Good morning friends. Good morning. 00:05:09.74\00:05:12.09 That was beautiful. And we sure appreciate, 00:05:12.10\00:05:15.42 there we go. Sure appreciate that 00:05:15.43\00:05:18.05 music also those inspiring mission stories. 00:05:18.06\00:05:21.36 I have the privilege of teaching you the Sabbath 00:05:21.86\00:05:24.01 school lessons this morning, 00:05:24.02\00:05:25.31 which I normally do from our home church in 00:05:25.32\00:05:27.63 Sacramento. And from Sacramento I usually greet 00:05:27.64\00:05:30.37 the rest of the world. So this morning I want 00:05:30.38\00:05:32.17 to greet Sacramento worth about 6:50 in the 00:05:32.18\00:05:34.72 morning. And so they told me to quit. 00:05:34.73\00:05:38.20 And about oh, 10:20 but I wasn't sure if that's 00:05:40.10\00:05:44.80 California time or Louisville time, 00:05:44.81\00:05:47.11 so we'll just play it by the ear and see what 00:05:47.12\00:05:48.75 happens here. But I am very thankful I can teach 00:05:48.76\00:05:52.51 this lesson with you. I think when the organizers 00:05:52.52\00:05:55.36 saw what the subject was today they may have 00:05:55.37\00:05:57.22 been little nervous because we are going 00:05:57.23\00:05:59.30 through our study guide dealing with old 00:05:59.31\00:06:02.12 testament couples for better or for worst. 00:06:02.13\00:06:04.82 And it's my happy task to talk to you about, 00:06:05.30\00:06:08.11 Samson and his women: The Folly of Passion. 00:06:08.12\00:06:11.55 And actually it is very spiritual lesson. 00:06:13.03\00:06:15.71 And I am going to see if I can highlight some of 00:06:15.72\00:06:17.54 the spiritual aspect of this. 00:06:17.55\00:06:19.39 You know someone could probably take this in a 00:06:19.96\00:06:21.57 more salacious direction but I don't want to 00:06:21.58\00:06:23.14 do that. I think that there are a lot of 00:06:23.15\00:06:25.27 analogies in the life of Samson between him 00:06:25.28\00:06:30.02 believe it or not in Jesus. So listen carefully 00:06:30.03\00:06:33.31 as we study this. Now we have a memory verse. 00:06:33.32\00:06:36.20 It's lesson number 6 in your quarterly. 00:06:36.21\00:06:38.29 The memory verse is from first John chapter 2 00:06:38.30\00:06:41.14 verse 16. And I think many of you know this 00:06:41.15\00:06:44.62 by heart. It says for all that is in the world 00:06:44.63\00:06:48.75 the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes and 00:06:48.76\00:06:52.47 the pride of life is not of the Father it is of 00:06:52.48\00:06:55.85 the world and the world pass it the way in the 00:06:55.86\00:06:58.55 lust thereof, but He that does the will of God 00:06:58.56\00:07:01.71 will abide forever. I had one of the verse, 00:07:01.72\00:07:05.01 you know Samson had unusual privileges. 00:07:06.38\00:07:08.75 If you begin by going to judges chapter 13 like 00:07:08.76\00:07:12.59 Jesus, his birth is fore told through an 00:07:12.60\00:07:16.36 angelic visit. And like Jesus his mother is told 00:07:16.37\00:07:22.43 that her child and the father is told there is 00:07:22.44\00:07:25.30 a great mission for his life. And the matter of 00:07:25.31\00:07:29.35 fact the name Samson means sunny and or bright. 00:07:29.36\00:07:34.62 And it could be because of this bright angel 00:07:34.63\00:07:37.52 that came and brought this message to them that 00:07:37.53\00:07:39.78 they gave him that name it could be because they 00:07:39.79\00:07:42.34 saw that he had a bright future. 00:07:42.35\00:07:44.31 Now most of us know the story of Samson and he 00:07:45.59\00:07:48.14 made a lot of mistakes. And it makes me think 00:07:48.15\00:07:52.83 sometimes that even though he was several 00:07:52.84\00:07:56.88 generations in the church when he was born, 00:07:56.89\00:07:58.97 and even though he was prepared with all those 00:08:00.41\00:08:02.53 opportunity that doesn't automatically mean a 00:08:02.54\00:08:05.48 person doesn't have a freedom of choice. 00:08:05.49\00:08:07.64 God would have all men to be saved. 00:08:08.92\00:08:11.44 He is not willing that any one should perish but 00:08:11.45\00:08:13.15 we all have free choice. And Samson certainly 00:08:13.16\00:08:15.72 exercised his freedom of choice. 00:08:15.73\00:08:17.28 Well, I am getting ahead of myself a little bit. 00:08:17.29\00:08:19.17 We'll get into our study here. 00:08:20.07\00:08:23.07 I told you the word Samson means sunny, 00:08:23.66\00:08:26.04 Mininova his father's name means rest. 00:08:26.71\00:08:30.31 And they were hoping that he was going to bring 00:08:30.32\00:08:32.33 rest to his people. And then he was told 00:08:32.34\00:08:35.19 in Judges chapter 13 verse 5, 00:08:35.20\00:08:37.80 "He shall begin to deliver Israel and the word 00:08:38.66\00:08:43.05 deliver is from the Hebrew word it's Yasha 00:08:43.06\00:08:46.77 which means to defend. And it's very similar to 00:08:46.78\00:08:51.12 the word of Jesus Yeshua. In the same way the 00:08:51.13\00:08:54.82 angel said to Mary to call his name Jesus or 00:08:54.83\00:08:57.75 Yeshua for He will save His from their sins. 00:08:57.76\00:09:00.73 The angel is telling them until this have the 00:09:00.74\00:09:03.50 promised child. And He says, 00:09:03.51\00:09:05.20 He will begin to deliver, He'll begin to save 00:09:05.21\00:09:07.87 God's people. So even there Samson is supposed 00:09:07.88\00:09:11.24 to be a type of Christ and that He was destined 00:09:11.25\00:09:13.90 to be a savior of the people. 00:09:13.91\00:09:15.44 As he began to mature and he saw the oppression 00:09:16.13\00:09:19.47 of his own people under the Philistines, 00:09:19.48\00:09:22.44 it tells us and you can read Judges chapter 00:09:23.29\00:09:24.91 13 verse 25, "And the spirit of the Lord began 00:09:24.92\00:09:28.51 to move him at times, and that word is it began 00:09:28.52\00:09:33.25 to stir him at times between the camp of Dan, 00:09:33.26\00:09:38.62 between Zorah and Eshtaol. Now Samson is the only 00:09:39.35\00:09:44.41 hero that comes from the tribe of Dan, 00:09:44.42\00:09:47.77 you got King Soul and you probably have 00:09:48.35\00:09:52.98 others who come from the tribe of Benjamin like 00:09:52.99\00:09:55.44 Saul of Tarsus. You got Mathew from 00:09:55.45\00:09:58.37 the tribe of Mathew Levi, you've got different 00:09:58.38\00:10:00.47 judges that came from different tribes but 00:10:00.48\00:10:03.24 Samson is the only one who becomes a hero from 00:10:03.25\00:10:06.36 the tribe of Dan. And by the way 00:10:06.37\00:10:08.47 a great deal of the book of Judges of about a 00:10:08.48\00:10:12.89 dozen different judges, a great deal of the book 00:10:12.90\00:10:16.39 of Judges is dedicated to Samson. 00:10:16.40\00:10:18.53 So I think we need to recognize some of the 00:10:18.91\00:10:20.37 spiritual lessons that are then. 00:10:20.38\00:10:21.67 Somebody said one time great men are born in 00:10:23.08\00:10:26.91 times of great oppression. This was the time when 00:10:26.92\00:10:30.86 the children of Israel were being greatly 00:10:30.87\00:10:32.54 oppressed by the Philistines. 00:10:32.55\00:10:34.44 Moses was born during that the oppression of 00:10:35.13\00:10:37.18 Egypt, Samson during the oppression 00:10:37.19\00:10:39.50 of Philistine, Jesus during the oppression 00:10:39.51\00:10:42.14 of Rome. God raises these people up to deliver 00:10:42.15\00:10:45.40 and Christ of course is supposed to deliver us 00:10:45.41\00:10:48.08 from our sins. Now even during the time of Samson 00:10:48.09\00:10:54.53 gestation within his mother. 00:10:54.54\00:10:56.08 His mother has given very careful guidelines that 00:10:56.09\00:11:00.38 she should not eat anything unclean or drink 00:11:00.39\00:11:03.59 anything fermented from the wine. 00:11:03.60\00:11:06.10 She is given very strict guidelines regarding 00:11:06.63\00:11:10.63 her personal health habits because God is going 00:11:10.64\00:11:13.64 to use this young man in a special way. 00:11:13.65\00:11:15.76 Now if ever there was a scripture in the Bible 00:11:16.11\00:11:17.82 that would be a good catalyst to talk about the 00:11:17.83\00:11:19.75 health message. You haven't heard too many 00:11:19.76\00:11:22.25 people talk about the book of Samson in the 00:11:22.26\00:11:24.19 context of health. We usually use 00:11:24.20\00:11:25.66 Daniel chapter one. But here the strongest 00:11:25.67\00:11:28.48 man whoever lived physical strength God 00:11:28.49\00:11:32.72 makes a connection between the eating and 00:11:32.73\00:11:35.29 living habits of the mother and his life. 00:11:35.30\00:11:38.83 And so there's something to be 00:11:39.39\00:11:40.49 said for that I wanna read a quote for you from 00:11:40.50\00:11:42.34 the book Patriots and Prophets page 562. 00:11:42.35\00:11:45.23 There are few who realize as they should how much 00:11:46.51\00:11:50.68 there habits of diet have to do with their health 00:11:50.69\00:11:52.95 their character, their usefulness in this world 00:11:53.61\00:11:56.64 and their eternal destiny. You mean there is a 00:11:56.65\00:11:59.44 connection between our health and our living 00:11:59.45\00:12:01.48 habits and our eternal destiny? 00:12:01.49\00:12:03.18 The appetite, now the word appetite there it 00:12:03.94\00:12:06.12 can mean the physical passions whether it's a 00:12:06.13\00:12:08.22 passion for food or other things. 00:12:08.23\00:12:11.24 The appetite should ever be in subjection to the 00:12:11.79\00:12:15.72 moral and intellectual powers. 00:12:15.73\00:12:18.04 We all have those animalistic desires in our 00:12:18.77\00:12:22.10 natures but we are not just an animal we are a 00:12:22.11\00:12:26.38 spiritual creature in the image of God. 00:12:26.39\00:12:28.62 We are an animal as usually governed by its 00:12:29.31\00:12:31.40 passions people are to be governed by their 00:12:31.41\00:12:34.04 intellect and the passions are to be 00:12:34.05\00:12:37.14 subject to that. Now you'll see why this is an 00:12:37.15\00:12:40.45 important point as we study on in this lesson. 00:12:40.46\00:12:42.89 The body should be servant to the mind and not 00:12:43.52\00:12:47.47 the mind to the body. You know there is the man 00:12:47.48\00:12:50.32 who was brought to Jesus one day he was paralyzed 00:12:50.33\00:12:53.32 and he was carried on his bed, 00:12:53.33\00:12:55.11 after he was forgiven and healed he left Jesus, 00:12:55.12\00:12:58.87 he still had his bed but instead of the bed 00:12:58.88\00:13:00.80 carrying him he's carrying the bed. 00:13:00.81\00:13:03.31 And the bed in the Bible represents sort of the 00:13:03.84\00:13:05.84 carnal side of the nature we all have that, 00:13:05.85\00:13:08.42 the question is, is the bed carrying you or you 00:13:08.43\00:13:11.60 carrying the bed? And after we've been 00:13:11.61\00:13:14.03 delivered by the Lord, we still have temptation, 00:13:14.04\00:13:16.28 we still have desires. But they are to be in 00:13:16.29\00:13:18.45 subjections to the higher powers of the mind. 00:13:18.46\00:13:21.44 Amen. Amen. That's one of the things I think that 00:13:21.45\00:13:23.99 distinguishes a victorious Christian from those 00:13:24.00\00:13:27.21 who are just lead by the lust of the flesh and 00:13:27.22\00:13:29.11 the lust of the eyes and the pride of life. 00:13:29.12\00:13:30.94 Now was also set aside to be a Nazarite. 00:13:30.95\00:13:34.90 Nazarite would take this vow, 00:13:35.73\00:13:37.44 and the word Nazarite means they were separates. 00:13:37.45\00:13:40.14 Our Christians supposed to be separate from the 00:13:40.98\00:13:42.97 world. Amen. Was Christ separate from the world? 00:13:42.98\00:13:46.87 And Samson was called aside to be separate, 00:13:47.75\00:13:51.94 to be unique. You know one thing 00:13:51.95\00:13:53.48 you have discovered about Samson after he begins 00:13:53.49\00:13:56.03 his ministry if you will is that he doesn't 00:13:56.04\00:14:01.44 really have an army, I mean Gideon had his 00:14:01.45\00:14:04.10 300 even Jonathan had an amour bear, 00:14:04.11\00:14:07.57 David had his mighty men. Many of the great 00:14:07.58\00:14:11.24 people of God had their partners and their 00:14:11.25\00:14:14.26 comrades, or their army. Samson seemed to always 00:14:14.27\00:14:17.96 be alone. And I want to really emphasis that 00:14:17.97\00:14:23.52 point that I think Samson was a lonely man. 00:14:23.53\00:14:26.98 And let me go on you'll understand that better 00:14:27.55\00:14:31.06 in a moment. It is possible, 00:14:31.07\00:14:33.99 now who else was a Nazarite in the Bible 00:14:34.00\00:14:36.25 that was filled with the Holy Spirit? 00:14:36.26\00:14:37.49 John the Baptist, were guidelines given to John? 00:14:39.00\00:14:41.33 Was John filled with the Holy Spirit? 00:14:41.95\00:14:43.70 In the same way that Samson was the mightiest 00:14:44.13\00:14:46.28 of the judges physically John the Baptist was the 00:14:46.29\00:14:48.50 greatest of the Prophets spiritually, right? 00:14:48.51\00:14:51.16 Was Jesus a Nazarite? Well, the jury may still 00:14:52.75\00:14:57.13 be out on that. You know a lot of paintings paint 00:14:57.14\00:15:00.85 pictures of Jesus with long hair typically right? 00:15:00.86\00:15:04.16 You'll notice all the Jehovah witness paintings 00:15:04.61\00:15:06.25 of Jesus' hair short because it says, 00:15:06.26\00:15:07.93 how could he have long hair when that verse says 00:15:07.94\00:15:09.61 it's a shame for man to have long hair. 00:15:09.62\00:15:11.51 And, but if you are a Nazarite, 00:15:11.52\00:15:14.28 it was okay to have long hair you wont cut your 00:15:14.29\00:15:16.09 hair. Well, it was possible to have the vow of 00:15:16.10\00:15:20.82 the Nazarite for a specific period of time. 00:15:20.83\00:15:24.03 It did not mean to be a life long vow. 00:15:24.48\00:15:26.48 Samson was told you are a Nazarite for life. 00:15:26.49\00:15:29.73 it could be that Jesus lived as a Nazarite until 00:15:30.19\00:15:33.04 He began His ministry at 30 years of age. 00:15:33.05\00:15:35.26 And like I said, the scholars don't agree on 00:15:35.27\00:15:37.82 this. But there is a verse you need to consider, 00:15:37.83\00:15:40.50 Mathew chapter 2 verse 23, 00:15:40.51\00:15:42.62 "And he came and he dwelled in a city called 00:15:43.46\00:15:45.63 Nazareth that it might be fulfilled that was 00:15:45.64\00:15:49.29 spoken up by the Prophets he shall 00:15:49.30\00:15:51.40 be called a Nazarene". Now they are quoting 00:15:51.41\00:15:54.58 from Judges speaking of Samson. 00:15:54.59\00:15:57.47 And so Mathew saying that there is a spiritual 00:15:58.75\00:16:02.12 connection here between the fact that he grew 00:16:02.13\00:16:04.56 up in the city Nazareth which is drawn from the 00:16:04.57\00:16:07.77 same route as a Nazarite or as a Nazarene because 00:16:07.78\00:16:11.86 he was going to be separate. 00:16:11.87\00:16:13.10 And so whether Jesus lived as a Nazarite for 00:16:13.11\00:16:16.39 the first 30 years before He began His ministry 00:16:16.40\00:16:18.35 we don't know, we do know after His ministry 00:16:18.36\00:16:20.41 that must have been over because He was drinking 00:16:20.42\00:16:23.24 grape juice which a Nazarite could not do. 00:16:23.25\00:16:25.52 So like I said, the, this not a total agreement 00:16:25.86\00:16:29.05 in that but I thought I was sharing. 00:16:29.06\00:16:30.65 As we now look through Samson and his women. 00:16:33.10\00:16:35.21 And I'll be delicate and how I share this with 00:16:35.99\00:16:37.85 you. There are three women that are involved in 00:16:37.86\00:16:41.81 his life in some form. All three of them betray 00:16:41.82\00:16:47.34 him. Now if Samson is a type of Christ and if a 00:16:47.35\00:16:54.68 women represents a church and if you study 00:16:54.69\00:16:58.85 the history of God's people especially in the 00:16:58.86\00:17:01.21 Old Testament; do we see a pattern where God's 00:17:01.22\00:17:05.49 people often forsake the Lord and they go after 00:17:05.50\00:17:08.94 other lovers that there is betrayal? 00:17:08.95\00:17:11.27 So I think that there maybe a lesson there if 00:17:11.28\00:17:13.91 you want to use the spiritual analogy. 00:17:13.92\00:17:17.11 Here I will go to the Judges chapter 14 verse 1, 00:17:17.12\00:17:19.54 "we have talked about the birth, 00:17:19.55\00:17:20.73 they call his Samson the spirit of the Lord is 00:17:20.74\00:17:22.50 moving on him". Now they are constantly 00:17:22.51\00:17:27.48 involved in the business with the Philistines, 00:17:27.49\00:17:29.73 they are subjugated by the Philistines. 00:17:29.74\00:17:32.14 They understand their language fairly well. 00:17:32.15\00:17:34.41 And it says in Judges 14 verse 1, 00:17:35.64\00:17:37.72 "Now Samson went down to Timnah", 00:17:37.73\00:17:40.09 I looked up that word this morning. 00:17:40.61\00:17:41.81 The word Timnah means forbidding image, 00:17:42.24\00:17:46.26 something forbidden like an idolatry or something 00:17:47.70\00:17:50.42 you look at and that tells about something about 00:17:50.43\00:17:53.88 what was happening here. And he saw a women in 00:17:53.89\00:17:57.46 Timnah of the daughter of the Philistines, 00:17:57.47\00:18:00.06 doesn't say she had a great character. 00:18:01.74\00:18:03.46 She probably had a good appearance he saw, 00:18:04.19\00:18:06.70 and he said to his parents, 00:18:07.87\00:18:09.04 his father and his mother, I have seen a woman in 00:18:09.05\00:18:11.76 Timnah of the daughters of the philistines now 00:18:11.77\00:18:13.70 therefore get her for me as a wife. 00:18:13.71\00:18:15.87 And the father and mother could grieve that their 00:18:17.10\00:18:19.40 son was, pardon me, son was great calling is 00:18:19.41\00:18:23.95 now about to throw away his ministry by a bad 00:18:23.96\00:18:27.53 marriage they're really worried. 00:18:27.54\00:18:30.34 And you and I have seen cases before where there 00:18:31.75\00:18:34.16 is perhaps a young man who has tremendous 00:18:34.17\00:18:36.64 opportunity for ministry. I have seen some young 00:18:36.65\00:18:42.26 people who had tremendous powers for Evangelism. 00:18:42.27\00:18:44.87 And then they get into a marriage with somebody 00:18:45.88\00:18:47.92 who is up the world and it often unravels this 00:18:47.93\00:18:51.25 is very, very sad and it's like that they were 00:18:51.26\00:18:53.61 looking on the outside and they said all such a 00:18:53.62\00:18:55.26 beautiful person I'll convert them later. 00:18:55.27\00:18:57.43 And they fall for that famous line and your God 00:18:58.98\00:19:02.73 and His mercy sometimes people marry outside of 00:19:02.74\00:19:05.17 their faith and God and His mercy sometimes it 00:19:05.18\00:19:07.36 works out. Don't use as an excuse to go 00:19:07.37\00:19:10.75 against the word of God, the Bible says you 00:19:10.76\00:19:12.64 should not be unequally yoked together. 00:19:12.65\00:19:15.37 Amen. Amen. And I saw what her, 00:19:15.99\00:19:21.22 she pleased me it well. And her parents say as 00:19:21.23\00:19:23.86 you can understand, is there no women among 00:19:23.87\00:19:26.17 the daughters of your brethren? 00:19:26.18\00:19:27.91 Or among all of my people? In other words if it's 00:19:27.92\00:19:30.23 not even going to be from the tribe of Dan 00:19:30.24\00:19:32.99 at least from the children of Israel that you 00:19:33.00\00:19:35.75 must go and get a wife from the uncircumcised 00:19:35.76\00:19:38.20 Philistines. And the parents emphasized that 00:19:38.21\00:19:40.49 because some of the other neighboring nations 00:19:40.50\00:19:42.84 namely the Edomites, the Moabites, 00:19:42.85\00:19:45.39 the Ammonites, they were still enemies of Israel 00:19:45.40\00:19:48.96 but they all believed in circumcision. 00:19:48.97\00:19:50.63 They were loosely related to the Jews but not to 00:19:51.53\00:19:55.10 the Philistines. They were total foreign 00:19:55.11\00:19:58.22 pageants, idolaters. And it was a great 00:19:58.23\00:20:02.93 sorrow of heart to the parents that Samson would 00:20:04.18\00:20:06.68 do this. But you know they could have said no. 00:20:06.69\00:20:09.00 He did ask his parents permission but he probably 00:20:10.15\00:20:12.80 began to whine maybe their only son the mother 00:20:12.81\00:20:15.93 had been barren. Or by the way I don't 00:20:15.94\00:20:18.51 want to rush past that point. 00:20:18.52\00:20:19.91 There are seven examples in the Bible of miracle 00:20:20.52\00:20:23.64 births. Six examples of which seven examples of 00:20:23.65\00:20:27.76 babies that are born to mothers that are barren 00:20:27.77\00:20:30.57 all of those babies are types of Christ. 00:20:30.58\00:20:33.17 Real quick, you've got Sarah was barren, 00:20:34.00\00:20:37.56 Isaac is born. Isaac is type of Christ 00:20:38.47\00:20:40.15 he goes up the mountain as a sacrifice, right? 00:20:40.16\00:20:42.10 Rebecca was barren. Isaac praised for Rebecca 00:20:43.10\00:20:45.35 she has Jacob and Esau. 00:20:45.36\00:20:47.81 Jacob is a type of Christ; he is the father of 00:20:47.82\00:20:49.70 Israel, the twelve patriots the twelve 00:20:49.71\00:20:51.40 Apostles a lot of analogies there. 00:20:51.41\00:20:52.89 Rachel was barren, prayer first born son 00:20:53.73\00:20:56.87 Joseph tremendous type of Christ. 00:20:56.88\00:20:59.23 Saves His people sold by His brothers, right? 00:20:59.89\00:21:01.86 You've got Shunammite woman who was barren. 00:21:02.54\00:21:05.23 Elijah prayed she has baby boy dies while working 00:21:06.12\00:21:08.68 in the field and he's resurrected a type 00:21:08.69\00:21:10.48 of Christ. This miracle baby boy dies he's 00:21:10.49\00:21:12.50 resurrected. You've got Hannah who was barren, 00:21:12.51\00:21:15.16 Samuel comes along. He's the type of the Christ. 00:21:15.17\00:21:17.84 He's a Prophet, he's a priest. 00:21:17.85\00:21:19.46 He is a judge of Israel as Jesus is our Prophet, 00:21:19.47\00:21:22.29 our priest, our judge. Then you got 00:21:22.30\00:21:24.09 John the Baptist, miracle birth greatest 00:21:24.10\00:21:27.58 of the prophets and Samson. 00:21:27.59\00:21:29.94 So don't miss the point he has to be a type of 00:21:30.70\00:21:32.62 Christ because he's among the miracle births 00:21:32.63\00:21:35.17 that you find in the Bible. 00:21:35.18\00:21:36.18 So he now begins to want this pageant woman. 00:21:36.43\00:21:40.48 And the parents are saying why, 00:21:41.53\00:21:43.07 why would you go after her? 00:21:43.08\00:21:44.85 She's unclean. You know, you wonder what the 00:21:44.86\00:21:48.30 angels might have thought when Jesus said I am 00:21:48.31\00:21:49.96 going to this world because my bride is down 00:21:49.97\00:21:52.38 there in this unclean world. 00:21:52.39\00:21:53.78 Are you listening to me? If a woman is the type 00:21:53.79\00:21:57.62 of the church and if Samson is a type of Christ 00:21:57.63\00:22:00.76 there may even be a spiritual analogy here 00:22:00.77\00:22:03.06 that He sees something in us even though we are 00:22:03.07\00:22:06.08 unclean. Now don't mix up the principles of being 00:22:06.09\00:22:09.91 unequally yoked. I am going back and forth 00:22:09.92\00:22:11.85 between the literal and the spiritual analogies; 00:22:11.86\00:22:13.97 is everyone clear on that. And they said can't 00:22:13.98\00:22:17.74 you find one in your people in, 00:22:17.75\00:22:19.29 you know he really sounds like a muscle 00:22:19.30\00:22:21.08 head here. I got that from John Lomacang. 00:22:21.09\00:22:24.56 I am not calling him that I mean John usually 00:22:27.08\00:22:28.67 use that term. He sounds like someone you find in 00:22:28.68\00:22:33.00 a gym. Get her for me. She pleases me well. 00:22:33.01\00:22:36.95 I want her. But that doesn't it sound like he's 00:22:39.26\00:22:42.11 little spoiled? I want her, you know and so 00:22:42.12\00:22:45.47 they finally relent. They could have put their 00:22:45.48\00:22:47.62 foot down so they, they arranged a marriage 00:22:47.63\00:22:50.02 and something interesting happens in the context 00:22:50.75\00:22:52.81 of this marriage. In working of the terms 00:22:52.82\00:22:55.29 of the dowry they are going back and forth from 00:22:55.30\00:22:57.74 Dan to Timnah. And on the way 00:22:57.75\00:23:00.61 Samson goes off the trail and he sees a lion that 00:23:00.62\00:23:04.55 roars against him. And this is when he's 00:23:04.56\00:23:06.19 really feeling his oats and the Holy Spirit 00:23:06.20\00:23:07.95 moving up on him. And the lion leaps 00:23:07.96\00:23:11.11 at him and he takes the line and he tears it 00:23:11.12\00:23:13.06 to pieces. Now let me emphasis something I don't 00:23:13.07\00:23:15.70 think he does that because he is muscle bound. 00:23:15.71\00:23:18.04 It says the spirit of the Lord came up on him. 00:23:18.05\00:23:20.71 Are you aware, no one in the Bible does it says 00:23:20.72\00:23:23.59 Samson had big biceps? Are you aware that same 00:23:23.60\00:23:28.57 spirit came up on David? And David killed the 00:23:28.58\00:23:31.88 lion and it doesn't say he killed the lion with 00:23:31.89\00:23:33.81 a sling. It says he took it by the beard and 00:23:33.82\00:23:36.65 the bear. The Holy Spirit came upon him. 00:23:36.66\00:23:40.57 And he tore the lion to smithereens and it says 00:23:41.63\00:23:43.89 like it was a goat threw it aside. 00:23:43.90\00:23:45.61 Well few weeks later he was on his way back 00:23:45.62\00:23:47.53 down the lion's carcasses decomposing, 00:23:47.54\00:23:50.36 he wonders it if it still there, he remembers the 00:23:50.37\00:23:52.00 memory. And he steps aside to see. 00:23:52.01\00:23:53.51 And lo and behold there is a nest of bees. 00:23:53.52\00:23:56.49 They are probably not your regular tree bees 00:23:56.50\00:23:58.31 closer to yellow jack it's but they used to eat 00:23:58.32\00:24:00.45 that honey and it's made the nest in the chest 00:24:00.46\00:24:05.58 cavity of this lion. And Samson looks at 00:24:05.59\00:24:09.72 the right and he looks to the left and he thought 00:24:09.73\00:24:11.36 boy honey and that's sound pretty good. 00:24:11.37\00:24:13.19 But you are not suppose to touch anything 00:24:13.20\00:24:15.32 unclean, if you are a Nazarite especially 00:24:15.33\00:24:18.05 anything at carcass of our, an animal that is 00:24:18.06\00:24:20.76 already unclean. So he takes some honey out 00:24:20.77\00:24:23.79 he brings to his parents, he doesn't tell his 00:24:23.80\00:24:25.46 parents he got it from the carcass of a lion. 00:24:25.47\00:24:28.08 And give it to them and they eat it. 00:24:29.87\00:24:31.89 Now then he goes to the wedding. 00:24:34.55\00:24:36.06 Now there are some spiritual lessons here 00:24:36.07\00:24:38.13 I think they are important. 00:24:38.14\00:24:39.11 At the wedding he thinks boy that was really a 00:24:39.63\00:24:41.66 unique experience. And maybe he's trying 00:24:41.67\00:24:44.58 to defer the cost of the dowry for the wedding, 00:24:44.59\00:24:47.26 I don't know but he says make a deal with you, 00:24:47.27\00:24:49.22 you Philistine men. He says, I'll pose a riddle 00:24:49.23\00:24:51.89 to you and if you can tell me my riddle, 00:24:51.90\00:24:54.92 he says then I am going to give you thirty 00:24:54.93\00:24:56.71 garments and changes of Raymond. 00:24:56.72\00:24:58.22 And if you can't then you give it to me. 00:24:58.99\00:25:01.11 And so you know gambling men maybe he waited 00:25:02.21\00:25:04.26 till they had a few drinks before they took him 00:25:04.27\00:25:06.70 up on this. And so they said go for it, 00:25:06.71\00:25:10.84 what's the riddle? Judges 14:14, 00:25:10.85\00:25:13.43 "He said to them out of the eater came forth 00:25:14.37\00:25:16.94 meat, and out of the strong came forth 00:25:16.95\00:25:20.13 sweetness. And they could not in three days 00:25:20.14\00:25:24.03 expound the riddle. "So here he got three 00:25:24.04\00:25:26.18 and half days. Then they begin to 00:25:26.19\00:25:28.84 go after his fiancée, his bride to be and say 00:25:28.85\00:25:33.45 look you got a, did you bring us to this wedding 00:25:33.46\00:25:35.58 to take what's ours? You better tell us, 00:25:35.59\00:25:38.03 you better find out from your husband. 00:25:38.04\00:25:39.69 I mean after all your Philistine, 00:25:39.70\00:25:41.25 we are Philistine, he's a foreigner whose 00:25:41.26\00:25:42.70 side are you anyway? If you don't help us out 00:25:42.71\00:25:45.00 we are gonna burn you with fire. 00:25:45.01\00:25:46.36 My question for you, where should her 00:25:46.88\00:25:49.38 allegiance have been? With her nation first 00:25:49.39\00:25:53.33 or with her husband? It should have been with 00:25:53.34\00:25:56.57 her husband, but they threatened her and what 00:25:56.58\00:25:59.84 she should have done is that she should have said, 00:25:59.85\00:26:02.01 oh my husband is the strongest man in 00:26:02.02\00:26:03.60 the world. Maybe she didn't know that yet. 00:26:03.61\00:26:06.38 And told her husband what was happening Samson 00:26:07.43\00:26:09.60 would have took care of them. 00:26:09.61\00:26:10.61 But instead she betrayed him, and she whined and 00:26:12.89\00:26:18.20 she cried and she plead with Samson and she just 00:26:18.21\00:26:20.90 nagged him until why he despaired of life. 00:26:20.91\00:26:23.62 I am sure nobody here has ever had that 00:26:25.28\00:26:26.64 experience before, on dangerous ground. 00:26:26.65\00:26:29.95 And he said alright, alright here's what 00:26:32.52\00:26:35.22 the riddle means. And before the sun goes 00:26:35.23\00:26:38.29 down on the seventh day, timings is very 00:26:38.30\00:26:41.20 interested in this story. They said that what's 00:26:41.21\00:26:44.78 stronger than a lion and what's sweeter than 00:26:44.79\00:26:46.54 the honey? And Samson said 00:26:46.55\00:26:48.48 if you had not knew how they had found out, 00:26:48.49\00:26:50.59 if you had not ploughed with my hair for you had 00:26:50.60\00:26:52.28 not found out my riddle. And he was infuriated 00:26:52.29\00:26:57.87 by the betrayal. He was deeply hurt by 00:26:57.88\00:27:02.98 the betrayal. How does it make Jesus feel? 00:27:02.99\00:27:08.50 When we betray the truth, we betray Him, 00:27:10.01\00:27:15.58 Jesus is the truth. We betray Him because 00:27:15.59\00:27:19.05 we cast our vote with the world. 00:27:19.06\00:27:21.36 We are more interested with acceptance with the 00:27:21.37\00:27:24.18 world than being accepted by our groom. Amen. 00:27:24.19\00:27:28.26 And you know from this point he never recovers 00:27:29.37\00:27:31.58 from that rejection. He never marries again 00:27:31.59\00:27:34.67 Samson has no children. It broke his heart that 00:27:35.74\00:27:39.51 he would be betrayed like that. 00:27:39.52\00:27:40.73 The other women in his life were just there. 00:27:41.23\00:27:43.34 He never marries, he's afraid of the hurt. 00:27:44.56\00:27:47.03 What happens now, oh by the way, 00:27:47.51\00:27:49.08 you know there is so much here and I am looking 00:27:50.06\00:27:51.15 at the clock and what is it mean honey out of 00:27:51.16\00:27:55.70 the lion? Well there is three meanings that I 00:27:55.71\00:27:59.43 think that you can understand from this. 00:27:59.44\00:28:00.81 First of all honey he takes something that is 00:28:00.82\00:28:04.46 good, something that is sweet from something 00:28:04.47\00:28:06.25 that is unclean. Marriage is good, 00:28:06.26\00:28:08.30 marriage is of God, it's not good that a man 00:28:08.31\00:28:10.72 should be alone, it is sweet, 00:28:10.73\00:28:12.43 it's a blessing, he defines wife finds it 00:28:12.44\00:28:14.89 a good thing, right? But if you take it out 00:28:14.90\00:28:18.32 of a deadline taking it from something that 00:28:18.33\00:28:20.46 is unclean. Marrying out of your faith it is bad. 00:28:20.47\00:28:24.35 And what he did as he took something that was 00:28:24.36\00:28:25.74 inherently good but he got out of something 00:28:25.75\00:28:27.50 that was bad and that makes it all bad. 00:28:27.51\00:28:29.39 So that's one lesson. Secondly honey out of a 00:28:30.53\00:28:34.58 slain lion is the symbol of Samson's life. 00:28:34.59\00:28:36.94 Even though the Lord had given him all of these 00:28:38.22\00:28:41.34 gifts that were good gifts he misapplied the good 00:28:41.35\00:28:43.77 gifts. Some people they have the gift in 00:28:43.78\00:28:47.22 music and just tremendous talent. 00:28:47.23\00:28:50.29 And God will let you misapply your talent 00:28:50.97\00:28:53.44 and a lot of people with gifts of music they 00:28:53.45\00:28:55.33 start off singing for the Lord, 00:28:55.34\00:28:56.43 they end up singing for the world and Samson 00:28:56.44\00:28:59.54 did that. But the good news is that before it 00:28:59.55\00:29:01.14 was all over, he gave his gift back to the Lord. 00:29:01.15\00:29:03.73 Thirdly, honey out of a slain lion, 00:29:05.11\00:29:07.21 spiritual analogy here. A lion is also a type 00:29:07.22\00:29:11.82 of Christ. He's the lion of the tribe of Judah. 00:29:11.83\00:29:14.98 A slain lion and a slain lamb they are in the 00:29:15.86\00:29:18.72 Revelation chapter 5, he says, 00:29:18.73\00:29:20.64 do not weep behold, this is the lion of 00:29:20.65\00:29:23.35 the tribe of Judah the root of Jessie. 00:29:23.36\00:29:25.93 We find salvation honey is the word of God 00:29:26.60\00:29:29.74 Psalms 119:103 how sweet are thy words to my 00:29:30.25\00:29:33.33 taste sweeter than honey to my mouth the lot of 00:29:33.34\00:29:35.25 the word is like honeycomb right? 00:29:35.26\00:29:36.96 What did Jesus eat when he rose from the dead? 00:29:36.97\00:29:38.87 Honeycomb! What did John the Baptist eat? 00:29:39.49\00:29:41.08 It is similar for the word of God in our mouths 00:29:41.76\00:29:44.18 often the prophets would eat a scroll that would 00:29:44.19\00:29:46.00 be like the honey in their mouths; 00:29:46.01\00:29:47.66 and so that honey from a slain lion is telling us 00:29:48.27\00:29:51.57 how our King Jesus, the lion through His 00:29:51.58\00:29:55.81 death that's how we get the word. 00:29:55.82\00:29:57.99 So there's some beautiful analogy is there and 00:29:58.67\00:30:00.37 I just don't have time for that all. 00:30:00.38\00:30:01.81 Anyway he later comes back to, 00:30:02.13\00:30:03.49 he wants to see his wife, he starts to feel 00:30:03.50\00:30:06.34 regret and, father in law gives his wife away to 00:30:06.35\00:30:10.30 his best man, betrayed again. 00:30:10.31\00:30:13.06 Now he's mad and now he launches a ramble 00:30:14.12\00:30:16.38 campaign against the Philistines. 00:30:16.39\00:30:18.40 Ties up 300 foxes and sets them loose and he gets 00:30:18.75\00:30:22.52 into an all out war with the Philistines, 00:30:22.53\00:30:25.21 pretty soon he's hiding out the rock Etam. 00:30:26.03\00:30:29.23 The Philistine say we are gonna attack Israel 00:30:29.61\00:30:31.37 unless you turn over Samson. 00:30:31.38\00:30:32.67 Samson is in tied up by his own people and 00:30:33.07\00:30:35.58 handed over to the Gentiles. 00:30:35.59\00:30:37.83 Did that happened to Jesus? 00:30:37.84\00:30:39.10 Was Jesus betrayed by His own people and handed 00:30:40.18\00:30:42.34 over to the Gentiles? And it says Samson dwelt 00:30:42.35\00:30:46.08 in the rock is in Christ like the rock. 00:30:46.09\00:30:48.84 That's said the story where Samson breaks the 00:30:50.02\00:30:51.84 bonds and he kills the thousand men with the jaw 00:30:51.85\00:30:54.31 bone of the donkey and I don't have a lot of time 00:30:54.32\00:30:56.80 to talk about some of those adventures. 00:30:56.81\00:30:58.25 You know it tells us in Deuteronomy that one 00:30:58.93\00:31:03.18 will chase a thousand, Deuteronomy 32:30 00:31:03.19\00:31:06.39 it says Samson slew a thousand men. 00:31:06.40\00:31:07.98 Moses prophesized that would happen, 00:31:08.49\00:31:10.24 how should one chase a thousand unless the Lord 00:31:10.83\00:31:13.00 is with them? Betrayal number two Judges 16:1, 00:31:13.01\00:31:18.41 Samson goes to Gaza that means strength the goat 00:31:18.75\00:31:22.27 and he's been kind like stubborn goat now. 00:31:22.99\00:31:24.99 And he find there a woman at the night there 00:31:26.04\00:31:27.83 harlot and why he is there it says, 00:31:27.84\00:31:31.37 the men of the city the guards of the city 00:31:31.79\00:31:33.81 are told. Who do you think told them? 00:31:33.82\00:31:36.93 You know how opposite Ray have protected God's 00:31:38.23\00:31:40.81 people when they came to her, 00:31:40.82\00:31:41.95 this Harlot betrays Samson to the 00:31:41.96\00:31:45.02 people of the gate. And so they try to 00:31:45.03\00:31:47.38 capture him. And what does he do? 00:31:47.39\00:31:49.47 He rips the gates right out of their sockets puts 00:31:49.48\00:31:53.68 them on his shoulders he says you think you gonna 00:31:53.69\00:31:55.77 keep me and with these gates, tears them right 00:31:55.78\00:31:58.11 after off the wall may seen flying every where, 00:31:58.12\00:32:01.69 hoists them up on his shoulders, 00:32:01.70\00:32:03.49 carries them for miles up to the hills of Hebron. 00:32:03.50\00:32:07.15 Jesus says that the gates of Hades will not 00:32:08.60\00:32:10.10 prevail against the church and against Him. 00:32:10.11\00:32:13.61 Amen. Amen. Mathew chapter 16 verse 18 00:32:13.62\00:32:17.73 upon this rock I'll built my church and the gates 00:32:17.74\00:32:19.88 of Hades shall not prevent against Him. 00:32:19.89\00:32:22.29 So he is betrayed again, now we get to the last 00:32:22.91\00:32:25.80 and the most famous betrayal, 00:32:25.81\00:32:26.89 what's your name? Delilah. Delilah, 00:32:29.54\00:32:31.77 well I remember that, anyone who named their 00:32:31.78\00:32:34.21 daughter Delilah? So it's like nobody 00:32:34.22\00:32:38.61 names their sons Nero or daughter Jezebel they 00:32:38.62\00:32:43.56 are sort of infamous names. 00:32:43.57\00:32:45.06 I actually know somebody named Delilah hope 00:32:45.78\00:32:47.68 they are not watching right now sorry. 00:32:47.69\00:32:48.97 Afterward it happened that he loved the women 00:32:52.02\00:32:53.92 of the valley of Sorek whose name was Delilah. 00:32:53.93\00:32:57.29 Sorek means red grapes, Delilah means the 00:32:57.95\00:33:02.24 consumer. This woman is the epidemy of 00:33:02.25\00:33:06.52 Revelation 17. She's something like the 00:33:06.53\00:33:09.90 Scarlet Harlot that betrays God's people 00:33:09.91\00:33:12.39 cup full of the blood of the saints. 00:33:14.23\00:33:15.74 And she develops this relationship with Samson 00:33:17.15\00:33:19.98 the Lord of the Philistines say, 00:33:19.99\00:33:21.38 how much do you want in order to betray the 00:33:23.22\00:33:26.32 secret of his strength? I mean we don't let you 00:33:26.33\00:33:28.92 to take him down he's got some secret weapon 00:33:28.93\00:33:30.94 we need to know what the secret is? 00:33:30.95\00:33:32.65 And they coven it with her for eleven hundred 00:33:34.41\00:33:38.22 pieces of silver. He's sold, 00:33:38.23\00:33:40.43 he's betrayed for silver does that 00:33:40.44\00:33:42.71 sound familiar? Joseph was betrayed by his own 00:33:42.72\00:33:45.51 for silver, total of five thousand five hundred 00:33:45.52\00:33:49.86 pieces of silver and she agrees. 00:33:49.87\00:33:51.32 Well they go through this game. 00:33:51.96\00:33:53.73 She says tell me what the secret of your strength 00:33:55.03\00:33:57.00 is in? He knew he got to were he didn't trust 00:33:57.01\00:33:58.87 anybody because he had been betrayed. 00:33:58.88\00:34:00.95 You know he get betrayed enough times he gets 00:34:01.67\00:34:03.42 words very hard to trust people. 00:34:03.43\00:34:05.04 And he keeps making these things up, and she says 00:34:06.13\00:34:10.40 the Philistines are upon me, and he jumps up and 00:34:10.41\00:34:12.66 he tears them apart and finally she just starts 00:34:12.67\00:34:16.68 begging him and nagging him. 00:34:16.69\00:34:17.93 And he realizes you know there, there is nobody 00:34:17.94\00:34:20.02 in life and I think that when Samson finally be 00:34:20.03\00:34:22.80 divulged the secret of secrets that he had been 00:34:22.81\00:34:26.47 consecrated to God his hair was his symbol of 00:34:26.48\00:34:29.79 his vow, he probably did that knowing that it 00:34:29.80\00:34:33.64 was going to cost him life but he felt what good 00:34:33.65\00:34:35.27 is it, you know I cant trust anybody. 00:34:35.28\00:34:36.57 And finally she says to the Philistines bring 00:34:38.34\00:34:40.47 down your guards. He's told me everything 00:34:40.48\00:34:42.16 puts him to sleep on his knees, 00:34:42.17\00:34:45.28 stroking his head as though she loves him. 00:34:45.29\00:34:47.40 And it calls for the barber cuts off his hair, 00:34:48.73\00:34:50.85 shouts Samson the Philistines are upon me. 00:34:50.86\00:34:53.77 And he gets up to shake himself as other times 00:34:53.78\00:34:55.94 and this is a tragic verse. 00:34:55.95\00:34:57.11 He did not know that the spirit of the Lord had 00:34:57.80\00:35:00.43 departed from him. You wonder if there can 00:35:00.44\00:35:03.29 be some among the God's people among in the last 00:35:03.30\00:35:05.01 days raised in the church just assume because you 00:35:05.02\00:35:08.08 are raised in the church that means 00:35:08.09\00:35:09.32 God is with you. But you can hang 00:35:09.33\00:35:11.20 around with the pageant so long that you lose 00:35:11.21\00:35:13.06 the spirit of the Lord. And they put out his 00:35:13.07\00:35:16.93 eyes, they bound him, they put him in the house 00:35:16.94\00:35:23.59 to grind their flour. And we don't know how 00:35:23.60\00:35:27.70 long it was he probably mingled a lot of tears 00:35:27.71\00:35:30.05 with his toes as he went round and round 00:35:30.06\00:35:32.99 repenting for his squandered life. 00:35:33.00\00:35:35.11 And they would come by and mock him as he 00:35:36.33\00:35:38.15 ground. You know I heard someone say one time 00:35:38.16\00:35:42.41 and I wrote it down. Sin will find you, 00:35:42.42\00:35:46.39 numbers chapter twenty three, 00:35:46.40\00:35:50.67 thirty two rather twenty three be sure your sin 00:35:50.68\00:35:51.98 will find you out. Sin will bind you, 00:35:51.99\00:35:54.70 sin will blind you and sin will grind you. 00:35:56.50\00:36:00.51 Samson was found out by his neglect of his gift, 00:36:03.14\00:36:06.88 it blinded him, he was bound and they made him 00:36:07.67\00:36:13.27 grind and he reached the very bottom. 00:36:13.28\00:36:15.85 And at that point he repented little by little, 00:36:17.36\00:36:19.68 they didn't notice as he was repenting and 00:36:19.69\00:36:21.88 crying. I'll tell you what that some people sin 00:36:21.89\00:36:24.41 like Samson but they don't repent like he did. 00:36:24.42\00:36:26.14 They sin like David but they don't repent like 00:36:27.19\00:36:28.73 David. David spent days on his face. 00:36:28.74\00:36:30.83 He repented so long and it was long enough for 00:36:32.13\00:36:33.66 his hair to go back. Now I'd be repenting 00:36:33.67\00:36:36.47 a long time before that happened. 00:36:36.48\00:36:37.86 And as his hair grew they finally brought him 00:36:41.52\00:36:43.86 into the temple of Dagon to offer him as a 00:36:43.87\00:36:46.11 sacrifice to their pageant Gods, don't miss this. 00:36:46.12\00:36:48.59 And in amidst of all that he knew that they were 00:36:49.70\00:36:53.16 sporting with him, they were mocking him, 00:36:53.17\00:36:54.87 it says they were making sport of him, 00:36:54.88\00:36:56.35 mocking him, did they mock Jesus? 00:36:56.36\00:36:58.88 That he says the young man that bore, 00:37:01.24\00:37:02.99 that guarded him and he says where are the 00:37:03.90\00:37:05.43 pillars. Unfortunately Samson knew about the lay 00:37:05.44\00:37:08.00 out of the temple of Dagon. 00:37:08.01\00:37:09.46 And they brought him to the borders there and he 00:37:10.02\00:37:12.56 felt the pillars and he prayed, 00:37:12.57\00:37:15.43 Lord I am ready to lay down my life forgive me 00:37:15.44\00:37:20.11 fill me one more time with the spirit. 00:37:20.12\00:37:22.20 Do you think Samson would be in heaven? 00:37:23.08\00:37:24.65 He's mentioned in Hebrews is one of the faithful, 00:37:25.36\00:37:27.47 Hebrew's chapter 11. And he bowed himself, 00:37:27.48\00:37:30.62 the temple came down and the testimony, 00:37:30.63\00:37:33.83 the end of his life as he slew more by his death 00:37:33.84\00:37:37.16 then he did by his life. The last act of his life 00:37:38.24\00:37:40.65 was he brought down the temple of the pageant 00:37:40.66\00:37:43.55 God. Jehovah wins over Dagon which happened 00:37:43.56\00:37:47.32 later when the Philistines stole the ark. 00:37:47.33\00:37:49.29 There are many types I wanna close with his 00:37:50.38\00:37:51.85 thought, how was Samson like Jesus? 00:37:51.86\00:37:53.59 Jesus was delivered by the Heathen, 00:37:54.95\00:37:57.13 delivered by his own people to the Heathen. 00:37:57.14\00:37:59.50 Jesus was never married like Samson betrayed 00:38:00.42\00:38:02.97 for silver, he lost his strength for you and me, 00:38:02.98\00:38:06.28 protection was withdrawn. Jesus was blinded, 00:38:07.08\00:38:10.06 they put a hood over his head and they beat him, 00:38:10.65\00:38:12.55 they mocked him. He was bound that 00:38:12.56\00:38:14.91 we might be loose.
