It's... 00:01:48.84\00:01:50.17 Of course, yours is the ultimate meditation 00:01:50.21\00:01:52.27 for Jesus Christ and our faith as Christians. 00:01:52.31\00:01:55.94 The meaning of the song it's saying that 00:01:55.98\00:01:57.81 "Lord, hear my prayers or hear my request, 00:01:57.85\00:02:02.55 and may your Holy Spirit dwells in me," 00:02:02.58\00:02:04.75 you know. 00:02:04.79\00:02:06.12 Beautiful. Yes. 00:02:06.15\00:02:07.49 Now you're not just a recording artist, 00:02:07.52\00:02:08.86 you witness for your Lord through your music, right? 00:02:08.89\00:02:10.39 Yeah. 00:02:10.43\00:02:11.76 I am a gospel singer and I'm evangelist, you know. 00:02:11.79\00:02:13.53 Right. We got to get to that. 00:02:13.56\00:02:15.46 You're not just on this program because you're a good singer 00:02:15.50\00:02:18.93 and this is a wonderful quality in that singing 00:02:18.97\00:02:21.84 and I appreciate it. 00:02:21.87\00:02:23.20 But you're an evangelist. 00:02:23.24\00:02:26.41 You are also a literature evangelist, 00:02:26.44\00:02:29.11 a term that our church has used for a long time. 00:02:29.14\00:02:31.71 You sell and distribute Christian literature 00:02:31.75\00:02:34.85 door-to-door in the United States, 00:02:34.88\00:02:37.62 as part of your ministry, 00:02:37.65\00:02:39.32 to gain funds as I understand it 00:02:39.35\00:02:42.29 to further your greater ministry 00:02:42.32\00:02:44.13 in your homeland of Pakistan. 00:02:44.16\00:02:46.16 Yeah, I worked, you know, 00:02:46.19\00:02:47.83 in the past as a Union President 00:02:47.86\00:02:51.23 or Union Publishing Director, sorry, 00:02:51.27\00:02:54.24 and also I worked like 00:02:54.27\00:02:55.60 a Thailand mission publishing director and I... 00:02:55.64\00:02:58.84 In Thailand? In Thailand. 00:02:58.87\00:03:00.21 Ah! I didn't know you've been in Thailand. 00:03:00.24\00:03:01.58 Yeah. I was in Thailand. 00:03:01.61\00:03:02.94 Been there many times... 00:03:02.98\00:03:04.31 For five years I was there. 00:03:04.35\00:03:05.68 And I worked as a colporteur 00:03:05.71\00:03:07.05 and also as a publishing director. 00:03:07.08\00:03:08.45 Colporteur is a term you and I know. 00:03:08.48\00:03:09.82 But again, that's an old term 00:03:09.85\00:03:11.45 for a literature ministry salesman, 00:03:11.49\00:03:17.76 if you like, going door-to-door and witnessing, 00:03:17.79\00:03:21.16 and through selling these materials, 00:03:21.20\00:03:23.60 which is in the great tradition as Seventh-day Adventist 00:03:23.63\00:03:26.00 particularly know of the Waldenses. 00:03:26.03\00:03:28.17 Yep. 00:03:28.20\00:03:29.84 They used to go throughout Europe selling Bible tracts 00:03:29.87\00:03:33.84 and other faith materials. 00:03:33.88\00:03:35.74 This is how a church grow, you know, 00:03:35.78\00:03:37.31 people know actually we are on a very frontline 00:03:37.35\00:03:39.55 when we are doing literature evangelism. 00:03:39.58\00:03:41.82 You know, we meet people, you know, 00:03:41.85\00:03:43.89 that we, of course, we promote our church and our, 00:03:43.92\00:03:48.46 you know, institutes, and also our publications. 00:03:48.49\00:03:52.26 And there are those publications, you know, 00:03:52.29\00:03:54.66 that when people read and they come to church 00:03:54.70\00:03:58.90 and sometime they become Adventist, 00:03:58.93\00:04:00.94 you know that... 00:04:00.97\00:04:02.70 And always it's leading them toward Christian commitment 00:04:02.74\00:04:06.24 and a spiritual awakening in their life. 00:04:06.27\00:04:11.51 And I know after talking to many literature evangelists, 00:04:11.55\00:04:15.35 it's an incredibly rewarding thing 00:04:15.38\00:04:17.65 to meet people in their homes 00:04:17.69\00:04:19.42 and to see the real spiritual need and you've got, 00:04:19.45\00:04:22.29 you've got materials that are speaking of that. 00:04:22.32\00:04:23.96 Yeah. 00:04:23.99\00:04:25.33 So you're not selling per se, 00:04:25.36\00:04:27.33 you're providing a service for spiritually needy 00:04:27.36\00:04:31.23 and searching people. 00:04:31.27\00:04:33.57 While I was in Thailand, 00:04:33.60\00:04:34.94 I just want to tell you that one of the restaurant manager 00:04:34.97\00:04:38.34 and a girl, you know, 00:04:38.37\00:04:41.21 she accepted Christ through our, 00:04:41.24\00:04:44.58 you know, publications and she became Adventist, 00:04:44.61\00:04:48.75 and now she's working for Seventh-day Adventist church. 00:04:48.78\00:04:51.85 Very good, well, I know that 00:04:51.89\00:04:53.59 that story is repeated over and over again. 00:04:53.62\00:04:54.96 Yeah. 00:04:54.99\00:04:56.32 And even many of the people 00:04:56.36\00:04:58.33 who don't necessarily, immediately, 00:04:58.36\00:05:01.33 or obviously join our church. 00:05:01.36\00:05:03.97 I know from different contexts I've had that, 00:05:04.00\00:05:06.30 that people have been positively 00:05:06.33\00:05:07.74 affected by the materials that you 00:05:07.77\00:05:09.64 and others like you are able to place in their homes. 00:05:09.67\00:05:13.51 And I also know from going to many sidewalks sales... 00:05:13.54\00:05:17.15 Yeah. 00:05:17.18\00:05:18.51 ..that people have these books from generations ago sometimes 00:05:18.55\00:05:22.08 and they might sell them in a so book sale 00:05:22.12\00:05:24.79 but they once literature like that is placed, 00:05:24.82\00:05:27.96 it has an incredible lifespan, that person may not read it. 00:05:27.99\00:05:32.39 You know, grandma or a mother may die 00:05:32.43\00:05:34.60 and as they're looking through the material 00:05:34.63\00:05:36.93 and they discover the book for themselves. 00:05:36.97\00:05:38.53 Yeah, because, 00:05:38.57\00:05:39.90 you know our publications are very, very good, 00:05:39.93\00:05:42.87 and plus they produce hard covers, 00:05:42.90\00:05:45.04 and it can be passed from generation to generation. 00:05:45.07\00:05:47.81 Now, I don't know if you've been involved with these 00:05:47.84\00:05:49.91 but there's a set of Bible stories 00:05:49.94\00:05:52.28 then by author Maxwell. 00:05:52.31\00:05:56.18 Yeah, we have... 00:05:56.22\00:05:57.59 I grew up on those, with the pictures... 00:05:57.62\00:05:59.65 I realized that the pictures themselves form the reality 00:05:59.69\00:06:04.46 that I sometimes not confuse but I realize 00:06:04.49\00:06:07.46 that the visuals have informed me 00:06:07.50\00:06:09.26 as much as the words of not just that book 00:06:09.30\00:06:11.43 but when I read the Bible, 00:06:11.47\00:06:12.80 but that it sort of creating a reality to the Bible. 00:06:12.83\00:06:17.87 You know, these books are, 00:06:17.91\00:06:19.24 these books are meant to be like according to the age, 00:06:19.27\00:06:21.78 when children are very young 00:06:21.81\00:06:24.15 or they are three to four years, 00:06:24.18\00:06:26.35 they go "My Bible Friends", they read "My Bible Friends", 00:06:26.38\00:06:29.72 but when they grew then up 00:06:29.75\00:06:31.79 and become little older then they go to 00:06:31.82\00:06:35.02 "The Bible Story" which is ten volume. 00:06:35.06\00:06:37.13 You know, from Genesis to Revelation. 00:06:37.16\00:06:39.39 It's well thought out material and obviously 00:06:39.43\00:06:43.77 when you're doing this, 00:06:43.80\00:06:45.13 you're working for the Seventh-day Adventists church 00:06:45.17\00:06:46.63 but it's far larger than the church. 00:06:46.67\00:06:48.00 Yeah. 00:06:48.04\00:06:49.37 The church from the beginning 00:06:49.40\00:06:50.74 in this ministry has seen itself 00:06:50.77\00:06:52.11 as an inheritor of the obligation 00:06:52.14\00:06:54.21 placed on all people of faith to share. 00:06:54.24\00:06:56.11 And as Jesus said, 00:06:56.14\00:06:58.11 the gospel commission will go into all the world. 00:06:58.15\00:06:59.78 Yeah. 00:06:59.81\00:07:01.15 So it can easily and we feel comfortable 00:07:01.18\00:07:05.05 when it comes back to our faith membership 00:07:05.09\00:07:08.09 in the Seventh-day Adventist church 00:07:08.12\00:07:09.46 but this is not narrow sectarian material. 00:07:09.49\00:07:13.40 This is the Bible story.
