Jakarta is a massive city.

It's loud, it's
crowded, it's busy.

And many people
who live in this city

just love to
come to these places,

shopping malls.

And this is the largest
shopping mall in Indonesia,

the MTA Mall

and you can see that people
even live on the top of it,

in the apartments above it.

People come here to
malls throughout Jakarta,

more than 170 of them,

they meet friends, they
go to restaurants, cafes,

they can shop in
hundreds of stores.

That is if you can afford it

because like many
cities around the world today,

Jakarta is a mixture
of the rich, very rich,

and the very poor.

We'll be looking at
mission right here in Indonesia,

but first up let's
travel to Southern Asia.

When Anchal was eight,

she left her small village

and arrived at Varanasi
Seventh-day Adventist School.

She had no friends,

she didn't respect the teachers,

and she knew
nothing about Jesus.

Anchal moved into the dormitory

and quickly
began making friends.

The dorm is a social place

where students play games,
relax, and do school work.

Many of the students
spend time reading their Bibles.

This was a
totally different world

to Anchal's
previous life in the village,

but she found herself
enjoying Bible studies

and trying to get good grades.

Eventually, Anchal
gave her heart to Jesus

and is so grateful for
her experience at the school.

Really God has

and so many
activities in this church,

holistic learning experience.

from this small school.

dormitories are overfull.

The girls are
crammed into a small space

with bunk beds piled
up against each other.

This quarter, a portion
of your 13th Sabbath Offering

the girls' dormitory,

girls to attend school.

the dorms are there,

Bahasa, and it means health.

So we're going to

there's actually a franchise
of Centers of Influence

club or Club Sehat.

And what do they do?

Christ's method of mingling,

sympathizing, meeting
needs, winning confidence,

and then inviting
people to follow Christ.

social support for those

are running these centers,

volunteering, or are they paid?

These individuals are
the ones who are volunteers.

one story of Evie.

And Evie was a
bank vice president

here in Jakarta in
the financial district,

and she obviously is at
the top of the upper end

of kind of the
society and there.

She was stuck in
Jakarta's traffic,

which is notorious in the
world for being so congested.

And during that time,

she was scrolling
through the radio.

She was actually found
our team's media ministry.

And there, she was
able to hear a invitation,

"Hey, if you're in
this part of the city,

come join us for
a health program."

And so Evie and
her mother was facing

some health conditions

that she needed
some support with.

And so Evie went to Club Sehat
and she was able to see the,

you know, learn
about the message,

but then she went to a retreats
at the lifestyle center,

and then that's where

she got to learn
more about Jesus.

And over time,

then she began to see the beauty

integrated holistic message

that we have as Adventist

joined the Adventist family.
