Yeah. 00:08:55.16\00:08:56.50 And you sit in there and I'll be honest with you, 00:08:56.53\00:08:58.10 the first time you go, 00:08:58.13\00:08:59.47 it's a little bit shock to the system, 00:08:59.50\00:09:01.10 but the longer you go back and forth, 00:09:01.14\00:09:03.57 the easier the colder gets. 00:09:03.61\00:09:05.04 And like I said, your body actually almost craves it. 00:09:05.07\00:09:07.41 I've done it. 00:09:07.44\00:09:08.78 You come out of there feeling so energized. 00:09:08.81\00:09:10.68 You know then you get a massage after that 00:09:10.71\00:09:12.91 which makes it even better but... 00:09:12.95\00:09:14.28 Well, you're pretty energized right now. 00:09:14.32\00:09:16.52 Yeah. I feel good, so... 00:09:16.55\00:09:19.05 That's awesome. 00:09:19.09\00:09:20.42 Yep. when you'll go home. 00:09:20.46\00:09:21.79 I leave tomorrow. Do you? 00:09:21.82\00:09:23.16 Yeah. 00:09:23.19\00:09:24.53 You're gonna fly back to Florida... 00:09:24.56\00:09:25.89 Yep. And who is waiting at home? 00:09:25.93\00:09:27.43 My brother. Your brother? 00:09:27.46\00:09:28.80 Yeah. 00:09:28.83\00:09:30.17 Is he excited? Did you talk to him about it? 00:09:30.20\00:09:31.60 Yeah, I'll talk to him every day 00:09:31.63\00:09:33.17 and he's actually interested 00:09:33.20\00:09:35.00 in incorporating some of the same stuff 00:09:35.04\00:09:37.37 in his lifestyle and everything, so... 00:09:37.41\00:09:39.07 How about your mom? Have you talked to her? 00:09:39.11\00:09:40.78 Yeah, in fact she's about an hour away from here now. 00:09:40.81\00:09:44.48 She'll be here in about an hour. 00:09:44.51\00:09:46.01 Oh good. I want to meet her. 00:09:46.05\00:09:47.92 Yeah, her and my uncle are coming. 00:09:47.95\00:09:49.65 She and I've talked. Yeah. She told me. 00:09:49.68\00:09:51.99 Good. 00:09:52.02\00:09:53.36 So... 00:09:53.39\00:09:54.72 So what words of encouragement 00:09:54.76\00:09:57.96 can you give our viewers about coming here? 00:09:57.99\00:10:04.40 I would say, you know, definitely give it a shot. 00:10:04.43\00:10:07.07 It's definitely worth it. 00:10:07.10\00:10:09.00 The one thing I'll say is just commit yourself totally to it 00:10:09.04\00:10:12.51 for the 18 days you're here you know. 00:10:12.54\00:10:15.54 I had this quote, it's always been like a favorite of mine 00:10:15.58\00:10:17.91 it says, "To give anything less than your best, 00:10:17.95\00:10:20.42 is to sacrifice the gift." 00:10:20.45\00:10:22.58 And so I kind of went by that while I was here, you know. 00:10:22.62\00:10:25.02 I just wanted to dedicate myself completely 00:10:25.05\00:10:27.26 to it for the 18 days. 00:10:27.29\00:10:29.19 And see what I got result wise, 00:10:29.22\00:10:31.29 and like I said, it's been nothing but positive. 00:10:31.33\00:10:33.93 So I would just say... 00:10:33.96\00:10:35.86 I'm detecting a little emotion. Yeah, it's a little bit. 00:10:35.90\00:10:38.47 I mean it's... 00:10:38.50\00:10:39.83 Is that from the core you just did? 00:10:39.87\00:10:41.34 That and just, you know, 00:10:41.37\00:10:43.24 for like some of the stuff for me like weight 00:10:43.27\00:10:45.41 it's been a lifelong struggle for me. 00:10:45.44\00:10:48.11 You know, I've always been a bigger kid and even grown up, 00:10:48.14\00:10:51.78 you know, I always had a little extra weight. 00:10:51.81\00:10:54.62 You know I've lost it here and there 00:10:54.65\00:10:56.12 but it's always come right back on, 00:10:56.15\00:10:57.99 you know, eventually, so... 00:10:58.02\00:10:59.79 But now you feel you got it. 00:10:59.82\00:11:01.19 Now, I see the light at the end of the tunnel 00:11:01.22\00:11:02.72 and I think it's there, you know. 00:11:02.76\00:11:04.09 That's awesome. 00:11:04.13\00:11:05.46 And Lord willing and I'm sure will help, you know. 00:11:05.49\00:11:07.86 The Lord's willing. 00:11:07.90\00:11:09.23 No, that's why I said, I'm sure he will help with it, so, 00:11:09.26\00:11:12.60 you know... 00:11:12.63\00:11:13.97 Will be prodding you all long. Yeah. 00:11:14.00\00:11:16.37 Nothing but positive. 00:11:16.40\00:11:17.74 Lord speaking in your ear. Yeah, yeah. 00:11:17.77\00:11:19.44 Are you sure you wanted to do that? 00:11:19.47\00:11:21.61 So... 00:11:21.64\00:11:22.98 Well, I'm so happy for you. 00:11:23.01\00:11:24.98 No complaints. Yeah. 00:11:25.01\00:11:26.41 You know, and I want to just take a moment to thank you 00:11:26.45\00:11:29.55 for being willing to come and share 00:11:29.58\00:11:32.09 because your story someone's viewing you, 00:11:32.12\00:11:35.42 somewhere in the world right now 00:11:35.46\00:11:37.49 and they're going, "Wow, he did it, I can do it." 00:11:37.53\00:11:41.66 Anybody that has an opportunity to try, they should. 00:11:41.70\00:11:43.43 All right, brother. 00:11:43.47\00:11:44.80 It will make a life changer for him. 00:11:44.83\00:11:46.17 Thank you so much. Thank you. 00:11:46.20\00:11:47.54 And thank you, friends. 00:11:47.57\00:11:48.90 Don't go away because Dr. Lukens is up next. 00:11:48.94\00:11:52.67 Welcome back, friends, and as I promised 00:12:25.61\00:12:28.04 Dr Lukens in the house. 00:12:28.08\00:12:29.94 Okay, they tell us that's' a, that's a newest way. 00:12:29.98\00:12:32.25 Yeah, I forgot it... 00:12:32.28\00:12:33.62 I know as the kids are doing that all the time. 00:12:33.65\00:12:35.35 Yeah. What does it mean? 00:12:35.38\00:12:36.72 But we are not kids. No, no. 00:12:36.75\00:12:38.09 Probably we act like kids. We act like kids. 00:12:38.12\00:12:41.42 So we're gonna talk about Damian. 00:12:41.46\00:12:44.66 Yes. 00:12:44.69\00:12:46.03 And you've been his doctor now for two weeks. 00:12:46.06\00:12:47.96 Yep. 00:12:48.00\00:12:49.33 And we've seen some tremendous results. 00:12:49.36\00:12:52.80 You know, I've heard a lot of things 00:12:52.83\00:12:54.50 but I want to hear from the doctor 00:12:54.54\00:12:56.84 exactly some of the changes that you know 00:12:56.87\00:13:01.04 maybe the viewers can realize if they too were to come 00:13:01.08\00:13:06.58 such as triglycerides or diabetes 00:13:06.61\00:13:10.75 or high blood pressure. 00:13:10.79\00:13:12.62 How's he doing? 00:13:12.65\00:13:14.06 Well, you know according 00:13:14.09\00:13:15.42 to Dr John McDougall and some people 00:13:15.46\00:13:17.23 that are watching this probably have heard of him 00:13:17.26\00:13:20.06 and he believes that 00:13:20.10\00:13:21.93 95 percent of all Type 2 diabetics should be able 00:13:21.96\00:13:25.37 to get off their medications. 00:13:25.40\00:13:28.64 Turn their, their disease around 00:13:28.67\00:13:32.07 and not be diabetic anymore, 00:13:32.11\00:13:33.58 so I'm talking to somebody that's been promoting 00:13:33.61\00:13:37.18 this for 35, 40 years. 00:13:37.21\00:13:40.15 But I think that he is right. 00:13:40.18\00:13:41.88 And we're in the process right now of gathering people. 00:13:41.92\00:13:44.99 We want them if we can to be on insulin 00:13:45.02\00:13:49.06 to have kidney failure and to see what we can do. 00:13:49.09\00:13:52.13 We want to get 50 to 70 of these and see what happens. 00:13:52.16\00:13:57.73 Well, we'll take all the diabetics 00:13:57.77\00:13:59.57 that are willing to come 00:13:59.60\00:14:01.27 especially when they're on insulin. 00:14:01.30\00:14:02.64 But you're on kidney disease too. 00:14:02.67\00:14:04.87 Yeah, well, I mean that's a, that's a real big, 00:14:04.91\00:14:08.08 big thing because we were just talking about this 00:14:08.11\00:14:10.61 before we came on 00:14:10.65\00:14:13.18 and about the guy that is waiting 00:14:13.21\00:14:16.02 for a kidney transplant. 00:14:16.05\00:14:17.49 Here's the deal on that. 00:14:17.52\00:14:19.95 You will only be able to get a kidney now 00:14:19.99\00:14:22.29 if you have a relative or a friend 00:14:22.32\00:14:24.76 that's willing to donate a kidney, 00:14:24.79\00:14:27.16 then you will probably get a kidney. 00:14:27.20\00:14:29.16 And then and very soon 00:14:29.20\00:14:31.20 they projected that in, you know, 00:14:31.23\00:14:33.74 that they're going to be two more million diabetics, 00:14:33.77\00:14:38.04 four more million diabetics in a period of like 10 years 00:14:38.07\00:14:42.64 and then they reach that mark within two years. 00:14:42.68\00:14:45.88 And they say we're not going to have enough machines 00:14:45.91\00:14:49.25 to do dialysis on all the people that... 00:14:49.28\00:14:51.62 It's an explosion of diabetes that's a metabolic syndrome. 00:14:51.65\00:14:54.92 But coming back to Damian, 00:14:54.96\00:14:57.46 he has an uncle who is a doctor. 00:14:57.49\00:15:00.86 And his uncle and he evidently have known 00:15:00.90\00:15:04.07 quite a bit about lifestyle. 00:15:04.10\00:15:07.70 So when he went in, 00:15:07.74\00:15:09.07 he actually found out that he was diabetic. 00:15:09.10\00:15:12.61 He started doing the, the exercise. 00:15:12.64\00:15:17.68 And he was doing a lot of exercise 00:15:17.71\00:15:20.45 and then he started changing his diet, 00:15:20.48\00:15:23.05 I said, "So what kind of a dietary change 00:15:23.08\00:15:24.99 did you make?" 00:15:25.02\00:15:26.35 He said, "Well, you know, 00:15:26.39\00:15:27.72 what I'm usually doing instead of eating a big meal at night, 00:15:27.76\00:15:31.66 I just eat salads or something." 00:15:31.69\00:15:33.60 I said, "Well, how that go?" 00:15:33.63\00:15:34.96 because you know that was a good deal. 00:15:35.00\00:15:37.23 He said, "No" he said, "I could keep my A1Cs 00:15:37.27\00:15:40.34 in a pretty good range with that, you see... 00:15:40.37\00:15:43.27 His A1c was really high. 00:15:43.30\00:15:45.21 Well, no, no. 00:15:45.24\00:15:46.57 When he found out it was high and then he would do this 00:15:46.61\00:15:51.05 and then his A1Cs would come down 00:15:51.08\00:15:54.15 to a more acceptable level, 00:15:54.18\00:15:56.65 and then he would gain more weight 00:15:56.69\00:15:58.65 than here and you know whatever. 00:15:58.69\00:16:00.52 I mean it's so easy to gain weight. 00:16:00.56\00:16:03.19 You know especially if you've been overweight 00:16:03.22\00:16:05.49 and trying to lose it, 00:16:05.53\00:16:06.86 here's a sideline another side bar, 00:16:06.90\00:16:09.16 98 percent of all the free fat 00:16:09.20\00:16:11.87 that you eat that comes from a bottle 00:16:11.90\00:16:13.74 goes back into your fat cells. 00:16:13.77\00:16:15.77 So you can't go on a diet 00:16:15.80\00:16:17.14 that's going to be the end of diet. 00:16:17.17\00:16:18.91 Except what we do here, people can lose weight 00:16:18.94\00:16:21.04 and keep it off. 00:16:21.08\00:16:22.41 So anyway coming back to this other. 00:16:22.44\00:16:24.61 So he would do that 00:16:24.65\00:16:26.48 but then eventually as he gained more weight, 00:16:26.51\00:16:29.78 he wasn't able to exercise enough. 00:16:29.82\00:16:31.75 Here he is and now his A1cs are going up again. 00:16:31.79\00:16:35.29 So the last time he went into his doctor 00:16:35.32\00:16:38.03 his A1c is 10. 00:16:38.06\00:16:42.30 That means that his blood sugar is always over. 00:16:42.33\00:16:46.90 You know, the average blood sugar 00:16:46.94\00:16:48.47 is always over 200. 00:16:48.50\00:16:49.90 Yeah, that's not good. 00:16:49.94\00:16:51.67 Yeah, no, no, that's, that's very bad. 00:16:51.71\00:16:54.64 And the other thing is that, 00:16:54.68\00:16:57.61 he was spilling three plus sugar in the urine. 00:16:57.65\00:17:01.42 Now, when I checked his urine I looked at it 00:17:01.45\00:17:03.49 and I thought he's on one of those new medications 00:17:03.52\00:17:05.85 because I've seen this a couple of times before. 00:17:05.89\00:17:08.69 They can give you a medicine, 00:17:08.72\00:17:10.56 they will dump all your, not all your sugar 00:17:10.59\00:17:13.06 but it will dump your sugar into your urine. 00:17:13.09\00:17:16.30 And then your numbers are better, 00:17:16.33\00:17:18.23 your A1c is better. 00:17:18.27\00:17:19.87 We tried for 50 years 00:17:19.90\00:17:21.34 to keep the sugar out of the urine 00:17:21.37\00:17:23.20 and now we've got a medication 00:17:23.24\00:17:25.17 that are treating just the numbers. 00:17:25.21\00:17:27.28 It doesn't help your diabetes. Not at all. 00:17:27.31\00:17:29.54 Now the other thing is, is he didn't have insurance 00:17:29.58\00:17:33.28 and I think he's on the Affordable Care Act now. 00:17:33.31\00:17:36.92 Some people call it Obamacare. 00:17:36.95\00:17:39.19 And so, anyway he would go in. 00:17:39.22\00:17:43.02 And I said so what, when your A1c was 10, 00:17:43.06\00:17:46.46 what does your doctor tell you? 00:17:46.49\00:17:49.16 He says, "Well, you know, diet, exercise, 00:17:49.20\00:17:52.00 you know, do these things. 00:17:52.03\00:17:53.37 Keep on with your metformin and stuff like that." 00:17:53.40\00:17:56.81 That's the reason why now people are going 00:17:56.84\00:17:58.67 to have to be in charge of their own health. 00:17:58.71\00:18:02.04 Amen. 00:18:02.08\00:18:03.41 Because that's the only way it can happen. 00:18:03.45\00:18:04.88 We don't have medical dollars to treat the people 00:18:04.91\00:18:09.28 with all the medications 00:18:09.32\00:18:11.29 and then they need to get to the root of the problem 00:18:11.32\00:18:13.92 and change their health around. 00:18:13.96\00:18:16.09 It's crazy what's going on out there 00:18:16.12\00:18:18.19 as far as sickness and illness, 00:18:18.23\00:18:21.50 and I know that there's viewers watching right now listening 00:18:21.53\00:18:25.37 because that's they're looking, they're looking for a way out. 00:18:25.40\00:18:31.34 And I know that our NEWSTART program 00:18:31.37\00:18:34.74 is a way out. 00:18:34.78\00:18:36.31 If you have diabetes, if you're overweight, 00:18:36.34\00:18:39.38 if you have cardiovascular disease, 00:18:39.41\00:18:41.58 if you got any kind of disease, 00:18:41.62\00:18:43.92 you should pick up that phone and give us a call. 00:18:43.95\00:18:46.65 Call 800-525-9192. 00:18:46.69\00:18:51.36 Ask for me and we'll talk direct 00:18:51.39\00:18:54.03 and we'll do what we can to help you. 00:18:54.06\00:18:56.63 You know a lot of folks don't have the funds 00:18:56.67\00:19:00.04 and we do have a scholarship fund here. 00:19:00.07\00:19:02.80 I know you know that. 00:19:02.84\00:19:05.81 There's never a lot of money in it, 00:19:05.84\00:19:07.91 but sometimes it's enough just to help people... 00:19:07.94\00:19:10.78 Get them in the program. 00:19:10.81\00:19:12.85 Yeah and they help them with the program of course. 00:19:12.88\00:19:15.85 Now coming back to this other. 00:19:15.88\00:19:18.59 One of the, one of our patients who came back on a restart 00:19:18.62\00:19:22.39 but he came with his wife this time. 00:19:22.42\00:19:24.59 That's why I say that spouse 00:19:24.63\00:19:26.39 and they're so excited about it, 00:19:26.43\00:19:28.36 both of them now. 00:19:28.40\00:19:29.73 They understand it 00:19:29.76\00:19:31.10 but he is in medical insurance 00:19:31.13\00:19:33.97 working with hospitals and here's the thing, 00:19:34.00\00:19:36.77 that's the reason why I'm saying, 00:19:36.81\00:19:38.14 take care of your health. 00:19:38.17\00:19:40.54 He said that the insurance companies 00:19:40.58\00:19:42.71 were all excited you know about this 00:19:42.74\00:19:45.11 because all the government funds 00:19:45.15\00:19:46.75 that are going to flow into it, 00:19:46.78\00:19:49.38 he said, "There was only one insurance company 00:19:49.42\00:19:52.79 in the area where he is up in Oregon 00:19:52.82\00:19:55.79 that even broke even, all the others lost money." 00:19:55.82\00:19:59.19 And he said that, 00:19:59.23\00:20:00.66 that the hospitals were really excited about it 00:20:00.70\00:20:03.47 but now they're seeing what's happening 00:20:03.50\00:20:05.27 and it's going to be a disaster. 00:20:05.30\00:20:08.20 So when you don't need the doctors, 00:20:08.24\00:20:10.07 you don't need the medicine 00:20:10.11\00:20:11.71 and you don't need the hospital, 00:20:11.74\00:20:13.44 then you can take charge of your own health. 00:20:13.48\00:20:16.44 Do this, it's a little bit harder maybe at first, 00:20:16.48\00:20:20.05 but when you get into it and you feel good 00:20:20.08\00:20:22.82 and you keep in touch with us, 00:20:22.85\00:20:24.72 and your spouse is on your side, 00:20:24.75\00:20:26.76 you can by God's help. 00:20:26.79\00:20:29.09 It's always with the help of the Holy Spirit 00:20:29.12\00:20:32.56 to keep talking to our hearts 00:20:32.59\00:20:34.56 when we get off the track 00:20:34.60\00:20:36.23 where we can do this and have a good life. 00:20:36.26\00:20:39.47 Now what about Damien? 00:20:39.50\00:20:41.50 What's the prognosis here what is, what's...? 00:20:41.54\00:20:43.81 How do you feel as his doctor 00:20:43.84\00:20:46.31 him going back out into the world? 00:20:46.34\00:20:48.48 Well, he's got the metabolic syndrome. 00:20:48.51\00:20:51.38 And his triglycerides went 00:20:51.41\00:20:55.92 from 261 down to 161. 00:20:55.95\00:21:02.29 And so that's, that's one of the things 00:21:02.32\00:21:04.53 that the metabolic syndrome is the elevated triglycerides 00:21:04.56\00:21:07.23 while the HDL being low as it is the way that is 00:21:07.26\00:21:11.43 but then he's already understands 00:21:11.47\00:21:14.70 the diet and exercise. 00:21:14.74\00:21:16.07 These guys were doing, they were competing, 00:21:16.10\00:21:19.57 they were about three or four of them. 00:21:19.61\00:21:21.11 And they were going out walking seven to ten miles. 00:21:21.14\00:21:24.31 Rick was one of them. Didn't Rick go with them? 00:21:24.35\00:21:26.41 Yeah, all these guys, yeah. 00:21:26.45\00:21:28.18 And so they're having amazing results 00:21:28.22\00:21:30.19 on their pulses, 00:21:30.22\00:21:31.95 and their blood pressures, and their numbers, yeah. 00:21:31.99\00:21:34.36 This was a good group. 00:21:34.39\00:21:36.02 Yeah, that's a great group. 00:21:36.06\00:21:37.39 So as he knows this and it's reconfirmed, 00:21:37.43\00:21:40.73 you know I expect that his A1c is going 00:21:40.76\00:21:43.90 to come down to a very acceptable level, 00:21:43.93\00:21:47.64 and as he stays in touch with this, 00:21:47.67\00:21:49.30 we can continue to help him. 00:21:49.34\00:21:52.14 Doctor, we are out of time. I want to thank you. 00:21:52.17\00:21:54.88 I know you're busy man. 00:21:54.91\00:21:56.91 And thank you for coming and taking your time 00:21:56.95\00:21:59.41 and God bless you in what you do. 00:21:59.45\00:22:01.45 Yeah, yeah. 00:22:01.48\00:22:02.82 For the last 26 years here at Weimar. 00:22:02.85\00:22:04.62 And thank you, friends, for joining us, 00:22:04.65\00:22:06.62 but don't go away just yet, we have a tip for you. 00:22:06.65\00:22:09.06 We're making a basic cream gravy 00:22:13.56\00:22:16.10 that is very versatile 00:22:16.13\00:22:17.73 and I believe is a staple to a plant based diet. 00:22:17.77\00:22:20.74 And with this the few simple ingredients 00:22:20.77\00:22:22.97 and a little bit of time on the stove, 00:22:23.00\00:22:24.91 you'll have a gravy in no time. 00:22:24.94\00:22:26.47 So let's get started. 00:22:26.51\00:22:27.84 What we're going to be using is the high speed blender 00:22:27.88\00:22:29.91 to just put all of our ingredients 00:22:29.94\00:22:31.58 into our blender. 00:22:31.61\00:22:32.95 I'm going to be using some water... 00:22:32.98\00:22:34.38 and our cashews which is going to replace the cream 00:22:37.49\00:22:40.72 that you get in traditional gravy. 00:22:40.76\00:22:43.16 And between the water and the cashews, 00:22:43.19\00:22:44.83 you're going to really make a nice milk or a heavy cream. 00:22:44.86\00:22:47.80 I'll be using some cornstarch. 00:22:47.83\00:22:49.60 I like to use organic cornstarch 00:22:49.63\00:22:51.20 when using this. 00:22:51.23\00:22:52.80 This is going to be our thickening agent. 00:22:52.83\00:22:55.44 And I'll be using some Bragg's liquid aminos. 00:22:55.47\00:22:59.17 And let's talk about these liquid aminos. 00:22:59.21\00:23:01.74 So why do we use Bragg's? 00:23:01.78\00:23:03.18 Well number one, it's not fermented. 00:23:03.21\00:23:05.48 Number two, it doesn't have any gluten 00:23:05.51\00:23:08.52 and a lot of people who can't do gluten 00:23:08.55\00:23:10.29 they can do soy sauce. 00:23:10.32\00:23:11.65 So this is a great alternative. 00:23:11.69\00:23:13.42 Another thing is that in terms of sodium. 00:23:13.46\00:23:16.09 If you look at a basic sodium real salt or sea salt, 00:23:16.12\00:23:19.76 one quarter teaspoon is going to be about 00:23:19.79\00:23:21.76 530 milligrams here and there. 00:23:21.80\00:23:24.73 One half teaspoon so basically we're doubling this amount 00:23:24.77\00:23:28.17 is 160 milligrams. 00:23:28.20\00:23:29.97 And what's cool about this little bottle is 00:23:30.01\00:23:32.81 you can actually spray this on your food 00:23:32.84\00:23:34.58 and in terms of sodium it would be negligible. 00:23:34.61\00:23:36.91 So this is a great alternative 00:23:36.95\00:23:38.58 for those who can't do a high sodium diet 00:23:38.61\00:23:41.08 which at NEWSTART we don't use high sodium, 00:23:41.12\00:23:43.25 so this is good for those 00:23:43.28\00:23:44.62 on a very, very low sodium diet. 00:23:44.65\00:23:47.09 So again just to put this in the perspective, 00:23:47.12\00:23:50.36 half a teaspoon of this would be 00:23:50.39\00:23:52.03 over 1000 milligrams of sodium 00:23:52.06\00:23:54.00 as opposed to half a teaspoon of this 00:23:54.03\00:23:56.26 which is 160 milligrams of sodium. 00:23:56.30\00:23:58.93 There's a little bit of food for thought, 00:23:58.97\00:24:00.30 some information that will be helpful to you, 00:24:00.34\00:24:02.60 but let's go ahead and blend this 00:24:02.64\00:24:03.97 until everything is nice and creamy. 00:24:04.01\00:24:05.57 Okay, so just a little tip here. 00:24:26.26\00:24:28.06 If you wanted to make this gravy fat free, 00:24:28.10\00:24:30.80 what you could do in place of our cashews we'll just use, 00:24:30.83\00:24:33.60 be using some white beans and that would give you 00:24:33.64\00:24:37.17 a fat free version of this gravy. 00:24:37.21\00:24:38.81 And it's really delicious. 00:24:38.84\00:24:40.28 So you could do that as well, but now what we're gonna do is 00:24:40.31\00:24:42.91 we're gonna heat this up on the stove 00:24:42.94\00:24:46.68 over about a medium high heat here. 00:24:46.72\00:24:48.62 Okay and what we're looking for is for the cornstarch 00:24:54.16\00:24:57.39 to activate with the heat 00:24:57.43\00:24:59.16 and that will turn this into a nice gravy base. 00:24:59.19\00:25:02.46 So I do want to spend a little bit time here stirring. 00:25:02.50\00:25:04.77 I don't want it to stick. 00:25:04.80\00:25:06.23 So we definitely want to baby sit this a little bit 00:25:06.27\00:25:08.84 but the great thing is once you make this gravy, 00:25:08.87\00:25:11.41 you can put this in the refrigerator 00:25:11.44\00:25:12.87 for about three to five days and it will congeal, 00:25:12.91\00:25:15.94 and what you do is just add more water reheat it 00:25:15.98\00:25:18.41 and it will make your gravy thin again. 00:25:18.45\00:25:20.72 So it will thicken overtime 00:25:20.75\00:25:23.12 and of course timing is everything, 00:25:23.15\00:25:25.02 but let's talk about 00:25:25.05\00:25:26.39 what you could use this gravy with. 00:25:26.42\00:25:27.79 You can use it as a base for soups. 00:25:27.82\00:25:29.79 You could actually put this over your potatoes. 00:25:29.82\00:25:34.70 I like to use it as over some toast 00:25:34.73\00:25:37.37 and I'll show you what that looks like 00:25:37.40\00:25:38.73 when we're done here. 00:25:38.77\00:25:40.30 And over burgers 00:25:40.34\00:25:41.97 and sky is the limit with this recipe. 00:25:42.00\00:25:44.27 And the nice thing is 00:25:44.31\00:25:45.67 you could actually freeze these. 00:25:45.71\00:25:47.64 You could put these in a, you know, the ice cube trays. 00:25:47.68\00:25:52.71 Freeze them overnight 00:25:52.75\00:25:54.08 and then what you have is about 00:25:54.12\00:25:55.45 two tablespoons of gravy thawed out, 00:25:55.48\00:25:57.99 heat it back up 00:25:58.02\00:25:59.35 and then keep them in the freezer 00:25:59.39\00:26:00.72 so that as you need gravy, 00:26:00.76\00:26:02.09 you don't have to make the gravy every single time. 00:26:02.12\00:26:03.93 So that's cool too. 00:26:03.96\00:26:05.43 So once it starts to bubble, 00:26:11.43\00:26:13.44 that activates the cornstarch with the water, 00:26:13.47\00:26:15.74 and then you have this beautiful thick gravy. 00:26:15.77\00:26:18.84 And I would just give it 00:26:18.87\00:26:20.94 maybe about 30 more seconds stirring 00:26:20.98\00:26:22.74 until you get the desired thickness 00:26:22.78\00:26:24.58 but just be aware that once it starts to cool 00:26:24.61\00:26:27.15 it will get kind of gloppy 00:26:27.18\00:26:28.98 and you do need to keep it warm before you serve it. 00:26:29.02\00:26:31.52 So timing is everything. 00:26:31.55\00:26:32.89 Make it right away just before you serve it, 00:26:32.92\00:26:35.56 and if you don't that's okay, just reheat it 00:26:35.59\00:26:37.76 and make sure it's hot before you serve it. 00:26:37.79\00:26:39.69 Okay, so let's just go ahead and pour gravy over our toast 00:26:39.73\00:26:43.37 which is a lovely breakfast idea, 00:26:43.40\00:26:46.80 and it's just really great over biscuits too. 00:26:46.84\00:26:50.61 Rice, brown rice is really lovely 00:26:50.64\00:26:53.04 and let's put a little bit of some paprika on top 00:26:53.07\00:26:56.61 just to make it look pretty. 00:26:56.64\00:27:00.42 And there you go, 00:27:00.45\00:27:01.78 you have a beautiful basic cream gravy. 00:27:01.82\00:27:04.09 Well, friends, that's it for today, 00:27:07.19\00:27:08.86 but join us next week for another episode. 00:27:08.89\00:27:12.03 In the meantime, pick up the phone
