¤ ¤ 00:00:01.36\00:01:09.80 Hi friends and welcome to another edition of 00:01:09.86\00:01:15.37 NEWSTART Now. I'm your host Ron Giannoni and we have 00:01:15.40\00:01:19.84 another miracle for you. Actually not a big miracle but 00:01:19.87\00:01:24.18 a real important one. We'd like you to take a look at when Hizi 00:01:24.21\00:01:28.42 first arrived. 00:01:28.45\00:01:29.78 I come from Africa, Swichartan de asie, Congo and I came here 00:01:33.25\00:01:40.80 to be treated because I want to change my style of life and I am 00:01:40.83\00:01:50.84 here now and I want to watch and see if this will work out. 00:01:50.87\00:02:00.88 I am praising that they will receive God's will. 00:02:00.92\00:02:05.49 We have our room. 00:02:05.52\00:02:07.06 We already see the doctors and the nurses who will be taking 00:02:07.09\00:02:13.23 care of us is where we are now today. The most I want to 00:02:13.26\00:02:19.30 do is to show to the people in De asie how this diet can change 00:02:19.33\00:02:24.81 any time if you want to be changed. And I'm sure in my 00:02:24.84\00:02:30.78 country we have every right to know exactly what to do to 00:02:30.81\00:02:36.69 change this style. 00:02:36.75\00:02:38.75 Welcome back friends. Hizi, how are you brother? 00:02:38.79\00:02:44.53 I'm fine thank you, brother. 00:02:44.56\00:02:45.89 Good, good. Good to see you. 00:02:45.96\00:02:47.30 Good to see you too. 00:02:47.33\00:02:48.66 You look so happy. 00:02:48.70\00:02:50.03 I'm more happier. 00:02:50.87\00:02:52.20 Now you know I didn't tell the viewers earlier but during the 00:02:53.23\00:02:56.74 first interview you actually said where you're from. But 00:02:56.77\00:03:00.21 you're all the way from the Congo. How far away is that? 00:03:00.24\00:03:03.61 Congo is far away. Because from Congo you have to fly from Congo 00:03:03.65\00:03:12.52 to Europe and from Europe United States. It takes 16 hours. 00:03:12.55\00:03:17.79 That's flying. That's far away. 00:03:17.83\00:03:21.10 That's far away. Yeah. Now this program, your brother's been 00:03:21.13\00:03:25.67 through the program, now you and your wife are going to be going 00:03:25.73\00:03:30.24 through the program. Now you're going to have another relative 00:03:30.27\00:03:33.88 going through the program. You're going to take this back 00:03:33.91\00:03:37.88 to the Congo and teach the people in the Congo what you've 00:03:37.91\00:03:41.85 learned here. Is that fair to say? 00:03:41.88\00:03:46.22 Definitely. You know when you have good news especially to 00:03:46.25\00:03:51.03 help people to take care of themselves, it's easy to tell 00:03:51.06\00:03:55.76 it's easy to initiate other people because we ran into many 00:03:55.80\00:04:01.04 things here about how you have to eat and how you have to take 00:04:01.07\00:04:07.11 exercise and how you have to drink water and then to have a 00:04:07.14\00:04:13.11 good life and have a long life with that activity. 00:04:13.18\00:04:17.15 What about the spiritual aspect? 00:04:17.19\00:04:20.76 Yeah, I could start that. The spiritual is more important 00:04:20.79\00:04:26.49 because everything we do we started by praying and we 00:04:26.53\00:04:32.17 started by saying to God thanks because we cannot talk 00:04:32.20\00:04:39.04 if God does not take care of us. So that's the beginning and then 00:04:39.07\00:04:43.04 when you have power from God you go back and you exercise and 00:04:43.08\00:04:47.88 you eat and do whatever you have to do as a job, you know. 00:04:47.92\00:04:52.69 Now have you learned enough here where you can take this program 00:04:52.72\00:04:58.03 back to the Congo to people of your nation and teach. 00:04:58.06\00:05:02.40 Yeah you know it's amazing how you are organized. Everything 00:05:02.43\00:05:08.90 you have done is written and when you have something written 00:05:08.94\00:05:14.54 and prove it by explanation, by how, you go and practice it's 00:05:14.58\00:05:20.65 easy to show to others and then make the search after having 00:05:20.68\00:05:26.72 going that's there our pocket. 00:05:26.76\00:05:28.99 Awesome, awesome. What part of the program did you like the 00:05:29.02\00:05:37.03 most? 00:05:37.07\00:05:38.40 The most as you say we start everything by glorying to God, 00:05:38.43\00:05:45.64 saying thanks and then we go to exercise, we drink water, we 00:05:45.67\00:05:52.65 eat health food, no meat, no food that is processed and that 00:05:52.68\00:05:58.72 you have to take care of you by using natural as it is, 00:05:58.75\00:06:04.76 not transformation food. So it's really amazing because many 00:06:04.79\00:06:10.87 people in Africa they think if they don't buy food from Europe 00:06:10.90\00:06:16.27 packaged already processed they are not healthy but today 00:06:16.30\00:06:21.61 I found out that's not true. I have heard enough how the 00:06:21.64\00:06:27.42 information that we have to go back to the garden, grow our 00:06:27.48\00:06:33.32 food, grow our vegetables and eat fresh food and drink the 00:06:33.36\00:06:40.73 clean water which will help us to be safe and to have a good 00:06:40.80\00:06:48.14 life and stay longer and pray and say thank you to God. 00:06:48.17\00:06:54.11 Who's your doctor during this program? 00:06:54.14\00:06:56.38 My doctor is Gallant. 00:06:56.41\00:06:59.98 Dr. Gallant. 00:07:00.02\00:07:01.35 It is Gallant, yes. 00:07:01.38\00:07:04.05 And was there anything different about him compared to your 00:07:04.09\00:07:08.06 doctors back home? 00:07:08.09\00:07:10.46 Yeah, you know, I told him this morning even when he came to see 00:07:10.49\00:07:14.40 me for the last time, not the last, maybe just come back, 00:07:14.43\00:07:20.70 never know. But he really terrific because when he explain 00:07:20.74\00:07:26.64 what he has to explain he's very clear and everything's written. 00:07:26.68\00:07:31.91 And question is welcome all the time even when he's teaching 00:07:31.95\00:07:36.75 you can ask whatever you want and you have response regarding 00:07:36.79\00:07:41.56 you think that explaining to us. 00:07:41.59\00:07:43.93 Isn't that wonderful? 00:07:43.96\00:07:45.99 Yes it is really wonderful. Beautiful man, very clean and 00:07:46.06\00:07:50.83 he smart. 00:07:50.87\00:07:52.20 And smart. Yes. And you know what's really nice, a little 00:07:52.23\00:07:55.70 bonus, is the doctors eat with you both breakfast and lunch 00:07:55.74\00:07:59.57 and while you're sitting there enjoying the wonderful meal 00:07:59.61\00:08:03.45 you can talk about these things. 00:08:03.48\00:08:05.48 Yeah, he always do that. You always come to the dining room 00:08:05.51\00:08:10.89 and he will be with us and we will talk and he will talk and 00:08:10.92\00:08:16.29 he will do it for everybody. Yes. He's very good. 00:08:16.32\00:08:20.90 So what about the cooking class? Do you learn? 00:08:20.93\00:08:25.43 Oh we learned very much. We cook ourselves and then we eat. 00:08:25.47\00:08:30.74 You're cooking yourself? Yes. And Michelle Irwin, what did you 00:08:30.77\00:08:36.01 think of Michelle? 00:08:36.04\00:08:37.38 Oh she's very, very nice. 00:08:37.41\00:08:38.75 Isn't she a wonderful lady? 00:08:38.78\00:08:40.42 She's wonderful, intelligent and smart as a I said. 00:08:40.45\00:08:42.85 Yes. 00:08:42.88\00:08:44.22 You know these people here, they were chosen by God because they 00:08:44.25\00:08:48.29 are all competent. Yes. Everybody. I saw they were 00:08:48.32\00:08:58.93 well organized and well educated in what they are doing. 00:08:59.00\00:09:02.47 It's so good to hear you say that, because I see it the same 00:09:02.50\00:09:07.88 way. And it's a blessing for me to be here and to work with 00:09:07.91\00:09:12.48 all these people because it kind of keeps me steady. You know 00:09:12.51\00:09:17.05 what I mean? That's right. Because I have all these 00:09:17.09\00:09:19.75 spiritual teachers around me. 00:09:19.79\00:09:21.56 God has placed me here to learn and to 00:09:21.59\00:09:26.39 help and to do my portion of work. Hizi I wanted to thank 00:09:26.43\00:09:31.53 you so much and I do hope you'll stay in touch with us from 00:09:31.57\00:09:36.57 Africa and maybe a bunch of us will come over and help you one 00:09:36.60\00:09:40.31 day. 00:09:40.34\00:09:41.68 Yes, thank you very much. I appreciate it. 00:09:41.71\00:09:43.04 OK Hizi. OK. God bless you. 00:09:43.08\00:09:44.78 God bless you too. 00:09:44.81\00:09:46.15 Friends don't go away because Dr. Gallant is up next. 00:09:46.18\00:09:50.32 Every year in America there are over one million deaths because 00:09:50.35\00:09:54.79 of type two diabetes and chronic obesity. This includes heart 00:09:54.82\00:09:58.99 attacks and strokes. That's six and a half 747s crashing every 00:09:59.03\00:10:03.16 day. What's even more surprising is that the fix is easy. 00:10:03.20\00:10:07.17 It's your lifestyle. Wouldn't it be nice if you could actually 00:10:07.20\00:10:10.71 add quality years to your life rather than dying one organ at 00:10:10.74\00:10:14.44 a time. Obesity and diabetes are the cause of over a million 00:10:14.48\00:10:18.48 deaths per year. Most diseases are reversible because most 00:10:18.51\00:10:22.42 diseases are lifestyle diseases, especially type two diabetes 00:10:22.45\00:10:26.35 and chronic obesity. Seriously now, they can be reversed and 00:10:26.39\00:10:30.93 and the quality of your life can be renewed. Call NEWSTART today 00:10:30.96\00:10:36.56 at 1-800-525-9192. Meet Dr. Roger Gallant. 00:10:53.15\00:10:56.82 Ron, how are you? 00:10:56.85\00:10:58.19 I'm good, how about you? 00:10:58.22\00:10:59.55 Praise the Lord. I'm glad to be here. 00:10:59.59\00:11:00.92 For a busy guy. I know you've got a few minutes with us here. 00:11:00.96\00:11:06.59 I want to take advantage of that You know, this guy, Hizi, yes, 00:11:06.63\00:11:12.47 he's such a wonderful man. Yes. Very, very interesting. 00:11:12.50\00:11:15.80 Oh, he is. You know when I signed him up he called, someone 00:11:15.84\00:11:19.84 else called for him, he's coming from the Congo and I go the 00:11:19.87\00:11:23.85 Congo. Isn't that in the middle of Africa somewhere? 00:11:23.88\00:11:26.31 Which it is. Yeah. Now he's a high dignitary in the Congo. 00:11:26.35\00:11:29.28 Yeah, he's in the government. He's very fascinating as you say 00:11:29.32\00:11:34.69 He told me that he had to get time off of school to come here. 00:11:34.72\00:11:38.79 And I said, but aren't you in the government and he said yeah. 00:11:38.83\00:11:45.17 He has a company where he mines minerals and he has lawyers who 00:11:45.20\00:11:50.44 work for him. But he wants to make sure that they're doing the 00:11:50.47\00:11:55.68 right thing, so he's in law school. 00:11:55.71\00:11:59.31 (Laughter) Isn't that interesting. 00:11:59.35\00:12:02.95 Not busy enough, I guess. 00:12:02.98\00:12:04.32 I guess not. Yeah. 00:12:04.35\00:12:05.69 What he shared with me he wants to take his principles that he 00:12:05.72\00:12:09.92 learned here and he wants to present them before the Senate. 00:12:09.96\00:12:14.30 Yeah that's wonderful. 00:12:14.33\00:12:15.73 And not just the senate, then he wants to present it to the whole 00:12:15.76\00:12:18.77 country. 00:12:18.80\00:12:20.14 Yeah, he's got a vision, which is why he's a leader. 00:12:20.17\00:12:22.60 Amen wouldn't that be wonderful. 00:12:22.64\00:12:25.94 Yeah, Oh it would. Yeah Absolutely. 00:12:25.97\00:12:29.84 You know, he's a great guy. He came to us and he was on 00:12:29.88\00:12:34.05 multiple medicines. 00:12:34.08\00:12:35.42 Yeah, what were they for? 00:12:35.45\00:12:37.32 He was on high blood pressure medicine he had high cholesterol 00:12:37.35\00:12:41.02 yeah, oh yeah, he was on multiple medicines and he was 00:12:41.06\00:12:45.13 willing to make some changes and we started decreasing his 00:12:45.19\00:12:50.73 medicines and his blood pressure would go up and down. So some 00:12:50.77\00:12:56.30 nights I'd get a call, the nurses would call me and they'd 00:12:56.44\00:12:58.07 say well his blood pressure is back up again. So I would 00:12:58.11\00:13:02.81 prescribe treatment for him. My treatment was he needs to drink 00:13:02.84\00:13:07.35 a large glass of water and go for a walk. And he found that as 00:13:07.38\00:13:11.09 he did that his blood pressure would come down. It would drop 00:13:11.15\00:13:14.82 20, 30, 40 points. 00:13:14.86\00:13:16.22 Can you explain that? Is that because water gets into the 00:13:16.29\00:13:19.76 So the water gets into the blood and helps to thin the blood. You 00:13:19.79\00:13:24.30 understand engines and engine oil viscosity. Yes. The thicker 00:13:24.33\00:13:29.10 the oil the more protection it provides but the thicker the 00:13:29.14\00:13:33.98 blood the more sluggish it is, the harder it is to pump. So as 00:13:34.01\00:13:38.61 you thin the blood, you allow it to be pumped easier and that 00:13:38.65\00:13:43.28 decreases your pressure. 00:13:43.32\00:13:44.65 So that there is one of the main reasons we should drink a lot of 00:13:44.69\00:13:50.46 water and stay hydrated. 00:13:50.49\00:13:52.09 Absolutely, absolutely. 00:13:52.13\00:13:53.46 Because otherwise our arteries are going to clog up. Is that 00:13:53.50\00:13:57.30 fair to say? 00:13:57.33\00:13:58.67 Right, right. Yeah. It's like trying to suck water through 00:13:58.70\00:14:00.10 a straw versus sucking honey through a straw. 00:14:00.14\00:14:02.70 Oh my goodness. 00:14:02.74\00:14:04.07 It's a lot harder to move the honey, a lot thicker liquid 00:14:04.11\00:14:07.58 more viscosity. So the more you think it the easier it is to 00:14:07.61\00:14:11.41 pump and then when you exercise you cause your blood vessels to 00:14:11.45\00:14:15.25 open up, what we call in medicine, to dilate. As they 00:14:15.28\00:14:19.29 dilate, that actually helps to open the vessels so more blood 00:14:19.32\00:14:23.29 can flow because you need to get more blood flow to your large 00:14:23.32\00:14:27.26 muscle groups as you're exercising. So all of that helps 00:14:27.30\00:14:31.60 to just lower the blood pressure and that's natural treatment for 00:14:31.63\00:14:37.91 blood pressure. 00:14:37.94\00:14:39.27 It just seems too simple. Exactly. I mean, what about a 00:14:39.31\00:14:41.51 pill and all that stuff, but no we don't need pills. 00:14:41.54\00:14:44.81 No by God's grace we can do it without pills. 00:14:44.85\00:14:47.42 Now is his blood pressure normal now? 00:14:47.45\00:14:50.45 His blood pressure is near normal It's not quite normal yet 00:14:50.49\00:14:54.76 but remember, and I told him this, he got high blood pressure 00:14:54.79\00:14:59.09 over a long period of time. He was here for two and a half 00:14:59.13\00:15:04.63 weeks. So he has had a new start but it's not done. His body is 00:15:04.67\00:15:09.14 still in transition, it's still changing. So he needs to give it 00:15:09.17\00:15:13.34 some more time, but here's the blessing and this is a blessing 00:15:13.38\00:15:17.51 from God. As we drink more water it actually protects us 00:15:17.55\00:15:22.65 from heart disease specifically as if our blood pressure was 00:15:22.68\00:15:26.76 normal. Wow. And as we drink more water it actually protects 00:15:26.79\00:15:31.23 us from heart disease as if our cholesterol is normal, and as we 00:15:31.26\00:15:35.03 drink more water it actually protects us from heart disease 00:15:35.06\00:15:38.80 as if our body weight were normal. Wow. And as we drink 00:15:38.83\00:15:43.77 more water it actually protects us from heart disease as if we 00:15:43.81\00:15:48.01 had stopped smoking. So just by one simple change, following 00:15:48.04\00:15:52.98 God's plan and drinking more water it actually protects us 00:15:53.01\00:15:56.92 from heart disease. So God is protecting us while our body is 00:15:56.95\00:16:00.82 in this transition and changing. Amen. Praise the Lord. 00:16:00.86\00:16:04.13 Now how much water, people out there say OK how much should I 00:16:04.16\00:16:09.00 drink? A glass a day? 00:16:09.03\00:16:10.37 So I don't like to tell people numbers because when I give them 00:16:10.40\00:16:15.00 a number they fixate on the number. So I'd rather give them 00:16:15.40\00:16:19.87 a principle. And what I would say is this. You need to drink 00:16:19.91\00:16:24.28 enough water between meals that your urine is pale to clear. 00:16:24.31\00:16:29.58 Wow. That's a sign that your body has gotten all the water it 00:16:29.62\00:16:34.86 needs and it's spilling the rest in your urine. Wow. So in the 00:16:34.89\00:16:38.09 morning when you wake up your urine's going to be yellow 00:16:38.13\00:16:41.26 because you haven't drank much through the night. After you eat 00:16:41.33\00:16:43.83 a meal it's like talking a multivitamin; your urine is 00:16:43.87\00:16:46.57 going to have a yellow discoloration. But in between 00:16:46.60\00:16:49.24 meals you should be drinking enough water that your urine is 00:16:49.27\00:16:51.61 pale to clear. 00:16:51.64\00:16:52.97 We've run out of time. I want to thank you Dr. Gallant. 00:16:53.01\00:16:55.88 Good to be here, Ron. 00:16:55.91\00:16:57.25 God bless you. 00:16:57.28\00:16:58.61 You too. 00:16:58.65\00:16:59.98 Don't go away. We'll be right back. 00:17:00.02\00:17:02.32 Welcome back friends. Pastor Snead. Can I call you Damon? 00:17:02.35\00:17:08.32 You can call me Damon. 00:17:08.36\00:17:11.29 OK. Well we have an interesting guy here. All the way from 00:17:11.33\00:17:16.16 halfway around the world, from the Congo, you know, and he is a 00:17:16.20\00:17:23.20 lot of fun. He's got a great sense of humor. But tell me, 00:17:23.24\00:17:28.31 is he a Seventh-day Adventist? 00:17:28.34\00:17:31.01 Yes. He is? Yes he surely is. 00:17:31.05\00:17:33.62 And he wants to take this message back to the Congo. 00:17:33.68\00:17:36.32 Yeah, this is what surprises. You know we have a guy from the 00:17:36.35\00:17:40.32 Asian Pacific Division here too. 00:17:40.36\00:17:41.82 Similar. So when these guys come into my office I perk up because 00:17:41.86\00:17:47.93 they have the capacity to really bring transformation and change 00:17:47.96\00:17:51.83 to large segments of society. You know he was sharing with me 00:17:51.87\00:17:58.94 his desire to do it with his family. He wants to send another 00:17:58.97\00:18:02.58 brother here now because his older brother Macon was here 00:18:02.61\00:18:06.58 and so he wants to do it with his business end. He's like a 00:18:06.61\00:18:11.49 very successful farmer in the Congo and a senator and so he 00:18:11.52\00:18:15.86 wants to bring it to that level. Then he wants to bring it to 00:18:15.89\00:18:20.20 Congo at large. 00:18:20.23\00:18:22.26 Not just a city but the whole country. 00:18:22.30\00:18:23.87 The entire country. And he says there's a very, very large 00:18:23.90\00:18:27.60 Adventist presence there and the church there is a large 00:18:27.64\00:18:31.57 Adventist church. But the message of health... They're 00:18:31.61\00:18:35.48 mostly meat eaters. They're starting to suffer from all our 00:18:35.51\00:18:40.05 western diseases so he has this desire to bring it to his own 00:18:40.08\00:18:44.55 church. That just sounds wonderful. 00:18:44.62\00:18:47.96 Can you imagine going to the Congo and doing one of these 00:18:48.02\00:18:52.16 sessions? Right, right. Who knows what God 00:18:52.19\00:18:56.00 wants? Who knows, yeah. 00:18:56.03\00:18:58.73 So what about his spiritual walk? Is he right there? 00:18:58.77\00:19:05.47 Oh, he and his wife both, and I find this with a lot of these 00:19:05.51\00:19:10.15 people from these African countries, man they're 00:19:10.18\00:19:13.11 spiritually tight. They have a close walk. You know he came 00:19:13.15\00:19:17.15 every morning to Fresh Start lectures and he really 00:19:17.19\00:19:19.75 appreciated the wheel of faith idea. This walking through the 00:19:19.79\00:19:24.16 main tenants of salvation, those eight points that I kind 00:19:24.19\00:19:29.16 of drag out of Steps to Christ and Acts 2 and Romans 1-8. 00:19:29.20\00:19:33.13 He also wants that to be part of the teaching. He thinks that 00:19:33.17\00:19:37.07 the gospel and the health message need to be what the 00:19:37.11\00:19:40.58 church is out there preaching, teaching and doing. He's very 00:19:40.61\00:19:43.85 sold on this idea, how the two work together; not just health, 00:19:43.88\00:19:47.72 but the gospel with the health and that would be a wonderful 00:19:47.75\00:19:51.55 thing for that to take fire in the Congo. 00:19:51.59\00:19:54.22 Well isn't the health message the right arm of the gospel. 00:19:54.26\00:19:59.33 Sure, because Africans now are coming into western ideas, 00:19:59.39\00:20:04.40 western world views and they're getting sick and they don't want 00:20:04.43\00:20:07.77 to die no more than the rest of us. So when they find this 00:20:07.80\00:20:10.67 message of healing and they find the gospel, you know, implanted 00:20:10.71\00:20:15.01 it right there with it it's exciting these people too. 00:20:15.04\00:20:19.61 You know Dr. Lukens made a statement to me one day. He said 00:20:19.65\00:20:23.82 in the 30 years he's been going to Africa, I think he goes to 00:20:23.85\00:20:28.72 South Africa, he's seen only one heart attack, right, because 00:20:28.76\00:20:33.09 these folks even though some of them have become a little bit 00:20:33.13\00:20:38.67 more westernized, they walk like I mean, they walk to get water, 00:20:38.70\00:20:44.11 they walk to get food. They don't have vehicles and bicycles 00:20:44.14\00:20:48.78 and things of this nature. Now in the big cities of course they 00:20:48.81\00:20:53.42 do. Now this is what he expressed 00:20:53.45\00:20:55.42 to me here. The problem is in the city. He said people in the 00:20:55.45\00:20:58.69 country side of Africa are fairly healthy. It's in the big 00:20:58.75\00:21:01.96 cities where they're getting sick. 00:21:01.99\00:21:04.33 Same thing in China. You know in Beijing and places like that 00:21:04.36\00:21:08.33 where every block has a McDonalds. Sorry McDonalds 00:21:08.36\00:21:12.87 but I'm not real fond of that place. What they serve is a 00:21:12.90\00:21:17.37 killer, it's a killer. 00:21:17.41\00:21:18.74 It's poison, we know that. Yeah. It's poison. 00:21:18.77\00:21:21.58 You know I'm so glad that you were here to work with him and I 00:21:21.64\00:21:27.35 know that God has a mightily plan for Africa. 00:21:27.38\00:21:30.69 I agree. The gospel is going to take root there and it's going 00:21:30.72\00:21:37.23 take root and one of the ways will be through the health 00:21:37.29\00:21:40.50 message. You know, teaching these people these eight points 00:21:40.53\00:21:43.90 of health. Letting the gospel blaze right in behind it and 00:21:43.97\00:21:47.54 experiencing that boon of health and spiritual health. 00:21:47.57\00:21:51.14 I want to thank you and God bless you. I'll talk to you 00:21:51.17\00:21:55.34 soon. Friends don't go away. We'll be right back. 00:21:55.38\00:21:59.78 Welcome to Weimar Institute Research. We not only treat 00:21:59.81\00:22:07.19 patients here at Weimar Institute through NEWSTART and 00:22:07.22\00:22:10.59 other types of programs but we 00:22:10.63\00:22:12.89 also do research, on sometimes, thousands of people and the 00:22:12.93\00:22:18.10 research is so important. It does get published in peer 00:22:18.13\00:22:21.20 review journals. And Dr. Ramirez our head of research at Weimar 00:22:21.24\00:22:27.14 college... By the way tell us a little bit about Weimar College. 00:22:27.18\00:22:29.41 Yeah, Weimar College is an undergraduate program that we 00:22:29.44\00:22:35.08 offer things like premed and also nursing and psychology and 00:22:35.12\00:22:42.62 business and it's a different angle of your usual college. 00:22:42.66\00:22:48.56 There is health culture running in all the college and the 00:22:48.60\00:22:54.10 students they not only learn the theoretical knowledge but we 00:22:54.14\00:22:59.17 like the students to be involved in practical type of things. One 00:22:59.21\00:23:03.71 of them is research. So in the premed program the average 00:23:03.75\00:23:08.25 student that graduates there has many published works already on 00:23:08.28\00:23:13.56 the CV at the undergraduate level. 00:23:13.59\00:23:17.76 And that's one of the reasons why they have the highest 00:23:17.79\00:23:19.89 acceptance rate really to U.S. medical schools. Right here from 00:23:19.93\00:23:23.87 Weimar College. You don't have to do your education anywhere 00:23:23.90\00:23:25.30 else. Great place to get into medical school and be ahead of 00:23:25.33\00:23:30.04 the game. Many doctors don't even publish their entire 00:23:30.07\00:23:32.57 careers but these students are publishing even before they get 00:23:32.61\00:23:36.98 to medical school so the medical schools are really interested in 00:23:37.01\00:23:41.05 our students here at Weimar. Well this particular study was 00:23:41.08\00:23:44.82 actually done by one of our students in conjunction with 00:23:44.85\00:23:48.49 Dr. Ramirez and myself and it was looking at the popular 00:23:48.52\00:23:55.20 cultural dogma of the day. And the popular cultural dogma says 00:23:55.23\00:24:01.30 as long as sex is consensual it's good for you and do it as 00:24:01.34\00:24:07.68 much as you can and as often as long as it's consensual. And of 00:24:07.71\00:24:12.18 course Hollywood advertises this and even some pop psychology 00:24:12.21\00:24:16.82 sites really advertise this. We actually took a look at how many 00:24:16.85\00:24:22.02 patients here? 00:24:22.06\00:24:24.73 Ah, 5621 patients from all over the world. 00:24:24.76\00:24:28.26 OK, so this wasn't some just cultural norm small group we're 00:24:28.30\00:24:32.03 looking at. These are from many different countries and it was 00:24:32.07\00:24:36.27 taking a look at particularly if they were having sexual 00:24:36.30\00:24:40.81 relations outside of a marriage relationship. So it was 00:24:40.84\00:24:44.81 consensual but it was not really that intimate marriage, lifelong 00:24:44.85\00:24:51.85 committed relationship. And the world is into this sort of thing 00:24:51.89\00:24:56.52 In fact, they think somehow that you might come out better if you 00:24:56.56\00:25:00.03 can sneak around and do this even if you are in an intimate 00:25:00.06\00:25:03.53 relationship with a lifelong partner. Getting more of it with 00:25:03.57\00:25:06.50 someone consensual somehow is going to help you. So what was 00:25:06.53\00:25:10.24 measured here? 00:25:10.27\00:25:12.21 So we were measuring emotional intelligence. 00:25:12.24\00:25:14.61 OK. And what did we find out. Those that were having sex 00:25:14.64\00:25:18.11 outside of marriage, did it help? 00:25:18.15\00:25:20.35 Actually they were worse. They were below the average of 00:25:20.38\00:25:24.32 emotional intelligence from the population that were involved 00:25:24.35\00:25:27.49 in sexual relationships outside of marriage. 00:25:27.52\00:25:29.72 Yeah, that's a significant with over a half a standard deviation 00:25:29.76\00:25:33.53 below. Now they actually went to an eight week course, both 00:25:33.56\00:25:38.17 the ones having sex outside of marriage and the ones who were 00:25:38.20\00:25:41.37 not having sex outside of marriage to improve their 00:25:41.40\00:25:44.24 emotional intelligence. And what did we find out? 00:25:44.27\00:25:48.28 We found out that actually by the end of the eight weeks 00:25:48.31\00:25:53.08 program that includes some CVT principles those that continued 00:25:53.11\00:25:57.39 with that behavior of sexual relations outside of marriage 00:25:57.42\00:26:00.89 they actually just became normal regarding their emotional 00:26:00.92\00:26:05.89 intelligence. While those that stopped that behavior actually 00:26:05.93\00:26:09.63 went above what is average for emotional intelligence. 00:26:09.66\00:26:13.67 It was very significant. By average they went up to let's 00:26:13.70\00:26:17.77 see, 102. By going to this course to improve their 00:26:17.81\00:26:21.81 emotional intelligence, the depression-anxiety recovery 00:26:21.84\00:26:25.01 course. But if they quit that behavior and went to that course 00:26:25.05\00:26:28.78 their scores on average were 109, 109.2. 00:26:28.82\00:26:34.92 With a median of 110. 00:26:34.96\00:26:38.59 OK and that's a whole standard deviation above the rest of the 00:26:38.63\00:26:42.93 population. So in reality, the cultural dogma that we have been 00:26:42.96\00:26:47.80 fed is false when it's put to the test. 00:26:47.84\00:26:50.87 We actually have a second one published on depression and we 00:26:50.91\00:26:54.34 actually found more depression. They actually liked this study 00:26:54.38\00:26:58.55 so much they invited me to their sexual medicine meeting so that 00:26:58.58\00:27:03.59 I could present this study from the front. 00:27:03.62\00:27:06.22 That's great. Well Dr. Ramirez we're happy to see this 00:27:06.25\00:27:09.92 documented in research that we can be solidly assured the 00:27:09.96\00:27:14.96 following God's plan regarding sex and marriage is actually 00:27:15.00\00:27:18.17 for the best for our mental health and our future happiness 00:27:18.20\00:27:22.10 and success. Thank you for joining us at NEWSTART Now. 00:27:22.14\00:27:27.71 Well friends that's it for today but join us next week for 00:27:27.74\00:27:32.75 another episode.
