Amazing love. 00:05:45.96\00:05:48.16 Thank you for sharing that it's very good. Amen. 00:05:48.19\00:05:50.32 And we're-- you know you have the ability 00:05:50.35\00:05:53.68 through song but all of this I think need to remind us also 00:05:53.71\00:05:56.73 and talk about religious liberty. 00:05:56.76\00:05:58.70 We're spreading that amazing love around the world. 00:05:58.73\00:06:00.75 Absolutely. A world that has not much love. 00:06:00.78\00:06:03.66 It's right and it is His love, 00:06:03.69\00:06:06.88 His amazing love that is made liberty possible. 00:06:06.91\00:06:10.68 Right absolutely. 00:06:10.71\00:06:12.05 Well, not for the fact that He loved us, 00:06:12.08\00:06:15.79 He would not have created us in His image and created us free. 00:06:15.82\00:06:20.10 As free moral agents and when we lost that freedom 00:06:20.13\00:06:24.68 it was His amazing love that came 00:06:24.71\00:06:27.09 and bought that freedom back. 00:06:27.12\00:06:28.41 You took it right back that was very appreciate 00:06:28.44\00:06:31.06 that when I preach about religious liberty 00:06:31.09\00:06:34.14 I tried to include that 00:06:34.17\00:06:35.29 but I nearly always start with Jesus in Nazareth 00:06:35.32\00:06:37.68 at the beginning of His ministry. 00:06:37.71\00:06:39.58 Proclaiming that message of liberation-- 00:06:39.61\00:06:41.52 Yes. From sin-- Yeah, absolutely. 00:06:41.55\00:06:43.02 Because that's was the man was enslaved to sin. Yes. 00:06:43.05\00:06:46.26 But you're right it goes back even further to the creation 00:06:46.29\00:06:49.94 and even the planning of the creation of man. 00:06:49.97\00:06:51.95 It was done in love. Yes. 00:06:51.98\00:06:53.27 For us. Absolutely, yeah. 00:06:53.30\00:06:55.59 And that is incomprehensive 00:06:55.62\00:06:56.96 because the Bible says you know, 00:06:56.99\00:06:58.31 "What is man that they are mindful of him." 00:06:58.34\00:06:59.98 Absolutely. But yet yes because we were His special creation. 00:07:00.01\00:07:03.44 Absolutely. 00:07:03.47\00:07:05.53 Again back to some of the countries 00:07:05.56\00:07:07.06 you have been to what about Australia? 00:07:07.09\00:07:09.88 Yeah, yes, yeah, your own-- 00:07:09.91\00:07:11.29 I mean it's not a country known for religious persecution 00:07:11.32\00:07:14.83 but what's you take there. 00:07:14.86\00:07:16.38 Well, you know Australia is very 00:07:16.41\00:07:18.53 one of my favorite places to go. 00:07:18.56\00:07:19.94 I think I've been Australia over 10 times you know 00:07:19.97\00:07:23.14 from Perth to Hamilton Island. 00:07:23.17\00:07:25.38 And I think that Australia went through a period 00:07:25.41\00:07:30.58 where the people of faith had to come to grips 00:07:30.61\00:07:34.88 with the fact that their love for God 00:07:34.91\00:07:40.63 near to be manifest in a more humane way in dealing 00:07:40.66\00:07:46.50 with the indigenous population there in Australia. 00:07:46.53\00:07:49.04 That's true. 00:07:49.07\00:07:50.14 And I think at the end of the day 00:07:50.17\00:07:55.33 the faith of the people is what won the day 00:07:55.36\00:07:59.72 or I should say that the kind of relationship 00:07:59.75\00:08:03.83 with Christ that brings justice. 00:08:03.86\00:08:07.11 And that brings harmony and brings healing 00:08:07.14\00:08:12.12 and so for my take of it is Australia 00:08:12.15\00:08:16.06 went through some of those kinds of periods 00:08:16.09\00:08:19.18 that Dr. Stott talked about where people 00:08:19.21\00:08:23.98 used their faith in ways that were not humane. 00:08:24.01\00:08:28.93 But it is now in a place where-- 00:08:28.96\00:08:31.42 Yeah, you and I where talking little bit that off camera 00:08:31.45\00:08:33.83 and I don't think Australia you know was up there 00:08:33.86\00:08:38.22 with some of the worst 00:08:38.25\00:08:39.34 but as said like most colonial exercises-- 00:08:39.37\00:08:42.46 the convicts were of course mistreated as well. 00:08:42.49\00:08:44.33 Yeah. 00:08:44.36\00:08:46.25 The attitude of the colonizers was 00:08:46.28\00:08:47.97 incredibly dismissive and cruel. 00:08:48.00\00:08:49.81 And they were Christians. 00:08:49.84\00:08:50.87 And genocide, yes, towards the indigenous people. 00:08:50.90\00:08:54.53 Yeah. 00:08:54.56\00:08:55.86 And you know that was the very early days 00:08:55.89\00:08:58.03 I think that drifted away from most people's memory. 00:08:58.06\00:09:00.55 The later, the last problem that which is being 00:09:00.58\00:09:03.46 much documented of like was this relocation of the children 00:09:03.49\00:09:07.95 thinking that the government knew better. 00:09:07.98\00:09:10.20 And I think Australia is had to come to grips with that. 00:09:10.23\00:09:12.71 There is a sense of guilt there is no question. Yes. 00:09:12.74\00:09:15.76 And in fact I seem to remember 00:09:15.79\00:09:16.98 the Australian prime minister apologizing-- 00:09:17.01\00:09:18.80 Well, absolutely. Recently for that. 00:09:18.83\00:09:20.29 And that's not a bad thing. 00:09:20.32\00:09:21.53 And some of you haven't seen hear by the way. 00:09:21.56\00:09:23.12 Well, I was going to say I don't like-- 00:09:23.15\00:09:24.64 I like America I've lived here a long time 00:09:24.67\00:09:26.26 but it troubles me when I hear them saying 00:09:26.29\00:09:27.94 that no president should ever apologize for this case. 00:09:27.97\00:09:29.94 Yes, yeah. 00:09:29.97\00:09:31.03 That's shows humility and real politic 00:09:31.06\00:09:34.33 for even a president to apologize on occasions. 00:09:34.36\00:09:37.10 Absolutely. 00:09:37.13\00:09:38.16 Well, you had a great career and it's not over yet. Yes. 00:09:38.19\00:09:42.06 But I not envy but I think anybody could wish 00:09:42.09\00:09:46.73 to have the experiences you have had. 00:09:46.76\00:09:48.61 Well they've been ranged. That's been powerful. 00:09:48.64\00:09:50.52 They've been rich, rich experience. 00:09:50.55\00:09:51.81 And I hope it continues a long term. 00:09:51.84\00:09:54.25 Absolutely and I praise God for the opportunity 00:09:54.28\00:09:56.98 and God bless you. 00:09:57.01\00:09:58.05 Its been great being with you today. 00:09:58.08\00:10:00.89 So many of the science fiction confabulations 00:10:00.92\00:10:04.17 that you'll see on movies nowadays 00:10:04.20\00:10:06.37 have all of the world's leaders sometimes they go further 00:10:06.40\00:10:09.61 all of the galactic leaders gathered together 00:10:09.64\00:10:12.64 to address some overwhelming problem. 00:10:12.67\00:10:16.31 It seems science fiction but in reality 00:10:16.34\00:10:18.22 that's sort of how it is. 00:10:18.25\00:10:19.49 The United Nations such as it is meets quite often 00:10:19.52\00:10:23.82 to address major world problems 00:10:23.85\00:10:26.26 and so often most problems are related to religion. 00:10:26.29\00:10:29.39 At the very beginning at the United Nations 00:10:29.42\00:10:31.06 the formation of the nation of Israel 00:10:31.09\00:10:34.92 it's off with religious heaviness associated 00:10:34.95\00:10:38.77 was one of the first things. 00:10:38.80\00:10:40.29 Ahmedijan of Iran spoke of very particular religious issues. 00:10:40.32\00:10:45.16 But its people like Wintley Phipps 00:10:45.19\00:10:46.78 and others who are leading out for freedom, 00:10:46.81\00:10:49.21 intolerance and religious accommodation. 00:10:49.24\00:10:52.34 Those people as they travel the world on jet 00:10:52.37\00:10:55.16 or on other conveyances are able to, what? 00:10:55.19\00:10:59.10 "Sing their way into the hearts 00:10:59.13\00:11:01.99 and the minds of those directing world affairs." 00:11:02.02\00:11:04.88 We need to be emissaries globally or locally 00:11:04.91\00:11:08.87 wherever we are for freedom principles 00:11:08.90\00:11:11.65 for the principles that under guard freedom of religion 00:11:11.68\00:11:16.08 and the integrity of the individual conscience. 00:11:16.11\00:11:20.43 For Liberty Insider this is Lincoln Steed. 00:11:20.46\00:11:24.46
