During the end of His ministry, 00:00:01.40\00:00:02.80 Jesus arrived here on the Mount of Olives. 00:00:02.80\00:00:05.33 Looked out over Jerusalem and He began weeping, 00:00:05.33\00:00:09.23 "Oh, Jerusalem, Jerusalem, 00:00:09.23\00:00:10.86 how often would I have gathered you, 00:00:10.86\00:00:12.40 as a mother hen gathers her chicks 00:00:12.40\00:00:14.33 under her breast, and you would not." 00:00:14.33\00:00:18.00 Jesus desired nothing less than 00:00:18.00\00:00:20.90 a wonderful relationship with His children, with His people. 00:00:20.90\00:00:24.43 He called. He beckoned. 00:00:24.43\00:00:26.80 He yearned to have a fellowship and friendship with them, 00:00:26.80\00:00:30.73 but they seemed like they would not. 00:00:30.73\00:00:32.46 Right behind me is the Russian Orthodox Church 00:01:07.13\00:01:09.36 there on the Mount of Olives. 00:01:09.36\00:01:11.00 You'll notice the four smaller pinnacles. 00:01:11.00\00:01:13.20 Those represent the gospel messages, 00:01:13.20\00:01:15.23 the four men of the gospel, the taller one, Jesus Christ. 00:01:15.23\00:01:20.03 Jerusalem is a very sacred and holy place to many faiths. 00:01:20.03\00:01:23.30 The Christians, the Muslims, 00:01:23.30\00:01:25.10 the Jewish people even the Bahá'i faith. 00:01:25.10\00:01:28.50 Jerusalem the capital city of Israel 00:01:28.50\00:01:30.63 has been the capital of the Jewish Kingdom, 00:01:30.63\00:01:32.56 since about 1000 B.C., when King David captured it. 00:01:32.56\00:01:36.76 Since then, the city has been captured 00:01:36.76\00:01:38.43 and recaptured many times. 00:01:38.43\00:01:41.50 Jerusalem is one of the oldest inhabited cities in the world 00:01:41.50\00:01:44.90 and dates back to the fourth millennium B.C. 00:01:44.90\00:01:48.00 Excavations have revealed early Canaanite 00:01:48.00\00:01:50.70 and Hebrew settlements. 00:01:50.70\00:01:52.10 A wealth of Hebrew seals 00:01:52.10\00:01:53.66 and everyday utensils have been found 00:01:53.66\00:01:56.30 as well as early streets running from the Zion Gate 00:01:56.30\00:01:59.16 through the restored Jewish border. 00:01:59.16\00:02:03.53 Jerusalem is a city of contrast between the old and the new, 00:02:03.53\00:02:06.96 the sacred, the secular. 00:02:06.96\00:02:09.10 It is still a city of people 00:02:09.10\00:02:10.60 in need of renewed touch of the master's hand. 00:02:10.60\00:02:15.46 This is the most recent wall that surrounds Old Jerusalem. 00:02:15.46\00:02:18.66 I'm told that Suleiman, 00:02:18.66\00:02:20.06 the Turk actually built this one. 00:02:20.06\00:02:22.10 Jerusalem has had many walls built at many times. 00:02:22.10\00:02:24.80 I asked one local resident what, 00:02:24.80\00:02:26.96 how many times it had been rebuilt. 00:02:26.96\00:02:28.40 He said, "Oh may be even seven times. 00:02:28.40\00:02:30.80 But the most famous was in A.D. 70 when Titus, 00:02:30.80\00:02:33.30 the General destroyed everything." 00:02:33.30\00:02:37.26 It seems that the walls of Jerusalem 00:02:37.26\00:02:39.13 are still under siege. 00:02:39.13\00:02:40.53 In 2002, there was a bulge 00:02:40.53\00:02:42.33 in the walls near the Al-Aqsa mosque. 00:02:42.33\00:02:44.96 At the time it was expected 00:02:44.96\00:02:46.36 that more than 200,000 Muslim pilgrims 00:02:46.36\00:02:49.30 would visit the mosque during Ramadan. 00:02:49.30\00:02:51.53 Engineers feared that the walls would collapse 00:02:51.53\00:02:53.70 under the weight of so many people. 00:02:53.70\00:02:56.10 Finally, in 2003, after a lot of controversy, 00:02:56.10\00:02:59.60 the wall was repaired. 00:02:59.60\00:03:03.16 Immediately behind me is a wall that is supporting the mosque. 00:03:03.16\00:03:06.56 It wasn't there at the time of Jesus. 00:03:06.56\00:03:08.70 And during this recent archaeological dig, 00:03:08.70\00:03:10.73 they found that this was the main entrance to the temple. 00:03:10.73\00:03:13.60 But picture Jesus walking up and down 00:03:13.60\00:03:16.13 these stairs preaching, sharing the gospel message 00:03:16.13\00:03:18.90 with everyone around. 00:03:18.90\00:03:20.50 Tremendous time. 00:03:20.50\00:03:21.90 Imagine the Festival of Tabernacles, 00:03:21.90\00:03:25.06 during that time with everyone living 00:03:25.06\00:03:26.96 in their own little places with bowels over them covered, 00:03:26.96\00:03:30.50 coming to the temple ceremony, coming and hearing Jesus say, 00:03:30.50\00:03:34.06 "I am the water of life, partake of me freely." 00:03:34.06\00:03:38.43 It's hard to imagine but that's where it occurred is right here. 00:03:38.43\00:03:42.06 I understand--it's no longer called the Wailing Wall. 00:03:49.66\00:03:52.80 No, it was never called a Wailing Wall. 00:03:52.80\00:03:54.63 It was never called that. No, it was-- 00:03:54.63\00:03:57.56 it's the Western Wall of the temple compound. 00:03:57.56\00:04:00.86 And it's written in the-- 00:04:00.86\00:04:03.63 that the divine presence never leaves this, this place. 00:04:03.63\00:04:07.83 This wall is such an ancient piece of history. 00:04:07.83\00:04:11.80 That's why this section called the Western Wall 00:04:11.80\00:04:14.70 is so important to these people, 00:04:14.70\00:04:16.86 because it is part of the original wall of Jerusalem. 00:04:16.86\00:04:21.20 So they see this as a tie to the past and a tie 00:04:21.20\00:04:25.03 to God when He was blessing them so much. 00:04:25.03\00:04:28.30 And they don't believe that the presence of God 00:04:28.30\00:04:30.10 has ever left this location either. 00:04:30.10\00:04:31.86 No, no that's why there is such an attraction to come back 00:04:31.86\00:04:35.40 to Jerusalem and establish the temple again here. 00:04:35.40\00:04:39.93 That's why there is so much conflict 00:04:39.93\00:04:41.53 among nations politically as well. 00:04:41.53\00:04:45.73 Just on the other side of the wall 00:04:45.73\00:04:47.13 you have the Muslim mosque. 00:04:47.13\00:04:48.86 That's right. Mm-hmm. 00:04:48.86\00:04:50.53 The Muslims and the Jewish people are of course 00:04:50.53\00:04:53.50 the most in conflict but there is a Christian quarter 00:04:53.50\00:04:57.90 and an Armenian quarter here in Jerusalem as well. 00:04:57.90\00:05:00.80 And this one in 1948, the Jordanians came in 00:05:00.80\00:05:03.63 virtually massacred everybody. 00:05:03.63\00:05:05.83 So it wasn't until was in 1967 that actually the Jewish people 00:05:05.83\00:05:10.96 were able to come back here and again be at the wall. 00:05:10.96\00:05:14.46 And these little slips they pray, 00:05:14.46\00:05:16.60 first they come and they read their "The Bible" 00:05:16.60\00:05:19.46 and their prayer books 00:05:19.46\00:05:21.40 and because this is such a special place. 00:05:21.40\00:05:24.10 It's that longing to be in touch with the past 00:05:24.10\00:05:27.00 because they see God is blessing them in the past. 00:05:27.00\00:05:30.56 And they're longing to see that recovered. 00:05:30.56\00:05:33.70 They want to see the fulfillment 00:05:33.70\00:05:35.26 of all of those Old Testament prophecies literally. 00:05:35.26\00:05:38.50 You know the location of the temple is actually 00:05:38.50\00:05:40.36 about 20 feet down or at least the areas 00:05:40.36\00:05:43.00 where Jesus probably walked but, what an area of history. 00:05:43.00\00:05:46.56 That's right. 00:05:46.56\00:05:47.96 And then apparently this is so significant to God. 00:05:47.96\00:05:51.16 He is still coming back calls it the New Jerusalem. 00:05:51.16\00:05:53.60 That's true. Going to bring it down to this area. 00:05:53.60\00:05:55.56 And that will be great. We see stones here. 00:05:55.56\00:05:58.60 We'll see gold there. 00:05:58.60\00:06:00.46 Oh, I am looking forward to that time. 00:06:00.46\00:06:02.26 That's for sure. Yeah. 00:06:02.26\00:06:04.90 As with any site that's possibly sacred, 00:06:06.56\00:06:09.20 they built a church over it. 00:06:09.20\00:06:11.13 Matter of fact, there is a church 00:06:11.13\00:06:12.53 and a Muslim owns the key to the door, 00:06:12.53\00:06:14.80 but he lets the Christians come in. 00:06:14.80\00:06:16.96 What is the site? 00:06:16.96\00:06:18.90 The site of the crucifixion, 00:06:18.90\00:06:20.30 the site of the burial of Jesus Christ. 00:06:20.30\00:06:23.30 There is an area up in behind that has the tomb, 00:06:23.30\00:06:27.26 the garden tomb apparently. 00:06:27.26\00:06:28.90 There is also a slab where they laid Him. 00:06:28.90\00:06:31.20 But, you know, the most exciting thing, 00:06:31.20\00:06:32.60 the thing that really counts is He's not there. 00:06:32.60\00:06:35.30 The relics maybe there, 00:06:35.30\00:06:36.70 but Jesus Christ is not there because He's risen. 00:06:36.70\00:06:39.56 That's the hope, that's the desire and we look 00:06:39.56\00:06:41.76 forward to seeing Jesus Christ very soon. 00:06:41.76\00:06:44.23 He's coming for you. He's coming for me. 00:06:44.23\00:06:46.10 Tell me, where you always Christians? 00:06:48.66\00:06:51.03 You say you're a pastor, but where you always Christians? 00:06:51.03\00:06:53.93 No. No, we came to church at different times. 00:06:53.93\00:06:58.40 But God helped us find each other at the right time. 00:06:58.40\00:07:04.23 I came to Christ at 12 years old 00:07:04.23\00:07:06.46 I attended school and played soccer. 00:07:06.46\00:07:08.73 As soon as I started attending Church, 00:07:08.73\00:07:10.93 soccer became very distant. 00:07:10.93\00:07:13.86 We were watching on TV a cartoon called 00:07:13.86\00:07:16.76 Super Buck and Jesus became an interest. 00:07:16.76\00:07:20.26 In our mail box was an invitation to a church. 00:07:20.26\00:07:23.30 We went and this was the first time 00:07:23.30\00:07:26.03 we were introduced to a church and to the Bible. 00:07:26.03\00:07:29.46 Because of this book, the whole family started believing. 00:07:29.46\00:07:35.13 Mom, grandmother, his father, and his brother, 00:07:35.13\00:07:39.16 even he became a follower. 00:07:39.16\00:07:41.70 His brother actually became a pastor 00:07:41.70\00:07:44.60 at the same time as my husband. 00:07:44.60\00:07:47.93 And how about you? 00:07:47.93\00:07:49.33 Did you know Christ all your life or no? 00:07:49.33\00:07:50.90 You said, you didn't. 00:07:50.90\00:07:52.30 What's your story before you found Christ? 00:07:52.30\00:07:55.56 I came to God at 15 years old. 00:07:55.56\00:07:58.36 I was raised in non-Christian family. 00:07:58.36\00:08:01.73 My girlfriend invite me to come to church with her. 00:08:01.73\00:08:05.63 My third cousin introduced me with her friend. 00:08:05.63\00:08:09.23 And she is the one who invite me to her Church. 00:08:09.23\00:08:12.70 When I first went to Church, I couldn't find Him. 00:08:12.70\00:08:16.00 But later, God helped me. 00:08:16.00\00:08:18.23 June 30th was 7 seven years since I was baptized. 00:08:18.23\00:08:22.76 I love to serve God. 00:08:22.76\00:08:24.50 I just can't imagine my life without praising the Lord. 00:08:24.50\00:08:28.50 I feel like there is no point to live without God. 00:08:28.50\00:08:32.13 If you are not serving God, 00:08:32.13\00:08:34.10 why are you living on this planet? 00:08:34.10\00:08:36.60 This is just my personal opinion 00:08:36.60\00:08:38.93 Here is another story of hope from Adventist World Radio. 00:08:41.70\00:08:46.16 Duang lay wide awake in his dark jail cell. 00:08:46.16\00:08:50.33 A Chinese man imprisoned in Thailand. 00:08:50.33\00:08:52.83 He had no family or friends to visit him. 00:08:52.83\00:08:56.03 Recently, Duang had begun 00:08:56.03\00:08:57.66 listening to the programs of Adventist World Radio. 00:08:57.66\00:09:01.06 The message of God's love and forgiveness 00:09:01.06\00:09:03.06 had so much appeal to him, 00:09:03.06\00:09:05.23 because he had plenty to be forgiven off. 00:09:05.23\00:09:07.83 Forced to become a child soldier in Burma when just 13, 00:09:07.83\00:09:11.73 Duang had committed many terrible sins. 00:09:11.73\00:09:14.50 He escaped into Thailand. 00:09:14.50\00:09:16.46 But quickly wound up in jail. 00:09:16.46\00:09:19.13 Now alone in his cell, Duang had ample time 00:09:19.13\00:09:23.10 to wonder would God really forgive him. 00:09:23.10\00:09:25.80 Adventist World Radio shares the hope of Christ 00:09:29.16\00:09:33.03 with millions of people everyday in their own languages. 00:09:33.03\00:09:37.06 For more information, visit awr.org. 00:09:37.06\00:09:40.73 As you can see AWR is frontline mission radio. 00:09:43.66\00:09:47.66 Our first priority is to travel where missionaries cannot go. 00:09:47.66\00:09:52.10 We broadcast thousands of hours each day 00:09:52.10\00:09:54.46 in 70 major languages of the world. 00:09:54.46\00:09:57.73 AWR has the capability and capacity of blanketing 00:09:57.73\00:10:00.86 almost 80% of the world's population. 00:10:00.86\00:10:04.03 Not only do we broadcast via shortwave radio, 00:10:04.03\00:10:07.10 but our signal is on over 1,000 FM and AM stations 00:10:07.10\00:10:10.96 around the world as well. 00:10:10.96\00:10:13.16 Our podcast subscribers, Internet users, 00:10:13.16\00:10:16.03 satellite downlinks are growing rapidly, 00:10:16.03\00:10:18.63 evidenced by the 100,000 plus emails, letters, 00:10:18.63\00:10:22.30 and phone calls we receive each and every year. 00:10:22.30\00:10:25.50 Yes, AWR is your mission radio. 00:10:25.50\00:10:28.80 No walls and no borders. 00:10:28.80\00:10:30.46 For AWR that means change lives and change hearts 00:10:30.46\00:10:33.36 around the world because God is using 00:10:33.36\00:10:36.23 the airwaves of AWR to reach people everywhere. 00:10:36.23\00:10:39.30 I know that the things we see today on this planet 00:10:45.63\00:10:48.30 are just small portions of what God prepared for us. 00:10:48.30\00:10:52.40 So you don't care what other young people think, 00:10:52.40\00:10:54.70 it's just your relationship with God. 00:10:54.70\00:10:57.80 This is my relationship with God. 00:10:57.80\00:11:00.13 And with my friends, my relationship became better 00:11:00.13\00:11:02.93 because they became better and started respecting 00:11:02.93\00:11:05.70 me more for being a Christian. 00:11:05.70\00:11:07.60 Being a Christian can be hard and very unpopular, 00:11:07.60\00:11:10.90 but being strong spiritually makes you a stronger Christian. 00:11:10.90\00:11:14.20 Did you find it was the same for you at 15 years old 00:11:14.20\00:11:17.06 to become a Christian and continue in that pathway? 00:11:17.06\00:11:20.56 At 15 years old, I start believing. 00:11:20.56\00:11:23.63 But at 16, I got baptized to achieve that happiness 00:11:23.63\00:11:28.70 you have to grow year by year and become closer with God. 00:11:28.70\00:11:34.23 You told me that AWR has been playing a part in your life. 00:11:34.23\00:11:37.63 Before we came together today, you told me that. 00:11:37.63\00:11:41.03 What part has it played? 00:11:41.03\00:11:43.50 I was left alone for two years as an Adventist. 00:11:43.50\00:11:46.46 And listening at night to the radio, 00:11:46.46\00:11:48.40 I understood that I wasn't alone in this world 00:11:48.40\00:11:50.86 but a part of a big family. 00:11:50.86\00:11:52.70 They gave me hope and confidence. 00:11:52.70\00:11:55.13 Nice to hear the Christian songs in my language. 00:11:55.13\00:11:58.30 I really want to hear God's word, 00:11:58.30\00:12:01.60 who is calling to come to Him because the time is near. 00:12:01.60\00:12:05.50 I really want that and we'll pray for that. 00:12:05.50\00:12:08.70 I want His name to knock on every heart and everyone. 00:12:08.70\00:12:15.26 So you tell others about the AWR programs then? 00:12:15.26\00:12:19.00 About courses, no. 00:12:19.00\00:12:20.73 About the radio station, yes. 00:12:20.73\00:12:23.10 Not only did I tell them about it, 00:12:23.10\00:12:24.80 I turned it on for them so they could listen to it, 00:12:24.80\00:12:27.36 my non-Christian friends. 00:12:27.36\00:12:29.30 So they like the program too? 00:12:29.30\00:12:31.00 Yes, they listened. 00:12:31.00\00:12:32.73 And this may be telling a secret on you being a pastor 00:12:32.73\00:12:36.73 because you told me you're a part time pastor. 00:12:36.73\00:12:39.23 Do you listen to the AWR programs and make 00:12:39.23\00:12:41.80 some notes and share that on the pulpit. 00:12:41.80\00:12:43.93 No radio. 00:12:43.93\00:12:47.16 We just moved recently few days ago. 00:12:47.16\00:12:50.30 Everything is still packed away in the boxes. 00:12:50.30\00:12:53.56 Here in Jerusalem, perhaps, 00:12:56.73\00:12:58.26 it was a street something like this 00:12:58.26\00:12:59.76 that Jesus walked down with His disciples. 00:12:59.76\00:13:02.13 But at that time, the throngs where pressing in everywhere 00:13:02.13\00:13:05.13 around and people wanted to get close to Him. 00:13:05.13\00:13:08.53 But all of a sudden in the middle of all this 00:13:08.53\00:13:10.56 pushing and shoving, Jesus stopped. 00:13:10.56\00:13:12.76 He turned and said "Who touched me?" 00:13:12.76\00:13:15.43 And for a moment, everybody's looking, 00:13:15.43\00:13:16.83 thinking "What are you saying? 00:13:16.83\00:13:18.23 Everybody is touching you." 00:13:18.23\00:13:19.63 The disciple said, "Master, look at the throngs." 00:13:19.63\00:13:22.43 And then one dear little lady came up and said, 00:13:22.43\00:13:25.70 "I was the one who touched you." 00:13:25.70\00:13:28.10 And Jesus said, "You know, you are healed, dear lady, 00:13:28.10\00:13:30.80 because you touched me with faith. 00:13:30.80\00:13:33.93 You reached out and grabbed the hold of me 00:13:33.93\00:13:35.56 with all that you had, and desired to be healed." 00:13:35.56\00:13:39.43 Tremendous story, a casual touch does nothing in our lives, 00:13:39.43\00:13:43.60 but the touch of faith grabbing the hold 00:13:43.60\00:13:45.23 of Jesus that's what changes. 00:13:45.23\00:13:47.30 Most of the street are new stones 00:14:25.83\00:14:27.73 but this area they found 3 meters down. 00:14:27.73\00:14:30.16 These are the original pavements 00:14:30.16\00:14:31.73 where Jesus walked in the Via Dolorosa. 00:14:31.73\00:14:34.36 Carried His cross here for you and for me. 00:14:35.70\00:14:38.10 It's interesting that just right over here are men machine guns. 00:14:38.10\00:14:41.73 I'm sure Jesus looked forward to this time, 00:14:42.10\00:14:44.46 that's probably why He wept 00:14:44.46\00:14:46.40 up there on the hill overlooking Jerusalem. 00:14:46.40\00:14:48.96 I hadn't realized how long and arduous 00:14:53.30\00:14:55.83 the track for Jesus was carrying the Cross of Calvary 00:14:56.43\00:14:59.36 because it's all up hill. 00:14:59.36\00:15:00.80 At this point on the Via Dolorosa, 00:15:01.56\00:15:04.06 He collapsed. He could no longer carry the cross. 00:15:04.66\00:15:07.33 And here we're told Simon picked it up and carried it for Him. 00:15:07.76\00:15:12.53 They've actually built a little Chapel 00:15:12.53\00:15:14.06 in this area commemorating that moment. 00:15:14.06\00:15:16.00 It's exciting to me that you are young people. 00:15:19.10\00:15:21.30 You have accepted Christ in many marvelous ways it came together. 00:15:21.30\00:15:26.10 But the listeners and our viewers need to know that, 00:15:27.96\00:15:33.43 that God speaks every language. 00:15:33.43\00:15:35.50 I need an interpreter while at times to understand you. 00:15:35.50\00:15:38.20 But God speaks every language. 00:15:38.40\00:15:40.03 He reaches every heart around the world. 00:15:40.03\00:15:42.33 And what would you like to share with the people 00:15:43.00\00:15:45.56 now that are going to be watching, 00:15:45.56\00:15:46.96 may be listening to this program in different parts of the world. 00:15:46.96\00:15:49.80 What does Jesus Christ mean to you, 00:15:49.80\00:15:51.66 and what should they know? 00:15:51.66\00:15:53.03 God is love. God gives us a happy heart, hope, and belief. 00:15:53.90\00:15:58.10 Hope for the best, hope in the people. 00:15:58.10\00:16:00.33 For those watching this program, 00:16:01.56\00:16:03.83 for those listening to this word, 00:16:04.30\00:16:06.70 I want you to turn to God. 00:16:06.70\00:16:09.06 He really wants you to be next to Him. 00:16:09.06\00:16:12.06 What's your favorite part of the AWR program? 00:16:12.06\00:16:15.10 The songs and mostly the Bible study, 00:16:15.10\00:16:17.80 and when people discuss their relationship with God. 00:16:17.80\00:16:20.70 And how about you? Same question. 00:16:22.10\00:16:23.80 What's the most favorite part? The music. 00:16:23.80\00:16:26.50 And I am very thankful for His love 00:16:26.93\00:16:30.66 and is always trying to reach ones heart. 00:16:30.66\00:16:34.03 The radio has no limit, where ever you are, 00:16:34.03\00:16:37.13 just raise your antenna, tune in, and start listening. 00:16:37.13\00:16:41.20 What would you do if AWR wasn't there? 00:16:41.50\00:16:44.16 Had it never been there? 00:16:44.16\00:16:45.83 The radio is called voice of hope. 00:16:45.83\00:16:47.80 If there was no radio, there wouldn't be that voice of hope. 00:16:48.20\00:16:52.10 Upon the hill where the large church is, 00:16:53.50\00:16:55.80 I am told is where Jesus had the last supper. 00:16:55.80\00:16:58.10 And from that area they came on down the hill, 00:16:58.50\00:17:00.86 crossed over the Kidron up into the garden of Gethsemane 00:17:00.86\00:17:04.10 here in this area, the area of the final conflict. 00:17:04.10\00:17:08.26 Through the radio waves of AWR, 00:17:45.86\00:17:47.76 God is reaching people around the world. 00:17:47.76\00:17:49.86 We'd like to offer you an edition of making waves. 00:17:51.63\00:17:54.06 It's four of our episodes 00:17:54.06\00:17:55.53 brought to you from around the world. 00:17:55.53\00:17:57.30 God speaking to hearts, 00:17:57.90\00:17:59.63 the hearts of the listeners of AWR,exciting stories. 00:17:59.63\00:18:02.26 We hope that you'll share those with friends and neighbors, 00:18:02.60\00:18:05.03 acquaintances anyone who come in contact with. 00:18:05.03\00:18:07.56 Join us to make waves. 00:18:07.56\00:18:08.96 It's completely free. 00:18:08.96\00:18:10.33 Right now the information is on your screen. 00:18:11.00\00:18:12.83 For your free,no obligation DVD, write to Adventist World Radio, 00:18:14.43\00:18:19.10 12501 Old Columbia Pike, Silver Spring, Maryland 20904 00:18:19.10\00:18:25.33 or call 1-866-503-3531. 00:18:25.33\00:18:30.43 Or log onto www.awr.org/MWDVD. 00:18:30.43\00:18:37.66 Be sure to Request Offer #10. 00:18:37.66\00:18:40.06 That number again is 1-866-503-3531. 00:18:40.06\00:18:45.80 To be here in the Garden Gethsemane, 00:18:46.83\00:18:49.66 to look at the size of these olive trees, 00:18:50.30\00:18:52.40 to think this is the location perhaps 00:18:52.40\00:18:55.10 that Jesus and the disciples walked, 00:18:55.10\00:18:57.30 where Jesus instructed them on everyday life, 00:18:57.93\00:19:00.70 the parables to help them understand, 00:19:01.30\00:19:03.76 to prepare them for their work for what was going to happen 00:19:03.76\00:19:07.00 next in their lives because these were the men, 00:19:07.00\00:19:09.16 they were going to reach the world for Jesus Christ. 00:19:09.83\00:19:13.00 These were the men who were preparing right then. 00:19:13.76\00:19:16.63 As Jesus looks up the olives and thinks about 00:19:17.10\00:19:19.60 the Holy Spirit, the oil of the spirit, 00:19:19.60\00:19:22.53 the oil that lit the temple lamps 00:19:22.73\00:19:24.56 that cast light everywhere. 00:19:24.56\00:19:26.50 The Holy Spirit is supposed to be in our lives to give us 00:19:28.16\00:19:30.83 the light that shines out to all the world. 00:19:30.83\00:19:33.66 I'm told they placed this pillar here, 00:19:39.30\00:19:41.00 from the Garden of Gethsemane. 00:19:41.60\00:19:43.13 Perhaps, it's the only thing that is left from that time 00:19:43.46\00:19:47.16 when Jesus came to struggle for the human race. 00:19:47.16\00:19:50.86 When the disciples and Jesus arrived 00:19:53.50\00:19:55.36 at the Garden of Gethsemane, He asked the disciples stay here 00:19:55.36\00:19:59.33 and pray while I go little distance from you and pray. 00:19:59.33\00:20:02.73 When He came back from His first agony, 00:20:03.63\00:20:06.06 He found them all asleep. He said, 00:20:06.06\00:20:08.00 "Could you not pray with me just for a little while?" 00:20:08.00\00:20:11.20 Later on coming back to them again, 00:20:12.10\00:20:13.80 He again found them asleep and finally He said, 00:20:13.80\00:20:16.16 "The spirit is willing but the flesh is truly weak." 00:20:16.36\00:20:19.63 I'm told that the olive tree 00:20:34.73\00:20:36.13 right behind me is 2,000 years old. 00:20:36.13\00:20:38.30 This tree could've been here in the Garden of Gethsemane 00:20:39.26\00:20:42.90 at the time of Jesus. It's something to think about 00:20:42.90\00:20:46.70 how our Lord knelt down, began weeping, 00:20:46.70\00:20:49.43 a young man on his early 30. 00:20:49.43\00:20:51.26 What young man of that age wants to die? 00:20:51.26\00:20:53.43 But He was willing to die for you and me, 00:20:53.43\00:20:55.46 to give His life for us. But He said, 00:20:55.90\00:20:57.40 "Father, please If there is another way, let it happen. 00:20:57.40\00:21:00.56 Let this cup pass from me, 00:21:00.96\00:21:02.60 nevertheless not my will but your will be done." 00:21:02.60\00:21:05.96 Three times he fought that battle with Satan, 00:21:06.90\00:21:09.13 three times he fought that battle with self. 00:21:09.13\00:21:11.33 But each time He surrendered himself to the father. 00:21:11.33\00:21:15.56 Said, that father, "Your will be done." 00:21:15.56\00:21:17.50 Because of the victory that Jesus gained 00:21:20.53\00:21:22.43 here in the garden of Gethsemane and then later on, 00:21:22.43\00:21:25.03 on Calvary's Cross, He was able to tell the disciples 00:21:25.03\00:21:28.23 to go into all the world and spread the Gospel message 00:21:28.23\00:21:31.76 with power, with strength, and with energy. 00:21:31.76\00:21:34.60 Again, because He had gained the victory first 00:21:34.60\00:21:38.23 and provided that power to His disciples 00:21:38.83\00:21:41.20 and ultimately to you and to me. 00:21:41.20\00:21:42.66 In the garden, Jesus was captured. 00:22:01.63\00:22:04.00 All of the disciples fled. They took Jesus back up 00:22:04.40\00:22:07.60 the hill again to the area 00:22:07.60\00:22:09.13 where He originally was with the last supper. 00:22:09.13\00:22:11.23 In that area, they held the first part of the trial. 00:22:11.23\00:22:14.40 Peter denied his Lord there. 00:22:14.63\00:22:16.46 Then they let Him on into the city 00:22:16.46\00:22:18.70 for further trial with Pilate. It was on a courtyard 00:22:18.70\00:22:22.66 perhaps something like this where they brought Jesus 00:22:22.66\00:22:24.96 in the middle of the night 00:22:24.96\00:22:26.33 to arraign Him before the high priest.Peter snuck in. 00:22:26.56\00:22:28.56 Peter snuck in. People are milling around every where 00:22:29.26\00:22:32.56 but Peter didn't want to be noticed. 00:22:32.56\00:22:34.26 He came up. He saw a little fire. 00:22:35.16\00:22:36.76 He came up close to the fire, pulled his collar up 00:22:37.53\00:22:39.93 and there he sat trying to warm his hands. 00:22:39.93\00:22:41.73 Every once in a while, he would take a glance 00:22:41.73\00:22:43.93 and look and see what was happening to Jesus. 00:22:43.93\00:22:45.96 Someone noticed him. They asked him, 00:22:47.46\00:22:50.00 "Who are you? You are the one that was with Jesus?" 00:22:50.00\00:22:51.86 He says, "No, I am not. No, I am not." 00:22:51.86\00:22:53.30 And he huddles a little lower. 00:22:53.30\00:22:55.06 But soon they recognize him again. At this time, 00:22:55.06\00:22:58.23 he said,"No, I am not the one." But he huddles a little more. 00:22:58.23\00:23:02.46 He takes another look. Still Jesus is being tried 00:23:02.46\00:23:05.70 but soon someone says, 00:23:06.30\00:23:07.70 "You are the one. You are the very one." 00:23:07.70\00:23:09.63 And now he cusses and he swears 00:23:10.16\00:23:12.10 as an old fisherman that he used to be 00:23:12.10\00:23:14.16 and as with the words dripping from his lips, 00:23:14.66\00:23:18.00 he looks and Jesus turns and looks at him, 00:23:18.00\00:23:21.10 and his heart is broken and Peter runs away 00:23:21.76\00:23:25.10 In 1883, the British General, 00:23:26.50\00:23:28.43 Charles Gordon came across this location. 00:23:28.43\00:23:30.60 He saw what appeared to be a skull in the rocks. 00:23:31.20\00:23:33.30 He looked the eyes and the nose and the mouth 00:23:33.30\00:23:35.43 and thought could this be? The location is correct, 00:23:35.43\00:23:38.23 right outside the walls of Jerusalem. 00:23:38.23\00:23:40.40 This may be the place of the crucifixion of Jesus Christ. 00:23:40.96\00:23:44.30 We're in a location called the Garden Tomb. 00:23:48.10\00:23:50.50 Now this may not be the actual location where Jesus was laid 00:23:50.50\00:23:53.86 but it's a tomb of someone rich like Joseph of Arimathea. 00:23:53.86\00:23:57.96 They took Jesus off the cross. They laid Him in the tomb. 00:23:58.83\00:24:02.10 They sealed it with a large stone. 00:24:03.03\00:24:04.60 On Sunday, the angel from heaven came down as a lightning flash. 00:24:04.60\00:24:10.46 The Roman guard, who was here to guard the tomb 00:24:11.33\00:24:14.13 and not allow entrance to anyone lay as a dead man. 00:24:14.13\00:24:16.96 The angel called Jesus forth, 00:24:16.96\00:24:18.93 Jesus, who had laid there dead, was now resurrected. 00:24:18.93\00:24:22.13 Interesting point is the soldiers 00:24:22.86\00:24:25.50 were from every country or many countries. 00:24:25.50\00:24:27.56 Imagine after their tour of duty had ended, 00:24:27.56\00:24:30.60 they went and told their countrymen everywhere. 00:24:31.66\00:24:33.96 Thus the Gospel was spread to many lands. 00:24:33.96\00:24:36.70 The angel stayed and waited 00:24:36.70\00:24:40.20 and the woman showed up 00:24:40.50\00:24:41.90 later that day to embalm the body of Jesus. 00:24:41.90\00:24:44.36 But the angel said, "He's risen, He is not here. 00:24:44.36\00:24:46.86 He's going to meet all of you. Go tell His disciples and Peter, 00:24:46.86\00:24:51.30 the Lord is risen." 00:24:51.30\00:24:52.66 Whatever you do, don't forget Peter who denied me. 00:24:52.96\00:24:56.10 Don't forget Peter who has forsaken me. 00:24:56.10\00:24:58.03 Don't forget Peter who is brokenhearted. 00:24:58.03\00:24:59.86 Remember Peter how much our Lord loves, and calls, 00:25:00.33\00:25:04.23 and yearns after every one of us. 00:25:04.23\00:25:06.30 Jerusalem, where God provided victory over sin, 00:25:12.00\00:25:14.86 and where His great commission was spoken, 00:25:15.46\00:25:17.33 "Go ye into all the world." 00:25:17.60\00:25:19.63 You just moved, you don't have a radio at the moment, 00:25:20.96\00:25:23.90 but are you looking forward to getting one, 00:25:23.90\00:25:25.43 you can have the program again? 00:25:25.43\00:25:26.80 For sure, of course. Certainly. 00:25:27.30\00:25:32.46 Oh, English? All right. Certainly, I understood that. 00:25:33.16\00:25:37.16 To listen is what I do. That's good. Yes.
