We traveled for hours to get to this village. 00:00:01.96\00:00:03.30 Not only are they listening to the radio 00:00:03.30\00:00:05.26 but they're broadcasting it. 00:00:05.26\00:00:06.63 You've go to stay tuned 00:00:06.63\00:00:08.00 for the rest of the story. 00:00:08.00\00:00:09.06 What am I looking at here, I mean mountains 00:00:45.96\00:00:48.83 and I can hear that waterfall in the 00:00:48.83\00:00:50.66 background. What's this area called? 00:00:50.66\00:00:52.26 We are now upon top of the edge 00:00:52.90\00:00:55.40 of the Rift Valley and down below 00:00:55.40\00:00:58.03 we are looking at Lake Manyara national park 00:00:58.03\00:01:01.26 between the Rift Valley and the lake 00:01:03.33\00:01:04.83 that is where the Lake Manyara 00:01:04.83\00:01:06.90 National Park is. You said Rift Valley, 00:01:06.90\00:01:09.73 the Rift Valley goes what, 3000 miles long. 00:01:09.73\00:01:12.46 In fact, for the people who have 00:01:12.46\00:01:14.10 been up on the moon. They say that 00:01:14.10\00:01:16.43 clearly two things have been 00:01:16.43\00:01:18.06 spotted from the moon and that is the 00:01:18.06\00:01:19.70 great Rift Valley and the great wall 00:01:19.70\00:01:22.93 of china, of course. 00:01:22.93\00:01:23.90 The great Rift Valley is a name 00:01:25.40\00:01:27.06 given to the continuous geographic 00:01:27.06\00:01:28.96 trench approximately 3700 miles in link 00:01:28.96\00:01:32.10 that runs from Northern Sierra 00:01:32.10\00:01:34.00 in Southwest Asia to Central Mozambique 00:01:34.00\00:01:37.00 in East Africa. The Rift Valley escarpment 00:01:37.00\00:01:40.16 forms a noteworthy landmark and 00:01:40.16\00:01:42.30 provides a spectacular backdrop to 00:01:42.30\00:01:44.60 Lake Manyara. From the escarpment 00:01:44.60\00:01:46.56 of the crater highlands looking down 00:01:46.56\00:01:48.16 on the lake you can see the giraffes 00:01:48.16\00:01:50.10 and elephants eating the lush vegetation. 00:01:50.10\00:01:52.20 The lake provides great opportunities 00:01:52.20\00:01:54.60 for ornithologists keen on viewing and 00:01:54.60\00:01:57.13 observing over 300 migratory birds 00:01:57.13\00:01:59.86 including Flamingo. Just out of curiosity, 00:01:59.86\00:02:03.93 in your safari all the years you've done 00:02:05.10\00:02:06.90 safari, is there one story that really 00:02:06.90\00:02:10.26 sticks out in your mind as being 00:02:10.26\00:02:11.83 a really wild story about people on safari 00:02:11.83\00:02:16.13 or. Yeah, a lot of things are happening, 00:02:16.13\00:02:19.56 a lot of dangers are happening. 00:02:19.56\00:02:22.03 There was a woman, which by the time 00:02:22.03\00:02:24.76 of rainy season get attacked by a lion 00:02:24.76\00:02:27.30 here in this park, because their car 00:02:27.30\00:02:30.43 did get stuck, so she moved out of the car 00:02:30.43\00:02:33.93 following the river, sitting some where, 00:02:33.93\00:02:36.20 where she has been attacked, fortunately 00:02:36.20\00:02:38.80 the drivers have been brave enough and 00:02:38.80\00:02:41.76 they took a shovel and hit the lion, 00:02:41.76\00:02:46.13 they break the shovel, but they manage 00:02:46.13\00:02:48.26 to save the woman, and the lion went away. 00:02:48.26\00:02:50.50 Are you ready do that for us, 00:02:50.50\00:02:52.20 you're gonna protect. Well you don't 00:02:52.20\00:02:53.90 have to worry, I'll really take care 00:02:53.90\00:02:55.73 of you and that's why I'm your guide. Alright 00:02:55.73\00:02:58.56 Safaris have been popularized 00:03:00.83\00:03:02.46 in film and literature through grand 00:03:02.46\00:03:04.23 tales of adventure, romance and thrills. 00:03:04.23\00:03:06.43 But what was it really like to go on 00:03:06.43\00:03:09.23 safari a hundred years ago. 00:03:09.23\00:03:11.26 The word safari comes from the word 00:03:12.40\00:03:14.16 'Safar', which is an Arabic verb 00:03:14.16\00:03:16.53 roughly translated 'to make a journey.' 00:03:16.53\00:03:18.80 What is missing from the origin of the word 00:03:18.80\00:03:21.26 is the connotations of tents, 00:03:21.26\00:03:23.00 backpacks, hiking and hunting. 00:03:23.00\00:03:25.43 The earliest safaris recorded were 00:03:25.43\00:03:29.50 those of the trade between Arabic and 00:03:29.50\00:03:31.20 African cultures. Many prized items 00:03:31.20\00:03:33.60 were sold and traded including slaves. 00:03:33.60\00:03:36.50 Eventually the safari changed from 00:03:38.00\00:03:39.66 a journey for trade purposes for one of 00:03:39.66\00:03:42.06 adventure and exploration. 00:03:42.06\00:03:43.50 In late 19th and early 20th century 00:03:45.86\00:03:48.23 people like William Burchell, Thomas 00:03:48.23\00:03:50.66 Ayres and Gustav Fischer helped redefine 00:03:50.66\00:03:53.83 the purpose of the safari, and were 00:03:53.83\00:03:55.93 instrumental in identifying several 00:03:55.93\00:03:57.93 species of animals. 00:03:57.93\00:03:58.96 Every year we receive well over 00:04:04.66\00:04:06.23 a hundred thousand emails, letters 00:04:06.23\00:04:08.20 and phone calls from listeners all over 00:04:08.20\00:04:10.26 the world. Every one is absolutely 00:04:10.26\00:04:12.50 exciting and from time to time our 00:04:12.50\00:04:14.53 AWR team wants to get out there 00:04:14.53\00:04:16.16 and see where these people are, to meet 00:04:16.16\00:04:17.90 them in personal on the ground, 00:04:17.90\00:04:19.13 to understand their needs, 00:04:19.13\00:04:21.40 to understand what touches their lives. 00:04:21.40\00:04:23.23 Well today we're traveling to a village 00:04:23.23\00:04:26.00 that is so far out there. I mean we 00:04:26.00\00:04:27.56 traveled for hours literally on goat paths 00:04:27.56\00:04:30.36 and almost no trail, no roads, certainly 00:04:30.36\00:04:33.63 no road at all. But it's been very exciting 00:04:33.63\00:04:36.56 to get here, because the airways get here 00:04:36.56\00:04:39.03 a lot faster than we do. I understand we're 00:04:39.03\00:04:41.56 going to find a whole group of listeners, 00:04:41.56\00:04:43.20 who started out just simply listening and 00:04:43.20\00:04:45.33 now their whole lives have been 00:04:45.33\00:04:46.76 changed, changed because 00:04:46.76\00:04:48.50 of the airways of the AWR. 00:04:48.50\00:04:50.16 Is he the one that the AWR person came 00:05:02.96\00:05:07.03 clear Adventist village and said you 00:05:07.03\00:05:09.10 should listen to the radio. 00:05:09.10\00:05:10.20 He is among the people that our 00:05:10.20\00:05:13.43 church members came to introduce our 00:05:13.43\00:05:16.33 programs. Some of them listen to these 00:05:16.33\00:05:18.63 programs while they're at home, 00:05:18.63\00:05:20.33 and some of them come close by. 00:05:20.33\00:05:22.53 And how often do they do this, 00:05:22.53\00:05:24.06 how often does he hook it up? 00:05:24.06\00:05:25.60 Foreign Language . 00:05:25.60\00:05:33.40 They are tuning to AWR programs everyday. 00:05:33.40\00:05:35.90 Now how long, how long ago did they 00:05:37.53\00:05:39.10 start doing this? Putting these programs 00:05:39.10\00:05:42.13 through the mega phone. 00:05:42.13\00:05:43.60 They started doing it last year. 00:05:43.60\00:05:46.00 Does everybody like the program now? 00:05:47.33\00:05:49.00 Foreign Language . 00:05:49.00\00:05:55.70 They say they like them so much. 00:05:55.70\00:05:57.50 Which, which program did everyone 00:05:57.50\00:06:00.26 like the best that, the family or the Bible 00:06:00.26\00:06:02.90 or what touches them the most? 00:06:02.90\00:06:04.80 We really enjoy the programs that 00:06:07.60\00:06:09.56 help us understand the word of God. 00:06:09.56\00:06:11.53 We also enjoy the programs on livestock 00:06:11.53\00:06:14.70 keeping and religious music. 00:06:14.70\00:06:16.46 So they get everything from the AWR 00:06:16.46\00:06:19.50 Ngorongoro programs. How to keep livestock, 00:06:19.50\00:06:21.50 family programs, the Bible, a little of 00:06:21.50\00:06:25.40 everything. How has it affected other 00:06:25.40\00:06:27.56 people in the village? To the south and west 00:11:37.46\00:11:40.16 lie volcanic islands, including the famous 00:11:40.16\00:11:42.56 Ngorongoro crater, to the northwest it 00:11:42.56\00:11:45.16 adjoins the Serengeti National Park and it's 00:11:45.16\00:11:47.70 contiguous with the southern plains, 00:11:47.70\00:11:49.60 which are kept open to wild life. 00:11:49.60\00:11:51.03 The annual migration passes through 00:11:52.10\00:11:53.80 in Ngorongoro with wildebeest and zebras 00:11:53.80\00:11:56.13 moving south of the area in December 00:11:56.13\00:11:58.06 and moving north in June. 00:11:58.06\00:11:59.90 This movement changes seasonal with the rains, 00:11:59.90\00:12:03.03 but the migration will reverse almost 00:12:03.03\00:12:04.86 the entire plains in search of food. 00:12:04.86\00:12:06.96 In summer enormous numbers of 00:12:06.96\00:12:09.36 Serengeti migrants pass through the 00:12:09.36\00:12:11.00 plains of the reserve, including 1.7 million 00:12:11.00\00:12:14.50 wildebeest, 260000 zebra, 00:12:14.50\00:12:17.50 and 470000 gazelles. 00:12:17.50\00:12:20.33 For thousands of years a succession of 00:12:27.60\00:12:29.83 cattle herding people moved into the area, 00:12:29.83\00:12:32.16 lived here for a time and then moved on. 00:12:32.16\00:12:34.93 Sometimes forced out by other tribes. 00:12:34.93\00:12:37.83 And Ngorongoro conservation area aims 00:12:39.06\00:12:41.20 to maintain the historic balance of people 00:12:41.20\00:12:43.56 and nature in a way which has not been 00:12:43.56\00:12:46.20 possible in many parts of Africa. 00:12:46.20\00:12:48.36 About 200 years ago the Maasai arrived 00:12:49.63\00:12:52.30 and had since colonized the area in 00:12:52.30\00:12:54.30 substantial numbers. Their traditional way 00:12:54.30\00:12:56.73 of life allowing them to live in harmony 00:12:56.73\00:12:58.80 with the wild life and the environment. 00:12:58.80\00:13:01.20 Today there are some 42,000 Maasai 00:13:01.20\00:13:04.23 pastoralists living in the Ngorongoro conservation 00:13:04.23\00:13:07.30 area with their cattle, 00:13:07.30\00:13:08.56 donkeys, goats and sheep. 00:13:08.56\00:13:10.16 During the rains they move out on to 00:13:11.06\00:13:12.63 the open plains; in the dry season 00:13:12.63\00:13:15.00 they move onto the adjacent 00:13:15.00\00:13:16.33 woodlands and mountain slopes. 00:13:16.33\00:13:18.00 Foreign Language . 00:13:18.00\00:13:36.13 Oh here we bring her greetings from 00:13:41.03\00:13:42.53 Adventist World Radio around the world. 00:13:42.53\00:13:45.03 Does she listen to the program? 00:13:46.66\00:13:48.40 Adventist World Radio. Praise the Lord. 00:13:52.13\00:13:53.86 You may be one of our oldest listeners. 00:13:53.86\00:13:56.86 And the elders believe she is a 110 years old. 00:13:56.86\00:13:59.73 Yeah. Wow, tell her it's a real 00:13:59.73\00:14:02.00 privilege to meet her. 00:14:02.00\00:14:03.13 Okay what is your name 00:14:04.20\00:14:08.03 Foreign Language . 00:14:08.03\00:14:11.06 My name is Garnisi Garnisi, Garnisi, 00:14:11.06\00:14:12.76 Garnisi, Garnisi. Could you ask her 00:14:12.76\00:14:16.00 if she, she listens to the program 00:14:16.00\00:14:18.26 we heard. Does she enjoys the program? 00:14:18.26\00:14:20.23 Foreign Language . 00:14:20.23\00:14:29.13 She enjoys the program. Very good, 00:14:29.13\00:14:30.33 very good. Well, tell her thank you 00:14:30.33\00:14:33.33 so much that she's allowed us 00:14:33.33\00:14:34.80 come into her home. I'm not sure 00:14:34.80\00:14:37.60 there was a way to positively identify her 00:14:37.60\00:14:40.06 age but it was a privilege to meet this 00:14:40.06\00:14:42.13 lady of ancient cultural history. 00:14:42.13\00:14:44.20 But, as we toured her village. 00:14:44.20\00:14:46.20 I imagine that things have not actually 00:14:46.20\00:14:48.13 changed much in the last one hundred 00:14:48.13\00:14:50.23 plus years until now. Praise God that 00:14:50.23\00:14:53.56 the Holy Spirit has gained entrance 00:14:53.56\00:14:55.26 to not only the village but the 00:14:55.26\00:14:57.43 hearts and lives of the Maasai people. 00:14:57.43\00:14:59.80 AWR has a unique ministry that reaches 00:15:03.06\00:15:05.40 deep into the heart of Africa. 00:15:05.40\00:15:07.03 In these remote areas anyone 00:15:07.03\00:15:09.30 who can afford a radio has one, 00:15:09.30\00:15:11.23 which maybe their only contact with the 00:15:11.23\00:15:14.03 outside world. So often, we hear of 00:15:14.03\00:15:17.36 people who accidentally find AWR programs. 00:15:17.36\00:15:20.50 Broadcasting over 80 languages, 00:15:20.50\00:15:23.80 AWR is in a unique position to reach 00:15:23.80\00:15:26.83 people that would never hear the 00:15:26.83\00:15:28.30 Gospel any other way. 00:15:28.30\00:15:30.30 As they tune their radio listening 00:15:30.30\00:15:32.60 for any program in their language, 00:15:32.60\00:15:34.26 when they hear a familiar sound, 00:15:34.26\00:15:36.00 they stop. The Holy Spirit guides 00:15:36.00\00:15:38.76 their hand and ear to hear the voice of hope. 00:15:38.76\00:15:41.16 Without Christ they're in dire 00:15:41.16\00:15:43.83 need of hope. And when hear the 00:15:43.83\00:15:45.26 message of someone who loves them. 00:15:45.26\00:15:47.10 Their interest grows and they make it 00:15:47.10\00:15:49.43 a point to listen daily. How wonderful 00:15:49.43\00:15:53.40 it is to know that tens of thousands 00:15:53.40\00:15:55.36 of people have heard and accepted 00:15:55.36\00:15:57.10 Jesus Christ. But in that moment in time, 00:15:57.10\00:16:00.40 when they hear for the first time 00:16:00.40\00:16:02.23 that Jesus loves them they make a 00:16:02.23\00:16:05.03 personal connection and the angels 00:16:05.03\00:16:07.00 rejoice for that one individual. 00:16:07.00\00:16:09.00 But it doesn't stop there. 00:16:09.00\00:16:10.63 They immediately share with friends 00:16:10.63\00:16:12.63 and families and soon their whole 00:16:12.63\00:16:14.90 village is listening to the word of God. 00:16:14.90\00:16:16.93 Entire church is spring up often before 00:16:16.93\00:16:19.86 they even make contact with a Pastor. 00:16:19.86\00:16:21.90 This is the real story of AWR. 00:16:21.90\00:16:24.40 Many such stories may 00:16:25.23\00:16:26.26 never be known in this world. 00:16:26.26\00:16:28.03 Immanuel, how many years have 00:16:35.73\00:16:36.70 you been a safari guide? 00:16:36.70\00:16:37.70 Now, 8 years. What is some 00:16:37.70\00:16:43.10 of the most memorable things that 00:16:43.10\00:16:44.20 you know of in this guide community 00:16:44.20\00:16:46.86 that's happened in that time. 00:16:46.86\00:16:48.50 Last year I was in Serengeti. 00:16:51.96\00:16:55.43 I saw four lions, four female lions 00:16:55.43\00:17:00.96 fighting a leopard. Really? Yes, 00:17:00.96\00:17:04.63 and the leopard was killed. 00:17:04.63\00:17:07.20 So four females killed it. Yeah, 00:17:07.20\00:17:10.06 it was like this, the lions were hunting 00:17:10.06\00:17:13.70 a baby zebra. So the leopard was 00:17:13.70\00:17:17.30 between the lion and the zebras. 00:17:17.30\00:17:20.53 And then the lion was crawling, 00:17:21.56\00:17:24.53 a little bit crawling and then laid down 00:17:24.53\00:17:26.90 and the leopard began to step, 00:17:26.90\00:17:30.83 so the leopard gets up. 00:17:30.83\00:17:32.30 That's when the lion find out at 00:17:32.30\00:17:35.13 the same place there is the leopard. 00:17:35.13\00:17:37.30 Instead of going towards the zebra. 00:17:37.30\00:17:40.56 The loins run to the leopard. 00:17:40.56\00:17:43.73 And when the leopard looks back like this. 00:17:43.73\00:17:47.66 So they are facing, leopard and lion. 00:17:47.66\00:17:50.30 And leopard begin to roaring like that. 00:17:50.30\00:17:53.56 But the loin jumped right on the face 00:17:53.56\00:17:56.43 of the leopard. The leopard was 00:17:56.43\00:17:58.33 severely injured, just one lion paw, 00:17:58.33\00:18:01.26 just one shot, one shot in the face, 00:18:02.70\00:18:05.56 leopard was really, really injured. 00:18:05.56\00:18:08.96 And the leopard was bleeding in the face. 00:18:08.96\00:18:11.03 So the ranger came and tried to 00:18:11.03\00:18:13.13 scare the loins away. 00:18:13.13\00:18:14.46 The leopard is most easily recognized 00:18:18.40\00:18:20.33 by its rosette pattern coat and 00:18:20.33\00:18:22.70 extremely long, darker tail. Once, 00:18:22.70\00:18:25.53 the leopard's habitat including China, 00:18:25.53\00:18:27.86 Korea, India, Pakistan and all the way 00:18:27.86\00:18:31.33 to South Africa. Now they are almost 00:18:31.33\00:18:34.06 exclusively found in Sub-Saharan Africa. 00:18:34.06\00:18:36.80 The leopard has relatively short legs 00:18:38.00\00:18:40.16 and a long body, with a large skull. 00:18:40.16\00:18:42.43 It resembles the jaguar, although it is 00:18:43.16\00:18:45.53 smaller and of slighter built. 00:18:45.53\00:18:47.40 The leopard is a versatile hunter and 00:18:47.40\00:18:51.00 generally nocturnal in its pursuit of prey. 00:18:51.00\00:18:53.53 They can move at speeds of 36 miles 00:18:58.10\00:19:00.16 per hour and will consume almost any 00:19:00.16\00:19:02.53 animal it can hunt down and catch. 00:19:02.53\00:19:04.26 When hungry most carnivores 00:19:04.26\00:19:06.80 don't get picky about what they eat. 00:19:06.80\00:19:09.03 The key is survival. Over the years 00:19:09.03\00:19:15.10 it never ceases to amaze me. 00:19:15.10\00:19:16.70 No matter where we travel and 00:19:16.70\00:19:18.66 how difficult the terrain. We find that 00:19:18.66\00:19:21.13 our radio waves get to the hardest 00:19:21.13\00:19:22.86 to reach places on earth much easier 00:19:22.86\00:19:25.20 than we do. No matter how difficult 00:19:25.20\00:19:27.13 the journey. When we arrive we find 00:19:27.13\00:19:29.66 listeners whose lives have dramatically 00:19:29.66\00:19:32.10 changed for eternity. What we've 00:19:32.10\00:19:34.50 been discovering is that we are not going 00:19:34.50\00:19:36.40 to know the full impact of AWR until 00:19:36.40\00:19:39.30 we get to heaven. Entire groups of 00:19:39.30\00:19:41.63 listeners are just popping up, 00:19:41.63\00:19:43.30 just like wheat, every where. 00:19:43.30\00:19:44.93 They have no pastor and no support 00:19:44.93\00:19:47.36 except for the daily radio message 00:19:47.36\00:19:49.66 and when we find these listeners groups. 00:19:49.66\00:19:52.03 They usually have 30-100 hundreds 00:19:52.03\00:19:54.46 of people in there. Oh yes, 00:19:54.46\00:19:56.43 we will need to wait till heaven 00:19:56.43\00:19:58.03 to see all of the fruit. I understand 00:19:58.03\00:20:04.73 you've been listening to AWR for sometime. 00:20:04.73\00:20:07.30 How long have you been listening? 00:20:07.30\00:20:08.53 We have been listening to Adventist 00:20:10.30\00:20:11.86 World Radio for about eight months. 00:20:11.86\00:20:14.43 Both of you've been listening for eight 00:20:14.43\00:20:16.43 months? Yes, I've also been listening 00:20:16.43\00:20:19.20 to AWR for eight months. 00:20:19.20\00:20:21.66 And may I ask you, why do you listen 00:20:21.66\00:20:24.23 to the program? Adventist World Radio shares 00:21:56.53\00:22:00.80 the hope of Christ with millions of 00:22:00.80\00:22:03.40 people everyday. Finding his work 00:22:16.76\00:22:19.30 tedious. Kalu purchased a small radio 00:22:19.30\00:22:21.80 to relieve the boredom. One day he came 00:22:21.80\00:22:24.33 across a program talking about Jesus. 00:22:24.33\00:22:26.43 It was from Adventist World Radio. 00:22:26.43\00:22:28.53 After listening for a few days Kalu looked 00:22:28.53\00:22:31.60 for a pastor, who could tell him more 00:22:31.60\00:22:33.20 about Christ, soon convinced of the 00:22:33.20\00:22:35.76 Christian truth proof. Kalu was baptized 00:22:35.76\00:22:37.90 and became an outreach leader in his 00:22:37.90\00:22:40.33 hometown and the surrounding area. 00:22:40.33\00:22:42.30 Witnessing in predominately Hindu 00:22:42.30\00:22:44.76 towns is not always safe and Kalu 00:22:44.76\00:22:47.10 was once attacked when approaching 00:22:47.10\00:22:49.16 a town to preach. However through 00:22:49.16\00:22:51.50 efforts of Kalu and the volunteers 00:22:51.50\00:22:53.50 he has trained, nearly one thousand 00:22:53.50\00:22:55.90 people have accepted Christ. 00:22:55.90\00:22:57.80 Adventist World Radio shares the hope 00:22:59.10\00:23:01.60 of Christ with millions of people everyday. 00:23:01.60\00:23:04.86 For more information visit awr.org. 00:23:04.86\00:23:09.20 May I ask you what your lives were 00:23:12.10\00:23:13.76 like before you heard AWR? 00:23:13.76\00:23:16.50 Formerly we were in the dark. 00:23:18.90\00:23:20.40 So we're grateful to AWR, because it 00:23:20.40\00:23:24.00 has brought us the light that comes 00:23:24.00\00:23:25.80 from the gospel of Jesus Christ. 00:23:25.80\00:23:27.70 And it's okay if you don't want to 00:23:28.66\00:23:29.90 tell me, but may I ask you when you 00:23:29.90\00:23:31.70 say you were in the dark, can you tell me 00:23:31.70\00:23:34.06 a little more about that 00:23:34.06\00:23:35.06 what that really means? 00:23:35.06\00:23:36.56 Before hearing AWR we were Christians. 00:23:41.46\00:23:44.00 But our faith was not very strong. 00:23:44.00\00:23:46.70 After hearing the program we have 00:23:46.70\00:23:50.00 come closer to God. Now we can't 00:23:50.00\00:23:52.43 eat or sleep without praying. 00:23:52.43\00:23:54.40 Now our faith has become very strong 00:23:54.40\00:23:57.43 because of the programs. 00:23:57.43\00:24:00.06 Are you sharing your faith with others now? 00:24:00.73\00:24:03.26 We share our faith with others by inviting 00:24:03.26\00:24:06.60 them to listen to the radio programs. 00:24:06.60\00:24:09.03 Some of these people have joined 00:24:09.03\00:24:11.06 our church choir. So your group is 00:24:11.06\00:24:14.06 growing and getting larger all the time. 00:24:14.06\00:24:15.80 Yes, we are increasing as we testify 00:24:19.23\00:24:21.90 about our faith to others. 00:24:21.90\00:24:23.66 What do you tell people when you 00:24:24.50\00:24:25.70 say come, come listen, how do you 00:24:25.70\00:24:28.50 tell them or what do you tell them? 00:24:28.50\00:24:29.70 We tell them to come and please come 00:24:31.86\00:24:33.96 and listen to the word of God through 00:24:33.96\00:24:36.13 the programs, so that you become 00:24:36.13\00:24:38.33 more enlightened and intellectual and that 00:24:38.33\00:24:41.46 you may receive more peace of mind. 00:24:41.46\00:24:43.80 Ladies again, thank you so very much 00:24:44.90\00:24:46.53 for meeting with us and sharing with us. 00:24:46.53\00:24:49.23 And when we go home, we're going to 00:24:49.23\00:24:51.66 share with everyone about your village 00:24:51.66\00:24:54.03 and your worship services and how 00:24:54.03\00:24:56.53 all of you are coming together, 00:24:56.53\00:24:57.90 and we certainly will remember you in prayer. 00:24:57.90\00:24:59.90 We are also very grateful to meet 00:24:59.90\00:25:04.50 with people like you. We are so excited 00:25:04.50\00:25:07.36 and we think this is such a great 00:25:07.36\00:25:09.90 privilege to meet and interact with 00:25:09.90\00:25:12.16 you today. So again, thank you so much. 00:25:12.16\00:25:15.60 In Maasai we say, Ashe, that 00:25:22.80\00:25:24.30 means very, we are very 00:25:24.30\00:25:26.20 grateful. Ashe, Ashe, Ashe. 00:25:26.20\00:25:30.13 The Maasai are such a proud people. 00:25:31.20\00:25:32.46 Now they are both a proud people 00:25:32.46\00:25:35.00 and happy in Christ. One lady told me 00:25:35.00\00:25:38.16 that within eight months after hearing 00:25:38.16\00:25:40.00 the gospel message, they wanted 00:25:40.00\00:25:41.90 to learn how to read and write. 00:25:41.90\00:25:43.23 So they could study the Bible 00:25:43.23\00:25:45.20 on their own. Just imagine, 00:25:45.20\00:25:47.33 that's the power of the gospel. 00:25:47.33\00:25:49.40 This is why we continue to supply 00:25:49.40\00:25:51.86 solar powered crank generated radios 00:25:51.86\00:25:54.43 to villages like this one in many parts 00:25:54.43\00:25:57.03 of the world. They become 00:25:57.03\00:25:58.93 the conduit to eternal life. 00:25:58.93\00:26:00.70 Here is another example or village out 00:26:03.73\00:26:06.80 in the country. You should have 00:26:06.80\00:26:08.53 seen the roads we had to drive 00:26:08.53\00:26:10.00 on to get here, very narrow, 00:26:10.00\00:26:12.23 very muddy. We needed the 00:26:12.23\00:26:13.56 four-wheel driver and yet one 00:26:13.56\00:26:15.93 person from a church in town 00:26:15.93\00:26:18.00 came out to these people, brought a 00:26:18.00\00:26:20.23 radio and through that radio these people 00:26:20.23\00:26:23.06 developed an enthusiasm for God's word. 00:26:23.06\00:26:25.90 They told me they love to listen to the Bible 00:26:25.90\00:26:29.26 and learn about the word of God. 00:26:29.26\00:26:31.66 From that development, they were 00:26:32.50\00:26:34.23 able to form a study group in this area. 00:26:34.23\00:26:37.00 Their lives began to be changed and 00:26:37.00\00:26:39.90 they're in the process of growing more and more. 00:26:39.90\00:26:42.46 Did you see that megaphone that was 00:26:42.46\00:26:44.40 used here, so that the whole village 00:26:44.40\00:26:47.06 area could hear the program. 00:26:47.06\00:26:49.06 Just one radio and yet the whole wide 00:26:49.06\00:26:51.63 spread village is able to hear the program. 00:26:51.63\00:26:53.66 Well, all of this reminds me of another 00:26:54.73\00:26:56.93 text in the book of Isaiah that tells 00:26:56.93\00:26:58.83 about people coming to the Lord. 00:26:58.83\00:27:00.53 It says many people will come and say, 00:27:01.60\00:27:03.50 "let us go up to the mountain of the Lord, 00:27:04.80\00:27:06.70 To the house of the God of Jacob; 00:27:06.70\00:27:08.96 He will teach us His ways, so that we may 00:27:08.96\00:27:12.03 walk in His paths." That's the kind of 00:27:12.03\00:27:14.93 thing we want to see happening all over 00:27:14.93\00:27:17.40 this country and all over the world. 00:27:17.40\00:27:19.33 Please join us at Adventist World Radio 00:27:19.33\00:27:22.76 and pray for these people and support 00:27:22.76\00:27:25.76 the work we're doing, so that many 00:27:25.76\00:27:27.53 other villages can also hear the gospel 00:27:27.53\00:27:31.06 of Jesus Christ through radio. 00:27:31.06\00:27:33.23 If you want to reach more villages 00:27:33.23\00:27:35.16 like this, join us, give us a call 00:27:35.16\00:27:37.20 1-866-503-3531, or write us at 12501 Old, 00:27:37.20\00:27:43.40 Columbia Pike, Silver Spring, Maryland 00:27:43.40\00:27:45.40 20904 or log on to our web site: 00:27:45.40\00:27:48.70 www.awr.org.
