00:11 Here in the Jordan River, this is the traditional site
00:13 where people from all over the world come to be baptized. 00:17 They say the place where John was baptizing, 00:19 calling people to repentance. 00:22 Remission of their sins will be baptized 00:24 in the watery grave and come up 00:26 as a new believer in Jesus Christ. 01:04 One day, John looked and said, "Behold the Lamb of God, 01:07 which taketh away the sins of the world. 01:10 There is one among you," he said, 01:12 "Whose shoes I am not worthy to untie." 01:14 And people looked and said, "Where, where?" 01:18 Please don't miss this point 01:19 because Jesus was standing among the church, 01:22 the leadership, the people of the church of that day 01:25 and they didn't recognize the Savior, their Creator. 01:30 My friends, we need to be careful ourselves, 01:32 we must know Him, not just about Him. 01:36 We must know Him and Jesus went down 01:39 into the water as an example for you and for me. 02:03 This mosque is an extreme source 02:05 of irritation to the Jewish population 02:07 and especially as it causes additional damage 02:10 to the ancient walls. 02:13 Here and there, we've found that, 02:15 there were not many relics from Eon's past, 02:17 but we did discover a pillar from the time of Jesus. 02:22 In the early morning, 02:23 Jesus gathered with His disciples 02:25 along the seashore here, 02:27 but soon the crowds grew too large, 02:30 He wanted to specifically speak to them 02:32 but people wanted to hear the words of eternal life. 02:35 So soon they walked up the hill side here 02:37 to The Mount of Beatitudes, at least, 02:39 that's what we call it now. 02:41 He began sharing with them the words of eternal life. 02:44 You can read the writings of the Hindus, 02:46 the Quran, the PolyText, but you'll never read 02:48 anything or hear anything quite like 02:51 the Sermon on the Mount. 02:52 Changes men and women lives around the world, 02:54 my life, your life. It all happened right here, 02:59 right here overlooking The Sea of Galilee. 03:38 Jesus and the disciples had a long hard day of labor, 03:42 helping the people, instructing them, 03:44 caring for them, healing the sick. 03:47 They finally cast out on their boat here on 03:49 The Sea Of Galilee and Jesus fell fast asleep. 03:53 During the night, as the disciples are rowing, 03:55 all of a sudden a storm comes up. 03:58 The winds are blowing over the hills 03:59 and the Sea of Galilee 04:01 becomes a raging torrid of water, 04:03 it's filling the boat and the disciples 04:05 began to bail and bail and bail, 04:07 but these seasoned fishermen seem like at any moment, 04:10 they're going to die and they look around 04:13 and they say, "Where is Jesus?" 04:14 And all of a sudden as the lightening goes 04:15 across the bow they see Him 04:17 sound asleep in the back of the boat peaceful, calm. 04:22 And they say and yell, 04:23 perhaps some of the craziest words 04:24 that a Christian has ever spoken. 04:26 "Lord, don't you care that we're dying." 04:29 And of course, He did. He raised up, He stood up, 04:33 raised His hands and said, "Peace be still." 04:36 And billions and billions of gallons of water raging 04:39 and revolutionary storm on the Sea of Galilee 04:41 just smooth out like a mirror. 04:44 Other boats that had been in proximity 04:46 to the boat of Jesus, they all look and say, 04:48 "Well, what manner of man is this, 04:50 even the winds and the waves obey Him." 04:54 He was God incarnate. 04:55 He was the Creator of God of the universe 04:58 and everything obeyed the command of the Lord, 05:01 His voice brought peace and calm to everything. 05:12 Welcome. foreign language 05:17 Ludmila, I really appreciate the invitation 05:20 to come into your home today. 05:21 We are very thankful that you traveled to see us 05:25 and that you answered to our invitation. 05:29 Now if it's okay to ask, 05:31 I understand that you had some tragedy 05:33 in your life with a daughter, 05:35 I believe, would you mind sharing that? 05:37 I will briefly explain this happened far up north. 05:41 Me and my daughter lived there. 05:43 She got severe gangrene. 05:48 foreign language 05:53 But the time we managed to do anything, 05:56 we had no choice, 05:57 but to amputate her legs higher than her knees. 06:05 So, what happened to your life at that time? 06:09 I took my daughter and moved to Tula. 06:13 foreign language 06:16 What did you feel like mentally 06:19 and psychologically to have this happen to your daughter? 06:24 I was in a great sorrow and was left with no hope. 06:30 I did not know what to do. 06:33 So you had, you were not a Christian 06:36 or a member of a church or any belief at all? 06:41 I was an atheist, but something inside 06:44 had me believing that He was there. 06:47 foreign language 06:56 My mother was a believer. 06:58 I just had a job that require for me to be an atheist. 07:04 What did you do before retirement, 07:06 if you wouldn't mind sharing with me? 07:08 I worked my whole life 07:09 as a director for a Daycare Center. 07:13 So your profession, 07:15 your job called for you to be an atheist? 07:19 I have to say that, yes, we had to be atheist, 07:23 but deep inside we all believe in God. 07:28 So you reached this point in your life 07:30 where atheism offers you nothing, 07:33 now what, what happens? 07:36 When this sorrow happened in my life with my daughter, 07:39 I understood that the only place 07:42 I can find happiness is in Christ. 07:46 My first encounter with the Christ and the Bible was 07:50 when my daughter had her legs amputated. 07:55 So you started thinking about God 07:57 and the Bible before something happened 07:59 to your daughter. 08:00 After the amputation of my daughter's legs, 08:04 but deep inside I was always with Christ. 08:07 So please share what, what happened now in your life? 08:13 foreign language 08:14 When all this happen with my daughter, 08:17 I thought that there was no way out 08:20 not for Natasha and not for me. 08:23 foreign language 08:42 And when they took her in for surgery, 08:45 the locals' handout me a Bible 08:48 and that was the first time I ever held a Bible. 08:55 As you can see AWR is frontline mission radio. 08:59 Our first priority is to travel where missionaries cannot go. 09:03 We broadcast thousands of hours 09:05 each day in 70 major languages of the world. 09:09 AWR has the capability and capacity of blanketing 09:12 almost 80% of the world's population. 09:15 Not only do we broadcast via shortwave radio, 09:18 but our signal is on over 1000 FM and AM stations 09:22 around the world as well. 09:24 Our podcast subscribers, Internet users, 09:27 satellite downlinks are growing rapidly. 09:30 Evidenced by the 100,000 plus emails and letters 09:33 and phone calls we receive each and every year. 09:36 Yes, AWR is your mission radio. 09:40 No walls and no borders for AWR 09:42 that means changed lives and changed hearts 09:45 around the world because God is using the airways of AWR 09:49 to reach people everywhere. 09:59 Right behind me is the beautiful Sea of Galilee, 10:02 standing here in Capernaum. 10:04 These are some of the old houses that were here, 10:06 I'm told at the time of Jesus. 10:09 I just think about it, imagine Jesus walking 10:11 through these streets. 10:12 We're told that He spent a lot of time here, 10:14 they even called it the home of Jesus. 10:18 Think about it. 10:19 The Creator God of the Universe 10:21 walking these streets and healing 10:23 everyone He came in contact with. 10:26 I've been in India many times 10:27 and throngs tend to come around you from every side 10:30 because they want some kind of help. 10:33 The very little help we have is not much, 10:34 but Jesus, what Jesus broke up 10:37 every funeral he ever attended. 10:39 Imagine Jesus going into hospital in your town 10:43 and as he walked out, every single person 10:45 would come out rejoicing with Him. 10:47 Not a sick person left. 10:49 That's what happened 10:50 as Jesus went from town to town, 10:51 area to area and here in Capernaum also. 11:10 This synagogue is built over the site 11:12 of the original one that the Roman Centurion 11:14 had given funds for here in Capernaum. 11:17 This is why the Jewish elders 11:19 had recommended his needs to Jesus. 11:22 You see he had a servant who needed healing. 11:24 So he's asking Jesus to please help my servant. 11:27 Jesus immediately started to go with him. 11:29 Centurion said, 11:30 "No, you don't even need to go." 11:32 He says, "I'm a man in authority. 11:34 I say to one man to go and he goes, 11:35 I say to another to come and he comes. 11:38 All you need to do is speak the word." 11:41 Well, Jesus said, "I have not seen 11:42 so great faith in all of Israel. 11:45 Be it done" and at that moment 11:47 his servant was healed. 11:58 When I first opened the Bible, 12:01 I didn't know where to open it up to, 12:04 but I did feel calm, peaceful, and loving. 12:08 This feeling I have never felt before. 12:12 Where did you get a hold of a Bible? Where? 12:14 They just weren't everywhere around at the time, 12:16 were they or weren't they? 12:18 I wished my whole life that I can't have 12:20 a Bible in my hand, there were people 12:24 who believed and provided me with a Bible. 12:30 I have, I can't hardly imagine, 12:32 I've got dozens of Bibles at home, 12:36 I can't hardly imagine someone dreaming 12:39 their whole life to have a Bible and can't get one. 12:42 It was an amazing experience. 12:44 The first time I opened the Bible, 12:46 I felt so peaceful. Even though during the time, 12:52 my daughter was going through surgery, 12:55 I didn't know how to read the Bible, 12:58 I didn't know how to understand it, 13:00 but they explained it to me. 13:03 They told me to start reading Psalms. 13:07 I had a shocking situation 13:08 I realize that I can only have hope in God 13:12 and not anyone or anything else. 13:15 When Natasha was sleeping right before the check out, 13:19 I got down on my knees early, 13:21 early in the morning next to the window 13:24 and start praying. 13:26 I've prayed so deep that God heard me 13:29 when I was down praying I feels, 13:31 I felt a warming feeling surround my body. 13:35 I will never forget that feeling. 13:38 This was right after my prayer. 13:40 foreign language 13:56 Here in Jerusalem, perhaps it was a street 13:58 something like this that, 13:59 Jesus walked down with his disciples, 14:02 but at that time the throngs were pressing 14:03 in everywhere around Him. 14:05 People wanted to get close to Him. 14:08 But all of a sudden in the middle of all these 14:10 pushing and shoving, Jesus stopped, 14:12 He turns and said, "Who touched me?" 14:14 And for a moment everybody was looking at Him. 14:16 "What are you saying?" Everybody is touching you. 14:18 The disciple said, "Master, look at the throngs." 14:22 And then one dear little lady came up and said, 14:25 "I was the one who touched you." 14:27 And Jesus said, "You know, you are healed, 14:30 dear lady, because you touched me with faith, 14:33 you reached out and grabbed a hold me 14:35 with all that you had and desired to be healed." 14:39 Tremendous story, a casual touch does 14:41 nothing in our life, but the touch of faith, 14:44 grabbing a hold of Jesus, that's what changes. 14:51 On Jesus' final day, 14:53 He walked over the Mount of Olives, 14:55 Luke says, Chapter 24, "As far as to Bethany." 14:59 Why did he go there? 15:01 The Bible doesn't really tell us, 15:02 but I've got a good idea, 15:04 you see his best friends, Martha, 15:06 Mary, and Lazarus were all there. 15:08 And I think he simply wanted to tell them goodbye, 15:11 because out of all the people, 15:13 all the throngs that had pressured Him, 15:15 everyone that had pushed against Him 15:16 to get something from Him, 15:20 Martha, Mary, and Lazarus stayed very special 15:23 because they wanted a friendship with Him. 15:25 They wanted a real love relationship with Him. 15:29 The Bible says, "This is life eternal, 15:32 that they might know thee the only true God, 15:34 and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent." 15:37 I think of Ludmilla, 15:39 our dear lady that saw a cloud and a bright light 15:46 and that brought her all of a sudden 15:48 to her relationship with Jesus Christ 15:50 and she never wanted to let go. 15:53 I kind of look at her like Martha, 15:54 Mary, and Lazarus, those that wanted 15:57 that special time with Jesus. 15:58 Those that are looking forward to His soon return. 16:02 His shortly after Jesus visit with him, 16:05 He ascended to heaven and he said, 16:07 "This same Jesus shall so come in like manner." 16:10 Ludmilla is looking forward to that day, 16:13 as I hope all of us are too. 16:17 Through the radio wave of AWR 16:19 God is reaching people around the world. 16:22 We'd like to offer you an edition of Making Wave. 16:25 It's four of our episodes 16:26 brought to you from around the world. 16:29 God speaking to hearts, 16:30 the hearts of the listeners of AWR, exciting stories. 16:33 We hope that, you'll share those 16:35 with friends and neighbors, acquaintances, 16:37 any one you come in contact with. 16:38 Join us to make waves, it's completely free. 16:42 Right now the information is on your screen. 16:45 For your free no obligation DVD, 16:47 write to Adventist World Radio, 16:50 12501, Old Columbia Pike Silver Spring, 16:54 Maryland 20904 or call 1-866-503-3531 17:01 or log on to www.AWR.org/MWDVD 17:09 Be sure to request offer number 10, 17:11 that number again is 1-866-503-3531. 17:19 So you felt, as you were studying the Bible, 17:21 you knew you needed to find a group of people 17:25 that worship the way you felt, 17:27 the Bible was saying to. 17:29 Probably not necessary to connect, 17:33 I needed happiness, and I knew that beside God, 17:37 no one can help. 17:40 foreign language 17:44 Now you shared with me 17:45 before we sat down today 17:46 that you've turned on the radio 17:48 one day and what happened? 17:51 I turned on the radio and I heard about God 17:55 and started paying attention 17:57 and what I realized that the words 17:59 they were said were very close to me, 18:02 I like them and they make me happy. 18:05 foreign language 18:12 So all of a sudden, you've been studying, 18:14 you've been praying, and you're searching 18:16 and turned on the radio and you find the Voice of Hope 18:20 which is the AWR program and all of a sudden it clicks, 18:25 what happened next? 18:26 Well, the radio said that, this was the Voice of Hope, 18:31 they gave me a phone number, they gave me an address, 18:34 and this was enough to show up. 18:37 foreign language 18:43 I immediately went by the address 18:46 and found the Voice of Hope and met Galena Labute. 18:51 And I requested that she would help me 18:54 find a church where I would be comfortable 18:57 and where I can find peace. And what happened next? 19:01 She said, "I'm going to introduce you to this person 19:05 who is going to bring you to a church, 19:08 the one that you are in need of." 19:10 foreign language 19:13 She gave me the pastor's number 19:15 to the first church ever built in Tula, Fetkovich Vladimir. 19:22 She told the pastor that a young lady will call you. 19:26 She is looking for happiness. 19:31 This was amazing, Vladimir got on his knees 19:34 and started praying and says, "If this lady is going to call, 19:39 that means that this is from God." 19:44 He later told me that right 19:46 when I stopped praying the phone rang. 19:51 So a miracle at the bed side of your daughter. 19:55 And now a miracle to show this pastor 19:57 that God's hand was upon you. What next? 20:01 And later nothing but miracles, 20:04 he later met me at the bus stop took my hand 20:08 and took me to the number one church. 20:10 foreign language 20:20 Upon the hill where the large church is, 20:22 I'm told there is where the Jesus 20:23 had the last supper. 20:25 And from that area, they came on down the hill, 20:27 crossed over the Kidron, up into 20:29 the Garden of Gethsemane here in this area, 20:33 the area of the final conflict. 20:54 In the garden Jesus was captured, 20:57 all the disciples fled. 20:58 They took the Jesus back up the hill again to the area 21:01 where he originally was with the last supper, 21:03 in that area they held the first part of the trial. 21:07 Peter denied his Lord there, 21:09 then they led Him on into the city 21:11 for further trial with Pilate. 21:15 It was in a courtyard perhaps something like this, 21:17 where they brought Jesus in the middle of the night 21:20 to arraign Him before the high priest. 21:22 Peter snuck in, people are meddling around everywhere, 21:26 but Peter didn't want to be noticed. 21:28 He came up, he saw a little fire 21:31 and he came up close to the fire, 21:32 pulled his collar up 21:33 and there he sat trying to warm his hands 21:35 and every once in a while, he would take a glance 21:37 and look and see what was happening to Jesus. 21:41 Someone noticed him, 21:43 they asked him, "Who are you? 21:44 You are the one that was with Jesus." 21:45 He says, "No, I am not, no I am not." 21:47 And he hurdles a little lower, 21:49 but soon they recognize him again at this time. 21:52 He said, "No, I'm not the one." 21:55 But he hurdles a little more 21:56 and he takes another look still Jesus is being tried, 21:59 but soon someone says, 22:01 "you are the one, you are the very one." 22:03 And now he cusses and he swears 22:06 as an old fisherman that he used to be and as, 22:08 with the words dripping from his lips, 22:11 he looks and Jesus turns and looks at him 22:15 and his heart is broken and Peter runs away. 22:27 Most of the streets are new stones, 22:29 but this area they found three meters down, 22:31 these are the original pavements 22:32 where Jesus walked on the Via Dolorosa, 22:36 carried His cross here for you and for me. 22:39 It's interesting that just right over here 22:41 the men carrying machine guns. 22:43 I'm sure Jesus look forward to this time, 22:46 that's probably why He wept up there 22:48 on the hill overlooking Jerusalem. 22:54 I had realized how long and arduous 22:57 the track for Jesus was carrying 22:59 the cross of Calvary, because it's all up hill, 23:02 at this point on the Via Dolorosa, He collapsed, 23:06 He could no longer carry the cross and here we're told, 23:11 Simon picked it up and carried it for Him. 23:13 They've actually built a little chapel in this area 23:15 commemorating that moment. 23:23 We're in a location called the Garden Tomb. 23:25 Now this may not be the actual location 23:28 where Jesus was laid, but it's a tomb of someone 23:31 rich like Joseph of Arimathea. 23:34 They took Jesus off the cross. 23:36 They laid him in the tomb. 23:38 They sealed Him with a large stone. 23:41 One Sunday, the angel from heaven 23:43 came down as a lightening flash. 23:46 The Roman guard who was here to guard 23:49 the tomb and not allow entrance to anyone 23:51 lay as dead men, the angel called Jesus forth, 23:54 Jesus who had laid there dead was now resurrected. 23:58 Interesting point is, 24:00 the soldiers were from every country or many countries. 24:03 Imagine after their tour of duty had ended, 24:06 they went and told their countrymen everywhere, 24:09 thus the gospel was spread to many lands. 24:13 The angel stayed and waited and the women 24:16 showed up later that day to embalm the body of Jesus, 24:19 but the angel said, He's risen, He's not here. 24:22 He's going to meet all of you, 24:24 go tell His disciples and Peter, the Lord is risen. 24:28 Whatever you do, don't forget Peter 24:30 who denied Me, don't forget Peter 24:32 who has forsaken me, 24:33 don't forget Peter who is broken heart. 24:35 Remember Peter. 24:37 Oh, how much our Lord loves and calls and yearns 24:40 after every one of us. 24:47 It was during the 40 day period 24:49 after the resurrection of Jesus, 24:51 the disciples castoff one evening to go fishing. 24:54 That was the perfect time to catch fish. 24:56 As the sun began to rise, 24:58 they saw a stranger sitting here on the bank 25:02 and the stranger yelled out, have you caught anything? 25:04 They respond no, not a thing. 25:07 Then Jesus says, "Cast your net on the right 25:10 side of the ship." 25:11 They decide to listen, they cast the net in, 25:13 as they pull it up, it is so full of fish 25:16 they can't hardly bring it in. 25:17 At that moment Peter recognizes it's His Lord. 25:20 He strips down, he jumps in, he swims here to the shore, 25:23 leaving everybody else with the catch 25:25 to deal with all the fish. 25:27 He gets ashore and finds that Jesus has a little fire build. 25:30 He already has fish on the fire. 25:33 They come in finally with the catch. 25:35 They began sharing, eating and talking 25:37 and then Jesus begins to talk with Peter. 25:40 You remember that Peter had denied his Lord 25:42 three times and Jesus pointedly asked three times, 25:46 Peter, do you love me? Do you love me? 25:50 This time there is no boastfulness out of Peter. 25:53 Peter simply responds, Lord, you know I love you. 25:56 Before he said, 25:57 oh, I love you above all these others 25:59 but not now, because Peter had been converted. 26:03 Peter had Jesus Christ live in his life 26:07 and the Lord said "Peter, go feed my sheep." 26:11 Jesus had compassion on Ludmilla. 26:14 He helped give her hope and strength 26:18 just as He does to you and me. 26:20 So many ways whether it be her need for healing 26:24 or encouragement or whatever. 26:26 And usually when Jesus acts on his compassion, 26:29 He does it hand in hand with human agencies. 26:33 Here in the city of Jerusalem behind me 26:35 is one place where people many times 26:38 felt the compassion of Jesus 26:41 and His actions to meet their needs. 26:45 You also can work hand in hand 26:47 with Jesus to help people around you. 26:51 You can do that by partnering with AWR. 26:55 The waves of AWR are reaching around the world. 26:58 If you'd like to partner with us, give us a call, 27:00 1-866-503-3531 or you can write us at 12501, 27:07 Old Columbia Pike, Silver Spring, Maryland, 27:10 20904 or log on to our website www.awr.org 27:18 Thank you for watching and please, 27:19 join us again for another exciting gospel adventure, 27:22 because around the world AWR is making waves. |
