Hi, friends, and welcome 00:01:11.93\00:01:13.27 to another edition of NEWSTART Now. 00:01:13.30\00:01:15.87 I'm your host Ron Giannoni. 00:01:15.90\00:01:18.31 In our studios with me I have a lovely young lady, 00:01:18.34\00:01:21.78 Michelle Irwin who just happens to be 00:01:21.81\00:01:24.81 on staff here at the NEWSTART program 00:01:24.85\00:01:28.12 but she's also a guest. 00:01:28.15\00:01:30.19 Let's take a look when she first arrived. 00:01:30.22\00:01:35.82 When I came to Weimar 00:01:35.86\00:01:37.23 to work here as a cooking instructor, 00:01:37.26\00:01:38.99 I had really good intentions with my health. 00:01:39.03\00:01:43.63 I am a single mom and busy of always 00:01:43.67\00:01:47.34 with two little children. 00:01:47.37\00:01:49.80 My husband was killed six years ago. 00:01:49.84\00:01:53.01 And I think I just put my health 00:01:53.04\00:01:57.98 in the back seat 00:01:58.01\00:01:59.35 and so I'm here to really work on getting my health back. 00:01:59.38\00:02:03.75 As moms we tend to take care of everything, 00:02:03.79\00:02:07.02 and life gets really busy, 00:02:07.06\00:02:09.39 and we don't take care of ourselves. 00:02:09.42\00:02:11.66 And I think for me personally I would like to work 00:02:11.69\00:02:17.10 on the trust aspect of NEWSTART, 00:02:17.13\00:02:22.10 trusting God that He has our health 00:02:22.14\00:02:24.44 and our life in His hands, spending more time in His Word, 00:02:24.47\00:02:30.41 also walking, I have a tendency to do more for my, 00:02:30.45\00:02:36.82 you know, household 00:02:36.85\00:02:38.19 than actually spend time to go out and physically walk. 00:02:38.22\00:02:41.66 Drinking water, 00:02:41.69\00:02:43.46 I have a tendency of not drinking enough water 00:02:43.49\00:02:45.69 and even though I'm a cooking instructor 00:02:45.73\00:02:47.76 and I know how to make good food, 00:02:47.80\00:02:49.66 I don't necessarily always have the right schedule when I eat. 00:02:49.70\00:02:55.27 And so eating breakfast has been something I don't do. 00:02:55.30\00:02:58.87 And I'm coming to NEWSTART 00:02:58.91\00:03:00.91 to really learn a new way of eating, 00:03:00.94\00:03:03.38 walking and making time for all of those things 00:03:03.41\00:03:06.01 that the NEWSTART principles mean. 00:03:06.05\00:03:10.09 And I want to live it, I want to be an example 00:03:10.12\00:03:13.05 so that when I'm telling people to do it, 00:03:13.09\00:03:15.46 they'll believe me because I'm doing it too. 00:03:15.49\00:03:17.96 So that's what I'm working on. 00:03:17.99\00:03:19.83 So what I hope to come away with is 00:03:19.86\00:03:22.90 for me personally balance 00:03:22.93\00:03:25.30 and really making the NEWSTART principles work, 00:03:25.33\00:03:28.17 I want to lose weight. 00:03:28.20\00:03:29.54 Of course, that's something you can see right away, 00:03:29.57\00:03:33.11 but more importantly I want to establish a habit 00:03:33.14\00:03:36.38 so that it's not you're constantly 00:03:36.41\00:03:38.58 trying to lose weight, it's just my weight, 00:03:38.61\00:03:40.85 it's going to be where it needs to be. 00:03:40.88\00:03:43.52 And my walking will just be like breathing, 00:03:43.55\00:03:46.15 it will be all of those things where I'm not trying to do it. 00:03:46.19\00:03:49.32 It just becomes part of my life. 00:03:49.36\00:03:51.79 So that's what I want to accomplish. 00:03:51.83\00:03:53.46 Welcome back friends in our studio. 00:03:57.20\00:03:59.13 Michelle. Hi. Nice to see you, Ron. 00:03:59.17\00:04:00.57 What a grip? Easy girl, easy. 00:04:00.60\00:04:04.81 I got my strength back. I know. 00:04:04.84\00:04:08.04 Now, you're just glowing and I love it. 00:04:08.08\00:04:10.35 I love it, yeah. Yeah. 00:04:10.38\00:04:11.71 You know, we talked a little bit 00:04:11.75\00:04:13.58 before the interview, 00:04:13.62\00:04:15.35 the audience should know that, 00:04:15.38\00:04:17.09 there are several things you said to me 00:04:17.12\00:04:19.49 and I'd like you to say them again 00:04:19.52\00:04:21.89 so, you know, the reason why we do 00:04:21.92\00:04:24.19 these programs is so the viewers out 00:04:24.23\00:04:27.13 there will be blessed by what they're hearing. 00:04:27.16\00:04:30.50 And I want to preface it with the following. 00:04:30.53\00:04:33.27 Now Michelle is our... 00:04:33.30\00:04:36.20 You're our school... 00:04:36.24\00:04:37.57 You're our cooking... 00:04:37.61\00:04:38.94 Cooking school instructor. School instructor. 00:04:38.97\00:04:41.21 And Michelle knows more about food 00:04:41.24\00:04:43.24 than any ten people, but she just said to me, 00:04:43.28\00:04:46.61 what did you say about what you've learned? 00:04:46.65\00:04:49.78 I learned so much about food as medicine. 00:04:49.82\00:04:53.42 And I think a lot of us eat to feel comfort, 00:04:53.46\00:04:56.99 but we know that God is our comforter 00:04:57.03\00:04:59.16 and we shouldn't turn to our food. 00:04:59.19\00:05:01.63 I learned that we should be eating two meals a day 00:05:01.66\00:05:04.43 and eating them at the right time. 00:05:04.47\00:05:06.43 Breakfast and lunch and we're skipping dinner. 00:05:06.47\00:05:10.81 And don't you get hungry? Amazingly, you do not. 00:05:10.84\00:05:13.68 Really? You do not. 00:05:13.71\00:05:15.04 And I was not hungry, not once. 00:05:15.08\00:05:17.38 And at first I thought there's no way 00:05:17.41\00:05:20.22 I'm going to be able to do this. 00:05:20.25\00:05:22.25 I'm a chef, I want to taste food, right? 00:05:22.28\00:05:25.35 So I was amazed and just amazed 00:05:25.39\00:05:28.62 at the simplicity of how good food tastes, 00:05:28.66\00:05:31.73 just the simple foods. 00:05:31.76\00:05:33.76 Isn't that amazing? Right. 00:05:33.80\00:05:35.13 I'm blown away. Definitely. 00:05:35.16\00:05:37.57 That's so good to hear you're saying that. 00:05:37.60\00:05:39.00 Yes, yes. 00:05:39.03\00:05:40.37 So you know who's going to prosper, 00:05:40.40\00:05:41.87 you people are going to benefit those of you 00:05:41.90\00:05:44.57 who are yet to come or want to come back, 00:05:44.61\00:05:47.58 now you're going to taste the food 00:05:47.61\00:05:49.04 that Michelle's going to help you learn 00:05:49.08\00:05:51.31 how to cook at home. 00:05:51.35\00:05:52.81 And it's going to be better than ever. 00:05:52.85\00:05:54.48 It was always great. Always good. 00:05:54.52\00:05:56.15 It was always good, there's nothing bad. 00:05:56.18\00:05:57.52 Right. No. 00:05:57.55\00:05:58.89 I have people here just ran ready, 00:05:58.92\00:06:00.39 they all fall in love with you. 00:06:00.42\00:06:01.99 They can't understand why. Hallelujah! God's grace. 00:06:02.02\00:06:07.20 God is grateful. 00:06:07.23\00:06:08.56 So what did you, 00:06:08.60\00:06:09.96 I know the food was a real crucial part 00:06:10.00\00:06:13.34 of the program for you, 00:06:13.37\00:06:14.70 but what else did you like about the program? 00:06:14.74\00:06:17.57 What was new and invigorating? Okay, I'll tell you. 00:06:17.61\00:06:22.28 I'm the kind of person that burn the midnight oil, 00:06:22.31\00:06:25.38 I'd not slept till 2 in the morning, 00:06:25.41\00:06:27.22 studying or whatever 00:06:27.25\00:06:28.85 just trying to have that alone time. 00:06:28.88\00:06:31.55 And I would not get probably more than four to five hours 00:06:31.59\00:06:34.26 of sleep per night and still not fully rested. 00:06:34.29\00:06:37.56 So going to bed at 9 o'clock 00:06:37.59\00:06:39.73 is a totally foreign concept to me, 00:06:39.76\00:06:42.33 but the way they had it scheduled here, 00:06:42.36\00:06:44.83 we caught on real quick and I've been in bed 9 o'clock 00:06:44.87\00:06:48.54 because the most important sleep 00:06:48.57\00:06:50.04 that you get is between the hours of ten and two, 00:06:50.07\00:06:52.87 and that's where your healing hormones are made 00:06:52.91\00:06:54.94 and your body rebuilds itself. 00:06:54.98\00:06:57.11 And God designed us to sleep at a decent hour, not to, 00:06:57.15\00:07:01.48 you know, so I had lot of problems. 00:07:01.52\00:07:02.85 Not four or five hours. Correct. 00:07:02.88\00:07:04.62 So now I'm in bed by nine and I'm awake by four. 00:07:04.65\00:07:08.22 Are you sleeping well? I'm sleepy really well. 00:07:08.26\00:07:10.43 And that was just unheard of. 00:07:10.46\00:07:11.79 Why do you think 00:07:11.83\00:07:13.16 that you're sleeping well 00:07:13.19\00:07:14.53 all of a sudden, it's not the food, is it? 00:07:14.56\00:07:16.00 It's everything. 00:07:16.03\00:07:17.37 It's exercising... 00:07:17.40\00:07:19.30 You're exercising? Yeah. 00:07:19.33\00:07:20.97 Oh no. There's the E word. Yes, exercising. 00:07:21.00\00:07:23.84 And you'd be amazed at how healing walking is. 00:07:23.87\00:07:26.54 It's really what God does as He allows us to receive 00:07:26.57\00:07:31.11 these gifts freely. 00:07:31.15\00:07:32.48 Now how many miles did you walk on Sunday? 00:07:32.51\00:07:34.25 I walked 12. 00:07:34.28\00:07:35.62 Twelve miles? Twelve miles. 00:07:35.65\00:07:36.99 Come on. Yep. 00:07:37.02\00:07:38.35 You used to do 00:07:38.39\00:07:39.72 that all the time though, didn't you? 00:07:39.75\00:07:41.09 Not in the Army 00:07:41.12\00:07:42.46 'cause we don't walk, we ran. 00:07:42.49\00:07:43.83 Oh, you ran. Okay. 00:07:43.86\00:07:46.56 Not 12 miles though. 00:07:46.59\00:07:48.06 But before you started the program, 00:07:48.10\00:07:49.50 did you do 00:07:49.53\00:07:50.87 that while you're teaching people classes? 00:07:50.90\00:07:53.03 Like I've walked max maybe three miles 00:07:53.07\00:07:55.20 and that was once or twice a week, 00:07:55.24\00:07:57.57 it was not consistent. 00:07:57.61\00:07:59.31 Yeah. So is that your new exercise? 00:07:59.34\00:08:03.04 Definitely. Definitely. 00:08:03.08\00:08:05.61 Now you told us during the first interview you want 00:08:05.65\00:08:08.02 to lose a couple pounds. 00:08:08.05\00:08:10.22 How much weight have you lost this session? 00:08:10.25\00:08:11.59 I lost 18 pounds. 00:08:11.62\00:08:12.95 Eighteen, do you know how amazing that is for a woman 00:08:12.99\00:08:15.29 to lose 18 pounds. 00:08:15.32\00:08:17.69 Well, I needed it but God is good. 00:08:17.73\00:08:19.69 God is good. He is really good. 00:08:19.73\00:08:21.86 And I'll tell you the truth. 00:08:21.90\00:08:24.43 When I came into this program, I was not expecting that. 00:08:24.47\00:08:27.97 I didn't think it would work for me, 00:08:28.00\00:08:29.77 I thought it works for everybody else 00:08:29.80\00:08:31.77 but, you know, why me? 00:08:31.81\00:08:33.14 Why would it work for me? 00:08:33.17\00:08:34.51 And God is so sweet in this program if you work it, 00:08:34.54\00:08:37.85 it will work but you have to do all of the health laws. 00:08:37.88\00:08:41.92 You need to pray, 00:08:41.95\00:08:43.28 and you need to walk, and sleep, 00:08:43.32\00:08:45.49 and drink water, and all these things are free. 00:08:45.52\00:08:48.76 You're so inspiring. 00:08:48.79\00:08:50.13 Hallelujah! Hallelujah! It's right. 00:08:50.16\00:08:52.69 But let me share with you. Okay. 00:08:52.73\00:08:54.46 You know, one of my jobs is to talk to people 00:08:54.50\00:08:57.53 when they call in 00:08:57.57\00:08:58.90 and I sign them up to the NEWSTART program. 00:08:58.93\00:09:01.57 And invariably I get the one that's vegan. 00:09:01.60\00:09:04.81 Yeah. 00:09:04.84\00:09:06.17 Or vegetarian, and they know 00:09:06.21\00:09:07.64 the program isn't going to work for them. 00:09:07.68\00:09:10.15 It might work for everybody else 00:09:10.18\00:09:11.51 but look, I'm a Seventh-day Adventist, 00:09:11.55\00:09:13.95 and I've been all my life, and I got the health message, 00:09:13.98\00:09:17.69 and I am really good. 00:09:17.72\00:09:19.45 Well, how taller you are, I'll ask. 00:09:19.49\00:09:21.12 Well, I'm 5'4''. How much you weigh. 00:09:21.16\00:09:23.06 One hundred ninety pounds. 00:09:23.09\00:09:24.69 Well, how do you think you got to be a 190 pounds, 00:09:24.73\00:09:26.80 not through the health message. 00:09:26.83\00:09:28.16 Right. 00:09:28.20\00:09:29.53 So we see that there are people who are watching, Michelle. 00:09:29.56\00:09:33.30 That really think they know and they don't, 00:09:33.34\00:09:36.44 and they're wondering 00:09:36.47\00:09:37.81 why they got high blood pressure, 00:09:37.84\00:09:39.34 diabetes, cardiovascular disease 00:09:39.37\00:09:42.28 and a host of other lifestyle diseases 00:09:42.31\00:09:45.68 that go along with 00:09:45.71\00:09:47.55 and not to exclude inflammation. 00:09:47.58\00:09:50.45 So you didn't have 00:09:50.49\00:09:51.82 any of these conditions, did you? 00:09:51.85\00:09:53.49 I was kind of on the verge. You were on the verge. 00:09:53.52\00:09:55.39 I had a little bit of my high blood sugar. 00:09:55.42\00:09:57.53 That was starting to creep up. 00:09:57.56\00:09:59.43 And I'll tell you, 00:09:59.46\00:10:00.83 I've been an Adventist since 1998. 00:10:00.86\00:10:04.20 I came into the church then. 00:10:04.23\00:10:06.43 And I've studied health 00:10:06.47\00:10:08.44 and I can be so honest with you, 00:10:08.47\00:10:10.51 I did not know half of the stuff 00:10:10.54\00:10:13.14 that they taught us here. 00:10:13.17\00:10:14.84 There's so much information that is, 00:10:14.88\00:10:17.28 that the doctors are teaching you 00:10:17.31\00:10:19.15 and they use scripture and they show you exactly 00:10:19.18\00:10:22.02 in the inspiring words. 00:10:22.05\00:10:24.39 And I didn't know, 00:10:24.42\00:10:25.75 I just did not know and here I thought, 00:10:25.79\00:10:27.46 I knew everything, 00:10:27.49\00:10:28.82 you know, not everything but I'm blown away. 00:10:28.86\00:10:31.59 I was blown away. Yeah, yeah. I can see it. 00:10:31.63\00:10:34.56 Yeah. Yeah. 00:10:34.60\00:10:35.96 And I do that at church 00:10:36.00\00:10:37.33 because I help out a church with the health ministry. 00:10:37.37\00:10:40.64 And I don't need that, 00:10:40.67\00:10:42.57 I, you know, like Dr. Bevens is going to be 00:10:42.60\00:10:44.87 with us Monday night. 00:10:44.91\00:10:46.24 Yeah. 00:10:46.27\00:10:47.61 We're going to have dinner with the doc, 00:10:47.64\00:10:49.01 where you can have some soup and some bread and stuff, 00:10:49.04\00:10:52.11 and then you get to ask any questions 00:10:52.15\00:10:54.68 you want from a doctor. 00:10:54.72\00:10:56.42 And you know Dr. Bevens 00:10:56.45\00:10:57.79 had his credential in internal medicine. 00:10:57.82\00:11:00.16 Right. And then he changed. 00:11:00.19\00:11:01.92 Right. 00:11:01.96\00:11:03.29 So he is a wealth of knowledge 00:11:03.32\00:11:05.56 and you know, we have Dr. Cooney Noble, 00:11:05.59\00:11:08.80 we have Dr. Gallant and your doctor was... 00:11:08.83\00:11:13.23 I had Dr. Gallant. 00:11:13.27\00:11:14.60 Yes, you did have Dr. Gallant. Yeah. 00:11:14.64\00:11:16.27 And Dr. Lukens. And then you have Dr. Lukens. 00:11:16.30\00:11:17.91 Yeah. All these guys are so bright. 00:11:17.94\00:11:20.51 They are. 00:11:20.54\00:11:21.88 And, of course, God is so willing to heal us. 00:11:21.91\00:11:24.31 I know. Hallelujah. 00:11:24.35\00:11:25.68 If we just reach out and do all the right things. 00:11:25.71\00:11:28.25 Amen. And this place is very special. 00:11:28.28\00:11:31.19 I can say that God has placed these people for this time 00:11:31.22\00:11:35.66 for such a time as this 00:11:35.69\00:11:37.46 because there are so many people 00:11:37.49\00:11:38.83 who are sick and are dying to know this message. 00:11:38.86\00:11:41.60 And I just really believe 00:11:41.63\00:11:42.96 that God is using these doctors. 00:11:43.00\00:11:45.03 And who gets a doctor that will pray with you? 00:11:45.07\00:11:47.90 When you go to the doctor 00:11:47.94\00:11:49.27 and who really asks God please heal. 00:11:49.30\00:11:52.34 Please heal this person and shows you exactly 00:11:52.37\00:11:55.54 what you need to do to be well. 00:11:55.58\00:11:57.45 And a dietician who shows you exactly the kind of foods 00:11:57.48\00:12:00.42 and the amount portion control which I knew nothing of, 00:12:00.45\00:12:04.05 you know, I'm vegan, I can eat whatever I want 00:12:04.09\00:12:05.85 but I didn't know. 00:12:05.89\00:12:08.09 And so, it's just a really special place, 00:12:08.12\00:12:10.36 and I think anybody who would want to come here 00:12:10.39\00:12:13.53 would be so thankful having knowing 00:12:13.56\00:12:17.40 what they know from this place. 00:12:17.43\00:12:19.63 Yeah. It's special. 00:12:19.67\00:12:21.04 Michelle, I really like 00:12:21.07\00:12:22.40 to thank you for taking your time 00:12:22.44\00:12:24.14 and being so brave to come up in front of camera 00:12:24.17\00:12:27.74 and admit certain things that you are admitting. 00:12:27.78\00:12:31.05 And God bless you. Thank you so much, Ron. 00:12:31.08\00:12:32.41 God bless you. 00:12:32.45\00:12:33.78 And we'll see you in campus, I know for sure. 00:12:33.82\00:12:35.15 Yeah. Definitely. 00:12:35.18\00:12:36.52 Friends, thank you, but don't go away 00:12:36.55\00:12:38.45 because Dr. Gallant 00:12:38.49\00:12:39.92 is up next. 00:12:39.95\00:12:41.29 Every year in America, 00:12:45.63\00:12:46.96 there are over one million deaths 00:12:47.00\00:12:48.33 because of Type 2 diabetes and chronic obesity. 00:12:48.36\00:12:51.23 This includes heart attacks and strokes. 00:12:51.27\00:12:53.60 That's six and a half 747s crashing every day. 00:12:53.64\00:12:57.11 What's even more surprising is that the fix is easy. 00:12:57.14\00:13:00.54 It's your lifestyle. 00:13:00.58\00:13:01.91 Wouldn't it be nice 00:13:01.94\00:13:03.28 if you could actually add quality years to your life 00:13:03.31\00:13:05.28 rather than dying one organ at a time? 00:13:05.31\00:13:08.22 Obesity and diabetes are the cause 00:13:08.25\00:13:09.88 of over million deaths per year. 00:13:09.92\00:13:12.49 Most diseases are reversible 00:13:12.52\00:13:14.59 because most diseases are lifestyle diseases, 00:13:14.62\00:13:17.49 especially Type 2 diabetes and chronic obesity. 00:13:17.53\00:13:20.93 Seriously now, they can be reversed 00:13:20.96\00:13:23.20 and the quality of your life can be renewed. 00:13:23.23\00:13:26.74 Call NEWSTART today 00:13:26.77\00:13:28.10 at 1-800-525-9192. 00:13:28.14\00:13:32.97 You will see dramatic changes 00:13:33.01\00:13:34.54 in the first few days of our program 00:13:34.58\00:13:36.54 and you'll be on the road 00:13:36.58\00:13:37.91 to a better more robust quality of life. 00:13:37.95\00:13:40.68 The NEWSTART programs are simple and effective. 00:13:40.72\00:13:47.56 Welcome back, friends. 00:13:47.59\00:13:48.92 Help me welcome Dr Roger Gallant. 00:13:48.96\00:13:50.93 Ron, good to see you. 00:13:50.96\00:13:52.29 It's always good to see you too, Doc. 00:13:52.33\00:13:54.10 And especially today 00:13:54.13\00:13:55.53 because we're going to talk about 00:13:55.56\00:13:56.90 one of my favorite people on staff. 00:13:56.93\00:13:58.90 Yes. Yeah. 00:13:58.93\00:14:00.27 Michelle. Michelle. 00:14:00.30\00:14:01.64 What a sweet lady. She is. 00:14:01.67\00:14:04.51 And you know, I don't know if everybody's aware 00:14:04.54\00:14:06.68 but she's been teaching here our cooking school classes 00:14:06.71\00:14:11.61 for how long, you know? 00:14:11.65\00:14:13.42 I think it's been six or seven years. 00:14:13.45\00:14:15.82 It's been a long time. It's been a while. 00:14:15.85\00:14:17.95 She's written a book, 00:14:17.99\00:14:19.45 she's an officer and a gentle lady. 00:14:19.49\00:14:22.19 Yes, yes. And done many, many things. 00:14:22.22\00:14:25.56 Yeah. 00:14:25.59\00:14:26.93 And as she shared with us, she came here to want to, 00:14:26.96\00:14:31.37 kind of freshen up 00:14:31.40\00:14:32.93 and maybe lose a couple of pounds 00:14:32.97\00:14:35.90 and she's done quite well there. 00:14:35.94\00:14:37.54 She has, she has. 00:14:37.57\00:14:38.91 You know, she came and she confided in me 00:14:38.94\00:14:42.21 that she was a little skeptical 00:14:42.24\00:14:43.88 when she first came how this would work. 00:14:43.91\00:14:46.68 But she made up her mind, 00:14:46.72\00:14:48.05 she was going to do all the things we asked her to. 00:14:48.08\00:14:50.69 Now why would she be skeptical, 00:14:50.72\00:14:52.59 you know, maybe you can share that 00:14:52.62\00:14:54.46 because she is like a nutritionist kind of, 00:14:54.49\00:14:59.06 not really but because of her expertise in cooking. 00:14:59.09\00:15:03.77 She knows what to eat not to eat, right? 00:15:03.80\00:15:06.70 She is an excellent cook. Excellent cook. 00:15:06.74\00:15:10.31 And she was skeptical I think 00:15:10.34\00:15:12.34 because she has tried other things before, 00:15:12.37\00:15:15.41 she has tried to do this different ways 00:15:15.44\00:15:17.81 to improve her health and lose some weight without success. 00:15:17.85\00:15:21.92 And she just thought nothing will ever work for me. 00:15:21.95\00:15:24.85 Yeah. 00:15:24.89\00:15:26.35 And so having her come and experience what we do 00:15:26.39\00:15:33.19 with the NEWSTART patients gave her 00:15:33.23\00:15:36.03 a totally different perspective. 00:15:36.06\00:15:37.40 You know, it's really funny. 00:15:37.43\00:15:39.17 I'm laughing 00:15:39.20\00:15:40.54 because you just said what a lot of people think, 00:15:40.57\00:15:44.67 "Oh, I know it worked for them but it can't work for me." 00:15:44.71\00:15:47.31 Look, I've tried everything, I've went to my doctor, 00:15:47.34\00:15:50.11 he put me on this pill on that pill, nothing works. 00:15:50.15\00:15:53.15 I fasted and then they come here 00:15:53.18\00:15:55.35 and they get well. 00:15:55.38\00:15:56.82 And what I want to say about 00:15:56.85\00:15:58.19 that is it's nothing special that we do. 00:15:58.22\00:16:00.56 Amen. It's nothing special in us. 00:16:00.59\00:16:03.53 It's God. Amen. 00:16:03.56\00:16:04.89 It's God working through the plan 00:16:04.93\00:16:06.66 that he has instituted. 00:16:06.70\00:16:08.66 I'm so glad you brought that up 00:16:08.70\00:16:10.07 because many times 00:16:10.10\00:16:11.83 we get our fellow Christians calling 00:16:11.87\00:16:15.50 and saying to me, 00:16:15.54\00:16:16.87 "Well, what makes you think this is going to work? 00:16:16.91\00:16:19.74 I already know the health message." 00:16:19.77\00:16:22.24 Well, in my own church, 00:16:22.28\00:16:24.15 they all know the health message, 00:16:24.18\00:16:26.21 but how many people really practice 00:16:26.25\00:16:28.68 the health message, let alone that trust in God 00:16:28.72\00:16:35.22 which they learn here because... 00:16:35.26\00:16:37.96 Look, I've never been to a doctor 00:16:37.99\00:16:40.13 that wanted to pray with me 00:16:40.16\00:16:41.86 and when I came here to see you guys, 00:16:41.90\00:16:43.93 the first thing you wanted to do is pray. 00:16:43.97\00:16:46.50 So I saw something really special 00:16:46.53\00:16:48.77 and unique happening in this program 00:16:48.80\00:16:52.34 that isn't anywhere else. 00:16:52.37\00:16:54.41 And I just applaud you and your fellow doctors 00:16:54.44\00:16:59.15 for what you do here. 00:16:59.18\00:17:00.52 Well, you know, exactly what you're saying 00:17:00.55\00:17:02.22 could be applied to Michelle. 00:17:02.25\00:17:05.32 She's on staff, she knows what we do for the most part, 00:17:05.35\00:17:10.66 and when she came 00:17:10.69\00:17:13.43 and actually got to experience what we do. 00:17:13.46\00:17:16.67 She has told me that she learned a few things 00:17:16.70\00:17:18.80 she didn't know, 00:17:18.83\00:17:20.57 and she gets to see how it all integrates 00:17:20.60\00:17:23.20 and comes together and how it all works. 00:17:23.24\00:17:25.67 And that to her has been a blessing. 00:17:25.71\00:17:27.61 And I think that's going to be a blessing 00:17:27.64\00:17:29.41 for the program moving forward 00:17:29.44\00:17:30.91 because we'll all be on the same page, 00:17:30.95\00:17:34.58 you know, so that's a blessing. 00:17:34.62\00:17:37.19 Couple of people asked me in the past, 00:17:37.22\00:17:39.69 "Well, you know Michelle said 00:17:39.72\00:17:41.26 to do this and that, the other." 00:17:41.29\00:17:42.62 Why Michelle? "She's the one teaching?" 00:17:42.66\00:17:45.46 You know, you can't just rub against the grain and now 00:17:45.49\00:17:50.13 because she has gone through the program, 00:17:50.17\00:17:52.97 she knows it more fully I guess is a good word. 00:17:53.00\00:17:56.04 Yes. 00:17:56.07\00:17:57.41 And I'm just, I'm so elated and excited about the future 00:17:57.44\00:18:03.45 for the NEWSTART program 00:18:03.48\00:18:06.38 because we, you know, that bicycle tire rolls nicer 00:18:06.41\00:18:11.19 when all the spokes are lined up. 00:18:11.22\00:18:12.62 That's true. 00:18:12.65\00:18:13.99 And all of us who participate 00:18:14.02\00:18:15.39 in the program need to be in alignment. 00:18:15.42\00:18:18.63 So we're not going in different directions. 00:18:18.66\00:18:21.53 And I can tell you Michelle 00:18:21.56\00:18:22.90 has been up early every morning walking. 00:18:22.93\00:18:25.07 She's putting in a lot of miles. 00:18:25.10\00:18:27.57 And praise God, 00:18:27.60\00:18:28.94 His program is helping her to lose weight, 00:18:28.97\00:18:30.64 something she had never done before. 00:18:30.67\00:18:32.67 Eighteen pounds. Eighteen pounds in 18 days. 00:18:32.71\00:18:36.04 That's unusual for a woman to lose that kind of weight. 00:18:36.08\00:18:38.65 Yeah. 00:18:38.68\00:18:40.02 She's so excited about losing the weight. 00:18:40.05\00:18:41.82 Oh, yeah. No, praise the Lord. She's doing very well. 00:18:41.85\00:18:45.09 And she's feeling better, 00:18:45.12\00:18:47.06 her blood sugar had risen up a little bit, 00:18:47.09\00:18:50.06 she was technically in the category 00:18:50.09\00:18:52.79 that would make her like a borderline diabetic. 00:18:52.83\00:18:55.03 I think she mentioned that to me at one point but... 00:18:55.06\00:18:57.40 And now her blood sugars are normal 00:18:57.43\00:18:59.70 and she is just excited, and I'm excited for her. 00:18:59.73\00:19:04.14 And I want to really see how this progresses over time 00:19:04.17\00:19:07.64 because she has a testimony to share with others 00:19:07.68\00:19:12.88 about what God has done in her life 00:19:12.91\00:19:14.72 that she thought couldn't happen. 00:19:14.75\00:19:18.62 Well, that's a biggie. 00:25:08.97\00:25:10.31 So in this paper 00:25:10.34\00:25:12.34 we were studying 1,827 patients, 00:25:12.37\00:25:16.61 a good big nice group of patients 00:25:16.64\00:25:20.22 that that went through our 18 day program 00:25:20.25\00:25:23.15 and including in that group 00:25:23.18\00:25:24.69 were very vulnerable populations 00:25:24.72\00:25:27.59 to diabetes such as Native Americans, Hispanics, 00:25:27.62\00:25:31.49 half African-Americans and Asian people 00:25:31.53\00:25:34.16 which are very vulnerable as they gain weight, 00:25:34.20\00:25:37.03 they develop many metabolic problems. 00:25:37.07\00:25:39.47 Ethnic groups really throughout the ethnic spectrum 00:25:39.50\00:25:43.34 but one thing that tended 00:25:43.37\00:25:44.71 to be similar among most of these diabetics, 00:25:44.74\00:25:47.68 no matter what their ethnicity was being overweight. 00:25:47.71\00:25:51.25 And how overweight 00:25:51.28\00:25:52.61 were some of these people, Dr. Ramirez? 00:25:52.65\00:25:53.98 Yes. 00:25:54.02\00:25:55.35 Some actually had severely morbid obesity. 00:25:55.38\00:25:59.35 We're talking about 495 pounds 00:25:59.39\00:26:02.72 some of the participants in this study. 00:26:02.76\00:26:04.56 Okay. 00:26:04.59\00:26:05.93 So almost 500 pounds, these are people that probably 00:26:05.96\00:26:09.33 would have difficulty walking across a room. 00:26:09.36\00:26:12.70 They're so big but they were able to come 00:26:12.73\00:26:16.74 to NEWSTART and what happened to them? 00:26:16.77\00:26:19.77 And that's the beauty of this, even those people have hope 00:26:19.81\00:26:23.58 as they come to the NEWSTART program 00:26:23.61\00:26:25.48 and we start changing their lifestyle. 00:26:25.51\00:26:28.85 That group in particular, 00:26:28.88\00:26:30.35 the people that had that severe obesity, 00:26:30.39\00:26:33.92 it was 20 plus pounds 00:26:33.96\00:26:36.49 that they were able to lose during this 18 day program. 00:26:36.52\00:26:40.90 And as we've highlighted before, that's just the start. 00:26:40.93\00:26:43.40 Many of them are losing 140 pounds 00:26:43.43\00:26:46.03 by the time a year and a half goes by 00:26:46.07\00:26:49.44 because this is a diet that you can actually stay on. 00:26:49.47\00:26:52.64 We train you here at NEWSTART to be on the best diet 00:26:52.67\00:26:56.31 and stay on the best diet at home. 00:26:56.34\00:26:58.55 Anything else you'd like to reveal about this day? 00:26:58.58\00:27:00.35 Yes. 00:27:00.38\00:27:01.72 On average 108 of glucose, 00:27:01.75\00:27:04.52 at the end they had 102 on glucose 00:27:04.55\00:27:08.26 and that's after some of them actually decrease 00:27:08.29\00:27:10.53 in their medication for diabetes. 00:27:10.56\00:27:12.99 So their blood sugars went down 00:27:13.03\00:27:14.86 while their medications were able to be reduced 00:27:14.90\00:27:17.17 at the same time. 00:27:17.20\00:27:18.53 So that's something beautiful we'd like for you to reach 00:27:18.57\00:27:21.40 under a 100 here in the American measurement, 00:27:21.44\00:27:24.37 European and Australian is a little bit different 00:27:24.41\00:27:27.18 but that's the goal 00:27:27.21\00:27:28.54 that we would like for you to have. 00:27:28.58\00:27:30.61 Under a 100 and so by the time 00:27:30.65\00:27:32.61 they were through with the program 102 00:27:32.65\00:27:35.18 but that means 00:27:35.22\00:27:36.55 they're still going to stay on the program at home 00:27:36.58\00:27:38.79 and easily be able to make it under a 100. 00:27:38.82\00:27:42.59 Really what we're training you for is for life 00:27:42.62\00:27:46.06 and you're just doing the first 18 days 00:27:46.09\00:27:48.43 of the rest of your life here at NEWSTART. 00:27:48.46\00:27:51.63 And so I would encourage you 00:27:51.67\00:27:53.13 to consider come into Weimar to get a NEWSTART Now. 00:27:53.17\00:27:58.04 And for NEWSTART Now, I'm Dr. Neil Nedley, 00:27:58.07\00:28:02.68 join us again next week. 00:28:02.71\00:28:04.51
