00:20 Welcome back to Amsterdam
00:21 and behind me you can see the royal palace.
00:24 And it looks like it's undergoing renovations
00:26 at the moment.
00:27 Next up, we traveled to the Mission 360 Kitchen
00:30 for a delicious vegetarian international recipe.
00:33 Welcome to our Mission 360 Kitchen.
00:36 We like to think of our world as a global neighborhood.
00:40 And so we're going to bring
00:41 an international recipe to you today.
00:43 And this was inspired by the country of Belize.
00:47 Now, in Belize, they tend to like spicy soups
00:52 and spicy dishes.
00:54 So we're going to make ours a little spicy,
00:55 but we'll tell you how you can tone that down
00:58 if you don't care for the heat of chili very much.
01:01 But the beauty of this particular soup is that
01:03 when you're in a hurry,
01:05 you can take canned beans and tomatoes
01:09 and ingredients like that,
01:11 you can put it all together in a pan
01:12 and you can make your guests feel like
01:14 you've been working for hours.
01:17 So, of course, you probably
01:18 like to have the beans that you cook yourself,
01:20 but sometimes it's just not possible.
01:22 So we're going to show you a fast way to do that.
01:24 You want to tell us
01:26 what our ingredients are, Kayla?
01:27 Yes.
01:46 So we're going to use
01:47 four different kinds of beans today,
01:49 but you can actually use two different kinds
01:51 whatever's in your pantry, make it easy on yourself.
01:54 And so, that's what
01:55 we're going to start doing today.
01:57 Just going to start putting cans of beans
01:59 in our soup pot here.
02:01 So here's the first one.
02:03 This is nice and simple. I love it.
02:05 Black-eyed peas.
02:09 And I don't drain them, I just put them everything in.
02:13 Can I put in some black beans?
02:22 I like that you don't have to measure.
02:24 Yeah.
02:25 And this is some garbanzos or chickpeas.
02:29 We're going to pop that in the pan.
02:33 It's definitely a very quick recipe.
02:36 You don't even have to worry about nutrients,
02:40 for nutrients.
02:41 And also it makes a big pot of soup.
02:44 So that's good.
02:45 So I'm going to add the canned tomatoes next.
02:48 And I'm just gonna put my spoon here so we can avoid splashing.
02:53 Okay, as you can see
02:55 we're starting to get a big batch already.
02:59 Next is enchilada sauce. Okay.
03:02 I'm adding. Also trying to be gentle.
03:06 Okay.
03:08 I'm going to add the canned pumpkin.
03:10 Now with the enchilada sauce,
03:12 we use green enchilada sauce today,
03:14 but you can use red enchilada sauce
03:15 if you like that better.
03:17 I just happen to like the green a little better.
03:19 So that's why I use that one.
03:22 We're gonna put in green chilies now.
03:24 Okay.
03:27 That's easy so far.
03:29 Should we add a little salt?
03:31 Just a little bit. Just a little bit.
03:36 If salt is a problem for you,
03:38 you can get buy the low sodium cans of beans.
03:42 And that's one way to cut back on that a little bit.
03:44 So we're just going to mix all this
03:45 and all we have to do is heat it up.
03:48 And it is ready to serve.
03:51 So we're going to cook that and we'll show you
03:54 the finished results in just a minute.
03:58 And now we're ready.
03:59 Let's just see how it turned out.
04:01 Oh, that's good.
04:02 Let me stir it one more time first.
04:03 Okay.
04:06 Yes, yes. Perfect.
04:11 Oh, it looks so good.
04:13 It does, it mixes beautifully.
04:14 Excited to try the pumpkin in the soup.
04:16 It looks like something that simmered
04:17 for a long time too.
04:22 Perfect.
04:24 And one optional choice
04:25 that you might like to try is a bit of avocados.
04:29 Do you like some? I would.
04:31 You have some on top. Yeah, that sounds great.
04:33 That looks good.
04:35 Love avocado.
04:36 Okay, let see how it is.
04:40 Smells so good too.
04:46 There's a little kick to it.
04:48 So, but I like it that way, too much hotter
04:50 and it's going to be too much for me.
04:52 So if you like to dial back, just put in less chili
04:56 or just omit it completely,
04:57 but it will add something extra to this.
05:00 So thank you for joining us in our Mission 360 Kitchen,
05:02 and we'll see you next time.
05:24 Next up, we traveled to the city of Oslo
05:26 in the country of Norway.
05:38 In the 1880s, Ellen White visited Oslo, Norway
05:41 and preached
05:43 at the Bethel Seventh-day Adventist Church.
05:45 Today, Oslo is one of Europe's most expensive cities.
05:49 Although it ranks high on quality of life,
05:51 it's the center of the Norwegian economy
05:54 and government.
05:55 The Bethel Church still operates
05:57 at a prime location in the heart of the city.
06:00 On Sabbath you'll find a melting pot of cultures
06:03 forming Sabbath school classes
06:05 and then coming together for the main service.
06:07 In this church, youth are a high priority.
06:10 In 2017, a portion of your 13th Sabbath Offering
06:14 started a renovation project for a space specifically
06:18 for youth outreach.
06:20 The youth group in Oslo is very active and inclusive.
06:23 Today, Alex and Marielle
06:26 are asking church members to spread the word about
06:28 upcoming events to any young person they know.
06:32 There are universities scattered throughout Oslo
06:35 with many students hoping to make new friends.
06:38 This group happily welcomes newcomers
06:40 into the close-knit community.
06:42 Events are scheduled throughout the week
06:43 for the youth to connect
06:45 with each other outside of church too.
06:47 I love the camping trips that we have.
06:49 Going skiing and hanging out together
06:51 because then you get to have
06:53 like a lot of deep conversations together,
06:56 do with friends that you
06:58 normally don't get the possibility
06:59 to in normal settings.
07:02 I'm a very social being, I need people.
07:07 Just a bunch of great guys and girls,
07:09 good people to hang around with.
07:11 On this Sabbath,
07:12 they've planned a picnic in the park after church
07:14 where they can socialize and get to know each other.
07:18 For me, I don't always think about it
07:21 as much as bringing, you know,
07:23 the youth group more as my friends,
07:25 we want to go and hang out
07:27 and then we can just like
07:29 make sort of make an arrangement
07:30 and get together.
07:47 Each Sabbath afternoon, the youth group
07:50 from the Bethel Church joins young Adventist
07:52 and their friends
07:54 from all over Oslo for conversation,
07:56 testimonies and music.
07:58 This gives them another opportunity
08:00 to recharge spiritually and socially.
08:03 Although this larger community benefits
08:05 from spending time together,
08:07 there are many in Oslo who don't know Jesus,
08:10 the challenges of working
08:11 in such a large urban area can be discouraging.
08:15 Norway is a very secular country.
08:18 So, of course, it makes it more difficult for mission.
08:21 We're telling people about the gospel,
08:23 because everyone has sort of heard about it,
08:25 and they have an in a way
08:28 made their own opinion about it.
08:30 So it makes it very difficult to show them
08:33 how good it really is.
08:35 The young people in Oslo ask Adventists
08:37 around the world to join them in prayer.
08:41 We need prayer for trying to have
08:44 the best kind of environment for people
08:46 to get more involved with God and each other.
08:49 So pray for some spiritual guidance,
08:53 help us to be more or better at meeting people
08:56 and show others that we are Christians.
09:00 Please pray for this group in Norway.
09:02 And thank you for your support of the 13th Sabbath Offering
09:06 that is helping this group reach more young people.
09:34 Well, that's about it for today's program.
09:37 And I hope that you've enjoyed
09:38 our 360 degree view of mission around the world.
09:41 We've seen many challenges,
09:43 but we've also seen many opportunities.
09:45 We're seeing what young people
09:47 can do to help revive the church and its mission.
09:50 We've seen what's happening with church planting
09:52 in the challenging area of the Netherlands,
09:54 and I want to thank you for what you are doing
09:56 to be part of Adventist Mission
09:59 because every time that you give a donation
10:01 to global mission,
10:02 every time you give your mission offerings,
10:04 when you pray, when you become personally involved,
10:07 you're a part of the Adventist Mission Team
10:09 and what you see on Mission 360
10:11 would not be happening without your support and,
10:14 of course, the blessing of the Holy Spirit.
10:17 Well, for Adventist Mission, I'm Gary Krause.
10:19 And I hope that you can join me next time
10:21 right here on Mission 360.
10:48 Used, broken, betrayed
10:51 Wounded and so afraid
10:54 Five times degraded
10:57 Life, emptied of hope
11:01 Searching for joy
11:07 On her lonely way
11:11 Heading for the well
11:14 By sweltering noon day
11:17 They're taking a drink
11:20 Thirsty for more
11:26 But then she saw man
11:30 Beside the well
11:33 He waits
11:36 Come see the One
11:41 Who told me all I've done
11:45 He spoke to me
11:48 Oh, could He be
11:50 The Chosen One?
11:54 He set me free
11:59 From all my memory
12:03 Washed from my Sin
12:06 Never again
12:08 Thirsty no more
12:12 Thirsty no more
12:18 Standing there in the sun
12:21 Warming and chosen me
12:24 Wearing by the heat
12:27 He spoke gentle and calm
12:31 Give me a drink
12:36 If she only knew
12:39 What He forever do
12:42 She asked him too
12:45 For the offer He brings
12:48 An eternal spring
12:53 He'll grant it all for free
12:58 Satisfied you'll ever be
13:04 Come see the One
13:08 Who told me all I've done
13:12 He spoke to me
13:15 Oh, could He be
13:17 The Chosen One?
13:21 He set me free
13:26 From all my memory...
