about this story of Moses

to read this story,

where God is leading

the children of Israel,
they get away from Pharaoh,

they're out, they
begin to wonder around.

Now God could have
taken them a direct way,

but He says that
He wanted to take them
00:04:42.34\00:04:44.05
through this wilderness
experience for a reason.

But God is directing him,
and it says, and the Lord,

and of Exodus 13 verse 21,
"And the Lord went before them

by day in a pillar of
cloud and lead the way."

And it says, "And
by night he was there

in a pillar of
fire to give them light,

to go by day and night."

Now, "He took not away the
pillar of the cloud by day,

nor the pillar of fire by
night from before the people."

to talk to you today

is about living
your life in faith

rather than in the physical.

Because when we look
at the physical around us,

Satan is the
prince of this earth.

If we live our
lives in the physical,

we're gonna take
our eyes off of Jesus,

and we're gonna miss
out on eternity forever.

The children of
Israel, over and over and over,

you see that they would
take their eyes off of God

and finally they
would get this in big jam,

and then they
would cry out to God.

"Oh, God, save us
we're in trouble."

The good thing is, God
would hear their voice,

when they were
sincere and He would come back

and He would help them.

So I want to talk
to you today about

when God is leading to
listen by faith "Go forward,"

and what God said
in His scripture was,

"Tell the children of
Israel to go forward."

When we read on,
verse 15, it says

"Tell the children of
Israel to go forward."

Now here's an
interesting thing God did.

And, I want you think
about your own life right now.

The Lord told
him to go, told Moses
00:07:08.39\00:07:10.96
to take the children of Israel.
00:07:10.99\00:07:12.59
Now get this, it's God speaking.

The creator of
the universe says,

"Go down to the Red Sea.
00:07:16.53\00:07:18.57
Yes, there will be
mountains on either side of you,
00:07:18.60\00:07:21.10
the wilderness is there.
00:07:21.14\00:07:22.47
But I want you to camp there."
00:07:22.50\00:07:24.57
So, they went and they camped,
00:07:24.61\00:07:27.08
because God let them,
00:07:27.11\00:07:28.44
the cloud by day,
the fire at night.

So they're here camping

but the Lord allows
Pharaoh's heart to be hardened

and Pharaoh
says, "You know what?

I think I made a mistake.

I want to go get those children
of Israel, all of them."

Tremendous group of them.

Let's go after them
so he took 600 chariots,

took everything that he had
00:07:45.59\00:07:47.26
and said, "We're gonna go
get these children of Israel."

So here they are
camping, they're comfortable
00:07:49.53\00:07:52.07
because they know
that God now is in charge.
00:07:52.10\00:07:55.60
All right? They should be.
00:07:55.64\00:07:57.07
But all of a sudden,
they looked behind them
00:07:57.11\00:07:59.34
and Pharaoh's army
is coming behind them.
00:07:59.37\00:08:01.88
Did they look up and said,
00:08:01.91\00:08:03.24
"Uh, huh, we're not
the least bit concerned.
00:08:03.28\00:08:05.91
We have got it made
because God brought us
00:08:05.95\00:08:08.55
here to this place
and God is in charge
00:08:08.58\00:08:11.35
and we will make, and
we will win this battle.
00:08:11.39\00:08:13.92
We're gonna let God
fight our battle for us,
00:08:13.96\00:08:15.96
and we're just gonna hold our
peace and see what God does."

Is that what they did? No.

They began to murmur. "Oh, no.

Pharaoh's army is
behind us. We can't escape.

We can't go forward,

two million or
how ever many of us,

we can't cross the Red Sea.

The mountains
are on either side,

the wilderness is all around us.

We're in terrible trouble.
What in the world can we do?"

And so, they begin
to complain to Moses.

"Well, what's the matter?

Didn't they have enough
space to bury us in Egypt?

So, let us come out
here so they can kill us

and we'll all
die, right out here?"

I mean, then they
began to say to Moses,

before they were
happy to follow God, see.

Okay.

The Lord is leading
us, we want freedom.

Let's go.

They're following God,
but now all of a sudden,

they come into
trouble, and instead of saying,

it's all right,
that clouds up there

still following us, that's God.

He's protecting
us. What did they say?

"Oh, no well,
there's not enough,

may be there
wasn't enough graves.

And, Moses we told you, we
would rather have stayed in,

in Egypt and serve the Egyptians

rather than to be out
here for you to bring us

in this wilderness just to die."

Now what kind of faith is that?

That's not very
much faith is it?

comfortable where we are.

but it had been born

horse out of the stall.

stayed in that stall.

Why did he stay in that stall?

know anything else.

He was comfortable where he was.

And that's the way we
are as a church today,

we get comfortable

into the promise land.

we can get them now.

This is a lie of the devil
because Satan wants to tell you

turn back to Jesus.

No, matter what you've done,

we think about our children,

will they ever turn back to God?
