Oklahoma is place with its own unique beauty. 00:00:16.10\00:00:19.54 The stretching farms and the fields full of grain 00:00:19.57\00:00:22.46 are restful to the eye. 00:00:22.49\00:00:24.95 And yet beneath this pastoral scene 00:00:24.98\00:00:27.92 is a strong independence of thought and action 00:00:27.95\00:00:32.07 that motivates those who live here. 00:00:32.10\00:00:35.35 Join us as we visit an OCI ministry 00:00:35.38\00:00:39.30 that combines this independence of thought 00:00:39.33\00:00:43.01 with the desire to serve. 00:00:43.04\00:00:45.63 Originally part of the Louisiana Purchase 00:01:01.89\00:01:05.09 this state has a unique history. 00:01:05.12\00:01:08.26 In 1889 was the first land rush. 00:01:08.29\00:01:12.48 The idea was to entice settlers 00:01:12.51\00:01:14.40 to come and move into the territory. 00:01:14.43\00:01:17.40 These would be settlers were 00:01:17.44\00:01:19.27 lined up on a particular boundary 00:01:19.30\00:01:21.76 and when a cannon fired 00:01:21.79\00:01:23.71 they were to make a mad dash to claim their part of the land. 00:01:23.74\00:01:28.95 Some of the more enterprising ones came earlier 00:01:28.98\00:01:33.15 and staked out their own claim 00:01:33.18\00:01:35.48 thus giving rise to the expression 00:01:35.51\00:01:37.93 of the Oklahoma Sooner's 00:01:37.96\00:01:40.32 and idea that still express the independence of thought 00:01:40.35\00:01:43.77 that characterizes the inhabitants of the state today. 00:01:43.80\00:01:47.33 Oklahoma Academy is training their young people 00:01:49.83\00:01:53.93 to enter into the harvest fields of Jesus Christ. 00:01:53.96\00:01:57.78 Oklahoma Academy's mission is taken from Matthew 9: 37, 38 00:02:00.50\00:02:08.03 where Jesus is talking to His disciples 00:02:08.06\00:02:10.52 and He says, pray ye the Lord of the harvest, 00:02:10.55\00:02:13.75 that He was send forth laborers into His harvest. 00:02:13.78\00:02:18.08 And so Oklahoma Academy is designed specifically 00:02:18.11\00:02:22.19 to train young people to be laborers for God. 00:02:22.22\00:02:26.19 For me I enjoy how there is so many different options 00:02:26.22\00:02:29.69 that you can take during the year, 00:02:29.72\00:02:30.90 such as this year I'm taking a French, 00:02:30.93\00:02:33.36 French II and I'm also talking calculus in math 00:02:33.39\00:02:36.65 and so it's really- it's really interesting 00:02:36.68\00:02:38.42 to have other options 00:02:38.45\00:02:39.70 such as in health we learned 00:02:39.73\00:02:41.83 a lot about different foods and different things 00:02:41.86\00:02:44.61 and how they are able to help you 00:02:44.64\00:02:46.26 and how they are able to 00:02:46.29\00:02:48.01 affect your body in negative ways as well 00:02:48.04\00:02:49.93 and just things that you will be able to use later on in life. 00:02:49.96\00:02:55.11 Here at Oklahoma Academy we're not a really large school, 00:02:55.14\00:02:58.30 we actually are designed to be relatively small 00:02:58.33\00:03:02.80 because we want to work more closely with the students. 00:03:02.83\00:03:07.13 During the school year we have the opportunity 00:03:07.16\00:03:09.86 to meet with the students on a more personal level. 00:03:09.89\00:03:14.64 We get a chance to invite them into our homes. 00:03:14.67\00:03:17.77 So we get two-two, three some times even four 00:03:17.80\00:03:21.70 students coming to our homes on Friday evenings 00:03:21.73\00:03:24.60 instead of going to a regularly schedule vespers, 00:03:24.63\00:03:28.65 we have them into our home is far 00:03:28.68\00:03:30.59 both the meal and for a home vespers. 00:03:30.62\00:03:33.42 The students love that, 00:03:33.45\00:03:34.95 they get an opportunity to feel like 00:03:34.98\00:03:38.00 it's not their home but they get to go to a home 00:03:38.03\00:03:40.98 and they feel more like home here at Oklahoma Academy 00:03:41.01\00:03:43.86 because of it, because it they stay with the same family 00:03:43.89\00:03:46.40 all throughout the whole year. 00:03:46.43\00:03:48.02 It's important, it's vitally important 00:03:48.05\00:03:50.69 to-to be able to have some time 00:03:50.72\00:03:53.66 where you just relax or where you're just having fun together. 00:03:53.69\00:03:58.11 You know, every Saturday night we have wreck 00:03:59.52\00:04:01.48 and usually play game called dare base which is really fun. 00:04:01.51\00:04:04.79 We also do camp outs, we love to be out in nature, 00:04:04.82\00:04:08.58 taking time to relax and spend time together as a family. 00:04:08.61\00:04:14.36 In education one of the most important things for us 00:04:14.39\00:04:18.17 is for the students to- to learn about God. 00:04:18.20\00:04:21.90 God is provided us with a couple of different ways to do that. 00:04:21.93\00:04:26.06 One is through His word but the other is 00:04:26.09\00:04:28.87 and what we call the second book of nature, 00:04:28.90\00:04:31.81 where the trees and the birds and the flowers 00:04:31.84\00:04:36.16 all of them tell us of the love of God 00:04:36.19\00:04:38.97 and what He is like, and who He is. 00:04:39.00\00:04:41.34 So it's important for us to have our school in the country 00:04:41.37\00:04:46.06 where we can experience that second book 00:04:46.09\00:04:49.69 and that closeness to God 00:04:49.72\00:04:52.30 that can't be experienced anywhere else. 00:04:52.33\00:04:55.39 Our focus here at Oklahoma Academy really is 00:04:55.42\00:04:59.52 on the students developing a relationship with the Lord 00:04:59.55\00:05:04.91 that they really love Jesus and out of that love of Jesus 00:05:04.94\00:05:09.00 they want to share Him. 00:05:09.03\00:05:10.96 One of those training programs that we started this year 00:05:10.99\00:05:13.17 is a Bible work training program 00:05:13.20\00:05:15.36 where they are being trained and in deeper Bible study 00:05:15.39\00:05:19.94 and then in how to go door to door 00:05:19.97\00:05:21.91 and get Bible study interest, 00:05:21.94\00:05:24.43 how to follow that up with Bible studies 00:05:24.46\00:05:27.43 and then following that up also with evangelism. 00:05:27.46\00:05:31.59 Often times people feel that the pastor should- 00:05:31.62\00:05:35.75 should be the one doing all the work. 00:05:35.78\00:05:37.41 He should be doing the Bible studies, he should be doing, 00:05:37.44\00:05:40.04 you know, everything to- to bring people in 00:05:40.07\00:05:42.66 but we actually believe that Jesus calls each one of us 00:05:42.69\00:05:47.48 as a believer in Christ to work for Him. 00:05:47.51\00:05:50.90 Jesus said, go ye therefore in the world 00:05:50.93\00:05:53.48 and preach the gospel. 00:05:53.51\00:05:54.88 And He wasn't just saying that to pastors, 00:05:54.91\00:05:58.82 He was saying that to His disciples 00:05:58.85\00:06:01.42 and so as lay people it's so important 00:06:01.45\00:06:05.44 that we work together with the church 00:06:05.47\00:06:08.41 to spread the news that Jesus is coming again soon. 00:06:08.44\00:06:11.92 The need for a Bible program is not just for older members 00:06:11.95\00:06:15.90 but young people need to know like I said, 00:06:15.93\00:06:18.35 why they believe, what they believe? 00:06:18.38\00:06:20.58 Well, first of all we start off by basically 00:06:20.61\00:06:23.32 being grounded in our doctrine to be look at versus 00:06:23.35\00:06:26.08 that you know, supports and also the versus that may 00:06:26.11\00:06:28.68 seem questionable and we learn how to answer 00:06:28.71\00:06:30.37 difficult questions if you might have. 00:06:30.40\00:06:32.17 During a school year we have a counseling program 00:06:32.20\00:06:34.00 that encompasses anywhere from five to ten students. 00:06:34.03\00:06:37.48 They go out three times a week and when they go out 00:06:37.51\00:06:40.98 they get an opportunity to knock on doors. 00:06:41.01\00:06:44.18 They're learning how to do a survey at a door 00:06:44.21\00:06:47.41 than to transfer that in- in home Bible study. 00:06:47.44\00:06:50.76 They're learning how to invite them to a meeting 00:06:50.79\00:06:54.86 and transfer them to a local church. 00:06:54.89\00:06:57.44 Knowing that they could be a bridge or they conduit 00:06:57.47\00:06:59.89 for the individual to get connected with the church. 00:06:59.92\00:07:02.21 This year we've really focused on just the- 00:07:02.24\00:07:05.42 the area around the campus and it's really neat, 00:07:05.45\00:07:07.78 you can tell hem how we just went up the road 00:07:07.81\00:07:09.62 and you can make connection with them. 00:07:09.65\00:07:10.68 So yeah, just close by this year probably next year, 00:07:10.71\00:07:13.71 we will be going a little bit further 00:07:13.74\00:07:15.31 and also I believe that they'll be 00:07:15.34\00:07:16.99 the Bible studies that we've had this year 00:07:17.02\00:07:19.78 we carry on next year with the next class. 00:07:19.81\00:07:21.92 They are frontline missionaries right here at Oklahoma Academy 00:07:21.95\00:07:24.94 and give us an opportunity to go out and reach for community. 00:07:24.97\00:07:28.36 After the year is over we're supposed to get a certificate 00:07:28.39\00:07:31.56 that says that we're able to be hired by a church 00:07:31.59\00:07:34.02 and for Bible work. 00:07:34.05\00:07:35.89 That the vision really is to make sure that it's a way 00:07:35.92\00:07:39.12 that students continue to occupy themselves, you know, 00:07:39.15\00:07:42.66 have them interested in wanting to 00:07:42.69\00:07:45.81 be a part of the spreading the gospel. 00:07:45.84\00:07:48.14 The evangelistic series we basically 00:07:48.17\00:07:50.33 worked up to that throughout the year 00:07:50.36\00:07:52.36 so it's really neat to see that going around among the people 00:07:52.39\00:07:54.94 that know that the Holy Spirit was here. 00:07:54.97\00:07:57.34 And in the evenings we all take turns doing health presentations 00:07:57.37\00:08:00.72 and also we have a role to play greeting the people as they come 00:08:00.75\00:08:03.56 and so it's really important to be there 00:08:03.59\00:08:05.75 to bring them in make them feel up home. 00:08:05.78\00:08:07.52 They're really excited especially when they see 00:08:07.55\00:08:10.33 their contacts come through the door. 00:08:10.36\00:08:12.76 And they're being transferred to be workers for the harvest 00:08:12.79\00:08:15.13 that you could actually see 00:08:15.16\00:08:16.67 that taking place right before their eyes, 00:08:16.70\00:08:18.74 you know, that-that's one the joys about it. 00:08:18.77\00:08:21.72 One of the very important aspects of Oklahoma Academy 00:08:21.75\00:08:24.23 is-is our music program. 00:08:24.26\00:08:26.11 We're told that music can reach people for Christ 00:08:26.14\00:08:30.89 when other things cannot. 00:08:30.92\00:08:32.96 And so that the purpose and the thrust 00:08:32.99\00:08:35.94 and the whole goal of our program 00:08:35.97\00:08:38.03 is to be mission oriented in the music that we do. 00:08:38.06\00:08:42.96 We have a very good choir and chorale, 00:08:42.99\00:08:44.84 we have a string ensemble, we have a bell choir 00:08:44.87\00:08:47.70 and we all work together to make those kind of programs 00:08:47.73\00:08:52.20 that will reach people for Jesus. 00:08:52.23\00:08:54.22 I'm involved in bell choir 00:08:54.25\00:08:56.07 and I'm also involved in choir and chorale 00:08:56.10\00:08:59.29 and we started a men's quartet here 00:08:59.32\00:09:01.48 which I'm also a part as well. 00:09:01.51\00:09:04.04 Usually during the year we'll go to churches 00:09:04.07\00:09:07.19 around the state of Oklahoma 00:09:07.22\00:09:09.29 but there is also a big trip that we do 00:09:09.32\00:09:11.04 at the around the end of the year 00:09:11.07\00:09:12.50 that we'll either go out of the country 00:09:12.53\00:09:15.11 or state to state singing at different churches. 00:09:15.14\00:09:20.62 Well, this year I got the opportunity to be in choral 00:09:20.65\00:09:24.23 which is basically like the select choir group. 00:09:24.26\00:09:27.26 I just love you know, the songs that we sing. 00:09:27.29\00:09:31.24 Everywhere we go people want CDs of that particular program. 00:09:31.27\00:09:38.52 We were given this recording equipment 00:09:38.55\00:09:40.76 donated from a friend of the school 00:09:40.79\00:09:43.11 and so we're planning on being able to make CDs every year 00:09:43.14\00:09:47.44 of all the programs that we have. 00:09:47.47\00:09:49.30 We usually I have three programs a year 00:09:49.33\00:09:51.82 and so we're planning on making CDs for each of those programs 00:09:51.85\00:09:55.01 and so that when we go out to those sites, 00:09:55.04\00:09:56.81 we can be able to hand out the CDs to different people 00:09:56.84\00:09:59.61 and bless them and send God's music to their homes that way. 00:09:59.64\00:10:04.12 It's important for anyone entering into mission service 00:10:04.15\00:10:08.16 to have some basic and essential life skills. 00:10:08.19\00:10:12.73 It's a foundation principal of OCI Academies 00:10:12.76\00:10:17.09 to instill in their students a love for work. 00:10:17.12\00:10:22.71 A strong work ethic is important 00:10:22.74\00:10:26.27 for those who will be laboring for Jesus Christ. 00:10:26.30\00:10:29.32 Oklahoma Academy accomplishes this goal in a variety of ways 00:10:29.35\00:10:35.11 but two of their programs, 00:10:35.14\00:10:37.25 are uniquely designed with the missionary in mind. 00:10:37.28\00:10:41.68 They are massage therapy class and the mission 00:10:41.71\00:10:45.02 aviation programs are focused on preparing young people 00:10:45.05\00:10:49.63 for a broader sphere of service. 00:10:49.66\00:10:52.45 Here at Oklahoma Academy we have a work program 00:10:56.20\00:10:58.31 that focuses on the skills similar to 00:10:58.34\00:11:02.83 the skills that they would have to do out in the mission field. 00:11:02.86\00:11:06.65 The students have the opportunity to 00:11:06.68\00:11:08.67 go to either the massage program 00:11:08.70\00:11:10.61 or flight program and it counts as their work 00:11:10.64\00:11:14.11 because we feel that it's an important skill 00:11:14.14\00:11:16.43 that they are learning especially 00:11:16.46\00:11:18.57 if they were looking to go to the mission field. 00:11:18.60\00:11:21.11 Ever since I was three and four 00:11:21.14\00:11:24.97 I was very fascinated with aviation. 00:11:25.00\00:11:27.45 And you know it's just been kind of lifelong hobby. 00:11:27.48\00:11:32.50 And then as I got older and realized there is 00:11:32.53\00:11:35.25 a great need for mission aviation. 00:11:35.28\00:11:37.42 You know, I can do something that I enjoy doing 00:11:37.45\00:11:39.27 and still be serving God which is something that we almost do. 00:11:39.30\00:11:44.03 Here at the school we have 1300 feet grass airstrip 00:11:44.06\00:11:47.68 and then also here in Oklahoma we have winds. 00:11:47.71\00:11:50.45 So it gives you excellent training 00:11:50.48\00:11:52.93 for cross wind techniques, gusty techniques, 00:11:52.96\00:11:57.04 so you know they give you a very solid flying skill. 00:11:57.07\00:12:01.40 In the flight program and the direction of the 00:12:01.43\00:12:03.31 flight program we are looking to be able to 00:12:03.34\00:12:07.28 have a well rounded experience for the flight students 00:12:07.31\00:12:10.47 so that when they leave they have some experience 00:12:10.50\00:12:13.38 in Bible work through the Bible work training program. 00:12:13.41\00:12:16.27 They have some experience in medical things 00:12:16.30\00:12:18.58 possibly through the massage therapy program 00:12:18.61\00:12:21.73 so that when they go out it's not just flying that they know 00:12:21.76\00:12:25.30 and they can put the whole package together. 00:12:25.33\00:12:27.57 I really like it that you work at the school 00:12:27.60\00:12:30.00 because at normal schools you don't get an opportunity 00:12:30.03\00:12:32.03 to learn vocational skills. 00:12:32.06\00:12:33.67 But here they have lots of different things. 00:12:33.70\00:12:36.21 I work in the cafeteria and I actually learned 00:12:36.24\00:12:39.23 most of my cooking skills in the cafeteria 00:12:39.26\00:12:41.75 and I go in there and I cook everyday 00:12:41.78\00:12:44.52 and that's really fun. 00:12:44.55\00:12:46.25 We also like our students to help out on the farms 00:12:46.28\00:12:50.01 so that they get the feeling of working with the soil, 00:12:50.04\00:12:52.72 they get the feeling of picking some strawberries 00:12:52.75\00:12:55.15 or even pulling weeds, you know, 00:12:55.18\00:12:56.41 it's all part of working on the farm. 00:12:56.44\00:12:59.86 Having practical skills of building and mechanics 00:12:59.89\00:13:03.14 and cooking and of those things practically speaking 00:13:03.17\00:13:07.15 a person who is involved in mission work ends up doing. 00:13:07.18\00:13:10.83 It's kind of my first time working outside from the city 00:13:10.86\00:13:15.50 but being here on the work program has really changed 00:13:15.53\00:13:19.34 kind of my perception of things and it's really been 00:13:19.37\00:13:23.75 helping my spiritual life coming closer to God. 00:13:23.78\00:13:27.56 We really want them to understand 00:13:27.59\00:13:30.57 that God wants them to be the best they can be 00:13:30.60\00:13:33.58 and when they are the best they can be in the work area 00:13:33.61\00:13:37.11 they are doing His will in away that no one else can do. 00:13:37.14\00:13:43.54 To this day I can't really explain 00:13:43.57\00:13:45.53 expect for the fact that God led me here. 00:13:45.56\00:13:47.85 My sophomore year the English teacher was asking us, 00:13:47.88\00:13:51.44 if any of us wanted to be involved in the massage program. 00:13:51.47\00:13:55.37 So I thought it will be pretty cool to like be able to expend 00:13:55.40\00:13:58.14 my scope of knowledge and how to give massages, 00:13:58.17\00:14:00.92 how to do it the right way I guess. 00:14:00.95\00:14:03.22 I think coming here has really helped me see 00:14:03.25\00:14:06.56 what God really wants me to do. 00:14:06.59\00:14:08.25 He wants each one of us to serve Him, you know, 00:14:08.28\00:14:11.00 with our whole heart and since I've been here 00:14:11.03\00:14:13.08 I've been able to realize that 00:14:13.11\00:14:14.49 my purpose in life is not for myself 00:14:14.52\00:14:16.18 it's to bless others and to worship God 00:14:16.21\00:14:18.81 and to serve God with my entire being. 00:14:18.84\00:14:22.50 Oklahoma Academy is a self supporting school. 00:14:22.53\00:14:27.00 The finances that we used to run the school 00:14:27.03\00:14:30.90 come directly from our industries, 00:14:30.93\00:14:33.16 tuition from the students 00:14:33.19\00:14:34.87 and any donations that we receive. 00:14:34.90\00:14:37.92 We are in the process of developing a publishing ministry 00:14:37.95\00:14:42.15 in which we have several products. 00:14:42.18\00:14:44.54 The Spanish study Bible, the English study Bible 00:14:44.57\00:14:47.94 and another one that we-that we just put out 00:14:47.97\00:14:50.42 is a little book called "Outside the Gate" for children. 00:14:50.45\00:14:53.92 Portions of each of these books as we sell them the Bibles 00:14:53.95\00:14:58.51 and the "Outside the Gate" will go to worthy student fund. 00:14:58.54\00:15:04.25 Another aspect that we have it helps us connect 00:15:04.28\00:15:06.63 with our community is a health food store. 00:15:06.66\00:15:09.54 And we have people from all over the community, 00:15:09.57\00:15:12.23 that come in and we offer cooking schools 00:15:12.26\00:15:15.55 and health lectures, different specials, 00:15:15.58\00:15:18.97 we sell different products that we make 00:15:19.00\00:15:21.71 through the country store, like bread from the cafeteria. 00:15:21.74\00:15:24.83 There is more lot of people in the community 00:15:24.86\00:15:26.94 that come in for our bread. 00:15:26.97\00:15:29.46 Another thing that we do is sell our produce 00:15:29.49\00:15:32.24 from the farm in the country store and more and more 00:15:32.27\00:15:35.12 people are looking for fresh produce, 00:15:35.15\00:15:38.05 that comes straight from the garden. 00:15:38.08\00:15:41.56 In addition to providing a quality 00:15:41.59\00:15:43.89 and a practical education Oklahoma Academy 00:15:43.92\00:15:48.02 endeavors to insure that all of the students 00:15:48.05\00:15:51.42 get an opportunity to share their faith. 00:15:51.45\00:15:54.88 In a moment we'll explore a creative method 00:15:54.91\00:15:58.56 or accomplishing that aim. 00:15:58.59\00:16:00.40 Pain, suffering and hopelessness 00:16:02.46\00:16:05.05 are every where we look. 00:16:05.08\00:16:06.98 As Christians, we know that the ultimate answer is Jesus. 00:16:07.01\00:16:10.44 We are called to bring people to Him 00:16:10.47\00:16:12.80 as well to share His love in practical ways. 00:16:12.83\00:16:16.01 Can you imagine that difference it would make 00:16:16.04\00:16:18.54 if every church member did all that we can 00:16:18.57\00:16:21.54 to share our hope? 00:16:21.57\00:16:23.12 That's what OCI is all about, lay people using their skills 00:16:23.15\00:16:28.01 to reach their communities and bring change. 00:16:28.04\00:16:30.88 Whether through lifestyle centers or schools, 00:16:30.91\00:16:33.90 restaurants or clinics the methods are diverse 00:16:33.93\00:16:37.42 but the goal is the same, to bring hope and healing 00:16:37.45\00:16:40.57 to our dying world. 00:16:40.60\00:16:42.08 In order for this work to continue 00:16:42.11\00:16:44.51 prayer, workers and funding are all necessary. 00:16:44.54\00:16:48.16 When you support OCI you support the work 00:16:48.19\00:16:51.46 of more than 80 ministries around the world. 00:16:51.49\00:16:55.03 For more information about how you become involved, 00:16:55.06\00:16:58.09 please contact us anytime. 00:16:58.12\00:17:00.29 In order to communicate important truths 00:17:03.17\00:17:06.19 related to the plan of salvation 00:17:06.22\00:17:08.86 God interested ancient Israel with the visual representation. 00:17:08.89\00:17:14.63 The sanctuary service originally given to Moses 00:17:14.66\00:17:18.74 outlined the plan of salvation. 00:17:18.77\00:17:22.03 Oklahoma Academy uses a replica 00:17:22.06\00:17:25.22 of that ancient sanctuary service to communicate important 00:17:25.25\00:17:29.36 gospel truths to today's modern audience. 00:17:29.39\00:17:34.00 Often times I know for in my own experience 00:17:34.03\00:17:36.76 I thought it was boring to study about the sanctuary. 00:17:36.79\00:17:40.67 And here at Oklahoma Academy we have a special emphasis 00:17:40.70\00:17:44.76 on the sanctuary that actually has brought the sanctuary 00:17:44.79\00:17:47.61 to life for myself and it brings the sanctuary to life 00:17:47.64\00:17:51.81 for other people. 00:17:51.84\00:17:53.76 About ten years ago Oklahoma Academy 00:17:53.79\00:17:56.09 decided to make its focus mission. 00:17:56.12\00:18:00.07 So not only do they get a academic background 00:18:00.10\00:18:03.36 and they get they opportunity to be prepared to go to college 00:18:03.39\00:18:06.17 but we really wanted all of our students to mission focused. 00:18:06.20\00:18:09.71 We wanted all of our students to have that as 00:18:09.74\00:18:12.89 one of their goals in their lives is to reach out to others. 00:18:12.92\00:18:16.02 And so Messiah's Mansion is especially 00:18:16.05\00:18:20.04 important in that goal and is a tool and a vehicle 00:18:20.07\00:18:24.61 that we're using in order to accomplish that 00:18:24.64\00:18:27.19 and its a very effective one because the students 00:18:27.22\00:18:30.34 are constantly reminded of their purpose of why they're there 00:18:30.37\00:18:33.80 throughout they are to help people 00:18:33.83\00:18:35.48 and to reach them with-with truth. 00:18:35.51\00:18:38.31 And the sanctuary truth is present truth 00:18:38.34\00:18:40.80 that everyone needs to hear. 00:18:40.83\00:18:42.75 And so the students are really having 00:18:42.78\00:18:45.05 an opportunity to be on the frontline 00:18:45.08\00:18:47.08 of sharing this truth in a mission aspect 00:18:47.11\00:18:49.99 through Messiah's Mansion. 00:18:50.02\00:18:52.28 From the very beginning it gave students the opportunity, 00:18:52.31\00:18:55.89 you know, to be able to study it a class 00:18:55.92\00:18:58.86 and then go out and give tours. 00:18:58.89\00:19:00.47 You know, so in 2003 when I came to Oklahoma Academy 00:19:00.50\00:19:03.94 I was able to go to you know, one of the first exhibits 00:19:03.97\00:19:06.90 that I traveled to which was at my dads church. 00:19:06.93\00:19:09.72 And so I was able to as a freshman give tours of it then 00:19:09.75\00:19:13.40 but you know of course then I when I went on to college and 00:19:13.43\00:19:15.69 I did some other things. 00:19:15.72\00:19:17.06 About four years ago I came back, you know, 00:19:17.09\00:19:20.17 I still here and something that's very exciting to me- 00:19:20.20\00:19:23.15 you know, its not just for the people 00:19:23.18\00:19:24.87 it changes the students lives as they give the tour 00:19:24.90\00:19:27.51 I've seen it time and time again. 00:19:27.54\00:19:29.34 I think I really love the connection 00:19:29.37\00:19:31.69 with the people of that come for the tours. 00:19:31.72\00:19:34.08 I love seeing God work in such a personal up close way. 00:19:34.11\00:19:39.32 You know, as you go to the tours and 00:19:39.35\00:19:41.71 some times you don't want to do it, 00:19:41.74\00:19:43.11 some times you feel discouraged but no matter what 00:19:43.14\00:19:45.78 you always see God working in a powerful way 00:19:45.81\00:19:47.77 and there is always so many testimonies that you hear. 00:19:47.80\00:19:50.38 It always makes you feel so close and connected to God 00:19:50.41\00:19:52.67 that you're working with Him you know up in the frontline. 00:19:52.70\00:19:57.37 Oh, well this is my sixth exhibit 00:19:57.40\00:20:00.13 and I've been doing it since my freshman year. 00:20:00.16\00:20:02.30 Normally freshman don't go on sanctuary trips, 00:20:02.33\00:20:05.01 it's only the sophomore through seniors. 00:20:05.04\00:20:07.68 But that year the junior class as a whole didn't want to go 00:20:07.71\00:20:10.70 so they made it available to those who wanted to go 00:20:10.73\00:20:13.34 and I ended up signing up and I have to admit though 00:20:13.37\00:20:17.32 on the way there its like, why did I sign up for this? 00:20:17.35\00:20:20.15 I hate talking in front of people, 00:20:20.18\00:20:22.20 I'm very shy but once I started learning the tour and realized 00:20:22.23\00:20:26.26 how important it really is and how amazing it really was. 00:20:26.29\00:20:29.57 I got so excited I learned the whole tour in less than a week 00:20:29.60\00:20:32.76 and I have been a full tour guide ever since. 00:20:32.79\00:20:36.15 For each Messiah's Mansion exhibit 00:20:36.18\00:20:38.55 we have a combination of things that happen. 00:20:38.58\00:20:41.52 We always have the sponsor churches 00:20:41.55\00:20:44.43 come up with at least a half of the cost 00:20:44.46\00:20:46.97 and they always provide allocation. 00:20:47.00\00:20:49.90 This location here in Loveland, Colorado 00:20:49.93\00:20:52.26 we're right next a major highway 00:20:52.29\00:20:55.59 and that is allowing us to have a lot of exposure 00:20:55.62\00:20:59.67 and we really had a great turnout so far. 00:20:59.70\00:21:02.82 Messiah's Mansion is the title of the organization 00:21:02.85\00:21:06.09 and under that- that name we have 00:21:06.12\00:21:08.08 three different full scale models. 00:21:08.11\00:21:10.75 And so it's a traveling ministry just like you know, 00:21:10.78\00:21:14.24 Moses tabernacle traveling and about every two weeks 00:21:14.27\00:21:18.69 we're at a new location you know, 00:21:18.72\00:21:19.98 we've been to over a 100 location so far. 00:21:20.01\00:21:22.22 We start with the premise that most people 00:21:22.25\00:21:25.33 don't have an understanding of, 00:21:25.36\00:21:27.20 you know a heavenly sanctuary and as 00:21:27.23\00:21:30.13 many even though they are Christians don't have 00:21:30.16\00:21:31.63 a firm biblical background. 00:21:31.66\00:21:33.65 And so we start out in the first tent 00:21:33.68\00:21:35.72 introducing them to the idea of a heavenly sanctuary. 00:21:35.75\00:21:38.92 Messiah's Mansion is a free exhibit so people that come 00:21:38.95\00:21:42.29 will get a free tour and they're able to hear that 00:21:42.32\00:21:45.30 end time message present truth for our time 00:21:45.33\00:21:47.19 for the sanctuary message. 00:21:47.22\00:21:48.76 It's really exciting to share that with people because, 00:21:48.79\00:21:50.89 lot of people connect with that. 00:21:50.92\00:21:52.95 In every station of the tour 00:21:52.98\00:21:54.90 really beginning from the courtyard 00:21:54.93\00:21:56.68 will move through you know what are the priests do, 00:21:56.71\00:21:58.63 the facts the furniture, the people and the service. 00:21:58.66\00:22:02.51 But then you know the second layer is 00:22:02.54\00:22:05.69 how did all of this point to Jesus? 00:22:05.72\00:22:08.57 So from the courtyard you move to holy place 00:22:08.60\00:22:12.15 and you see the priestly duties in there again 00:22:12.18\00:22:15.78 followed by Christ's work in the heavenly sanctuary 00:22:15.81\00:22:18.14 and this is where for most Christians 00:22:18.17\00:22:20.00 it's a new idea for them, you know, 00:22:20.03\00:22:22.04 Christ in the heavenly sanctuary. 00:22:22.07\00:22:23.18 They know about Him as the Lamb of God, 00:22:23.21\00:22:25.27 but now they're seeing Him you know and His ministry 00:22:25.30\00:22:27.28 in heaven in the holy place. 00:22:27.31\00:22:28.87 And you know then of course you move around 00:22:28.90\00:22:31.33 to the most holy place where you know we see Christ work today. 00:22:31.36\00:22:35.63 And you'll see prophecies that are pointing to Jesus, 00:22:35.66\00:22:39.15 move into the most holy place and you know a lot of people 00:22:39.18\00:22:41.89 for them, you know, they come out I never knew this. 00:22:41.92\00:22:43.92 I didn't even know that was in the Bible. 00:22:43.95\00:22:45.48 I say its a eye opening experience 00:22:45.51\00:22:47.69 for the lot of people. 00:22:47.72\00:22:50.09 The most holy place that's the-that's the place 00:22:50.12\00:22:52.73 where I see God working the most, you know, 00:22:52.76\00:22:54.39 I've seen people struggle, 00:22:54.42\00:22:56.03 I've seen them battle in their hearts, 00:22:56.06\00:22:57.87 you know, on their face as they are just listening 00:22:57.90\00:22:59.88 and some times you can tell they don't want to accept 00:22:59.91\00:23:01.67 but that's where I just keep praying 00:23:01.70\00:23:03.39 because I know-I know that's the message for today. 00:23:03.42\00:23:07.38 The students are going constantly 00:23:07.41\00:23:09.06 in and out of prayer chant 00:23:09.09\00:23:10.12 we have a prayer chant at each sanctuary 00:23:10.15\00:23:13.08 and the students go in before their tours, 00:23:13.11\00:23:15.18 they're going after their tours. 00:23:15.21\00:23:16.77 Satan is constantly attacking Messiah's Mansion 00:23:16.80\00:23:20.27 from every angle because he does not 00:23:20.30\00:23:22.66 want this work to get through. 00:23:22.69\00:23:24.30 There's people praying for us all throughout the tour, 00:23:24.33\00:23:26.34 we pray throughout the tour 00:23:26.37\00:23:27.81 and I think it's that constant prayer 00:23:27.84\00:23:29.76 that you know keeps us in a good spirit. 00:23:29.79\00:23:32.67 Because Satan does attack, you know, 00:23:32.70\00:23:33.93 he is not happy with us doing this. 00:23:33.96\00:23:35.75 And it really matures the students and they mature 00:23:35.78\00:23:39.55 in the right direction towards God 00:23:39.58\00:23:42.23 and towards their experience with Him. 00:23:42.26\00:23:44.86 From all throughout time you know there's been- 00:23:44.89\00:23:48.20 there's been important messages you know, 00:23:48.23\00:23:50.09 Noah's message was important you know, 00:23:50.12\00:23:52.72 John the Baptist's message 00:23:52.75\00:23:53.96 that Jesus was there was important. 00:23:53.99\00:23:56.06 But today, you know, the message that's important 00:23:56.09\00:23:58.64 is that Jesus is finishing the work in heaven 00:23:58.67\00:24:00.95 and you know that, it's a time for you know us 00:24:00.98\00:24:04.27 give our whole hearts to Him like never before 00:24:04.30\00:24:06.90 so that He can do the work not just in heaven 00:24:06.93\00:24:09.16 but in our own parts. 00:24:09.19\00:24:10.83 When people go through this, 00:24:10.86\00:24:13.10 they can't remember everything we cover 00:24:13.13\00:24:14.80 but what they do remember is they liked it, it was good 00:24:14.83\00:24:17.11 and so they have a positive association with this. 00:24:17.14\00:24:19.86 And one of our main goals is to be able to 00:24:19.89\00:24:23.51 link up some of the locals churches 00:24:23.54\00:24:25.74 with you know these people who are signing up 00:24:25.77\00:24:27.93 for more studies, so that they can continue to study 00:24:27.96\00:24:30.63 and see it from the Bible as a slower pace for themselves. 00:24:30.66\00:24:35.17 People are coming to the sanctuary 00:24:35.20\00:24:36.82 to learn about the sanctuary message 00:24:36.85\00:24:39.17 and this is something that is unique to our church. 00:24:39.20\00:24:42.46 And if our church does not understand this message 00:24:42.49\00:24:46.31 then you know who is going be sharing it with the world, 00:24:46.34\00:24:48.81 this is one of the best kept secrets in the Bible. 00:24:48.84\00:24:52.98 And you know lot of people can get confused about it, 00:24:53.01\00:24:55.49 they need someone to actually show them 00:24:55.52\00:24:57.30 what are the symbolism is in sanctuary 00:24:57.33\00:24:59.72 and it's so cool to see how everything 00:24:59.75\00:25:01.50 in the Bible fits perfectly into the sanctuary message. 00:25:01.53\00:25:04.99 And we as a church need to be studying this message 00:25:05.02\00:25:08.12 and we need to be able to present it 00:25:08.15\00:25:10.42 to those around us who, you know, 00:25:10.45\00:25:13.03 are not in the church or are new in our church 00:25:13.06\00:25:16.07 and so because it's every important doctrine that we hold. 00:25:16.10\00:25:20.14 I was giving a tour to a school group that came 00:25:20.17\00:25:23.60 through as a bunch of, you know, teenagers you know, 00:25:23.63\00:25:26.23 my peers and I am very they extroverted 00:25:26.26\00:25:29.06 so I feed off the energy that in my tour 00:25:29.09\00:25:32.10 and I wasn't getting that much response 00:25:32.13\00:25:34.41 and I was feeling very, very discouraged. 00:25:34.44\00:25:36.15 I was just praying I said God, you know, 00:25:36.18\00:25:37.81 I need encouragement and then as I left the most holy station, 00:25:37.84\00:25:41.32 the most holy place station in the tour 00:25:41.35\00:25:44.24 I had an older lady come up to me 00:25:44.27\00:25:46.15 and she had tears in her eyes. 00:25:46.18\00:25:48.12 And she was just saying you have blessed me so much 00:25:48.15\00:25:50.77 and I was just praising God because it reminded her 00:25:50.80\00:25:53.73 about how much Jesus was important in her life 00:25:53.76\00:25:56.23 and it reminder her that. 00:25:56.26\00:25:57.77 We don't have time to waste on this earth 00:25:57.80\00:25:59.46 because Jesus coming soon. 00:25:59.49\00:26:00.76 And I was able to go into the last station 00:26:00.79\00:26:02.75 just praising God that He gave me that encouragement 00:26:02.78\00:26:05.64 that even though I wasn't getting the response that 00:26:05.67\00:26:07.58 that's not what mattered it mattered that 00:26:07.61\00:26:09.44 God was still using me to-to touch even one person's heart 00:26:09.47\00:26:12.73 and I was able to talk with her after the tour 00:26:12.76\00:26:14.51 and we're both in tears and just praising God about 00:26:14.54\00:26:17.26 how much He was able to work through that tour. 00:26:17.29\00:26:20.88 You know, there is people who come through 00:26:20.91\00:26:22.73 who haven't been the church in years 00:26:22.76\00:26:24.94 and may be have never been the church, 00:26:24.97\00:26:26.22 and wouldn't go to church. 00:26:26.25\00:26:28.40 But in the setting like this you know, 00:26:28.43\00:26:30.44 they come through and you know, 00:26:30.47\00:26:32.61 their hearts are touched and they go away and you know 00:26:32.64\00:26:35.33 some of them say, you know, what church do you go to? 00:26:35.36\00:26:37.79 I want to go to your church. 00:26:37.82\00:26:39.21 You know, atheists come through, you know, 00:26:39.24\00:26:42.03 who didn't have, you know, anything to do with Christians. 00:26:42.06\00:26:45.05 And an experience comes to my mind you know, 00:26:45.08\00:26:47.99 a couple of years ago an atheist came through 00:26:48.02\00:26:51.74 and you know at the end of it he let me know through the tour 00:26:51.77\00:26:56.35 that he could not stand Christians. 00:26:56.38\00:26:59.87 You know, some of them are hypocritical 00:26:59.90\00:27:01.91 but some of them are just unreasonable 00:27:01.94\00:27:04.29 but as we went trough the tour 00:27:04.32\00:27:06.66 at the end of it he invited me to come to his house 00:27:06.69\00:27:08.70 and have dinner with him because he said, 00:27:08.73\00:27:09.90 we need to talk more about these things. 00:27:09.93\00:27:11.40 You know, it provides an opportunity where people can, 00:27:11.43\00:27:15.00 you know, see what Jesus is doing today 00:27:15.03\00:27:17.46 in a setting that you know they will feel comfortable 00:27:17.49\00:27:20.12 and you know people need to understand 00:27:20.15\00:27:22.71 not only Jesus died or what He's doing today 00:27:22.74\00:27:25.95 and I think it's very relevant for every single human being 00:27:25.98\00:27:29.48 alive on planet earth today. 00:27:29.51\00:27:31.33 Oklahoma Academy instills in its students 00:27:36.76\00:27:40.58 both the ability to think for themselves 00:27:40.61\00:27:43.23 as well as a commitment to mission service. 00:27:43.26\00:27:46.56 Perhaps, you know of the student 00:27:46.59\00:27:48.53 that would benefit from a program like this.
