 00:25:51.90\00:25:53.63 the worship and that's why the Seventh-day 00:25:54.01\00:25:56.42 was so meaningful because God wanted 00:25:56.43\00:25:58.48 us to bring that to the nations and God 00:25:58.49\00:26:01.66 wanted that to be apart of our existence and. 00:26:01.67\00:26:04.88 And God did everything with an intention, 00:26:07.16\00:26:09.31 everything he creates is in order, everything 00:26:10.13\00:26:12.52 he creates with intention. You see he doesn't create, 00:26:12.53\00:26:15.26 he doesn't create birds and try to create a sky 00:26:15.61\00:26:18.24 to put them in, he creates the sky and 00:26:18.25\00:26:20.36 then the birds, he doesn't create fish and 00:26:20.37\00:26:22.68 run around looking for water, 00:26:22.69\00:26:24.50 he creates the water, then the fish, 00:26:24.65\00:26:26.28 everything is done in order. 00:26:26.58\00:26:27.74 He comes to the worship day, he 00:26:28.02\00:26:29.55 doesn't create the worship day on the first day, 00:26:29.56\00:26:31.60 he creates it on the Seventh day why? 00:26:31.89\00:26:33.53 Because on the sixth day he creates the worshiper. 00:26:33.84\00:26:36.49 He intended it that way and it was good. 00:26:41.64\00:26:45.82 Read Genesis chapter 1, it's good, it's good 00:26:47.40\00:26:50.38 I mean there is no hunger, it's good, 00:26:50.55\00:26:53.06 there is no hatred, its good, there is no pain, 00:26:53.07\00:26:56.23 there is no suffering, there is no sickness, 00:26:56.24\00:26:57.73 there is no crime, I mean there is no 00:26:57.74\00:26:59.35 violence, there is no anger in the home. 00:26:59.36\00:27:01.91 There is no two people fighting and 00:27:08.84\00:27:10.25 warning until the inevitable is a divorce. 00:27:10.26\00:27:13.78 They are never separated in that 00:27:15.67\00:27:18.31 garden, until the day they chose to be 00:27:18.32\00:27:21.20 separated, its called free will. 00:27:21.21\00:27:24.44 When my boy was growing up Ronnie he 00:27:26.02\00:27:27.88 was just a little boy. I have two children 00:27:27.89\00:27:30.91 I have Ronnie and I have Dianne, 00:27:30.92\00:27:32.17 Ronnie is the oldest, when Ronnie was just 00:27:33.65\00:27:36.94 little and Dianne was just in the crib, 00:27:36.95\00:27:39.26 my wife would some times take Dianne and 00:27:40.88\00:27:42.87 have to go to store she would take Dianne 00:27:43.68\00:27:45.33 and she leave Ronnie for me to watch. 00:27:45.34\00:27:47.20 And I had a sandbox in the front of our yard, 00:27:49.00\00:27:52.91 we lived on a Cul-de-sac and there was a 00:27:52.92\00:27:55.04 little sandbox and so I got a brainy idea that 00:27:55.05\00:27:58.65 perhaps I could let him play in that 00:27:59.02\00:28:00.55 sandbox while I was studied. 00:28:00.72\00:28:02.16 You understand who has the brains in my 00:28:04.72\00:28:06.30 family, my wife didn't think it was a good 00:28:06.31\00:28:09.61 idea but she was gone, so I thought 00:28:09.62\00:28:11.36 wow I can experiment and so I put enough 00:28:11.37\00:28:16.78 toys and things to play with in the 00:28:16.79\00:28:19.44 sandbox, put Ronnie in the midst of it, 00:28:19.45\00:28:22.49 said son play in the sandbox don't go near 00:28:22.50\00:28:25.66 the road and I gave him a look, you know 00:28:25.67\00:28:30.80 the parental look, when in the house and 00:28:30.81\00:28:34.52 down the stairs and I was studying, 00:28:34.81\00:28:36.21 thinking about Ronnie, a chip off the 00:28:36.52\00:28:38.00 old block, ran up the stairs looked out the 00:28:38.01\00:28:43.04 picture window and there Ronnie was 00:28:43.05\00:28:44.46 standing by the road 00:28:44.79\00:28:45.96 throwing pebbles in the road. 00:28:45.97\00:28:47.51 I open the door and I said Ronnie he heard 00:28:50.68\00:28:52.73 my voice, he ran right back to the sandbox, 00:28:52.74\00:28:56.96 I said young man, don't you go near 00:28:59.43\00:29:03.12 that road, why? Was I trying to keep 00:29:03.13\00:29:05.65 something him, no I was trying to protect him. 00:29:05.66\00:29:07.97 I said I love you I want to protect you, 00:29:09.79\00:29:11.44 there's danger don't go near the road or else 00:29:11.45\00:29:13.80 you're gonna have to come into the house, 00:29:13.81\00:29:14.78 no more do you leave this sandbox. 00:29:15.33\00:29:19.32 Gave him that look, when I was studying 00:29:21.91\00:29:25.34 five minutes later I thought about 00:29:27.15\00:29:29.85 Ronnie and the road, I ran upstairs and 00:29:29.86\00:29:35.81 looked out the window and there 00:29:36.88\00:29:37.86 Ronnie was standing with two feet in the 00:29:37.87\00:29:40.43 road throwing pebbles, I open the 00:29:40.44\00:29:45.26 door I said Ronnie come here and he 00:29:45.27\00:29:47.52 grabbed you know and he started backing. 00:29:47.53\00:29:51.74 Yeah that's right, we used it, 00:29:54.14\00:29:57.25 this time out stuff, give me a break. 00:29:58.91\00:30:01.07 Time out, yeah only one who takes the 00:30:03.09\00:30:06.22 time out is you to keep the time. 00:30:06.23\00:30:08.43 Now I could have solved the problem 00:30:11.05\00:30:12.32 of the road, I could have, people you see 00:30:12.33\00:30:13.95 they come to me and they talk to me and 00:30:14.66\00:30:16.47 they say well God, he could have solved this problem. 00:30:16.48\00:30:18.46 He was a big God, He could have control 00:30:18.47\00:30:20.54 the situation, that's right I couldn't control 00:30:20.55\00:30:22.44 the situation. I could have taken Ronnie 00:30:22.45\00:30:24.50 and thrown him in the closet and locked the door. 00:30:24.51\00:30:27.01 I'll solve the problem. Well I'll be a good 00:30:29.82\00:30:32.91 father and kind of cut a hole in the door and 00:30:32.92\00:30:35.56 so I could feed him every now and then, 00:30:36.00\00:30:37.38 but you know I've solved, 00:30:37.39\00:30:38.55 wouldn't it solve the problem. 00:30:38.56\00:30:40.06 But love doesn't work that way, 00:30:45.87\00:30:47.30 love doesn't work that way. 00:30:49.02\00:30:50.30 You see I could put hold him in my arms 00:30:51.98\00:30:53.46 and tell him Ronnie, I love you so much, 00:30:53.47\00:30:55.10 there is danger in the road and I could do 00:30:55.11\00:30:57.09 everything that I could to show him 00:30:57.10\00:30:58.81 that love. To try to show him what the 00:30:58.82\00:31:00.96 danger was. But some day I would have to leave him. 00:31:00.97\00:31:04.80 And now my children are on many 00:31:08.58\00:31:09.55 dangerous roads, yours are too aren't they? 00:31:09.56\00:31:11.80 This very moment we pray for them and 00:31:11.81\00:31:13.70 think about them. You see that's what it 00:31:13.71\00:31:17.00 was, it began with the intentional will of God, 00:31:17.01\00:31:19.71 if you don't believe that. Will you turn with me 00:31:19.72\00:31:21.52 to Genesis the third chapter. 00:31:21.53\00:31:24.10 And I want you to notice here, Genesis chapter 3, 00:31:25.40\00:31:28.91 and let's look at verses 1 through 4, 00:31:31.09\00:31:34.64 that's Genesis chapter 3 verses 1 through 4. 00:31:35.95\00:31:44.40 The Bible says this, And now the serpent 00:31:46.03\00:31:48.63 was more stubble or cunning then any 00:31:48.64\00:31:51.07 beast of the field the LORD God had made. 00:31:51.08\00:31:53.86 And he said unto the woman, has God 00:31:54.89\00:31:56.12 indeed said, ye shall not eat of every tree 00:31:56.88\00:31:58.89 of the garden? And the woman said 00:31:58.90\00:32:00.18 to the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of 00:32:00.19\00:32:02.11 the trees of the garden: But of the fruit of the 00:32:02.12\00:32:03.83 tree which is in the midst of the garden, 00:32:03.84\00:32:05.23 God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, 00:32:05.24\00:32:07.26 neither shall ye touch it, lest ye what? Die. 00:32:07.27\00:32:11.07 Now notice this, then the serpent said, 00:32:11.85\00:32:13.54 you will not surely die and next verse your 00:32:15.07\00:32:18.57 eyes will be open and you will be like God. 00:32:18.58\00:32:23.16 Look at verse 31 and they heard verse 8, 00:32:23.33\00:32:27.41 And they heard the sound of the LORD 00:32:27.42\00:32:29.01 God walking in the garden, in the cool of 00:32:29.02\00:32:30.72 the day, and the Adam and his wife 00:32:30.73\00:32:32.51 hid themselves from the presence of the 00:32:32.52\00:32:34.86 LORD God among the trees of the garden. 00:32:34.87\00:32:36.65 And then the Lord God called to Adam 00:32:37.44\00:32:38.94 and said to him where are you? 00:32:38.95\00:32:42.14 Where are you? Good, the intention of 00:32:43.99\00:32:50.16 God was for goodness, perfect family. 00:32:50.17\00:32:53.59 Every parent that ever creates a child, 00:32:54.98\00:32:57.05 has the best dreams and hopes for that 00:32:57.06\00:32:58.67 child to come on right. Amen. 00:32:58.68\00:33:00.84 I've never met a person yet, a parent yet, 00:33:02.99\00:33:05.06 that said in that moment that kid was born, 00:33:06.08\00:33:08.13 I was hoping bad things would happen to him. 00:33:08.14\00:33:10.22 So, the heavens declared the glory of 00:33:13.57\00:33:15.11 God and the earth He created with living 00:33:15.12\00:33:18.15 things, so that man would 00:33:18.16\00:33:20.61 enjoy the food of his hands. 00:33:20.62\00:33:22.33 And man has created in the image of God. 00:33:23.31\00:33:24.86 His plan is an everlasting happiness, 00:33:26.45\00:33:28.24 His plan is everlasting life, it's full of life and 00:33:28.25\00:33:30.54 joy and that is the intention of God. 00:33:30.55\00:33:32.91 That's intentional will and every parent has 00:33:32.92\00:33:35.71 that intention, but a problem arises. 00:33:35.72\00:33:38.74 Not in the heart of the parent, 00:33:39.47\00:33:40.92 but in the heart of the children. 00:33:42.76\00:33:43.90 I always tell parents that lost their children 00:33:46.77\00:33:48.47 to the world for a time, that God made a 00:33:49.06\00:33:51.76 round world and by the way its simple, 00:33:51.77\00:33:55.04 scientific, spiritual lesson. 00:33:55.05\00:33:57.49 Why did he create a round world, because 00:33:58.33\00:34:00.80 the further you go away from home, 00:34:00.81\00:34:02.39 the closer you will comeback to home? 00:34:05.48\00:34:07.48 Freewill choices, now comes a twist 00:34:10.76\00:34:16.04 intrusion it's a paradise. Intrusion, I mean a 00:34:16.05\00:34:19.00 covenant is broken, sin enters the world 00:34:19.01\00:34:21.60 from Genesis 3 to Revelation chapter 21. 00:34:21.61\00:34:24.11 I mean in 22 the world is taken by sin, 00:34:24.49\00:34:26.63 pain comes to the world, suffering 00:34:26.93\00:34:28.82 comes to the world, death comes to the world. 00:34:28.83\00:34:30.90 Romans 5:12 notice what it says Romans 00:34:31.22\00:34:34.16 the fifth chapter and verse 12, it tell us 00:34:34.17\00:34:36.61 why this is, he gives us an 00:34:36.77\00:34:38.99 explanation of simple truth. 00:34:39.00\00:34:40.72 He says here in the fifth chapter and verse 00:34:41.02\00:34:43.13 12 these words, Therefore, just as 00:34:43.14\00:34:45.43 through one man sin entered into the world, 00:34:45.44\00:34:47.07 and death through sin, and thus death spread 00:34:47.44\00:34:49.86 to all men, because all have sinned. 00:34:49.87\00:34:53.07 You said why did Eve do that, 00:34:53.08\00:34:54.61 if you were Eve, you would have. 00:34:54.78\00:34:56.56 If you were Adam, you are the Adam of this generation; 00:34:59.85\00:35:02.64 you are the Eve of this generation, 00:35:02.86\00:35:04.45 what are you doing? 00:35:04.66\00:35:05.63 I hope you're not like the woman who came 00:35:09.48\00:35:10.45 and saw me recently at a camp meeting 00:35:10.50\00:35:12.31 and she says pastor in a virtuous way 00:35:12.50\00:35:14.58 I haven't sinned in six months. 00:35:14.81\00:35:16.66 I said, oh you just did, the Bible says if you say 00:35:17.62\00:35:20.33 you have not sinned you're a liar and the truth 00:35:20.52\00:35:22.25 is not in you excuse me and I took off. 00:35:22.46\00:35:25.24 You see the intentional will of God is soft, 00:35:32.83\00:35:35.36 the intentional will of God is, is affected 00:35:35.56\00:35:37.50 by man's sin and so, there comes 00:35:37.69\00:35:39.47 the circumstantial will since the fall, 00:35:39.67\00:35:41.81 the rules have changed. 00:35:42.03\00:35:44.33 Evil conditions exist just because evil exists. 00:35:44.55\00:35:47.29 God must salvage good out of the evil. 00:35:47.49\00:35:49.76 You see did God will that Moses and Daniel 00:35:49.97\00:35:52.08 and Jeremiah and Paul moulder in prison? 00:35:52.28\00:35:54.49 No, but he took that experience and he used it 00:35:54.68\00:35:57.28 to the glory of God and the building of the kingdom 00:35:57.48\00:35:59.55 of Christ and the deliverance of God's people. Amen. 00:35:59.74\00:36:02.61 Despite of evil circumstances 00:36:04.20\00:36:05.99 they triumphed over the circumstance. 00:36:06.20\00:36:07.98 Joseph triumph, Daniel experience 00:36:08.18\00:36:10.65 supernatural deliverance, Paul formulated 00:36:10.88\00:36:13.32 much of his theology while in prison. 00:36:13.53\00:36:15.25 We created this world, we molded it 00:36:19.81\00:36:21.74 and now we're being molded by it, 00:36:21.96\00:36:24.30 that's why Jesus says to the Apostle. 00:36:24.50\00:36:26.02 He says hate not this world. 00:36:26.24\00:36:28.18 God is trying to work good 00:36:34.83\00:36:36.05 out of evil that's what going on now. 00:36:36.24\00:36:38.49 He touches the ruin life and he heals it. Amen, amen. 00:36:38.71\00:36:43.82 He touches the waste of life and he restores it. Amen. 00:36:44.03\00:36:46.95 He comes to a lost person, a lonely person 00:36:47.59\00:36:49.85 and He brings fulfillment, He renews it. 00:36:50.05\00:36:52.61 I mean this is God working the circumstance. 00:36:52.82\00:36:55.21 He is working through the circumstances; 00:36:55.41\00:36:56.84 He is touching the ruin life to heal it, 00:36:57.06\00:36:59.08 the wasted life to renew it. 00:36:59.27\00:37:00.79 He comes and makes a difference, 00:37:00.99\00:37:02.27 that's why the incarnation, 00:37:02.48\00:37:04.10 that's why Jesus came into this world, 00:37:04.31\00:37:06.08 incarnated so He might touch us and love us 00:37:06.28\00:37:08.86 and in the circumstances that we are surrounded 00:37:09.06\00:37:11.72 with that He might say all things are possible 00:37:11.92\00:37:14.38 to those who believe. Amen. 00:37:14.58\00:37:17.40 That's why God impacted us and was touched 00:37:21.51\00:37:25.22 with the feelings of our infirmities. 00:37:25.42\00:37:27.00 Try to change it into good. 00:37:29.79\00:37:31.60 And that leads us to the ultimate will. 00:37:34.87\00:37:36.59 Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. 00:37:39.20\00:37:47.17 Now God promises to those who trust Him 00:37:48.56\00:37:51.21 to use every circumstance to serve Him 00:37:51.43\00:37:53.51 that the ultimate will, will be done, 00:37:53.72\00:37:56.19 that He will get us through the circumstance, 00:37:56.40\00:37:58.47 He will get us through this planet and rebellion, 00:37:58.68\00:38:01.42 He will redeem us from this corruptible 00:38:01.62\00:38:03.47 and He will give us incorruption, 00:38:03.69\00:38:05.49 He will redeem us from this mortal, 00:38:05.69\00:38:07.44 this dying and give us immortality, 00:38:07.63\00:38:09.75 He will redeem us for the corruptional world 00:38:09.95\00:38:12.12 and give us a new world. 00:38:12.32\00:38:13.54 There is nothing better than 00:38:16.32\00:38:17.39 something new come on. He had a needle in his arm, 00:43:34.93\00:43:37.15 an 8-year-old boy, his friend; his brother turned 00:43:37.37\00:43:45.57 him on the drugs and turned him off the life, 00:43:45.75\00:43:47.41 he died in my arms. Satan is the instigator. 00:43:47.61\00:43:54.23 He causes tragedy so that, that tragedy, 00:43:54.66\00:43:57.94 that people will blame God they point their fingers 00:43:58.12\00:44:00.88 at God when in reality they should point it at Satan, 00:44:01.06\00:44:03.34 Satan has done this to us. 00:44:03.52\00:44:05.38 Job had to learn that truth, 00:44:07.83\00:44:09.34 and you and I will have to learn that truth, 00:44:11.28\00:44:13.40 and so when it comes on here which it will, 00:44:15.05\00:44:17.95 when it ruins your day, remember who's behind it. 00:44:19.65\00:44:25.33 He is the instigator of evil. 00:44:26.90\00:44:28.60 Secondly, innocent people suffer for the violation 00:44:30.22\00:44:36.38 of others against the law of God. 00:44:36.61\00:44:38.05 Do you hear me? 00:44:38.68\00:44:39.77 Adolf Eichmann's mother created a baby, 00:44:42.83\00:44:45.07 an innocent child, he became 00:44:45.90\00:44:47.75 Adolf Eichmann the murderer. 00:44:47.95\00:44:49.72 He repudiated God's law, he took a, 00:44:53.39\00:44:56.28 made a choice somewhere along in his life 00:44:56.52\00:44:58.80 and he created the hate, the malice, 00:44:59.03\00:45:02.08 the violence and the death of over a million Jews, 00:45:02.31\00:45:06.72 but he was created an innocent child. 00:45:08.25\00:45:10.58 Thirdly, God sometimes uses suffering to 00:45:13.04\00:45:17.14 soften and perfect our character. 00:45:17.15\00:45:19.44 He maketh me to lie down then I'm looking up. 00:45:20.47\00:45:26.37 There are some things in my life, the suffering 00:45:28.30\00:45:33.05 and pain in my life that drew me closer to God, 00:45:33.26\00:45:37.42 so God was my Balm in Gilead. 00:45:38.55\00:45:41.04 God was the inoculation, 00:45:42.52\00:45:44.20 His grace was the inoculation that killed the pain. 00:45:44.82\00:45:49.24 That God softens us in our pain and in our suffering. 00:45:50.79\00:45:55.17 Have you ever met anyone in your life 00:45:55.83\00:45:58.91 that because of some tragedy. 00:45:59.13\00:46:03.00 They rose to a higher place in love and serving God. 00:46:04.79\00:46:11.73 You have and you know you have. 00:46:11.96\00:46:13.70 Falsely people suffer for the violation of the law, 00:46:17.07\00:46:19.91 Galatians 6:7 tells us that, man smokes, 00:46:21.06\00:46:24.21 he drinks, he uses drugs, promiscuous, 00:46:26.73\00:46:31.38 he burns the candle at both ends, 00:46:31.62\00:46:32.91 by the way its amazing to me how Christians 00:46:33.18\00:46:34.98 are always condemning those who smoke, 00:46:35.25\00:46:37.08 drink and use drugs and eat meat or whatever, 00:46:37.33\00:46:39.95 but they work 15 hours a day. 00:46:40.19\00:46:42.92 Day in and day out and they ruin their families, 00:46:45.55\00:46:46.52 they ruin everything that's important and they think 00:46:46.53\00:46:47.73 they're perfect and the others are going to hell, 00:46:47.95\00:46:49.63 give me a break, amen. 00:46:49.84\00:46:51.78 A man smokes and they find cancer lungs, 00:46:55.55\00:46:59.55 he says oh God why did you do this to me. 00:46:59.76\00:47:01.86 God didn't have anything to do with it. 00:47:02.08\00:47:04.07 Man drinks, drugs, cirrhosis of the liver. 00:47:06.57\00:47:10.81 HIV, man burns the candle at both ends, heart attack. 00:47:13.21\00:47:20.15 God, why did you do this to me? 00:47:20.41\00:47:22.28 God had nothing to do with it, you had to do with it. 00:47:25.15\00:47:28.84 Why did you do this?
