How are you doing? 00:02:48.96\00:02:50.40 I'm doing very well. Thanks. 00:02:50.43\00:02:51.83 You look bubbly. 00:02:51.87\00:02:54.70 Very happy. 00:02:54.74\00:02:56.07 Yeah, I didn't tell. 00:02:56.10\00:02:57.54 Well, you were happy when you got here? 00:02:57.57\00:02:59.37 I was happy because I really expected a trust 00:02:59.41\00:03:01.78 that God had led me here that this was the place for me. 00:03:01.81\00:03:05.61 And so you did that trust, you came here. 00:03:05.65\00:03:10.72 Has it met your expectations? 00:03:10.75\00:03:12.49 Oh, absolutely. 00:03:12.52\00:03:14.66 Even exceeded a bit. 00:03:14.69\00:03:16.46 I had a lot of goals when I first came. 00:03:16.49\00:03:18.83 I wanted to kind of get my life back in order. 00:03:18.86\00:03:21.73 I felt like it had gotten... 00:03:21.76\00:03:23.53 My life was good, 00:03:23.57\00:03:24.90 but it felt like it was kind of chaotic in my sleep habits, 00:03:24.93\00:03:27.87 my eating habits and just all sorts of things. 00:03:27.90\00:03:30.91 And honestly, 00:03:30.94\00:03:32.97 just to come here in this beautiful setting, 00:03:33.01\00:03:36.04 surrounded by all these wonderful people 00:03:36.08\00:03:38.48 who are so invested, personally invested in us, 00:03:38.51\00:03:42.38 so kind, loving. 00:03:42.42\00:03:43.75 I mean, really, I can't say enough about the staff here, 00:03:43.79\00:03:46.45 even, you know, the doctors, 00:03:46.49\00:03:47.82 the therapists, the nurses, everyone. 00:03:47.86\00:03:50.46 But I wanted to get my sleep habits in order. 00:03:50.49\00:03:54.03 I wanted to learn how to eat. 00:03:54.06\00:03:59.23 I've been bouncing from diet to diet for years, 00:03:59.27\00:04:02.20 and it would work a little bit, and then I would fail. 00:04:02.24\00:04:06.21 And then, of course, 00:04:06.24\00:04:07.58 I would get really sad about that. 00:04:07.61\00:04:10.11 And I just kept bouncing around. 00:04:10.15\00:04:11.48 I kept praying, "Lord, please will You help me 00:04:11.51\00:04:13.52 figure this out." 00:04:13.55\00:04:15.25 And I really feel that He led me here 00:04:15.28\00:04:17.02 and it has just really changed 00:04:17.05\00:04:21.66 how I think about everything. 00:04:21.69\00:04:23.02 And I never thought vegan could taste so good, 00:04:23.06\00:04:27.20 and they've taught us 00:04:27.23\00:04:28.56 how to make all these wonderful recipes. 00:04:28.60\00:04:30.13 And honestly, 00:04:30.17\00:04:31.57 I never want to go back but the classes, 00:04:31.60\00:04:34.44 the lectures that we've had 00:04:34.47\00:04:35.80 are like college level lectures, 00:04:35.84\00:04:37.94 these are not just, 00:04:37.97\00:04:39.47 you know, little tiny presentations 00:04:39.51\00:04:41.81 by some person who decided they could do this 00:04:41.84\00:04:44.71 or who had success on a diet. 00:04:44.75\00:04:46.92 These are doctors teaching these lessons. 00:04:46.95\00:04:49.95 And I have learned so much, my head was spinning at times. 00:04:49.98\00:04:53.52 But another goal I really, really wanted to do 00:04:53.56\00:04:55.86 is because my ankles and my feet have hurt 00:04:55.89\00:04:58.66 so much for so long, 00:04:58.69\00:05:00.73 I couldn't walk very far. 00:05:00.76\00:05:02.10 I might have gotten maybe a 10th of a mile 00:05:02.13\00:05:04.57 and then being exhausted. 00:05:04.60\00:05:06.80 And every time I go somewhere with somebody, 00:05:06.84\00:05:08.84 they have to like, drop me at the front door, 00:05:08.87\00:05:11.51 because I can't walk from 00:05:11.54\00:05:12.91 wherever they were going to park. 00:05:12.94\00:05:15.01 And now I'm over three miles a day. 00:05:15.04\00:05:17.98 Wow. 00:05:18.01\00:05:19.35 And I'm not... 00:05:19.38\00:05:20.92 I mean, I'm not falling apart. 00:05:20.95\00:05:22.62 I can rest a little bit and then I can walk more. 00:05:22.65\00:05:25.85 So, I am really excited about this, 00:05:25.89\00:05:30.19 and I can't wait till people see the difference in me. 00:05:30.23\00:05:33.29 Carol, let's start with the sleep problem you had 00:05:33.33\00:05:37.07 because a lot of our viewers, 00:05:37.10\00:05:39.27 maybe half of them have a problem with sleep. 00:05:39.30\00:05:43.04 Your problem was, 00:05:43.07\00:05:44.87 you didn't sleep or you slept too long. 00:05:44.91\00:05:47.48 You woke up too late or what was that? 00:05:47.51\00:05:50.05 I just could not get out of bed in the morning. 00:05:50.08\00:05:52.48 I just did not want to, everything hurt. 00:05:52.51\00:05:54.55 I just didn't want to get out of bed. 00:05:54.58\00:05:56.62 And then I would get up at the very last minute 00:05:56.65\00:05:59.02 and then rush around to get out of the house on time. 00:05:59.05\00:06:02.22 And then, that starts the chaos of the day, right? 00:06:02.26\00:06:04.46 Yes. 00:06:04.49\00:06:05.83 And then, at night, I come back and I just be so tired 00:06:05.86\00:06:08.13 and I sort of wedge out 00:06:08.16\00:06:09.86 in front of my Netflix or something. 00:06:09.90\00:06:13.07 I just sort of not... 00:06:13.10\00:06:16.40 I didn't have the energy, I didn't have, 00:06:16.44\00:06:18.84 you know, and I would stay up... 00:06:18.87\00:06:20.28 Even though I was tired, 00:06:20.31\00:06:21.64 I would stay up till one or two in the morning. 00:06:21.68\00:06:23.65 And then I wouldn't get enough sleep. 00:06:23.68\00:06:25.21 Wow. 00:06:25.25\00:06:26.58 And then... And now? 00:06:26.61\00:06:27.95 And now I'm going to bed at 9, 9:30 00:06:27.98\00:06:31.35 and I'm getting up at 5:15 or 5:30. 00:06:31.39\00:06:34.36 And I'm feeling really good, and I don't need a nap. 00:06:34.39\00:06:37.36 I'm always wanting a nap, you know, 00:06:37.39\00:06:39.39 but I don't need a nap anymore. 00:06:39.43\00:06:41.10 Praise God. Yeah. 00:06:41.13\00:06:42.93 So you're off all your meds, too? 00:06:42.96\00:06:44.80 No, not completely. 00:06:44.83\00:06:46.20 But only because I promised my cardiologist back home, 00:06:46.23\00:06:49.24 I would wait for a total of 30 days, 00:06:49.27\00:06:51.84 so when we get home, 00:06:51.87\00:06:53.21 we're gonna have a conversation about that 00:06:53.24\00:06:54.81 because my heart has been great. 00:06:54.84\00:06:56.85 And you're off your other medications? 00:06:56.88\00:06:59.65 I only had those medications. 00:06:59.68\00:07:01.55 I didn't really have a lot of medications. 00:07:01.58\00:07:03.52 You didn't. Okay. Yeah. 00:07:03.55\00:07:04.89 Well, that's good. Yeah. 00:07:04.92\00:07:06.25 Yeah. Now, your weight? 00:07:06.29\00:07:07.62 You lost a few pounds. I did, I lost 12 pounds. 00:07:07.66\00:07:10.09 So that's a good start. 00:07:10.13\00:07:11.46 I've been wanting to do that, but now I know how to do it. 00:07:11.49\00:07:13.56 I know the foods to eat. 00:07:13.60\00:07:15.96 And, you know, the thought that occurred to me this morning was 00:07:16.00\00:07:19.17 since I've been bouncing around all these diets 00:07:19.20\00:07:21.94 for so many years, 00:07:21.97\00:07:23.74 and a diet is really a temporary thing. 00:07:23.77\00:07:27.04 And then, you're going to start your life. 00:07:27.08\00:07:30.08 I don't have to ever diet again 00:07:30.11\00:07:32.15 because this is my lifestyle now. 00:07:32.18\00:07:34.68 Yes. I am so excited about that. 00:07:34.72\00:07:36.89 I feel free. Yeah. 00:07:36.92\00:07:39.32 Not bound up by just a list of rules 00:07:39.35\00:07:42.12 that will be for a part time and it's never gonna work. 00:07:42.16\00:07:44.19 It was designed almost to fail. 00:07:44.23\00:07:46.43 So what was your favorite part of the program? 00:07:46.46\00:07:51.30 I think lunch. 00:07:51.33\00:07:53.37 Lunch? Lunch. 00:07:53.40\00:07:55.40 The food in the cafeteria was so good. 00:07:55.44\00:07:57.47 Now, I can't really put my finger on one favorite thing 00:07:57.51\00:08:00.68 because I loved getting together 00:08:00.71\00:08:03.35 with all the other, people came. 00:08:03.38\00:08:04.85 That was fun. 00:08:04.88\00:08:06.21 People from all over the place, all over the country came here. 00:08:06.25\00:08:09.32 Some all over the world. I love the cooking classes. 00:08:09.35\00:08:11.39 They were wonderful and really instructive. 00:08:11.42\00:08:14.56 I love the lectures, even though, 00:08:14.59\00:08:16.66 you know, some of it was over my head, 00:08:16.69\00:08:19.03 even though the doctors would go into really 00:08:19.06\00:08:21.06 the medical scientific background, I think, 00:08:21.10\00:08:23.33 "Oh, dear," but then they always say, 00:08:23.37\00:08:25.40 and therefore this is what it means, 00:08:25.43\00:08:27.04 you know, and they would always bring it back to that. 00:08:27.07\00:08:28.80 So I really feel like I've learned a lot. 00:08:28.84\00:08:31.57 It's changed my opinion 00:08:31.61\00:08:33.31 of a lot of things that I was doing. 00:08:33.34\00:08:34.74 What about the fresh start in the morning? 00:08:34.78\00:08:36.95 Oh, that was wonderful. 00:08:36.98\00:08:38.51 It was wonderful. 00:08:38.55\00:08:39.88 We would be singing these beautiful hymns. 00:08:39.91\00:08:42.62 And then we would have this really deep Bible study, 00:08:42.65\00:08:47.72 every morning, and it was wonderful. 00:08:47.76\00:08:49.09 We had a great pastor leading that. 00:08:49.12\00:08:51.86 That was great. 00:08:51.89\00:08:54.06 Yeah. Yeah. 00:08:54.10\00:08:55.70 So, your favorite part was lunch? 00:08:55.73\00:08:58.63 I don't know, that just came out. 00:08:58.67\00:09:00.07 Now I know. 00:09:00.10\00:09:01.44 I think they're all my favorite parts, really. 00:09:01.47\00:09:03.71 I didn't have any favorite part. 00:09:03.74\00:09:05.11 I loved it all. Yeah. 00:11:13.50\00:11:16.37 Loving people through the Bible. 00:11:16.40\00:11:18.57 Yeah. She... 00:11:18.61\00:11:20.08 That came out during the interview with her. 00:11:20.11\00:11:23.61 But she's lost some weight. Yeah. 00:11:23.65\00:11:26.05 She came here to lose weight and clean up her act. 00:11:26.08\00:11:29.78 Now she's sleeping for the first time in years. 00:11:29.82\00:11:35.19 And I think that's miracle. Good deep sleep. 00:11:35.22\00:11:37.49 Yes. 00:11:37.53\00:11:38.96 Why is that? 00:11:38.99\00:11:40.33 The other thing that today she said, 00:11:40.36\00:11:42.06 I don't have any pain in my feet. 00:11:42.10\00:11:44.87 And I don't have any pain in my ankles 00:11:44.90\00:11:47.04 and today is the first day that happened. 00:11:47.07\00:11:50.64 That's because of the plant based foods. 00:11:50.67\00:11:54.24 That's known, it's in the literature. 00:11:54.28\00:11:56.61 Tufts University says that 00:11:56.64\00:11:59.18 if you eat the plant based fats, 00:11:59.21\00:12:01.82 it decreases the inflammation. 00:12:01.85\00:12:04.35 We know that, but does it also make you sleep better? 00:12:04.39\00:12:09.46 Well, you know, if you're not having pain, 00:12:09.49\00:12:11.16 that's a long ways down the street. 00:12:11.19\00:12:13.40 Yeah. Yeah. 00:12:13.43\00:12:14.86 Yeah, yeah. 00:12:14.90\00:12:16.23 You see the thing that is so interesting to me, 00:12:16.26\00:12:20.57 as she said... 00:12:20.60\00:12:23.67 And I can't believe this. 00:12:23.71\00:12:26.57 But there really isn't much of anything that you can do, 00:12:26.61\00:12:30.75 when you get this massive edema in your legs, 00:12:30.78\00:12:34.28 they have to wrap them. 00:12:34.32\00:12:35.95 And she's had to wrap her legs every day for 10 years. 00:12:35.98\00:12:41.36 That gets old after the first week. 00:12:41.39\00:12:43.96 No, absolutely. 00:12:43.99\00:12:45.39 So, anyway, it was really funny because the other day, 00:12:45.43\00:12:50.37 I think it was on the second visit, 00:12:50.40\00:12:52.87 she said, "Doctor, I want to tell you something." 00:12:52.90\00:12:56.40 I can see space between my toes. 00:12:56.44\00:13:01.64 And she was just bubbling over because she didn't, you know, 00:13:01.68\00:13:05.75 she didn't think that she'd be able to get away 00:13:05.78\00:13:08.42 but 10 years every morning get up 00:13:08.45\00:13:10.99 wrap, wrap, wrap, wrap, wrap. 00:13:11.02\00:13:13.12 Terrible. 00:13:13.15\00:13:14.52 Yeah, so she did that and then she... 00:13:14.56\00:13:17.43 You know, with the pain and so forth, 00:13:17.46\00:13:19.36 she couldn't walk but I, 00:13:19.39\00:13:21.66 you know, I challenged her 00:13:21.70\00:13:24.17 and I said something about walking a mile, 00:13:24.20\00:13:26.00 and she kinda like... 00:13:26.03\00:13:27.60 And then I said, yeah, and then, next week, 00:13:27.64\00:13:30.51 you should be walking two, you know. 00:13:30.54\00:13:32.91 And she told me today that she did the three. 00:13:32.94\00:13:35.48 Yes. 00:13:35.51\00:13:36.85 And she was just beaming, you know, 00:13:36.88\00:13:38.98 and so happy about everything. 00:13:39.01\00:13:41.98 You know, to find that she could eat two meals a day, 00:13:42.02\00:13:45.62 really, really enjoy it... 00:13:45.65\00:13:47.89 And not be hungry. 00:13:47.92\00:13:49.26 Yeah, and not be hungry between meals, and, 00:13:49.29\00:13:52.49 so these are the kind of things that keeps us going. 00:13:52.53\00:13:56.23 You know, she said also back to walking. 00:13:56.26\00:14:00.10 That, when she got here, 00:14:00.14\00:14:01.47 she could always only walk about a 10th of a mile. 00:14:01.50\00:14:04.91 Yeah. 00:14:04.94\00:14:06.27 And gradually built up to three miles in a day. 00:14:06.31\00:14:09.54 Yeah. She was... That's big. 00:14:09.58\00:14:11.31 She was just excited 00:14:11.35\00:14:12.95 when she saw me and she said I did it. 00:14:12.98\00:14:15.05 Yeah. 00:14:15.08\00:14:16.45 So, is Carol gonna be one of those 00:14:16.48\00:14:19.55 that stick to the program do you suppose? 00:14:19.59\00:14:22.49 We're not gonna let her get away. 00:14:22.52\00:14:26.63 Well, you know, with Daniel Murawski. 00:14:26.66\00:14:31.73 Yeah? 00:14:31.77\00:14:33.57 When he came here, he said, "Hey, 00:14:33.60\00:14:35.94 what you've been here 30 years, Doc, what do you really need?" 00:14:35.97\00:14:40.04 And I said, "We have to be able to follow the people up 00:14:40.08\00:14:44.88 that want to be followed up." 00:14:44.91\00:14:46.55 Yes. And he's setting it up. 00:14:46.58\00:14:47.92 But, I mean, 00:14:47.95\00:14:50.09 I used to give them calendars and maybe in a group of, 00:14:50.12\00:14:54.42 you know, 18 to 25, 00:14:54.46\00:14:57.43 I might get one out of the whole group 00:14:57.46\00:14:59.29 and that's like journaling, and I'm thinking, 00:14:59.33\00:15:04.20 they paid their money, they came here, 00:15:04.23\00:15:05.83 they took their time and everything. 00:15:05.87\00:15:07.70 Why can't they make it all the way to the post office 00:15:07.74\00:15:11.54 with an envelope and a stamp on it and the... 00:15:11.57\00:15:14.58 in the aid we calendar 00:15:14.61\00:15:15.94 and tell me how they're doing but... 00:15:15.98\00:15:18.95 I did that for a long time. 00:15:18.98\00:15:20.75 I did, I filled out those calendars. 00:15:20.78\00:15:23.62 I never send them in. I just stack them up. 00:15:23.65\00:15:26.39 Yeah, I have a lady the other day 00:15:26.42\00:15:27.82 when I was talking to the researcher here, 00:15:27.86\00:15:31.29 this was Nedley. 00:15:31.33\00:15:32.86 And she called up and so I said, 00:15:32.89\00:15:36.06 "Just wait a minute," because I... 00:15:36.10\00:15:39.07 She does that too. 00:15:39.10\00:15:40.44 She sends me about three or four-minute time. 00:15:40.47\00:15:43.24 But she's... 00:15:43.27\00:15:45.64 The thing is, one of the hardest thing is, 00:15:45.67\00:15:48.51 is it was popular out there, you see. 00:15:48.54\00:15:50.81 Yeah. 00:15:50.85\00:15:52.18 And now coconut oil is a complete pass. 00:15:52.21\00:15:55.15 The stomach when it sends a message over 00:15:58.15\00:16:01.79 to make more cholesterol, 00:16:01.82\00:16:03.76 so as you can add some bile to emulsify the fat, 00:16:03.79\00:16:08.56 the stomach's not watching, 00:16:08.60\00:16:10.57 oh, here comes some mezan oil 00:16:10.60\00:16:13.67 and here comes some triple virgin 00:16:13.70\00:16:15.94 double cold pressed olive oil. 00:16:15.97\00:16:18.74 And, you know, it's just oil is oil, fat is... 00:16:18.77\00:16:22.81 Well, no, fat is usually from animals, 00:16:22.84\00:16:25.18 but, you know that. 00:16:25.21\00:16:27.55 It's really surprising. 00:16:27.58\00:16:28.92 And then there's always a study that shows it 00:16:28.95\00:16:31.59 something's good that does the same thing 00:16:31.62\00:16:34.59 that the others do. 00:16:34.62\00:16:36.26 But it's not the saturated fat and the animal fats 00:16:36.29\00:16:39.83 cause a lot of irritation. 00:16:39.86\00:16:41.90 We're running out of time, Doc. 00:16:41.93\00:16:43.53 Thank you. 00:16:43.57\00:16:44.90 God bless you and your ministry. 00:16:44.93\00:16:47.10 Thank you, friends. 00:16:47.14\00:16:48.47 But don't go away 00:16:48.50\00:16:49.84 because Pastor Damon Snead is up next. 00:16:49.87\00:16:52.01 Welcome back, friends. Help me welcome Pastor Snead. 00:16:55.04\00:16:58.05 How are you, Brother? I'm doing great, Brother. 00:16:58.08\00:17:00.22 Good to see you. Thank you. 00:17:00.25\00:17:02.18 Well, you know, 00:17:02.22\00:17:04.75 I just gotta say this, 00:17:04.79\00:17:07.16 that it seems like we get a lot of people here 00:17:07.19\00:17:11.69 who are suffering the loss 00:17:11.73\00:17:14.93 of a spouse, 00:17:14.96\00:17:17.30 or a family member, a child, 00:17:17.33\00:17:20.00 or father or whatever the case may be. 00:17:20.04\00:17:22.74 And that seems to be what's going on with Carol. 00:17:22.77\00:17:26.07 It's been some time. 00:17:26.11\00:17:28.44 But how is she doing spiritually? 00:17:28.48\00:17:32.05 Spiritually, she's another one that came here 00:17:32.08\00:17:34.95 buzzing on another level. 00:17:34.98\00:17:36.95 And she's got a tragic story. 00:17:36.99\00:17:39.82 You know, she's suffering from a disease 00:17:39.85\00:17:43.63 and she lost her husband, 00:17:43.66\00:17:45.29 but that drove her out of her religion of birth 00:17:45.33\00:17:50.30 into this search, 00:17:50.33\00:17:51.67 where she's looking, looking, searching, looking. 00:17:51.70\00:17:54.30 She's lost her husband. 00:17:54.34\00:17:55.77 She's looking for God in deeper and deeper ways. 00:17:55.80\00:17:58.91 I just think that's so important 00:17:58.94\00:18:00.28 when people are suffering when they've lost someone, 00:18:00.31\00:18:02.74 a lot of times they try to go out 00:18:02.78\00:18:04.15 and get into another relationship 00:18:04.18\00:18:05.71 or they get involved with this or other things. 00:18:05.75\00:18:08.62 And it just leads to emptiness and unfulfillment, 00:18:08.65\00:18:11.69 but she's doing what you were supposed to do, 00:18:11.72\00:18:14.49 taking that opportunity 00:18:14.52\00:18:15.99 and using it to find God in deeper ways. 00:18:16.02\00:18:19.49 And, of course, she did. 00:18:19.53\00:18:20.86 She ends up in ministry. 00:18:20.90\00:18:23.03 She's very influential where she's at 00:18:23.06\00:18:25.53 and helping other women, 00:18:25.57\00:18:26.90 women's ministries, what she's actually into. 00:18:26.94\00:18:29.27 And she's got a great story to help other women 00:18:29.30\00:18:32.11 and other people get through loss 00:18:32.14\00:18:34.14 and grief and suffering. 00:18:34.18\00:18:35.54 And, so she's got this wonderful ministry, 00:18:35.58\00:18:38.75 but that wasn't all 00:18:38.78\00:18:40.35 that she was actually looking for needed. 00:18:40.38\00:18:43.59 Right. 00:18:43.62\00:18:44.95 And so she's here, 00:18:44.99\00:18:46.65 and she's finding what she was looking for. 00:18:46.69\00:18:48.79 Yeah. 00:18:48.82\00:18:50.16 And I see her opening up more and more and more. 00:18:50.19\00:18:53.06 Thanks to your message. And thanks to your counsel. 00:18:53.09\00:18:56.80 I know God has blessed you in a mighty way. 00:18:56.83\00:18:59.90 Nonetheless, you have a tremendous responsibility. 00:18:59.93\00:19:04.11 And I praise God 00:19:04.14\00:19:07.04 that He's able to enlighten this campus. 00:19:07.08\00:19:10.65 Well, you know, 00:19:10.68\00:19:12.58 and I know that from talking to her, 00:19:12.61\00:19:14.12 she's received the gospel in deeper way. 00:19:14.15\00:19:18.29 But what I think she came here looking for, 00:19:18.32\00:19:20.06 and what she expressed to me was 00:19:20.09\00:19:21.86 the connection of health to her gospel, 00:19:21.89\00:19:25.89 the improvement of the body, 00:19:25.93\00:19:27.66 she starts, she said, I get it. 00:19:27.70\00:19:29.56 I understand that better health 00:19:29.60\00:19:33.00 is part of God's gospel plan for me. 00:19:33.03\00:19:35.57 It's not the gospel, 00:19:35.60\00:19:37.64 but it is part of God's desire to heal us. 00:19:37.67\00:19:41.91 Because the better you feel, the clearer the mind is, 00:19:41.94\00:19:46.21 the more receptive ability we have, 00:19:46.25\00:19:49.05 and we teach that to God 00:19:49.08\00:19:51.19 and she's catching that, 00:19:51.22\00:19:52.55 she's picking up on that, 00:19:52.59\00:19:53.92 and she's excited now about the health message 00:19:53.96\00:19:56.62 and now she wants to add that to her ministry, 00:19:56.66\00:19:59.59 it help other people overcome their health issues. 00:19:59.63\00:20:03.06 You know, when I read... Paul said, 00:20:03.10\00:20:06.60 in so many ways, or I'll paraphrase, 00:20:06.63\00:20:10.24 "Don't you know that this body 00:20:10.27\00:20:11.77 is the temple of the Holy Spirit." 00:20:11.81\00:20:14.08 And I truly know that 00:20:14.11\00:20:15.54 and I've witnessed that and I see it, 00:20:15.58\00:20:17.78 not just for myself when I came here 13 years ago, 00:20:17.81\00:20:21.75 very, very sick man. 00:20:21.78\00:20:23.85 And I've lost all this weight and diabetes known. 00:20:23.89\00:20:27.32 And so, this is where I found Christ. 00:20:27.36\00:20:30.66 And it keeps going into deeper waters 00:20:30.69\00:20:34.63 as you put it. 00:20:34.66\00:20:36.00 I was like, when I was baptized, 00:20:36.03\00:20:37.87 I was ankle deep. 00:20:37.90\00:20:39.53 And now I'm up in knees 00:20:39.57\00:20:41.04 and you've got me down in the deep water. 00:20:41.07\00:20:43.24 It's coming up to my neck. 00:20:43.27\00:20:45.14 I'm about to be submerged once again. 00:20:45.17\00:20:48.04 And it's just a great feeling. 00:20:48.08\00:20:50.15 And I welcome and I'm glad to see 00:20:50.18\00:20:52.35 that our guests who come here 00:20:52.38\00:20:54.48 can not only grow physically 00:20:54.52\00:20:57.09 and get well physically but spiritually. 00:20:57.12\00:20:59.72 Sure. 00:20:59.75\00:21:01.09 In all, I've given her some great ideas 00:21:01.12\00:21:03.49 to even go deeper with God 00:21:03.53\00:21:05.26 and she's one of these 00:21:05.29\00:21:06.63 that will mine out that rich ore 00:21:06.66\00:21:09.36 and dig down deeper, 00:21:09.40\00:21:11.13 both in spiritual ways. 00:21:11.17\00:21:12.67 I've given her new concepts to look into 00:21:12.70\00:21:17.41 and also with her health. 00:21:17.44\00:21:19.34 And these two things are gonna work together 00:21:19.37\00:21:20.94 and she's gonna be a force to contend 00:21:20.98\00:21:23.45 with wherever she goes, she's gonna do great. 00:21:23.48\00:21:26.98 She's a junior pastor, is she? 00:21:27.02\00:21:28.88 She's some kind of a pastor or minister in the church 00:21:28.92\00:21:32.45 in this nondenominational church 00:21:32.49\00:21:35.82 where she's at. 00:21:35.86\00:21:37.19 Good for her. Good for her. 00:21:37.23\00:21:38.56 I know she'll have a lot of juice 00:21:38.59\00:21:40.43 to take back to that. 00:21:40.46\00:21:41.80 Oh, yeah, yeah. Yeah. 00:21:41.83\00:21:43.60 Guess what? We're out of time right now. 00:21:43.63\00:21:47.00 Good to talk with you. All right. 00:21:47.04\00:21:48.40 God bless you and your ministry. 00:21:48.44\00:21:50.54 Don't go away, Dr. Nedley and Dr. Ramirez up next. 00:21:50.57\00:21:54.14 Welcome to Weimar Institute Research. 00:22:30.81\00:22:33.52 And today, we have a study 00:22:33.55\00:22:35.98 that was actually designed and carried out 00:22:36.02\00:22:38.89 by Dr. Ramirez himself, 00:22:38.92\00:22:41.09 the Director of Weimar Institute Research, 00:22:41.12\00:22:44.13 and also very involved in the Weimar College 00:22:44.16\00:22:47.43 in teaching research. 00:22:47.46\00:22:49.60 Now Dr. Ramirez, a lot of the studies, 00:22:49.63\00:22:51.77 you're analyzing data 00:22:51.80\00:22:54.70 from multiple countries. 00:22:54.74\00:22:57.31 But this is actually a group 00:22:57.34\00:22:59.17 that you, yourself were involved in. 00:22:59.21\00:23:01.58 Tell us a little bit about this group? 00:23:01.61\00:23:03.14 That's right. 00:23:03.18\00:23:04.51 The students were able to get a hold of this data 00:23:04.55\00:23:06.25 and help publish this paper. 00:23:06.28\00:23:09.08 And the focus of this study was 00:23:09.12\00:23:12.15 what happens when you get the NEWSTART principles 00:23:12.19\00:23:15.02 and you teach them in a community setting. 00:23:15.06\00:23:17.49 Okay. 00:23:17.53\00:23:18.86 Now, NEWSTART is well-known 00:23:18.89\00:23:20.23 to have its residential lifestyle program. 00:23:20.26\00:23:22.86 And we have published a lot 00:23:22.90\00:23:24.40 in regards to the improvement in lipids 00:23:24.43\00:23:27.14 and many other health parameters 00:23:27.17\00:23:28.84 by spending 19 days with us here at NEWSTART. 00:23:28.87\00:23:32.94 But this is taking a look 00:23:32.97\00:23:34.31 at an intensive community program 00:23:34.34\00:23:37.25 where they're not having to live here. 00:23:37.28\00:23:38.78 That's right. 00:23:38.81\00:23:40.15 And so did you feed them like we do here in NEWSTART? 00:23:40.18\00:23:42.35 No, not necessarily. 00:23:42.38\00:23:43.72 I just went, this was a Sunday church, 00:23:43.75\00:23:45.32 a nondenominational church, 00:23:45.35\00:23:46.69 a pastor invited me to go to this church. 00:23:46.72\00:23:49.02 There were many health issues in that church, 00:23:49.06\00:23:51.19 and he said, "Could you help us improve our health?" 00:23:51.23\00:23:54.10 So the pastor himself, as a result of this program, 00:23:54.13\00:23:57.73 became a full plant based person. 00:23:57.77\00:24:00.57 And the participants of this study 00:24:00.60\00:24:04.61 were enthusiastic. 00:24:04.64\00:24:06.01 It was a senior population, most of them. 00:24:06.04\00:24:09.84 And I remember one of them. 00:24:09.88\00:24:11.81 He came and talked to me and said, 00:24:11.85\00:24:13.35 "Look, my wife brought me to this two-week program. 00:24:13.38\00:24:16.15 Forget it. 00:24:16.18\00:24:17.52 I'm not going to change my diet." 00:24:17.55\00:24:19.52 At the end of the two weeks, he came to apologize. 00:24:19.55\00:24:21.72 "I'm sorry that I told you that. 00:24:21.76\00:24:23.09 We decided to switch our diet to a vegan diet. 00:24:23.12\00:24:26.26 We went to the shelter 00:24:26.29\00:24:27.63 and gave away all our fridge food. 00:24:27.66\00:24:29.06 And we're going to start new with the new diet." 00:24:29.10\00:24:31.43 So it did create long term change. 00:24:31.47\00:24:34.54 Wow, amazing. 00:24:34.57\00:24:35.90 So someone who was very resistant to change, 00:24:35.94\00:24:38.07 as a result of true education actually totally changed 00:24:38.11\00:24:42.71 what they were putting into their mouths 00:24:42.74\00:24:44.61 and ways that they thought they never would. 00:24:44.65\00:24:46.58 And the reason why they were so enthusiastic is that 00:24:46.61\00:24:51.62 at the beginning of the program, 00:24:51.65\00:24:52.99 we took blood samples, 00:24:53.02\00:24:54.89 and their cholesterol was way above 00:24:54.92\00:24:58.06 what should be normal. 00:24:58.09\00:24:59.43 He had a 234 points, 00:24:59.46\00:25:03.13 that cholesterol. 00:25:03.16\00:25:04.83 The guideline says 200, but the ideal should be 150. 00:25:04.87\00:25:08.80 But still, you know, 00:25:08.84\00:25:10.17 that's way above those two guidelines. 00:25:10.21\00:25:12.44 You know, it's interesting. 00:25:12.47\00:25:14.01 Years ago, I remember Dr. Scharfenberg 00:25:14.04\00:25:16.81 talking to a group of pastors who asked him a question. 00:25:16.85\00:25:20.38 How can we get people more interested 00:25:20.42\00:25:22.98 in issues of salvation? 00:25:23.02\00:25:24.92 And he says, "I will tell you, take their blood, 00:25:24.95\00:25:27.76 find out what their cholesterol is, 00:25:27.79\00:25:29.72 give them the result and they will cry out 00:25:29.76\00:25:31.93 what must I do to be saved?" 00:25:31.96\00:25:35.40 And that's exactly what happened. 00:25:35.43\00:25:37.27 They cried out. "What must I do to be saved?" 00:25:37.30\00:25:39.53 And were you able to save them? 00:25:39.57\00:25:41.24 Yes. 00:25:41.27\00:25:42.60 Well, even the LDL, 00:25:42.64\00:25:43.97 very worrisome 147 LDL. 00:25:44.01\00:25:47.91 Very high. 00:25:47.94\00:25:49.28 Some of them taking statins, even with statins, 00:25:49.31\00:25:51.68 they had this type of high levels of cholesterol 00:25:51.71\00:25:54.52 and bad cholesterol. 00:25:54.55\00:25:56.22 And after those two-week, it changed. 00:25:56.25\00:26:00.22 I spoke to them three times before the next blood sample. 00:26:00.26\00:26:04.66 And by the end of that two weeks, 00:26:04.69\00:26:08.50 their cholesterol had got down to 177. 00:26:08.53\00:26:13.40 And also, it went down beyond that 200. 00:26:13.44\00:26:16.87 And their bad cholesterol, 00:26:16.91\00:26:18.54 that LDL cholesterol went down to 122. 00:26:18.57\00:26:23.01 So... 00:26:23.04\00:26:24.38 Those are dramatic differences from 224 to 177, 00:26:24.41\00:26:28.58 in just two weeks, 00:26:28.62\00:26:30.32 with an educational program, 00:26:30.35\00:26:32.39 and their LDLs plummeting from a very high 147, 00:26:32.42\00:26:36.96 where that stroke, heart attack rate 00:26:36.99\00:26:39.29 down to 122 in just two weeks and who knows 00:26:39.33\00:26:42.03 what it would have been at six weeks 00:26:42.06\00:26:44.47 had you measured it? 00:26:44.50\00:26:45.83 And as a result of this action, 00:26:45.87\00:26:47.40 this had a community wide implication. 00:26:47.44\00:26:50.54 I want to talk to the businessman 00:26:50.57\00:26:52.04 and told him, I need you to bring healthy food 00:26:52.07\00:26:53.98 because there was not too many options. 00:26:54.01\00:26:55.78 He didn't believe me. He brought two or three things. 00:26:55.81\00:26:58.08 Bam! People bought these things. 00:26:58.11\00:27:00.28 People got upset with him, 00:27:00.32\00:27:01.65 "Hey, the doctor said 00:27:01.68\00:27:03.02 you're gonna have these things." 00:27:03.05\00:27:04.39 He now knew that this was serious. 00:27:04.42\00:27:06.12 We start stocking up his store with healthy products 00:27:06.15\00:27:09.22 so that people could continue 00:27:09.26\00:27:10.59 with this healthy lifestyle long term. 00:27:10.63\00:27:13.16 It's consumerism that drives the commercial aspect, 00:27:13.19\00:27:16.77 not the other way around. 00:27:16.80\00:27:18.30 And so, yeah, they learned that. 00:27:18.33\00:27:20.84 Now our students at Weimar Institute 00:27:20.87\00:27:22.87 actually took a look at the results 00:27:22.90\00:27:25.31 and compiled them along with yourself. 00:27:25.34\00:27:28.14 And was this published then? 00:27:28.18\00:27:29.78 Yeah, this was actually published 00:27:29.81\00:27:31.88 in an American Heart Association journal 00:27:31.91\00:27:34.28 called Atherosclerosis Thrombosis 00:27:34.32\00:27:36.89 and Vascular Biology Journal. 00:27:36.92\00:27:38.85 Wow. 00:27:38.89\00:27:40.22 Amazing the difference with just health education 00:27:40.26\00:27:43.86 provided by Dr. Eddie Ramirez, 00:27:43.89\00:27:46.73 Director of Research at Weimar Institute. 00:27:46.76\00:27:50.03 And thank you for joining us at Weimar Institute Research. 00:27:50.07\00:27:54.30
