begin with a question.

When is a warning a good thing?

Luther Warren was asked
to go to speak in Jamaica.

There was a
school of theology there

and they wanted to
have the students see

evangelistic thrust

and how you
develop the subjects,

Warren to be the speaker

for people to come
forward on an altar call,

which is not
something you normally do

at the first not in
the evangelistic meeting.

But nonetheless,

hundreds of people
went forward weeping,

it seemed as if those something
strange had taken place,

something had taken
the whole of Luther Warren

and something spoke
through the hearts of the people

because they
came forward weeping

and many of them gave their
hearts to the Lord that night.

the leaders of the school

did not know if they
should be happy or upset.

him and said what happened,

hear all that I gave.

home to his motel room

and the leaders of
course also went to their places

and at 4 o'clock in the morning
is when it was discovered why.

A major
earthquake hit that city.

And hundreds of people died.
00:11:09.12\00:11:13.72
Many of them who at that night
00:11:13.75\00:11:16.49
given their hearts to the Lord.

Now what if those people
had not yielded to that warning.

I'm thankful that
before God acts He warns,

what do you say?

I'm thankful
that God always acts

before He acts,
always warns before He acts.

Tonight God has given us
many warnings in the scriptures

and I think you and I understand

that things are
different our day, is that true?
00:11:53.09\00:11:57.72
Things are vastly different.

So different that
people are very concerned.

But are these
things that are happening,

happenstance it's
a just coincidence

or did God foretell

that these things
would take place in our day.

And the answer is yes.

Now let's consider
what the Bible says.

First of all Jesus
was on the Mount of Olives

and the disciples came

because Jesus had just
unveiled to them the future.
00:13:00.84\00:13:05.15
And remember,
that Jesus said to them
00:13:05.18\00:13:08.23
that I'm
telling you these things
00:13:08.26\00:13:10.46
so that when they come
to pass, you may believe.
00:13:10.49\00:13:14.65
So what's the reason for
God unveiling these things,
00:13:14.68\00:13:17.70
is to help us to what,
to believe, to believe what?
00:13:17.73\00:13:21.35
To believe in
God and His promises
00:13:21.38\00:13:23.41
and so when Jesus
unveiled these things,
00:13:23.44\00:13:27.16
especially about the temple
that was standing before them,
00:13:27.19\00:13:31.00
the disciples were
surprised because Jesus said,
00:13:31.03\00:13:34.33
that the temple
would be destroyed.
00:13:34.36\00:13:36.64
And they immediately equated
00:13:36.67\00:13:38.62
the destruction of
the temple in Jerusalem
00:13:38.65\00:13:40.96
with the end of the world.
00:13:40.99\00:13:42.32
After all, the
world would have to end
00:13:42.35\00:13:45.05
if Jerusalem the
temple was destroyed.

So when Jesus told them
that, they came to Jesus

and they simply
asked the question.

Matthew 24:3,
what is the question?

Matthew 24:3 notice it's
says, "Tell us, tell us what,

when shall these things be?

And what shall be the what?

The sign of thy coming,

and of the what,
end of the world?

You see, they
thought that if Jerusalem

and the temple was destroyed
what also would happen?

The end of the world would come.

And that Jesus would return.

Jesus then began to
unfold to the disciples

the different episodes
that they should look forward to

as signs of His coming and
of that would take question,

the end of the world.

And so turning now
to the Book of Luke,

the Book of Luke is
parallel to the Book of Matthew,

but there are some
specific things that Luke writes

that Matthew does not write.

And so look at the

Jesus simply

Earthquakes shall be in

that doesn't mean people
who go scuba diving, but what?

Many different places
okay, divers places and what?

Famines what else?

Pestilences and
fearful signs and what else?

Great signs, fearful
sights and great signs

Notice then, that Jesus
says, there'll be earthquake,

was talking about Armageddon,

Armageddon, it's interesting.

Several years
ago religious issues

actually spoken of very much

on the news, is that true?

It was a taboo, you
don't talk about religion

and people always
say there're two things

you don't talk
about, what's that?

Politics and religion,
isn't that interesting?

But what's the news
talking about today?

Politics and what? And religion.

Two things you're not
supposed to talk about.

Now why is it then,

that they're talking
about politics and religions?

Simply because both for
them are signs, they are what?

They are signs of
things that are happening

and people are troubled

happening in the politic

in the political arena as
well as they're troublous to

what's happening in
the world and planet earth.

In the
magazines you'll find that

they're talking
about these things

but look what
Jesus said in verse 25

at that same chapter.

There shall be what?

magazine, what does it say?

What does the

the end of the world,

isn't that interesting?

All sorts of
focusing on the apocalyptic

and the Armageddon

that are supposed to take place.

Now Jesus reveals these things

because He wants us to believe.

And when you think about

what Jesus shared
with the disciples,

it is obvious that He
had to have divine intuition

in order to accurately foretell

all that would take
place in the future.

Now earthquakes, remember
he mentions earthquakes.

recognize that earthquakes are

things that are taking
place in our days, is that true?

and went on to the internet,

You can find
almost all sort of things,

It was interesting to me

because I never knew
anything about my background

in terms of my family background

things on the internet.

Number one, I discovered that,

that even though I was born
very, very poor that my family,

my dad's family was
actually very, very rich.

They owned thousands of acres,

my dad's uncle happened
to be the mayor of the town

and it turns out
also that from that family

we had some
quite infamous people.

In fact one of my dad's cousins

was the one who attempted to
assassinate President Truman,

his name was Canales,

so if you look up the name
C-A-N-A-L-E-S in the internet

it comes up with his
name and the story about him

and another fellow
attempting to go in

and assassinate the president.

Well, I'm glad
they all know that

while I didn't
know that until tonight.

Internet is quite interesting,

we live in a
time when technology

is just
advancing at great speeds,

And because of the internet
you can discover a lot of things

scary, earthquakes.

There are actually websites

that tell you
how many earthquakes

are taking place every singe day

or where they are
taking place the magnitude.

Did you know that?

So I went on the website,

not that I'm going to
give you all what I discovered

but you recognize for example

that-there was just a major
earthquake not too long ago

in Pakistan, you remember that?

And the rescue efforts continue

after a 7.6
quake jolted Pakistan.

And over 100,000 confirmed dead

and over 2
million left homeless,

you remember that earthquake
it took place last year.

And of course, in my
research I discovered this,

that back in tracking
earthquakes in 1950 to 1959

there was one major
earthquake then it increased

increased, and it increased

difference 13 major earthquakes

from 1990 to 1991.

Now let me ask you a question.

increasing, yes or no?

Yes, they have been increasing

and not only have they
been increasing in number,

in magnitude, strength.
