00:11:50.30\00:11:51.42 Very good to be here. 00:11:51.45\00:11:52.48 It's always good to see you. 00:11:52.54\00:11:53.72 I wanted you to do this one. 00:11:53.78\00:11:55.12 I know you did, and this lady is pretty incredible, 00:11:55.30\00:11:58.45 because I talked to here the day she got here, 00:11:58.69\00:12:00.69 and she was not real stable as you know. 00:12:01.24\00:12:04.21 Now she's off these medications, she is thinking clearly 00:12:04.45\00:12:08.03 she's able to communicate. 00:12:08.18\00:12:09.66 I know this is a blessing, 00:12:10.21\00:12:12.87 How did you find that she was taking too many medications. 00:12:13.21\00:12:17.60 Well, one of the things that 00:12:18.60\00:12:20.48 they tell us every time I go for a 00:12:20.49\00:12:22.66 review and an update in family practice, 00:12:23.21\00:12:25.63 they say your the primary 00:12:26.18\00:12:27.60 and all the specialists have put their medications in. 00:12:28.06\00:12:30.60 Your job is to figure out which ones they can get off of. 00:12:31.15\00:12:35.48 And they say, Look sometimes all 00:12:36.03\00:12:38.39 you have to do is give the patient 00:12:38.40\00:12:40.81 a therapeutic holiday. 00:12:41.36\00:12:43.30 and they get well because this ones done that, 00:12:44.42\00:12:46.57 and that one's done the other thing. 00:12:46.58\00:12:48.27 And so I just decided, 00:12:48.66\00:12:50.15 one of the things is that she tried to do the treadmill 00:12:50.60\00:12:52.84 and she couldn't get her blood pressure over 110. 00:12:53.39\00:12:56.00 That gave me the idea that she was on 00:12:56.45\00:12:58.54 too much medication for her blood pressure. 00:12:58.55\00:13:00.87 But with her legs swelling, they had to give her the lasix 00:13:01.24\00:13:04.48 to get the excess water out. 00:13:05.03\00:13:06.84 So it was just a no brainer when she couldn't stand up, 00:13:08.66\00:13:12.06 and she said, I feel light headed. 00:13:12.51\00:13:14.09 She was also having a reaction to her insulin, 00:13:14.54\00:13:17.18 so she was sitting there, just kind of. . . 00:13:17.63\00:13:19.45 you know you can tell when 00:13:20.39\00:13:22.06 people are going south on you with their insulin. 00:13:22.07\00:13:25.00 And she said, I feel nauseated, I feel like I'm going to vomit. 00:13:25.15\00:13:28.75 And so I said, Well look 00:13:29.51\00:13:31.36 let's just stop all of your medication now 00:13:33.15\00:13:36.33 and then we'll add the ones back that you need. 00:13:36.66\00:13:38.72 So the very next day I weighed her, 00:13:39.15\00:13:41.06 to see what her weight was doing, 00:13:41.75\00:13:44.03 because we've had 00:13:44.04\00:13:45.12 people come off of five different 00:13:45.36\00:13:47.30 medications for their blood pressure by the Thursday. 00:13:47.31\00:13:50.33 So I weighed her the next day, 00:13:50.57\00:13:51.87 and she was still losing a little bit of weight, 00:13:52.45\00:13:54.51 so I knew that she didn't need to have the diuretic 00:13:54.84\00:13:57.06 And the next day she said 00:13:58.57\00:14:00.09 Doctor thank you so much for taking me off these medicines, 00:14:00.39\00:14:03.57 I just feel like I can do something now, 00:14:04.12\00:14:06.12 I can think I can walk, I don't have the pain, 00:14:06.36\00:14:10.21 and all these things, so I said, 00:14:10.51\00:14:11.84 Well that's wonderful now let's see how you do. 00:14:11.85\00:14:14.66 She's going to be here two sessions, 00:14:14.78\00:14:16.51 and that's going to be really wonderful. 00:14:16.52\00:14:18.36 Yes and perhaps we can get here 00:14:18.48\00:14:19.81 in the studio for the next session. 00:14:19.82\00:14:21.33 How about at the end of the two? 00:14:23.36\00:14:25.09 Yes, yes that's what I'm talking about. 00:14:25.39\00:14:27.45 I wanted to ask you this: 00:14:28.00\00:14:29.33 now she tells us she was on several medications, 00:14:29.78\00:14:33.78 isn't this kind of common 00:14:35.12\00:14:37.33 here's a lady who's had a five way bypass 00:14:37.78\00:14:40.39 she's all of a sudden come up with diabetes, 00:14:40.84\00:14:43.42 she's morbidly obese 00:14:43.54\00:14:45.75 and the list goes on and on and on with all 00:14:46.30\00:14:48.24 these different problems that she is having. 00:14:48.25\00:14:50.15 And each time she goes to a specialist, 00:14:50.45\00:14:52.60 as you've already suggested, 00:14:52.61\00:14:54.18 they want to give here something to help her. 00:14:54.48\00:14:56.42 Is this really typical? 00:14:57.72\00:14:59.03 Is this happening out there in the world, 00:14:59.04\00:15:01.12 are people watching us out there right now 00:15:01.13\00:15:03.21 saying, Yes, I'm just like this lady, help me. 00:15:03.39\00:15:06.27 What can they do? 00:15:06.42\00:15:07.60 Well you know there really is, but to be fair to everybody, 00:15:07.81\00:15:11.09 the idea that most people say is, 00:15:11.66\00:15:13.69 Look, just give me the pill Doc, 00:15:13.75\00:15:15.66 and we'll worry about the diet and exercise next time. 00:15:15.67\00:15:18.78 You see, so it's not entirely their fault. 00:15:19.66\00:15:22.06 I talked to a cardiologist one time 00:15:22.07\00:15:23.87 and he realized, he said, Wow, this is going to be great. 00:15:24.18\00:15:27.48 So he went out there in the real 00:15:27.81\00:15:29.21 world and started talking to his patients, 00:15:29.22\00:15:30.81 telling them to do this, telling them to do that, 00:15:31.30\00:15:33.18 their just kind of like. . . 00:15:33.19\00:15:34.24 You know, so he finally stopped talking to 00:15:35.45\00:15:37.30 them and just started writing them prescriptions. 00:15:37.31\00:15:39.39 It's kind of discouraging, I would imagine. 00:15:39.54\00:15:41.27 It is discouraging, but this lady 00:15:41.30\00:15:43.00 needed to know that she could do it, 00:15:43.01\00:15:44.66 And she was here in September of 05, you see. 00:15:45.00\00:15:48.18 Was it September? 00:15:48.24\00:15:49.27 It was September of 05, and she lost over 100 pounds! 00:15:49.33\00:15:53.18 On here diet and exercise, now that's true grit. 00:15:54.39\00:15:57.48 And she went in to see her doctor, 00:15:58.00\00:15:59.78 and I don't know anything about him, 00:16:00.33\00:16:01.54 but he's not real supportive, 00:16:02.09\00:16:03.27 and he was sitting there at his computer 00:16:03.28\00:16:04.78 saying, Now tell me what was the 00:16:05.30\00:16:07.21 date of your gastric bypass surgery? 00:16:07.22\00:16:09.30 She said, I didn't. . . 00:16:09.51\00:16:10.60 He said, I've got to enter this into your history, your record. 00:16:11.15\00:16:14.78 She said, No I did it with diet and exercise, 00:16:15.09\00:16:18.00 that lifestyle thing. 00:16:18.01\00:16:19.27 He just kind of looked at her, 00:16:19.84\00:16:21.09 didn't say anything, just went on. 00:16:21.10\00:16:22.33 And see, she said, I don't get encouragement. 00:16:22.78\00:16:25.45 But I mean, you know, there isn't time, 00:16:25.72\00:16:29.21 and that's what we're going to have to do is 00:16:29.57\00:16:30.81 we're going to have to take care of our own health. 00:16:30.82\00:16:32.33 So she loses all this weight, she's feeling better, 00:16:32.66\00:16:36.63 then there's a big stress that comes up in her life, 00:16:37.06\00:16:40.12 and she goes back to some of her old things. 00:16:40.57\00:16:42.39 We were talking about that yesterday you know. 00:16:42.40\00:16:44.27 And so she gains back 20 or 30 pounds. 00:16:44.69\00:16:47.30 She realizes what's happened in the past, 00:16:48.06\00:16:50.24 and she says, Now I'm going to go back, 00:16:50.36\00:16:52.30 I don't care what happens 00:16:52.31\00:16:53.48 let's spend the money, 00:16:54.03\00:16:55.27 and I'm going to go back where I know 00:16:55.28\00:16:57.33 that they can help me, because 00:16:57.66\00:16:58.87 I've done it before and it works. 00:16:58.88\00:17:00.24 And here she is. 00:17:01.03\00:17:02.33 It's absolutely a marvelous story, 00:17:03.42\00:17:05.36 I can really relate to her, 00:17:05.81\00:17:07.48 because it happened with me as you know. 00:17:07.49\00:17:09.75 And I know there are people watching right now, 00:17:10.30\00:17:12.84 that are saying, Can it help me? 00:17:12.85\00:17:14.60 I would like to think that, you know 00:17:15.72\00:17:17.75 this isn't snake oil, this isn't something 00:17:18.15\00:17:20.84 where you come here, and we give you another pill, 00:17:21.12\00:17:23.75 and you can get well. 00:17:24.09\00:17:25.21 You actually change your lifestyle 00:17:25.36\00:17:27.63 while you are here at our NEWSTART program. 00:17:27.64\00:17:30.45 And the doctors are with you everyday, 00:17:30.75\00:17:32.75 they eat breakfast with you 00:17:32.76\00:17:34.21 they eat lunch, and if some of you eat dinner, 00:17:34.42\00:17:36.78 they eat dinner with you, 00:17:36.79\00:17:38.12 they help you, they walk with you, 00:17:38.27\00:17:40.12 and you'll be encouraged. 00:17:40.13\00:17:41.42 So if you have any doubts, just pick up the phone, 00:17:41.51\00:17:45.03 Dr. Lukens would love to talk with you, 00:17:45.48\00:17:47.33 I'll talk with you, 00:17:47.57\00:17:48.60 Dr. Ing will talk with you, 00:17:48.78\00:17:50.15 we have a staff of people at guest 00:17:50.16\00:17:52.33 services that will chat with you, 00:17:52.34\00:17:54.39 but you got to pick up that phone, 00:17:54.78\00:17:56.12 call: 00:17:56.57\00:17:59.57 Enough pluggin now, let's get back to this 00:18:01.09\00:18:03.30 story because I'm really excited about it. 00:18:03.72\00:18:05.42 Ok, the other thing is, that her eyesight is going away, you see 00:18:05.60\00:18:09.75 and she has this terrible pain in her feet 00:18:10.30\00:18:13.03 we call that neuropathy, diabetic peripheral neuropathy. 00:18:13.42\00:18:16.78 And there's nothing out there that can give you the gabapentin 00:18:17.33\00:18:20.57 they can give you the various things 00:18:20.72\00:18:23.24 that they try to help you with the pain. 00:18:23.25\00:18:25.84 And I've had patients tell me, 00:18:26.39\00:18:27.66 they say there's nothing you can do, 00:18:28.09\00:18:29.54 what about if I keep my blood pressure, 00:18:29.55\00:18:31.18 what if I get my diabetes under control will that help it? 00:18:31.30\00:18:35.39 No we just really don't know of anything. 00:18:35.45\00:18:37.30 But we did some studies in the past and we find out that 00:18:38.00\00:18:40.84 the majority of the people 00:18:41.39\00:18:43.18 the pain gets a lot better or it may 00:18:43.51\00:18:46.00 be completely gone in four to six days 00:18:46.01\00:18:48.42 Now Doctor, when she was here at the last 00:18:49.06\00:18:51.75 session, I want to say in September of 05 00:18:52.30\00:18:55.60 was she walking then better than she is now? 00:18:56.12\00:18:59.57 We've got to get a picture of her, 00:19:00.21\00:19:01.48 because you wouldn't 00:19:01.49\00:19:02.51 recognize her as the same person. 00:19:02.52\00:19:03.51 Really, well she was 100 pounds heavier. 00:19:03.72\00:19:06.57 Yes more than a hundred pounds more, 00:19:06.69\00:19:08.60 I didn't recognize her when I saw her. 00:19:08.61\00:19:10.54 But see this is the thing, you keep coming back, 00:19:10.72\00:19:13.45 you keep fine tuning it until you are where you want to be. 00:19:13.48\00:19:17.21 So by the time this session, 00:19:17.78\00:19:20.00 say not this one but the next session 00:19:20.01\00:19:22.66 because she is staying for two right? 00:19:22.81\00:19:24.39 - Yes. 00:19:24.40\00:19:25.39 By the time that second session is over 00:19:25.40\00:19:27.66 will she be able to walk on her own and under her own power? 00:19:28.06\00:19:31.06 She's already pretty much doing it. 00:19:31.33\00:19:33.09 She came up from the clinic this morning, 00:19:33.54\00:19:35.21 and I was surprised, I expected her to be 00:19:35.22\00:19:37.27 kind of just pushing her walker along, 00:19:37.42\00:19:39.36 she walked right up to the top of that incline there, 00:19:39.60\00:19:42.21 and I said, Wow, don't you need to rest? 00:19:42.27\00:19:43.87 and she said, yes it's a little bit steep. 00:19:43.88\00:19:45.60 But she just kept right on going. 00:19:45.78\00:19:47.42 Wow, isn't that wonderful? - Yes, it's great. 00:19:47.45\00:19:49.54 That's just fantastic, and she loves the food. 00:19:49.81\00:19:51.84 Yes, and she's very appreciative, 00:19:52.27\00:19:54.24 she has a good attitude, 00:19:54.25\00:19:55.60 She knows she's been through it before, 00:19:55.78\00:19:57.39 she knows she can do it again, and go further this time 00:19:57.84\00:20:00.42 What about her depression? 00:20:00.54\00:20:02.03 are we able to help her with her depression? 00:20:02.04\00:20:04.36 You know, some of the best psychiatrists I know and also 00:20:04.84\00:20:07.21 my wife's newsletters say 00:20:07.33\00:20:10.18 with every single 00:20:10.45\00:20:12.21 medication that you give to the depressed person 00:20:13.60\00:20:17.30 you have to incorporate exercise. 00:20:17.57\00:20:20.36 Exercise has to be there, 00:20:20.60\00:20:22.45 otherwise the medications won't work. 00:20:22.46\00:20:25.12 And one of the psychiatrists that we're associated with 00:20:25.42\00:20:27.48 he said, I would do anything 00:20:27.81\00:20:29.60 if I could get my patients to exercise. 00:20:30.03\00:20:31.81 He says, I know that my pills 00:20:32.18\00:20:33.24 aren't going to do that much for them, 00:20:33.25\00:20:34.54 unless they will exercise as well. 00:20:34.87\00:20:36.66 Well we got an answer for that one 00:20:37.36\00:20:39.51 for some of you doctors out there, 00:20:39.52\00:20:41.60 all you need to do is take the 00:20:42.09\00:20:43.81 time and walk with your patients. 00:20:43.82\00:20:45.75 That's what we do here. 00:20:46.39\00:20:47.72 Dr. Lukens does it, Dr Ing does it, 00:20:48.09\00:20:50.75 and several other doctors who fill in from time to time. 00:20:51.12\00:20:55.09 They walk, you walk. . . 00:20:55.30\00:20:56.63 I see you walking all the time with guests. 00:20:56.64\00:20:59.03 So that's the way to encourage them, 00:20:59.39\00:21:01.78 you're leading by example wouldn't you say? 00:21:02.21\00:21:04.15 I'll tell you, you know in Corinthians it says 00:21:04.30\00:21:07.27 Now abides faith, hope, and love, 00:21:07.72\00:21:09.60 but the greatest of these is love. 00:21:09.61\00:21:11.45 We know that, but hope is huge. 00:21:11.81\00:21:14.09 If they are hopeless, and 00:21:14.54\00:21:15.87 discouraged nothing is going to happen. 00:21:15.88\00:21:18.00 When they get hope, then they go for it, 00:21:18.15\00:21:20.42 and they get well, the Lord heals them. 00:21:20.66\00:21:22.39 And I see that you give them hope, 00:21:23.81\00:21:26.33 I see that you add to that 00:21:26.34\00:21:28.18 and I want to thank you, 00:21:28.19\00:21:29.30 and thank you for joining us in the studio. 00:21:29.31\00:21:30.63 The Holy Spirit does it. 00:21:30.64\00:21:32.03 Thank you Dr. Lukens for joining us. 00:21:32.33\00:21:34.09 This is exciting and we want other 00:21:34.36\00:21:36.24 people to be encouraged and do it too. 00:21:36.25\00:21:38.24 And thank you for joining us folks, 00:21:38.84\00:21:40.87 and don't go away, we'll be right back. 00:21:40.88\00:21:43.18 Welcome to NEWSTART at home, I'm your host Don Mackintosh, 00:21:57.06\00:21:59.48 we're glad that you're with us today. 00:21:59.49\00:22:01.09 And today, I'm delighted that Dr. Neil Nedley 00:22:01.66\00:22:03.21 is with us in the studio, Welcome Dr. Nedley. 00:22:03.22\00:22:05.66 Thank you, good to be here. 00:22:05.84\00:22:07.27 We're going to talk today about something that usually an 00:22:08.03\00:22:11.15 internal medicine specialist isn't known 00:22:11.16\00:22:12.81 for but probably should be known for 00:22:12.82\00:22:14.36 and that is, how to deal with your emotions. 00:22:14.54\00:22:17.18 Absolutely, emotional intelligence, in fact 00:22:17.48\00:22:19.81 how successful people are at changing their lifestyle for 00:22:20.21\00:22:23.72 the better is intricately 00:22:23.73\00:22:25.36 related to emotional intelligence. 00:22:25.37\00:22:27.42 It has to do with motivation, 00:22:27.60\00:22:29.42 it has to do with relationships, 00:22:29.72\00:22:31.30 it has to do with accurate thinking, 00:22:31.63\00:22:33.54 understanding their emotions 00:22:33.55\00:22:35.03 and actually managing their emotions, 00:22:35.48\00:22:37.24 instead of their emotions managing them. 00:22:37.25\00:22:39.06 I'm sure that in the acute 00:22:39.72\00:22:40.84 care settings that you are in this is key, 00:22:40.85\00:22:42.60 for people to get better, because they are in 00:22:42.69\00:22:44.72 very emotionally draining, and unstable situations. 00:22:44.73\00:22:47.06 The mind and the body are connected. 00:22:47.27\00:22:49.30 Now you know you have these ten distortions 00:22:50.12\00:22:52.60 or you know, thought processes that can be confused 00:22:53.06\00:22:55.75 and one of the ones that you list here is mental filter. 00:22:56.30\00:23:00.21 What do you mean by that? 00:23:00.22\00:23:01.36 Well a mental filter, an example of this is 00:23:01.72\00:23:04.03 I finished the most grueling task I had ever taken 00:23:04.48\00:23:09.27 anatomy, histology, which is anatomy under the microscope, 00:23:09.72\00:23:13.42 neuroanatomy, embryology. 00:23:13.87\00:23:15.69 And it was a tough exam, and when I got out of it, 00:23:16.24\00:23:18.42 I was one of the last ones out of the exam, 00:23:18.43\00:23:20.30 there was a group of student 00:23:20.42\00:23:22.21 hovered by a girl that was very emotional 00:23:22.22\00:23:24.66 and I thought she had been hurt or something, 00:23:25.21\00:23:27.84 she was crying as well. 00:23:27.85\00:23:29.27 And so I went over there to see what was going on, 00:23:29.72\00:23:32.18 and she was talking about the test, she could think 00:23:32.36\00:23:35.27 of 17 questions already that she had gotten wrong, 00:23:35.28\00:23:38.06 and she hadn't even cracked her book open, 00:23:38.54\00:23:40.39 and so she knew that she had failed the test. 00:23:40.40\00:23:42.33 And she was going over these 17 questions over and over again. 00:23:42.81\00:23:46.39 With the people there. 00:23:47.24\00:23:49.18 And I realized I had missed some of those too, 00:23:49.54\00:23:51.45 so I was starting to wonder about my outcome. 00:23:51.46\00:23:53.27 She just told us that she 00:23:53.51\00:23:55.24 wasn't cut out to be a physician, 00:23:55.25\00:23:57.36 this proved it, she wasn't going to be able to do it. 00:23:57.81\00:24:00.00 She went home, she sobbed the whole two weeks, 00:24:00.18\00:24:02.72 never cracked her book open, because she 00:24:03.00\00:24:05.03 knew she would even be devastated further 00:24:05.04\00:24:07.09 but told her parents she couldn't be a doctor, 00:24:07.39\00:24:09.48 even though she wanted to be, and they wanted her to be. 00:24:09.49\00:24:12.06 And they had to really 00:24:12.30\00:24:13.42 coerce her back to medical school 00:24:13.43\00:24:15.06 because she was going to completely drop out. 00:24:15.07\00:24:17.09 And with trembling hands she took her test out of her mailbox 00:24:17.33\00:24:21.48 and there it was, minus 17, 83 percent, 00:24:22.03\00:24:25.09 this is by far the highest grade in the class. 00:24:25.10\00:24:28.54 And so all of the emotional problems she caused herself, 00:24:29.72\00:24:33.15 all the emotional problems she caused us 00:24:33.16\00:24:35.48 and her family, was all due to the mental filter of focusing 00:24:35.72\00:24:39.24 in on those 17 questions that she knew she had gotten wrong. 00:24:39.25\00:24:42.63 So the lesson here is be careful the filter you put on something. 00:24:43.54\00:24:47.30 That's right, and of course, 00:24:47.75\00:24:48.84 we can put an opposite filter on it. 00:24:48.85\00:24:50.27 Samson told his parents, 00:24:51.15\00:24:53.33 Get her for me, for she pleases me well. 00:24:53.34\00:24:57.00 And they tried to say, Well what about her religion? 00:24:57.45\00:25:00.12 Well what about this? What about that? 00:25:00.57\00:25:02.33 they tried to ask him some questions, 00:25:02.34\00:25:04.03 is this someone you really want to marry? 00:25:04.04\00:25:05.78 And he said, She's beautiful 00:25:06.00\00:25:07.75 and she's got a great personality, 00:25:08.30\00:25:10.12 and with those two things and further more, I love her. 00:25:10.57\00:25:13.30 And with all of that, you just knew that it was going to work, 00:25:13.75\00:25:17.06 all those other things his parents 00:25:17.07\00:25:18.78 were concerned about were not important. 00:25:18.79\00:25:20.81 He used a mental filter, and he unfortunately 00:25:21.15\00:25:23.72 never got rid of that filter when it came to women. 00:25:23.73\00:25:26.60 He went from one to another, divorce divorce divorce, 00:25:27.06\00:25:30.36 simply due to a mental filter. 00:25:31.45\00:25:33.78 Another one real quick is disqualifying the positive? 00:25:34.54\00:25:37.36 Yes, now this is even worse. 00:25:37.54\00:25:39.72 Instead of just focusing in on one aspect of things, 00:25:39.73\00:25:42.06 you know, almost to the exclusion 00:25:42.24\00:25:43.60 of other which is what a filter does, 00:25:43.61\00:25:45.15 this actually acknowledges the other side, 00:25:45.60\00:25:48.63 but then totally discounts it. 00:25:48.64\00:25:50.72 And of course that can be even more severe. 00:25:51.33\00:25:53.57 I know of someone that I was seeing in the psychiatric unit 00:25:53.58\00:25:56.60 that told me that no one cares a whipstitch about me. 00:25:57.06\00:25:59.66 And I told her, Well I do, 00:25:59.72\00:26:01.06 I wouldn't be here if I didn't care for you, 00:26:01.07\00:26:03.15 there's other things I could do, 00:26:03.16\00:26:04.66 furthermore I know the staff cares about you. 00:26:04.67\00:26:06.81 And she would say, Those 00:26:07.33\00:26:08.45 people don't count Dr. Nedley 00:26:08.46\00:26:09.72 they're not part of the real world, 00:26:09.73\00:26:11.12 and no one that's part of the real world likes me. 00:26:11.24\00:26:14.57 You know, I pointed out her family had visited her, 00:26:14.60\00:26:17.60 the other patients liked her. 00:26:17.61\00:26:19.24 She said those people don't count 00:26:19.36\00:26:20.75 Dr. Nedley, they don't know the real me. 00:26:20.76\00:26:22.45 But she would acknowledge it and then discount it, 00:26:22.84\00:26:25.27 and of course that can be a dangerous situation, 00:26:25.28\00:26:27.45 and she needed cognitive 00:26:27.46\00:26:28.60 behavioural therapy which is a way of 00:26:28.61\00:26:30.33 improving her emotional 00:26:30.34\00:26:31.42 intelligence before she was discharged. 00:26:31.43\00:26:33.21 We're glad you joined us today on 00:26:33.78\00:26:36.09 NEWSTART at home, go to our website at: 00:26:36.10\00:26:38.60 and get the help you or perhaps a friend needs today. 00:26:38.84\00:26:41.63 Thanks for joining us. 00:26:41.75\00:26:43.00 Hi I hope you have enjoyed as much as 00:26:51.33\00:26:53.45 I have this edition of NEWSTART NOW. 00:26:53.46\00:26:55.48 I'm Jim, Brackett, executive vice 00:26:55.87\00:26:57.69 president here at the Weimar Center, 00:26:57.70\00:26:59.63 I want to take just a minute to give you an idea of some 00:26:59.84\00:27:02.27 of the wonderful resources we have here at the bookstore, 00:27:02.28\00:27:04.63 such as Dr. Nedley's book called Proof Positive. 00:27:05.03\00:27:07.51 Now in addition to Dr. Nedley's book, 00:27:08.39\00:27:10.39 he has a series on depression recovery 00:27:10.40\00:27:12.39 we have the NEWSTART lifestyle 00:27:12.60\00:27:14.57 series on DVD by our NEWSTART physicians, 00:27:14.58\00:27:17.24 relating to topics like heart disease, diabetes, cancer. 00:27:17.81\00:27:21.03 we have a number of 00:27:21.36\00:27:22.42 authors who have cook books here, 00:27:22.43\00:27:24.21 including some in the raw field. 00:27:24.66\00:27:26.33 Now we'd love to have you stop by and visit 00:27:26.87\00:27:28.75 us for your shopping, but you can do it online at: 00:27:28.76\00:27:30.75 Click the link that says bookstore. 00:27:32.69\00:27:34.51 Or use our 800 number: 00:27:34.84\00:27:36.87 And by the way, any time your order is 100 dollars or more 00:27:40.00\00:27:43.36 we'll see that you get free the NEWSTART lifestyle cookbook. 00:27:43.81\00:27:47.84 Well friends, that's it for today, 00:27:51.36\00:27:53.12 thank you for joining us, 00:27:53.13\00:27:54.48 pick up the phone right now, and give us a call at: 00:27:55.03\00:27:58.15 In the meantime, God bless you, and have a great week. 00:28:02.36\00:28:05.69
