Hi, friends, 00:01:11.73\00:01:13.07 and welcome to another edition of NEWSTART Now. 00:01:13.10\00:01:15.50 I'm your host, Ron Giannoni. 00:01:15.54\00:01:17.84 In our studio we have a lovely lady 00:01:17.87\00:01:20.58 that I want to introduce you to, 00:01:20.61\00:01:22.14 but before I do, 00:01:22.18\00:01:24.11 I want you to watch a clip when she first arrived. 00:01:24.15\00:01:26.78 I came here last year because I have bladder cancer. 00:01:29.98\00:01:35.86 I was diagnosed with bladder cancer. 00:01:35.89\00:01:38.23 And I was told that a place like this 00:01:38.26\00:01:43.83 I could do natural treatments and get some relief. 00:01:43.87\00:01:47.94 And there were other things that I didn't know about 00:01:47.97\00:01:51.97 that I could get 00:01:52.01\00:01:53.51 that I found out afterward. 00:01:53.54\00:01:55.91 So anything else I got after that, 00:01:55.94\00:01:58.05 it was just a sugar on the top as you say. 00:01:58.08\00:02:02.65 I mean, this time I came back to do the fever treatments 00:02:02.68\00:02:07.29 again as opposed to doing the other treatments 00:02:07.32\00:02:12.36 for the cancer 00:02:12.39\00:02:13.73 because this type of cancer recurs very quickly. 00:02:13.76\00:02:17.77 And so is this kind of like 00:02:17.80\00:02:19.53 to add insurance and to also to take a breaking 00:02:19.57\00:02:24.54 and build on what I have learned the first time. 00:02:24.57\00:02:28.14 Every year in America, 00:02:31.65\00:02:32.98 there are over one million deaths 00:02:33.01\00:02:34.35 because of Type 2 diabetes and chronic obesity. 00:02:34.38\00:02:37.19 This includes heart attacks and strokes. 00:02:37.22\00:02:39.55 That's six and a half 747s crashing every day. 00:02:39.59\00:02:43.16 What's even more surprising is that the fix is easy. 00:02:43.19\00:02:46.53 It's your lifestyle. 00:02:46.56\00:02:48.00 Wouldn't it be nice 00:02:48.03\00:02:49.36 if you could actually add quality years to your life 00:02:49.40\00:02:51.33 rather than dying one organ at a time? 00:02:51.37\00:02:54.24 Obesity and diabetes 00:02:54.27\00:02:55.60 are the cause of over million deaths per year. 00:02:55.64\00:02:58.51 Most diseases are reversible 00:02:58.54\00:03:00.61 because most diseases are lifestyle diseases, 00:03:00.64\00:03:03.48 especially Type 2 diabetes and chronic obesity. 00:03:03.51\00:03:06.92 Seriously now, they can be reversed 00:03:06.95\00:03:09.15 and the quality of your life can be renewed. 00:03:09.18\00:03:12.72 Call NEWSTART today at 1-800-525-9192. 00:03:12.75\00:03:18.99 You will see dramatic changes 00:03:19.03\00:03:20.53 in the first few days of our program 00:03:20.56\00:03:22.53 and you'll be on the road 00:03:22.56\00:03:23.90 to a better more robust quality of life. 00:03:23.93\00:03:26.70 The NEWSTART programs are simple and effective. 00:03:26.74\00:03:29.50 Welcome back, friends, help me 00:03:33.58\00:03:35.14 welcome Ronda Badell all the way from... 00:03:35.18\00:03:39.78 Maryland. Fifty pounds. 00:04:09.64\00:04:11.48 Praise God. 00:04:11.51\00:04:12.85 And now up to present day, 00:04:12.88\00:04:16.22 you came here about 17 days ago, 00:04:16.25\00:04:18.95 have you continually lose weight in the session? 00:04:18.99\00:04:21.32 Yes, I have lost a few pounds. 00:04:21.36\00:04:23.19 Okay, good. 00:04:23.22\00:04:24.56 I'm not trying to, but I've lost a few. 00:04:24.59\00:04:28.70 So you came here to assist your husband? 00:04:28.73\00:04:33.47 That's correct. That's correct, right? 00:04:33.50\00:04:34.87 That's correct. 00:04:34.90\00:04:36.24 And so, but then you found out 00:04:36.27\00:04:38.14 that you really needed some treatment? 00:04:38.17\00:04:40.51 That's right. Right. 00:04:40.54\00:04:41.88 Let's talk about that? 00:04:41.91\00:04:43.35 Okay. 00:04:43.38\00:04:45.18 A few days before we were going to come here, 00:04:45.21\00:04:49.08 I found out I had bladder cancer. 00:04:49.12\00:04:51.82 And so we had to postpone... 00:04:51.85\00:04:53.72 Now, a few days, you mean, like a week or...? 00:04:53.76\00:04:56.46 Yes, a week before we were supposed to come in August. 00:04:56.49\00:05:00.16 You wanted to come here 00:05:00.20\00:05:01.53 rather than go for the treatments they get in. 00:05:01.56\00:05:03.16 No, we... 00:05:03.20\00:05:04.67 A week before we were going to come 00:05:04.70\00:05:06.40 when I found out, 00:05:06.43\00:05:07.77 and so we had to postpone, I had surgery in Maryland. 00:05:07.80\00:05:12.51 And then we came 10 days after the surgery. 00:05:12.54\00:05:16.34 Oh, I see, so you postponed the first session. 00:05:16.38\00:05:20.72 And you decided not to come here right away, 00:05:20.75\00:05:22.65 you had to do the surgery, 00:05:22.68\00:05:24.69 then you came during this last session? 00:05:24.72\00:05:27.79 That's right. In September. 00:05:27.82\00:05:29.16 Okay, I'm with it. 00:05:29.19\00:05:30.56 All right, so what's happened now? 00:05:30.59\00:05:33.29 How do you feel? I feel really good now. 00:05:33.33\00:05:36.60 I feel great. 00:05:36.63\00:05:37.97 Ever since following the program 00:05:38.00\00:05:40.44 through the months 00:05:40.47\00:05:41.80 and coming here for follow up treatment. 00:05:41.84\00:05:47.48 I feel great. 00:05:47.51\00:05:48.91 Is anything different in the staff 00:05:48.94\00:05:52.81 or the program 00:05:52.85\00:05:55.82 between September of last year and today? 00:05:55.85\00:05:59.59 Yes, there are some changes. 00:05:59.62\00:06:01.42 But, you know, when you come to a program like this, 00:06:01.46\00:06:04.76 you can't learn everything. 00:06:04.79\00:06:06.43 No, you can't. 00:06:06.46\00:06:07.93 There's so much, and I guess 00:06:07.96\00:06:09.30 I was focused on helping my husband back in September. 00:06:09.33\00:06:12.73 I wasn't focused on me totally. 00:06:12.77\00:06:16.14 And so I'm learning a lot of stuff 00:06:16.17\00:06:17.77 that I hadn't really absorbed I guess before. 00:06:20.84\00:06:24.61 Now this time you received fever treatments? 00:06:24.65\00:06:28.82 That's correct. 00:06:28.85\00:06:30.19 Quickly tell us, what is a fever treatment? 00:06:30.22\00:06:32.69 Well, they put you in a tub of water. 00:06:32.72\00:06:35.32 Hot water, right? Hot water, 109, 110 degrees. 00:06:35.36\00:06:40.83 And you maintain a temperature of about 103 00:06:40.86\00:06:44.47 for at least 20 minutes. 00:06:44.50\00:06:46.10 Do you know why? 00:06:46.13\00:06:47.64 It's to build your immune system, 00:06:47.67\00:06:49.40 to boost immune system 00:06:49.44\00:06:50.91 because the treatments I receive for bladder cancer 00:06:50.94\00:06:55.94 are to boost your immune system. 00:06:55.98\00:06:57.78 And guess what else that does? 00:06:57.81\00:06:59.71 Cancers cannot live in heat. 00:06:59.75\00:07:03.25 So you're raising the body's core temperature 00:07:03.28\00:07:06.42 to 103 for 20-25 minutes. 00:07:06.45\00:07:09.79 And then it not only builds the immune system, it kills, 00:07:09.82\00:07:13.63 it gives the fighter cells a chance to get in there 00:07:13.66\00:07:16.50 and start shooting those cancers cells. 00:07:16.53\00:07:19.17 Yeah, that's awesome. 00:07:19.20\00:07:20.54 How many treatments did you get? 00:07:20.57\00:07:22.07 I've had four so far. 00:07:22.10\00:07:23.51 And I have two more to go. 00:07:23.54\00:07:25.14 Two more, so you had a total of six. 00:07:25.17\00:07:28.11 Two more before I leave. Yes. Great. 00:07:28.14\00:07:30.11 I was hoping that they will give you. 00:07:30.15\00:07:31.98 Yeah. At least that to a week. 00:07:32.01\00:07:35.05 So what was your favorite part of the program? 00:07:35.08\00:07:38.85 You know, my favorite part of the program is 00:07:38.89\00:07:43.89 learning about the different foods. 00:07:43.93\00:07:49.20 It's hard to say what's the most favorite, 00:07:49.23\00:07:51.40 but learning 00:07:51.43\00:07:52.83 the different foods and the walking. 00:07:52.87\00:07:55.14 How far you're walking? 00:07:55.17\00:07:56.57 I'm walking five miles plus a day. 00:07:56.60\00:07:59.17 Wow. 00:07:59.21\00:08:00.54 When you originally got here, you couldn't walk at all. 00:08:00.58\00:08:03.61 I couldn't walk more than a mile if that. 00:08:03.65\00:08:06.72 If that, right. 00:08:06.75\00:08:08.08 Yes, I could not. 00:08:08.12\00:08:10.22 Bad back, bad legs, other issues. 00:08:10.25\00:08:15.49 How's your back holding up? 00:08:15.52\00:08:17.09 You had some back issues? 00:08:17.13\00:08:18.99 Yeah, I still have back issues. 00:08:19.03\00:08:21.43 We did a series of treatments last week that really helped. 00:08:21.46\00:08:25.93 And so I feel a lot better today. 00:08:25.97\00:08:29.24 And they've also given me some tools 00:08:29.27\00:08:31.61 that hopefully I can use 00:08:31.64\00:08:32.97 when I get home to help my back. 00:08:33.01\00:08:36.75 And does the program met your expectations? 00:08:36.78\00:08:41.25 Oh, yes. 00:08:41.28\00:08:42.68 By far. 00:08:42.72\00:08:44.05 Good. It's good to be here. 00:11:18.04\00:11:19.84 And we're going to be talking about Ronda. 00:11:19.87\00:11:24.11 Now, she's a story of someone that, 00:11:24.15\00:11:26.82 that this happens often, 00:11:26.85\00:11:28.38 someone that's in great shape, 00:11:28.42\00:11:30.49 they're really doing well in life, 00:11:30.52\00:11:32.02 they've got everything, all their ducks in a row, 00:11:32.05\00:11:34.76 they're in health, they're running around in life, 00:11:34.79\00:11:36.52 and then everything goes haywire, 00:11:36.56\00:11:39.79 and then things begin to compound 00:11:39.83\00:11:42.30 and compound, 00:11:42.33\00:11:43.67 and before you know it, 00:11:43.70\00:11:45.03 you're in really a life threatening situation. 00:11:45.07\00:11:47.80 Can you tell us a little bit about her today? 00:11:47.84\00:11:49.50 Sure. 00:11:49.54\00:11:50.87 You know, Ronda was an athlete in high school. 00:11:50.91\00:11:53.24 She was either running cross-country or track, 00:11:53.27\00:11:55.68 I'm not sure if I can remember which one, 00:11:55.71\00:11:57.35 but she was in shape, athletic, you know, picture of health. 00:11:57.38\00:12:02.65 Got married, was raising a family. 00:12:05.65\00:12:07.19 I think she actually first went, 00:12:07.22\00:12:09.22 before raising a family went to Africa as a missionary 00:12:09.26\00:12:11.73 if I'm not mistaken along the way 00:12:11.76\00:12:13.66 where I think she may have even met her husband. 00:12:13.70\00:12:16.30 But, so giving person, 00:12:16.33\00:12:18.80 you know, to others working overseas. 00:12:18.83\00:12:24.44 But then comes back, family, things start happening, 00:12:24.47\00:12:29.68 starts to gain weight, starts to have back problems, 00:12:29.71\00:12:33.82 have some chronic pain 00:12:33.85\00:12:35.55 develop and really significant pain. 00:12:35.58\00:12:38.25 I mean difficulty moving etcetera. 00:12:38.29\00:12:42.16 And then all of a sudden, boom, the big C comes along, 00:12:42.19\00:12:46.56 you know, diagnosed with cancer. 00:12:46.59\00:12:51.13 And, you know, there's a lot of people 00:12:51.17\00:12:54.97 who would look at their life 00:12:55.00\00:12:57.51 and so it's, you know, not fair. 00:12:57.54\00:12:59.77 Just give up even at that time. 00:12:59.81\00:13:01.41 Yeah, it's not fair, you know. 00:13:01.44\00:13:02.94 I used to be this, now I'm this, this and this. 00:13:02.98\00:13:06.38 And now I have this. 00:13:06.41\00:13:09.22 And I'm sure our viewers 00:13:09.25\00:13:11.49 can fill in the blanks for themselves 00:13:11.52\00:13:13.69 on what those things are. 00:13:13.72\00:13:16.36 Yeah, she's at a time in life where you're not young, 00:13:16.39\00:13:19.46 but you're not terribly old. 00:13:19.49\00:13:21.03 And so this was a very pivotal point for her. 00:13:21.06\00:13:24.43 Yeah, she was at prime of life really. 00:13:24.47\00:13:26.60 Prime of life. 00:13:26.63\00:13:28.04 Those middle years 00:13:28.07\00:13:29.40 when you should be able to be enjoying, 00:13:29.44\00:13:30.97 seeing your kids, you know, getting into their, 00:13:31.01\00:13:34.18 finishing their school, 00:13:34.21\00:13:36.24 they're getting into their careers, 00:13:36.28\00:13:37.85 starting to enjoy, 00:13:37.88\00:13:39.21 you know, maybe looking for to being a grandparent, 00:13:39.25\00:13:41.32 all of those things. 00:13:41.35\00:13:42.92 Well, you know, she's been here twice, right? 00:13:42.95\00:13:45.35 Was it twice? Yes. 00:13:45.39\00:13:46.72 So when she came back, 00:13:46.76\00:13:48.32 it was noticeable by the end of the second session 00:13:48.36\00:13:51.76 what is it that she did that in your opinion 00:13:51.79\00:13:54.56 that was one of the great things 00:13:54.60\00:13:55.93 that she could do for her health? 00:13:55.96\00:13:57.73 She decided not to let the circumstances dictate 00:13:57.77\00:14:01.37 how she was going to react to it all. 00:14:01.40\00:14:03.20 And she has been proactive and say, 00:14:03.24\00:14:04.74 "Look, I know that I can do something 00:14:04.77\00:14:07.51 to help my situation." 00:14:07.54\00:14:08.88 And she did, she lost how much weight? 00:14:08.91\00:14:10.85 Well, since she first came last fall, 00:14:10.88\00:14:13.72 and at the time of 00:14:13.75\00:14:15.38 when she came back the second time 00:14:15.42\00:14:16.79 which was in the spring, late spring, 00:14:16.82\00:14:18.89 she had lost 50 pounds. Yeah. 00:14:18.92\00:14:20.36 And I didn't recognize her by the time it was over. 00:14:20.39\00:14:23.39 So she's a great example of someone 00:14:23.43\00:14:26.63 who's going to take control back. 00:14:26.66\00:14:29.73 She just followed the NEWSTART principles. 00:14:29.76\00:14:31.13 That's it. 00:14:31.17\00:14:32.50 She just took it to heart 00:14:32.53\00:14:33.94 when to make the dietary changes, 00:14:33.97\00:14:35.97 I'm going to start exercising again. 00:14:36.00\00:14:38.71 Even though I hurt, I'm going to work through that. 00:14:38.74\00:14:41.74 She drank water 00:14:41.78\00:14:43.11 and the pain started progressively getting better. 00:14:43.14\00:14:45.38 And she still has painful days, 00:14:45.41\00:14:47.42 I mean there are times that she does, 00:14:47.45\00:14:49.55 but she keeps working through it all. 00:14:49.58\00:14:51.85 And it's interesting that 00:14:51.89\00:14:54.99 as she continued to put herself forward, 00:14:55.02\00:14:58.93 God blessed her 00:14:58.96\00:15:00.30 with another blessing of healing. 00:15:00.33\00:15:03.20 First it was the weight loss and the improvement of pain, 00:15:03.23\00:15:06.90 so she could function better. 00:15:06.94\00:15:08.94 But He also blessed her with, in the area of cancer, 00:15:08.97\00:15:11.34 they have not been able to find traces of cancer. 00:15:11.37\00:15:15.08 And so we're still praying, of course, 00:15:15.11\00:15:17.45 but she's been through 00:15:17.48\00:15:18.81 two sessions with her oncologist, 00:15:18.85\00:15:21.18 haven't found cancer. 00:15:21.22\00:15:22.75 And even the other patients have said, 00:15:22.78\00:15:25.25 "Doctor so and so said, 00:15:25.29\00:15:26.65 you didn't need any more treatments." 00:15:26.69\00:15:28.62 She said, "Yeah, he can't find the cancer." 00:15:28.66\00:15:30.83 And I guess so he's a guy 00:15:30.86\00:15:32.19 that would normally be on the err 00:15:32.23\00:15:33.56 on the side of caution in treat, treat, treat, 00:15:33.60\00:15:35.16 but he said, 00:15:35.20\00:15:36.53 "I don't see a reason to continue doing this. 00:15:36.56\00:15:37.90 You're doing so well." 00:15:37.93\00:15:39.27 And then God has opened up other things for her 00:15:39.30\00:15:41.57 and she started learning to play the guitar 00:15:41.60\00:15:45.27 which I know is near and dear to both of our hearts, 00:15:45.31\00:15:47.31 we both love acoustic guitar. 00:15:47.34\00:15:50.78 And what happened with that was that she was invited 00:15:50.81\00:15:54.12 to start doing things for her church. 00:15:54.15\00:15:56.99 First it was, you know, play special music 00:15:57.02\00:15:58.89 and they found out about her story, 00:15:58.92\00:16:01.29 saw her improving, 00:16:01.32\00:16:03.02 and God opened up a way for her to share and help people. 00:16:03.06\00:16:07.60 And she said, people have come up to her 00:16:07.63\00:16:09.60 that she hardly even knows 00:16:09.63\00:16:10.97 and say, to tell her, 00:16:11.00\00:16:12.37 what inspiration she has been to them. 00:16:12.40\00:16:15.40 So that's important 00:16:15.44\00:16:17.04 because when God does something in our lives, 00:16:17.07\00:16:19.81 it's not just a blessing for us, 00:16:19.84\00:16:22.24 it can be a tremendous blessing for somebody else. 00:16:22.28\00:16:24.85 And she's living a life 00:16:24.88\00:16:26.21 that is giving honor and glory to her God. 00:16:26.25\00:16:29.38 Right. 00:16:29.42\00:16:30.75 And that's putting it back on her. 00:16:30.79\00:16:32.12 So she has put her body in the best possible situation. 00:16:32.15\00:16:35.99 That's what I think of her. 00:16:36.02\00:16:37.36 She's placed herself in the best situation 00:16:37.39\00:16:39.33 to fight anything that comes along, 00:16:39.36\00:16:41.66 any disease by going through the NEWSTART principles, 00:16:41.70\00:16:44.77 she's lost weight, she's lessen her pain, 00:16:44.80\00:16:48.14 and then that's allowed her to do more and more physically 00:16:48.17\00:16:51.17 and the numbers have dropped down. 00:16:51.21\00:16:53.54 She's a great testimony. 00:16:53.58\00:16:55.01 And by the grace of God... 00:16:55.04\00:16:56.38 Yes, that's right. 00:16:56.41\00:16:57.95 Quit cancer too. That's right. That's right. 00:16:57.98\00:16:59.95 And cancer is gone, so hallelujah. 00:16:59.98\00:17:02.02 Praise the Lord. 00:17:02.05\00:17:03.39 Dr. Kay, unfortunately, we're out of time. 00:17:03.42\00:17:05.15 But I appreciate you so much. 00:17:05.19\00:17:06.62 God bless your ministry. 00:17:06.65\00:17:08.32 Thank you so much, Damon. It's always a pleasure. 00:17:08.36\00:17:10.96 Don't go away, friends, we'll be right back. 00:17:10.99\00:17:12.33 Welcome back, friends, help me welcome, Pastor Snead. 00:17:15.70\00:17:18.80 Thank you. 00:17:18.83\00:17:20.17 Yeah, let me first just clear up 00:17:20.20\00:17:21.74 what's going on here. 00:17:21.77\00:17:23.30 You were sitting here interviewing the doctors. 00:17:23.34\00:17:27.18 Yeah, was a very strange feeling. 00:17:27.21\00:17:28.64 I would rather be here than over there. 00:17:28.68\00:17:31.98 Well, yeah, I'd rather be here than over there. 00:17:32.01\00:17:34.18 Because I don't know if I could answer these questions. 00:17:34.22\00:17:36.82 And I don't mean to put you on the spot. 00:17:36.85\00:17:39.95 However, with regards to Ronda, 00:17:39.99\00:17:43.29 and by the way thank you for filling in for me. 00:17:43.32\00:17:46.93 With regards to Ronda, she had been here before, 00:17:46.96\00:17:51.13 she's done a great job in losing weight, 00:17:51.17\00:17:55.30 her attitude seems really good, she's a cancer survivor. 00:17:55.34\00:18:02.08 Why did she come back? 00:18:02.11\00:18:03.81 Yeah, I was really surprised to see her. 00:18:03.85\00:18:07.32 Normally, when people come back, 00:18:07.35\00:18:09.35 you take one look at them, 00:18:09.38\00:18:10.72 you know, "Okay, I know why they're coming back." 00:18:10.75\00:18:13.76 You know, they've got off of the wagon in their life. 00:18:13.79\00:18:16.99 They'll tell you that. 00:18:17.03\00:18:18.36 But when I saw her, 00:18:18.39\00:18:19.76 not only was I surprised to see her 00:18:19.79\00:18:21.36 because she did so well when she left the first time 00:18:21.40\00:18:24.90 that I didn't recognize her. 00:18:24.93\00:18:26.70 The second time she came back I was... 00:18:26.74\00:18:30.47 She had done more than when she had left, 00:18:30.51\00:18:32.67 completely shrunk up, lost tons of weight, 00:18:32.71\00:18:34.78 I didn't even recognize her facial features, 00:18:34.81\00:18:36.54 she had lost so much weight. 00:18:36.58\00:18:37.91 And I'm thinking, why is she coming back? 00:18:37.95\00:18:41.62 What you're doing here? 00:18:41.65\00:18:42.98 You don't need me here. 00:18:43.02\00:18:44.35 No, but she tells us later 00:18:44.39\00:18:46.25 that she felt that she wanted to go deeper with it. 00:18:46.29\00:18:50.09 She wanted to really grasp those principles 00:18:50.13\00:18:53.66 and really dedicate her life 00:18:53.70\00:18:56.23 to the very minute details of it. 00:18:56.26\00:18:59.23 Yeah, she wanted to stay connected I think 00:18:59.27\00:19:01.80 because a lot of people get in their mind 00:19:01.84\00:19:04.11 that this is the source, the NEWSTART. 00:19:04.14\00:19:07.88 They don't really remember that God is the source. 00:19:07.91\00:19:10.85 But they feel that this is the source 00:19:10.88\00:19:12.61 they're going to go back, 00:19:12.65\00:19:13.98 plug in to the source, recharge their batteries. 00:19:14.02\00:19:17.29 Her batteries were full on. 00:19:17.32\00:19:19.59 She was doing great. 00:19:19.62\00:19:21.12 She had been in the past, she is currently. 00:19:21.16\00:19:24.26 But, you know, she has a testimony 00:19:24.29\00:19:27.36 that I just think it's wonderful, 00:19:27.40\00:19:29.76 especially now adding the spiritual component. 00:19:29.80\00:19:33.50 Sure, and I think that 00:19:33.54\00:19:35.90 what I learned from her and it was a great insight. 00:19:35.94\00:19:41.14 Is that just because you've learned something. 00:19:41.18\00:19:44.81 And this is a mistake a lot of people make at NEWSTART. 00:19:44.85\00:19:47.55 Just because you learn it and you get the ideas down, 00:19:47.58\00:19:52.15 and you go home. 00:19:52.19\00:19:54.62 It's got to become part of who you are. 00:19:54.66\00:19:56.89 Truly you've got to embrace it a lifestyle change 00:19:56.93\00:20:00.93 and with the spiritual, 00:20:00.96\00:20:02.30 that what I got from her is the same with the spiritual. 00:20:02.33\00:20:04.97 You can't just grasp the principles of the gospel, 00:20:05.00\00:20:08.34 say, okay I got, you know, step one, step two, step three, 00:20:08.37\00:20:11.67 step four, step five, step six. 00:20:11.71\00:20:13.51 I get that, I understand that. 00:20:13.54\00:20:15.14 It's really got to become part of who you are. 00:20:15.18\00:20:17.85 You really got to embrace the gospel message 00:20:17.88\00:20:20.78 of what Christ has done for us, what He wants to do in us, 00:20:20.82\00:20:23.99 what He wants to do out of us. 00:20:24.02\00:20:25.62 You know, all of those principles revealed 00:20:25.65\00:20:27.56 in that little book, Steps to Christ. 00:20:27.59\00:20:30.13 And she's a great example 00:20:30.16\00:20:32.39 of someone on the physical and spiritual side 00:20:32.43\00:20:35.10 that gets that concept. 00:20:35.13\00:20:36.56 You've really got to live this stuff. 00:20:36.60\00:20:38.57 And if I got to come back here to reboot 00:20:38.60\00:20:41.04 and get deeper down into it, 00:20:41.07\00:20:43.07 so that I can continue to live it out, 00:20:43.10\00:20:45.07 well, that's what everyone needs to do, 00:20:45.11\00:20:47.58 spiritually and physically. 00:20:47.61\00:20:49.01 Amen. 00:20:49.04\00:20:50.45 I'm telling you, 00:20:50.48\00:20:52.38 you know, having been on the program now myself, 00:20:52.41\00:20:56.18 13 years this month by the way 00:20:56.22\00:20:59.12 is when I came through as a guest. 00:20:59.15\00:21:02.36 And if you don't stick to it, you're going to lose it. 00:21:02.39\00:21:06.70 And, you know, there's a time where I backslid so to speak. 00:21:06.73\00:21:11.43 But it wasn't on the diet, 00:21:11.47\00:21:13.23 it wasn't on the food, 00:21:13.27\00:21:14.60 it wasn't on the spiritual, it's on the physical. 00:21:14.64\00:21:17.84 And if you forget that, 00:21:17.87\00:21:20.54 a lot of bad things can happen, you know. 00:21:20.58\00:21:24.35 Go ahead. No, I was done. 00:21:24.38\00:21:26.21 I'm just asking you now, 00:21:26.25\00:21:29.02 what is most critical for you as far as a pastor? 00:21:29.05\00:21:32.99 Well, for me as a pastor 00:21:33.02\00:21:34.59 that what you said is actually golden. 00:21:34.62\00:21:37.49 When you look at the eight principles of health, 00:21:37.53\00:21:40.80 and you look it and I do, 00:21:40.83\00:21:42.26 coincidently I do eight major concepts of the gospel. 00:21:42.30\00:21:46.43 You can't get lack some in one area 00:21:46.47\00:21:48.60 because they're all interconnected, 00:21:48.64\00:21:50.07 they all affect one another. 00:21:50.11\00:21:51.44 You can't say, "Well, I'm doing good in seven 00:21:51.47\00:21:52.94 and then the eighth one I'm going to let go 00:21:52.97\00:21:54.88 which in your case was the physical exercise." 00:21:54.91\00:21:57.41 And it got you. 00:21:57.45\00:21:58.85 And for me as a pastor, I'll tell to people, 00:21:58.88\00:22:00.92 look you can understand it all, but you can't let, 00:22:00.95\00:22:02.85 say repentance go, 00:22:02.88\00:22:04.22 you can't forget about conviction, 00:22:04.25\00:22:05.62 you can't forget about down to self. 00:22:05.65\00:22:07.66 It's always going to be all of it in our mind. 00:22:07.69\00:22:10.93 And NEWSTART guests learn 00:22:10.96\00:22:12.96 that the hard way about the health principles 00:22:12.99\00:22:15.76 and I'm here to help them say, 00:22:15.80\00:22:17.13 "It's the same thing spiritually, 00:22:17.17\00:22:18.83 you cannot let a piece of it go, 00:22:18.87\00:22:20.77 we got to do daily focus on these things." 00:22:20.80\00:22:24.04 Amen. 00:22:24.07\00:22:25.41 Our time is out, Brother. 00:22:25.44\00:22:26.78 Thank you, Damon, again. All right. 00:22:26.81\00:22:28.14 Don't go away. 00:22:28.18\00:22:29.51 We got something for you following this. 00:22:29.54\00:22:31.51 Welcome to Weimar Institute Research. 00:22:34.72\00:22:37.32 Glad you're with us today for another exciting analysis. 00:22:37.35\00:22:42.66 Studies that get published 00:22:42.69\00:22:44.19 in the Peer Review Scientific Literature, 00:22:44.23\00:22:46.53 they're that important. 00:22:46.56\00:22:48.43 And Weimar Institute 00:22:48.46\00:22:49.96 is cranking out a lot of research these days. 00:22:50.00\00:22:53.00 And one of the reasons is because of Dr. Eddy Ramirez 00:22:53.03\00:22:56.14 who is the head of Weimar Institute Research 00:22:56.17\00:22:59.21 and teaches research methods at the college. 00:22:59.24\00:23:02.74 And we're actually analyzing going back in our database 00:23:02.78\00:23:06.78 and analyzing those 00:23:06.82\00:23:08.78 who have gone through the NEWSTART program. 00:23:08.82\00:23:11.42 And you took some students and some others 00:23:11.45\00:23:13.76 and you systematically went through 11 years of patience. 00:23:13.79\00:23:19.26 And this particular study is quite interesting. 00:23:19.29\00:23:23.97 First of all, let's just talk about where it got published, 00:23:24.00\00:23:27.64 and then we can talk about the study. 00:23:27.67\00:23:29.10 In a journal from the American Heart Association 00:23:29.14\00:23:32.07 by the name of Atherosclerosis Thrombosis 00:23:32.11\00:23:34.68 and Vascular Biology. 00:23:34.71\00:23:36.08 Okay. 00:23:36.11\00:23:37.45 And so the American Heart Association 00:23:37.48\00:23:39.61 is very interested in what's happening at Weimar. 00:23:39.65\00:23:42.78 And they published this study. 00:23:42.82\00:23:44.75 And how many patients had gone through the program 00:23:44.79\00:23:49.59 in those 11 years. 00:23:49.62\00:23:50.96 So we had about 2,030 patients 00:23:50.99\00:23:53.76 that had gone through the program. 00:23:53.80\00:23:56.26 And 82 of them had the data that we were interested in. 00:23:56.30\00:24:01.00 Okay. 00:24:01.04\00:24:02.37 So we were looking at a select group 00:24:02.40\00:24:04.01 of those over 2,000 individuals who went through the program. 00:24:04.04\00:24:07.78 By the way 2,000 is a nice study group. 00:24:07.81\00:24:11.48 You know, a lot of pharmaceuticals 00:24:11.51\00:24:13.18 get released on less than a 1,000 patients 00:24:13.21\00:24:15.82 that take them. 00:24:15.85\00:24:17.19 And so this is a large study group. 00:24:17.22\00:24:20.56 And what niche where you're looking at here? 00:24:20.59\00:24:22.82 So we were focusing on those patients 00:24:22.86\00:24:25.09 that have what is called angina. 00:24:25.13\00:24:27.73 They have pain, they have pressure 00:24:27.76\00:24:29.90 when they're doing exercise or physical activity. 00:24:29.93\00:24:33.17 Okay. 00:24:33.20\00:24:34.54 And that means 00:24:34.57\00:24:35.90 they have significant coronary artery disease 00:24:35.94\00:24:38.37 because they've got these plugged arteries 00:24:38.41\00:24:41.81 that are not able to supply the blood 00:24:41.84\00:24:44.91 when their heart needs to work. 00:24:44.95\00:24:46.72 And as a result they get into chest pressure, 00:24:46.75\00:24:49.62 and it might radiate into the neck or the left arm, 00:24:49.65\00:24:52.19 and you might get short of breath, 00:24:52.22\00:24:53.76 or break out into a sweat, or get nauseated over it. 00:24:53.79\00:24:57.29 And so they're advanced. 00:24:57.33\00:24:59.66 And often many of these patients 00:24:59.69\00:25:01.63 come to Weimar because they're out of options. 00:25:01.66\00:25:04.30 They should have come to us a long beforehand, 00:25:04.33\00:25:06.33 then they wouldn't have needed to get 00:25:06.37\00:25:08.30 all of these other surgical and other procedures 00:25:08.34\00:25:10.97 that they're no longer able to get 00:25:11.01\00:25:12.44 'cause their veins are gone or whatever. 00:25:12.47\00:25:15.54 But you also took a look at something else, 00:25:15.58\00:25:18.31 not just angina patients, but what was this group? 00:25:18.35\00:25:23.65 We were focusing on what happens 00:25:23.69\00:25:27.09 with their utilization of oxygen. 00:25:27.12\00:25:30.59 So this group was a very nice diverse group, 00:25:30.63\00:25:33.29 20% of them were African-Americans 00:25:33.33\00:25:36.36 and 20% were actually Hispanic. 00:25:36.40\00:25:39.33 So nice, different ethnic, racially diverse study. 00:25:39.37\00:25:44.67 Which makes the study even more powerful. 00:25:44.71\00:25:47.34 And so, what did we find out? 00:25:47.38\00:25:49.11 What happened during the 18 days 00:25:49.14\00:25:50.88 to these patients who were so challenged? 00:25:50.91\00:25:52.51 So what we do here in the NEWSTART program, 00:25:52.55\00:25:55.12 we test the heart, 00:25:55.15\00:25:56.48 we put them in what is called a stress test 00:25:56.52\00:25:59.35 in which they need to do exercise, 00:25:59.39\00:26:01.26 while at the same time we're monitoring their heart 00:26:01.29\00:26:03.46 and we can see exactly actually 00:26:03.49\00:26:05.09 which areas of their heart are more troublesome. 00:26:05.13\00:26:08.56 And that test that they do before and after the program 00:26:08.60\00:26:13.60 tells us an important number by the name of METS. 00:26:13.64\00:26:18.87 It tells us how good the body is at utilizing their oxygen. 00:26:18.91\00:26:23.81 And the higher the METS, the better your prognosis. 00:26:23.85\00:26:27.38 The higher your years that you're going to live 00:26:27.42\00:26:29.98 and so forth. 00:26:30.02\00:26:31.35 Okay, well, a lot of people think your METS can't go up 00:26:31.39\00:26:33.86 if you have coronary artery disease. 00:26:33.89\00:26:36.22 But you actually show the opposite, 00:26:36.26\00:26:37.96 even though you have coronary artery disease, 00:26:37.99\00:26:40.06 if you come to NEWSTART that is, 00:26:40.10\00:26:42.86 your exercise capacity and fitness level 00:26:42.90\00:26:44.93 can even improve with atherosclerosis. 00:26:44.97\00:26:48.17 Tell us how much it improved? 00:26:48.20\00:26:50.01 Among females at a baseline that they started from 6.1, 00:26:50.04\00:26:53.68 by the end it went up to 7.2 which is very good. 00:26:53.71\00:26:57.18 And among males the improvement was even more dramatical. 00:26:57.21\00:27:00.15 In the beginning then average of 7.5 00:27:00.18\00:27:03.69 and by the end that was an 8.9 00:27:03.72\00:27:07.99 by the end of those 18 days. 00:27:08.02\00:27:10.93 That's exciting. 00:27:10.96\00:27:12.29 Not only did their arteries open up better 00:27:12.33\00:27:16.03 because of result of their cholesterol getting better, 00:27:16.06\00:27:19.20 and LDL, and those types of things. 00:27:19.23\00:27:22.10 But their exercise capacity improved. 00:27:22.14\00:27:24.34 That means those blood vessels 00:27:24.37\00:27:25.84 were supplying more circulation to the heart 00:27:25.87\00:27:30.25 and improving their exercise capacity. 00:27:30.28\00:27:32.81 Decreasing the risk of that, 00:27:32.85\00:27:35.12 and decreasing the risk of heart attack 00:27:35.15\00:27:37.82 in the near future. 00:27:37.85\00:27:39.52 Well, I would encourage you, don't wait, 00:27:39.55\00:27:42.26 come to NEWSTART Now. 00:27:42.29\00:27:44.49 It will benefit you in more ways 00:27:44.53\00:27:46.80 than you can imagine. 00:27:46.83\00:27:48.36 And stay tuned for next week's 00:27:48.40\00:27:51.17 Weimar Institute Research segment. 00:27:51.20\00:27:53.87 Well, friends, that's it for today. 00:27:57.47\00:27:59.11 But join us next week for another episode. 00:27:59.14\00:28:02.28 In the meantime, pick up the phone 00:28:02.31\00:28:03.98 and give us a call at 800-525-9192. 00:28:04.01\00:28:09.88 Mention the NEWSTART Now program 00:28:09.92\00:28:12.69 and receive the NEWSTART special. 00:28:12.72\00:28:15.22
