00:38:00.41\00:38:03.38 Why don't you take the seat in first class? 00:38:03.41\00:38:06.08 I'll sit back here." I'm not an alcoholic. 00:39:27.66\00:39:31.97 Yeah, I know God says, "It's pride, covetousness, 00:39:32.00\00:39:34.60 and selfishness that I'm worried about with you." 00:39:34.64\00:39:37.21 You see the point. 00:39:37.24\00:39:39.07 An intellectual community still needs Calvary. 00:39:39.11\00:39:41.54 That's the point. We need the cross. 00:39:41.58\00:39:45.05 I need the cross. 00:39:45.08\00:39:47.25 I am the worst sinner, Paul says, 00:39:47.32\00:39:48.78 "Christ Jesus came in the world to save sinners 00:39:48.82\00:39:50.49 of whom I'm the worst." 00:39:50.52\00:39:51.85 But there's good news for intellectual sinners. 00:39:51.89\00:39:53.36 Keep reading. 00:39:53.39\00:39:54.79 "As you see the enormity..." 00:39:54.82\00:39:56.93 Get my place here. 00:39:56.96\00:39:58.29 "As you see the enormity of sin, 00:39:58.33\00:39:59.66 as you see yourself as you really are..." 00:39:59.69\00:40:01.43 Oh, boy, those moments come. 00:40:01.46\00:40:03.26 "Do not give up to despair. 00:40:03.33\00:40:05.07 It was sinners that Christ Jesus came to save. 00:40:05.10\00:40:07.60 We have not to reconcile God to us, 00:40:07.64\00:40:09.77 but wondrous, O wondrous love!" 00:40:09.80\00:40:11.97 This is so beautiful. 00:40:12.01\00:40:13.64 "God in Christ is 'reconciling the world unto Himself.' 00:40:13.68\00:40:16.58 He is wooing by His tender love the hearts 00:40:16.61\00:40:18.55 of His erring children. 00:40:18.58\00:40:19.91 No earthly parent could be as patient 00:40:19.98\00:40:22.15 with the faults and mistakes of his children, 00:40:22.18\00:40:24.42 as is God with those He seeks to save. 00:40:24.45\00:40:26.76 No one could plead more tenderly with a transgressor. 00:40:26.82\00:40:29.72 No human lips ever poured out more tender entreaties 00:40:29.76\00:40:32.96 to the wanderer than does He." 00:40:32.99\00:40:37.00 My mother, God bless her, 87 years of age, 00:40:37.03\00:40:40.77 in this family and had the cousins there, 00:40:40.80\00:40:43.07 the siblings, the spouses 00:40:43.10\00:40:45.14 and my momma just sitting here drinking it all Tuesday night, 00:40:56.35\00:40:59.22 said, "Dwight, I need to say little something, 00:40:59.25\00:41:00.66 I noticed about you." 00:41:00.69\00:41:02.52 Apparently even at 87 mothers can do this. 00:41:02.56\00:41:05.36 There ought to be a cutoff 00:41:05.39\00:41:06.73 where they just, just be thankful, I mean. 00:41:06.80\00:41:11.57 No, I receive that, 00:41:11.60\00:41:12.93 I receive that in my heart is the gift of love. 00:41:12.97\00:41:17.64 And that's God, He says, it's me. 00:41:17.67\00:41:19.57 I'm not mother of yours. 00:41:19.61\00:41:21.04 I'm not daddy of yours you never had. 00:41:21.08\00:41:23.21 I'm the father you always longed to have 00:41:23.24\00:41:25.45 but he gave up on you, 00:41:25.48\00:41:27.58 I have never given up on you, you are my girl, Look at these scars, J-E-S-U-S, 00:41:37.43\00:41:40.86 come be charmed, come to me. 00:41:40.90\00:41:44.73 What a God that we've come to worship 00:41:44.77\00:41:48.30 the second day of the new year, and He's here, 00:41:48.34\00:41:52.11 He's speaking to your heart right now, 00:41:52.14\00:41:53.91 like you speak into mine 00:41:53.94\00:41:55.28 surprising me even in my own notes. 00:41:55.31\00:41:58.15 That's the way He is. 00:41:58.18\00:41:59.61 Oh, the last line of this, of this paragraph, 00:42:02.85\00:42:05.65 I put it on the screen, just one line. 00:42:05.69\00:42:07.06 "All His promises, His warnings, 00:42:07.09\00:42:09.02 are but the breathing of unutterable love." 00:42:09.06\00:42:13.09 Don't get any better than unutterable love, 00:42:13.13\00:42:15.73 that's how much He loves you. 00:42:15.76\00:42:17.13 You say, "Dwight, you don't know what I did in 2015?" 00:42:17.17\00:42:18.97 I don't care to know, I already know what I did. 00:42:19.00\00:42:20.84 I'm the worst of sinners. 00:42:20.90\00:42:22.24 So we'll enjoy this company together. 00:42:22.27\00:42:23.91 The point is an unutterable love says, are, 00:42:42.79\00:42:44.13 look up to you're Redeemer" as we will... 00:42:44.19\00:42:45.53 At Lord's table we're going to be looking straight up 00:42:45.56\00:42:47.76 in the face of Jesus. 00:42:47.76\00:42:49.10 "Look up to your Redeemer and talk of His merits." 00:42:49.13\00:42:52.70 That's who counts, 00:42:52.73\00:42:54.07 "That which will help you to look 00:42:54.10\00:42:55.44 is to look to His light. 00:42:55.47\00:42:56.84 Acknowledge your sin, at the foot of the cross, 00:42:56.87\00:42:59.14 but tell the enemy..." 00:42:59.17\00:43:00.58 Hey, Yo! 00:43:00.61\00:43:01.94 00:43:07.62\00:43:09.42 I know what you're saying, but you tell to your enemy. 00:43:09.45\00:43:12.02 "Tell the enemy that 00:43:12.05\00:43:13.39 'Christ Jesus came into the world
