I love our interviews together! 00:11:22.21\00:11:26.24 It's always great to be with you Ron. 00:11:26.25\00:11:27.69 And you'll just have to bombard me with the questions 00:11:27.70\00:11:29.87 in abstentia for the audience, right? 00:11:29.88\00:11:32.39 Sounds good. 00:11:32.40\00:11:33.66 Let's start off with Angelina. 00:11:33.67\00:11:36.06 She came to us with in my mind some serious problems. 00:11:36.30\00:11:41.06 And we've seen some change in her in just 2 weeks. 00:11:41.12\00:11:44.84 It's always dramatic what happens in the NEWSTART program 00:11:45.06\00:11:47.87 when people get on the kind of 00:11:47.88\00:11:49.42 lifestyle that God designed for us to be on 00:11:49.43\00:11:51.72 We often see really tremendous results 00:11:51.78\00:11:54.21 and Angelina is just another example. 00:11:54.22\00:11:56.12 And a perfect example at that. 00:11:56.57\00:11:58.81 She was a little nervous during her interview as you could see. 00:11:59.06\00:12:02.30 And rightfully so we've got 00:12:02.57\00:12:04.30 the cameras and the bright lights 00:12:04.31\00:12:05.69 and such and she wasn't sure 00:12:05.70\00:12:07.57 about the questions I was going to ask. 00:12:07.75\00:12:09.66 But you heard what I asked her and 00:12:09.67\00:12:12.15 basically she's very pleased with the results. 00:12:12.16\00:12:16.21 But from a physician's point of view, 00:12:16.51\00:12:18.87 from your point of view, tell us what you saw happen here. 00:12:19.06\00:12:22.48 Well probably one of the most 00:12:22.49\00:12:23.48 exciting things has to do with diabetes 00:12:23.49\00:12:25.75 and Angelina like literally millions of Americans 00:12:26.06\00:12:29.63 was struggling with diabetes when she came here. 00:12:29.72\00:12:32.39 The common story that we hear from people Ron, 00:12:32.51\00:12:35.06 is more and more drugs. 00:12:35.07\00:12:36.27 The doctors just keep putting them on more things. 00:12:36.28\00:12:38.51 You heard Angelina. She shared that she came 00:12:38.81\00:12:41.06 here on two different medications for her diabetes. 00:12:41.07\00:12:43.69 What's remarkable is when you 00:12:44.24\00:12:45.75 look at her today, just 2 weeks later 00:12:45.76\00:12:48.06 she's off those drugs, 00:12:48.24\00:12:49.54 her blood sugars are significantly better 00:12:49.57\00:12:51.84 off the medications with the lifestyle changes 00:12:51.87\00:12:55.15 than they were when she was taking both drugs. 00:12:55.24\00:12:58.09 Yeah, so it's powerful. 00:12:58.24\00:12:59.42 One of the things that we did in Angelina's case 00:12:59.43\00:13:02.24 that a lot of doctors are 00:13:02.25\00:13:03.45 totally unaware of the power of is fasting. 00:13:03.46\00:13:06.54 So Angelina actually did a 00:13:06.75\00:13:08.39 medically supervised fast for several days 00:13:08.40\00:13:10.84 at the beginning of the program. 00:13:10.87\00:13:12.39 And this can be extremely powerful in 00:13:12.45\00:13:14.36 getting blood sugars back into line. 00:13:14.37\00:13:16.36 Wow, you know I haven't seen fasting as much 00:13:16.54\00:13:20.06 in years past as I'm currently seeing. 00:13:20.36\00:13:23.06 But I'm sure there's a lot of things 00:13:23.24\00:13:25.60 that you can bring to the table to help diabetics. 00:13:26.33\00:13:29.30 So, in regard to her changes 00:13:30.78\00:13:34.72 is it fair to say that it's typical? 00:13:35.06\00:13:38.42 Well, it's typical in the sense that 00:13:39.12\00:13:41.24 when people come here to the NEWSTART program 00:13:41.42\00:13:45.06 they're often on a poor lifestyle 00:13:45.09\00:13:47.06 and I'm not speaking about Angelina specifically 00:13:47.30\00:13:50.12 but in general people are not really on optimal program. 00:13:50.24\00:13:53.24 You heard her own admission that she was not walking. 00:13:53.25\00:13:56.06 I believe she herself a couch potato, right? 00:13:56.07\00:14:00.06 Right. 00:14:00.07\00:14:01.15 So, when a person comes here and you start 00:14:01.72\00:14:04.21 getting everything moving in the right direction 00:14:04.22\00:14:06.27 they don't have to learn how to cook on day one. 00:14:06.45\00:14:09.75 We start feeding them the best food for their condition 00:14:09.81\00:14:12.66 when they arrive, or they go on a short fast, 00:14:12.67\00:14:14.72 as was the case with Angelina. 00:14:14.73\00:14:16.39 And then you just start seeing things come together 00:14:16.66\00:14:19.51 they're getting off medications, they're feeling better 00:14:19.52\00:14:22.15 and instead of having a downward spiral 00:14:22.33\00:14:24.87 where one problem leads to something else 00:14:25.15\00:14:27.63 that complicates something else 00:14:27.64\00:14:29.51 you start getting things, compounded interest if you will, 00:14:29.78\00:14:33.30 in a beneficial direction 00:14:33.31\00:14:34.75 where improvements and exersize 00:14:35.18\00:14:37.21 allow you to improve the blood pressure, the diabetes, 00:14:37.33\00:14:40.36 the cholesterol, and that allows you 00:14:40.39\00:14:41.84 to decrease medications further. 00:14:41.85\00:14:43.72 And so when you get everything moving in the right direction 00:14:44.06\00:14:46.60 it's just extremely powerful 00:14:46.61\00:14:48.09 how God blesses these very simple things 00:14:48.18\00:14:50.66 that I like to remind people 00:14:50.84\00:14:52.51 are no more novel than the first couple chapters 00:14:52.57\00:14:54.87 of the book of Genesis. 00:14:54.88\00:14:56.09 That's true isn't it? 00:14:56.10\00:14:57.30 Tell us about fasting, is this something someone can do 00:14:58.12\00:15:02.45 in their own home? 00:15:02.66\00:15:03.72 Fasting in your own home is a dangerous proposition 00:15:04.30\00:15:08.06 especially if someone has diabetes or high blood pressure. 00:15:08.07\00:15:10.60 Because fasting is so powerful 00:15:10.75\00:15:13.21 it lowers the blood pressure and blood sugar. 00:15:13.22\00:15:15.09 If you don't have someone carefully monitoring you 00:15:15.10\00:15:17.63 and adjusting your medications 00:15:17.64\00:15:19.87 you can get into real serious problems. 00:15:19.88\00:15:21.75 Especially with the diuretics, the water pills, 00:15:21.78\00:15:24.72 and the blood sugar lowering pills. 00:15:24.78\00:15:26.51 So usually for a person has those kind of problems we say, 00:15:26.75\00:15:30.09 you want to be under a doctors direction. 00:15:30.21\00:15:32.45 And we're ideally set here 00:15:32.48\00:15:34.18 at the NEWSTART program to do that for people. 00:15:34.27\00:15:36.63 So, as they say, don't try this at home. 00:15:36.81\00:15:39.63 Yeah, typically if diabetes or 00:15:40.06\00:15:42.06 high blood pressure is the problem 00:15:42.07\00:15:43.45 you want to do it cautiously. 00:15:43.46\00:15:44.69 If you've got a doctor who says, 00:15:44.81\00:15:46.39 great go for it and makes some adjustments to your medications 00:15:46.40\00:15:49.78 that's acceptable. 00:15:50.39\00:15:51.57 But really the ideal setting for this is a controlled environment 00:15:52.12\00:15:56.27 like we have here. 00:15:56.28\00:15:57.30 Now what is it about fasting, 00:15:57.45\00:15:59.54 it's very intruging to me, I remember back 00:15:59.60\00:16:02.45 many years ago when I had done 00:16:02.69\00:16:05.15 certain types of fasts, water being one. 00:16:05.60\00:16:08.66 Brown rice was another. 00:16:08.75\00:16:10.36 And then carrot, beet, and celery were others. 00:16:11.18\00:16:14.06 What is it about these types of fasts, 00:16:14.75\00:16:16.87 is it the cleansing, 00:16:16.88\00:16:18.45 does it play a part in 00:16:18.66\00:16:22.48 eliminating toxins from the body? 00:16:22.51\00:16:24.54 What happens here? 00:16:24.66\00:16:25.66 Well probably the most powerful thing Ron 00:16:25.67\00:16:27.87 when it comes to diabetes, 00:16:27.88\00:16:29.39 because that's one of the things 00:16:29.40\00:16:30.45 we're talking about specifically, 00:16:30.46\00:16:32.06 is that high blood sugars in and of themselves 00:16:32.36\00:16:35.48 cause something in the body called glucotoxicity. 00:16:35.57\00:16:39.21 So it is a toxin, if you will, but the toxin is the high sugar. 00:16:39.42\00:16:43.06 Right. 00:16:43.07\00:16:44.06 And so when someone goes on a fast 00:16:44.07\00:16:46.15 this precipitously brings their blood sugar down 00:16:46.33\00:16:49.69 and what happens when the blood sugar is normalized 00:16:50.27\00:16:53.12 the pancreas starts to work better. 00:16:53.27\00:16:55.33 It produces insulin better. 00:16:55.36\00:16:56.78 And the tissues respond to insulin better. 00:16:57.06\00:17:00.36 Because this glucotoxicity 00:17:00.42\00:17:02.36 poisons the tissues it makes the 00:17:02.54\00:17:04.54 insulin resistance, so to speak, worse, 00:17:04.72\00:17:06.75 it causes insulin not to work so well. 00:17:06.76\00:17:08.60 And it also poisons the pancreas. 00:17:08.75\00:17:10.81 So the pancreas can't work as well. 00:17:10.84\00:17:12.30 So if we can get those blood sugars down very quickly 00:17:12.42\00:17:15.27 then everything just starts to work better. 00:17:15.60\00:17:17.66 So the whole natural program just works so much better 00:17:18.06\00:17:20.84 than if we kind of gradually eased into it. 00:17:20.87\00:17:23.45 Now you mentioned diabetes, 00:17:25.15\00:17:27.33 and how rampant it is in this country 00:17:27.36\00:17:29.51 How many diabetics are there in this country, 00:17:29.84\00:17:32.84 how many people will become diabetic who aren't currently, 00:17:33.36\00:17:37.63 and how many obese people do we have in this country? 00:17:38.27\00:17:41.75 Maybe you can answer those questions. 00:17:41.76\00:17:43.30 Yeah, 00:17:43.54\00:17:44.54 these statistics are like trying to hit a moving target. 00:17:44.78\00:17:47.24 But just to give you a 00:17:47.25\00:17:48.69 little idea of just how rapidly diabetes is escalating, 00:17:49.15\00:17:52.81 when I was doing diabetes lectures in the 1990's 00:17:53.21\00:17:56.51 the center for disease control 00:17:56.78\00:17:58.81 were telling us that we were 00:17:59.15\00:18:00.54 diagnosing about 800,000 people a year in the USA with diabetes. 00:18:00.75\00:18:05.72 In the early 1990's? 00:18:05.75\00:18:07.09 Yeah, in the 1990's. 00:18:07.15\00:18:09.09 Okay, today that figure is 1.6 million. 00:18:09.24\00:18:13.78 So it's doubled new cases every year. 00:18:14.09\00:18:16.72 So we've got a huge epidemic with diabetes. 00:18:17.18\00:18:20.09 And of course the biggest question for any individual 00:18:20.27\00:18:22.54 is not how many millions of people have it. 00:18:22.55\00:18:24.69 But whether they have it or not. 00:18:24.87\00:18:26.27 And I find a lot of people are 00:18:26.39\00:18:28.06 unaware of what their blood sugar is. 00:18:28.07\00:18:29.60 They just don't know. 00:18:29.61\00:18:30.60 They just don't know! 00:18:30.61\00:18:31.60 Why is this, they don't go to doctors? 00:18:31.63\00:18:33.63 Well Diabetes is what we often call a silent disease 00:18:33.64\00:18:37.09 at least early on. 00:18:37.10\00:18:38.39 You feel essentially normal, 00:18:38.48\00:18:40.33 maybe you're going to the bathroom a little bit more, 00:18:40.34\00:18:42.30 maybe you're a little bit more thirsty. 00:18:42.31\00:18:43.72 But unless the blood sugar is really out of whack 00:18:43.87\00:18:46.15 you probably feel pretty normal. 00:18:46.42\00:18:48.57 But people today are sometimes coming to the doctor, 00:18:49.09\00:18:51.78 it's happened to me, 00:18:51.79\00:18:52.84 I see people come without a diagnosis of diabetes 00:18:53.12\00:18:56.33 and they've already got diabetic complications. 00:18:56.45\00:18:58.78 They're having vision problems, 00:18:59.09\00:19:00.57 or their kidneys are being effected, 00:19:00.72\00:19:02.57 or their nerves are being effected. 00:19:02.66\00:19:04.15 So we encourage people, 00:19:04.57\00:19:06.06 especially if they have risk factors for diabetes, 00:19:06.15\00:19:08.39 if you're overweight, 00:19:08.40\00:19:09.39 if it runs in the family, 00:19:09.48\00:19:10.60 if you're in your 40's, or 50's, or beyond, and 00:19:10.81\00:19:13.24 you're not on a healthy program 00:19:13.48\00:19:15.51 find out what your fasting blood sugar is, at least. 00:19:15.57\00:19:18.63 Because the earlier you catch this 00:19:18.81\00:19:20.45 the more you can do about it and prevent the complications. 00:19:20.48\00:19:23.27 Yeah. 00:19:23.30\00:19:24.30 So, these people who are watching you right now, 00:19:26.87\00:19:30.06 what can they do to check their blood sugars, 00:19:30.75\00:19:33.06 where do they go, how do they find out? 00:19:33.07\00:19:35.06 Well a blood sugar check is very simple. 00:19:35.69\00:19:38.54 Actually all it involves is having your finger pricked 00:19:38.72\00:19:41.72 and just checking a quick blood sugar reading, 00:19:42.12\00:19:44.66 a nurse can do it, it can be done in a clinic, 00:19:44.69\00:19:47.24 it can probably be done in your doctor's own office. 00:19:47.45\00:19:51.24 And if you want a more precise reading, 00:19:51.42\00:19:53.45 if you've got any questions about the finger stick method, 00:19:53.46\00:19:56.48 just have a blood sugar test done. 00:19:56.75\00:19:59.36 They can draw blood from the vein 00:19:59.37\00:20:01.03 and it can be measured very precisely. 00:20:01.06\00:20:02.75 So Ron, it's not difficult, 00:20:03.15\00:20:04.57 whether it's the finger stick method, 00:20:04.60\00:20:06.21 or an actual blood draw. 00:20:06.22\00:20:07.57 But people can find out and they can know where they stand. 00:20:07.60\00:20:10.18 What about the Obesity? 00:20:10.42\00:20:12.39 That seems to be a common denominator. 00:20:12.40\00:20:14.48 It is. 00:20:14.54\00:20:15.57 It's a big problem. 00:20:15.63\00:20:16.72 There's three primary things that set the stage for diabetes 00:20:16.73\00:20:20.18 in America, at least the type 2 variety. 00:20:20.19\00:20:22.66 We use to call it adult onset diabetes. 00:20:22.84\00:20:24.51 But type 2 diabetes, basically the 00:20:25.00\00:20:27.45 three underlying factors are, inactivity, 00:20:27.51\00:20:30.00 overweight, 00:20:30.42\00:20:31.42 and poor dietary choices. 00:20:31.60\00:20:33.36 Those are the three big ones. 00:20:33.37\00:20:34.75 We rarely see type 2 diabetes in 00:20:34.76\00:20:37.39 someone who is thin and fit for example. 00:20:37.40\00:20:39.39 So for the viewers at home, we just have a few seconds left, 00:20:40.45\00:20:43.48 what can they do to get on track right now? 00:20:43.87\00:20:46.15 Basically, get serious about taking charge of your health. 00:20:46.69\00:20:49.63 Get on a good fitness program, talk with your doctor 00:20:50.06\00:20:52.30 if you've got any questions about the safety. 00:20:52.31\00:20:54.24 And start eating more plant foods. 00:20:54.39\00:20:55.87 They're the real winners when it comes to diabetes. 00:20:55.88\00:20:58.12 Dr. DeRose, thank you so much, 00:20:58.75\00:21:00.72 for coming on the set with us. 00:21:01.06\00:21:02.48 Great to be with you, Ron. 00:21:02.49\00:21:03.84 It's always a pleasure to have you. 00:21:03.85\00:21:04.84 And thank you, friends. 00:21:04.85\00:21:05.84 But don't go away because we have a tip for you 00:21:05.85\00:21:08.06 following this message. 00:21:08.63\00:21:10.06 Modern views of evolution stem all the way back 00:21:12.42\00:21:15.06 to theories developed in the mid-1800s. 00:21:15.07\00:21:17.45 Out of the same time period came ideas that shape 00:21:18.12\00:21:21.42 our educational system today. 00:21:21.45\00:21:23.60 The Common School Movement, for example, 00:21:24.24\00:21:26.51 saw schools more like a factory, 00:21:26.87\00:21:28.78 with students blindly memorizing instruction 00:21:28.79\00:21:31.54 rather than thinking for themselves. 00:21:31.57\00:21:33.54 Their curriculum was rigid and theoretical. 00:21:34.09\00:21:36.54 Instead of being flexible and practical, 00:21:36.55\00:21:39.39 it was designed to conform the individual 00:21:39.54\00:21:42.12 into a specific ideological mold 00:21:42.13\00:21:44.57 that fit the needs of an old industrial era 00:21:44.58\00:21:47.36 long since passed. 00:21:47.37\00:21:48.75 Just like our view of creation in six literal days, 00:21:50.12\00:21:53.45 we believe the Bible contains an educational blueprint 00:21:53.46\00:21:57.45 radically different from the one we see now. 00:21:57.72\00:22:00.24 Hello, and welcome to NEWSTART At Home. 00:22:26.30\00:22:27.87 I'm your host Don Mackintosh. 00:22:28.30\00:22:29.66 And today we have Dr. Doug Plata in the studio with us. 00:22:29.67\00:22:32.81 Welcome, Doctor. 00:22:33.18\00:22:34.18 Thank you. 00:22:34.19\00:22:35.24 You are a specialist in family and preventive medicine. 00:22:35.25\00:22:40.30 That's correct. 00:22:40.31\00:22:41.30 And one of the things we've been talking about is the 00:22:41.31\00:22:44.84 lack of hydration people have. 00:22:45.27\00:22:47.75 They're not drinking enough water. 00:22:47.76\00:22:49.12 Or maybe some people drink too much. 00:22:49.42\00:22:51.06 But we want to talk about water today. 00:22:51.07\00:22:52.57 How important is it? 00:22:53.06\00:22:54.06 It's extremely important. There's studies showing that 00:22:54.39\00:22:57.48 for heart health it's actually about as important as 00:22:57.75\00:23:01.18 many of the common treatments we have for heart disease. 00:23:01.33\00:23:04.66 By making sure you get an adequate 00:23:05.21\00:23:08.57 amount versus those who are on the low end, 00:23:08.58\00:23:10.45 the difference 00:23:10.46\00:23:11.45 means about a 50% reduction in the risk of 00:23:11.46\00:23:15.57 heart attack. 00:23:16.06\00:23:17.06 And that's probably because the 00:23:17.09\00:23:18.66 blood gets more viscous and more sticky 00:23:18.67\00:23:20.72 and maybe causes the coronary events? 00:23:20.73\00:23:22.60 We're not entirely sure but that's 00:23:22.66\00:23:24.15 probably at least part of the reason. 00:23:24.16\00:23:26.09 I'm guessing there's probably more parts to it. 00:23:26.12\00:23:28.81 So, what kind of water should we drink, just tap water, 00:23:29.06\00:23:32.84 or distilled water? 00:23:32.85\00:23:33.84 There's all kinds, when I go to the store I can spend 00:23:34.30\00:23:36.78 $1.72 for a bottle or, I don't know $1.00. 00:23:37.06\00:23:42.33 And then I can find this exotic water that's, 00:23:42.36\00:23:45.06 I'm not going to say $10.00 but 00:23:45.18\00:23:46.75 there's a big vast variation in price, 00:23:47.06\00:23:48.48 and they all have different labels, 00:23:48.49\00:23:50.33 how should I navigate that? 00:23:50.34\00:23:51.69 The first thing I'd like to point out is 00:23:51.72\00:23:54.18 that regardless of the type of the water, 00:23:54.19\00:23:55.63 getting enough water that's the #1 message, 00:23:55.66\00:23:58.06 first and foremost. 00:23:58.09\00:23:59.09 When it comes to the type of water 00:23:59.27\00:24:01.33 there have been a number of different 00:24:01.57\00:24:04.33 studies done on this and 00:24:04.84\00:24:07.30 again make sure you get enough water. 00:24:07.63\00:24:10.18 Probably one of the more unhealthy forms of water 00:24:11.54\00:24:14.09 is actually distilled water. 00:24:14.27\00:24:15.84 I know this is going to come as a 00:24:15.85\00:24:17.42 surprise and concern to some of the listeners. 00:24:17.43\00:24:21.24 But what distilled water does is it separates out the minerals 00:24:21.72\00:24:24.84 from the water and what we're finding out is 00:24:25.12\00:24:27.27 those minerals are there for a reason. 00:24:27.28\00:24:29.51 For particularly cardiac health. 00:24:29.54\00:24:31.75 So tap water is good after all? 00:24:31.76\00:24:34.06 It depends on the local environment. 00:24:34.12\00:24:37.24 For example if there are chemicals in the water. 00:24:37.25\00:24:39.24 I think many of us have chosen to go with 00:24:39.27\00:24:42.09 water that is from a natural source. 00:24:42.27\00:24:44.66 Mountain water. 00:24:44.72\00:24:45.75 And then what about filtered with charcoal? 00:24:45.78\00:24:48.09 It's probably better because it takes out 00:24:48.30\00:24:52.06 the chlorine and some of the other substances. 00:24:52.07\00:24:54.81 How much water should I drink? 00:24:58.06\00:24:59.42 I always hear 6 to 8 glasses is that valid, 00:24:59.43\00:25:03.51 or how do you tell? 00:25:03.52\00:25:04.66 The problem is people come in 00:25:05.57\00:25:07.12 different sizes they have different needs. 00:25:07.13\00:25:09.21 And if it's a hot day versus if you're exercising 00:25:09.24\00:25:12.06 6 to 8 glasses is maybe a good rule of thumb. 00:25:12.39\00:25:15.75 But I think a far better way is to actually let 00:25:16.18\00:25:19.75 your urine be the guide in how much you should get. 00:25:19.87\00:25:23.87 So my urine being the guide is sort of interesting. 00:25:24.15\00:25:28.33 I've never thought of being led around by my urine. 00:25:28.36\00:25:30.72 But what do you mean by letting the urine be the guide? 00:25:30.73\00:25:34.30 As you pee in the toilet and look at the color 00:25:34.31\00:25:39.84 it's pretty straight forward but it's 00:25:40.18\00:25:41.84 something we need to pay attention to, 00:25:41.85\00:25:44.06 if it's really dark yellow then we're not getting enough water. 00:25:44.07\00:25:48.57 If it's clear then we know we're doing a good job. 00:25:48.75\00:25:51.06 So it should be as close to clear as possible? 00:25:51.18\00:25:53.54 Really that's true. 00:25:53.57\00:25:54.57 And if you're seeing that it's not 00:25:55.24\00:25:57.06 you need to drink 2, 3, 4 more glasses? 00:25:57.07\00:26:00.54 Get more water. 00:26:00.55\00:26:01.54 But the problem is that urine comes at the end. 00:26:01.55\00:26:03.69 In other words it's what you should have been doing before. 00:26:04.09\00:26:06.30 So how can you make sure that you're getting enough? 00:26:06.31\00:26:08.63 What you can do is you can use the urine as a general guide. 00:26:09.12\00:26:11.57 And you would say, boy I'm just... 00:26:11.58\00:26:12.78 It's a reminder, I'm not getting enough water 00:26:13.06\00:26:14.84 so I need to do things to be able to help 00:26:14.85\00:26:16.69 get enough water, as evidenced by clear urine. 00:26:17.72\00:26:21.27 Okay, so I get my water bottle, 00:26:21.51\00:26:24.06 can the water be damaged at all by 00:26:24.09\00:26:25.48 sitting in a plastic bottle in the sun? 00:26:25.49\00:26:28.45 Tell us about that. 00:26:29.21\00:26:30.21 Yeah, there are significant concerns 00:26:30.22\00:26:31.72 about certain substances within plastics. 00:26:31.73\00:26:35.36 The harder the plastic the better. 00:26:35.39\00:26:37.06 For me I actually use a stainless steel container. 00:26:37.30\00:26:41.12 Or even a glass container is probably a safer 00:26:41.39\00:26:46.09 way to store water. 00:26:46.33\00:26:47.54 And if you have it in the sun, if it's in a plastic bottle, 00:26:48.06\00:26:51.45 it's probably not good 00:26:51.46\00:26:52.45 there are certain chemicals that can leach into the water. 00:26:52.46\00:26:54.72 But if it's in glass or something 00:26:54.78\00:26:58.06 that's not going to leach out that's better. 00:26:58.07\00:26:59.48 So the most important thing is, get water. 00:26:59.51\00:27:01.42 Yes. 00:27:01.43\00:27:02.42 And get enough water based on 00:27:02.43\00:27:04.54 6 to 8 glasses is the rule of thumb, but really, 00:27:04.55\00:27:06.48 look at your urine to see if it's clear or not. 00:27:06.49\00:27:08.75 Make sure you're getting the best 00:27:09.24\00:27:11.78 kind of container for your water. 00:27:11.79\00:27:14.06 So you don't have any chemical interaction. 00:27:14.09\00:27:16.39 But the bottom line is, make sure you get water. 00:27:16.69\00:27:19.42 You really need water. 00:27:19.43\00:27:20.42 It's really hard to over do it. 00:27:20.43\00:27:21.69 Put it on your desk, have it with you, carry it, 00:27:21.72\00:27:24.42 whatever you can do. 00:27:24.43\00:27:25.42 We've been talking with Dr. Doug Plata 00:27:25.45\00:27:27.48 and we're thankful that you came to be with us today. 00:27:27.49\00:27:30.15 And we're glad that you came to be with us as well. 00:27:30.63\00:27:32.84 If you want information about this or 00:27:32.85\00:27:34.69 other topics that are very practical and useful 00:27:34.70\00:27:37.15 go to our website. 00:27:37.18\00:27:38.18 And you can find this program and 00:27:42.18\00:27:44.06 many others thanks for joining us. 00:27:44.07\00:27:46.33 Well friends that's it for today. 00:27:52.81\00:27:54.54 Thank you for joining us and 00:27:54.57\00:27:56.15 thank you for your cards and letters 00:27:56.16\00:27:58.30 and your phone calls. 00:27:58.48\00:27:59.78 Pick up the phone and give us a call at: 00:27:59.87\00:28:01.48 Have a great day and God bless! 00:28:05.42\00:28:07.24
