00:17 Welcome back to Paris
00:18 and behind me you can see the Arc de Triomphe 00:22 on the busy Champs-Elysees and next up, 00:25 we're going to travel to the Mission 360 Kitchen 00:27 for delicious mango salsa recipe 00:31 inspired by the country of Aruba. 00:34 Welcome to our Mission 360 Kitchen. 00:37 We like to think of the world 00:38 that we live in as a global neighborhood. 00:40 And so, we've chosen 00:41 to introduce our audience 00:43 to some easy to make international recipes. 00:47 So we're gonna talk about 00:49 a mango salsa recipe that we love. 00:52 Now, I think, Kayla, 00:53 you had some other suggestions. 00:54 If you don't have mangoes, what would you use? 00:56 You could even use peaches. 00:58 Peaches? Apricots? 00:59 Definitely. 01:01 Basically I think any kind of summer fruit. 01:02 But we're using mangoes today 01:04 and we are doing this 01:06 as a nod to our friends in the Caribbean islands. 01:11 So we're going to start out with some mangoes, 01:14 actually, could you read our list for us 01:16 and so we know what we're putting in. 01:19 Yeah. 01:37 Well, it sounds pretty easy. 01:39 I think anyone could make it. 01:40 It just takes a little time to prep it, 01:42 but then it's really excellent. 01:44 So it's well worth your time and effort. 01:46 Great for summer. 01:47 So let's start with a mangoes 01:50 and I'm just going to put them in this bowl here. 01:52 These were our fresh mangoes. 01:55 So when it comes July 01:56 or whenever they come in season in your area, 01:59 take advantage of that. 02:02 They look beautiful, smell really good. 02:05 This is the red bell pepper. 02:08 That's colorful already. 02:10 And so now 02:11 I'm just going to take some of the green onion 02:14 and just put that all. 02:20 We have cilantro, 02:21 which is one of my favorite smells. 02:23 Smell so good. 02:24 Cilantro makes everything better. 02:27 Now we've got two jalapeno peppers in here. 02:31 I recommend that 02:32 if you're not used to having jalapeno. 02:34 So you start out with just some because it is a little spicy, 02:37 but it's not. 02:38 It's not super hot like Scotch bonnet peppers. 02:40 But give that a try. 02:42 We'll start small. 02:43 You can add more later if you need to. 02:45 Yes. 02:46 So this is the lemon and lime juice. 02:49 And actually makes quite a large bath. 02:53 So I'm going to just stir this around a little bit 02:55 just to combine all the ingredients. 02:59 Now normally you would make this 03:00 and put it in the refrigerator 03:02 so that all the flavors will meld 03:03 for about a half an hour. 03:06 And it's going to keep for several days after that. 03:08 But you know, fresh is always best. 03:13 But today we're in, 03:14 we're wanting to sample it right away. 03:16 So we're going to go ahead 03:17 and put it in our bowl with our chips. 03:21 Do you want to add a little bit of salt perhaps? 03:23 Oh, yes. Let's do that. 03:24 It brings out the flavors a little bit more too. 03:26 Yes, I think so. 03:27 Perfect. 03:29 We'll do that and don't forget the salt. 03:33 It does make things a little bit better. 03:35 Here we go. 03:36 Okay, let's go ahead and put it on our platter. 03:40 Do you want to do that, Kayla? 03:42 Yes. Let me remove the plates. 03:44 So here we just have yellow corn chips. 03:46 And these are blue corn chips. 03:51 You can make it as pretty as you like. 03:53 All the colors are really nice, Nancy, I like it. 03:55 Oh, I think it's beautiful. 03:58 I can almost eat that as a salad. 04:00 I would. 04:04 Well, let's try a piece. 04:06 I can't wait. 04:08 We fill a little bit of that dip on there. 04:13 Here we go. 04:18 It's good. Feel perfect. 04:20 Well, the cilantro. 04:22 And that's gonna be really good 04:23 after it's been in the fridge for about half an hour. 04:25 So thanks for joining us in our Mission 360 Kitchen. 04:28 See you next time. 04:48 Next up, we traveled to Southern Asia 04:50 to learn more about 04:52 Adventist Mission in that region. 04:54 When Sarah's husband left her four years ago, 04:57 she knew she had to find a way to support herself. 05:00 But she didn't know where to look for a job. 05:03 She prayed for direction. 05:04 And God impressed her to share His Word 05:07 with the people living around her. 05:09 Sarah began visiting her neighbors 05:11 and their homes. 05:13 I prayed for the sick, and they got well. 05:16 I prayed for those who had evil spirits 05:18 and the spirits went away. 05:20 I prayed for those who couldn't have children, 05:23 and they were able to start a family. 05:25 Some people were happy when Sarah visited them, 05:28 but others didn't like it. 05:30 One day Sarah visited a family who was worshipping an idol. 05:34 They demanded that she worship with them. 05:36 But she refused. 05:38 One young woman angrily plunged Sarah's hand 05:41 into a pot of boiling oil. 05:45 I prayed. 05:46 And when I removed my hand from the oil, 05:48 it wasn't burned at all. 05:51 The next day, 05:52 the young woman's father called Sarah to apologize. 05:55 He asked her to pray for his family. 05:57 Sarah was happy to uplift this family in prayer. 06:01 Now they are changed. 06:03 They have accepted God and they worship with us. 06:06 Five families witnessed 06:08 Sarah escaped serious injury that day. 06:11 They were amazed. 06:12 And they too have asked her to pray for them. 06:15 When the local Adventist pastor 06:17 learned about Sarah's miraculous experience, 06:19 he told her, 06:21 "You need to work for God." 06:23 He offered her a position as a Global Mission pioneer, 06:26 and Sarah eagerly accepted it. 06:29 Four years later, 06:31 she still visits families in her community. 06:33 She prays with them 06:34 and shares literature about Jesus. 06:37 On Sabbath, 06:38 she invites a group of women to worship in her home. 06:41 Every Wednesday, she hosts a Bible study. 06:45 There are many widows and orphans in her city. 06:47 And Sarah does all she can 06:49 to meet their spiritual and physical needs. 06:51 She often buys the women's saris 06:53 or food for their families. 06:55 As a pioneer, it's not only about prayer, 06:57 or just going to their houses, 07:00 if I have extra clothes, I want to cloth them. 07:03 If they need food, I will feed them. 07:05 It's my duty. 07:07 Sara is no longer sad that her husband abandoned her. 07:12 After he left, 07:13 God has given me more strength so that I can preach the gospel 07:17 and tell people that He is coming soon. 07:21 He is taking care of me. 07:24 Sarah asks you to pray for the people of her city. 07:27 I want them to be ready for the second coming. 07:30 I also want to appeal to everyone 07:32 to be an example to others, 07:35 and serve them wholeheartedly. 07:38 Sarah has found her greatest joy 07:41 in being a Global Mission pioneer. 07:44 I'm happy 07:45 and I'm willing to serve God as long as I'm alive. 07:51 Please pray for Sarah 07:52 and all our Global Mission pioneers around the world 07:55 who are sharing the good news of Jesus' love 07:58 and soon return. 08:20 Well, thank you so much for joining us 08:22 on today's program. 08:23 And I hope that you've enjoyed 08:25 and been challenged 08:26 by our 360 degree view of mission around the world. 08:30 We've seen the challenges in southern Asia, 08:33 right here in France. 08:35 But challenges are also opportunities 08:37 and I want to thank you so much 08:39 for what you do to make this mission possible. 08:41 Your gifts to global mission, your prayers, 08:45 your personal involvement, 08:46 make it possible for us 08:48 to start urban Centers of Influence 08:50 to start new groups of believers 08:52 and to take this good news to all parts of the world. 08:55 Well, for Adventist Mission, I'm Gary Krause. 08:57 And I hope you can join me next time 08:59 right here on
