[ Organ plays ] 00:00:10.01\00:00:13.41 [ Congregation sings ] 00:00:23.69\00:00:30.13 >> Amen, and that is what we have come to do this morning, is 00:02:01.98\00:02:05.59 to worship the King. But I want you to turn to your 00:02:05.59\00:02:08.29 neighbor right now and ask him, "Have you heard?" 00:02:08.29\00:02:10.63 Okay, turn to your neighbor. "Have you heard?" 00:02:10.63\00:02:13.46 >> Have your heard? >> What, you don't know? 00:02:13.46\00:02:17.50 What, you don't know? Well, let me tell you. 00:02:17.50\00:02:20.50 Apparently, you guys are looking at each other wondering what you 00:02:20.50\00:02:23.64 haven't heard. So, here, I'm gonna tell you 00:02:23.64\00:02:25.84 about it. Every night this week, 00:02:25.84\00:02:29.94 our young people are telling the world about our God, our 00:02:29.94\00:02:34.88 King, and our Creator. Isn't that amazing? 00:02:34.88\00:02:39.02 Maybe you've seen it. It's this thing called The Tent, right over by Alumni House. 00:02:39.19\00:02:43.79 I watched it last night on Facebook, so if you're watching us right now and you want to 00:02:43.79\00:02:47.36 know what this is, you can go on Facebook. Or if you live right 00:02:47.36\00:02:51.53 here, go tonight and hear them at 5:00 and 7:00 talking about our King. Is there anything more 00:02:51.53\00:02:57.57 beautiful and more precious than these young Evangelists, Pastor 00:02:57.57\00:03:01.04 Dwight? There isn't. They are here to praise Him, and this morning, we joined their 00:03:01.04\00:03:06.78 voices in giving Him praise. We want God to come to this place and to our homes and to 00:03:06.78\00:03:14.39 our hearts. We want Him to fill us up with His goodness. 00:03:14.39\00:03:18.83 So let's invite Him into our hearts this morning. 00:03:18.83\00:03:23.90 [ Congregation sings ] 00:03:33.44\00:03:37.35 >> When you come under the care of the King, there isn't 00:08:12.55\00:08:17.39 anything that's outside of His reach to grant you. 00:08:17.39\00:08:24.00 He takes care of His people. He takes care of all of His 00:08:24.00\00:08:29.07 children. So when you're with Him, 00:08:29.07\00:08:33.44 you can have confidence that God will grant you your heart's 00:08:33.44\00:08:37.08 desire, that God will grant you your petition and your request 00:08:37.08\00:08:40.82 according to His will, because He's not going to give you 00:08:40.82\00:08:44.29 something that's not good for you. 00:08:44.29\00:08:47.39 And sometimes when He says no, praise the Lord! 00:08:47.39\00:08:51.89 Because He knew that something better is in store for you. 00:08:51.89\00:08:56.23 So, when we ask Him, we ask Him in sincerity, with authenticity, 00:08:56.23\00:09:01.54 and we know that He can grant us our desire and our petition. 00:09:01.54\00:09:06.14 So, this morning, if you have something that you need to give 00:09:06.14\00:09:09.34 to Him, we invite you right now to bring it forward. 00:09:09.34\00:09:13.05 You have some financial need, you have some need in your 00:09:13.05\00:09:16.02 marriage, you have some need in your family, you have some 00:09:16.02\00:09:19.09 health need -- We want you to come forward and 00:09:19.09\00:09:21.59 give that to Him and know that He will fulfill it for you. 00:09:21.59\00:09:24.66 But here's the other kind of thing that we can ask Him. 00:09:24.66\00:09:27.93 Maybe you are getting in your own way of reaching out to the 00:09:27.93\00:09:31.67 King. Maybe it's your pride. 00:09:31.67\00:09:36.04 Maybe it's your stubbornness. Maybe it's -- 00:09:36.04\00:09:39.14 You're clinging to something. You're idolizing something. 00:09:39.14\00:09:42.98 Why don't you decide to give that up this morning? 00:09:42.98\00:09:46.11 Come forward and say, "Lord, I need you more than I need this 00:09:46.11\00:09:51.39 thing that's getting in the way. Let's draw closer to Him and 00:09:51.39\00:09:55.19 know that He will answer every one of our requests. 00:09:55.19\00:09:57.79 Come forward as we pray this morning. 00:09:57.79\00:10:01.46 [ "Lord I Need You" plays ] 00:10:02.63\00:10:05.53 [ Congregation sings ] 00:10:19.78\00:10:25.19 >> Nice to see all of you today. Here's a question to start off 00:13:47.89\00:13:51.49 today's story. Thank you, story scouts for the stories you find. Here's the question -- 00:13:51.49\00:13:55.76 Anybody here been to a zoo? If you've been to a zoo -- Boy, that's pretty much all of 00:13:55.76\00:14:01.80 us. Okay, so, here's a story from Omaha, Nebraska. 00:14:01.80\00:14:05.97 Because Kymica and Justin, her husband -- they're just a young couple -- they're going to the 00:14:05.97\00:14:11.91 zoo today. She said, "I just want to go to the zoo one more 00:14:11.91\00:14:16.75 time," and so which animals do you think we should go to see 00:14:16.75\00:14:21.42 first? Which cage? How about the aquarium? Because this is the Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium. 00:14:21.42\00:14:26.63 So you can see the fishies plus the animals. "Well, I'll tell 00:14:26.63\00:14:30.97 you what," that's what her husband said. "Let's do this -- Let's ride the zoo train." 00:14:30.97\00:14:35.97 A lot of zoos have trains that go around the zoo, you can kind of see the lay of the land. 00:14:35.97\00:14:40.64 "Where are we gonna go first? Will it be the giraffes over 00:14:40.64\00:14:43.51 there? How about the rhinoceros over here?" So you just ride the 00:14:43.51\00:14:46.61 train and look. But! Uh-oh! 00:14:46.61\00:14:49.12 While they're on the train... While they're on the train... 00:14:49.12\00:14:57.16 "Ooh!" But she wasn't pointing at anything. "Ooh!" she said 00:14:57.16\00:15:01.00 again. Justin said, "Kymica, what are you doing? There's no 00:15:01.00\00:15:05.60 animals to even go "Ooh!" about." "Ooh!" she said. "Ooh!" 00:15:05.60\00:15:11.67 she said. She said, "Honey, we got to get off this train. We have to get to a -- Ooh! 00:15:11.67\00:15:18.58 [ Groaning ] We have to get to a hospital!" Because, you see, 00:15:18.58\00:15:22.55 Kymica was pregnant, getting ready for their very first baby. And it's not gonna be born till 00:15:22.55\00:15:27.52 the middle of May, and this was a couple week ago, so... Justin said, "Listen, girl, 00:15:27.52\00:15:31.69 you're gonna be fine. You'll be just fine. It's just a little 00:15:31.69\00:15:34.96 bit of an exaggeration here. Let's go see the cheetahs and you're gonna feel a lot better 00:15:34.96\00:15:38.53 when you see the cheetahs." But as soon as they got off the train, they only got about, oh, 00:15:38.53\00:15:43.30 a few steps away from the train station when she says, "I think 00:15:43.30\00:15:48.21 it's coming!" And -- [ Gasps ] -- Pop! [ Laughter ] Somebody's 00:15:48.21\00:15:52.88 head looked out! "Is this where I'm supposed to be? Nope, it's a 00:15:52.88\00:15:56.45 zoo. No, I'm going back in." Nope. She went down -- Kymica went down, her husband 00:15:56.45\00:16:03.89 grabbed her as they went down together, and pretty soon, people are stopping. 00:16:03.89\00:16:09.30 Pretty soon people are pulling out their cellphones. Pretty soon people are taking 00:16:09.30\00:16:13.13 videos. Because little Drea, 5 pounds, 5 ounces, was born 00:16:13.13\00:16:20.01 right there in a zoo! >> What? >> Yeah! 00:16:20.01\00:16:25.55 In Omaha, Nebraska! So wait till she grows up and people say, "Hey, where were you 00:16:25.55\00:16:29.85 born?" What can you say? You got to tell the truth! 00:16:29.85\00:16:38.89 Oh, but Justin didn't worry. He said, "Oh, this is beautiful! 00:16:38.89\00:16:43.03 This is beautiful! Now, what do I do next? Okay, okay, okay!" And little Drea -- D-R-E-A. 00:16:43.03\00:16:47.27 Little Drea Hubbard comes out. "Oh, this is our precious 00:16:47.27\00:16:52.24 daughter." He didn't care that the whole world was watching. 00:16:52.24\00:16:59.21 You know what? When they were talking with the reporters afterwards -- Let's see a 00:16:59.21\00:17:02.68 picture first. Let's see a picture. Let's see a picture of 00:17:02.68\00:17:05.15 little Drea. Oh, there she is in her mother's arms. Oh, now, 00:17:05.15\00:17:08.56 there she is. Oh, isn't she precious? When they were talking to the reporters afterwards, 00:17:08.56\00:17:12.63 they said, "Listen, how you gonna celebrate her birthday?" They said, "We're coming to the 00:17:12.63\00:17:16.50 zoo every single year to have her birthday party." And we're 00:17:16.50\00:17:21.17 giving her a new nickname. It's not just Drea. We're gonna call 00:17:21.17\00:17:24.67 her Pooh Bear. >> Aww! >> Aww! So, where were you born? 00:17:24.67\00:17:28.64 Go on, where were you born? Do you know? Do you know? Somebody very special was with 00:17:28.64\00:17:34.08 you. Somebody very special was with you when you were born. 00:17:34.08\00:17:36.89 Who's that someone special? >> Mommy! >> Oh! Your mother 00:17:36.89\00:17:41.16 happened to be there when you were born. Oh, my... Aren't you 00:17:41.16\00:17:47.66 lucky to have a mother like her? You know what, it's not easy 00:17:47.66\00:17:50.87 being a mom. Come on, I've watched the mothers around here. It's not easy being a mom. 00:17:50.87\00:17:54.34 Sometimes we act like we were born in a zoo. Sometimes we act 00:17:54.34\00:17:57.87 like we're born in a barn! That's what my dad used to say 00:17:57.87\00:18:00.31 about me. [ Laughter ] But you know what? Our mothers just keep 00:18:00.31\00:18:03.75 loving us. They never get tired. They never quit loving on us. Oh, and how Jesus loves mothers. 00:18:03.75\00:18:10.19 Do you know what? Jesus, when he's dying on the cross, he's 00:18:10.19\00:18:14.36 thinking about his mother. He's thinking about his mother. He 00:18:14.36\00:18:19.23 loved her so much. Do you love your mom? Oh, I know you do. We're gonna give you something 00:18:19.23\00:18:23.90 that you can take right back to your mom in just a moment, but first, I want a young boy to 00:18:23.90\00:18:28.77 pray, 'cause I had a little girl in the first service, so is there a boy here who would like 00:18:28.77\00:18:33.64 to thank Jesus for our mothers? A little boy. All right. We got 00:18:33.64\00:18:40.65 a lot of girls. Okay, Joshua, come here. All right. We're gonna pray with Joshua. 00:18:40.65\00:18:44.69 Thank you, Joshua. Bless you. And we're gonna thank Jesus for our wonderful, wonderful mothers 00:18:44.69\00:18:52.13 that we love so much. Will you close your eyes and will you 00:18:52.13\00:18:57.13 fold your hands as Joshua thanks Jesus? >> Yes, I am very thankful for my mommy, and I 00:18:57.13\00:19:06.44 thank God. I also am thankful for my dad. Very thankful. Amen! 00:19:06.44\00:19:14.62 >> Amen, Joshua. What a beautiful prayer. And you know what? This is what I want you to 00:19:14.62\00:19:20.09 do with your mother right now, okay? This is what I want you to 00:19:20.09\00:19:24.73 do. But before you do -- Joshua, this goes for you, too. Before you do, I want you to 00:19:24.73\00:19:29.46 pick up a beautiful flower for your mother. So there's gonna be 00:19:29.46\00:19:33.67 -- Let's see, we have Pastor Sharon, Pastor Sabine, we have 00:19:33.67\00:19:38.37 Claudia right over there. Don't go back to your chair without getting a flower for 00:19:38.37\00:19:42.78 your mommy! Get a flower for your mommy. Happy Mother's Day, 00:19:42.78\00:19:48.92 dear beloved mothers. 00:19:48.92\00:19:49.78 ¤¤ 00:19:53.02\00:19:56.42 Wow, that was beautiful. Thank you, Byron and students. And the concert that you're 00:22:20.04\00:22:25.64 having at the HPAC is Tuesday night. This group at 7:00. 00:22:25.64\00:22:28.74 We need to be out for that, as well. Let's pray together. 00:22:28.74\00:22:34.02 Oh, God, this is our father's world in the midst of all the craziness that life has become 00:22:34.02\00:22:43.26 on this planet. These colorful splashes are a reminder You 00:22:43.26\00:22:50.27 still reign supreme. There is nothing out of your purview, and 00:22:50.27\00:22:57.27 you are King. The music that just swept us heavenward, we bless Your name. We come to the 00:22:57.27\00:23:03.51 word of God now. We bless Your name. Let it be clear, we humbly pray in Jesus' name. 00:23:03.51\00:23:07.48 Amen. 00:23:07.48\00:23:09.48 You ever heard the expression, "Don't look a gift horse in the 00:23:09.65\00:23:14.36 mouth," you ever heard that? "Don't look a gift horse in the 00:23:14.36\00:23:18.13 mouth." Better yet, have you ever even 00:23:18.13\00:23:20.70 looked at a horse in the mouth? After today, you'll always be 00:23:20.70\00:23:24.20 able to say, "Yes, I have." I want you to take a look at a 00:23:24.20\00:23:27.07 horse's mouth. Man, what is wrong with that? 00:23:27.07\00:23:30.51 What a mouth! I love those teeth. Well, how about another 00:23:30.67\00:23:34.88 one? There's a guy that hasn't been to the dentist yet. But you 00:23:34.88\00:23:38.58 know what? Hey, come on, some of you English speakers, you know we talk about this is "long in 00:23:38.58\00:23:42.65 the tooth." "Long in the tooth" is actually from the horse. 00:23:42.65\00:23:45.42 That's how they measure a horse's age -- long teeth and 00:23:45.42\00:23:48.86 how many teeth. So they count them. But the point of the little proverb, "Never look a 00:23:48.86\00:23:52.33 gift horse in the mouth" is -- "Listen, don't be so particular 00:23:52.33\00:23:55.66 about your gift. You got a gift. Just be thankful you had a gift. If it's a horse, just take the 00:23:55.66\00:23:59.27 horse. Don't count the teeth. Don't look the horse in the 00:23:59.27\00:24:02.00 mouth." And that's great counsel. "Never look a gift 00:24:02.00\00:24:07.14 horse in the mouth." You ever heard this proverb? "Never look 00:24:07.14\00:24:13.05 a gift fish in the mouth." 00:24:13.05\00:24:14.45 Me, neither, but it's a great story, and I want to go to that 00:24:14.62\00:24:17.42 story with you right now. Open your Bible with me, please, 00:24:17.42\00:24:20.09 to the Gospel of Matthew 17. Let's go. 00:24:20.09\00:24:21.96 A short little story with a major, major point. 00:24:21.96\00:24:26.76 Matthew 17. You didn't bring a Bible, grab 00:24:26.76\00:24:29.10 the pew Bible in front of you. It's going to be page 662. 00:24:29.10\00:24:32.83 I think those of you watching live-stream right now are seeing 00:24:32.83\00:24:36.57 the title for this brand-new little miniseries called 00:24:36.57\00:24:39.87 "Nuclear Fishin'." Do you see it? 00:24:39.87\00:24:41.91 "Nuclear Fishin'." You have to be a chemist or a 00:24:41.91\00:24:44.41 physicist to get that. "Nuclear Fishin'." 00:24:44.41\00:24:46.92 We just did "Gone Fishin'." Four parts. 00:24:46.92\00:24:49.18 Now we're gonna do "Nuclear Fishin'." 00:24:49.18\00:24:51.19 Four parts. Some powerhouse stories that 00:24:51.19\00:24:53.32 still have fish in them. 00:24:53.32\00:24:55.22 So, we're going to go now -- No study guide, by the way. Those of you watching and those 00:24:55.39\00:24:59.73 of your here, as well, you're just gonna lock this away in your heart, I pray. 00:24:59.73\00:25:03.70 So, this is Matthew 17. You found Matthew 17? I'm in the 00:25:03.70\00:25:08.44 NIV. You got the pew Bible there. You got your own Bible. 00:25:08.44\00:25:11.17 Whatever. Let's go. Matthew 17:24. 00:25:11.17\00:25:13.64 Now, I need to tell you, Capernaum is the hometown of our big fisherman buddy named 00:25:17.85\00:25:23.08 Simon Peter. That's where he lived. That's home base. 00:25:23.08\00:25:26.82 In fact, I've been to the Capernaum, and the archaeologists will with great 00:25:26.82\00:25:30.83 credibility tell you, "We believe this foundation here is the foundation of Peter's 00:25:30.83\00:25:35.20 house." It's just been preserved. They have a special 00:25:35.20\00:25:39.03 roof over it to protect it, but that's where Peter was born, that's where he grew up, that's 00:25:39.03\00:25:44.57 his hometown. So, they're coming back to Peter's home base. 00:25:44.57\00:25:47.51 So, Verse 24. 00:25:47.94\00:25:49.84 Oh, and by the way, I need to tell you that that is now Jesus' 00:25:51.68\00:25:55.55 hometown. His hometown really is Nazareth, 00:25:55.55\00:25:58.32 but the people in Nazareth could never quite stomach the 00:25:58.32\00:26:01.92 immense popularity of their hometown boy, and for some 00:26:01.92\00:26:05.33 reason -- it's just absolutely ludicrous -- they would not 00:26:05.33\00:26:08.93 accept him. And so Jesus decides to change 00:26:08.93\00:26:12.03 his home address from Nazareth to Capernaum. 00:26:12.03\00:26:15.24 And it's his hometown. 00:26:15.24\00:26:17.24 Hit the pause button right there. 00:26:24.68\00:26:26.58 This is the old half-shekel. Half-shekel temple tax that 00:26:26.58\00:26:31.72 every Jew who's a male and who's over 20 years of age is required 00:26:31.72\00:26:38.06 to pay. Got to pay it. 00:26:38.06\00:26:40.80 You're a Jew, you're 20 or higher, you pay. 00:26:40.80\00:26:43.90 Now, it doesn't have the same kind of sacrosanct attachment 00:26:43.90\00:26:50.41 that tithing does. Oh, the Jews know about tithing, 00:26:50.41\00:26:54.01 as well. The whole world knows about 00:26:54.01\00:26:55.64 tithing now. That's a dynamite promise, by 00:26:55.64\00:26:58.11 the way, that's spread out for the people living in Jesus' day. 00:26:58.11\00:27:02.05 I'll put that -- Let's put Malachi 3:10 and just 00:27:02.05\00:27:05.69 remind us what that promise is. 00:27:05.69\00:27:07.62 That would be the Lord of Hosts. 00:27:14.46\00:27:16.36 The two-drachma temple tax is not tithe. 00:27:24.61\00:27:27.54 No, completely different. 00:27:27.54\00:27:29.78 Because in the tithe promise that God makes, note this -- In the tithe promise, God is not 00:27:29.94\00:27:34.88 promising this only to Jewish males 20 years or older. The tithe promise is to males 00:27:34.88\00:27:39.92 and females, Jews and gentiles. Black, white, yellow, red, brown -- it doesn't matter. 00:27:39.92\00:27:45.86 This is my promise to the human race. So when the tax collectors 00:27:45.86\00:27:50.73 come and they grab Peter, they say, "Yo!" They're not thinking 00:27:50.73\00:27:54.67 tithe. They're talking about the temple tribute, the temple tax. 00:27:54.67\00:27:58.44 Now, let's read the whole verse here, Verse 24. 00:27:58.61\00:28:02.48 "Yo, Pete!" And, by the way, the "your" is 00:28:08.02\00:28:11.75 plural. So they're singling Pete out, 00:28:11.75\00:28:13.99 but they're talking to all the boys hanging around. 00:28:13.99\00:28:16.96 Those would be the disciples. "Yo, Pete, doesn't your teacher 00:28:16.96\00:28:21.86 pay the temple tax? Oh, my. 00:28:21.86\00:28:27.14 What Peter does not know -- Bless his heart -- is that this 00:28:27.14\00:28:30.51 is an elaborate ruse to catch Peter off guard and trick him 00:28:30.51\00:28:33.88 into compromising Jesus. Because, you see, the 00:28:33.88\00:28:36.68 two-drachma temple tax, while it's required of all Jewish 00:28:36.68\00:28:40.22 males 20 years and older, the exceptions happen to be if 00:28:40.22\00:28:43.65 you're a priest or a Levite -- Obviously you work in the 00:28:43.65\00:28:47.12 temple, so why should you have to pay tax for where you're 00:28:47.12\00:28:50.66 working? Or you're a prophet, you work 00:28:50.66\00:28:52.59 for the Lord of the Temple. You don't have to pay. 00:28:52.59\00:28:56.23 Oh, very clever. A trap embedded in this trick 00:28:56.23\00:29:01.07 question -- "Doesn't your master pay the temple tax?" 00:29:01.07\00:29:04.61 Because if Peter says, "Why, of course he does." 00:29:04.61\00:29:07.58 Oops! Then they will crow that Jesus 00:29:07.58\00:29:09.91 obviously is not the prophet he's been saying he is and that 00:29:09.91\00:29:13.48 the people think is because, "Hey, prophets don't pay the 00:29:13.48\00:29:16.92 temple tax, and this guy does." But if Peter says, "Oh, no, are 00:29:16.92\00:29:20.06 you kidding? He doesn't pay that temple tax," 00:29:20.06\00:29:21.96 oh, they'd go hollering to everybody. 00:29:21.96\00:29:23.56 "Whoa! This Jesus of Nazareth, he's trying to tear down the 00:29:23.56\00:29:27.00 temple service." They've got Pete nailed whether 00:29:27.00\00:29:30.90 he says yes or whether he says no. 00:29:30.90\00:29:34.94 And, of course, Peter's a fisherman. 00:29:34.94\00:29:37.27 He's not really suave. Is it "suave?" 00:29:37.27\00:29:42.31 How do you pronounce it? Is it suave? Okay. 00:29:42.31\00:29:44.45 He's not really suave. He's not really suave when it 00:29:44.45\00:29:48.15 comes to the nuances of logic embedded in hastily thrown 00:29:48.15\00:29:52.12 questions in his face, and so Peter just blurts it out. 00:29:52.12\00:29:56.02 Oops! Yeah. 00:29:56.02\00:29:59.79 Peter goes into the house. Jesus is there to meet him. 00:29:59.79\00:30:03.83 Next verse, Verse 24. 00:30:03.83\00:30:06.13 Hit the pause button right there. 00:30:09.87\00:30:11.04 Please note, there's not gonna be any recrimination, there's 00:30:11.04\00:30:14.01 not gonna be any "Shame, shame, shame, shame, shame!" 00:30:14.01\00:30:16.68 There's no scolding, there's no raised voice. 00:30:16.68\00:30:20.62 Jesus says, "Hey, I just have a question for you." 00:30:20.62\00:30:23.08 "What's the question, master?" "What do you think, Simon?" 00:30:23.08\00:30:27.69 Jesus asked. 00:30:27.69\00:30:29.59 "Well, of course -- That's a very dumb question. 00:30:38.07\00:30:41.47 Do you think there's a king alive who would tax his own 00:30:41.47\00:30:43.87 child? Are you kidding? 00:30:43.87\00:30:45.21 It's gonna be from the others." Oops! He gets it. 00:30:45.21\00:30:50.05 He knows exactly what Jesus has just asked. 00:30:50.05\00:30:53.68 But Jesus says, "It's okay." Verse 27. 00:30:53.68\00:30:58.39 The end. That's the story. That's it. 00:31:12.60\00:31:16.20 The end. Wow. 00:31:16.20\00:31:23.55 But what about this little, uh, trap that the Pharisees set for 00:31:23.55\00:31:29.98 him? Our friend George Knight in his 00:31:29.98\00:31:32.55 wonderful little commentary on the Book of Matthew, it's called 00:31:32.55\00:31:36.06 the Amplifier Commentary. As only George can do, he sees 00:31:36.06\00:31:39.23 another angle to this, and I want to share his angle with you 00:31:39.23\00:31:42.56 on the screen. So just read his words there. 00:31:42.56\00:31:45.10 This is Dr. Knight commenting on this particular story, 00:31:45.10\00:31:48.74 Matthew 17. 00:31:48.74\00:31:51.01 In other words, it turns out to be the perfect response. They say, "How did Jesus know 00:31:57.05\00:32:02.98 that?" "Well, I know how he knew it, because he has an inside 00:32:02.98\00:32:06.59 track to the Father. He has a back door where he gets into Heaven and he gets all his 00:32:06.59\00:32:10.16 instructions." Wrong, wrong, wrong, wrong, wrong. 00:32:10.16\00:32:12.36 You know the only way Jesus knew it? Jesus will say to his 00:32:12.36\00:32:15.83 disciples in Luke 12:11-12, he'll say, "Listen, when you get hauled off to court, don't worry 00:32:15.83\00:32:21.40 about what you're gonna say. Please. Don't worry. Don't panic because -- I love it 00:32:21.40\00:32:25.81 in the New Living Translation -- because it will be given to you. By the spirit of my father, it 00:32:25.81\00:32:31.48 will be given to you." This is NLT. "While you are standing 00:32:31.48\00:32:37.19 there, you'll get it. Just say what I give you." Jesus had no 00:32:37.19\00:32:42.96 inside -- "Well, I'll do this -- I'll pull this little fish 00:32:42.96\00:32:45.79 trick." No. Obviously the spirit just said... And Jesus said... 00:32:45.79\00:32:50.67 So George Knight here... 00:32:51.23\00:32:53.13 Good for you, Jesus! 00:32:57.11\00:32:59.01 How do you do that? Number two! Here it comes. 00:33:11.82\00:33:15.29 Only George could find this. 00:33:17.29\00:33:19.19 Hold on there. Just hit pause right here. 00:33:24.70\00:33:26.77 "Keep his mouth shut." I remind you, this is one time, 00:33:26.77\00:33:29.57 and somebody -- Where is this? 00:33:29.57\00:33:31.17 Somebody came after first service and slid this under the 00:33:31.17\00:33:33.88 door, having heard this teaching. 00:33:33.88\00:33:35.61 They said, "Hey, listen, Dwight, you're gonna need this," and 00:33:35.61\00:33:38.11 they didn't put a name on it. Listen, this is one time -- 00:33:38.11\00:33:40.95 True story. This is one time where Peter 00:33:40.95\00:33:43.52 could go fishing and be absolutely certain he's gonna 00:33:43.52\00:33:46.39 catch something today. [ Laughter ] 00:33:46.39\00:33:48.42 'Cause Jesus said, "You're gonna catch something. 00:33:48.42\00:33:50.16 The first you catch, open its mouth -- Boom! 00:33:50.16\00:33:52.43 Go pay our taxes." Wow. 00:33:52.43\00:33:55.93 So, reading George again. 00:33:55.93\00:33:57.83 ¤ Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha! ¤ Where do you think I got this, 00:34:03.10\00:34:05.71 guys? Where do you think? 00:34:05.71\00:34:06.78 I'll give you five guesses and the first six don't count! 00:34:06.78\00:34:10.75 You think Peter's gonna be silent about this? 00:34:10.75\00:34:13.52 No, he's gonna say, "He doesn't have to pay the taxes." 00:34:13.52\00:34:16.42 Oops! "You know where he got his 00:34:16.42\00:34:18.72 money? You're not gonna believe this." 00:34:18.72\00:34:22.06 Of course he told everybody he met. 00:34:22.06\00:34:24.63 George says, "Even he told the tax collectors." 00:34:24.63\00:34:26.80 I think he probably did. Keep reading. 00:34:26.80\00:34:31.17 Jesus really is a prophet and he doesn't have to pay the tax. 00:34:35.10\00:34:38.84 Made them both disappear. Now, third... 00:34:38.84\00:34:42.34 Well, whose money was it? It's the fish's money, 00:34:47.05\00:34:49.12 of course! The money belonged to the fish. 00:34:49.12\00:34:53.12 Got it. Oh, good for you, Jesus. 00:34:53.12\00:34:57.86 Good for you. And, by the way, it was good for 00:34:57.86\00:35:00.56 Jesus. Because Jesus is modeling 00:35:00.56\00:35:03.97 something for you and me to get. To get, to get, to get. 00:35:03.97\00:35:07.14 This about this -- Avoid confrontation if you can 00:35:07.14\00:35:12.47 do so without compromising truth. 00:35:12.47\00:35:16.48 Don't pick a fight. Turn the other cheek. 00:35:16.48\00:35:20.05 Walk the extra mile. Don't do it! 00:35:20.05\00:35:23.32 I'm the exact opposite. In this day and age, when 00:35:23.32\00:35:26.19 everyone has the inalienable right to display their ignorance 00:35:26.19\00:35:29.62 through what they post online... In this day and age, I must 00:35:29.62\00:35:34.30 admit, I struggle with not being like Jesus in this instance 00:35:34.30\00:35:38.17 because every now and then, I get an e-mail from Peter. 00:35:38.17\00:35:40.94 You ever get one of those e-mails where the writer has 00:35:40.94\00:35:44.31 obviously written before even thinking? 00:35:44.31\00:35:46.88 I get those e-mails... [ Exhales sharply ] 00:35:46.88\00:35:50.61 My first response is to fire a two megaton e-mail back and nuke 00:35:50.61\00:35:54.35 that vacuous criticism and criticizer. 00:35:54.35\00:35:56.79 One stone, two birds. Yeah, I'm embarrassed to tell 00:35:56.79\00:36:01.79 you that. So, when I watch Jesus here 00:36:01.79\00:36:04.53 totally disregard his critics... He could have jumped up and 00:36:04.53\00:36:07.60 said, "No, no, no, no." Totally disregard his critics, 00:36:07.60\00:36:10.80 and keep calm with his own disciples who have muffed a 00:36:10.80\00:36:14.54 beautiful moment that they could have testified to, but no. 00:36:14.54\00:36:18.54 All Jesus does is he just complies. 00:36:18.54\00:36:23.08 I want to learn something. I want to tear a page out of his 00:36:23.08\00:36:25.38 playbook, don't you? Yeah. 00:36:25.38\00:36:29.68 Avoid confrontation if you can do so without compromising 00:36:29.68\00:36:32.65 truth. Hey, this is from 00:36:32.65\00:36:33.86 Desire of Ages, and it nails it on the head, this very point. 00:36:33.86\00:36:36.09 The words on the screen -- 00:36:36.09\00:36:37.99 "I don't have to do this." 00:36:44.83\00:36:46.74 Someday we're gonna remember this line because it's very 00:36:52.31\00:36:55.58 important. Don't get the established order 00:36:55.58\00:36:58.15 all agitated by the way you fight back. 00:36:58.15\00:37:00.62 Just keep your mouth shut. 00:37:00.62\00:37:05.05 Let it go! Come on. That e-mail writer, the person 00:37:18.33\00:37:21.14 who calls, the individual who drops by your place and offers 00:37:21.14\00:37:24.41 you a piece of her mind or his mind, just let it go. 00:37:24.41\00:37:27.31 Take the high road. You know you're right anyway. 00:37:27.31\00:37:32.18 "But, Dwight, what if they're right and I'm wrong?" 00:37:32.18\00:37:34.92 Well, then, take it and then let it go. 00:37:34.92\00:37:36.85 Get on! Get over it! 00:37:36.85\00:37:40.92 One short little story. It paints a beautiful and 00:37:41.66\00:37:47.30 powerful picture of our Lord Jesus. 00:37:47.30\00:37:50.33 I want to share three musings with you from this story, and 00:37:50.33\00:37:52.43 then I'll sit down. Three musings. 00:37:52.43\00:37:54.07 You don't have a study guide? I'll put them on the screen for 00:37:54.07\00:37:55.80 you. 00:37:55.80\00:37:57.21 Have you noticed that? "Yo, Pete, throw your line into the 00:38:02.44\00:38:06.21 lake. The first fish you catch, open its mouth, pull the coin out, and go and pay my tax." 00:38:06.21\00:38:11.85 By the way, this is the only place in the New Testament -- Did I already mention this? 00:38:11.85\00:38:15.02 This is the only place in the New Testament where fishing by 00:38:15.02\00:38:20.70 line is shown. Everywhere else, how do they fish? Everywhere 00:38:20.70\00:38:22.43 else! Come on, we just finished "Gone Fishin'." Everywhere else, 00:38:22.43\00:38:25.03 they pull the net in! I'm making you fish for people 'cause I want lots of people, 00:38:25.03\00:38:28.77 not just one. I want lots. 00:38:28.77\00:38:31.04 This is the only time a line, and I'm assuming a hook, is 00:38:31.21\00:38:35.54 mentioned. "So, go throw that line in, 00:38:35.54\00:38:38.35 Peter! First fish you get, open the 00:38:38.35\00:38:40.88 mouth, pull that four drachmas coin out, go pay my tax and 00:38:40.88\00:38:44.72 yours. 00:38:44.72\00:38:48.72 You know what Peter does? He said, "Amen! I got it, Lord. 00:38:48.89\00:38:54.36 I'll go do it." And that's exactly what he does. He throws his line in, pulls the fish out, 00:38:54.36\00:38:59.40 pulls out the tax, and pays Jesus' tax and his own. Never forget. Never forget that Christ 00:38:59.40\00:39:05.57 of Creation is the Jesus of the Gospels. He's the creator of the 00:39:05.57\00:39:11.95 universe. So, when Jesus cries out, "Let there be light," in 00:39:11.95\00:39:16.35 half a nanosecond, before the words even left his lips... In half a nanosecond, that word 00:39:16.35\00:39:21.12 instantly creates the reality it describes. Ever heard that 00:39:21.12\00:39:26.19 before? Boom! Because when he says, "Let there be light," what's the next split 00:39:26.19\00:39:29.40 second? What happens? There is light. 00:39:29.40\00:39:32.67 His word, he just speaks it. Look at Psalm 33. 00:39:32.83\00:39:35.27 Jot these three verses down. If you've never gotten these 00:39:35.27\00:39:38.17 before, never forget them for the rest of your life. 00:39:38.17\00:39:40.84 Psalm 33:6 and 33:9. 00:39:40.84\00:39:42.74 That's how powerful it is. Don't forget to jot down 00:39:53.62\00:39:55.92 Isaiah 55:11. Keep your pen moving. 00:39:55.92\00:39:58.36 Isaiah 55:11. 00:39:58.36\00:40:00.26 When I speak it, it will happen. That's why Jesus in John 6:63, 00:40:08.20\00:40:13.68 Jesus says... "It's all in the word. I speak it to you." Say Amen to the word of Christ 00:40:18.51\00:40:24.69 as Peter did. "Amen! I'll go do it." And it will be. 00:40:24.69\00:40:30.16 He spoke it into reality. Wow. I shared my testimony last fall 00:40:30.16\00:40:36.80 when we were doing a series called "#RXF4NOW." Righteousness 00:40:36.80\00:40:42.34 by Faith For Now. And you remember in the opening message, I told you about my struggle 00:40:42.34\00:40:47.54 with fear, my personal struggle with fear. Multiple fears. Garden variety of fears that 00:40:47.54\00:40:51.38 I've lived with all my life. And I was thinking about it one Sunday, you remember that, in 00:40:51.38\00:40:55.58 August, when God speaks to me, as I'm thinking about my fears and I'm thinking about this 00:40:55.58\00:40:59.35 great principle, and God says, "Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid." 00:40:59.35\00:41:03.22 And in that split second, I knew that God had taken those fears 00:41:03.22\00:41:06.96 away. I just knew it. Now, a lot of you heard that story, and you 00:41:06.96\00:41:10.07 said, "Yeah, well, that's just Dwight. He's kind of a weird guy anyway, so something like that 00:41:10.07\00:41:13.47 could happen to him." I got an e-mail this week, and I want to 00:41:13.47\00:41:19.11 read it to you. This is one of the e-mails that you don't nuke. This is the one that brings 00:41:19.11\00:41:22.81 tears to your eyes and you hold it to your chest and you say, "Dear, Jesus, this was all you. 00:41:22.81\00:41:26.98 How do you do things like this?" So, I got an e-mail from one of our worshippers this week. 00:41:26.98\00:41:34.39 Young husband, young father, attending the university. He said, "Dear Pastor Nelson, 00:41:34.39\00:41:41.10 yada-yada-yada-yada-yada-yada- yada-yada-yada-yada-yada-yada... Oh, by the way, I don't know if 00:41:41.10\00:41:44.73 you intended it this way..." I thought this was -- Praise God. 00:41:44.73\00:41:47.60 "I don't know if you intended it this way, but those three series, "#RXF4NOW" followed by 00:41:47.60\00:41:51.91 "Storm," and then followed by "Gone Fishin'," those three series have been like a 00:41:51.91\00:41:56.21 carefully laid pathway to spiritual revival and renewal." 00:41:56.21\00:42:00.82 And you know what? It never occurred to me at all. So, the Holy Spirit said, "Dwight, I 00:42:00.82\00:42:07.19 don't have to tell you what I'm doing." So I say "Praise God." Now, here it comes. 00:42:07.19\00:42:10.13 One personal anecdote -- I confess -- Okay, confession is good for the soul -- "I confess 00:42:10.13\00:42:14.73 that I didn't get the whole "omnipotent word of God" thing the first time you shared it, 00:42:14.73\00:42:18.87 but you continued to preach it, and then after re-watching your sermon entitled "Believe"..." 00:42:18.87\00:42:23.24 That would be the first one in last fall's series. "...something clicked." 00:42:23.24\00:42:26.84 One day -- here it comes -- One day as I was walking home from class, I was thinking about 00:42:26.84\00:42:31.38 that sermon and telling God how frustrated I was in my struggle against selfishness and the 00:42:31.38\00:42:36.69 negative impact it was having on my family, just a few steps from 00:42:36.69\00:42:42.49 home, the words of Galatians 2:20 popped into my head. 00:42:42.49\00:42:46.80 Galatians 2:20. "I am crucified with Christ. Nevertheless, I live, yet not I, but Christ 00:42:46.80\00:42:51.43 lives..." -- where? "...in me, and the life I live, I live by the faith of the son of God who 00:42:51.43\00:42:56.64 loved me and gave Himself for me." That verse, just -- Boom! And listen to this now -- 00:42:56.64\00:43:01.68 Not me talking. This person. "In that moment, something changed." 00:43:01.68\00:43:10.39 In that moment... ...something changed. 00:43:10.39\00:43:13.79 Hey, buddy. I know exactly how you feel. 00:43:13.96\00:43:16.42 That's exactly what happened to me. 00:43:16.42\00:43:18.59 "In that moment, something changed. 00:43:18.59\00:43:20.56 I believed it, and God has given me the upper hand in the battle 00:43:20.56\00:43:23.80 with selfishness. There are still days..." 00:43:23.80\00:43:26.07 Important caveat. "...when I struggle, but I now 00:43:26.07\00:43:28.60 know that I am no longer a slave to selfishness, and I can't tell 00:43:28.60\00:43:31.91 you how much that means to me and my family. 00:43:31.91\00:43:34.28 Praise God!" Amen. 00:43:34.28\00:43:40.55 Musing #1. How did it go? Put it on the screen for us 00:43:40.55\00:43:43.82 again, please. Musing #1. 00:43:43.82\00:43:46.39 Here comes Musing #2. There are only three of these, and then 00:43:49.26\00:43:51.56 I'm sitting down. Here comes #2. 00:43:51.56\00:43:53.46 "Yo, Pete! Go to the lake! Drop in that line! Get the first fish 00:44:00.34\00:44:04.87 you catch. Open its mouth, and I want you pull the coin out. It'll be four drachma. 00:44:04.87\00:44:09.28 And I want you to pay my tax and yours." Wow. 00:44:09.28\00:44:16.12 Peter hasn't even asked! God is meeting a need that Peter has, but he's never even asked 00:44:16.12\00:44:21.49 God about that need. Can you believe this? Even if you never 00:44:21.49\00:44:28.33 ask God, He still knows your need. You don't have to ask Him. That's why Jesus and the mighty 00:44:28.33\00:44:35.34 Sermon on the Mount -- Just a few pages earlier. I do wish 00:44:35.34\00:44:38.37 that you would see this in your own Bible. Go back to Matthew 6. All red letters in Matthew 6 00:44:38.37\00:44:41.88 because it's in the middle of the Sermon on the Mount. Drop down Matthew 6 to Verse 31, 00:44:41.88\00:44:47.38 Jesus speaking -- See, this is the point Jesus is making, Verse 00:44:47.38\00:44:51.02 31. Don't worry, be happy. 00:44:52.09\00:44:54.49 They don't know how they're gonna get them yet, so they just 00:45:04.53\00:45:06.67 are panicked by it. But your Heavenly Father knows 00:45:06.67\00:45:08.84 what? What does your Heavenly Father 00:45:08.84\00:45:10.64 already know? He knows even if you never ask 00:45:10.64\00:45:13.71 Him, He already knows -- Your Heavenly Father already 00:45:13.71\00:45:17.81 knows that you need them. 00:45:17.81\00:45:21.92 Jesus says, "Your Heavenly Father knows." 00:45:26.55\00:45:31.23 That's why you can see in Verse 33, just wrap it up here 00:45:31.23\00:45:34.23 in Verse 33... 00:45:34.23\00:45:36.13 Given what I've just told you... 00:45:37.70\00:45:39.60 Make God and his Kingdom numero uno priority in your life. 00:45:50.28\00:45:54.25 Make it the numero uno priority in your life, and I'm telling you, all that you want -- 00:45:54.25\00:45:59.45 Oh, no, He didn't say all that you want, did He? What did He 00:45:59.45\00:46:03.76 say? All that you... What'd He say? Need! All that you need, 00:46:03.76\00:46:09.50 you can count on Him to come through for you. Just say "Amen!" Right now, some of you 00:46:09.50\00:46:14.67 are going through an immense time of need. Personal, private -- Nobody else but God knows. 00:46:14.67\00:46:18.84 I need you to know that you can put your finger right on these words that we just read, and you 00:46:18.84\00:46:23.61 say to God, I am seeking first Your kingdom and Your 00:46:23.61\00:46:27.85 righteousness. I am pleading with You, God. Meet the needs I have! Meet the needs of my 00:46:27.85\00:46:32.69 little family! Meet the needs of my career! Meet the needs of my 00:46:32.69\00:46:39.63 banking account. I'm just asking you. I'm not asking for my 00:46:39.63\00:46:44.77 wants. I'm just asking for my needs." You point your finger, you say "Amen!" to that, you got 00:46:44.77\00:46:51.24 it! It may not come at this split-second. You let God bring 00:46:51.24\00:46:54.64 it to you. You'll get it. You say, "Dwight, you can't prove 00:46:54.64\00:46:57.31 that." I sure can. David, Psalm 37. 00:46:57.31\00:47:00.25 Put it on the screen. Verse 25. 00:47:00.42\00:47:03.42 I've never seen them go hungry. Oh, their cupboards can get awfully scarce, but I've never 00:47:14.60\00:47:21.10 seen them go hungry. Ever. And I'm an old man now. 00:47:21.10\00:47:26.17 But I have seen God take care. Oh, my. "So, seek first, my 00:47:26.17\00:47:44.33 Kingdom and my Righteousness, and all these things that you need will be added to you." 00:47:44.33\00:47:52.60 I love the seven-word credo. Do you still remember the 00:47:52.77\00:47:55.40 seven-word credo? Let's not ever forget it. 00:47:55.40\00:47:57.01 Together, you and I, we'll remember it as long as we live. 00:47:57.01\00:47:59.11 Hebrews 2:13. It's only seven words long. 00:47:59.11\00:48:01.28 It goes like this. 00:48:01.28\00:48:03.18 That's how Jesus lived. "I'll put my trust in Him." I'll count 00:48:09.38\00:48:15.32 on Him. I will trust Him. "So, seek first His Kingdom and His Righteousness, and all that 00:48:15.32\00:48:20.03 you need, all that you need will be given, will be added to you." 00:48:20.03\00:48:23.77 And guess what? When you tithe -- No kidding -- When you tithe, that's exactly what you're 00:48:23.77\00:48:27.44 saying. When you fill out that little tithe envelope and you drop it in an offering plate, 00:48:27.44\00:48:31.91 you are saying, "God, I will put my trust in You." Because let's 00:48:31.91\00:48:35.38 be honest. Can we just be honest about this? There are times -- 00:48:35.38\00:48:38.68 Come on, I know -- There are times when having that little 10%... If we could just have 00:48:38.68\00:48:43.79 it... "Because of my debts, because of my expenses... Okay, okay, because of my wants 00:48:43.79\00:48:48.92 once in a while, would it be all right if I just keep this, your 00:48:48.92\00:48:55.16 10% for me?" He said, "No, no, no, no, no. Seven-word credo." I will put my trust in Him. 00:48:55.16\00:49:00.97 That's how Jesus lived, Hebrews 2:13. I'm asking you to live the 00:49:00.97\00:49:04.84 same. I'll take care of you! I promise you! I promise you, I 00:49:04.84\00:49:09.91 will take care of you. And can you believe the promise? 00:49:09.91\00:49:13.21 Put it up one more time. We saw it a little bit earlier, 00:49:13.38\00:49:15.48 Malachi 3:10. 00:49:15.48\00:49:16.89 You declare "Amen!" every time you put that little tithe envelope -- You pull the tithe 00:49:28.36\00:49:32.07 aside, you say, "I'm giving this back to God." Every time you do 00:49:32.07\00:49:35.67 and you put that down, you say, "God, this is yours," you say, "Amen!" Those floodgates -- 00:49:35.67\00:49:40.28 Amen! Open the floodgates for me. Take care of me, please. I'm 00:49:40.28\00:49:45.05 asking you. Please take care of me. "Seek first my Kingdom." You 00:49:45.05\00:49:51.05 got it. I'll put my trust in Him. Hey, you just watch. You'll 00:49:51.05\00:49:54.06 see. Okay, there are three of these. What's #1 again? On the 00:49:54.06\00:49:57.49 screen. Musing #1. Here comes Musing #2. 00:50:00.70\00:50:02.73 And finally, here comes #3. Musing #3. 00:50:07.84\00:50:11.17 Because I remind you, the hand that plops the coin in the open fish's mouth, the hand that 00:50:23.32\00:50:30.39 plops the coin is a nail-scarred hand. Nail-scarred. 00:50:30.39\00:50:35.83 And if he can drop a coin in a fishy's mouth and have you catch it in order to provide for your 00:50:35.83\00:50:40.64 needs, is there anything in the future worth fretting about? 00:50:40.64\00:50:44.27 Come on. Is there anything He can't do? There is nothing He cannot do. Except force you to 00:50:44.27\00:50:53.21 believe in Him. Just can't do that one. "I will put my trust 00:50:53.21\00:50:56.95 in Him" has to come from you, not Him. And if He loves you that much -- So, here's the 00:50:56.95\00:51:03.36 deal. If He loves you that much, what in the future is worth 00:51:03.36\00:51:10.40 fretting over now? Robert Farrar Capon is his book, "The Third Peacock: The Problem 00:51:10.57\00:51:13.97 of God and Evil," describes -- I'll put his words on the 00:51:13.97\00:51:16.97 screen. This little phrase, I 00:51:16.97\00:51:18.74 think is dynamite. He describes... 00:51:18.74\00:51:21.71 Let me repeat that. 00:51:26.01\00:51:27.92 The cross is immutable proof that the hand that was nailed 00:51:33.86\00:51:39.09 for you and me not only manages the past, not only manages the 00:51:39.09\00:51:43.67 present, but also manages the future. 00:51:43.67\00:51:46.63 Before you and I ever get there, the nail-scarred hand has been 00:51:46.63\00:51:51.31 there, and He will take care of you. 00:51:51.31\00:51:54.24 Whatever is in your future, He will take care of you. 00:51:54.24\00:51:58.68 You have nothing to fear. Don't worry. 00:51:58.68\00:52:04.05 Don't be afraid. Wow. 00:52:04.05\00:52:08.39 God will surely take care of you and me, no matter what comes 00:52:08.39\00:52:12.46 next. Hey, hey, hey, hey. 00:52:12.46\00:52:14.40 No matter what doesn't come next. 00:52:14.40\00:52:17.73 Some of you are wanting something to come so bad, you 00:52:17.73\00:52:20.70 can taste it. No matter what doesn't come 00:52:20.70\00:52:23.10 next... You can trust Him. 00:52:23.10\00:52:26.78 You can trust Him. On this Mother's Day, I think of 00:52:26.78\00:52:31.78 my beloved mother that we buried back in January, and I remember 00:52:31.78\00:52:36.89 a song she and my dad used to love to hum and sing to. 00:52:36.89\00:52:41.29 They put on that old record, that recording. 00:52:41.29\00:52:45.03 It's a group of male voices. And it's an old hymn, but I 00:52:45.03\00:52:49.46 remember that hymn in that tiny little Japanese house on that 00:52:49.46\00:52:54.10 ancient old stereo that my dad was so proud of. 00:52:54.10\00:52:57.81 I remember that hymn just wafting through the air of our 00:52:57.81\00:53:01.44 little home, and my mother singing to it in the kitchen. 00:53:01.44\00:53:08.58 You might have heard this hymn. I don't know. 00:53:08.58\00:53:11.12 I'd love to be able to sing it to you. 00:53:11.12\00:53:15.22 ¤ Be not dismayed whate'er betide ¤ 00:53:15.22\00:53:23.00 ¤ God will take care of you! ¤ ¤ Beneath His wings of love 00:53:23.00\00:53:36.28 abide ¤ ¤ God will take care of you! ¤ 00:53:36.28\00:53:46.42 ¤ God will take care of you ¤ ¤ Through every day 00:53:46.42\00:53:58.67 o'er all the way ¤ ¤ He will take care of you ¤ 00:53:58.67\00:54:12.95 ¤ God will take care of you! ¤ 00:54:12.95\00:54:20.86 A short little story about Jesus and Peter and you and me 00:54:24.23\00:54:30.63 and the incredible promise.
