the country of Romania.

I've officiated many weddings
in Palau and other countries

and this
particular one was interesting

because I did
not know the custom

but in turn itself that
the husband to be had to go

over to the wives
home and knock on the door

and try to get into the house

and they were
trying to dissuade him

and finally he persisted
and they said all right,

around and of course,

the bride to be
was right in the home.

Then the-- as he found

So the couple sits
down and then you begin

for the exchange of vows.

there thinking that way?

pretty restrictive?

life just with her.

And could you imagine her

standing on the
other side thinking,

is gonna be quiet an experience.

Now, I can tell you that
both of those young people

were so anxious
that I get over the vow

so that they could
finally declare themselves

as husband and wife.

I think you recognize
that the most restrictive vows

that people make on
this planet is the vows

that they make to one each other
00:12:26.54\00:12:28.43
when a man and a woman
00:12:28.46\00:12:31.96
bring their lives
together in holy matrimony.

But what is it that
enables an individual

to decide to restrict
themselves only to one person

for the rest of their lives?

What is it that
makes an individual

decide that they are
going to support a person

for the rest of their
lives irrespective of the cause?

Well, its something called
just four letter word "love."

What is it? It is love.

It is love that enables somebody

to get into that
kind of relationship

that they are
willing to commit themselves

one to the other
until death do them apart.

And what a joy it
is to see young people

who love each other to
get together, get married

and then to live a life
hopefully, happy ever after.

And so the
wedding, marriage vows,

vows restrictive that
any person can make on earth

and yet so many people
make them willingly, anxiously

desiring the
privilege to finally be together
00:13:37.48\00:13:40.55
with that person forever.

Well, when a
person accepts Christ

and a person is baptized

and as since what one
is doing is also making

some very, very wonderful vows.

A commitment to be
the large until He returns

and then that relationship
will continue on forever.

According to the
Book of John Chapter 14,

then the Jesus says
that "If you love Me,

you will keep My commandments."

Obviously then love is
what motivates and individual

to get married and it is love

that will motivate a person
to commit his life to Christ

and that which enables a
person to have that relationship

is that
wonderful glue that binds

the lives together called love.

When we love somebody
we don't mind doing things

that otherwise
we would never do.

We love to please
somebody that we love,

isn't that true?

Even if it may not be that

which is most
pleasant to oneself

but the fact that it pleases

somebody else
you're willing to do it.

And so that's why the Bible says

that "Whatsoever we
ask, we receive of Him,

because we keep
His commandments,

and do those
things that are" what?

"Pleasing in His sight."

I think you will
recognize that a dear mother

that has to change the diapers
of those children day after day

and perhaps
sometimes or many times a day,

does it because
she enjoys the aroma?

No, she does it
because she loves the children.

Love then is that
which enables us to do things

which otherwise we would
not do except love for they.

And so the relationship that

we as Christians
should have Christ

should be relationship of
love and if we love the Lord

we will want to do
all that pleases Him.

And so a Christian
then needs to understand

that the relationship
with Christ can be sweetened

and it can endure as long
as there is love for Christ.

But sometimes what happens

is that people lose
that love for the Lord

and then the religious
experience becomes golly,

it becomes bitter
and people began to think

that there is a yoke about them

and consequently wished
they could get out of a yoke.

And so it turns into
a relationship of fear

rather than the
relationship of love

and that's not
what the Lord prefers.

Now, Jesus of course says,

that if we're going to
follow Him one of the things

we need to learn to
do is to deny ourselves

and take up the
cross daily to follow Him.

The Christian life
just like the marital life

requires some giving up.

We call it sacrificing.

I know when I got married
with my wife for example,

I remember the first time

she washed my
clothing hung them up.

I went to the
closet to get up my shirt

and discovered that my
shirts were hung on backwards.

Now, you may say, how do
you hang shirts on backwards?

Well, its simple I
use to hang my shirts

with the buttons facing this way

Well, to me that's backwards.

couple premarital counseling

how people are different
and how when they meet together

thought of that example

and began to tell the
couple about this example

get my shirts from the closet.

What do you suppose?
She put them backwards.

watching me behind the corner

and when I went to get
the shirt it was awkward now

because I had been so
used to the other way.

And she just laughed

My friends, when
you love somebody

you don't mind
changing for them.

Love is what motivates us

the Christian of all people

understand that many things

us in exchange of that

with you there are sometimes

like what she cooked

but she only cooked that

what she thought would
bring good health to me.

And so parents are
like that. Isn't that true?

You may not
like that's been that

you may not like the greens,
you may not like something

but dad or mom are not doing
it to make it difficult on you

they do it because
they think out of love that

this is the nutrition you need

so you can be
healthy and strong.

Well, when you're
going through this process

You're wishing that mom
somehow would change your mind

mother who loves children

tells us in chapter 1 verse 29

that God gave
man the first diet.

The first what? The first diet.

In a perfect world God
gave man a perfect diet.

Now you would think well,

if a man is perfect
why does he need a diet?

Well, simply because
God loves His children.

In out of love God provided
the best that man could have.

In fact, Genesis 1:29,

the Bible says
that God said to man,

every seed and every tree

that has a seed for
you it shall be for meat.

The word meat is an
old English word for food.

And so God provided
mankind all the food,

all the grain, all the
nuts as the first diet.

In fact, it's
interesting He also provided

for the animal
kingdom their diet

and it says all the green herbs

of the field shall
be for, their food.

God, a loving God giving
us the best that He could.

But then sin came in.

And if you were
to track from Genesis

down the line you would discover

that a sin came in
man's diet began to change.

But listen, in
the Book of Revelation

we find the
restoration of that diet.

In fact, we're told
that there is a tree of life

which bears
twelve men their fruit.

And in the Book of
Isaiah it also tells us

that we will plant
vineyards and the fruit of them.

In other words, obviously
what man lost God will restore.

Man lost the tree of
life, do you remember that?

God usher them out of
the Garden of Eden and said,

unless they eat
of the fruit forever

separated them from that.

Well, God restores
back the tree of life

and man again will
be able to eat that

which will be
the best for his life

So what has happened in between
that from being fruitarians?

to a young man today

who happens to weight lift
and I was telling him that,

by the way, they had all sorts
of stakes there in the grill

stakes and I said no thanks,

I don't partake of the stakes.

And he said, why not?

I said, well
because I'm a vegetarian.

And he said, well
don't you need protein?

protein comes from all food

who happens to be
a vegan vegetarian

and he presses 400 pounds.

Well, he said,
well that's impressive.

Well, it is impressive because
a lot of people have the notion

that the first diet that
God gave was not the best.

But let me ask you a question,

a God of love and
the God who knows all

doesn't He know
what's best for us?

for us He provided the best.

Well, when man then
began to fall into sin

decline in the diet.

where the first diet is

where man now is in
eating the herb of the field

which was given to the animals.

man now is in meat
and so he continues to go

into the change of diet.

good counsel for good health.
