00:10 Dear Father, as you know well,
00:12 not many of us are farmers, most of us are city slickers, 00:17 which means we're not that familiar 00:18 with that sweet little domesticated creature 00:21 you chose for the rest of forever 00:25 to represent You and Your sacrifice. 00:29 Nevertheless we come today to worship the Lamb 00:33 and with that choir of ten thousand times 00:35 ten thousand and thousands of thousands, 00:37 we too will sing their anthem, 00:40 "Worthy is the Lamb, who was slain, 00:42 to receive power and riches and wisdom and strength 00:45 and honor and glory and blessing." 00:47 With all our hearts oh, God, 00:50 we joyfully confess that Christ Jesus is our Lord 00:55 and our Lamb and our Savior forever and ever. 01:00 Amen. the risen king 21:26 Beautiful. 21:28 Thank you. 21:29 Hector Flores and Andrews Academy. 21:32 Symphony, orchestra that was beautiful. 21:35 What a fellowship, what a joy and divine, 21:38 leaning on the everlasting arms. 21:42 So we've come to do today, Stuart, just talk to him 21:45 and let's plunge into the word together. 21:47 Oh God, it was arms. 21:49 What's that line in Deuteronomy, underneath, 21:53 underneath are the everlasting arms, 21:55 we lean on those arms. 21:57 Where will we be? 21:58 Would we even be here were it not for your strong arms. 22:03 As we do just that plunge into scripture, 22:05 let the teaching be clear. 22:06 Let us not be quite the same again 22:09 for having worshipped here today, we pray in Christ name. 22:13 Amen. 22:15 Would you agree with this? 22:18 Most everybody who lives on this planet has an address. 22:24 If I were to ask you where do you live, 22:25 you would respond in Berrien Springs 22:29 or in LA or in Pretoria. 22:35 Most every human being has an address. 22:37 But listen, there are some people, no kidding. 22:40 There are some people who have two addresses and get this, 22:44 they live in both addresses simultaneously. 22:49 Go figure. 22:50 Open the pew Bible to Ephesians 1, 22:52 take a look at this, Ephesians 1. 22:55 Let's go. 22:56 I'm in the New International Version this morning. 22:58 Whatever translation you have 23:00 that's as great that you have one, 23:01 don't have one, pull out the pew Bible. 23:03 It's page 786 in the pew Bible. 23:06 Ephesians 1:1. 23:08 "Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus 23:11 by the will of God, 23:13 to God's holy people in Ephesus, 23:17 the faithful in Christ Jesus." 23:19 Paul is quite clear 23:21 that Christians that he is writing to 23:23 they live in two places at once, 23:25 in Ephesus and in Christ. 23:28 Every Christian has both addresses, 23:33 a human address and a divine address. 23:37 And it's the in Christ address, 23:40 the divine address 23:41 that captures our attention this morning. 23:44 There's something compelling about that phrase, 23:46 I would dare to say that it stands 23:49 among the three most stunning truths in all of scripture, 23:54 that this truth is critical for Paul. 23:56 I'll tell you what? 23:57 He uses this phrase over 200 times, 23:59 this phrase or its cognates, in Christ, in Him, 24:02 through Christ, through Him, 24:04 and for our little series 24:06 #RxF4Now. 24:12 Have you figured it out yet? 24:14 For our series this is absolutely a very big deal, 24:18 so without further ado let's go to our passage 24:20 for this morning 2 Corinthians 5, 24:24 2 Corinthians 5. 24:25 So you're in Ephesians, just go back to Galatians 24:27 and then you're into 2 Corinthians, 2 Corinthians. 24:32 2 Corinthians 5. 24:38 Let's pick it up verse 14, 24:39 "For Christ's love compels us, 24:43 because we are convinced that one died for all, 24:46 and therefore what? 24:49 All died." 24:53 I don't know if you've read the Steve Green concert 24:55 on Sunday night, but if you were, 24:57 you know what an experience. 24:59 I mean, that was worship maxed out. 25:01 And he sang his signature song. 25:04 Calvary's love, Calvary's love 25:06 Priceless gift Christ makes us worthy of The deepest sin 25:10 can't rise above Calvary's love Paul is singing right now, 25:15 for the love of Christ compels us. 25:19 It's very interesting that little word compels. 25:22 It's one of Dr Luke's prime words, 25:25 he uses it in Luke and in Acts. 25:27 You remember the story about the woman with a hemorrhage? 25:30 Woman who's been bleeding for like 12 years, 25:31 you remember that story? 25:33 And she says, she hears, 25:34 Jesus is coming to our little village, 25:36 He's coming today. 25:37 So she's going to be out there, 25:38 she's going to ask Him to heal her 25:40 but when she goes to where she expects Him, 25:42 there is this massive crowd swirling around him. 25:46 I'll never get in audience with Him. 25:48 And so what does she do? 25:49 She's down on her hands and knees, I picture, 25:50 she's going through the... 25:52 she's going through the legs, through the legs, 25:53 if I can just touch the what? 25:55 The helm of His garment, if I can just touch that, 25:58 I'll be healed. 26:01 Now you know the story. 26:03 Jesus stops, everybody jostles Him 26:07 and Jesus turns around and He says rather calmly, 26:10 who touched me? 26:12 And Peter only in Luke, 26:13 Peter pipes up as he always does. 26:16 Okay, Lord, let's find out. 26:17 Eeny, meeny, miny, moe, okay, who touched Jesus? 26:19 Put your hand up, admit it. 26:21 No, no, no, somebody touched me, 26:23 I felt power go out of me. 26:25 The word to describe that throttling, 26:28 that choking pressing crowd is the same word right here. 26:33 For the love of Christ throttles us, 26:35 for the love of Christ crushes us, it surrounds us, 26:38 you can't get away. 26:41 It reminds me of the story of the Marine Corps General 26:43 Chesty Puller, in the battle of the Bulge. 26:46 Do you ever hear about the battle of the Bulge? 26:47 That would be World War II. 26:49 His troops, the allied troops are surrounded by the enemy. 26:53 He gets up to make the announcement, 26:54 "Soldiers, the enemy is in front of us. 26:58 The enemy is behind us. 27:00 The enemy is to our right. 27:02 The enemy is to our left. 27:04 I have good news for you, 27:05 they're not gonna get away from us this time. 27:10 Calvary's love in front of you, 27:12 behind you, to the right and left, 27:13 you can't get away from Calvary's love this time. 27:17 Read it again verse 14, "For Christ's love compels us, 27:21 because we are convinced that one died for all, 27:24 and therefore all died." 27:27 Did you get that? 27:28 When Jesus died on the cross, all the entire world, 27:32 all died in Him, in Him. 27:36 One died for all, the entire human race and all died in Him. 27:40 Christ took every sin of yours and mine. 27:43 He took every sinner and all died in Him, in Him. 27:48 Drop down to verse 17. 27:50 You might have read this verse before, verse 17, 27:52 "Therefore, if anyone is..." 27:55 What are the next two words? 27:56 Over 200 times, Paul is going to use that. 27:58 This is his key, numero uno phrase, 28:00 if anyone is in Christ, any man, any woman, 28:03 any young adult, any teenager, any child, 28:05 "If anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come, 28:10 The old has gone, and the new is here!" 28:14 Whatever this in Christ means, 28:16 it is crystal clear that when you're in Christ, 28:19 you become a new creation. 28:23 Reminds me of that grand truth that launched this little 28:25 #RxF4Now series, 28:29 belief. 28:31 When the creator of the universe, 28:34 when He speaks the word, His word, get this, His word, 28:37 His word is so omnipotent 28:39 that the moment He speaks the word, 28:41 the word creates the reality it describes. 28:43 So when He says, let there be light. 28:46 In half a nanosecond, there is light. 28:50 When He speaks the word, if any man is in Christ, 28:53 if any woman is in Christ, if when He speaks the words 28:56 behold, behold I do a new thing, boom. 29:01 A new thing has happened. 29:03 When He speaks the word, if any man, 29:05 if any woman is in Christ in that instant. 29:09 I'm telling you. 29:11 This in Christ's phrase in my humble conviction, 29:16 this is a deal breaker. 29:17 This is a deal breaker, if you get this one. 29:22 But it gets even better, drop down to verse 19. 29:24 So Paul is talking about God, this is verse 19 and he says, 29:27 "That God was reconciling the world to himself..." 29:32 Here comes again, in Christ over 200 times. 29:35 "God was in the world 29:37 reconciling to himself in Christ, 29:40 not counting people's sins against them." 29:43 Now watch this, watch this, because most translations 29:46 read this way. 29:48 God was in Christ, four words in the English. 29:50 In the Greek, Theis itan en Christo, 29:54 four words in the Greek. 29:56 God was in Christ. 29:59 You know, what's happening here? 30:01 The father is in the sun, on the cross. 30:06 Oh, it reminds me of these words of Ellen White, 30:08 got to put them on the screen for you. 30:10 From that little classic Desire of Ages. 30:13 You see it on the screen, "God sacrificed Himself, 30:16 in Christ, for our redemption." 30:21 But here's the stunner, this is from a little magazine 30:23 called "Signs of the Times", on the screen as well. 30:25 "God Himself, God Himself was crucified with Christ, 30:31 Christ was one with the Father." 30:33 The Father Himself was crucified, 30:35 He was in Christ. 30:36 One more, the apocalyptic classic 30:38 Great Controversy on the screen. 30:39 "The love of the Father, 30:41 no less than the love of the Son, 30:43 is the fountain of salvation for the lost race." 30:48 You know what that means? 30:49 Ladies and gentlemen, you know what that means? 30:51 When Christ died, 30:52 when Calvary's love poured out of that broken heart, 30:55 He died, He died as a surrogate. 30:59 Do you know what a surrogate is? 31:01 Anybody know, what's the definition of a surrogate? 31:04 Well, the dictionary says, "A surrogate is a substitute 31:06 assigned to stand in for someone else." 31:09 And as Calvary's love is being poured out, 31:11 the surrogate standing in for the father, 31:13 the surrogate is there. 31:15 The surrogate of God. 31:16 Oh, by the way, the surrogate for the entire human race, 31:19 the surrogate for you and me on Calvary's cross. 31:25 What kind of love is this? 31:27 Love of Christ compels us. 31:29 I mean, can you understand it? 31:30 And I tell you what, 31:32 the wonder is not so much that Jesus died for us, 31:35 the wonder is He even wanted to, 31:40 but it gets even better. 31:41 Drop down to verse 21, wow. 31:45 God made him, that would be Christ. 31:48 "God made Christ who had no sin to be sin for us, so that..." 31:53 What are the next two words so with that? 31:55 "In Him." 31:56 There it is again, there is that phrase. 31:58 "So that in Him we might become the righteousness, 32:02 the righteousness of God." 32:03 Hey, what's righteousness mean? 32:06 Well, we've been kind of thinking about 32:07 righteousness this way. 32:08 Righteousness is right doing. 32:11 That's what it is, right doing. 32:13 That's why God is 24/7 righteous 32:15 because He's always doing right. 32:17 Twenty four seven, I'm righteous. 32:19 He is the only righteous one in the universe. 32:21 Twenty four seven, which means... 32:24 Listen, listen to this, 32:25 when we are in Christ as we just read, 32:28 the filthy rags of our sins go to Him, 32:31 so that the spotless robe of His righteousness 32:34 gets wrapped around us. 32:36 I mean, can you believe that? 32:39 He became my sin so that in Him 32:43 I can become His righteousness by faith. 32:47 Which is why there is this old dusty phrase that still 32:50 gets used now and then, righteousness by faith, 32:54 by faith. 32:56 Which means that when I am in Christ, 32:59 His perfect life becomes my perfect life. 33:03 Can you believe that? 33:04 When I am in Christ, 33:06 His perfect purity becomes my perfect purity. 33:10 Amen. 33:11 Listen, when I am in Christ, His perfect racial unity. 33:17 We have a little conference going on, 33:18 we're gonna get right back to this afternoon at two, 33:20 should've been here last night. 33:21 Oh, Michael Nixon, wow. 33:24 You missed that. 33:25 It's in the youth chapel from two on to the rest of the day. 33:28 It's called repairing the breach achieving, seeking, 33:31 racial unity within the church. 33:34 When we as a people, when we are in Christ, 33:37 His perfect unity becomes our perfect unity. 33:41 When I'm in Christ, His honesty becomes my honesty. 33:45 His righteousness becomes my righteousness, by faith. 33:49 You know what that means? You know what that means? 33:51 Let me put it on the screen for you. 33:52 I hope this is the one line to take home today. 33:55 "All that is His becomes all that is mine, 33:59 when I am in Christ." 34:02 All that is His, you say, oh, Dwight, come on. 34:04 This is typical, typical homiletical hyperbole, 34:07 you guys are really something. 34:08 Oh, you think so, huh? 34:10 Let me go back to the Book of Ephesians, 34:12 stay right where you are. 34:13 Go back to the Book of Ephesians 1:3, 34:15 we put it on the screen, little bit of hyperbole? 34:17 I think not, read this on the screen. 34:19 "Praise be to the God and Father 34:21 of Our Lord Jesus Christ, 34:22 who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with..." 34:26 What's the next word? 34:27 Come on, call it out to me. What's the next word? 34:30 "With every spiritual," what? 34:32 Spiritual what? 34:33 "Blessing." 34:34 All that is His, 34:37 when I'm in Christ all that is His 34:39 becomes all that is mine, when I'm in Christ. 34:45 Every spiritual blessing. 34:47 How much of every is every? 34:49 Do you know? 34:52 Oh, it's pretty much all, okay. 34:54 Pretty much all. 34:56 Wow. 34:59 All that is His becomes all that is mine, 35:02 when you are in Christ. 35:05 And by the way. 35:06 Oh, don't let anybody kid you, 35:07 it's already a done deal, been done. 35:10 It's not like you and I come to God, 35:11 and God says, oh, Dwight don't worry, 35:13 oh, you want to be saved. 35:15 Well, let me think. 35:17 Let me think. 35:18 You know what, Dwight, 35:19 I need to kind of get go over this thing. 35:21 I tell you what, I'll call you back. 35:22 Don't call me, I'll call you. 35:25 Is it that way with God? It is not. 35:27 What have we just read? 35:28 If any man is in Christ, if any woman is in Christ, 35:32 just like that half a nanosecond, 35:34 you say Jesus, you got it. 35:37 If anyone is in Christ, 35:39 she, he is a new creation in Christ. 35:43 Old things are gone away, behold all things become new. 35:48 I tell you what, Dwight, I don't feel very new. 35:50 I didn't ask you if you felt new. 35:52 I don't even care about your feelings 35:54 and neither does God, the issue is not feelings, 35:55 it's faith, it's faith. 35:58 It's what Jesus said to the centurion. 35:59 Remember, what Jesus said the centurion? 36:01 The centurion comes walking up to Jesus 36:02 and he says, "Listen, my servant is dying. 36:04 I need you to, I need you to heal him." 36:06 Oh, I'll go to your house. No, no, no, stop right there. 36:09 You don't have to come to my house, 36:10 all you have to do is say the words. 36:11 Say I got servants. I know how it works. 36:13 I have soldiers under me. 36:14 I just say the word go and they go, 36:16 I say come and they come. 36:17 You say the word and my servant will be healed just like that 36:21 and Jesus goes, wow. 36:24 I've been running around the saved all my life, 36:26 I have never seen faith like this pagan. 36:31 Then He says to this pagan. 36:34 He says, let it be done to you according to your feelings. 36:38 No, He did not. 36:39 Let it be done to you according to your faith. 36:43 That boy was healed just like that. 36:46 I'm telling you what, it's already a done deal. 36:48 You're a new creation in God's eyes. 36:51 Based on the cross 2000 years ago, done, it is finished. 36:57 I mean, you will be like you getting a FedEx letter. 37:00 Ever get FedEx letter? 37:02 Yeah, UPS? 37:04 FedEx? 37:07 It's pretty important. 37:09 Right? 37:10 It's like you getting a FedEx letter 37:12 from an unknown law firm 37:14 that informs you that your great uncle, 37:16 whom you knew but never met in your life. 37:19 Your great uncle some years ago has died childless 37:24 and he has willed to you his entire estate, 37:28 but only now have his lawyers located you. 37:34 And if you are willing 37:36 to receive this inheritance. 37:40 If you would just sign the Fedex receipt. 37:43 Come on, you put your John Henry there or Mary Henry, 37:45 just put it down there. 37:47 If you are willing to receive this estate, 37:52 you will be the inheritor of $3.3 billion. 38:00 Sir, sign online. 38:03 This was done a long time ago. 38:05 You're just finding out about it now, that's okay. 38:07 It's still valid. 38:09 Two thousand years ago, ladies and gentlemen, 38:11 on the cross of Calvary, 38:12 God took the entire treasury of the universe 38:15 and He emptied it to the last penny 38:19 in the gift of Christ to the human race. 38:22 Two thousand years ago it was lock sealed 38:26 and ready as soon as we locate you, 38:30 sign on this little FedEx receipt, 38:31 you got it buddy. 38:34 Wow. 38:37 All that is His 38:39 becomes all that is mine. 38:45 When I'm, when you are in Christ. 38:51 In very practical terms, Dwight, come on, 38:52 cut to the chase. 38:54 How does this work? 38:55 You want it very practical, 38:56 let me give it to you very simply. 38:58 The little book "Steps to Christ," 39:00 is this something put it on the screen. 39:01 Steps to Christ, page 62. 39:03 "Christ... 39:05 lived on earth amid trials and temptations 39:09 such as we have to meet. 39:11 He lived a sinless life." 39:14 Tempted like as we are yet without sin. 39:16 He was born with our weaknesses, 39:18 thoroughly through him. 39:19 "He died for us, and now 39:22 He offers to take our sins and give us..." 39:24 There is that 2 Corinthians 5:21 exchange 39:27 and now He offers to give us 39:29 His righteousness, 39:30 if, okay, you got to sign the FedEx receipt. 39:33 Here it comes. 39:34 "If you give yourself to Him, 39:38 if you accept Him as your savior." 39:40 Come on, boy, couldn't wait, just sign the receipt. 39:42 "Sinful as your life may have been, 39:45 for Christ's sake you are accounted righteous. 39:49 Here in this gets even better. Come on, keep reading. 39:51 "Christ's character stands in place of your character...", 39:53 and hold on to your pew. 39:55 "You are accepted before God just as if you had not sinned." 40:00 Zero sin in your life. 40:04 Now, can it get any better than that? 40:08 Help me out. 40:09 Can it get any better than that? 40:12 All that is His is all that is yours in Christ. 40:17 Over 200 times in Christ, in Christ, in Christ, 40:19 we get it Paul, we get it, we get it. 40:22 You know why this is true 40:24 because you have a new address. 40:26 You're not just, you don't live just in Berrien Springs, 40:28 you live in Christ. 40:30 You have a new address and that divine address 40:33 declares that when God sees you, 40:35 He sees Jesus. 40:36 He sees Jesus your savior, He sees Jesus your surrogate, 40:39 He sees Jesus your substitute. 40:42 But there's a little bit of wrong kind of crazy thinking 40:45 associated with that imagery, 40:47 and so we need to correct it right now. 40:49 And Cameron Schofield makes a small 40:52 but very significant tweaking to that picture 40:55 we've all grown up with and it's very helpful. 40:58 We'll put Cameron's words on the screen. 41:00 This is from his book "Heralding the Loud Cry." 41:02 We often... is this true or what? 41:05 "We often have a picture in our mind of Christ standing 41:08 before the Father as our high priest and advocate." 41:10 And then there's little, old me. 41:12 Christ is about 10, 12 feet tall 41:14 and I'm down here 4 feet tall, 41:16 there is little old me trembling, 41:17 standing behind Him 41:21 as Jesus the high priest and advocate 41:23 pleads with the Father. 41:25 He's there supplicating... 41:26 Cameron writing now. 41:28 "He's there supplicating on my behalf." 41:30 Oh Father, I know, Dwight. 41:33 Oh, fine. 41:34 And forget it, forget it. 41:36 Look at me, look at me, look at me, 41:37 please don't worry about him take me. 41:40 We take that. 41:42 And Cameron says, time out, time out, 41:44 reality check, friends. 41:45 You see that line there, friends. 41:47 "There is only one man standing before God. 41:51 Jesus Christ is that man and we are, where are we? 41:55 "We are in Him." 41:58 You have a divine address. 41:59 You don't have to be up there. 42:01 You don't have to be standing up there 42:02 in all your little weak and frail human reality. 42:06 No, we are in Christ. 42:10 And by the way, don't be fooled 42:13 by some aberrant theology in this thinking 42:16 that Jesus somehow has to persuade 42:19 the Father to love you. 42:20 We know that's not true. We just read it in verse 19. 42:24 "God was in Christ at the cross." 42:27 The Father was there, He was crucified with His Son. 42:32 Calvary's love, put it up Romans 5:8, 42:35 Paul says, you need to get this. 42:36 "But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: 42:40 While we were still sinners, Christ died for us." 42:45 In Christ, I mean can you believe it? 42:49 What a glorious piece to this 42:51 #RxF4Now puzzle 42:56 we're putting together. 42:59 Yeah, but, Dwight, come on, come on, help me out. 43:02 How can I get in Christ right now? 43:03 I need to get in Christ right now. 43:05 Oh, Jesus says, I'm very glad you asked that question. 43:08 Let me answer that myself. 43:09 Jesus answers this, red letters now, 43:11 you will look this text up. 43:12 John 6, please, John 6. 43:15 Red letters in my Bible. 43:16 Jesus has the answer. 43:18 You want to be in Christ? 43:19 Let me give you the way. 43:22 John 6:56, bright red in my Bible. 43:27 Jesus speaking, "Whoever eats my flesh 43:31 and drinks my blood remains in me..." 43:36 There is that in Christ. 43:37 "Remains in me and I in her, 43:43 and him I in them." 43:48 Jesus says, look it, you want to be in me? 43:50 Eat my flesh, drink my blood and that feels so gory 43:55 and the fact that you have verse 60 indicates, 43:58 we would not be the only ones who says, that is yuck. 44:01 Look at verse 60, "On hearing it, 44:03 many of His disciples said, 'This is a hard teaching. 44:06 Who can accept it?' 44:07 Artios senor and they're gone. 44:11 It is gory, if you missed the point. 44:14 What's she's talking about here? 44:17 Oh, Jesus is referring to the powerful symbolism 44:20 of the Lord's Supper. 44:21 You see there is no Lord's Supper 44:24 in the Gospel of John. 44:26 The fourth gospel, there's no Lord's Supper. 44:28 Matthew Mark Luke, yep, Lord's Supper. 44:30 John writes it years after the synoptics. 44:32 And so John comes along and says you know, 44:34 we've already got three stories. 44:35 Why do you need a fourth story? 44:36 I am gonna take the Lord's Supper 44:38 and I'm going to embed its powerful symbolism in my, 44:42 I am the bread of life chapter 6 44:44 and that's exactly what has happened. 44:46 Look at verse 51. 44:48 Jesus is still speaking, 44:49 "I am the living bread that came down from heaven. 44:53 Whoever eats this bread will live forever. 44:55 This bread is my flesh, 44:57 which I will give for the life of the world." 45:00 You want to be in me, then eat the bread, 45:03 drink the cup and in that way, 45:05 you will abide in me and I will abide in you. 45:09 And listen, ladies and gentlemen, 45:10 when we celebrate the Lord's Supper 45:12 we physically, we symbolically become one with the savior. 45:18 We are ingested in, He is ingested in. 45:24 When you eat the bread and drink the cup, 45:26 you are invited into Christ and He is invited into you. 45:30 In fact, right after he gave the Lord's Supper 45:31 in John's account now. 45:33 No, Lord's Supper but he does say the words 45:34 right after the Lord's Supper, 45:36 abide in me and I in you. 45:39 That's the whole point. 45:42 You want to be in Christ? You want to stay in Christ? 45:47 Eat the bread. 45:50 Drink the cup. 45:53 Let Him come in, you go in to Him. 45:58 And you are never ever the same again ever. 46:04 Every single time 46:05 you are never the same again. 46:11 When my dad died, my mother insisted, 46:16 let us boys take some of his clothes. 46:20 So I chose dad's pilot sweater 46:22 and his flight jumpsuit. 46:25 My dad loved to fly 46:27 and in his retirement 46:29 he was a chaplain with the Civil Air Patrol. 46:34 I know that today he is sleeping in Jesus. 46:38 I understand that. 46:40 I know that he is quietly awaiting the resurrection 46:44 and the life, 46:46 but I have got to tell you, 46:49 when you put on the clothes of someone you love, 46:54 someone who loved you dearly. 46:56 When you put on the clothes in a existential way, 47:02 it says if you could almost smell him. 47:06 He's here. He's here. 47:10 And when we take the bread, and when we take the cup... 47:17 I know he's not here, I know. 47:20 But in a mysterious sort of way it says if he's here. 47:25 You could almost smell him. 47:26 The robe goes around you and you could have sworn, 47:32 that was those were his arms going around you. 47:36 That's why, you want to abide in me? 47:40 And you want me to abide in you? 47:44 Eat the bread. 47:48 Drink the cup. 47:51 I in you, and you in me. 47:56 Wow. 47:58 I don't think it gets any better than that, do you? 48:01 Let's pray. 48:02 Oh, God can you believe it. 48:07 Over 200 times 48:09 and we've missed this in Christ, 48:12 in Christ, in Christ 48:15 all that is His is all that is mine in Christ. 48:19 Oh, God thank you. 48:23 Calvary's love, what else can we say? 48:26 Thank you, thank you, thank you in Jesus' name. 48:32 Amen. 52:47 As Dwayne just prayed a moment ago. 52:48 He said, God set the table and make sure there's food 52:51 for everyone and there is. 52:54 Our ushers are making sure that everybody here receives this. 52:59 And you know it would not... 53:01 It would not be out of place 53:05 had Christ at that upper room table, 53:10 He returned to His disciples and He said, 53:12 "Look, this is my body. 53:16 This is my blood. 53:18 If you eat my flesh and drink my blood, 53:23 I will abide in you and you will abide in Me." 53:28 Today we do that. 53:29 His body and His blood 53:32 and so we're going to do it together. 53:35 We'll eat the bread and drink the cup together. 53:39 And we do it as He said in remembrance of Me. 53:45 Let us partake. 54:13 And so in Christ we go forth together, 54:18 in Christ go with joy. 54:21 We're gonna sing a hymn as they did in the upper room. 54:23 Hymn 407 in the hymnal. 54:25 Now we're gonna stand together, 54:26 as we sing and are sent forth into the world for Christ. 54:43 Sent forth by God's blessing, 54:47 our true faith confessing 54:50 The people of God from His dwelling take leave 54:56 The supper is ended Oh, now be extended 55:03 The fruits of this service in all who believe 55:09 The seed of His teaching 55:13 Receptive souls reaching 55:16 Shall blossom in action for God and for all 55:22 His grace did invite us, 55:25 His love shall unite us 55:29 To work for God's kingdom 55:32 and answer His call 55:37 With praise and thanksgiving to God ever-living 55:43 The tasks of our everyday life we will face 55:50 Our faith ever sharing, 55:53 in love ever caring 55:56 Embracing His children of each tribe and race 56:03 With Your feast You feed us, 56:06 with Your light now lead us 56:09 Unite us as one in this life that we share 56:16 Then may all the living with praise and thanksgiving 56:23 Give honor to Christ 56:26 and His name that we bear 56:36 And now may the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ 56:39 and the love of God 56:41 and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit 56:43 be with you all. 56:44 Amen. 57:00 I want to take an extra moment with you to tell you 57:02 about something we're really excited about, 57:03 it's called Hope trending, a crash course 57:06 on how to live without fear. 57:08 It's a nine night series of 60 minute programs 57:10 that will be live streamed to the world, 57:12 October 14th through 22. 57:15 And we want to connect with your friends, 57:17 friends who have yet to meet God, 57:18 friends who have yet to discover 57:19 how vital end time truths are 57:21 for this very generation. 57:23 That's why I hope you'll pass on to them an invitation. 57:27 All the information you need for that invitation 57:28 is at our website. 57:30 Let me give that website to you. 57:31 Check it out for yourself, hopetrending.org, 57:34 one word hopetrending.org. 57:37 And would you please join me in praying 57:38 that this new innovative strategy 57:40 will open up fresh doors for Jesus 57:43 across this nation and literally around the world. 57:46 In the meantime my prayer is that 57:48 God will continue to bless you 57:49 with His hope, with His grace, with His peace, 57:53 until we meet again right here next time. |
