00:12 Every year in America
00:13 there are over one million deaths 00:14 because of Type 2 diabetes and chronic obesity. 00:17 This includes heart attacks and strokes. 00:20 That's six and half 747s crashing every day. 00:23 What's even more surprising is that the fix is easy. 00:27 It's your lifestyle. 00:28 Wouldn't it be nice if you could actually 00:30 add quality years to your life 00:32 rather than dying one organ at a time? 00:34 Obesity and diabetes are the cause 00:36 of over million deaths per year. 00:39 Most diseases are reversible 00:41 because most diseases are lifestyle diseases, 00:44 especially Type 2 diabetes and chronic obesity. 00:47 Seriously now, they can be reversed 00:49 and the quality of your life can be renewed. 00:53 Call NEWSTART today at 1-800-525-9192. 00:59 You will see dramatic changes 01:01 in the first few days of our program 01:03 and you'll be on the road 01:04 to a better more robust quality of life. 01:07 The NEWSTART programs are simple and effective. 01:13 Hi, friends, and welcome 01:14 to another addition of NEWSTART now. 01:17 I'm your host Ron Giannoni. 01:19 In our studio with me today 01:21 is Damien Albarelli from Florida, 01:25 and we've got a interesting story for you, 01:27 but let's take a look at when he first arrived. 01:34 Hi, I'm here, 01:35 I have Type 2 diabetes and high blood pressure. 01:39 I'm on one medication for the diabetes 01:41 and four different kinds of medications 01:44 for the high blood pressure. 01:48 So I'm here to address those issues 01:51 and hopefully get off the medicine 01:52 and then make some lifestyle changes. 01:54 I would like to, you know, get off the medication, 01:57 lose some weight and just feel healthier overall. 02:03 Welcome back, friends, in our studio. 02:05 Damien, how you doing brother? 02:07 Good, good. How are you? 02:08 Good. I'm great. 02:10 I'm so happy and pleased to hear about your results. 02:15 Yeah, it's been nothing but great. 02:17 Everything... 02:19 thought it might be a struggle to start now 02:20 but just committed myself to the program, 02:23 and I got to say I'm happy with the results 02:25 and no complaints at all. 02:28 So when you came through the program, 02:30 when you first got here when, you know, 02:33 you and I are both raised Italians 02:35 so I know about munching. 02:38 But when you started eating the food here, 02:41 how did that feel? 02:42 Everything was good, you know. 02:44 Surprisingly you thought, 02:46 just the initial thought was, you know, 02:48 like this not going to fill me up and everything, 02:50 but man, you walk away from the table 02:52 not wanting anything 02:54 like, you know, you're not hungry at all. 02:55 Right. 02:57 And then they sprung me a three day fast on us. 02:59 You know we weren't told upfront, but... 03:03 We didn't know... No, no 03:05 I would have told you otherwise. 03:06 No, yeah, it was a surprise 03:07 and I think everybody in our class 03:10 did it except for one person. 03:11 One girl. Yeah. 03:13 So it was a, you know, it was a support system there 03:16 and everybody stuck with it 03:18 and had great results and nobody had complaints, 03:21 you know, and everybody's, 03:22 everybody's really glad they did it. 03:24 All right. 03:25 So that wasn't a big deal the changeover for your diet. 03:30 No, not really. 03:31 Okay. 03:33 You know, you start feeling better 03:34 when you eat the food and just everything, 03:36 you know, you have more energy 03:38 and everything's just good, you know. 03:41 Well, you're a different person 03:42 than when we first interviewed you. 03:44 Yeah. You got lot more energy. 03:46 Without a doubt, you know, I was... 03:48 I'm out there walking every day 10 to 11 miles. 03:52 Eleven miles a day? Yeah. 03:54 That's got to be some sort of a record. 03:56 No, I don't think so but... 03:58 Yeah, yeah. 03:59 It's good. 04:00 That's awesome though, isn't it? 04:02 Yeah. 04:03 How much weight have you lost? 04:05 I lost 15 pounds. 04:06 Fifteen pounds. 04:07 Fifteen pounds and two inches around the waist. 04:09 That's like one pound a day. 04:10 Yeah, pretty much. Yeah. 04:12 Yeah. That's awesome. 04:14 So it's been awesome like, I mean 04:16 that was like one of my biggest goals 04:17 was to lose weight and has definitely happened you know. 04:20 Well, you know that's just the beginning. 04:22 No, yeah, yeah. 04:23 And you're gonna continue on, right? 04:25 Yeah. Yeah. Okay. 04:27 What about the medication? 04:29 We talked a little bit about medication 04:31 before we started the interview. 04:34 Tell us what medications you're on when you got here? 04:36 I was on metformin for diabetes, 04:39 and then for blood pressure I was on four different kinds, 04:43 losartan, amlodipine, carvedilol and... 04:48 There was one more I can't remember 04:50 what's the name of it was... 04:52 You know, you don't want to remember it. 04:53 Yeah, yeah. Off of them all completely. 04:55 You're off all of them. Everything, yeah. 04:57 So, what's your blood pressure now? 05:00 The bottom number is still little high 05:02 but on the average 05:04 I get anywhere from like 140 to 130 05:07 over like 80 to 90 some. 05:09 Okay. 05:11 Which, and the doctor said, 05:12 the bottom number will continue to come down 05:13 as the weight comes off. 05:15 Sure, sure. 05:16 So what I mean, 05:17 I was getting higher numbers than that on the medication 05:19 without the diet you know, so no complaints like I said. 05:23 And the diabetes, that's gone. 05:26 It's not completely gone 05:28 but the sugars have definitely dropped. 05:29 There's a... 05:31 from my fasting sugar the first time 05:32 we had blood work to the fasting sugar 05:35 two weeks later dropped 100 points. 05:37 Wow. 05:38 So yeah, I mean that's results in two weeks, you know. 05:42 So your overall experience here has been... 05:46 Nothing but positive. Nothing but positive. 05:48 Yep. 05:50 You know, I hear that from so many people. 05:54 But what did you like most about the program? 05:58 You know everything was good. 06:00 The camaraderie between the classmates 06:02 is one of the things that was really good. 06:03 You know everybody comes from a different background 06:05 and everything or you know... 06:08 We're all here for kind of the same reasons, 06:10 but, you know, people have certain other stuff 06:12 but, you know, the cooking class was excellent. 06:15 No complaints. There's fun to be in there. 06:18 You learn how to make all this great stuff. 06:20 You know what you're going to continue doing at home 06:22 so, you know, and the lectures are awesome too 06:26 like the doctors here are great. 06:27 I mean they're not like normal doctors, you know, 06:30 most doctors want to treat the symptoms not the cause. 06:32 We don't want to... 06:34 We don't want them to hear that. 06:36 If we tell them they're not normal. 06:38 Now I know what you mean, 06:40 we got a group of great doctors. 06:42 Yeah, I had Dr. Lukens 06:43 and he's an incredible bold guy. 06:45 Yeah, we're going to interview him right after this. 06:48 Okay. 06:49 And talk about you. 06:50 All right. 06:52 But it's all good, you know. 06:53 Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah. 06:55 So now, do you feel any, 06:58 any anxiety about leaving? 07:02 No. Not really. 07:04 So you can... 07:05 I'm ready to go home. 07:06 You can do this when you get home. 07:08 Yeah. 07:09 Like I said, it would just be a matter of, you know, 07:10 learning how to incorporate into the lifestyle 07:13 what having a work and everything else, 07:15 you know, because here 07:17 you basically having people wait on you 07:18 almost, you know, like every, 07:20 all the food is fix for you and everything. 07:21 But I mean, it's definitely a doable thing. 07:23 It's not like something that's hard. 07:25 You just gonna have to devote a little bit effort to it, 07:27 and I mean the results 07:28 are definitely worth it, you know, so... 07:30 I know. 07:31 Yeah, I mean you've been through it yourself. 07:34 Now what's your favorite part of the program? 07:38 Probably the exercising, like I like to get out and go. 07:41 Really? Yeah. 07:43 I mean I was pretty, pretty mobile before I came here. 07:45 You know, I didn't have a problem 07:47 playing sports and all that, 07:48 but the fact is just walking, you know, you don't have to, 07:52 it's like run to elevate 07:53 your heart rate a ton and all that, 07:55 and you know the weight comes off so... 07:58 But like I said, the whole program 08:00 has been a positive experience, 08:01 I mean nothing has been bad. 08:03 What do you think of the car wash? 08:06 Oh, yeah. 08:08 That wasn't bad. 08:10 I actually like the tanks better. 08:11 You like the tanks. 08:12 Yeah. That's submersible on ice. 08:14 Yeah, where you get down in there. 08:15 Yeah. Really? 08:17 Yeah. 08:18 I actually like that better 08:19 because you know it's a little colder and hotter 08:22 because you're actually submerged in the water but... 08:25 You find it funny because your body starts 08:26 craving the cold after a while so... 08:28 Wow. 08:30 I had it this morning in fact and it was great. 08:32 Now tell our viewers 08:33 what it is we're talking about because they don't know. 08:36 The hydrotherapy sessions, 08:38 you do alternating hot and cold treatment. 08:41 You always finish with cold, but... 08:43 It's submerged in hot water. 08:45 Yeah, you submerged in hot water 08:46 for about three minutes, 08:48 and there's like a jet that circulates and stuff 08:51 and then after three minutes 08:52 you switch to the cold water for like a minute. 08:55 One minute. Yeah. 08:56 And you sit in there and I'll be honest with you, 08:58 the first time you go, 08:59 it's a little bit shock to the system, 09:01 but the longer you go back and forth, 09:03 the easier the colder gets. 09:05 And like I said, your body actually almost craves it. 09:07 I've done it. 09:08 You come out of there feeling so energized. 09:10 You know then you get a massage after that 09:12 which makes it even better but... 09:14 Well, you're pretty energized right now. 09:16 Yeah. I feel good, so... 09:19 That's awesome. 09:20 Yep. when you'll go home. 09:21 I leave tomorrow. Do you? 09:23 Yeah. 09:24 You're gonna fly back to Florida... 09:25 Yep. And who is waiting at home? 09:27 My brother. Your brother? 09:28 Yeah. 09:30 Is he excited? Did you talk to him about it? 09:31 Yeah, I'll talk to him every day 09:33 and he's actually interested 09:35 in incorporating some of the same stuff 09:37 in his lifestyle and everything, so... 09:39 How about your mom? Have you talked to her? 09:40 Yeah, in fact she's about an hour away from here now. 09:44 She'll be here in about an hour. 09:46 Oh good. I want to meet her. 09:47 Yeah, her and my uncle are coming. 09:49 She and I've talked. Yeah. She told me. 09:52 Good. 09:53 So... 09:54 So what words of encouragement 09:57 can you give our viewers about coming here? 10:04 I would say, you know, definitely give it a shot. 10:07 It's definitely worth it. 10:09 The one thing I'll say is just commit yourself totally to it 10:12 for the 18 days you're here you know. 10:15 I had this quote, it's always been like a favorite of mine 10:17 it says, "To give anything less than your best, 10:20 is to sacrifice the gift." 10:22 And so I kind of went by that while I was here, you know. 10:25 I just wanted to dedicate myself completely 10:27 to it for the 18 days. 10:29 And see what I got result wise, 10:31 and like I said, it's been nothing but positive. 10:33 So I would just say... 10:35 I'm detecting a little emotion. Yeah, it's a little bit. 10:38 I mean it's... 10:39 Is that from the core you just did? 10:41 That and just, you know, 10:43 for like some of the stuff for me like weight 10:45 it's been a lifelong struggle for me. 10:48 You know, I've always been a bigger kid and even grown up, 10:51 you know, I always had a little extra weight. 10:54 You know I've lost it here and there 10:56 but it's always come right back on, 10:58 you know, eventually, so... 10:59 But now you feel you got it. 11:01 Now, I see the light at the end of the tunnel 11:02 and I think it's there, you know. 11:04 That's awesome. 11:05 And Lord willing and I'm sure will help, you know. 11:07 The Lord's willing. 11:09 No, that's why I said, I'm sure he will help with it, so, 11:12 you know... 11:14 Will be prodding you all long. Yeah. 11:16 Nothing but positive. 11:17 Lord speaking in your ear. Yeah, yeah. 11:19 Are you sure you wanted to do that? 11:21 So... 11:23 Well, I'm so happy for you. 11:25 No complaints. Yeah. 11:26 You know, and I want to just take a moment to thank you 11:29 for being willing to come and share 11:32 because your story someone's viewing you, 11:35 somewhere in the world right now 11:37 and they're going, "Wow, he did it, I can do it." 11:41 Anybody that has an opportunity to try, they should. 11:43 All right, brother. 11:44 It will make a life changer for him. 11:46 Thank you so much. Thank you. 11:47 And thank you, friends. 11:48 Don't go away because Dr. Lukens is up next. 12:25 Welcome back, friends, and as I promised 12:28 Dr Lukens in the house. 12:29 Okay, they tell us that's' a, that's a newest way. 12:32 Yeah, I forgot it... 12:33 I know as the kids are doing that all the time. 12:35 Yeah. What does it mean? 12:36 But we are not kids. No, no. 12:38 Probably we act like kids. We act like kids. 12:41 So we're gonna talk about Damian. 12:44 Yes. 12:46 And you've been his doctor now for two weeks. 12:48 Yep. 12:49 And we've seen some tremendous results. 12:52 You know, I've heard a lot of things 12:54 but I want to hear from the doctor 12:56 exactly some of the changes that you know 13:01 maybe the viewers can realize if they too were to come 13:06 such as triglycerides or diabetes 13:10 or high blood pressure. 13:12 How's he doing? 13:14 Well, you know according 13:15 to Dr John McDougall and some people 13:17 that are watching this probably have heard of him 13:20 and he believes that 13:21 95 percent of all Type 2 diabetics should be able 13:25 to get off their medications. 13:28 Turn their, their disease around 13:32 and not be diabetic anymore, 13:33 so I'm talking to somebody that's been promoting 13:37 this for 35, 40 years. 13:40 But I think that he is right. 13:41 And we're in the process right now of gathering people. 13:45 We want them if we can to be on insulin 13:49 to have kidney failure and to see what we can do. 13:52 We want to get 50 to 70 of these and see what happens. 13:57 Well, we'll take all the diabetics 13:59 that are willing to come 14:01 especially when they're on insulin. 14:02 But you're on kidney disease too. 14:04 Yeah, well, I mean that's a, that's a real big, 14:08 big thing because we were just talking about this 14:10 before we came on 14:13 and about the guy that is waiting 14:16 for a kidney transplant. 14:17 Here's the deal on that. 14:19 You will only be able to get a kidney now 14:22 if you have a relative or a friend 14:24 that's willing to donate a kidney, 14:27 then you will probably get a kidney. 14:29 And then and very soon 14:31 they projected that in, you know, 14:33 that they're going to be two more million diabetics, 14:38 four more million diabetics in a period of like 10 years 14:42 and then they reach that mark within two years. 14:45 And they say we're not going to have enough machines 14:49 to do dialysis on all the people that... 14:51 It's an explosion of diabetes that's a metabolic syndrome. 14:54 But coming back to Damian, 14:57 he has an uncle who is a doctor. 15:00 And his uncle and he evidently have known 15:04 quite a bit about lifestyle. 15:07 So when he went in, 15:09 he actually found out that he was diabetic. 15:12 He started doing the, the exercise. 15:17 And he was doing a lot of exercise 15:20 and then he started changing his diet, 15:23 I said, "So what kind of a dietary change 15:25 did you make?" 15:26 He said, "Well, you know, 15:27 what I'm usually doing instead of eating a big meal at night, 15:31 I just eat salads or something." 15:33 I said, "Well, how that go?" 15:35 because you know that was a good deal. 15:37 He said, "No" he said, "I could keep my A1Cs 15:40 in a pretty good range with that, you see... 15:43 His A1c was really high. 15:45 Well, no, no. 15:46 When he found out it was high and then he would do this 15:51 and then his A1Cs would come down 15:54 to a more acceptable level, 15:56 and then he would gain more weight 15:58 than here and you know whatever. 16:00 I mean it's so easy to gain weight. 16:03 You know especially if you've been overweight 16:05 and trying to lose it, 16:06 here's a sideline another side bar, 16:09 98 percent of all the free fat 16:11 that you eat that comes from a bottle 16:13 goes back into your fat cells. 16:15 So you can't go on a diet 16:17 that's going to be the end of diet. 16:18 Except what we do here, people can lose weight 16:21 and keep it off. 16:22 So anyway coming back to this other. 16:24 So he would do that 16:26 but then eventually as he gained more weight, 16:29 he wasn't able to exercise enough. 16:31 Here he is and now his A1cs are going up again. 16:35 So the last time he went into his doctor 16:38 his A1c is 10. 16:42 That means that his blood sugar is always over. 16:46 You know, the average blood sugar 16:48 is always over 200. 16:49 Yeah, that's not good. 16:51 Yeah, no, no, that's, that's very bad. 16:54 And the other thing is that, 16:57 he was spilling three plus sugar in the urine. 17:01 Now, when I checked his urine I looked at it 17:03 and I thought he's on one of those new medications 17:05 because I've seen this a couple of times before. 17:08 They can give you a medicine, 17:10 they will dump all your, not all your sugar 17:13 but it will dump your sugar into your urine. 17:16 And then your numbers are better, 17:18 your A1c is better. 17:19 We tried for 50 years 17:21 to keep the sugar out of the urine 17:23 and now we've got a medication 17:25 that are treating just the numbers. 17:27 It doesn't help your diabetes. Not at all. 17:29 Now the other thing is, is he didn't have insurance 17:33 and I think he's on the Affordable Care Act now. 17:36 Some people call it Obamacare. 17:39 And so, anyway he would go in. 17:43 And I said so what, when your A1c was 10, 17:46 what does your doctor tell you? 17:49 He says, "Well, you know, diet, exercise, 17:52 you know, do these things. 17:53 Keep on with your metformin and stuff like that." 17:56 That's the reason why now people are going 17:58 to have to be in charge of their own health. 18:02 Amen. 18:03 Because that's the only way it can happen. 18:04 We don't have medical dollars to treat the people 18:09 with all the medications 18:11 and then they need to get to the root of the problem 18:13 and change their health around. 18:16 It's crazy what's going on out there 18:18 as far as sickness and illness, 18:21 and I know that there's viewers watching right now listening 18:25 because that's they're looking, they're looking for a way out. 18:31 And I know that our NEWSTART program 18:34 is a way out. 18:36 If you have diabetes, if you're overweight, 18:39 if you have cardiovascular disease, 18:41 if you got any kind of disease, 18:43 you should pick up that phone and give us a call. 18:46 Call 800-525-9192. 18:51 Ask for me and we'll talk direct 18:54 and we'll do what we can to help you. 18:56 You know a lot of folks don't have the funds 19:00 and we do have a scholarship fund here. 19:02 I know you know that. 19:05 There's never a lot of money in it, 19:07 but sometimes it's enough just to help people... 19:10 Get them in the program. 19:12 Yeah and they help them with the program of course. 19:15 Now coming back to this other. 19:18 One of the, one of our patients who came back on a restart 19:22 but he came with his wife this time. 19:24 That's why I say that spouse 19:26 and they're so excited about it, 19:28 both of them now. 19:29 They understand it 19:31 but he is in medical insurance 19:34 working with hospitals and here's the thing, 19:36 that's the reason why I'm saying, 19:38 take care of your health. 19:40 He said that the insurance companies 19:42 were all excited you know about this 19:45 because all the government funds 19:46 that are going to flow into it, 19:49 he said, "There was only one insurance company 19:52 in the area where he is up in Oregon 19:55 that even broke even, all the others lost money." 19:59 And he said that, 20:00 that the hospitals were really excited about it 20:03 but now they're seeing what's happening 20:05 and it's going to be a disaster. 20:08 So when you don't need the doctors, 20:10 you don't need the medicine 20:11 and you don't need the hospital, 20:13 then you can take charge of your own health. 20:16 Do this, it's a little bit harder maybe at first, 20:20 but when you get into it and you feel good 20:22 and you keep in touch with us, 20:24 and your spouse is on your side, 20:26 you can by God's help. 20:29 It's always with the help of the Holy Spirit 20:32 to keep talking to our hearts 20:34 when we get off the track 20:36 where we can do this and have a good life. 20:39 Now what about Damien? 20:41 What's the prognosis here what is, what's...? 20:43 How do you feel as his doctor 20:46 him going back out into the world? 20:48 Well, he's got the metabolic syndrome. 20:51 And his triglycerides went 20:55 from 261 down to 161. 21:02 And so that's, that's one of the things 21:04 that the metabolic syndrome is the elevated triglycerides 21:07 while the HDL being low as it is the way that is 21:11 but then he's already understands 21:14 the diet and exercise. 21:16 These guys were doing, they were competing, 21:19 they were about three or four of them. 21:21 And they were going out walking seven to ten miles. 21:24 Rick was one of them. Didn't Rick go with them? 21:26 Yeah, all these guys, yeah. 21:28 And so they're having amazing results 21:30 on their pulses, 21:31 and their blood pressures, and their numbers, yeah. 21:34 This was a good group. 21:36 Yeah, that's a great group. 21:37 So as he knows this and it's reconfirmed, 21:40 you know I expect that his A1c is going 21:43 to come down to a very acceptable level, 21:47 and as he stays in touch with this, 21:49 we can continue to help him. 21:52 Doctor, we are out of time. I want to thank you. 21:54 I know you're busy man. 21:56 And thank you for coming and taking your time 21:59 and God bless you in what you do. 22:01 Yeah, yeah. 22:02 For the last 26 years here at Weimar. 22:04 And thank you, friends, for joining us, 22:06 but don't go away just yet, we have a tip for you. 22:13 We're making a basic cream gravy 22:16 that is very versatile 22:17 and I believe is a staple to a plant based diet. 22:20 And with this the few simple ingredients 22:23 and a little bit of time on the stove, 22:24 you'll have a gravy in no time. 22:26 So let's get started. 22:27 What we're going to be using is the high speed blender 22:29 to just put all of our ingredients 22:31 into our blender. 22:32 I'm going to be using some water... 22:37 and our cashews which is going to replace the cream 22:40 that you get in traditional gravy. 22:43 And between the water and the cashews, 22:44 you're going to really make a nice milk or a heavy cream. 22:47 I'll be using some cornstarch. 22:49 I like to use organic cornstarch 22:51 when using this. 22:52 This is going to be our thickening agent. 22:55 And I'll be using some Bragg's liquid aminos. 22:59 And let's talk about these liquid aminos. 23:01 So why do we use Bragg's? 23:03 Well number one, it's not fermented. 23:05 Number two, it doesn't have any gluten 23:08 and a lot of people who can't do gluten 23:10 they can do soy sauce. 23:11 So this is a great alternative. 23:13 Another thing is that in terms of sodium. 23:16 If you look at a basic sodium real salt or sea salt, 23:19 one quarter teaspoon is going to be about 23:21 530 milligrams here and there. 23:24 One half teaspoon so basically we're doubling this amount 23:28 is 160 milligrams. 23:30 And what's cool about this little bottle is 23:32 you can actually spray this on your food 23:34 and in terms of sodium it would be negligible. 23:36 So this is a great alternative 23:38 for those who can't do a high sodium diet 23:41 which at NEWSTART we don't use high sodium, 23:43 so this is good for those 23:44 on a very, very low sodium diet. 23:47 So again just to put this in the perspective, 23:50 half a teaspoon of this would be 23:52 over 1000 milligrams of sodium 23:54 as opposed to half a teaspoon of this 23:56 which is 160 milligrams of sodium. 23:58 There's a little bit of food for thought, 24:00 some information that will be helpful to you, 24:02 but let's go ahead and blend this 24:04 until everything is nice and creamy. 24:26 Okay, so just a little tip here. 24:28 If you wanted to make this gravy fat free, 24:30 what you could do in place of our cashews we'll just use, 24:33 be using some white beans and that would give you 24:37 a fat free version of this gravy. 24:38 And it's really delicious. 24:40 So you could do that as well, but now what we're gonna do is 24:42 we're gonna heat this up on the stove 24:46 over about a medium high heat here. 24:54 Okay and what we're looking for is for the cornstarch 24:57 to activate with the heat 24:59 and that will turn this into a nice gravy base. 25:02 So I do want to spend a little bit time here stirring. 25:04 I don't want it to stick. 25:06 So we definitely want to baby sit this a little bit 25:08 but the great thing is once you make this gravy, 25:11 you can put this in the refrigerator 25:12 for about three to five days and it will congeal, 25:15 and what you do is just add more water reheat it 25:18 and it will make your gravy thin again. 25:20 So it will thicken overtime 25:23 and of course timing is everything, 25:25 but let's talk about 25:26 what you could use this gravy with. 25:27 You can use it as a base for soups. 25:29 You could actually put this over your potatoes. 25:34 I like to use it as over some toast 25:37 and I'll show you what that looks like 25:38 when we're done here. 25:40 And over burgers 25:42 and sky is the limit with this recipe. 25:44 And the nice thing is 25:45 you could actually freeze these. 25:47 You could put these in a, you know, the ice cube trays. 25:52 Freeze them overnight 25:54 and then what you have is about 25:55 two tablespoons of gravy thawed out, 25:58 heat it back up 25:59 and then keep them in the freezer 26:00 so that as you need gravy, 26:02 you don't have to make the gravy every single time. 26:03 So that's cool too. 26:11 So once it starts to bubble, 26:13 that activates the cornstarch with the water, 26:15 and then you have this beautiful thick gravy. 26:18 And I would just give it 26:20 maybe about 30 more seconds stirring 26:22 until you get the desired thickness 26:24 but just be aware that once it starts to cool 26:27 it will get kind of gloppy 26:29 and you do need to keep it warm before you serve it. 26:31 So timing is everything. 26:32 Make it right away just before you serve it, 26:35 and if you don't that's okay, just reheat it 26:37 and make sure it's hot before you serve it. 26:39 Okay, so let's just go ahead and pour gravy over our toast 26:43 which is a lovely breakfast idea, 26:46 and it's just really great over biscuits too. 26:50 Rice, brown rice is really lovely 26:53 and let's put a little bit of some paprika on top 26:56 just to make it look pretty. 27:00 And there you go, 27:01 you have a beautiful basic cream gravy. 27:07 Well, friends, that's it for today, 27:08 but join us next week for another episode. 27:12 In the meantime, pick up the phone 27:13 and give us a call at 1-800-525-9192. 27:19 Mention the NEWSTART NOW program 27:22 and receive the NEWSTART special. |
