The mountain range that runs

There is simply no place for
airplanes to take off or land

making these areas
impossible to reach.

Within these mountains
live the Palawano people,

the indigenous
people of this area.

For the past 18 years,
Adventist Frontier Missions

The Palawanos are isolated
in the mountains because there

them, except by hiking for

the jungle mountainside.

enormous amount of strength and

is very dangerous.

Very often people die on
the trail, simply because they

could not reach
medical aid fast enough.

It is not really designed
for long distant flying.

And so this island for example,

on the low lands on both sides

we need, but when it come to

has undergone a tremendous

When they first arrived, the
villagers were heavily involved

worship and animism.

In these communities by nature
animism is very - very strong.

spirits, and really what it is

And they spend their entire
life, they focus on ways to

all these kind of things.

A major - major problem is
that the devil does his best

to do things to make people fear

the devil and he is subservient

it's so laborious and so slow.

that are just impossible
