Every year in America
00:00:10.97\00:00:12.31
there are over
one million deaths
00:00:12.34\00:00:13.68
because of Type 2
diabetes and chronic obesity.
00:00:13.71\00:00:16.54
This includes heart
attacks and strokes.
00:00:16.58\00:00:18.95
That's six and half,
747s crashing everyday.
00:00:18.98\00:00:22.52
What's even more surprising
is that the fix is easy.
00:00:22.55\00:00:25.85
It's your lifestyle.
00:00:25.89\00:00:27.29
Wouldn't it be nice
00:00:27.32\00:00:28.66
if you could actually add
quality years to your life
00:00:28.69\00:00:30.76
rather than dyeing
one organ at a time?
00:00:30.79\00:00:33.60
Obesity and
diabetes are the cause
00:00:33.63\00:00:35.43
of over million deaths per year.
00:00:35.46\00:00:38.00
Most diseases are reversible
00:00:38.03\00:00:40.14
because most diseases
are lifestyle diseases,
00:00:40.17\00:00:42.97
especially, Type 2
diabetes and chronic obesity.
00:00:43.00\00:00:46.47
Seriously now,
they can be reversed
00:00:46.51\00:00:48.68
and the quality of
your life can be renewed.

00:01:06.16\00:01:11.73
Hi, friends.
00:01:11.77\00:01:13.10
And welcome to another
edition of NEWSTART Now.
00:01:13.13\00:01:15.74
I'm your host Ron Giannoni.
00:01:15.77\00:01:18.11
Don't touch that dial.
00:01:18.14\00:01:19.51
We have an
amazing story for you.
00:01:19.54\00:01:22.48
In our studio with me
00:01:22.51\00:01:24.38
is Jim Thompson from Tennessee.
00:01:24.41\00:01:27.62
And this story is gonna
just excite you, I know.
00:01:27.65\00:01:31.85
Let's meet Jim.
00:01:31.89\00:01:33.22
How are you, brother?
00:01:33.25\00:01:34.59
I'm great. Good to see you.
00:01:34.62\00:01:35.96
Good to see you, Ron.
Yeah, it's good to be seeing.
00:01:35.99\00:01:38.59
Isn't it? Yes.
00:01:38.63\00:01:39.96
Let's get right into the story.
00:01:40.00\00:01:41.70
I want you to tell me
00:01:41.73\00:01:44.33
what you told me over the
phone almost three weeks ago,
00:01:44.37\00:01:48.54
three weeks ago tomorrow.
00:01:48.57\00:01:50.21
You're in the
hospital, they just tell you,
00:01:50.24\00:01:54.01
what did they say to you?
00:01:54.04\00:01:55.84
This was Thursday before
the NEWSTART program started.
00:01:55.88\00:01:59.38
I believe it was August 6th
00:01:59.41\00:02:01.68
and some
preliminary tests suggested
00:02:01.72\00:02:05.29
that I had
blockages in my arteries.
00:02:05.32\00:02:09.52
So last Thursday I
was in the hospital.
00:02:09.56\00:02:11.63
I still have the mark here
00:02:11.66\00:02:12.99
where they had done
a heart catheterization
00:02:13.03\00:02:17.43
and they confirmed
that I had an artery
00:02:17.47\00:02:20.54
that was blocked 70 percent
00:02:20.57\00:02:23.04
and three more
arteries blocked 90 percent.
00:02:23.07\00:02:28.44
And my cardiologist indicated
that the surgeon would come in
00:02:28.48\00:02:32.45
and he did and he explained
the heart bypass procedure
00:02:32.48\00:02:37.09
and then they wanted me to do
00:02:37.12\00:02:39.72
the preliminary preparation
00:02:39.75\00:02:44.29
for the heart bypass and they,
00:02:44.33\00:02:48.46
they said they had it scheduled
00:02:48.50\00:02:49.83
for the following Monday.
00:02:49.86\00:02:51.20
They worked in for Monday.
00:02:51.23\00:02:54.14
And I said I want
to think about it.
00:02:54.17\00:02:56.20
Right.
00:02:56.24\00:02:57.57
And really, no
alternative was given to me
00:02:57.61\00:03:01.01
but I still
wanted to think about it.
00:03:01.04\00:03:05.28
But someone
called you, a young lady
00:03:05.31\00:03:08.92
who actually called
me and then I called you.
00:03:08.95\00:03:12.62
Let me tell you
how that happened.
00:03:12.89\00:03:14.29
Yeah.
00:03:14.32\00:03:17.39
I did leave the hospital without
00:03:17.43\00:03:19.33
the preliminary preparation
for the bypass surgery.
00:03:19.36\00:03:24.97
And I made
arrangements for friend of mine,
00:03:25.00\00:03:28.67
colleague to handle my
cases in court on Monday.
00:03:28.70\00:03:31.21
I'm an attorney.
00:03:31.24\00:03:32.57
And I had court
scheduled on Monday.
00:03:32.61\00:03:34.21
But I had a box of files
that I needed to get to him.
00:03:34.24\00:03:37.58
He graciously agreed
to cover court for me
00:03:37.61\00:03:39.91
after I explained
what was going on.
00:03:39.95\00:03:41.52
Right.
00:03:41.55\00:03:42.88
And at that time,
I was still thinking
00:03:42.92\00:03:44.25
about the bypass surgery.
00:03:44.29\00:03:47.09
And I had to go to the
office to drop off these files
00:03:47.12\00:03:50.23
but on the way,
00:03:50.26\00:03:51.96
we passed by our
church and my wife noticed
00:03:51.99\00:03:55.20
that our pastor's car
was in the parking lot.
00:03:55.23\00:03:59.00
And she said,
"Don't you want to tell
00:03:59.03\00:04:02.74
Pastor Baker
that what's going on?
00:04:02.77\00:04:06.88
And I somewhat
reluctantly agreed
00:04:06.91\00:04:09.44
because I felt
like I needed prayer
00:04:09.48\00:04:11.68
and I wanted to tell him.
00:04:11.71\00:04:13.68
So we did go in and
we got to meet with him
00:04:13.72\00:04:16.02
and we prayed
00:04:16.05\00:04:18.09
and kind of long story
short, in talking to a friend,
00:04:18.12\00:04:22.82
Susan Harbough,
it was, they said,
00:04:22.86\00:04:27.10
"You need to go to Weimar."
00:04:27.13\00:04:29.16
Of course, I, at that time
I had no clue what Weimar was.
00:04:29.20\00:04:32.47
You didn't, never
even heard about Weimar.
00:04:32.50\00:04:34.47
I might have. If I
did, I don't remember it.
00:04:34.50\00:04:37.41
All right. Now she calls me.
00:04:37.44\00:04:38.97
Is that right?
00:04:39.01\00:04:40.34
Susan is a nurse.
00:04:40.38\00:04:41.71
She's married to a doctor
00:04:41.74\00:04:43.08
and she is well aware of
the ministry here at Weimar.
00:04:43.11\00:04:48.98
And she said,
"Let me call you back."
00:04:49.02\00:04:51.12
And so of course, I
don't know what happened
00:04:51.15\00:04:53.52
in the interim time
but then she called us back
00:04:53.56\00:04:56.52
while we were
still at church and said,
00:04:56.56\00:04:58.93
"There is a class that
starts on Sunday after.
00:04:58.96\00:05:03.03
You get there Sunday
00:05:03.06\00:05:04.40
and you'll have a
first full day on Monday.
00:05:04.43\00:05:07.34
But it's full.
00:05:07.37\00:05:08.94
So let me call you back."
00:05:08.97\00:05:10.71
And then I believe that,
00:05:10.74\00:05:14.44
I didn't actually hear from her.
00:05:14.48\00:05:15.88
I think I heard
from you at home.
00:05:15.91\00:05:17.88
You called me and we talked.
00:05:17.91\00:05:20.95
Then Dr. Gallant
called and we talked
00:05:20.98\00:05:23.95
and then you
called back and said,
00:05:23.99\00:05:25.92
"Jim, we were full but
we made a place for you.
00:05:25.95\00:05:29.32
We worked it out
if you want to come."
00:05:29.36\00:05:33.29
And basically,
let me interrupt here.
00:05:33.33\00:05:35.80
What happened was I found
that we were full and I said,
00:05:35.83\00:05:40.37
"Look, I don't
care if we are full.
00:05:40.40\00:05:42.60
This guy needs to be here."
00:05:42.64\00:05:45.04
And so when I
called you and I said,
00:05:45.07\00:05:46.64
"Look, we're gonna
make room for you."
00:05:46.68\00:05:48.71
This was like on Friday
00:05:48.74\00:05:51.28
and you weren't sure
00:05:51.31\00:05:52.65
you could get a
plane out by Sunday.
00:05:52.68\00:05:54.85
Right.
00:05:54.88\00:05:56.22
Eventually you got here, right?
00:05:56.25\00:05:57.59
Well, you said,
"Do you want to come?"
00:05:57.62\00:05:59.79
And I said, "Yes."
00:05:59.82\00:06:01.16
And so the paper
work was done all the way
00:06:01.19\00:06:03.53
through Saturday night online.
00:06:03.56\00:06:07.93
And I don't know that I
finished quite all of it.
00:06:07.96\00:06:10.47
But I was on a plane
Sunday and came to Weimar.
00:06:10.50\00:06:15.44
And then later, we talked.
00:06:15.47\00:06:18.41
And I said, "Well, Jim, if
you're gonna have an event,
00:06:18.44\00:06:21.34
it would more than likely have,
00:06:21.38\00:06:23.61
had happened on the airplane.
00:06:23.65\00:06:25.41
Dr. Gallant said that too.
00:06:25.45\00:06:27.52
I've heard that
from a couple of people.
00:06:27.55\00:06:29.82
I'm kind of glad
you didn't tell me that
00:06:29.85\00:06:31.75
while I was
getting on the plane.
00:06:31.79\00:06:33.76
All right. So here you are.
00:06:33.79\00:06:35.12
You are at the NEWSTART program.
00:06:35.16\00:06:36.73
Let's talk about
what has happened
00:06:36.76\00:06:39.49
and I want to rush
through this 'cause
00:06:39.53\00:06:41.56
we don't have a lot of time.
00:06:41.60\00:06:43.10
I want to go back
just to set the stage.
00:06:43.13\00:06:45.73
My pastor had advised
me that this would not work
00:06:45.77\00:06:51.37
without a 100
percent commitment.
00:06:51.41\00:06:54.04
And that was, he asked me
just where are you on that
00:06:54.08\00:06:57.75
and I took it as
my commitment with God
00:06:57.78\00:07:00.98
and I said, 75, 25.
00:07:01.02\00:07:07.12
I knew was doing some things.
00:07:07.16\00:07:09.32
My behavior was wrong
00:07:09.36\00:07:10.93
and I knew I wasn't right
00:07:10.96\00:07:14.73
with doing that behavior
00:07:14.76\00:07:16.70
and when I came to
NEWSTART and to Weimar on,
00:07:16.73\00:07:22.64
I believe it was Monday morning,
00:07:22.67\00:07:24.67
the first day of the program.
00:07:24.71\00:07:26.17
I had not met anybody
00:07:26.21\00:07:27.58
and participated in any events
of the program or lectures
00:07:27.61\00:07:33.08
but the Holy Spirit just led me
00:07:33.11\00:07:36.62
to pray a prayer
of total commitment.
00:07:36.65\00:07:39.75
I asked God to just come
into my life and take over,
00:07:39.79\00:07:43.02
that I couldn't do it.
00:07:43.06\00:07:45.03
So Jim, let's talk
about your experience here.
00:07:45.06\00:07:48.63
You came here, you
had high cholesterol,
00:07:48.66\00:07:51.30
you had blood
pressure, you had diabetes,
00:07:51.33\00:07:54.17
you were morbidly
obese, what has happened.
00:07:54.20\00:07:58.04
Tell us real
quick what happened.
00:07:58.07\00:08:00.58
Well, the program, of course,
00:08:00.61\00:08:04.05
is the program of
changing your diet
00:08:04.08\00:08:08.35
and what foods
and what you drinking,
00:08:08.38\00:08:10.72
and what you're eating,
what you shouldn't be drinking,
00:08:10.75\00:08:12.79
and what you shouldn't eat.
00:08:12.82\00:08:15.66
The emphasis,
however, is given to exercise.
00:08:15.69\00:08:18.39
I wasn't exercising.
00:08:18.43\00:08:20.23
So now you are exercising? Yes.
00:08:20.26\00:08:21.70
I was coming home
00:08:21.73\00:08:23.06
and sitting down
in the easy chair.
00:08:23.10\00:08:24.83
And watching television
and I wasn't exercising.
00:08:24.87\00:08:28.30
And so I started exercising.
00:08:28.34\00:08:31.21
I started losing weight
and I've been eating healthy,
00:08:31.24\00:08:36.48
vegetables and fruits and nuts
00:08:36.51\00:08:38.41
and discovered that
fruits are delicious.
00:08:38.45\00:08:41.82
I didn't used to eat fruits.
00:08:41.85\00:08:43.18
I was afraid it would
affect my blood sugar.
00:08:43.22\00:08:44.75
So tell me, do you
have diabetes today?
00:08:44.79\00:08:48.22
Well, I would
call it in remission.
00:08:48.26\00:08:50.26
I think the doctors would say
00:08:50.29\00:08:51.63
that once you have
diabetes, you always do.
00:08:51.66\00:08:53.60
Well, that's like being an
alcoholic that don't drink.
00:08:53.63\00:08:56.40
So you are
diabetic without diabetes.
00:08:56.43\00:08:58.60
My blood sugar
levels are normal.
00:08:58.63\00:09:01.74
Yes.
00:09:01.77\00:09:03.10
And I am off of all
of my diabetes medicines.
00:09:03.14\00:09:05.27
What about your
high blood pressure.
00:09:05.31\00:09:06.94
Do you have high blood pressure?
00:09:06.98\00:09:08.61
Yes. I took
several pills for that.
00:09:08.64\00:09:11.78
And I am in the normal
range of my blood pressure
00:09:11.81\00:09:15.48
and I'm completely off of all
of my blood pressure medicine.
00:09:15.52\00:09:18.49
I came into NEWSTART with
ten prescription medicines.
00:09:18.52\00:09:22.96
Okay.
00:09:22.99\00:09:24.33
And I don't take
any of them today.
00:09:24.36\00:09:27.20
Praise God.
00:09:27.23\00:09:28.56
So you got rid of diabetes,
00:09:28.60\00:09:29.93
you got rid of
high blood pressure,
00:09:29.96\00:09:31.70
how much weight have you lost?
00:09:31.73\00:09:33.44
About eight pounds.
00:09:33.47\00:09:34.80
You lost eight pounds but
you gained how much muscle?
00:09:34.84\00:09:37.14
Well, a lot.
00:09:37.17\00:09:38.51
I have lost
inches once I plateaued
00:09:38.54\00:09:42.08
with the weight
down eight pounds,
00:09:42.11\00:09:44.38
since then I've lost inches.
00:09:44.41\00:09:45.85
So it's my understanding
the fat has turned to muscle.
00:09:46.11\00:09:49.25
Amen.
00:09:49.28\00:09:50.62
So your doctors, Dr. Gallant,
00:09:50.65\00:09:53.32
we're gonna see him here
00:09:53.36\00:09:54.69
in a little while
doing an interview
00:09:54.72\00:09:56.42
and talk about this
process that you went through.
00:09:56.46\00:09:59.83
Now you're a guy
00:09:59.86\00:10:01.20
that was supposed to
have a open heart surgery.
00:10:01.23\00:10:04.03
You've opted not to
have open heart surgery.
00:10:04.07\00:10:07.10
And you're doing
a lifestyle change
00:10:07.14\00:10:09.34
that's gonna
clean out your arteries,
00:10:09.37\00:10:11.47
get you healthy
00:10:11.51\00:10:12.84
and like you are 25
years old again, right?
00:10:12.87\00:10:17.71
I'll take 28.
00:10:17.75\00:10:19.48
You'll take 28.
00:10:19.51\00:10:21.32
Is there anything else you want
to add that's happened here?
00:10:21.35\00:10:23.75
Well, it's a great ministry.
00:10:23.79\00:10:25.55
And a lot of people do
not know the health message
00:10:25.59\00:10:30.29
which is taught here.
00:10:30.33\00:10:32.46
And if I can help in a
ministry that does that
00:10:32.49\00:10:37.33
then I believe that's
what God wants me to do.
00:10:37.37\00:10:39.60
Amen.
00:10:39.63\00:10:40.97
It's a pleasure to have
a passion to serve others
00:10:41.00\00:10:43.77
and God has given me that.
00:10:43.81\00:10:45.14
Amen.
00:10:45.17\00:10:46.51
I want to thank you
for coming to our studio.
00:10:46.54\00:10:48.71
You got a wonderful story.
00:10:48.74\00:10:50.35
I'm gonna be
following up on you.
00:10:50.38\00:10:52.45
And friends, don't go away
00:10:52.48\00:10:53.98
'cause Dr. Gallant
will be right with us.
00:10:54.02\00:10:56.92
Welcome back, friends.
00:11:30.79\00:11:32.12
And as I
promised, Dr. Roger Gallant.
00:11:32.15\00:11:35.26
I'd like the viewers to know
00:11:35.29\00:11:36.73
that you are our director
here at the NEWSTART program.
00:11:36.76\00:11:40.56
That's correct, Ron.
00:11:40.60\00:11:41.93
And I want to get
right into talking about Jim
00:11:41.96\00:11:45.07
'cause it's such an
amazing wonderful story.
00:11:45.10\00:11:49.04
He's already told us as you know
00:11:49.07\00:11:51.64
how this all happened.
00:11:51.67\00:11:54.11
But tell us from
your perspective after,
00:11:54.14\00:11:57.85
I think I called
you and asked you,
00:11:57.88\00:12:00.18
would you call him.
00:12:00.22\00:12:01.55
That's right. He called me.
00:12:01.58\00:12:03.49
It was the Friday afternoon
before the session started.
00:12:03.52\00:12:06.35
Yeah. And we didn't have any--
00:12:06.39\00:12:07.79
and by the way we
didn't have any room.
00:12:07.82\00:12:09.39
Right. Exactly, exactly.
00:12:09.42\00:12:11.93
You asked me to call him.
00:12:11.96\00:12:13.36
We had a great conversation
00:12:13.40\00:12:15.50
and he told me what
his doctors had told him
00:12:15.53\00:12:19.00
and he'd told me that
he'd gone to visit his pastor
00:12:19.03\00:12:22.74
and his pastor is
the one who had said,
00:12:22.77\00:12:25.47
"Have you thought about Weimar,
00:12:25.51\00:12:26.84
have you
thought about NEWSTART?"
00:12:26.88\00:12:28.41
And so we had a talk
and I explained to him
00:12:28.44\00:12:31.25
what we do here versus
what his other option was,
00:12:31.28\00:12:34.42
which was surgery.
00:12:34.45\00:12:35.88
And he was very open
to doing lifestyle change.
00:12:35.92\00:12:40.52
And I'm so excited that he did.
00:12:40.56\00:12:42.39
You know, it amazes me
00:12:42.42\00:12:45.66
that he was
willing to take this risk.
00:12:45.69\00:12:49.20
You know when I talked
to him, when I saw him,
00:12:49.23\00:12:51.20
you saw him when he got here.
00:12:51.23\00:12:52.57
I wish we could
had him on camera then
00:12:52.60\00:12:55.00
'cause he was just like, oh, no,
00:12:55.04\00:12:57.34
what's gonna happen. Right.
00:12:57.37\00:12:59.14
And after he got here, I said,
00:12:59.17\00:13:00.51
"You know, if you
were gonna have an event,
00:13:00.54\00:13:02.91
it would have
happened on that plane."
00:13:02.94\00:13:05.28
He says, I wish he...
00:13:05.31\00:13:06.65
"I'm glad you didn't
tell me that before I came."
00:13:06.68\00:13:09.45
But tell us
00:13:09.48\00:13:11.45
what kind of risk do people have
00:13:11.49\00:13:14.32
by doing a lifestyle change
00:13:14.36\00:13:18.39
opposed to
going under the knife.
00:13:18.43\00:13:20.66
What's the ratio or is there,
do you have any statistics?
00:13:20.70\00:13:24.47
Well, what I told him
00:13:24.50\00:13:25.83
when we talked was
that this is a risk
00:13:25.87\00:13:29.64
but every day is
a risk, you know.
00:13:29.67\00:13:32.21
He knows he has disease
so he has the risk every day.
00:13:32.24\00:13:36.24
But I told him that
what we are doing here
00:13:36.28\00:13:39.08
puts your body in
the best condition.
00:13:39.11\00:13:41.72
If you put your body
in the best condition,
00:13:41.75\00:13:44.05
then you're body
is gonna start to heal
00:13:44.09\00:13:47.36
diseases that are present
which includes heart disease.
00:13:47.39\00:13:50.86
So I explained to
him that by being here,
00:13:50.89\00:13:54.53
it's different than
going under the knife.
00:13:54.56\00:13:56.93
But I believe by God's grace,
00:13:56.97\00:13:59.43
it is a way to fix
this heart disease forever.
00:13:59.47\00:14:03.51
Having a bypass
surgery only opens flow
00:14:03.54\00:14:06.88
but if you don't
change your lifestyle,
00:14:06.91\00:14:09.54
it can come back.
00:14:09.58\00:14:10.91
That's it.
00:14:10.95\00:14:12.28
And this is why
we're hear people
00:14:12.31\00:14:14.12
who've had stents put in
00:14:14.15\00:14:15.98
and open heart surgery
00:14:16.02\00:14:17.65
that they had to go
back and have it redone.
00:14:17.69\00:14:19.39
Right, right.
00:14:19.42\00:14:20.76
Because and I hope the
viewers are getting this.
00:14:20.79\00:14:23.49
Because they didn't
change their lifestyle.
00:14:23.53\00:14:26.36
That's right. Praise God.
00:14:26.39\00:14:28.16
God created our bodies
to heal and repair them
00:14:28.20\00:14:32.23
when we put them in
the right condition.
00:14:32.27\00:14:34.67
And I believe what
we're teaching here
00:14:34.70\00:14:36.60
is teaching God's plan
00:14:36.64\00:14:38.57
to put your body in
the right condition.
00:14:38.61\00:14:40.84
Amen.
00:14:40.88\00:14:42.68
Well, you know, you said
when he did the treadmill test,
00:14:42.71\00:14:46.82
'cause we do two
treadmills, right?
00:14:46.85\00:14:48.58
That's correct.
00:14:48.62\00:14:49.95
When he did the first one,
00:14:49.98\00:14:51.32
you noticed a little
something wasn't quite closer.
00:14:51.35\00:14:53.82
Well, we expected
to see some changes
00:14:53.86\00:14:56.16
because we know
he has heart disease.
00:14:56.19\00:14:58.06
And sure enough we did.
00:14:58.09\00:14:59.59
He had a lot of
irregular heartbeats
00:14:59.63\00:15:02.00
and he had some changes
consistent with blockages.
00:15:02.03\00:15:07.07
We did a repeat
treadmill two weeks later.
00:15:07.10\00:15:11.94
And that treadmill shows
improvement over his first one.
00:15:11.97\00:15:16.85
Wow. Is it significant, though?
00:15:16.88\00:15:18.35
It is significant.
00:15:18.38\00:15:19.71
In two weeks he's
starting to reverse the disease
00:15:19.75\00:15:23.59
that he's had for
who knows how long.
00:15:23.62\00:15:25.32
It could be 60 years. Yeah.
00:15:25.35\00:15:28.42
You know what I told him? No.
00:15:28.46\00:15:29.96
I told him that
God has performed
00:15:29.99\00:15:32.76
a woundless
cardiac surgery on him.
00:15:32.79\00:15:35.26
Amen.
00:15:35.30\00:15:36.63
And what a blessing.
00:15:36.67\00:15:38.00
What a blessing. Yeah.
00:15:38.03\00:15:39.37
I was kind of
envious 'cause as you know
00:15:39.40\00:15:41.34
and I told you before
we went on the program
00:15:41.37\00:15:44.17
that I went in and had
the open heart surgery.
00:15:44.21\00:15:46.98
I wish I didn't.
00:15:47.01\00:15:48.74
But nonetheless I did.
00:15:48.78\00:15:50.61
And then it
started to reverse again
00:15:50.65\00:15:52.81
and I started to get
clogged up so I went,
00:15:52.85\00:15:55.35
I did what you're saying.
00:15:55.38\00:15:56.72
I came here. Yes.
00:15:56.75\00:15:58.79
That was ten years
ago this month by the way.
00:15:58.82\00:16:00.86
Wow. I can't believe that.
00:16:00.89\00:16:03.09
Let me tell you one
other thing about Jim
00:16:03.12\00:16:04.96
that really struck me.
00:16:04.99\00:16:07.40
Jim was one of the
first people in this group
00:16:07.43\00:16:10.10
who got the concept
00:16:10.13\00:16:12.23
that you have to
turn over your will to God
00:16:12.27\00:16:16.87
and allow His will to
live out in your life.
00:16:16.91\00:16:19.67
Yes.
00:16:19.71\00:16:21.04
Once you do that,
00:16:21.08\00:16:22.41
everything else
starts to fall into place.
00:16:22.44\00:16:24.38
Well, Jesus
taught us how to do that.
00:16:24.41\00:16:25.95
Amen.
00:16:25.98\00:16:27.32
He used to pray
and I love this part.
00:16:27.35\00:16:29.12
Can I say this? Please do.
00:16:29.15\00:16:31.62
He used to pray to His
Father sometimes all night
00:16:31.65\00:16:35.39
and that was so
His will would be done.
00:16:35.42\00:16:37.69
That's right.
00:16:37.73\00:16:39.06
And He followed
His Father's will
00:16:39.09\00:16:41.06
and miracles happened.
00:16:41.10\00:16:43.40
And you know, doctor,
00:16:43.43\00:16:44.83
I view what
happened to Jim is a miracle.
00:16:44.87\00:16:47.34
I do too.
00:16:47.37\00:16:48.70
And I see them happen
with other people here.
00:16:48.74\00:16:51.51
Absolutely. I agree.
00:16:51.54\00:16:52.97
We have a young man,
00:16:53.01\00:16:54.34
we're gonna interview after you.
00:16:54.38\00:16:55.71
His name is Dan.
00:16:55.74\00:16:57.55
Dan is another miracle. Amen.
00:16:57.58\00:16:59.61
And we have so many.
00:16:59.65\00:17:00.98
We have 25 people
here in this session
00:17:01.02\00:17:04.25
and we have seen miracle
after miracle after miracle.
00:17:04.29\00:17:07.36
Yes.
00:17:07.39\00:17:08.72
Here's what
happens to me though.
00:17:08.76\00:17:10.26
I see it so frequently,
00:17:10.29\00:17:11.73
all of a sudden it becomes like
00:17:11.76\00:17:14.36
oh, well, just
another miracle. No.
00:17:14.40\00:17:16.97
Slap me when I say
that. That's right. No.
00:17:17.00\00:17:19.20
It can't be
that. It can't be that.
00:17:19.23\00:17:20.84
No. Absolutely.
00:17:20.87\00:17:22.34
God is working
00:17:22.37\00:17:23.71
and it's just
such a rich blessing.
00:17:23.74\00:17:25.41
Now God has
given you the knowledge
00:17:25.44\00:17:31.61
through your
education to treat people.
00:17:31.65\00:17:36.12
Tell us what kind of treatments
00:17:36.15\00:17:38.09
do doctors do with
guests when they come here.
00:17:38.12\00:17:42.29
There's no
invasive procedures, I know.
00:17:42.32\00:17:45.79
There's no invasive procedures.
00:17:45.83\00:17:47.40
We basically teach them
about God's plan for health.
00:17:47.43\00:17:51.43
It involves eight simple laws
00:17:51.47\00:17:53.64
and when you
practice them every day,
00:17:53.67\00:17:55.54
it puts your body
in the right condition
00:17:55.57\00:17:58.11
so that your body
will start to heal
00:17:58.14\00:18:00.01
and repair
itself by God's grace.
00:18:00.04\00:18:03.01
Isn't that amazing
00:18:03.04\00:18:04.55
how these bodies
were made in such a way
00:18:04.58\00:18:08.35
that if you just
give it the right foods,
00:18:08.38\00:18:10.42
it knows what to do with them.
00:18:10.45\00:18:11.79
Yes.
00:18:11.82\00:18:13.15
You don't have to coach it. No.
00:18:13.19\00:18:14.52
You don't need a computer
and you had to program it
00:18:14.56\00:18:16.32
to do certain things because...
00:18:16.36\00:18:17.73
It's preprogrammed.
00:18:17.76\00:18:19.09
Preprogrammed. I love it.
00:18:19.13\00:18:20.56
Yeah. Absolutely, absolutely.
00:18:20.60\00:18:23.00
We are "fearfully
and wonderfully made."
00:18:23.03\00:18:24.63
And we praise
God for that. Amen.
00:18:24.67\00:18:27.64
What can we tell
people who are watching now.
00:18:27.67\00:18:29.90
There's a lot
of people out there
00:18:29.94\00:18:31.67
who have high
blood pressure, you know,
00:18:31.71\00:18:34.84
let's stick to cardio stuff.
00:18:34.88\00:18:36.54
Sure.
00:18:36.58\00:18:37.91
What can we
tell these folks that
00:18:37.95\00:18:39.51
are fearful that they may die,
00:18:39.55\00:18:42.12
they might have be could--
from a stroke or heart attack.
00:18:42.15\00:18:45.05
What would you say?
00:18:45.09\00:18:46.42
What I would say to you is this.
00:18:46.45\00:18:47.79
There are very
simple lifestyle choices
00:18:47.82\00:18:49.42
that you can make
that help to heal your body
00:18:49.46\00:18:52.59
and when you heal your body,
00:18:52.63\00:18:54.56
you will start to
reverse these disease processes.
00:18:54.60\00:18:58.37
And by God's grace I
believe that you can be healthy.
00:18:58.40\00:19:01.50
But here is pone other thing
I want to share with people.
00:19:01.54\00:19:03.47
I believe that as
you gain that health,
00:19:03.51\00:19:06.11
you need to share it with others
00:19:06.14\00:19:07.84
and you need to do
something to serve God.
00:19:07.88\00:19:09.98
Amen.
00:19:10.01\00:19:11.35
When you do that,
00:19:11.38\00:19:12.71
God will continue
you in your health
00:19:12.75\00:19:14.28
because you are working for Him
00:19:14.32\00:19:16.38
and I think
that's a rich blessing.
00:19:16.42\00:19:18.85
Now you're talking like a
preacher now, not a doctor.
00:19:18.89\00:19:22.69
Are you sure we got the
right guy in this set here.
00:19:22.72\00:19:25.39
That's so wonderful to
hear you saying these thing
00:19:25.43\00:19:28.90
because you know when I
used to go to my cardiologist,
00:19:28.93\00:19:32.57
I used to spend about two
or three minutes, you know.
00:19:32.60\00:19:34.90
There wasn't much,
00:19:34.94\00:19:36.27
there was no conversation
like we're talking here.
00:19:36.30\00:19:39.04
And I think that
these laws of health
00:19:39.07\00:19:43.08
that you are speaking about,
00:19:43.11\00:19:44.45
this eight
principles, if you will,
00:19:44.48\00:19:47.15
the last one being
trusting in the divine power.
00:19:47.18\00:19:49.75
Amen.
00:19:49.78\00:19:51.12
And I'm hearing more
of that than anything else
00:19:51.15\00:19:53.56
rather than mentioning the food,
00:19:53.59\00:19:55.62
exercise but they are
an important component.
00:19:55.66\00:19:59.16
Absolutely, absolutely.
00:19:59.19\00:20:00.76
And can we, can we
expect to be healed
00:20:00.80\00:20:04.97
if we follow these principles?
00:20:05.00\00:20:06.77
Absolutely.
00:20:06.80\00:20:08.14
I told Jim that his exercise
has now become his medicine.
00:20:08.17\00:20:12.67
He's healthier
today than when he came
00:20:12.71\00:20:14.98
and he's off of
most of his medicines.
00:20:15.01\00:20:17.75
Isn't that amazing?
00:20:17.78\00:20:19.11
He told that he
was off all of them.
00:20:19.15\00:20:21.55
I think he's only
taking aspirin still
00:20:21.58\00:20:23.02
for a little while longer.
00:20:23.05\00:20:24.45
Well, I don't consider
that as medicine or is it?
00:20:24.49\00:20:27.59
It is
technically but that's okay.
00:20:27.62\00:20:29.99
But now he is doing very well
and it's by the grace of God.
00:20:30.03\00:20:33.63
Yeah.
00:20:33.66\00:20:35.00
Doc, I want to
thank you for joining us.
00:20:35.03\00:20:37.23
It's always a pleasure
to talk to you, a godly man.
00:20:37.27\00:20:39.93
Thank you for having me, Ron.
00:20:39.97\00:20:41.30
Thank you for being
here and taking the position
00:20:41.34\00:20:43.94
that you have here
at the NEWSTART program.
00:20:43.97\00:20:46.78
Friends, don't go
away. We have a tip for you.
00:20:46.81\00:20:49.64
I'm Michelle Irwin.
00:20:53.45\00:20:54.78
Your NEWSTART
cooking instructor.
00:20:54.82\00:20:56.22
I'm gonna teach you how to make
00:20:56.25\00:20:57.59
an amazing vegan
truffle that's so easy,
00:20:57.62\00:21:00.76
you literally can do
it in about five minutes.
00:21:00.79\00:21:03.96
Let's talk about the
equipment you'll need.
00:21:03.99\00:21:06.06
You'll need either a bowl
and a spoon to stir by hand
00:21:06.09\00:21:09.46
or if you want to do it faster,
00:21:09.50\00:21:10.87
you could use
our food processor.
00:21:10.90\00:21:13.50
The ingredients for this recipe,
00:21:13.54\00:21:14.87
you'll need your
favorite nut butter.
00:21:14.90\00:21:16.81
I love roasted cashew butter,
almond butter is awesome.
00:21:16.84\00:21:21.38
You can use any one of
those and you'll need, you know,
00:21:21.41\00:21:24.38
I like the roasted variety.
00:21:24.41\00:21:25.75
But raw would be good as well.
00:21:25.78\00:21:27.68
Well, we are
using some coconut flour
00:21:27.72\00:21:29.62
and this is a
really great product to use
00:21:29.65\00:21:32.65
because all of the fat
00:21:32.69\00:21:34.16
has been pretty much
taken out of the coconut
00:21:34.19\00:21:36.52
and what you're left
with is this awesome flour.
00:21:36.56\00:21:38.83
And it can be used
sometimes one to one
00:21:38.86\00:21:41.03
for different wheat flours
00:21:41.06\00:21:43.37
and other recipes you
may need to add more liquid
00:21:43.40\00:21:45.70
because it does absorb
liquid quite considerably.
00:21:45.73\00:21:50.97
And then I'll be using
some grade B maple syrup
00:21:51.01\00:21:53.91
which is a really
nice maple flavor.
00:21:53.94\00:21:56.58
The difference between grade
A and grade B is pretty much,
00:21:56.61\00:22:00.35
basically the flavor is
richer with the grade B.
00:22:00.38\00:22:03.49
And a few little
pinches of my sea salt
00:22:03.52\00:22:06.39
which is Himalayan sea salt.
00:22:06.42\00:22:07.76
It really brings out
the sweetness in this recipe
00:22:07.79\00:22:10.59
and then I'm gonna decorate
them with some fun ideas.
00:22:10.63\00:22:12.96
You can use some toasted
coconut, unsweetened coconut.
00:22:12.99\00:22:16.56
I'm gonna be using
some raw carob powder
00:22:16.60\00:22:18.53
and then your favorite nuts.
00:22:18.57\00:22:19.90
These are some
corns. You could toast them.
00:22:19.93\00:22:23.17
Oh, really, just
have fun this recipe.
00:22:23.20\00:22:26.01
Okay. So let's get started.
00:22:26.04\00:22:27.38
I'm gonna go ahead and
I'm gonna add my nut butter
00:22:27.41\00:22:31.85
to the food processor.
00:22:31.88\00:22:35.25
Okay.
00:22:35.28\00:22:36.62
And be sure to
stir it really well
00:22:36.65\00:22:38.75
because
sometimes these nut butters
00:22:38.79\00:22:42.26
have some oil
residue on the top.
00:22:42.29\00:22:45.33
And if you don't stir it,
00:22:45.36\00:22:46.70
it can get kind
of hard to deal with.
00:22:46.73\00:22:49.13
So would just like
to give it a good stir.
00:22:49.16\00:22:51.37
Another tip is
before you open it,
00:22:51.40\00:22:53.30
just tip it upside down
00:22:53.34\00:22:54.74
and that will help to distribute
00:22:54.77\00:22:56.10
the oil accordingly.
00:22:56.14\00:22:58.41
So I'm gonna just
go ahead and add this.
00:22:58.71\00:23:00.74
And we at NEWSTART
here, we don't use few oils
00:23:03.98\00:23:07.52
but we will use oils
that are naturally present
00:23:07.55\00:23:10.09
in nuts and seeds
and avocados and olives.
00:23:10.12\00:23:13.52
So this is a really
great decadent use of it.
00:23:13.56\00:23:18.23
So now I'm gonna go
ahead and add my coconut flour,
00:23:18.26\00:23:21.30
well, actually
before we do that,
00:23:21.33\00:23:23.03
I want to go ahead and
I want to turn this almond
00:23:23.06\00:23:26.03
for almond butter or
even your cashew butter
00:23:26.07\00:23:28.87
and get it really nice and thick
00:23:28.90\00:23:30.97
and the way to do
that is to use maple syrup.
00:23:31.01\00:23:34.28
At first, it will thin it our
00:23:34.31\00:23:35.78
but after you stir for a
while, it starts to thicken.
00:23:35.81\00:23:38.51
It's a really cool property
00:23:38.55\00:23:41.75
that maple syrup has
with the different nut butter.
00:23:41.78\00:23:44.29
So we're go gonna go
ahead and turn this on.
00:23:44.32\00:23:45.65
Okay. That looks really good.
00:23:59.50\00:24:01.40
And now I'm gonna go ahead
00:24:01.44\00:24:02.77
and add just a few
pinches of salt to this,
00:24:02.80\00:24:05.04
just till bring our
the natural sweetness.
00:24:05.07\00:24:08.78
And then we will go ahead
00:24:08.81\00:24:10.15
and we will add
our coconut flour.
00:24:10.18\00:24:11.85
And depending on,
00:24:11.88\00:24:13.21
you're gonna kind of
play with this recipe.
00:24:13.25\00:24:15.32
Depending if it's too
thin or if it is too thick,
00:24:15.35\00:24:18.32
you can always
add more maple syrup
00:24:18.35\00:24:20.12
if it's too thick or add
more of the coconut flour to--
00:24:20.16\00:24:23.49
if it's too thin.
00:24:23.53\00:24:26.03
Okay.
00:24:26.06\00:24:27.93
And then we're
just gonna go ahead
00:24:27.96\00:24:29.30
and process this again.
00:24:29.33\00:24:30.77
All right.
00:24:43.61\00:24:44.95
So you can see that
the consistency right now
00:24:44.98\00:24:46.98
is really the-- the best way
00:24:47.02\00:24:48.92
to describe this is
like the filling you know,
00:24:48.95\00:24:51.89
those forbidden candies
that have the peanut butter
00:24:51.92\00:24:54.89
and the
chocolate on the outside.
00:24:54.92\00:24:56.26
This is just like that inside
but it's a healthy version.
00:24:56.29\00:24:59.93
And I'm almost there.
00:24:59.96\00:25:01.30
I want to add a little
bit more of coconut flour,
00:25:01.33\00:25:03.40
just because I want
this to really bind well.
00:25:03.43\00:25:06.70
Okay.
00:25:19.58\00:25:20.92
And it's gonna resemble
00:25:20.95\00:25:22.28
almost like a
sand like consistency
00:25:22.32\00:25:24.85
and that gives
us a lot of ability
00:25:24.89\00:25:26.76
to shape these into
our beautiful truffle.
00:25:26.79\00:25:29.49
So we are there.
00:25:29.52\00:25:30.86
Another tip that you can do
is you can roll these truffles,
00:25:30.89\00:25:33.80
put them in the
freezer to get them hardened
00:25:33.83\00:25:36.43
and then they are
really nice to chilled as well.
00:25:36.46\00:25:41.14
But I'm gonna just
work with them right now
00:25:41.17\00:25:42.74
straight out of here
00:25:42.77\00:25:45.01
and I'll give you
a couple of examples
00:25:45.04\00:25:46.71
of how to work with these.
00:25:46.74\00:25:48.91
So just kind of
stir them up a little bit
00:25:48.94\00:25:51.41
and then you can
take a ice cream scoop
00:25:51.45\00:25:53.58
and that way, they'll
always be the same size
00:25:53.62\00:25:55.32
and consistency
and then just go ahead
00:25:55.35\00:25:57.65
and get right in
there and roll them up.
00:25:57.69\00:26:03.73
You can make a
little squares with them
00:26:03.76\00:26:06.03
or anything that you like
00:26:06.06\00:26:07.80
and these are gonna
be really hand crafted.
00:26:07.83\00:26:09.86
So now what I'm gonna do is
00:26:09.90\00:26:11.23
just dip them in
my favorite toppings.
00:26:11.27\00:26:15.24
You can just
really push those in.
00:26:15.27\00:26:16.77
If you find that your topping
doesn't stick like you'd like,
00:26:16.81\00:26:20.04
just add a little bit of
maple syrup to your hands
00:26:20.08\00:26:23.08
and then kind of
coat your truffle with it
00:26:23.11\00:26:27.42
and then it will stick
really nice and then it almost,
00:26:27.45\00:26:30.95
when you put in the freezer,
00:26:30.99\00:26:32.32
it kind of hardens like a candy.
00:26:32.35\00:26:33.69
So that's kind of
fun. And there you go.
00:26:33.72\00:26:36.06
And so you could do your
different carob with that,
00:26:36.09\00:26:38.69
you can add your favorite
nuts and here are some examples
00:26:38.73\00:26:42.23
of our lovely truffles
00:26:42.26\00:26:43.97
that are really
fun to take with you
00:26:44.00\00:26:45.87
to any party and you know,
they are just like one size.
00:26:45.90\00:26:48.60
It's not, you can have a
little bit and not feel good,
00:26:48.64\00:26:51.11
you don't have a
big piece of cake,
00:26:51.14\00:26:52.47
just one of these little
guys and you should feel happy
00:26:52.51\00:26:57.98
about having your
sweets and not feeling guilty.
00:26:58.01\00:27:00.38
Thank you.
00:27:00.42\00:27:01.78
