A young lady who happened
to have her father passed away

was kind of discouraged
because all that there's,

Well, she was not
very happy with that

and after the
funeral she took the Bible

and which was wrapped in plastic

and she decided to
put it away in the attic

and that's what she did.

She lived several years
until finally she became sick

and could not
work, lost her job.

And with pretty
mad off financially

and one day since she was home

and couldn't do much of anything

podium in the attic.

up into the attic

there is a lot of stuff there

any voices coming from space.

As we were talking together
I began to help her understand

from the scriptures
that science was already

kind of behind times because
the Bible already reveals

that there are voices
coming form outer space.

In fact, there are
beings in other space.

In fact, as the Bible declares

that we're made a spectacle

And this planet happens

something to help mankind.

The Bible has been given to us
with the purpose of helping us

to understand the will of God

God had to
communicate with man verbally.

Now, the Scripture
reveals that when mankind

was first created there
was a face to face communion,

God spoke with man.

If you look at
the Book of Genesis

you'll see that right
there right in the beginning

in the first chapter and
the second chapter of Genesis,

it speaks about God
telling man what to do.

In verse 28 of
Genesis 1, God blessed them

and God set unto them.

"Be fruitful, and multiply,
and replenish the earth."

So right then the
first chapter of the Bible,

God is speaking to mankind.

In the second chapter
again God speaks to man

is recorded there.

Verse 16, it says God--

commanded the man, saying,

'Of every tree of the garden

thou shall not eat

that thou eateth thereof,

And so you can see then that

two chapters of the Bible

God is communicating
face to face with man.

chapter of the Bible again

reveal the restoration of all

that God will restore to
man since man lost everything

as a result of rebellion.

But I want you to
notice in particular

chapter 22 verse 3 and 4.

It says "And there
shall be no more curse

but the throne of
God and of the Lamb

shall be in it and his
servants shall serve him."

And verse 4 "And
they shall see his face
00:12:47.66\00:12:51.19
and his name shall
be in their foreheads."

They shall see
his what? His face.

So we're told then that
we will actually be restored

back to where we can
talk to our God face to face.

God helps us to understand
the need to scriptures.

according, to the scriptures

God gave many
gifts to His people.

It was imperative that
God would guide His people

gift that He gave out to man

What did He do?

gifts full on purpose.

gave this purpose of the,

gifts for the purpose of

perfecting the saints
for the work of ministry,

of the body of Christ.

So when Jesus
left and went to heaven

that the disciples

still would receive
guidance and counsel

and so God then instituted
these new gifts to disciples

so that mankind could be guided.

Now the question is,

what did God do
in the Old Testament?

Well, we know that
in the Old Testament

God spoke face to face with man

but finally because of sin

the God spoke via another means.

is what means is it

in the Old Testament.

Spirit is manifested

of helping the church.

"But the manifestation

of the Spirit is
given to each one

for the profit of all,

different kinds of tongues

different languages.

What does it mean?

Now it's important
for us to understand

because there is some confusion
here today among Christians

concerning some spiritual gifts.

One of the greatest confusion
is in the area of tongues.

In the area of what? Tongues.

A lot of people think
that tongues is something

that you can
either teach somebody
00:19:27.40\00:19:29.80
and I know some
churches people go

and they'll say okay
roll your tongue several times

and you'll get the gift, okay.

Other people
think that something
00:19:36.09\00:19:37.85
that just
spontaneous it comes upon you

and you'll say
something you don't understand.

And that's the
spiritual gift of tongues.

Well, the
Scriptures when it's referring

to the gift of tongues

it's speaking
actually of languages.

And in the Book

different spiritual gifts

which was given specifically

in this particular time

some people who will say that
