Jesus made to his believers

throughout the centuries,

the greatest hope that
has lit up their future,

was the hope that some
day Jesus would return.

The promise had been
made and many have longed

for that promise.
Many today are anxious

and desiring that
Christ would return.

However, we recognize
that in as much as this is

the grandest
hope of all Christians

it is the very subject
that the enemy would seek to

change, or to
deceive with something other

than what Christ has promised.

In fact, Jesus Himself said
to us: "If they say unto you,"

"Lo, He is here!" and "Lo,
He is there!" do not go forth. "

"For as lightning shineth from
the East even unto the West,"
00:11:19.51\00:11:22.38
"so shall also the
coming of the Son of Man be. "

Jesus warned that
there would be counterfeits.

There would be an
attempt to counterfeit

the coming of Christ, and so,

I believe tonight that one
of the first things we ought

to do is clear up

that particular issue
about the coming of Christ.

First of all,

the disciples,
whom Jesus had promised

He would come
back, met with Christ

just prior to
Jesus going to Heaven.

That is found recorded
in the book of Acts 1:9-11.

Notice it says that as
Jesus was speaking to them,

all at once he began to
rise before their very eyes

and it says in the

Notice then, that
the scripture says

as they were talking
with Him, all of a sudden

He begins to rise
and He was taken up

in a cloud and
receded out of their sight.

Then verse 10 tells

In other words, have you
ever had one of those balloons,

or your child has had one
of those balloons that float,

and all of a
sudden they let go of it,

and which was
does the balloon go?

Well, it begins to go up.

And have you ever watched
that balloon go up and up and up

until finally, it
goes out of sight.

And so, that was
what was taking place.

The disciples then were standing
there gazing up into heaven,

Two angels, and what did
they say to the disciples?

Just think of it.

They're
spellbound, they had never seen

anything like that before.

I think friends, that if you
were a disciples in that moment

that you would
certainly be stunned

as for the first time in
your life you would see somebody

defy gravity and
ascend into heaven.

So Jesus rises,
they're watching him go up,

the angels finally come and
say: "Why are you standing,"

"looking up into heaven?"

Notice, they continue

Notice it doesn't say "a Jesus",
it says "this same Jesus".

The question then, did
they see Him go into heaven?

What's the answer?
Yes, of course they saw Him.

The scripture says "This
same Jesus, which was taken up"

"from you into heaven,
shall so come in like manner"

"as ye have seen Him go into
heaven. " So did they see Him?

The answer is yes,
they saw Him go into heaven

and the angels
are saying to them,

the same way He went will be
the same way He'll come back.

He was seen going up, and
He shall be seen returning.

That's interesting,
because there are others

who are saying that when
Jesus comes He'll be invisible.

But listen, the
scripture "as He was seen,"

"so He will be seen again when
He returns the second time. "

In fact, there's
another passage in scripture,

in the book of Revelation 1:7.

Now remember, Acts 1 says:
"He was taken up in the clouds"

and Revelation 1:7 He comes
back with what? With clouds!

As He went, so He
returns in the same manner.

And notice it says: "And
a few eyes will see Him. "

Is that what it says?

In other words, not only will

the righteous see
Him, but also the wicked.

In fact, the next part of

So when He comes,
the scripture says

that all the tribes will mourn.

It says that
every eye will see Him.

Now here's a problem with
that, I've heard people say

"How's it possible for every
eye to see Jesus when He comes?"

Well, this is a possibility,
let me share it with you.

The Earth is round, and you have
00:16:51.11\00:16:54.28
the North Pole
and the South Pole.
00:16:54.31\00:16:57.45
I have been to Australia often,
and in Australia you can see
00:16:57.85\00:17:02.11
what is called
the "Southern Cross".
00:17:02.14\00:17:04.83
But people in the North Pole
can not see the Southern Cross.
00:17:05.14\00:17:09.27
In America, for
example, where you may live,
00:17:09.81\00:17:12.28
we can't see the Southern
Cross, we see the North Star.

The Australians however,
can't see the North Star,

or the Polar Star.

But, what's interesting is this,
according to the scriptures,

Jesus comes from what direction?

From the east.

What constellation
is out in the east?

Orion. The constellation
of Orion is out in the east.

Now, what's interesting
is this, every eye can see

from the North,
and from the South.

In Australia, I can see Orion.
00:17:43.54\00:17:47.06
Up in Norway, I can see Orion.

Wherever I go, I can see Orion.

Now you may ask the
question "How's it possible"

"to see a 6 foot man?" and
I assume that Jesus is 6 feet.

I don't know how tall He was,

but let's assume
He was 6 feet tall.

How is it possible for you to
see a man up in the sky coming?

Well, let me
explain it to you this way,

something called a Sputnik.

How many of you have
heard of the Sputnik?

The Sputnik was the first
object that went up into space

and I remember as
a young lad seeing
00:18:35.04\00:18:38.83
the Sputnik up in the sky.
00:18:38.86\00:18:41.47
Now we're talking about
an object that's up in space,
00:18:41.73\00:18:47.08
several hundred
miles up in space.
00:18:47.34\00:18:50.25
Now the question is this:

"How is it possible for a
human being down here on Earth"

"to actually see
Sputnik up there?"

Do you know how big Sputnik is?

You may be surprised to
discover that the Sputnik

is no larger than a basketball.

No larger than
what? Than a basketball.

Then how's it possible for me to
see Sputnik up there in space?

Well, it is simple.

Because Sputnik was so bright

it was easily seen in space.

what is called a shooting star?

seen a shooting star?

Well if you've
seen a shooting star,

big a shooting star is?

Most shooting stars
are the size of a pea.

However, when it enters into
our atmosphere what happens?

It light's up, and it light's
up so bright that it looks

like a huge thing
coming from space,

when in reality most objects

that come into our atmosphere

are small and because
they light up so bright,

you can see them from distances.

So, if you can see Sputnik,

which is the size of a
basketball, how difficult then

is it to see
someone the size of a man?

And especially, since that man

is coming from heaven,

and He's coming with
all the glory of His Father,

He is coming with
the glory of the Angels,

and He is coming with His own
- what? - with His own glory.

If it's easy to see Sputnik
or just see a shooting star,

then how easy do you think
it will be to see Jesus coming

in all His splendor
and glory. What do you say?

Can you now understand how
possible it is for every eye

to see Him.

But listen, if Jesus said it, we
don't need Sputnik to prove it.

If the Lord said it, obviously
He has a way to make sure

that everyone will see Him.

This is just an illustration
to help you understand how

says we will meet Him where?

not meet you on the Earth,

how certain His promises are

that we will not be deceived

that they are hiding?

to the rocks, but unfortunately

statues can't answer.

learn now to pray and talk

Christ, what do you say?

I to get acquainted with Him.

that there is only one death,

part of the group that rises

when Christ comes, then you will
experience the second death.

But if you rise with Christ,
will you experience that?
