really ringing out. 00:00:51.09\00:00:53.03 And I think of that day 00:00:53.06\00:00:54.86 when we see our Savior face to face. 00:00:54.89\00:00:58.24 It's also beautiful, 'cause I don't have my team here today 00:00:58.27\00:01:01.03 and so we have one humongous praise team 00:01:01.06\00:01:03.91 is that all right today. 00:01:03.94\00:01:05.41 We sing together from our hearts and with passion 00:01:05.44\00:01:08.23 with fervor to the King of kings and to the Lord of Lords. 00:01:08.26\00:01:11.27 He desires to hear us just. 00:01:11.30\00:01:12.79 The Bible say He is in throne in our praises, 00:01:12.82\00:01:15.63 He dwells when we lift Him high, 00:01:15.66\00:01:18.67 when we adore Him we cry holy. 00:01:18.70\00:01:23.39 Here's the testimony of the Christian 00:01:23.42\00:01:25.00 'I'm forgiven" let's sing together. 00:01:25.03\00:01:27.83 I'm forgiven Because you were forsaken 00:01:27.86\00:01:34.94 I'm accepted You were condemned 00:01:34.97\00:01:41.87 I'm alive and well Your Spirit is within me 00:01:41.90\00:01:47.74 Because you died and rose again 00:01:47.77\00:01:53.03 Amazing love. 00:01:53.06\00:01:55.57 Amazing love How can it be 00:01:55.60\00:02:02.58 That You my King would die for me? 00:02:02.61\00:02:07.50 Amazing love 00:02:07.53\00:02:09.68 Amazing love I know it's true 00:02:09.71\00:02:15.09 It's my joy 00:02:32.27\00:02:34.49 I'm forgiven, because you were forsaken 00:02:34.52\00:02:40.06 Think about it 00:02:40.09\00:02:41.56 I'm accepted, You were condemned 00:02:41.59\00:02:46.99 And today 00:02:47.02\00:02:48.48 I'm alive and well, Your Spirit is within me 00:02:48.51\00:02:54.35 Because you died and rose again 00:02:54.38\00:03:00.39 Amazing love, amazing love, 00:03:00.42\00:03:04.57 how can it be 00:03:04.60\00:03:09.05 That You my King would die for me? 00:03:09.08\00:03:13.97 Amazing love 00:03:14.00\00:03:15.85 Amazing love, I know it's true 00:03:15.88\00:03:22.51 And it's my joy to honor You 00:03:22.54\00:03:26.09 In all I do 00:03:26.12\00:03:27.38 In all I do, I honor You 00:03:27.41\00:03:33.62 We make this declaration. 00:03:33.65\00:03:35.65 You are my King Jesus, You 00:03:35.68\00:03:41.66 Jesus, You are my King 00:03:41.69\00:03:47.32 Confess it for yourself today. 00:03:47.35\00:03:49.51 You are my King Jesus 00:03:49.54\00:03:55.59 Jesus you are my King 00:03:55.62\00:04:01.54 One last time, amazing love. 00:04:01.57\00:04:04.16 Amazing love, how can it be 00:04:04.19\00:04:11.03 That You my King would die for me? 00:04:11.06\00:04:15.59 Amazing love 00:04:15.62\00:04:17.67 Amazing love, I know it's true 00:04:17.70\00:04:24.63 It's my joy to honor You 00:04:24.66\00:04:28.36 In all In all I do, 00:04:28.39\00:04:32.80 I honor you In all I do 00:04:32.83\00:04:37.01 In all I do, I'll honor You 00:04:37.04\00:04:42.22 Let's sing this hymn. 00:04:46.29\00:04:48.07 Amazing grace, 00:04:48.10\00:04:54.11 How sweet the sound 00:04:54.14\00:05:00.31 That saved a wretch 00:05:00.34\00:05:06.36 Like me 00:05:06.39\00:05:12.48 I once was lost 00:05:12.51\00:05:19.01 but no I'm found 00:05:19.04\00:05:25.33 Was blind but now 00:05:25.36\00:05:31.90 I see 00:05:31.93\00:05:34.91 One by one Jesse's sons 00:05:51.36\00:05:57.00 stood before the prophet 00:05:57.03\00:06:01.80 The prophet knew a king 00:06:01.83\00:06:04.84 would soon be found 00:06:04.87\00:06:10.80 And each one passed except the last 00:06:10.83\00:06:16.50 No one thought to call him 00:06:16.53\00:06:20.59 Surely he would never wear a crown 00:06:20.62\00:06:27.96 But when others see 00:06:27.99\00:06:32.93 a shepherd boy 00:06:32.96\00:06:35.87 God may see a king 00:06:35.90\00:06:40.60 Even though your life seems filled 00:06:40.63\00:06:45.08 with ordinary things 00:06:45.11\00:06:48.98 In just a moment 00:06:49.01\00:06:51.35 He can touch you 00:06:51.38\00:06:54.19 and everything will change 00:06:54.22\00:06:59.26 When others see a shepherd boy 00:06:59.29\00:07:04.94 God may see a king 00:07:04.97\00:07:12.00 One by one problems come 00:07:21.12\00:07:26.46 and dreams get shattered 00:07:26.49\00:07:30.99 And times it seems so hard 00:07:31.02\00:07:33.93 to understand 00:07:33.96\00:07:39.67 But things like chance and circumstance 00:07:39.70\00:07:45.16 They don't really matter 00:07:45.19\00:07:49.04 Our Father holds tomorrow in His hands 00:07:49.07\00:07:56.20 And when others see a shepherd boy 00:07:56.23\00:08:03.52 God may see a king 00:08:03.55\00:08:08.22 Even though your life seems filled 00:08:08.25\00:08:12.49 with ordinary things 00:08:12.52\00:08:16.43 In just a moment He can touch you 00:08:16.46\00:08:21.55 and everything will change 00:08:21.58\00:08:26.32 When others see a shepherd boy 00:08:26.35\00:08:31.69 God may see a king 00:08:31.72\00:08:37.50 Well it wasn't the oldest and it wasn't the strongest 00:08:40.57\00:08:46.55 Chosen on that day 00:08:46.58\00:08:50.45 And yet the giants fell the nations trembled 00:08:50.48\00:08:56.22 When they stood in his way 00:08:56.25\00:08:58.71 And when others see a shepherd boy 00:09:01.54\00:09:07.46 God may see a king 00:09:07.49\00:09:11.90 Even though your life seems filled 00:09:11.93\00:09:16.12 with ordinary things 00:09:16.15\00:09:20.28 In just a moment He can touch you 00:09:20.31\00:09:25.25 and everything will change 00:09:25.28\00:09:29.86 When others see a shepherd boy 00:09:29.89\00:09:35.38 God may see a king 00:09:35.41\00:09:42.03 God may see a king 00:09:46.40\00:09:54.07 Let's pray together. 00:10:11.59\00:10:12.78 Only You, Father, are able to do that. 00:10:15.17\00:10:20.44 See little shepherd, boys and girls like us. 00:10:23.81\00:10:26.95 And see something down deep beneath that exterior 00:10:30.27\00:10:33.66 that promises a partnership of the King of Kings. 00:10:33.69\00:10:38.22 Teach us today 00:10:41.30\00:10:43.55 how we can partner with You in that very mission. 00:10:43.58\00:10:47.74 In these times of the Issachar factor 00:10:47.77\00:10:50.04 teach us today. 00:10:50.07\00:10:51.59 We pray in Christ name, amen. 00:10:51.62\00:10:57.94 As we wrap this-- there are many series the Issachar factor. 00:10:57.97\00:11:02.65 I'm thinking about a paradox 00:11:02.68\00:11:05.92 that a Greek philosopher named Zeno of Elea 5th BC. 00:11:05.95\00:11:12.77 He came up with this paradox. 00:11:12.80\00:11:13.92 And I'm thinking Issachar factor. 00:11:13.95\00:11:15.82 He says or he said 00:11:15.85\00:11:20.44 that if you travel every day 00:11:20.47\00:11:23.68 half way to your destination 00:11:23.71\00:11:28.41 you will never reach your destination. 00:11:28.44\00:11:33.61 You think about that, because every day 00:11:33.64\00:11:37.55 there'll be just a little more you have to go. 00:11:37.58\00:11:41.52 I'm thinking Issachar factor, 00:11:41.55\00:11:42.78 I'm thinking of this unlikely little tribe 00:11:42.81\00:11:47.21 tucked away in the tribes of Israel 00:11:47.24\00:11:51.23 and I'm thinking of their accumulation of knowledge 00:11:51.26\00:11:54.25 could it be the same way. 00:11:54.28\00:11:56.26 No matter how much knowledge you accumulate every day 00:11:56.29\00:12:00.67 there will be more. 00:12:00.70\00:12:03.29 I want to come full circle with that 00:12:03.32\00:12:05.64 as we wrap up this little three part mini-series 00:12:05.67\00:12:07.87 by going back to our theme text. 00:12:07.90\00:12:09.48 Go back to 1 Chronicles with me. 00:12:09.51\00:12:12.90 Will you 1 Chronicles 12, 00:12:12.93\00:12:14.12 some of you are joining us today for the first time 00:12:14.15\00:12:15.96 we're delighted to have you. 00:12:15.99\00:12:17.70 So here's the text we have been brooding over this text 00:12:17.73\00:12:20.79 our last time in this theme text, 00:12:20.82\00:12:22.54 1 Chronicles Chapter 12. 00:12:22.57\00:12:24.01 If you didn't bring a Bible today, 00:12:24.04\00:12:25.13 grab the pew Bible in front of you. 00:12:25.16\00:12:26.61 You have got to track this one. 00:12:26.64\00:12:28.70 This is the capstone to our three piece mini-series. 00:12:28.73\00:12:33.00 Let's go to the theme text it will be-- 00:12:33.03\00:12:35.05 if you grab the pew Bible it would be the same translation 00:12:35.08\00:12:37.49 that I'll be reading from this morning 00:12:37.52\00:12:39.79 the New King James and if it's-- 00:12:39.82\00:12:41.80 if you are in the pew Bible that would be page 285. 00:12:41.83\00:12:47.51 So young David, by the way the shepherd boy becomes king 00:12:47.54\00:12:49.95 that's what's happening in 1 Chronicles 12. 00:12:49.98\00:12:51.52 The boy has become a king 00:12:51.55\00:12:53.32 and it list now the 12 tribes of Israel 00:12:53.35\00:12:55.74 and how each of them is having is stepping forward 00:12:55.77\00:12:58.85 providing support for the brand new young monarch. 00:12:58.88\00:13:02.71 Everybody out saw shepherd boy, 00:13:02.74\00:13:04.84 but God saw a king, all right. 00:13:04.87\00:13:07.61 So tucked in the middle of this list 00:13:07.64\00:13:10.20 comes this obscure tribe Issachar. 00:13:10.23\00:13:12.61 Verse 32, notice the identification marker 00:13:12.64\00:13:15.73 that Issachar is given. 00:13:15.76\00:13:17.91 Oh, I wish this marker would be true of me. 00:13:17.94\00:13:22.34 I wish it would be true of you Jeremy as well. 00:13:22.37\00:13:26.94 Issachar factor can be true before all of us. 00:13:26.97\00:13:31.13 Okay, this is verse 32 of 1 Chronicles 12 00:13:31.16\00:13:33.64 "And of the sons of Issachar" Now notice the ID marker. 00:13:33.67\00:13:37.56 "Who had understanding of the times, 00:13:37.59\00:13:40.94 to know what Israel ought to do." 00:13:40.97\00:13:47.91 This uncanny, this prescient ability 00:13:47.94\00:13:51.05 of a tiny little tribe in Israel to understand the times 00:13:51.08\00:13:53.44 and to know what Israel ought there for to do 00:13:53.47\00:13:55.86 was to obviously predicate upon on 00:13:55.89\00:13:57.65 analysis of accumulating information and knowledge. 00:13:57.68\00:14:01.17 Now remember the paradox, there is always gonna be more. 00:14:01.20\00:14:03.25 So here's the question, how much knowledge is sufficient 00:14:03.28\00:14:07.29 to begin to make analysis of the world 00:14:07.32\00:14:09.36 in which we're living right now? 00:14:09.39\00:14:10.96 If I exercises Issachar factor 00:14:10.99\00:14:12.61 how much knowledge do I need to have? 00:14:12.64\00:14:14.77 I would love to know what the sons of Issachar 00:14:14.80\00:14:17.05 would do with this very week, 00:14:17.08\00:14:18.93 this paradigm shifting week on the planet. 00:14:18.96\00:14:23.31 You have the president of the mightiest nation on earth 00:14:23.34\00:14:28.80 stepping behind the days 00:14:28.83\00:14:32.12 in the heart of a major Islamic university 00:14:32.15\00:14:37.80 which is in the heart of a major Islamic city, 00:14:37.83\00:14:41.60 which is in the heart of a major Islamic nation, 00:14:41.63\00:14:44.68 which is in the heart of Arab Muslim the world over. 00:14:44.71\00:14:52.21 President Obama steps up to that lector 00:14:52.24\00:14:54.88 and for 55 minutes 00:14:54.91\00:14:59.40 he lectures 1.3 billion Muslims. 00:14:59.43\00:15:03.62 His lecture interrupted over 40 times by applause. 00:15:03.65\00:15:08.28 What's going on? 00:15:08.31\00:15:09.66 I'd love to know what the sons of Issachar 00:15:09.69\00:15:11.69 would do with that one. 00:15:11.72\00:15:14.15 What does it mean? 00:15:14.18\00:15:15.23 How does this play into the times 00:15:15.26\00:15:16.75 you and I have been gifted privilege by God to live. 00:15:16.78\00:15:21.51 For our final Issachar factor brooding 00:15:21.54\00:15:25.77 there's ability to understand the times 00:15:25.80\00:15:28.10 and then to know how to respond accordingly. 00:15:28.13\00:15:31.50 It's not go to a president, it's go to a king. 00:15:31.53\00:15:33.97 It's not go to the world of Islam, 00:15:34.00\00:15:35.52 it's go to the world of Israel. 00:15:35.55\00:15:37.15 One line from an old bitter, sweet, melancholy king. 00:15:37.18\00:15:44.30 Book of Chronicles here's the line 00:15:44.33\00:15:46.37 let's find, Chronicles Chapter 12. 00:15:46.40\00:15:47.92 Look it if you grown up in the community of faith 00:15:47.95\00:15:51.09 1 Chronicles 12 is not gonna be a surprise to you. 00:15:51.12\00:15:53.62 Some of you may have never read the words before 00:15:53.65\00:15:55.28 that's all right. 00:15:55.31\00:15:56.48 I want you to blow the dust off of this ancient line. 00:15:56.51\00:15:59.78 This is Ecclesiastes 12, 00:15:59.81\00:16:01.12 I'm sorry I said 1 Chronicles 12, 00:16:01.15\00:16:02.42 but now we're going to Ecclesiastes 12. 00:16:02.45\00:16:05.05 Kind of threw you there sorry about that. 00:16:05.08\00:16:06.66 The Ecclesiastes 12 all right written by this embittered king. 00:16:06.69\00:16:10.70 This soliloquy at the end of life. 00:16:10.73\00:16:12.78 This is King Solomon of course. 00:16:12.81\00:16:15.14 Ecclesiastes Chapter 12 that would be page 454 00:16:15.17\00:16:19.39 in your pew Bible. 00:16:19.42\00:16:21.45 Take look at this line as we wrap this little mini-series. 00:16:21.48\00:16:26.55 Okay, Ecclesiastes Chapter 12 00:16:26.58\00:16:29.72 many of you've read this line before let me read it again 00:16:29.75\00:16:32.15 we'll put it on the screen for you. 00:16:32.18\00:16:33.36 "Remember now your Creator in the days of your youth, 00:16:33.39\00:16:38.72 before the difficult days come, 00:16:38.75\00:16:40.54 and the years draw near when you say, 00:16:40.57\00:16:42.47 'I have no pleasure in them.'" 00:16:42.50\00:16:46.15 Now that line is so familiar to so many of us 00:16:46.18\00:16:49.97 that it absolutely has no effect at all. 00:16:50.00\00:16:51.73 And so here's what I need to do you're not allow to do this. 00:16:51.76\00:16:54.50 Right there at the end of the apocalypse 00:16:54.53\00:16:55.68 it says at the end of the Bible 00:16:55.71\00:16:57.15 God will bring the plagues upon anybody 00:16:57.18\00:16:58.73 who adds a word or takes a word from Holy Scripture. 00:16:58.76\00:17:00.90 So I don't want to do that, I want to simply invert it. 00:17:00.93\00:17:03.37 Doesn't say a word about switching words, 00:17:03.40\00:17:05.69 I want to switch two words. 00:17:05.72\00:17:07.62 Well, I think will be okay. 00:17:07.65\00:17:10.02 But you're gonna need a study guide to do this. 00:17:10.05\00:17:11.73 We've got to see it in the study guide 00:17:11.76\00:17:13.12 and so thank you ushers, for making sure 00:18:09.64\00:18:12.97 Now some of you look to the study guide 00:18:13.00\00:18:14.52 before we began you say oh, 00:18:14.55\00:18:15.68 there is obviously a typographical error, 00:18:15.71\00:18:17.18 because the identical sentence with the two same blanks 00:18:17.21\00:18:19.74 and the two same places are there somebody slipped up 00:18:19.77\00:18:22.24 and accidentally copied it a second time. 00:18:22.27\00:18:24.77 No that's intentional, all right. 00:18:24.80\00:18:28.05 So let's threw it our first, 00:18:28.08\00:18:29.12 let's threw it out the first set of blanks. 00:18:29.15\00:18:31.69 The proper reading of Ecclesiastes 12:1 00:18:31.72\00:18:34.66 "Remember now your Creator in the days of your youth." 00:18:34.69\00:18:40.37 Ladies and gentlemen, I do not want to downplay 00:18:40.40\00:18:42.12 for a moment the significance of just the way the line reads. 00:18:42.15\00:18:49.16 God says, listen I want to tell you something 00:18:49.19\00:18:50.84 when you are young it's the perfect time 00:18:50.87\00:18:54.58 to remember your Creator. 00:18:54.61\00:18:57.10 Now look at most of our college kids 00:18:57.13\00:18:58.85 have gone for the summer, 00:18:58.88\00:19:00.46 but we've got a lot of young adults here still. 00:19:00.49\00:19:02.93 I see you out there. 00:19:02.96\00:19:05.01 You were chosen by God. 00:19:05.04\00:19:06.28 It doesn't matter how your life is progressing right now, 00:19:06.31\00:19:08.39 it doesn't matter how the lack of guidance, 00:19:08.42\00:19:12.57 the lack of a sense of destiny 00:19:12.60\00:19:14.04 you are living with right now forget it. 00:19:14.07\00:19:16.10 You are alive today, because God wheels you 00:19:16.13\00:19:18.35 into the existence. 00:19:18.38\00:19:20.05 The point of this why is king 00:19:20.08\00:19:22.10 embedded at the end of his life after wine, women and song 00:19:22.13\00:19:24.77 and realizing that isn't even enough. 00:19:24.80\00:19:26.84 The point of the king is when you're young remember, 00:19:26.87\00:19:31.22 the Creator created you calls you into existence. 00:19:31.25\00:19:34.01 You are here for a dream, you are here for a vision. 00:19:34.04\00:19:36.81 God has a destiny for you. 00:19:36.84\00:19:38.63 That's great just the way it reads, 00:19:38.66\00:19:39.98 but I need to switch it around. 00:19:40.01\00:19:41.46 So would you now fill it out please? 00:19:41.49\00:19:43.00 Let's ponder for this final Issachar factor piece, 00:19:43.03\00:19:45.87 let's ponder it this way. 00:19:45.90\00:19:48.11 "Remember now you're youth in the day of your Creator." 00:19:48.14\00:19:53.18 Switch the words around. 00:19:53.21\00:19:55.00 Will you please and write them in 00:19:55.03\00:19:56.89 and so that the inverted text 00:19:56.92\00:19:58.73 with the entire text would read this way. 00:19:58.76\00:20:00.13 Let's put it on the screen please. 00:20:00.16\00:20:01.65 "Remember now your youth in the days of your Creator, 00:20:01.68\00:20:04.19 before the difficult days come, 00:20:04.22\00:20:06.74 and the years draw near when you say, 00:20:06.77\00:20:09.34 'I am not get much out of this at all.' 00:20:09.37\00:20:12.21 " Now the Solomon's point is 00:20:12.24\00:20:14.54 this is a soliloquy of growing old 00:20:14.57\00:20:16.65 and the very next verse has described the body 00:20:16.68\00:20:18.80 physically falling apart. 00:20:18.83\00:20:20.46 It says bummer. 00:20:20.49\00:20:22.62 I understand he is concerned about aging, 00:20:22.65\00:20:24.95 but as I brood over the Issachar factor 00:20:24.98\00:20:28.52 and this one line inverted 00:20:28.55\00:20:30.65 I'm concerned about the aging, 00:20:30.68\00:20:32.62 I'm concerned about the dangers aging of our civilization. 00:20:32.65\00:20:38.09 In fact, let me tell you something 00:20:38.12\00:20:39.15 the word for difficult right here 00:20:39.18\00:20:41.31 before the difficult days come 00:20:41.34\00:20:43.15 the actual Hebrew word is evil. 00:20:43.18\00:20:46.48 In fact the last time it's using in the Old Testament 00:20:46.51\00:20:48.69 it's just one page back Ecclesiastes. 00:20:48.72\00:20:50.21 Just turn the page back Ecclesiastes 9:12. 00:20:50.24\00:20:53.48 Notice this very clearly there the context its evil, 00:20:53.51\00:20:56.85 the word is to be translated evil. 00:20:56.88\00:20:58.82 Ecclesiastes 9:12 "For man also does not know his time" 00:20:58.85\00:21:04.51 obviously they don't have the Issachar factor. 00:21:04.54\00:21:06.33 Whoever these people are that they don't know their times 00:21:06.36\00:21:08.69 do not have the Issachar factor. 00:21:08.72\00:21:10.47 The Issachar factor means you will know your time, 00:21:10.50\00:21:12.79 you will then know how to respond to your time, 00:21:12.82\00:21:15.25 but Solomon says not everybody knows. 00:21:15.28\00:21:16.78 "For man also does not know his time, 00:21:16.81\00:21:18.65 like fish taken in a cruel net, like birds caught in a snare, 00:21:18.68\00:21:23.55 so the sons and daughters of men are snared in an evil." 00:21:23.58\00:21:28.59 There it is same word. 00:21:28.62\00:21:30.16 "In an evil time, when it falls suddenly." 00:21:30.19\00:21:35.15 And I must tell you I much more inebriate by that word suddenly 00:21:35.18\00:21:38.82 then attracted to that word evil. 00:21:38.85\00:21:40.46 "When it fall suddenly, suddenly upon them." 00:21:40.49\00:21:47.87 What does suddenly mean? 00:21:47.90\00:21:50.04 What does suddenly mean? 00:21:50.07\00:21:54.20 Suddenly is what happened late Sunday night 00:21:54.23\00:21:56.77 somewhere over the Atlantic as that ill-fated 00:21:56.80\00:22:00.74 Air France flight 447 suddenly, suddenly disappeared. 00:22:00.77\00:22:08.47 I saw it in my blog today, 00:22:08.50\00:22:10.47 scientist are calling it this intertropical convergence zone 00:22:10.50\00:22:13.72 and nearly continues ban of colliding weather systems 00:22:13.75\00:22:15.88 that stretches across the Atlantic at the equator 00:22:15.91\00:22:18.65 from Africa all the way across to South America. 00:22:18.68\00:22:24.14 Apparently this ICZ is the hot bed of some of the 00:22:24.17\00:22:27.84 earth's most violent storms. 00:22:27.87\00:22:30.17 Those thunderheads can stretch from sea level upto 60,000 feet 00:22:30.20\00:22:36.06 colliding weather systems leading some to speculate 00:22:36.09\00:22:38.76 that the aircraft flew into that brewing meteorological cauldron 00:22:38.79\00:22:42.52 and suffered a catastrophic event that's snuffed it off 00:22:42.55\00:22:45.04 the radar screen out of life gone. 00:22:45.07\00:22:47.60 And by the way the debris they found this week 00:22:47.63\00:22:49.34 it's not Air France debris. 00:22:49.37\00:22:51.60 We have no idea where that plane went down, 00:22:51.63\00:22:55.14 228 people gone. 00:22:55.17\00:22:56.84 You're sleeping, look I flying to Italy tomorrow, 00:22:56.87\00:22:59.46 have to fly overnight across the Atlantic, 00:22:59.49\00:23:01.66 I'm thinking about this. 00:23:01.69\00:23:05.05 You're sound asleep 00:23:05.08\00:23:06.57 and the next thing you know all hell breaks loose, 00:23:06.60\00:23:08.49 the electrical systems shuts down 00:23:08.52\00:23:09.87 we didn't get that computer notification boom 00:23:09.90\00:23:12.50 and now you're flying down. 00:23:12.53\00:23:15.54 You can't imagine suddenly 00:23:15.57\00:23:18.34 that's what suddenly means like that. 00:23:18.37\00:23:21.08 That's what suddenly means. 00:23:21.11\00:23:22.86 The wise king Solomon ruefully reminds us 00:23:22.89\00:23:26.72 that there is a wild card in the hand of faith 00:23:26.75\00:23:30.17 and it is a wild card 00:23:34.13\00:23:35.27 that the sons and daughters of Issachar today 00:23:35.30\00:23:38.11 must be acutely cognize enough 00:23:38.14\00:23:40.86 if we're gonna give correct analysis to this generation. 00:23:40.89\00:23:44.77 Would you jot it down please, here's the wild card. 00:23:44.80\00:23:48.50 "Regarding the Issachar factor's 00:23:48.53\00:23:49.82 'understanding the signs of the times,' 00:23:49.85\00:23:51.66 the 'wild card' in God's hand is called suddenly." 00:23:51.69\00:23:54.01 Just write it out suddenly. 00:23:54.04\00:23:55.58 That word is not unique to Ecclesiastes 00:23:55.61\00:23:57.42 as we're gonna note just now. 00:23:57.45\00:23:58.74 But write it down the wild card in the hand of faith 00:23:58.77\00:24:01.91 calling in the hand of God is a card suddenly, 00:24:01.94\00:24:04.10 when that card is played suddenly 00:24:04.13\00:24:05.94 the human paradigm shifts irrevocably shifts. 00:24:05.97\00:24:09.09 Never forget that in the hand is a wild card 00:24:09.12\00:24:13.20 entitled suddenly. 00:24:13.23\00:24:15.57 Let's go to the New Testament. 00:24:15.60\00:24:16.85 New Testament collaborates the very crucial point 00:24:16.88\00:24:19.76 that Solomon is making for 00:24:19.79\00:24:20.82 Issachar factor kind of thinking. 00:24:20.85\00:24:22.37 Go to the 1 Thessalonians in the New Testament. 00:24:22.40\00:24:24.95 Take a look at this. 00:24:24.98\00:24:26.57 If you're using a pew Bible it'll be page 796. 00:24:26.60\00:24:30.54 1 Thessalonians, 00:24:30.57\00:24:33.73 can't miss it here, cannot miss it. 00:24:33.76\00:24:36.39 1 Thessalonians Chapter 5 let's pick it up in verse 1 00:24:36.42\00:24:38.84 "But concerning the times and the seasons." 00:24:38.87\00:24:41.56 All right, you want to know about the times 00:24:41.59\00:24:43.71 that we're living in. 00:24:43.74\00:24:44.77 "Concerning the times and the seasons, 00:24:44.80\00:24:45.94 you have no need that I should write to you. 00:24:45.97\00:24:48.37 For you yourselves know perfectly 00:24:48.40\00:24:49.80 that the day of the Lord." 00:24:49.83\00:24:50.86 That would be Christ return. 00:24:50.89\00:24:52.09 "The day of the Lord so comes as a thief in the night." 00:24:52.12\00:24:57.00 Verse 3 "For when they say, 'Peace and safety!' 00:24:57.03\00:25:01.27 Then suddenly, suddenly." 00:25:01.30\00:25:05.92 NIV translates it suddenly. 00:25:05.95\00:25:08.09 New King James says sudden destruction. 00:25:08.12\00:25:11.64 "Sudden destruction comes upon them, 00:25:11.67\00:25:13.13 as labor pains upon a pregnant woman. 00:25:13.16\00:25:15.27 And they shall not escape." 00:25:15.30\00:25:16.97 I need to tell you about-- first fill it in. 00:25:17.00\00:25:19.57 When they say peace and safety then sudden, 00:25:19.60\00:25:22.31 the New King James then sudden destruction comes upon them. 00:25:22.34\00:25:26.46 I do need to tell you that this thief in a night simile 00:25:26.49\00:25:29.84 some people read that and say, 00:25:29.87\00:25:31.18 that means Jesus is coming secretly. 00:25:31.21\00:25:33.26 No it doesn't mean that Jesus is coming secretly, 00:25:33.29\00:25:34.92 it means Jesus is coming unexpectedly. 00:25:34.95\00:25:36.92 How could-- because Paul illustrates it 00:25:36.95\00:25:38.77 with the woman in labor. 00:25:38.80\00:25:40.12 Is it a secret to the woman in labor that she is in labor? 00:25:40.15\00:25:42.45 No, it is not a secret. 00:25:42.48\00:25:44.02 She knows very well what is happening. 00:25:44.05\00:25:46.04 You can't about secret, it's unexpected. 00:25:46.07\00:25:47.70 I didn't think I was having the baby right now, Rebecca. 00:25:47.73\00:25:53.28 Suddenly, suddenly. 00:25:53.31\00:25:56.93 The only other place by the way that this Greek word is used 00:25:56.96\00:26:00.22 in the New Testament is, in this words of Christ 00:26:00.25\00:26:03.25 describing His second coming. 00:26:03.28\00:26:04.31 We will put it on the screen for you. 00:26:04.34\00:26:05.37 Luke 21:34 Jesus says "But take heed to yourselves, 00:26:05.40\00:26:08.59 lest your hearts be weighed down with carousing, 00:26:08.62\00:26:11.09 drunkenness, and cares of this life, and that Day, 00:26:11.12\00:26:13.56 " capital "D" Day it's the Lord's day 00:26:13.59\00:26:15.71 it's always the return of Christ. 00:26:15.74\00:26:17.23 "And that Day come upon you unexpectedly." 00:26:17.26\00:26:20.07 Notice the last line now. 00:26:20.10\00:26:21.73 "For it will come as a snare 00:26:21.76\00:26:24.47 on all those who dwell on the face of the whole earth." 00:26:24.50\00:26:27.28 The identical language that Solomon uses 00:26:27.31\00:26:29.50 they are caught in a snare, 00:26:29.53\00:26:30.73 they are entrapped, and suddenly. 00:26:30.76\00:26:32.97 Christ uses to say-- to say that's the way it'll be 00:26:33.00\00:26:38.18 when I return. 00:26:38.21\00:26:39.33 In fact, would you jot that down please? 00:26:39.36\00:26:40.45 But Jesus speaking here "But take heed 00:26:40.48\00:26:42.30 lest that Day come upon you unexpectedly." 00:26:42.33\00:26:44.96 Same word as suddenly. 00:26:44.99\00:26:46.96 "Like a trap." 00:26:46.99\00:26:48.43 Identical language from the wise King Solomon. 00:26:48.46\00:26:51.08 Clearly, ladies and gentlemen, the Issachar factor 00:26:51.11\00:26:53.60 presciently calculates its understanding of the times 00:26:53.63\00:26:56.03 by remembering the wild card in God's hand 00:26:56.06\00:26:58.98 and that card is called suddenly. 00:26:59.01\00:27:01.14 The reason this is so important, 00:27:01.17\00:27:02.24 because some of you think you got things figured out. 00:27:02.27\00:27:03.84 You say, I can see this trance, 00:27:03.87\00:27:05.10 I know where things are going and you know 00:27:05.13\00:27:06.48 and actually things are improving now. 00:27:06.51\00:27:08.46 Just remember no matter how the trance may appear 00:27:08.49\00:27:11.63 there is a wild card in the hand of faith and it is sudden 00:27:11.66\00:27:14.87 and when it is played the whole paradigm 00:27:14.90\00:27:19.65 is permanently shifted. 00:27:19.68\00:27:22.79 Do you ever wake up, do you-- this is happened to you I know. 00:27:22.82\00:27:26.88 You wake up in the middle of a night 00:27:26.91\00:27:29.14 feeling all refreshing like man I've slept a whole night 00:27:29.17\00:27:31.50 let's begin and you look at the clock, oh good night, 00:27:31.53\00:27:35.37 it's time for more good night. 00:27:35.40\00:27:37.97 Isn't that just awful? 00:27:38.00\00:27:39.93 You think you're ready to get up. 00:27:39.96\00:27:41.23 Well, this happened to me this week Monday. 00:27:41.26\00:27:44.24 I woke up feeling refreshed 00:27:44.27\00:27:46.92 and then I looked at the clock I said, 00:27:46.95\00:27:48.02 oh no, 3:00 something please. 00:27:48.05\00:27:53.03 I knew that if I stayed in bed I'll be tossing and turning 00:27:53.06\00:27:55.68 and then I would wake here up so I said, okay I'll get up. 00:27:55.71\00:27:58.51 Went down stairs, I keep a blanket down there in my study 00:27:58.54\00:28:02.05 and wrapped up in that blanket in the dark 00:28:02.08\00:28:03.73 and I decided to have some time to pray. 00:28:03.76\00:28:06.82 Now I understand I don't believe 00:28:06.85\00:28:09.71 that the messages or strong impressions 00:28:09.74\00:28:12.20 that God gives me are necessarily intended for you, 00:28:12.23\00:28:16.38 I understand that. 00:28:16.41\00:28:17.58 We all have our prayers lives, 00:28:17.61\00:28:18.71 we commune with God accordingly, 00:28:18.74\00:28:20.66 you commune with Him the way you do and I do as well, 00:28:20.69\00:28:23.29 but I must tell you that as I pray there in the darkness, 00:28:23.32\00:28:29.26 I was praying among other prayer focuses, 00:28:29.29\00:28:32.66 I was praying for this Issachar factor. 00:28:32.69\00:28:34.57 Not just for me I'm praying for you. 00:28:34.60\00:28:36.99 It's still good if just one person has an Issachar factor 00:28:37.02\00:28:39.53 ability to discern. 00:28:39.56\00:28:40.85 So I'm praying that God will give it to all of us 00:28:40.88\00:28:43.21 that will not, that will be a community 00:28:43.24\00:28:45.20 that is able to accurately know the times 00:28:45.23\00:28:47.58 and then know how to respond accordingly. 00:28:47.61\00:28:50.72 So while I'm praying this impression, 00:28:50.75\00:28:53.64 you know, this sense 00:28:53.67\00:28:59.81 came in me 00:28:59.84\00:29:03.03 that no matter how you read the tea leaves today, 00:29:03.06\00:29:08.57 because I can say you one thing 00:29:08.60\00:29:09.63 and you'll come along and say I got this from the web 00:29:09.66\00:29:10.96 and it's the exact opposite. 00:29:10.99\00:29:12.02 I understand how that works. 00:29:12.05\00:29:13.89 But no matter how the tea leaves might read today 00:29:13.92\00:29:16.53 there is the inescapable reality that human society 00:29:16.56\00:29:19.87 as we know it is headed like the ill-fated Flight 447 00:29:19.90\00:29:25.18 into a maelstrom on this planet. 00:29:25.21\00:29:28.36 Were too low on the horizon of time we cannot see it, 00:29:28.39\00:29:32.35 but if I read and study my Bible correctly 00:29:32.38\00:29:34.65 and I believe I do then before the return of Christ 00:29:34.68\00:29:38.51 there will be a massive global crisis 00:29:38.54\00:29:43.07 that will draw every nation on earth into it. 00:29:43.10\00:29:47.27 Look at, that's not rocket science, 00:29:47.30\00:29:50.00 it's not like oh, Dwight, great revelation. 00:29:50.03\00:29:53.01 The Bible has been saying that, 00:29:53.04\00:29:55.84 but I'm not realizing 00:29:55.87\00:29:57.84 that in the hand of faith is a card 00:29:57.87\00:30:00.84 that can literally overnight shift the paradigm. 00:30:00.87\00:30:07.74 Jesus is making the point of course, 00:30:07.77\00:30:09.36 very clearly and I want you to not read it on the screen, 00:30:09.39\00:30:11.65 but see it in your own Bible. 00:30:11.68\00:30:12.90 So go back to what's called the little apocalypse 00:30:12.93\00:30:15.80 this is the signs of the times Chapter Matthew 24. 00:30:15.83\00:30:18.48 Jesus is making the point take a look at this 00:30:18.51\00:30:20.95 then I want to share something that came to me. 00:30:20.98\00:30:22.83 Just that was sent to me this last week 00:30:22.86\00:30:24.13 I'll share with you see what you think. 00:30:24.16\00:30:25.81 This is Matthew 24:37 red letter words 00:30:25.84\00:30:29.23 if you have a Red Lettered Bible. 00:30:29.26\00:30:30.73 Jesus speaking here Matthew 24:37 page 668, 00:30:30.76\00:30:37.29 "But as the days of Noah were, 00:30:37.32\00:30:39.34 so also will the coming of the Son of Man be. 00:30:39.37\00:30:43.97 For as in the days before the flood." 00:30:44.00\00:30:45.37 Now watch this. 00:30:45.40\00:30:46.72 "As in the days before the flood, 00:30:46.75\00:30:49.55 they were eating and drinking." 00:30:49.58\00:30:51.06 Anything wrong with eating and drinking? 00:30:51.09\00:30:52.12 Nope. 00:30:52.15\00:30:53.18 "They were marrying and giving in marriage." 00:30:53.21\00:30:54.47 Anything wrong in marrying and giving in marriage? 00:30:54.50\00:30:55.96 Of course not. 00:30:55.99\00:30:57.41 Life as usual is proceeding that's the point. 00:30:57.44\00:31:01.89 "They were marrying and giving in marriage, 00:31:01.92\00:31:03.88 until the day" until the day "that Noah entered the ark, 00:31:03.91\00:31:08.84 and they did not know until the flood came 00:31:08.87\00:31:12.41 and took them all away, 00:31:12.44\00:31:14.36 so also will the coming of the Son of Man be." 00:31:14.39\00:31:18.14 Ladies and gentlemen, 00:31:18.17\00:31:20.34 the card, the wild card suddenly, 00:31:20.37\00:31:24.11 God suddenly played and it was over, 00:31:24.14\00:31:29.10 everything was just going on, 00:31:29.13\00:31:30.51 hunky-dory well, it's a great isn't it? 00:31:30.54\00:31:33.14 Yeah, looks like the economy is coming up. 00:31:33.17\00:31:34.60 Hey, hi-five on that, boom. 00:31:34.63\00:31:39.44 That's the point, that's the point. 00:31:39.47\00:31:42.60 Matthew Henry-- boy, is the line 00:31:42.63\00:31:45.04 "Though God bare a great wild He will not bare always." 00:31:45.07\00:31:51.65 What we get by with today 00:31:51.68\00:31:54.33 and may face curtains tomorrow, that's the point. 00:31:54.36\00:31:58.92 Noah in the flood wild card, Sodom and Gomorrah overnight, 00:31:58.95\00:32:02.33 wild card just like that. 00:32:02.36\00:32:04.71 Over night, September 11, 2001 just like that wild card, 00:32:04.74\00:32:10.31 life forever on this planet has changed. 00:32:10.34\00:32:11.84 We can never go back in your dreams, 00:32:11.87\00:32:16.48 that's Jesus point. 00:32:16.51\00:32:18.13 You want to talk about an earthquake it could happen, 00:32:18.16\00:32:20.07 you want to talk about hurricane we've seen it happen, 00:32:20.10\00:32:22.01 you want to talk about tsunami pick your pick 00:32:22.04\00:32:23.69 take you pick Mother Nature, political nature 00:32:23.72\00:32:26.81 it doesn't matter overnight the paradigm shifts. 00:32:26.84\00:32:29.90 Now here's the question. 00:32:29.93\00:32:31.40 Could it happen, here where I'm going, 00:32:31.43\00:32:34.93 all right, could it happen economically? 00:32:34.96\00:32:41.27 Could it happen economically? 00:32:41.30\00:32:45.79 So I subscribe to two financial news letters. 00:32:45.82\00:32:49.96 One of which included a 24 page paper, 00:32:49.99\00:32:53.68 it came to me just a few days ago 00:32:53.71\00:32:55.39 written by Horace Brock 00:32:55.42\00:32:57.82 he is Ph.D. is from Princeton, 00:32:57.85\00:32:59.79 his Ph.D. is in mathematical economics 00:32:59.82\00:33:01.96 and political philosophy Harvard 00:33:01.99\00:33:03.96 and then he went to Harvard 00:33:03.99\00:33:05.02 then to Princeton to become an economist. 00:33:05.05\00:33:07.12 Twenty four page paper was included 00:33:07.15\00:33:08.78 in this financial news letter 00:33:08.81\00:33:10.29 I get so I ran the paper off and read it. 00:33:10.32\00:33:14.08 I want to read just a few lines to you. 00:33:14.11\00:33:16.97 Could it happen economically? So here's a deal. 00:33:17.00\00:33:18.92 He's looking at the ratio between debt and GDP, 00:33:18.95\00:33:23.83 the debt and GDP ratio. 00:33:23.86\00:33:25.20 You'll understand about debt. 00:33:25.23\00:33:27.02 This nation by the way is getting 00:33:27.05\00:33:28.08 further and further in debt 00:33:28.11\00:33:29.17 as we sit here, you understand it. 00:33:29.20\00:33:31.47 GDP, Grows Domestic Product 00:33:31.50\00:33:33.37 that's how they measure earth's economic boost the world over. 00:33:33.40\00:33:36.75 Every nation has a GDP it can be in the positive, 00:33:36.78\00:33:39.71 it can be in the negative. 00:33:39.74\00:33:41.21 Incidentally today globally it's minus 1%. 00:33:41.24\00:33:45.10 Now here is Brock's concern 00:33:45.13\00:33:46.72 that if our debt continues to mount 00:33:46.75\00:33:48.86 and the GDP instead of rising with the debt descends 00:33:48.89\00:33:51.66 in spite of the debt we're looking at a meltdown. 00:33:51.69\00:33:56.24 And then he makes these, he uses words 00:33:56.27\00:33:58.56 that you can understand with the Issachar factor 00:33:58.59\00:34:00.50 I immediately spot. 00:34:00.53\00:34:01.95 See if you catch these words, all right. 00:34:01.98\00:34:03.42 Let me read this to you. 00:34:03.45\00:34:04.48 "A year ago even six months ago the great debate centered 00:34:04.51\00:34:06.49 on whether the credit market crisis 00:34:06.52\00:34:08.38 would precipitate either a US or global recession. 00:34:08.41\00:34:10.90 A majority predicted a manageable recession 00:34:10.93\00:34:13.08 in the US, but nowhere else 00:34:13.11\00:34:14.62 with the possible exception of the UK." 00:34:14.65\00:34:16.74 Surprise, surprise. 00:34:16.77\00:34:18.27 "Uncertainty it was great 00:34:18.30\00:34:19.33 and kept increasing until recently, but no longer. 00:34:19.36\00:34:21.41 The good news today is that this uncertainty has disappeared 00:34:21.44\00:34:24.79 because everybody is in it now." 00:34:24.82\00:34:26.75 No more uncertainty. 00:34:26.78\00:34:28.83 Now listen two way 00:34:28.86\00:34:30.37 "the G7 economies are all in recession." 00:34:30.40\00:34:34.48 The most powerful economies on earth are all in recession. 00:34:34.51\00:34:37.78 "And more astonishingly the economy of the planet earth 00:34:37.81\00:34:40.14 is growing at about a minus 1% or less. 00:34:40.17\00:34:43.53 Earning are crumbling, global trade." 00:34:43.56\00:34:44.93 This is just weeks ago. 00:34:44.96\00:34:45.99 "Global trade has decrease by nearly 10% 00:34:46.02\00:34:48.14 rising global unemployment for tokens 00:34:48.17\00:34:50.02 social unrest in many quarters, 00:34:50.05\00:34:51.46 industrial production has dropped more than ever 00:34:51.49\00:34:53.00 before an excess capacity is rising in almost 00:34:53.03\00:34:55.71 all manufacturing sectors globally." 00:34:55.74\00:34:57.62 Now here is what caught my eye. 00:34:57.65\00:35:00.30 "All in all we have witnessed problems 00:35:00.33\00:35:02.72 that originated within the United States 00:35:02.75\00:35:05.13 give rise to global scenarios that were virtually unthinkable 00:35:05.16\00:35:10.41 as recently as the summer of 2008. 00:35:10.44\00:35:16.09 And do so now with blinding, blinding speed." 00:35:16.12\00:35:23.46 Two words, leap off 00:35:23.49\00:35:25.86 this economist analysis of the times. 00:35:25.89\00:35:29.05 Blinding, blinding speed. 00:35:29.08\00:35:32.34 When they say everything is coming up raises, 00:35:37.45\00:35:39.20 wow, this thing is turned around. 00:35:39.23\00:35:40.50 Man, hallelujah. 00:35:40.53\00:35:42.18 Remember the two words blinding speed. 00:35:42.21\00:35:46.48 A hundred years ago a century go these prescient words 00:35:46.51\00:35:48.57 were written wound you fill them in your study guide please. 00:35:48.60\00:35:51.57 A hundred years ago, 00:35:51.60\00:35:52.67 "Great changes are soon to take place in the world, 00:35:52.70\00:35:55.12 and the final movements will be rapid." 00:35:55.15\00:35:58.56 Blinding speed, "rapid ones." 00:35:58.59\00:36:02.80 Keep your pen moving. 00:36:02.83\00:36:03.86 "Beware the wild card 'blinding speed'" 00:36:03.89\00:36:07.72 also called "suddenly." 00:36:07.75\00:36:10.82 Beware don't you factor your journey in the future 00:36:10.85\00:36:14.25 without remembering there is that wild card. 00:36:14.28\00:36:16.90 Oh, put it out, you know, 00:36:16.93\00:36:17.96 I know I want to get little deeper with Jesus. 00:36:17.99\00:36:19.82 I know I want to grow in God, but you know what, 00:36:19.85\00:36:22.07 the day will come when I have a little more time. 00:36:22.10\00:36:24.41 Don't put it off, blinding speed, please, please. 00:36:24.44\00:36:30.15 This isn't rocket science. Blinding speed. 00:36:30.18\00:36:34.85 Oh, Dwight, I should we be afraid? 00:36:34.88\00:36:37.89 Oh, please don't be afraid.
