Let's invite 00:20:17.01\00:20:20.35 him. Let's just see. Let's just see if Goliath comes through 00:20:20.35\00:20:23.55 that door. We need to see. We got to see Goliath. Oh, wait a 00:20:23.55\00:20:27.79 minute! That's the wrong door! We got to look over here! 00:20:27.79\00:20:32.79 Ohhhhhhhhhhhhh! [ Laughing ] Here comes -- Here comes Goliath. Oh, everybody, sit 00:20:32.79\00:20:38.80 down, sit down, sit down. You don't want to make him mad. You don't want to make him mad. 00:20:38.80\00:20:43.84 Sit down. Ohh. He reminds me of Pastor Ben, but he can't be because look how 00:21:10.83\00:21:14.94 tall he is, and Pastor Ben is not that tall. Oh, Mr. Goliath. 00:21:14.94\00:21:19.74 I have a few questions for Mr. Goliath. Shh. I have a -- 00:21:19.74\00:21:22.68 Shh. I have a few questions for our giant visitor today. Uh, Mr. Goliath, you seem tall, 00:21:22.68\00:21:29.08 but are you? How tall are you? >> Well, it's actually a little 00:21:29.08\00:21:32.89 bit difficult to say because those measuring things don't 00:21:32.89\00:21:36.42 fit. >> The what? >> Yeah. So, 10 to 11 feet. >> 10 to 11 feet? 00:21:36.42\00:21:42.80 Anybody here 10 to 11 feet? >> No. >> Nope. Nope. 00:21:42.80\00:21:45.97 About three of you. Three of you. Mr. Goliath, I-I-I'm even 00:21:45.97\00:21:50.81 embarrassed to ask you how much you weigh. But I want to know. 00:21:50.81\00:21:55.51 Whoa. This -- This is your chest armor. How much does that weigh? 00:21:55.51\00:22:00.48 >> It is remarkably heavy -- 125 pounds. >> 125 pounds?! 00:22:00.48\00:22:05.85 Anybody here weigh 125? Take three of you wrapped around his 00:22:05.85\00:22:10.39 chest. Oh, my. Oh. I see -- Uh-oh. I see Mr. Goliath brought 00:22:10.39\00:22:17.20 his spear. Let's ask him about his spear. Mr. Goliath, I see 00:22:17.20\00:22:21.30 that on the tip of your spear, you have this huge... iron... 00:22:21.30\00:22:26.64 head. How much does that iron head weigh? 00:22:26.64\00:22:30.78 >> Actually, the safety committee asked me to take it off for second service... 00:22:30.78\00:22:33.72 >> Ohh. Well, that's why it's not there. >> ...because it 00:22:33.72\00:22:36.75 weighs the amount of a small child... >> Ohh! >> ...15 00:22:36.75\00:22:40.89 pounds. >> 15 pounds? And that's just on the top of his spear. 00:22:40.89\00:22:47.23 Ohh. Do I look afraid? >> No. 00:22:55.70\00:22:59.91 >> Do you know why I'm not afraid? Because the truth about 00:22:59.91\00:23:03.98 Goliath is that if you're a little girl, if you're a little boy and you have a giant in your 00:23:03.98\00:23:11.22 life -- Oh, you say, "Pastor Dwight, I do not have a giant in my life." Oh, I'm sorry, but you 00:23:11.22\00:23:15.86 do, because when you take something that doesn't belong to you and you take it home and put 00:23:15.86\00:23:19.56 it in your bedroom, that's the giant of stealing. And when you 00:23:19.56\00:23:23.20 say something that you know is not true and it's a lie, that's the giant of lies. And if you 00:23:23.20\00:23:30.64 mouth off to your mother or father and talk back, that's the giant of sassing. Ooh. 00:23:30.64\00:23:36.64 You haven't heard about sassing, have you? You will. 00:23:36.64\00:23:41.48 Everybody has a giant, but here's the good news about Mr. Goliath being here for us. 00:23:41.48\00:23:45.82 It's to remind us that even if you're a little boy or a little girl, in the name of the 00:23:45.82\00:23:51.66 Son of David, you can conquer every giant in your life. What do you say to that? 00:23:51.66\00:23:57.63 [ Laughs ] Oh, Mr. Goliath, thank you so much for coming. 00:23:57.63\00:24:01.97 I tell you what. Let's just do that stone thing and see how he 00:24:01.97\00:24:05.97 falls. You want to do that thing? [ Laughter ] Huh? 00:24:05.97\00:24:08.74 No? Okay. [ Laughter ] Mr. Goliath! 00:24:08.74\00:24:12.71 Alright. There he goes, boys and girls. [ Applause ] 00:24:12.71\00:24:20.02 Who would like to thank Jesus, the Son of David -- Hey, shh. 00:24:20.02\00:24:25.26 Who would like to thank Jesus, the Son of David, for being the one who can conquer every giant 00:24:25.26\00:24:30.13 we have? Zawadi, it's so nice to have 00:24:36.97\00:24:41.61 you. We're going to close our eyes and fold our hands. Zawadi's going to thank Jesus 00:24:41.61\00:24:45.91 for being our giant-killer. >> Dear Heavenly Father, thank You 00:24:45.91\00:24:52.05 for this day. Thank You for saving us and dying on the cross for us. Please help us to be 00:24:52.05\00:25:01.50 good and to be respectful, and in Jesus' name, I pray. Amen. 00:25:01.50\00:25:05.00 >> Amen. Thank you, Zawadi. That was a beautiful prayer. Let's pray. Oh, God... that's what we need. That's what we want -- 00:29:25.73\00:29:32.93 that breakthrough. Give it to us, please. In the name of the 00:29:32.93\00:29:39.57 Son of David, amen. Let me teach you a one-line prayer. 00:29:39.57\00:29:42.04 You want a breakthrough prayer? It's a one-line prayer. I'll put 00:29:42.04\00:29:46.01 it on the screen. Memorize it, please. Pray it often. "Jesus, Son of David, have mercy 00:29:46.01\00:29:53.19 on me!" Let's try that one on -- Let's try the line on for size, 00:29:53.19\00:29:57.53 okay? Let's do it out loud together. >> "Jesus, Son of 00:29:57.53\00:30:01.63 David, have mercy on me!" >> Let's try it again. Come on. >> "Jesus, Son of David, have 00:30:01.63\00:30:06.60 mercy on me!" >> You want to slay your giant? What's that title that we're on 00:30:06.60\00:30:11.31 for this little breakthrough moment? 00:30:11.31\00:30:13.27 Put the title of the slide up, please -- "BreakThrough: How to 00:30:13.31\00:30:15.48 Slay Your Giant." Memorize that prayer. 00:30:15.48\00:30:19.35 Memorize that prayer and take the following three actions, 00:30:19.35\00:30:23.18 alright? 00:30:23.18\00:30:24.25 Action number 1 -- you have got to admit that it must have been a comical scene -- we're talking 00:30:24.29\00:30:31.39 about big King Saul with little only a boy named David trying on 00:30:31.39\00:30:40.47 that royal armor. I want you to notice Saul's response. Open your Bible to the story, 00:30:40.47\00:30:45.31 one of the greatest stories in sacred literature, David and Goliath, 1 Samuel 17. 00:30:45.31\00:30:50.88 Open your Bible to 1 Samuel 17. Let's go. What does Saul say to 00:30:50.88\00:30:55.88 that little shepherd boy? Drop down to verse 33. I'll be in the 00:30:55.88\00:30:59.59 New International Version. 00:30:59.59\00:31:01.99 "You, my boy, against that big giant? You got to be crazy!" 00:31:15.60\00:31:20.51 Let me tell you something about people like Saul. They're in all 00:31:20.51\00:31:24.95 of our lives. Whenever we face our giants, well-meaning people that we know very well have 00:31:24.95\00:31:31.75 tried to whittle us down to size. It could be the voice of a parent you're hearing right now. 00:31:31.75\00:31:35.19 Some of us hear our mother's voice. Some of us hear our 00:31:35.19\00:31:38.09 father's voice. It could be the voice of a teacher you heard 00:31:38.09\00:31:40.90 once upon a time and that voice has never left you. Could be the voice of a sibling, 00:31:40.90\00:31:44.30 a voice of a friend, an employer, somebody significant 00:31:44.30\00:31:49.40 in your life that has whittled you down to size. [ Scoffs ] 00:31:49.40\00:31:55.24 "You're not spiritual enough. Look at you. [ Chuckles ] 00:31:55.24\00:31:58.28 You're not bright enough. You're not good enough. You're not rich 00:31:58.28\00:32:05.49 enough. You can't." Why is it that when we're getting ready to 00:32:05.49\00:32:11.06 face the giant of our lives, those voices pop up in our minds and begin to taunt us? 00:32:11.06\00:32:15.73 "You can't! You can't! You're too -- You're too puny. Look at 00:32:15.73\00:32:21.17 you." [ Scoffs ] Fact of the matter is every one of us in this space right now is 00:32:21.17\00:32:31.45 facing a giant. Some of you have faced this giant since you were 00:32:31.45\00:32:36.05 a child. This giant has never left you or forsaken you, and it isn't the Lord Jesus, either. 00:32:36.05\00:32:41.52 This giant has learned every DNA of your mind and being. This giant knows every button to 00:32:41.52\00:32:48.40 push. Oh, mercy. Do we need a breakthrough? 00:32:48.40\00:32:54.20 Please! It's amazing the levels of shame and sophisticated 00:32:54.20\00:33:02.24 taunting and belittlement that take place in our families, our schools, even workplaces. 00:33:02.24\00:33:06.58 It just is so sad today. But I'm going to tell you a little secret about people who 00:33:06.58\00:33:11.75 try to shame others. I don't care where they are. They may be in the lowest office 00:33:11.75\00:33:14.79 in the land or the highest. It doesn't matter. If you try to 00:33:14.79\00:33:18.13 shame somebody, what you're telling everybody around you is that you have something you're 00:33:18.13\00:33:22.60 ashamed of yourself. That's why we cut people off at the legs. 00:33:22.60\00:33:26.10 We don't want them to go any higher than we are. The giants 00:33:26.10\00:33:32.34 are everywhere, folks. Saul says to David, "My man, you are never 00:33:32.34\00:33:38.11 going to make it!" But you know what? Saul's hiding a little secret that we all now know, 00:33:38.11\00:33:41.98 because you know what the Bible says about Saul? He was a head 00:33:41.98\00:33:46.76 taller than every other man in Israel. So when Goliath the giant comes out, bellowing, 00:33:46.76\00:33:52.43 "Send me your biggest warrior, send me your tallest man," everybody knows it's supposed to 00:33:52.43\00:33:58.80 be the king. He's a head taller! But wimpy Saul -- I want to tell 00:33:58.80\00:34:05.91 you something. Leaders who wimp out, leaders who succumb to fear, infuse the entire 00:34:05.91\00:34:12.11 organization, because everybody takes their cue from the leader. Watch what happens here. 00:34:12.11\00:34:16.55 Come on. This is, uh -- This is verse -- What is this, verse 11? 00:34:16.55\00:34:20.16 In 1 Samuel 17:11, there it is. 00:34:20.16\00:34:23.49 Now, they're not only dismayed and terrified, they respond 00:34:30.73\00:34:34.04 physically. Drop down to verse 24. "Whenever the Israelites saw" this belligerent giant, 00:34:34.04\00:34:41.18 "they all fled from him" in what? >> "Great fear." >> "In great fear," and that 00:34:41.18\00:34:46.48 includes Saul himself. So when he shames David, he's hiding his 00:34:46.48\00:34:53.36 own shame. Always works that way. You can count on it. Ahh. 00:34:53.36\00:34:59.19 Should be Saul strapping on this armor and saying, "Okay, I'm 00:34:59.19\00:35:02.83 going out. That does it." No, no. He straps it on David, and 00:35:02.83\00:35:06.27 it was comical. It had to be. David is walking in the tallest man's armor in Israel, thumping 00:35:06.27\00:35:10.87 around that tent, and, finally, David says, "Time-out! Enough is 00:35:10.87\00:35:15.24 enough!" Put the words on the screen. David says, "Look, 00:35:15.24\00:35:17.35 guys." And there it is -- jot it down in your mind -- action step 00:35:23.92\00:35:28.59 number 1. You must fight -- fight -- in your own armor. You 00:35:28.59\00:35:36.43 know why? Because you are a unique creation. In fact, I'll 00:35:36.43\00:35:39.90 just tell you a little secret. When you got born, God took the 00:35:39.90\00:35:45.01 DNA blueprint. [ Imitates paper tearing ] [ Pops lips ] "I 00:35:45.01\00:35:48.78 already have one. Why would I ever make a second one?" You are 00:35:48.78\00:35:53.15 absolutely unique. You were designed. God needed you on this planet. Don't wimp out on Him 00:35:53.15\00:35:58.15 now. He planned for you to be here. And guess what -- He made you. He created you to be a 00:35:58.15\00:36:05.66 winner. Oh, I love these words from Anthony DeStefano. This is 00:36:05.66\00:36:09.16 great. Put it on the screen for us all, please. 00:36:09.16\00:36:11.97 Congratulations! You got the luck of the draw! A half a 00:36:38.43\00:36:44.40 billion are gone because you came. Wow. As he goes on, "From a strictly statistical point of 00:36:44.40\00:36:50.01 view, your presence on this planet is a miracle... No matter what you may think of 00:36:50.01\00:36:55.18 yourself right now" -- and some of you have some dark thoughts about yourself because this week 00:36:55.18\00:36:59.38 is already feeling bad and I haven't even started yet -- 00:36:59.38\00:37:02.72 "No matter what you may think of yourself right now, you are 00:37:02.75\00:37:05.65 already an 'overachiever' of the highest caliber." 00:37:05.65\00:37:08.16 And then I love this. "You came into this world a 00:37:08.16\00:37:11.49 champion." 00:37:11.49\00:37:12.56 I'm telling you what, ladies and gentlemen -- you were designed 00:37:12.59\00:37:18.47 to win. And you and the Son of David can lick any giant in your 00:37:18.47\00:37:25.17 life. >> Yes. >> Come on. I like the way the words of the angel of the Lord to another 00:37:25.17\00:37:30.21 wimpy fighter who was scared to death -- This is the angel to 00:37:30.21\00:37:34.08 Gideon on the screen. I love what the angel says to him. 00:37:34.08\00:37:36.52 "Yo, Gideon! Go in the strength you have. You've got all the 00:37:36.52\00:37:42.19 armor you need. You don't need her armor. You don't need his 00:37:42.19\00:37:45.39 armor. You use your armor. Go in the strength you have. Fight in 00:37:45.39\00:37:51.60 your own armor." >> Come on. >> "Come on" is right. Action step number 1 -- fight in 00:37:51.60\00:37:56.20 your own armor. Action step number 2 -- run toward your 00:37:56.20\00:38:03.48 giant. Your own giant. I read an interview a few days ago. 00:38:03.48\00:38:06.55 Henry Winkler -- Hey, do you remember "Happy Days," the Fonz? 00:38:06.55\00:38:10.45 That's Henry Winkler. I learned something about him I never 00:38:10.45\00:38:14.09 knew. He was born dyslexic. That means he would look at a page with words on it and the 00:38:14.09\00:38:18.03 words would just kind of move around and he could not make any 00:38:18.03\00:38:21.36 sense. He told the interviewer, and I quote, "I kept telling myself, 'I can't do that. I'm 00:38:21.36\00:38:29.34 stupid.'" How many times have you breathed that -- "What a 00:38:29.34\00:38:34.61 stupid guy I am"? It's the giant taunting through you to yourself. And when a giant keeps 00:38:34.61\00:38:42.22 taunting that over and over into your mind, you quickly become a believer in the taunts. 00:38:42.22\00:38:46.72 Now, a woman named Lynn Oliver got ahold of him, became his 00:38:46.72\00:38:51.29 friend. She tells the interviewer, by the way, and I'm quoting her now, "The feeling of 00:38:51.29\00:38:54.20 being inadequate, the feeling of being a bad student, of not succeeding academically never 00:38:54.20\00:38:59.43 left him." And yet through her friendship, she was able to help Henry Winkler take down the 00:38:59.43\00:39:03.94 giant of dyslexia and despair -- brought it down -- to the place he wins an Emmy Award -- that's 00:39:03.94\00:39:09.88 television -- for his acting. He couldn't read the scripts. He had to memorize them... 00:39:09.88\00:39:15.35 to which he now has become a world-famous author of children's stories. 00:39:15.35\00:39:21.49 He's written 29 books so far. They star a little kid who has dyslexia, wouldn't you know? 00:39:21.49\00:39:28.70 And the kid's name is Hank Zipzer. And kids all over the 00:39:28.70\00:39:34.30 planet know Hank Zipzer. There is a story of a man who saw this giant, and he said, 00:39:34.30\00:39:41.31 "I'm not settling for that intimidating paralysis." You got to run towards your 00:39:41.31\00:39:47.92 giant, not from it. That's what David did. Listen, I don't know 00:39:47.92\00:39:51.99 what giant you're facing right now. I know that everybody here 00:39:51.99\00:39:56.02 has a giant. Some of you are thinking about your giant even as I speak. It might be a moral 00:39:56.02\00:40:01.60 giant or an immoral -- pardon me -- an immoral giant. It could be 00:40:01.60\00:40:07.60 the giant of finances or the lack of finances. It could be 00:40:07.60\00:40:11.47 the giant of fear. It could be the giant of failure. It could 00:40:11.47\00:40:13.84 be the giant of discrimination. It could be the giant of a 00:40:13.84\00:40:18.68 raging temper. Listen, our mutual enemy has a thousand masks through which he 00:40:18.68\00:40:25.99 masquerades as the giant of choice for you and me. He switches masks as fast as that, 00:40:25.99\00:40:33.80 taunting, taunting. So we live with that giant. We live with that giant and his intimidation, 00:40:33.80\00:40:41.84 his bellicose taunting, seeking to paralyze us through stinky, dark thinking. How's it work? 00:40:41.84\00:40:50.45 I'll show you how it works. 1 Peter 5:8. Where does this 00:40:50.45\00:40:56.42 stinky, dark thinking come from? Put it on the screen for you. 1 00:40:56.42\00:41:00.82 Peter 5:8. "Be alert and of sober" what? What's the word? >> 00:41:00.82\00:41:04.66 Mind. >> This is all up in the mind. 00:41:04.66\00:41:06.59 Do you know why the lion roars? He roars to paralyze his prey before he rips the prey apart. 00:41:11.70\00:41:20.24 He needs you paralyzed, immobile. 00:41:20.24\00:41:24.81 God keeps whispering in your ears, "I need a breakthrough, 00:41:24.85\00:41:27.42 girl. I need a breakthrough, boy. 00:41:27.42\00:41:29.05 Move it! Move it! Move it!" And the giant is telling you, 00:41:29.05\00:41:31.62 "You can't! You can't! You can't! You can't!" 00:41:31.62\00:41:35.46 Paralyzed. If you have a giant, by the way, 00:41:35.46\00:41:41.36 standing in front of you right now and some of you are thinking 00:41:41.36\00:41:44.43 of him... 00:41:44.43\00:41:47.44 who's been taunting you, some of you, ever since childhood... then it's time to take a page 00:41:47.47\00:41:51.87 out of David's playbook. You got to do action step number 2. 00:41:51.87\00:41:55.54 Put the words on the screen, please. What does it read in the 00:41:55.54\00:41:58.48 story? "As the Philistine moved closer to attack him, David ran 00:41:58.48\00:42:03.49 quickly" -- What's the next word? -- "toward" -- he "ran quickly toward the battle line 00:42:03.49\00:42:08.82 to meet his giant." He didn't run from his giant. He ran 00:42:08.82\00:42:13.43 toward his giant. You have to take the aggression. You have to take the initiative. You have to 00:42:13.43\00:42:19.60 move against your giant. You can't keep backing up because he will back you into a 00:42:19.60\00:42:23.04 corner and then you're lunch! You have to step forward when you don't feel like stepping 00:42:23.04\00:42:30.61 forward. I know a little bit about that. When everything in 00:42:30.61\00:42:33.78 you is saying, "Don't do it," you have to step forward. "I can't." "Yes, you can." 00:42:33.78\00:42:39.09 Remember the prayer. Remember the prayer. Action step number 2 00:42:39.09\00:42:45.63 -- you run... toward your own giant. Let's do all three of 00:42:45.63\00:42:51.57 these, 'cause we're ready for the final one now. Action step 00:42:51.57\00:42:55.67 number 1 on the screen -- fight in your own armor. Action step 00:42:55.67\00:42:59.24 number 2 on the screen -- run toward your own giant. 00:42:59.24\00:43:01.64 And now we're ready for action step number 3 -- call on your 00:43:01.68\00:43:05.21 own God. That's the key. 00:43:05.21\00:43:08.88 Come on. You got to read what David said 00:43:08.88\00:43:10.75 to Goliath. This is unbelievable. 00:43:10.75\00:43:13.05 So, you're near the middle of the chapter. 00:43:13.05\00:43:15.26 Let's drop down to verse 40. "Then David took his staff in 00:43:15.26\00:43:18.39 his hand, chose five smooth stones from the stream, put them 00:43:18.39\00:43:21.96 in the pouch of his shepherd's bag, and with the sling in his 00:43:21.96\00:43:25.20 hand, approaches," so he's going toward. 00:43:25.20\00:43:27.10 He is approaching the giant. 00:43:27.10\00:43:28.90 Now watch this. Verse 45. 00:43:28.94\00:43:30.84 Can I get an "Amen"? >> Amen! >> There is a God in Israel, and 00:43:59.30\00:44:03.20 Andrews University belongs to Israel. >> Amen. 00:44:03.20\00:44:08.14 [ Chuckling ] Wow. Pretty gutsy. Yo! You listening out there, 00:44:27.03\00:44:33.07 giants?! Can you hear us now?! I wish we had a YouTube of this 00:44:33.07\00:44:41.51 moment. I don't know how many watches it would have, but I'd 00:44:41.51\00:44:44.85 watch it a lot. "Patriarchs and Prophets" describes graphically 00:44:44.85\00:44:49.55 this very moment that we've just read. Put "Patriarchs and Prophets" on the screen, please. 00:44:49.55\00:44:54.29 Everybody heard it. Silent. And in a moment of frenzy... 00:45:14.84\00:45:26.59 Goliath foolishly -- foolishly -- pushed his massive brass helmet back, and as he 00:45:26.59\00:45:37.70 begins to run to David, David spots the most vulnerable part of the human cranium now 00:45:37.70\00:45:44.17 exposed to him. David, by the way, who is the backyard marksmanship specialist 00:45:44.17\00:45:50.51 with slings, sees that flesh come in his direction, and that 00:45:50.51\00:45:56.15 little sling -- [ Imitates whooshing ] And when he releases it, a tiny little -- one little 00:45:56.15\00:46:02.59 flinty projectile sails through the air. Bullmark! Bull's eye! 00:46:02.59\00:46:08.86 Right on the mark! And look at this on the screen. "The stone" 00:46:08.86\00:46:14.44 -- This is pretty graphic. "The stone" -- [ Imitates squishing ] 00:46:14.44\00:46:17.74 Slo-mo. [ Imitates squishing ] "The stone sank into his 00:46:17.74\00:46:22.08 forehead, and he fell facedown on the [Imitating rumbling] 00:46:22.08\00:46:32.22 ground." I love that. David grabs that sword and unsheathes 00:46:32.22\00:46:36.16 it. It's going to become his eventually. And high overhead... 00:46:36.16\00:46:41.36 he decapitates the wicked giant. Hell went into days of mourning, but all of heaven and Israel 00:46:41.36\00:46:50.87 rejoiced because the wicked giant is dead. >> Come on. 00:46:50.87\00:46:56.08 >> Amen. >> Ooh. Action step number 3. What is that again? 00:46:56.08\00:47:01.18 You do just like David did. You want to slay your giant? You do just like David did. 00:47:01.18\00:47:05.52 You call on your own God. And, by the way, did you catch the 00:47:05.52\00:47:10.93 name David used? What was it David said? "I come against you in the name of the Lord 00:47:10.93\00:47:15.13 Almighty, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied" -- youthful voice crying out. 00:47:15.13\00:47:18.90 The Hebrew reads this way. "I come to you in the name of 00:47:18.90\00:47:23.14 Yahweh Sabaoth," or Lord of Hosts," which means "the God of angel armies." Whoa. 00:47:23.14\00:47:29.91 Put that on the screen for us. "The God of angel armies." That 00:47:29.91\00:47:35.22 was the God of only a boy named David. That was the God of the stone, just the one stone that 00:47:35.22\00:47:41.82 hit the bull's eye... the God of angel armies. And I have good 00:47:41.82\00:47:49.06 news for you, because he's not only David's God, he's your God and my God. >> Amen! 00:47:49.06\00:47:54.24 >> Amen! >> Yeah, I want to go to that moment when the Son of 00:47:54.24\00:47:57.34 David is here. He is facing the darkest giant of his entire 00:47:57.34\00:48:02.38 existence. It is in the suffocating shadows of the Garden of Gethsemane that He 00:48:02.38\00:48:09.18 stands all alone. One of His closest friends is on the way to betray Him. Another even closer 00:48:09.18\00:48:13.59 disciple will deny Him in just moments from now. Jesus stands 00:48:13.59\00:48:17.99 alone. I suppose Jesus' eyes are the only ones that can pierce through that withering darkness 00:48:17.99\00:48:23.30 to see the leering, sneering face that He has known throughout eternity. 00:48:23.30\00:48:29.57 He sees Lucifer now, tall, but his flesh hanging as the fleshy hands of Lucifer reach out 00:48:29.57\00:48:37.18 through the shadows to grab Jesus to annihilation. Jesus 00:48:37.18\00:48:44.75 sees it all. And then Jesus speaks words I hope you will never forget. Please put them on 00:48:44.75\00:48:49.99 the screen. From the Gospel of Matthew, Jesus speaking. 00:48:50.03\00:48:52.73 Now, what we know about legions -- a legion of Roman 00:49:03.20\00:49:06.37 warriors is about 6,000. 00:49:06.37\00:49:08.94 So you've got 12 times that. You have 72,000 celestial warriors. 00:49:08.98\00:49:14.58 "Don't you understand? I say the word... 72,000 of my top 00:49:14.58\00:49:20.86 fighters will be right here in this space." Oh, I have good news for you. What the Son of 00:49:20.86\00:49:30.30 David just told us... is the secret to your victory... because the Son of David is 00:49:30.30\00:49:37.11 still the Son of David. They were born in the same town. They both became shepherds. 00:49:37.11\00:49:41.31 They both stood before the giantest giants of all the 00:49:41.31\00:49:46.35 universe. And they both won... in the name of their God, the God of angel armies. 00:49:46.35\00:49:52.32 You see that red fist going through -- going through -- through that brick? 00:49:52.32\00:49:56.46 Oh, I love that. Thank you, Brittany. Pow! 00:49:56.46\00:50:00.50 Do it again! Pow! That red fist is red because it 00:50:00.50\00:50:06.40 is the fist of calvary. It was on the cross just hours after Gethsemane that that red 00:50:06.40\00:50:11.27 fist, standing all alone -- By the way, all alone -- "My God, my God, why have you 00:50:11.27\00:50:15.98 forsaken me?" Because there are times when, in facing off with 00:50:15.98\00:50:20.48 your giant, God has to stand back. He cannot show you the 72,000, but you need to know 00:50:20.48\00:50:26.89 that 72,000 of the highest celestial warriors in the universe were ringing that 00:50:26.89\00:50:31.19 cross. You say, "How do you know, Dwight?" You know how I 00:50:31.19\00:50:34.20 know? Because He won -- that's why. He won. He wouldn't have 00:50:34.20\00:50:39.97 won had the God of angel armies not delivered Him, because He had to fight His giant the same 00:50:39.97\00:50:46.44 way you and I do. No fancy-dancy stuff. It's just raw faith. "Don't you know I could call 00:50:46.44\00:50:51.75 72,000 angels if I needed them?" You can, too. [ Imitates 00:50:51.75\00:50:59.32 explosion ] Red fist -- that's calvary.
