Hi, friends, and welcome to NEWSTART Now. 00:01:11.50\00:01:13.80 I'm your host Ron Giannoni. 00:01:13.84\00:01:16.37 In our studio, with me, we have a young man, 00:01:16.40\00:01:19.01 Danny Velez, all the way from Washington. 00:01:19.04\00:01:23.35 And I want to take a look at when he first arrived. 00:01:23.38\00:01:26.92 So let's break away right now. 00:01:26.95\00:01:28.85 Well, I'm here because I've been having 00:01:32.22\00:01:34.96 some issues with my lungs for about three months. 00:01:34.99\00:01:38.66 And it's putting a lot of pressure 00:01:38.69\00:01:42.40 and causing pain from time to time 00:01:42.43\00:01:45.50 and making it hard for me 00:01:45.53\00:01:48.64 to breathe and to speak. 00:01:48.67\00:01:54.28 We've been to about six doctors, 00:01:54.31\00:01:59.31 and they don't even know 00:01:59.35\00:02:03.69 the cause of, you know, what I have or... 00:02:03.72\00:02:08.39 And they haven't done much to help me. 00:02:08.42\00:02:12.63 And so I am very hopeful that the NEWSTART program 00:02:12.66\00:02:19.27 will be the answer for me. 00:02:19.30\00:02:20.64 Welcome back, friends. 00:02:24.94\00:02:26.27 Hi, Danny. Hi. 00:02:26.31\00:02:27.88 Thanks for taking your time, I know you're in a hurry. 00:02:27.91\00:02:30.75 You got to catch a plane. Yes, we do. 00:02:30.78\00:02:32.31 So Let's do this real quick. Okay. 00:02:32.35\00:02:34.12 You came here, 00:02:34.15\00:02:35.48 and we just saw your first interview, 00:02:35.52\00:02:38.02 and you were dealing with what? 00:02:38.05\00:02:40.06 What were you dealing with? 00:02:40.09\00:02:41.86 Well, I had inflammation in my lungs, 00:02:41.89\00:02:44.79 and while I was here, 00:02:44.83\00:02:46.76 I got a call from my cardiologist 00:02:46.80\00:02:49.76 and told me that I have pericarditis, 00:02:49.80\00:02:51.73 which is inflammation of the lining of the heart. 00:02:51.77\00:02:54.94 So I had a lot of inflammation and pain. 00:02:54.97\00:02:57.47 Yes. Yeah. Okay. 00:02:57.51\00:02:59.47 And how are you doing now? 00:02:59.51\00:03:02.71 I am a lot better. 00:03:02.74\00:03:05.71 I'm not cured yet. Yes. 00:03:05.75\00:03:08.68 But I'm on the road to progress, yeah. 00:03:08.72\00:03:10.95 Did you get a CRP Test, Daniel? 00:03:10.99\00:03:12.62 I did, yeah. 00:03:12.65\00:03:14.06 And did it indicate high inflammation? 00:03:14.09\00:03:17.03 The normal was 0-3. Right. 00:03:17.06\00:03:20.00 And mine was a 126 when I got here. 00:03:20.03\00:03:23.53 Wow. 00:03:23.57\00:03:24.90 And I just found out that as of Monday, 00:03:24.93\00:03:28.07 mine is down to 12. 00:03:28.10\00:03:30.31 Yeah. Amen, bother, amen. 00:03:30.34\00:03:32.64 So it's on the right path now. 00:03:32.67\00:03:35.01 The Lord needs you. Amen. 00:03:35.04\00:03:36.85 He needs to use you. Yeah. 00:03:36.88\00:03:38.81 And that's obvious. 00:03:38.85\00:03:40.18 And I need Him. 00:03:40.22\00:03:41.55 I know you do, for sure. 00:03:41.58\00:03:43.65 Well, He doesn't really need us, 00:03:43.69\00:03:45.02 but He uses us, doesn't He? 00:03:45.05\00:03:46.39 Exactly. Yes. 00:03:46.42\00:03:48.22 So you know what to do when you get home 00:03:48.26\00:03:51.63 and to continue these hot and cold treatments and such? 00:03:51.66\00:03:57.43 Yes. 00:03:57.47\00:03:58.80 That was, to me, the key, obviously the diet 00:03:58.83\00:04:02.30 and the exercise are part of the whole package, 00:04:02.34\00:04:06.44 but the hydrotherapy, 00:04:06.47\00:04:08.64 the hot and cold treatments were the things 00:04:08.68\00:04:11.18 that really affected my lungs the most. 00:04:11.21\00:04:13.92 Yes, indeed. 00:04:13.95\00:04:15.82 So aside from that, what did you like 00:04:15.85\00:04:18.55 the most about the program? 00:04:18.59\00:04:21.16 Well, you know, the people. 00:04:21.19\00:04:26.36 It was a really good group of staff 00:04:26.39\00:04:30.00 and also the group that we had 00:04:30.03\00:04:32.30 was just a neat group to be around with, 00:04:32.33\00:04:35.34 and to talk with, and to hear their stories, 00:04:35.37\00:04:37.84 and to see how God was leading in their lives. 00:04:37.87\00:04:41.34 It was refreshing. Amen. 00:04:41.38\00:04:43.11 Yeah. 00:04:43.14\00:04:44.65 It's almost like you get 00:04:44.68\00:04:47.02 physical benefit from being here 00:04:47.05\00:04:49.15 but also a spiritual benefit. 00:04:49.18\00:04:50.85 Absolutely. Absolutely. Yeah. 00:04:50.89\00:04:54.26 I think it's important for our viewers 00:04:54.29\00:04:57.29 to know that because a lot of people think 00:04:57.33\00:05:00.56 what we do here is strictly lifestyle, 00:05:00.60\00:05:03.00 we come and we eat and we walk. 00:05:03.03\00:05:05.30 It's more than that as you just mentioned. 00:05:05.33\00:05:08.44 Yeah. 00:05:08.47\00:05:09.80 So did you do a fast by the way? 00:05:09.84\00:05:11.44 I did. 00:05:11.47\00:05:12.81 How was that? 00:05:12.84\00:05:16.41 You don't want to say? I'm glad I did it once. 00:05:16.44\00:05:18.81 You did only once. 00:05:18.85\00:05:20.75 You don't want to do it again? 00:05:20.78\00:05:22.55 Not today. Not today. 00:05:22.58\00:05:24.82 Yeah. Okay. 00:05:24.85\00:05:26.19 But, you know, it was good. 00:05:26.22\00:05:27.56 My lungs felt really good during the fast, 00:05:27.59\00:05:29.46 and I think that part of that had to do with my body 00:05:29.49\00:05:33.70 not having to deal with food 00:05:33.73\00:05:36.16 and was able to focus on trying to deal with that inflammation 00:05:36.20\00:05:41.34 that was taking place. 00:05:41.37\00:05:42.74 Absolutely, because your energy was taken away from digestion 00:05:42.77\00:05:48.68 and to dealing with the inflammation. 00:05:48.71\00:05:50.98 Yeah. Yeah. 00:05:51.01\00:05:52.78 Now you know about curcumin and turmeric? 00:05:52.81\00:05:55.58 Yes, I do. 00:05:55.62\00:05:56.95 You do? You shared that with me. 00:05:56.99\00:05:58.32 Oh, good. Oh, good. 00:05:58.35\00:05:59.69 I'm glad I did. Yeah. 00:05:59.72\00:06:01.06 That's really, really powerful. 00:06:01.09\00:06:02.42 And I am taking it. Oh, good. 00:06:02.46\00:06:04.26 Yeah. Excellent. 00:06:04.29\00:06:05.63 We had some at the market here? 00:06:05.66\00:06:08.03 They didn't have it. 00:06:08.06\00:06:09.70 They did not have it when I came. 00:06:09.73\00:06:11.07 Oh, okay. 00:06:11.10\00:06:12.43 And so someone went to town for me and picked it up. 00:06:12.47\00:06:15.30 Oh, good. Yeah. Excellent. 00:06:15.34\00:06:16.84 Yeah. Excellent. 00:06:16.87\00:06:18.77 Yeah. Okay. 00:06:18.81\00:06:20.14 So you're going to stick with the lifestyle 00:06:20.18\00:06:23.85 that you've learned here, correct? 00:06:23.88\00:06:26.15 I have to. 00:06:26.18\00:06:27.52 Right on. Yeah. 00:06:27.55\00:06:28.88 And you learned how to cook from Michelle, 00:06:28.92\00:06:31.75 what did you think of Michelle? 00:06:31.79\00:06:33.59 Well, she's got a lot of energy. 00:06:33.62\00:06:34.96 She's got a lot of energy. 00:06:34.99\00:06:37.16 Everybody says that about Michelle. 00:06:37.19\00:06:38.59 Yeah. She's pretty dynamic. 00:06:38.63\00:06:40.56 But I think she's also very passionate... 00:06:40.60\00:06:45.10 Yes. About why she's doing it... 00:06:45.13\00:06:47.57 And about us and wanting us to be successful. 00:06:47.60\00:06:52.37 That was really neat. Yeah. 00:06:52.41\00:06:54.48 I find that as a common denominator 00:06:54.51\00:06:57.28 with the entire staff. 00:06:57.31\00:06:59.48 With our nurses, our doctors, even the lady 00:06:59.51\00:07:04.62 that cleans the rooms, Dorothy. 00:07:04.65\00:07:06.32 Yes. 00:07:06.35\00:07:08.32 The students, everybody is part of this whole... 00:07:08.36\00:07:14.46 And Damon, God bless Damon. Yeah. 00:07:14.50\00:07:17.67 He's such a wonderful guy. 00:07:17.70\00:07:19.20 Did you had some nice one-on-one with him? 00:07:19.23\00:07:22.37 We had only one session together. 00:07:22.40\00:07:23.74 Only one? Yeah. 00:07:23.77\00:07:25.11 Oh, that's terrible. 00:07:25.14\00:07:26.47 Our schedules, you know, didn't match. 00:07:26.51\00:07:27.84 Okay. 00:07:27.88\00:07:29.74 But it was good and, you know, it's really neat 00:07:29.78\00:07:33.42 when you're out there walking 00:07:33.45\00:07:35.08 and you see the staff doing it together, 00:07:35.12\00:07:38.29 you know, as a team. 00:07:38.32\00:07:39.65 Yes. 00:07:39.69\00:07:41.02 It's not like they're, you know, 00:07:41.06\00:07:42.42 cracking the whip and telling you to do things 00:07:42.46\00:07:45.36 that they don't do themselves. 00:07:45.39\00:07:46.83 That's right. 00:07:46.86\00:07:48.20 You know, we're all practicing the same principles together. 00:07:48.23\00:07:50.90 That's right. Yeah. 00:07:50.93\00:07:52.27 That's good. Yeah. 00:07:52.30\00:07:53.64 And your water consumption, has that increased? 00:07:53.67\00:07:56.94 Yes. Good. 00:07:56.97\00:07:58.91 When I was talking to Beth on the phone 00:07:58.94\00:08:01.54 before coming here, 00:08:01.58\00:08:03.31 she asked me, "Do you drink a lot of water?" 00:08:03.35\00:08:05.85 I said, "Yes." 00:08:05.88\00:08:07.42 And I got here and I realized I don't or I didn't. 00:08:07.45\00:08:13.69 What I thought was a lot was just before breakfast here. 00:08:13.72\00:08:18.83 My wife keeps telling me, "Have you drank enough water?" 00:08:18.86\00:08:21.46 "Oh, yeah." 00:08:21.50\00:08:22.83 I never drink enough water, even after I learn. 00:08:22.86\00:08:26.00 It's difficult for me sometimes. 00:08:26.03\00:08:29.44 It is. But I have to push myself. 00:08:29.47\00:08:31.21 You have to put it on your schedule. 00:08:31.24\00:08:32.94 That's right. Yeah. 00:08:32.97\00:08:34.31 And just keep doing it all day. 00:08:34.34\00:08:35.68 Just keep doing it, yeah. 00:08:35.71\00:08:37.05 So, Danny, will you be going back to work 00:08:37.08\00:08:39.31 when you get back home? 00:08:39.35\00:08:40.78 Yes. 00:08:40.82\00:08:42.15 And what do you do for a living? 00:08:42.18\00:08:43.52 I'm a pastor. You're a pastor. 00:08:43.55\00:08:45.65 Of course, I knew that. 00:08:45.69\00:08:47.19 But I wanted our guests 00:08:47.22\00:08:48.86 or people watching to know that. 00:08:48.89\00:08:51.13 So we get pastors here 00:08:51.16\00:08:52.49 from all over the country. 00:08:52.53\00:08:53.90 In fact, we had two pastors 00:08:53.93\00:08:57.67 from Puerto Rico two sessions ago. 00:08:57.70\00:09:00.07 Oh. Yeah. 00:09:00.10\00:09:01.54 Yeah, I'm from Puerto Rico originally, yeah. 00:09:01.57\00:09:05.24 I thought so. Yeah. 00:09:05.27\00:09:06.68 And these were wonderful men as you are. 00:09:06.71\00:09:09.74 And I appreciate you, Danny, 00:09:09.78\00:09:11.45 and I feel a special connection with you. 00:09:11.48\00:09:15.02 And I think it's that place inside of you 00:09:15.05\00:09:18.15 that is very familiar to me. 00:09:18.19\00:09:20.89 I want to thank you for opening up your life 00:09:20.92\00:09:24.56 and your testimony 00:09:24.59\00:09:26.26 and sharing it with everyone viewing. 00:09:26.29\00:09:28.86 And God bless you, brother. Thank you. 00:09:28.90\00:09:30.53 We'll stay in touch, okay? 00:09:30.57\00:09:32.57 Yeah, it's been my pleasure, and I can't thank God enough 00:09:32.60\00:09:37.41 to be able to have this experience 00:09:37.44\00:09:38.77 and to go through the program 00:09:38.81\00:09:41.44 and receive the healing already. 00:09:41.48\00:09:44.21 And I know He's got a lot more to do. 00:09:44.25\00:09:47.62 And, friends, thank you, but don't go away 00:09:47.65\00:09:50.12 because Pastor Snead is up next. 00:09:50.15\00:09:52.32 Welcome back, friends. 00:09:55.56\00:09:57.23 Pastor Damon, how are you brother? 00:09:57.26\00:09:59.39 I'm doing well. Good to see you. 00:09:59.43\00:10:02.26 You know, I was thinking 00:10:02.30\00:10:05.43 if I were a pastor or a chaplain 00:10:05.47\00:10:09.30 and I was going to be meeting 00:10:09.34\00:10:15.18 with another pastor or chaplain 00:10:15.21\00:10:17.15 that's come to this program, what do you do? 00:10:17.18\00:10:20.35 I mean, you know, 00:10:20.38\00:10:22.82 are they kind of like on guard or was he... 00:10:22.85\00:10:27.06 Well, Danny is a pretty nice guy. 00:10:27.09\00:10:29.29 Daniel wasn't but many are. 00:10:29.32\00:10:35.00 Some like to play little games, huh? 00:10:35.03\00:10:38.37 Yeah, yeah, yeah. But this guy is pretty... 00:10:38.40\00:10:41.10 Tell us a little bit about Danny. 00:10:41.14\00:10:43.67 We know he had a breathing problem 00:10:43.71\00:10:45.67 and we know that he's doing better, 00:10:45.71\00:10:50.11 but what about his spiritual walk? 00:10:50.15\00:10:52.71 I mean pastors have... 00:10:52.75\00:10:57.02 They have problems, don't they? 00:10:57.05\00:10:58.69 Don't you? 00:10:58.72\00:11:01.39 I got a load of them. All pastors do. 00:11:01.42\00:11:04.09 You can't be in this business, and not... 00:11:04.13\00:11:07.93 And not suffer. 00:11:07.96\00:11:09.30 In a lot of ways, 00:11:09.33\00:11:10.80 your health is one of the first things to go. 00:11:10.83\00:11:13.13 You're so busy taking care of other people all the time. 00:11:13.17\00:11:16.91 And a lot of my pastor friends know this, 00:11:16.94\00:11:19.17 you're out working, 00:11:19.21\00:11:20.54 working, working, working for God, 00:11:20.58\00:11:22.14 and all of a sudden you wake up one day 00:11:22.18\00:11:23.61 and you got problems, you got issues. 00:11:23.65\00:11:26.72 And even Danny, when he was here, 00:11:26.75\00:11:29.38 you know, he sick, he's got some issues, 00:11:29.42\00:11:31.55 but he was still pastoring, 00:11:31.59\00:11:33.86 he was still helping those people. 00:11:33.89\00:11:35.52 You know, I don't always click 00:11:35.56\00:11:37.03 with every single person there, and that group of people 00:11:37.06\00:11:40.63 that I really wasn't able to get in with, 00:11:40.66\00:11:44.70 he was there ministering, befriending, working with. 00:11:44.73\00:11:48.27 That's his instincts, right? 00:11:48.30\00:11:49.64 Yeah, that's right, that's right. 00:11:49.67\00:11:51.34 And so my heart goes out to these guys 00:11:51.37\00:11:53.07 when they start to break down and they start to get sick 00:11:53.11\00:11:55.91 because I understand what that's like. 00:11:55.94\00:11:58.45 Well, apparently, his meetings with you went very well 00:11:58.48\00:12:02.95 because I see a change in him. 00:12:02.98\00:12:05.79 Not that, you know, 00:12:05.82\00:12:07.36 I saw anything terribly bad to begin with, 00:12:07.39\00:12:10.63 but I saw a man that needed help. 00:12:10.66\00:12:13.90 And, of course, 00:12:13.93\00:12:15.96 you taking care of the spiritual component, 00:12:16.00\00:12:18.93 our doctors taking care of the medical side, 00:12:18.97\00:12:22.34 and our nurses may be a little physical, 00:12:22.37\00:12:25.21 the whole program. 00:12:25.24\00:12:27.71 Sure, and then nurses, don't let them fool you, 00:12:27.74\00:12:29.74 they're working spiritual too. 00:12:29.78\00:12:31.11 And the therapists, they're working, 00:12:31.15\00:12:33.01 we're all working kind of both sides 00:12:33.05\00:12:36.28 but with our specialty on one side. 00:12:36.32\00:12:38.42 Right. Yeah. 00:12:38.45\00:12:39.79 And with Danny, you know, 00:12:39.82\00:12:41.96 it is tough being a pastor losing your health. 00:12:41.99\00:12:44.69 Boy. 00:12:44.73\00:12:46.06 If you can't breathe from the pulpit, 00:12:46.09\00:12:48.16 it's difficult to preach. 00:12:48.20\00:12:50.03 And if your health gets out of shape 00:12:50.07\00:12:51.43 and hospital stays, 00:12:51.47\00:12:52.93 it gets difficult to minister to others 00:12:52.97\00:12:55.94 when you yourself are getting sick. 00:12:55.97\00:12:57.97 And one thing I was really glad to see him and other pastors 00:12:58.01\00:13:00.78 that's come this way is that they recognize this 00:13:00.81\00:13:04.75 and they know that if they're going to stay busy 00:13:04.78\00:13:06.98 working for the Lord, 00:13:07.02\00:13:08.35 they've got to get that health under control. 00:13:08.38\00:13:10.32 You got to get that lung capacity back, 00:13:10.35\00:13:12.49 you've got to get that vibrancy back, 00:13:12.52\00:13:13.92 and you got to have a good mental outlook. 00:13:13.96\00:13:15.99 You get sick, you just lose, you get discouraged. 00:13:16.02\00:13:19.76 And so he was here and gaining that back, 00:13:19.79\00:13:22.83 I mean feeling better, 00:13:22.86\00:13:24.23 you could see him as he's progressing 00:13:24.27\00:13:25.67 towards the end, 00:13:25.70\00:13:27.07 he's smiling, he's working, 00:13:27.10\00:13:28.44 he's doing what pastors do when they get healthy. 00:13:28.47\00:13:31.17 But they got to stay healthy and get healthy. 00:13:31.21\00:13:34.48 And you taught him how to do that, right? 00:13:34.51\00:13:36.54 Well, the doctors had a big part with that. 00:13:36.58\00:13:38.28 He had a great spiritual outlook already. 00:13:38.31\00:13:40.82 Yeah, I kind of thought so. 00:13:40.85\00:13:43.25 And I appreciate that and recognize that in guys, 00:13:43.28\00:13:46.29 you know, so the time that I've spent 00:13:46.32\00:13:47.82 with him has really just helping him to... 00:13:47.86\00:13:50.46 any other ways that I can as a pastor, 00:13:50.49\00:13:53.83 you know, I know the pressures 00:13:53.86\00:13:55.20 that them guys are under 00:13:55.23\00:13:56.77 and they can reveal things and share things that, 00:13:56.80\00:13:58.93 you know, we don't want to talk about, 00:13:58.97\00:14:00.40 but that's really about all I could do for him 00:14:00.44\00:14:04.71 is just be a friend to him, a fellow pastor. 00:14:04.74\00:14:07.34 But to see him, those numbers coming down, 00:14:07.38\00:14:10.28 and knowing that his 00:14:10.31\00:14:11.65 inflammation levels are shrinking, 00:14:11.68\00:14:13.11 which means his lung capacity is coming back 00:14:13.15\00:14:15.48 and he'll be back in step doing God's work in time. 00:14:15.52\00:14:20.52 You know, I can relate 00:14:20.56\00:14:21.89 to how the health can deteriorate 00:14:21.92\00:14:25.96 when you're on the job 00:14:25.99\00:14:27.50 because when I first got on the job here, 00:14:27.53\00:14:32.03 I let my health kind of go down 00:14:32.07\00:14:33.87 a little bit and I started noticing it, 00:14:33.90\00:14:36.10 so I had to make some changes 00:14:36.14\00:14:38.27 and get my priorities straight again. 00:14:38.31\00:14:40.98 Not that I ever left the program 00:14:41.01\00:14:43.08 but I stopped walking as much as I should be. 00:14:43.11\00:14:47.55 You know, I don't know where the time goes, 00:14:47.58\00:14:49.65 but we're running out of time. 00:14:49.68\00:14:51.25 Thank you so much, pastor. God bless you. 00:14:51.29\00:14:54.26 Don't go away, we'll be right back. 00:14:54.29\00:14:56.32 Every year in America, 00:14:59.53\00:15:00.86 there are over one million deaths 00:15:00.90\00:15:02.23 because of type 2 diabetes and chronic obesity. 00:15:02.26\00:15:05.17 This includes heart attacks and strokes. 00:15:05.20\00:15:07.57 That's 6.5 747s crashing every day. 00:15:07.60\00:15:11.17 What's even worse is that the fix is easy. 00:15:11.21\00:15:14.48 It's your lifestyle. 00:15:14.51\00:15:16.14 Wouldn't it be nice if you could actually add 00:15:16.18\00:15:18.01 quality years to your life 00:15:18.05\00:15:19.38 rather than dying one organ at a time? 00:15:19.41\00:15:21.48 Obesity and diabetes 00:15:21.52\00:15:23.49 are the cause of over a million deaths per year. 00:15:23.52\00:15:26.55 Most diseases are reversible 00:15:26.59\00:15:28.69 because most diseases are lifestyle diseases, 00:15:28.72\00:15:31.56 especially type 2 diabetes and chronic obesity. 00:15:31.59\00:15:35.03 Seriously now, they can be reversed 00:15:35.06\00:15:37.30 and the quality of your life can be renewed. 00:15:37.33\00:15:40.77 Call NEWSTART Today at 1-800-525-9192. 00:15:40.80\00:15:47.08 You will see dramatic changes 00:15:47.11\00:15:48.44 in the first few days at our program 00:15:48.48\00:15:50.51 and you will be on the road 00:15:50.55\00:15:51.88 to a better, more robust quality of life. 00:15:51.91\00:15:54.68 The NEWSTART programs are simple and effective. 00:15:54.72\00:15:57.59 Welcome back, friends, 00:16:00.52\00:16:01.86 help me welcome Dr. Roger Gallant. 00:16:01.89\00:16:03.76 Ron, good to see you. 00:16:03.79\00:16:05.13 It's good to see you too, doc, 00:16:05.16\00:16:06.49 especially I know you're such busy guy. 00:16:06.53\00:16:09.20 Unfortunately, I am. I work Sundays. 00:16:48.27\00:16:49.87 I didn't know doctors work Sundays. 00:16:49.90\00:16:52.17 Hey, we've got to try to get 00:16:52.21\00:16:53.54 the patients here when we can. 00:16:53.58\00:16:57.08 Oh, you know, this is a good thing. 00:16:57.11\00:16:59.51 Amen. Yeah. 00:16:59.55\00:17:01.28 So I want to just lead you into Danny 00:17:01.32\00:17:05.62 because I kind of think... 00:17:05.65\00:17:08.29 I really, really like this guy. 00:17:08.32\00:17:10.16 He's a great guy. He's a great guy, 00:17:10.19\00:17:12.29 he's real lovable, he's very kind, very generous, 00:17:12.33\00:17:16.36 and I've seen some things happen, 00:17:16.40\00:17:19.23 but I don't know anything about this kind of illness 00:17:19.27\00:17:22.00 because it's rare, I've never seen it before. 00:17:22.04\00:17:24.97 And of course... 00:17:25.01\00:17:26.34 Let me tell you, first of all, let me just say this... 00:17:26.37\00:17:29.74 Danny is a pastor. Yes. 00:17:29.78\00:17:32.45 And I have a burden for pastors 00:17:32.48\00:17:35.28 because I have seen so many pastors 00:17:35.32\00:17:38.25 who are in ill health, 00:17:38.29\00:17:42.52 and if the shepherd is sick, 00:17:42.56\00:17:45.43 he can't attend to the flock. 00:17:45.46\00:17:47.30 Amen. 00:17:47.33\00:17:48.70 And I believe that the enemy 00:17:48.73\00:17:50.10 tries to keep the shepherd sick 00:17:50.13\00:17:53.44 so the flock flounders a little bit. 00:17:53.47\00:17:56.07 You know, I couldn't agree more. 00:17:56.10\00:17:57.77 I see that. 00:17:57.81\00:17:59.14 Yeah, so, you know, traveling all over the world, 00:17:59.17\00:18:02.04 I've seen pastors 00:18:02.08\00:18:03.41 who have these health challenges 00:18:03.45\00:18:05.41 and just are not as well as they should be. 00:18:05.45\00:18:08.52 Do you think it's because they're so busy monitoring 00:18:08.55\00:18:12.65 and herding the flock 00:18:12.69\00:18:14.89 that they forget their own health? 00:18:14.92\00:18:16.73 Is that the deal or... 00:18:16.76\00:18:18.09 I think it's more than that. 00:18:18.13\00:18:19.46 That may be the case in some situations, 00:18:19.49\00:18:21.46 but I think as well that they're under attack, 00:18:21.50\00:18:25.77 you know, and so it's just hard, but... 00:18:25.80\00:18:28.44 Well, when they become weakened though, 00:18:28.47\00:18:31.01 because of their overindulgence... 00:18:31.04\00:18:33.68 So they may create an opportunity for an attack, 00:18:33.71\00:18:38.81 you know, if they're... 00:18:38.85\00:18:40.95 We can do it to ourselves too as physicians. 00:18:40.98\00:18:43.28 Oh, yeah, I've seen you guys do... 00:18:43.32\00:18:45.09 Yeah. So we got to be careful. 00:18:45.12\00:18:46.45 But Pastor Danny, a great guy, 00:18:46.49\00:18:49.22 he came to us with pericarditis, 00:18:49.26\00:18:52.93 which is an inflammation of the sack around the heart. 00:18:52.96\00:18:57.83 Oh, the pericardium. Yeah, exactly and... 00:18:57.87\00:19:00.34 Gee, I knew something about it. 00:19:00.37\00:19:02.34 And his doctor was recommending 00:19:02.37\00:19:06.04 that he go on some anti-inflammatory medicines 00:19:06.07\00:19:09.54 and do some things that he was reluctant to do, 00:19:09.58\00:19:12.35 which I understand. 00:19:12.38\00:19:14.02 And so he came to me. 00:19:14.05\00:19:15.92 Now I've got to be honest, 00:19:15.95\00:19:18.52 we don't see a lot of pericarditis 00:19:18.55\00:19:20.12 as you just said. 00:19:20.16\00:19:21.82 And I personally have not treated one 00:19:21.86\00:19:25.16 at NEWSTART before. 00:19:25.19\00:19:27.36 I know the way to treat it from the world's perspective. 00:19:27.40\00:19:31.80 As an ER doc? 00:19:31.83\00:19:33.17 As an ER doctor or as an allopathic doctor. 00:19:33.20\00:19:36.00 But not from a natural remedies perspective. 00:19:36.04\00:19:42.01 So how'd you deal with that? 00:19:42.04\00:19:43.61 So here's the catch, 00:19:43.65\00:19:45.88 here's the caveat of this whole thing. 00:19:45.91\00:19:49.28 We treated him using God's plan 00:19:49.32\00:19:53.25 just like we treat everybody else. 00:19:53.29\00:19:55.66 Amen. Amen. 00:19:55.69\00:19:57.66 Praise the Lord. 00:19:57.69\00:19:59.19 I'm telling you, people ask me, they'll call in and say, 00:19:59.23\00:20:02.80 "Well, do you guys do this and do you guys do that?" 00:20:02.83\00:20:05.70 I said, "Look, 00:20:05.73\00:20:07.27 I never even heard of what's going on with you, 00:20:07.30\00:20:09.24 but I can tell you this, 00:20:09.27\00:20:10.64 I've never seen anybody come here not get better." 00:20:10.67\00:20:13.64 Well, praise the Lord. Praise the Lord. 00:20:13.68\00:20:15.31 Amen. 00:20:15.34\00:20:16.68 So we had him change his lifestyle 00:20:16.71\00:20:22.62 and we had him incorporate 00:20:22.65\00:20:25.12 some herbs and different things to help with inflammation. 00:20:25.15\00:20:28.99 And at the end of the program, 00:20:29.02\00:20:32.83 his inflammation marker 00:20:32.86\00:20:35.13 dropped by 90%. 00:20:35.16\00:20:38.90 Wow. 00:20:38.93\00:20:40.27 From a 126 to 12. 00:20:40.30\00:20:43.61 Almost down to normal. 00:20:43.64\00:20:45.14 Almost to normal, yeah. 00:20:45.17\00:20:46.51 Wow. 00:20:46.54\00:20:47.88 And it was amazing. And that's in 16 days? 00:20:47.91\00:20:51.31 Yeah, 18 days, yeah. 00:20:51.35\00:20:53.08 Oh, my goodness, isn't that something? 00:20:53.11\00:20:55.55 But the blood tests you write are drawn in two weeks apart, 00:20:55.58\00:20:58.22 14 days. 00:20:58.25\00:20:59.59 But, you know, initially, 00:20:59.62\00:21:01.22 we said we're going to do this and do this, 00:21:01.26\00:21:03.99 and we're going to try this, and we're going to see 00:21:04.03\00:21:05.56 how the Lord works through this. 00:21:05.59\00:21:08.13 And initially, he wasn't sure 00:21:08.16\00:21:09.80 that things were getting better. 00:21:09.83\00:21:12.33 But in the middle of the week, the next week, I was like, 00:21:12.37\00:21:15.87 "How are you doing?" 00:21:15.90\00:21:17.24 "Oh, I feel so much better, 00:21:17.27\00:21:19.37 my shortness of breath is improved, 00:21:19.41\00:21:21.48 I can walk, I'm not having these aches and pains, 00:21:21.51\00:21:24.58 I'm feeling better, I'm not having chest pain." 00:21:24.61\00:21:27.25 Oh, praise God. Praise the Lord. 00:21:27.28\00:21:30.09 You know, that's the beauty of God's plan. 00:21:30.12\00:21:32.19 We have patients, as you say, 00:21:32.22\00:21:33.56 who come with many different ailments. 00:21:33.59\00:21:35.76 And by God's grace, 00:21:35.79\00:21:38.03 He is able to use His simple natural remedies 00:21:38.06\00:21:41.60 to bring them health and healing. 00:21:41.63\00:21:44.93 I love those words. 00:21:44.97\00:21:47.24 You know, we're almost out of time. 00:21:47.27\00:21:49.77 And I want to thank you again, I do, 00:21:49.80\00:21:51.84 I kind of joked a little bit, but I know you're busy. 00:21:51.87\00:21:54.91 You don't have much time today? 00:21:54.94\00:21:56.31 No. 00:21:56.34\00:21:57.68 So I want to thank you for coming. 00:21:57.71\00:21:59.25 Good to see you, Ron. And God bless you. 00:21:59.28\00:22:00.62 God bless you too. 00:22:00.65\00:22:02.38 Don't go away, we'll be right back. 00:22:02.42\00:22:05.22 Welcome to Weimar College update. 00:22:40.72\00:22:43.69 Glad you joined us today. 00:22:43.73\00:22:45.26 And there is a lot happening at Weimar College. 00:22:45.29\00:22:47.83 It's a true higher education institution, 00:22:47.86\00:22:50.67 a lot of people aren't aware 00:22:50.70\00:22:52.03 that we offer a four-year degree 00:22:52.07\00:22:54.34 with fully transferable credits to major universities. 00:22:54.37\00:22:59.34 We have the highest rate of acceptance 00:22:59.37\00:23:01.01 into US medical schools, 00:23:01.04\00:23:02.64 highest rates of publishing in the peer review literature 00:23:02.68\00:23:06.55 for our pre-med program, we have a nursing program 00:23:06.58\00:23:09.38 that is above the typical RN program 00:23:09.42\00:23:14.76 with tremendous job offers 00:23:14.79\00:23:17.03 for those that come out of our nursing program. 00:23:17.06\00:23:19.79 And we also have a program 00:23:19.83\00:23:22.03 that emphasizes education and music, 00:23:22.06\00:23:24.63 psychology, a business program 00:23:24.67\00:23:27.20 as well for healthcare administration. 00:23:27.24\00:23:30.11 And so you want to check out 00:23:30.14\00:23:31.51 Weimar Institute if you are in... 00:23:31.54\00:23:33.71 Weimar College if you're interested, 00:23:33.74\00:23:35.64 if you know of anyone 00:23:35.68\00:23:37.01 who wants to get a top-level education 00:23:37.05\00:23:39.95 because Weimar Institute 00:23:39.98\00:23:41.72 and a third-party analysis of all universities was shown 00:23:41.75\00:23:44.85 to be the number one 00:23:44.89\00:23:46.49 and students being able to solve 00:23:46.52\00:23:48.99 real-world complex problems. 00:23:49.02\00:23:51.39 But today, I have Don Mackintosh 00:23:51.43\00:23:55.30 who is the head of the Religion Department. 00:23:55.33\00:23:57.50 We not only have all these health things at Weimar, 00:23:57.53\00:24:00.34 and of course Weimar's vision is healing a hurting world. 00:24:00.37\00:24:04.37 But we also have a religion program 00:24:04.41\00:24:06.61 and a theology program. 00:24:06.64\00:24:07.98 Tell us about that. 00:24:08.01\00:24:09.74 Well, yes. Thanks for having me. 00:24:09.78\00:24:12.21 We have a religion program 00:24:12.25\00:24:14.22 which focuses more on the practical side of things, 00:24:14.25\00:24:16.55 they take essentially the same classes as theology, 00:24:16.58\00:24:19.99 the difference would be, 00:24:20.02\00:24:21.59 in the religion program, we have a semester called 00:24:21.62\00:24:24.49 "the health program", and so a part of that program 00:24:24.53\00:24:26.83 was that we learned how to do practical things in churches, 00:24:26.86\00:24:30.63 maybe running a community-based depression recovery program, 00:24:30.67\00:24:34.07 running various cooking schools. 00:24:34.10\00:24:35.57 Actually everybody that graduates 00:24:35.60\00:24:36.94 from that program learns at least 25 recipes themselves, 00:24:36.97\00:24:40.78 they learn how to be health coaches 00:24:40.81\00:24:42.21 that can help, stop, and reverse, 00:24:42.24\00:24:43.75 better yet prevent the common killers in America, 00:24:43.78\00:24:47.68 and you teach that class, principles in health. 00:24:47.72\00:24:50.52 So things like diabetes, hypertension, heart disease, 00:24:50.55\00:24:54.22 and then, of course, 00:24:54.26\00:24:55.59 all the things dealing with mental health 00:24:55.62\00:24:57.16 and not only what the problem is 00:24:57.19\00:24:58.69 but what the solution is based on lifestyle approaches, 00:24:58.73\00:25:02.56 and it's good for pastors, 00:25:02.60\00:25:03.93 we're told, to know anatomy and physiology, 00:25:03.97\00:25:05.97 we learn a little bit of that 00:25:06.00\00:25:07.70 as well in the religion program. 00:25:07.74\00:25:09.87 So the religion program, 00:25:09.90\00:25:12.87 again, like the theology program, 00:25:12.91\00:25:15.04 but it deliberately rotates students 00:25:15.08\00:25:18.65 through things like the NEWSTART Program, 00:25:18.68\00:25:20.22 a 19-day lifestyle program, 00:25:20.25\00:25:22.15 and through the depression recovery program, 00:25:22.18\00:25:24.35 a 10-day lifestyle program 00:25:24.39\00:25:26.05 that's held five times a year on the campus. 00:25:26.09\00:25:28.26 And so our religion students, 00:25:28.29\00:25:30.53 when they reach their junior and senior year especially, 00:25:30.56\00:25:33.33 they rotate through these different things 00:25:33.36\00:25:34.86 and they see how the Bible is practically applied 00:25:34.90\00:25:38.67 in people's lives. 00:25:38.70\00:25:40.24 That's the religion program. 00:25:40.27\00:25:42.47 Well, great. Now that's pretty unique. 00:25:42.50\00:25:44.57 I don't know of any other place in North America 00:25:44.61\00:25:47.21 where you can get a religion program 00:25:47.24\00:25:49.34 with that type of emphasis in not only healing the soul 00:25:49.38\00:25:53.88 but involved in healing of the body and the mind. 00:25:53.92\00:25:56.95 Oh, exactly, and I think the other unique thing is that, 00:25:56.99\00:25:59.82 you know, we have basically three circles 00:25:59.85\00:26:02.52 if I'm drawing it on the board and one is NEWSTART, 00:26:02.56\00:26:06.03 one is depression recovery, and one is our local clinic. 00:26:06.06\00:26:09.26 So we not only go around the world 00:26:09.30\00:26:10.80 with the NEWSTART Program 00:26:10.83\00:26:12.17 and the depression recovery program 00:26:12.20\00:26:13.54 but also across the street with the clinic 00:26:13.57\00:26:15.37 and our students in theology 00:26:15.40\00:26:17.41 and religion rotate through those 00:26:17.44\00:26:19.37 and they see how to apply that. 00:26:19.41\00:26:20.98 But in the center of those three circles is the church. 00:26:21.01\00:26:24.85 And we're told that 00:26:24.88\00:26:26.75 those that are training for the medical missionary work 00:26:26.78\00:26:30.15 can't really do that effectively 00:26:30.19\00:26:31.52 if they're not working with a local church, 00:26:31.55\00:26:32.92 and that's the reason we started a local church here 00:26:32.95\00:26:35.62 that's kind of a lab sewing both the theological side, 00:26:35.66\00:26:40.60 we might say orthodoxy along with orthopraxy. 00:26:40.63\00:26:43.60 So not just knowing 00:26:43.63\00:26:44.97 what orthodox doctrine is based on the scriptures 00:26:45.00\00:26:47.84 but how it's put into practice. 00:26:47.87\00:26:49.47 And that's especially on profile 00:26:49.50\00:26:51.41 in the religion program. 00:26:51.44\00:26:52.77 Now many people that go through the religion program, 00:26:52.81\00:26:55.31 we now have a number of them that are taking double majors 00:26:55.34\00:26:57.55 in nursing so they can be not only a pastor but a nurse, 00:26:57.58\00:27:00.25 or like I like to say a purse. So they can pay their own bills 00:27:00.28\00:27:04.09 while they may be planting a church. 00:27:04.12\00:27:06.02 They don't have to necessarily be 00:27:06.05\00:27:07.39 basing their career on tithe going forward 00:27:07.42\00:27:09.76 because we know that we're not going to be 00:27:09.79\00:27:11.13 able to buy or sell, but the last minister 00:27:11.16\00:27:13.60 standing will either be in jail ministries 00:27:13.63\00:27:16.97 or medical ministry outside, 00:27:17.00\00:27:19.53 and I believe that's going to be 00:27:19.57\00:27:20.90 right up to the end of time. 00:27:20.94\00:27:22.27 And so, you know, of course, we don't want the church 00:27:22.30\00:27:26.54 to not be able to pay ministers, 00:27:26.57\00:27:28.71 but the reality is that we've come to that time 00:27:28.74\00:27:32.48 when we need to be able to feed ourselves 00:27:32.51\00:27:34.85 and there's a high demand for healthcare and taking care 00:27:34.88\00:27:38.79 of people's medical and health needs. 00:27:38.82\00:27:41.12 Well, I'm excited about what you're doing 00:27:41.16\00:27:42.72 with the religion and the theology programs 00:27:42.76\00:27:45.19 at Weimar Institute, 00:27:45.23\00:27:46.63 and it's also not only introducing them to health 00:27:46.66\00:27:49.23 but how to take people from health to him, 00:27:49.26\00:27:52.10 and it's one of the reasons 00:27:52.13\00:27:53.47 why Weimar has the highest baptisms 00:27:53.50\00:27:56.07 and conversion rate really of any community per capita 00:27:56.10\00:28:01.61 right now in North America. 00:28:01.64\00:28:04.61 And so if you want to spread the good news, 00:28:04.65\00:28:09.28 find out about Weimar College religion and theology programs. 00:28:09.32\00:28:14.79
