Good, tell us 00:01:02.01\00:01:04.35 just a little bit about your ministry before we 00:01:04.38\00:01:06.24 make this tofu here. Well we first of all we 00:01:06.27\00:01:09.05 have a Peaceful Waters Bed & Breakfast, where 00:01:09.08\00:01:11.78 we allow people to stay and we serve breakfast 00:01:11.81\00:01:13.62 for them and another one we do is For His 00:01:13.65\00:01:16.87 Glory Health Ministries, where we do cooking 00:01:16.90\00:01:21.22 classes but we try to put Christ into them, yes, so 00:01:21.25\00:01:25.14 I guess it's that really wonderful motive to 00:01:25.17\00:01:27.81 follow and to enjoy cooking in kitchen. 00:01:27.84\00:01:30.05 Absolutely, 'cause everything we do is 00:01:30.08\00:01:31.22 for God, right? Yes. 00:01:31.25\00:01:32.37 Yes, you know I first met Monica at ASI this 00:01:32.40\00:01:35.78 past year in Louisville, Kentucky I believe 00:01:35.81\00:01:37.78 Yes. And she and her 00:01:37.81\00:01:39.29 husband had a booth fair with their Peaceful 00:01:39.32\00:01:41.18 Waters Bed & Breakfast and they had 00:01:41.21\00:01:42.50 a little brochure, and I first learned about that 00:01:42.53\00:01:45.08 we could go to a Bed and Breakfast and have 00:01:45.11\00:01:48.30 vegan cuisine and it looked really beautiful. 00:01:48.33\00:01:51.46 So, Monica I think that's a wonderful 00:01:51.49\00:01:52.73 ministry that you're doing there. 00:01:52.76\00:01:54.02 Oh thank you, we really enjoy it, my husband 00:01:54.05\00:01:55.82 and I really enjoy being there. 00:01:55.85\00:01:57.19 Yes, yes and people come and they to, you 00:01:57.22\00:02:00.20 cook for them and they get to eat there and, yes, 00:02:00.23\00:02:02.55 and they get to stay near the river, oh that's nice 00:02:02.58\00:02:06.17 and we've got like a Noah's Ark for the 00:02:06.20\00:02:07.55 children to play in, oh fun, so it's a nice time 00:02:07.58\00:02:10.47 for whole family, yes and for anyone. And 00:02:10.50\00:02:13.07 one thing I thought was real special before we 00:02:13.10\00:02:14.56 get cooking, I thought it was really neat that you 00:02:14.59\00:02:16.57 do not charge for Friday night. 00:02:16.60\00:02:18.04 Yeah, because we want them to see that the 00:02:18.07\00:02:20.03 Sabbath represents the freedom that Christ 00:02:20.06\00:02:22.55 gives us by grace, yes. And so we just require 00:02:22.58\00:02:25.90 them to be there for a couple days, right. 00:02:25.93\00:02:27.69 And it works out really well, we had a 00:02:27.72\00:02:30.11 wonderful blessing that way, that's neat and 00:02:30.14\00:02:31.79 then people can ask questions and you can 00:02:31.82\00:02:33.27 introduce them, yes, and you know 00:02:33.30\00:02:35.37 absolutely, that's neat, okay now we're 00:02:35.40\00:02:37.77 cooking with this white block here of tofu, I see 00:02:37.80\00:02:40.08 that, yes and I think what we'll do to begin 00:02:40.11\00:02:42.27 with is to mash it, good. Let's read our recipe 00:02:42.30\00:02:44.47 first. For the Spanish tofu recipe the 00:02:44.50\00:02:48.14 ingredients that you need are one pound of 00:02:48.17\00:02:51.70 crumbled tofu 1 tsp. dried garlic 00:02:51.73\00:02:55.51 1/4 cup water ½ tsp. sea salt 00:02:55.54\00:03:01.00 1 tsp. garlic salt ½ tsp. oregano 00:03:01.03\00:03:05.94 1 tbsp. dried onion 1 tbsp dried chives 00:03:05.97\00:03:11.96 1 ½ tbsp. olive oil 2 medium tomatoes, 00:03:11.99\00:03:17.14 Chopped ½ red pepper, chopped 00:03:17.17\00:03:20.41 and 1 tbsp. dried parsley. Okay, let's start. Now 00:03:20.44\00:03:25.78 we have this tofu here, we're supposed to mash. 00:03:25.81\00:03:28.08 Yes, and we'll mash it up really nice. Now 00:03:28.11\00:03:30.66 where can our friends at home find this tofu? 00:03:30.69\00:03:32.49 Well tofu, you can pretty well get in those 00:03:32.52\00:03:34.27 food market stores, okay, and health stores 00:03:34.30\00:03:38.48 and I think almost anywhere now. You can 00:03:38.51\00:03:40.36 find it, right, you can absolutely, yeah, that's 00:03:40.39\00:03:43.14 right and tofu has no flavor, right? No it 00:03:43.17\00:03:47.37 doesn't have any flavor unless you really season 00:03:47.40\00:03:49.51 it, yes, and it's nice to have different kinds of 00:03:49.54\00:03:52.83 recipes to do, yes, with the scrambled tofu, 00:03:52.86\00:03:55.78 absolutely, now we're doing the Spanish one 00:03:55.81\00:03:58.41 today, yeah that's pretty nice to try other flavors 00:03:58.44\00:04:01.77 other than what we're used to having, yes I 00:04:01.80\00:04:03.44 like that, that's real nice. Yeah, we're going kind 00:04:03.47\00:04:06.11 of ethnic here, yes, okay, is that good 00:04:06.14\00:04:08.67 enough, looks good, okay, we're gonna go 00:04:08.70\00:04:10.83 ahead and put that in there. There we go, we 00:04:10.86\00:04:14.64 got it hot already, yeah, we sure do, I'm gonna 00:04:14.67\00:04:17.16 add a quarter cup of water to get it to cook, 00:04:17.19\00:04:20.30 otherwise it would burn, yes, and we don't 00:04:20.33\00:04:23.35 want burned tofu. No, that would not be too 00:04:23.38\00:04:25.69 nice. Okay, well let's start with some 00:04:25.72\00:04:27.94 Oregano, oregano, here you go, okay and some 00:04:27.97\00:04:33.26 basal alright that's parsley no oregano, 00:04:33.29\00:04:37.36 we'll have some dried chives, okay, yes, there 00:04:37.39\00:04:39.57 we go, try some garlic powder and garlic salt, 00:04:39.60\00:04:44.94 onion powder, good, and then you can do 00:04:44.97\00:04:49.20 dried onion pieces or onion powder even 00:04:49.23\00:04:51.48 works, you can do either one and you just 00:04:51.51\00:04:53.33 do a little bit less when you do the powder, 00:04:53.36\00:04:55.06 okay, yes alright so some people may have 00:04:55.09\00:04:58.09 a problem with onion flakes but you can use 00:04:58.12\00:04:59.86 onion powders instead, yes absolutely, okay 00:04:59.89\00:05:01.94 and a little bit of salt here, okay alright, I'm 00:05:01.97\00:05:04.88 gonna make it stick there on the bottom, 00:05:04.91\00:05:06.34 yes let's stir that really nice, it's really good to 00:05:06.37\00:05:09.36 take the scrambled tofu and just let it cook up 00:05:09.39\00:05:11.52 and let the seasonings blend with each other 00:05:11.55\00:05:13.99 but what's really nice and it's something that 00:05:14.02\00:05:16.53 I've learned to do is that in the center, once I've 00:05:16.56\00:05:19.27 cooked this a little bit is to add the olive oil in 00:05:19.30\00:05:22.05 the center of this and moving all the tofu 00:05:22.08\00:05:24.58 around away from it and I'll let that cook up 00:05:24.61\00:05:27.75 a little bit and that's when I add my tomato 00:05:27.78\00:05:29.72 and red pepper, oh that's smart, I like that, 00:05:29.75\00:05:33.51 it allows that to cook up really nice and it gives a 00:05:33.54\00:05:36.49 nice flavor to it, yes, because you only want 00:05:36.52\00:05:39.50 a nice recipe, a tasty recipe, oh yeah, 00:05:39.53\00:05:41.95 absolutely, do you know when we have the 00:05:41.98\00:05:43.66 Bed and Breakfast and we have people come 00:05:43.69\00:05:44.90 in, we want to make sure that food is tasting 00:05:44.93\00:05:47.04 good and encourage you know so we can 00:05:47.07\00:05:49.39 honor God. And so what are we're trying to 00:05:49.42\00:05:51.40 do is we let it cook thorough yes, and mix it 00:05:51.43\00:05:54.76 up really well, very nice, and at the very 00:05:54.79\00:05:57.28 end we try to put some parsley on top of that, 00:05:57.31\00:06:00.11 yes, now, and let's let it cook just a few seconds 00:06:00.14\00:06:03.17 here, that's nice, now how would you cook it, 00:06:03.20\00:06:05.57 till the peppers are crisp tender or? 00:06:05.60\00:06:07.37 No, well some people like them cooked really 00:06:07.40\00:06:09.48 well, okay, but I like them just a little bit, I 00:06:09.51\00:06:11.91 like that too, and it gives that little extra but 00:06:11.94\00:06:14.00 that's a preference that you have, absolutely, 00:06:14.03\00:06:16.68 which you like and so at the very end it's very 00:06:16.71\00:06:19.49 important that you do it at the end the tomatoes 00:06:19.52\00:06:21.70 and peppers because otherwise they get very 00:06:21.73\00:06:23.77 soggy and it doesn't allow the other 00:06:23.80\00:06:25.31 seasoning to blend real well so that kind of a 00:06:25.34\00:06:27.62 secret that makes sense. Yes, and then at the 00:06:27.65\00:06:29.93 very end after you've cooked it for maybe 10, 00:06:29.96\00:06:31.97 15 minutes, okay you would add some parsley 00:06:32.00\00:06:34.26 to that, yes, yes, okay and we're going to add 00:06:34.29\00:06:36.92 some parsley and it's a very colorful and 00:06:36.95\00:06:40.49 appetizing, it is very nice, we want also the 00:06:40.52\00:06:42.87 plate to look very, something you want to 00:06:42.90\00:06:45.43 try and this is a kind of recipe that gives it a 00:06:45.46\00:06:48.10 oomph to it, yeah, you know sometimes I like 00:06:48.13\00:06:50.13 a very lighter flavored tofu but this is a nice 00:06:50.16\00:06:53.57 thing, yeah it has a good zing to it and it 00:06:53.60\00:06:56.18 allows you to have something really 00:06:56.21\00:06:57.98 special. I like that, yeah, yeah, alright, now do 00:06:58.01\00:07:00.66 you serve breakfast or all meals at your 00:07:00.69\00:07:02.37 breakfast, we do breakfast and when 00:07:02.40\00:07:04.23 requested we do other meals as well and 00:07:04.26\00:07:07.02 something we really like to do is special 00:07:07.05\00:07:09.56 dinners for people in front of the fire place, 00:07:09.59\00:07:12.81 oh you got a fire place there, yes, I'm gonna go 00:07:12.84\00:07:14.62 to this place that sounds really nice and so we 00:07:14.65\00:07:16.14 put little tables out in front of the fire place 00:07:16.17\00:07:18.01 extra and so let people, husband and wife or if 00:07:18.04\00:07:20.70 it's a family we do it in the kitchen, okay, and 00:07:20.73\00:07:22.66 we have a special evening for them, we 00:07:22.69\00:07:24.29 put a little dinner about there so, oh cute, so you 00:07:24.32\00:07:27.37 know so we don't interrupt them because 00:07:27.40\00:07:28.37 many times we like to talk to them, absolutely, 00:07:28.40\00:07:30.70 as they have little bell too, yes only when they 00:07:30.73\00:07:32.65 ring it do we come in, or otherwise have some 00:07:32.68\00:07:35.46 quite time, that's nice, yeah because we all 00:07:35.49\00:07:37.19 need that, yeah you know just time to get 00:07:37.22\00:07:39.07 away, time to refresh even God said that you 00:07:39.10\00:07:41.99 know when Jesus was on this earth kindly 00:07:42.02\00:07:43.63 apart and rest a while so, but it is fun talking 00:07:43.66\00:07:46.77 to them, it really is, yes, really enjoy talking to 00:07:46.80\00:07:49.43 the people as well, okay that looks good, would 00:07:49.46\00:07:51.38 you like to put that in the dish, sure let's do 00:07:51.41\00:07:53.13 that. Are you okay then? 00:07:53.16\00:07:56.53 Yeah, it's quite colorful, isn't it? 00:07:56.56\00:08:00.59 Oh it is. There we go oh yeah it looks because 00:08:00.62\00:08:04.82 you eat with your eyes so if it looks pretty then 00:08:04.85\00:08:06.75 you want to eat it. Good, now we will 00:10:31.04\00:10:36.02 blend it again, okay, want to make sure that 00:10:36.05\00:10:40.24 tops in there, yeah absolutely, okay, 00:10:40.27\00:10:42.43 oops, it looks like we need a little bit more 00:10:46.83\00:10:49.98 water yeah let's add some water here, yes, 00:10:50.01\00:10:52.91 it's getting kind of thick, so if this happens 00:10:52.94\00:10:54.95 at home you just add some water and that's 00:10:54.98\00:10:56.54 okay, yeah because sometimes the bananas 00:10:56.57\00:10:57.74 are a little larger than other bananas so, is that 00:10:57.77\00:11:00.19 good or? Yeah that's good, okay. 00:11:00.22\00:11:02.18 There we go, we'll try this again, okay let me 00:11:02.21\00:11:11.18 just turn this up, here we go, okay. 00:11:11.21\00:11:18.75 Okay. Now, if you're at home would you blend 00:11:33.27\00:11:34.86 it longer? I would blend it longer 00:11:34.89\00:11:36.80 and maybe add a little bit more water, okay, 00:11:36.83\00:11:38.92 only because it comes like a pancake mixture 00:11:38.95\00:11:41.33 just enough to coat the bread, okay, you want 00:11:41.36\00:11:44.44 me to add more water or we okay for now, oh 00:11:44.47\00:11:46.66 I think we're okay, oh yeah let me see if I can 00:11:46.69\00:11:51.28 get this out, it smells really good I like it with 00:11:51.31\00:11:55.26 banana in there Monica, yeah I do too, now did 00:11:55.29\00:11:57.94 you dream up this recipe, come up this 00:11:57.97\00:11:59.65 recipe, now this is one of the ones we adopted, 00:11:59.68\00:12:01.84 many of the recipes are new recipes but some of 00:12:01.87\00:12:04.30 them are adopted recipes and this is one 00:12:04.33\00:12:06.15 of them, nice, yeah it's very nice yes, okay now 00:12:06.18\00:12:09.05 what do we do? What are we gonna do 00:12:09.08\00:12:10.37 is we're gonna take our couple pieces of bread 00:12:10.40\00:12:13.11 and we're just gonna dip it in there, oh it's nice, 00:12:13.14\00:12:16.29 it's nice to have a nice coating of it. So you 00:12:16.32\00:12:18.28 really can taste the bananas and the dates, 00:12:18.31\00:12:20.37 that's right and we are gonna put it into the 00:12:20.40\00:12:21.82 griddle here, okay, and this is very special, they 00:12:21.85\00:12:27.03 really like this kind of a French Toast because 00:12:27.06\00:12:29.97 there are many kind of recipes of French toast, 00:12:30.00\00:12:32.05 yes, and this is a very nice one, especially for 00:12:32.08\00:12:35.53 the people who like it a little sweeter that's right 00:12:35.56\00:12:37.84 nice yes I like anything sweet, yes and you 00:12:37.87\00:12:40.86 could scrambled tofu to it, you could put maple 00:12:40.89\00:12:43.99 syrup on top if you like, apple sauce you can put 00:12:44.02\00:12:46.99 jam, there are so many ways you can do this 00:12:47.02\00:12:50.45 yeah, yeah good, now how long would it cook 00:12:50.48\00:12:53.54 on each side, it will take about seven to eight 00:12:53.57\00:12:56.02 minutes on either side, it does take a while 00:12:56.05\00:12:58.37 because of the banana in it, right and so 00:12:58.40\00:13:00.67 therefore you want to make sure you get it 00:13:00.70\00:13:02.25 cooked. Yeah and it gets nice and brown on 00:13:02.28\00:13:04.26 both sides okay and yeah, because it was 00:13:04.29\00:13:06.55 done, so if you had a big griddle it would 00:13:06.58\00:13:08.40 save time, oh yes, yes I have a nice long griddle 00:13:08.43\00:13:11.54 and it works out well and then you could 00:13:11.57\00:13:12.97 make some ahead of time and freeze it, oh 00:13:13.00\00:13:14.74 that's nice and just warm it up real quick, 00:13:14.77\00:13:16.69 yeah good, okay. What are we making next? 00:13:16.72\00:13:18.87 We are making waffles, oh fun. Let's read our 00:13:18.90\00:13:21.71 recipe for the waffles. For the tasty waffles 00:13:21.74\00:13:25.32 you need, 1/4 to ½ c. pecans 00:13:25.35\00:13:28.07 2 tbsp. hulled sesame seeds 1 c. soy milk 00:13:28.10\00:13:32.94 2tbsp. corn flour 1 ½ c. water 00:13:32.97\00:13:37.68 3 1/4 tsp. sea salt 2 c. rolled oats 00:13:37.71\00:13:42.95 2 tsp. vanilla 2 tbsp of honey. 00:13:42.98\00:13:48.00 But this looks really nice and easy Monica, I 00:13:48.03\00:13:52.07 like that. Yeah simple recipes but still tastes 00:13:52.10\00:13:54.87 good are really good, that's right, absolutely, 00:13:54.90\00:13:57.65 because we don't have, that's special, it's right, 00:13:57.68\00:14:01.16 they really are special for special occasions 00:14:01.19\00:14:03.84 and you know as it really shows a lot of 00:14:03.87\00:14:06.52 love sometimes to be able to take that extra 00:14:06.55\00:14:07.97 time, that's right, absolutely I think so, 00:14:08.00\00:14:10.08 definitely and to me it's so easy too, you just 00:14:10.11\00:14:12.76 make it you stick it in the freezer and you are 00:14:12.79\00:14:14.38 all set with that, yes and keeps it's flavor and 00:14:14.41\00:14:16.54 keeps it, it's very nice, yes, yes I got to run 00:14:16.57\00:14:19.05 blender again you guys here, okay, so what are 00:14:19.08\00:14:21.82 we gonna do first, we are gonna start with 00:14:21.85\00:14:22.82 pecans, put the pecans in, yeah now if you 00:14:22.83\00:14:26.22 don't have pecans can you use another type of 00:14:26.25\00:14:27.85 nuts or not? Yes, you can you can use 00:14:27.88\00:14:29.22 almonds and we've tried almonds with these 00:14:29.25\00:14:31.84 walnuts but here is different ones, but it 00:14:31.87\00:14:34.20 depends what flavor you want, walnuts are 00:14:34.23\00:14:35.74 stronger so you can get a little bit stronger 00:14:35.77\00:14:37.21 flavor, yes and that could be good and it 00:14:37.24\00:14:39.22 may not right, depending on what you 00:14:39.25\00:14:40.71 like, okay we're gonna add some water to get it 00:14:40.74\00:14:42.73 nice and smooth, I'll just add a little bit here, 00:14:42.76\00:14:46.94 there we go. Alright, that way we just blend 00:14:46.97\00:14:52.54 the nut so it's a same principle we did with 00:14:52.57\00:14:54.20 the French Tofu, we put the water and the 00:14:54.23\00:14:56.98 cashews together, yes they get really nice and 00:14:57.01\00:14:58.79 smooth because if you add too much water 00:14:58.82\00:15:00.43 they don't. Yes, absolutely, okay, we're 00:15:00.46\00:15:03.20 gonna make some noise here. 00:15:03.23\00:15:04.20 Okay that's a good stop, alright we're 00:15:16.68\00:15:20.11 gonna add some more, little bit more water, 00:15:20.14\00:15:22.52 okay and we're gonna add that cup of soy 00:15:22.55\00:15:27.33 milk, alright, which is good and it will give a 00:15:27.36\00:15:30.32 lot more nutrition to it, yes absolutely okay, we 00:15:30.35\00:15:33.72 are gonna add the rolled oats, the oats these are 00:15:33.75\00:15:37.08 like your old fashion rolled oats, yes, yes, 00:15:37.11\00:15:39.54 okay it gives a nice texture to the waffle, it 00:15:39.57\00:15:42.59 helps that waffle to be nice and fluffy, yes, 00:15:42.62\00:15:45.83 that's what we want, absolutely, alright, 00:15:45.86\00:15:47.41 okay, now we are gonna add some sesame seeds 00:15:47.44\00:15:49.30 to it, now where can we find sesame seeds, well 00:15:49.33\00:15:51.73 I guess sesame seeds you could get in a 00:15:51.76\00:15:53.48 regular food store as well, or specially in a 00:15:53.51\00:15:56.00 co-op or a food co-op or a health food store, yes, 00:15:56.03\00:15:58.73 but you can get them in a regular store, yes, it's 00:15:58.76\00:16:00.65 nice to be able to get most things in our 00:16:00.68\00:16:01.94 regular food store when you go shopping, 00:16:01.97\00:16:03.40 absolutely so, alright, okay we've got some 00:16:03.43\00:16:06.72 corn flour, yeah and some sea salts and 00:16:06.75\00:16:11.05 vanilla, vanilla always gives that little extra 00:16:11.08\00:16:13.73 taste to that, a nice little sweetener, I like that 00:16:13.76\00:16:16.12 too, and we got some honey and I would 00:16:16.15\00:16:18.85 imagine you could substitute that honey for 00:16:18.88\00:16:20.91 other sweeteners if you chose, yes if you had a 00:16:20.94\00:16:22.94 problem with honey, yes, right, do some 00:16:22.97\00:16:24.83 people have a problem with honey? Yeah, 00:16:24.86\00:16:26.22 some people can't actually use honey and 00:16:26.25\00:16:28.14 what we would do is we would use fresh fruit in 00:16:28.17\00:16:30.30 there, we may use like a half banana or a apple 00:16:30.33\00:16:33.04 depending what taste you want because some 00:16:33.07\00:16:34.98 really can't have honey especially those who 00:16:35.01\00:16:37.17 are diabetic, yes, right, because it's too much 00:16:37.20\00:16:40.68 sweetener, yes, and so this gives a nice flavor 00:16:40.71\00:16:43.80 for them too, they are able to have waffles, 00:16:43.83\00:16:46.16 yeah it looks good, we'll blend this here, I'll 00:16:46.19\00:16:47.61 see I don't know if I need more water, we'll see 00:16:47.64\00:16:49.88 okay, I want to make sure that you're blending 00:16:49.91\00:17:15.27 it really, really well and of course it's gonna take 00:17:15.30\00:17:17.72 longer than what we have time for today, yes 00:17:17.75\00:17:20.17 but one of the secrets here is because we use 00:17:20.20\00:17:22.06 rolled oats, when you let this set for few 00:17:22.09\00:17:24.09 minutes, it gets nice and thick and so that's kind 00:17:24.12\00:17:27.22 of what you want to do but for today for the 00:17:27.25\00:17:29.14 purpose of today of course we don't have 00:17:29.17\00:17:30.60 the time, if I can get the lid off, yes, sometimes 00:17:30.63\00:17:34.24 it has a suction on it and we get it out, yeah, 00:17:34.27\00:17:37.46 there we go. Good, thank you, and I got a 00:17:37.49\00:17:39.84 waffle iron here you can use all different 00:17:39.87\00:17:41.53 kinds of waffle irons, okay and of course 00:17:41.56\00:17:44.35 when you're using this kind of recipe, it takes 00:17:44.38\00:17:46.23 longer than your regular waffle, so remember if 00:17:46.26\00:17:48.87 you have one that beeps, it's not always 00:17:48.90\00:17:51.02 ready when it beeps, it may take a little longer 00:17:51.05\00:17:53.22 than it does, okay and this waffle iron that we 00:17:53.25\00:17:55.25 have here, what we are gonna do is just fill it 00:17:55.28\00:17:58.24 up and of course remember you want to 00:17:58.27\00:18:00.44 let it set a little bit to get thicker yes, and you let 00:18:00.47\00:18:05.29 it set maybe 10, 15 minutes. I think 5 or 10 00:18:05.32\00:18:07.91 minutes, not too long, okay and let the oats 00:18:07.94\00:18:10.86 soak up the liquid so it gets thicker and let's say 00:18:10.89\00:18:13.55 it does get thicker then you want to make sure 00:18:13.58\00:18:16.29 that you add little more water to it, yes, and it 00:18:16.32\00:18:19.60 looks like a pancake mix and you just want 00:18:19.63\00:18:22.01 to put enough in here so it doesn't over flow and 00:18:22.04\00:18:24.04 go everywhere else, let's see how well they 00:18:24.07\00:18:26.13 get stirred up and I have just put it down, and 00:18:26.16\00:18:29.10 makes a wonderful waffle, yes, would it 00:18:29.13\00:18:31.24 bake for maybe 7 minutes, I anywhere 00:18:31.27\00:18:33.95 between 7 and 10 minutes it takes to get a 00:18:33.98\00:18:36.95 waffle, one waffle done, so sometimes its nice to 00:18:36.98\00:18:39.27 have a bigger waffle iron so you can do more 00:18:39.30\00:18:41.03 than one at a time, but these are cute though I 00:18:41.06\00:18:43.43 like that Monica, it's very cute. We can get 00:18:43.46\00:18:45.11 little heart waffles, oh that's nice, if we are at 00:18:45.14\00:18:48.01 the Bed and Breakfast we would do heart 00:18:48.04\00:18:49.43 waffles, yes, yes, and put little dab of tofu 00:18:49.46\00:18:51.35 with cream on it. Oh yeah, you could put 00:18:51.38\00:18:52.81 fresh fruit on top and of course we're going to 00:18:52.84\00:18:55.46 have another recipe coming that's very 00:18:55.49\00:18:57.33 different as a topping, yes, so and you would 00:18:57.36\00:19:00.29 put that on your waffles or the fresh toast that 00:19:00.32\00:19:02.10 we made too, yes, yes, that would work too, 00:19:02.13\00:19:03.95 very much so, right, okay, good, let's read 00:19:03.98\00:19:06.27 that recipe for our special topping with the 00:19:06.30\00:19:08.27 coconut topping. For the cream of coconut 00:19:08.30\00:19:12.47 and millet topping, you want that recipe for us, 00:19:12.50\00:19:15.51 okay, it's one cup hot cooked millet. 00:19:15.54\00:19:18.47 1/4 cup cashews 1/4 cup coconut milk 00:19:18.50\00:19:23.15 1/4 cup maple syrup 1 tsp. vanilla 00:19:23.18\00:19:27.80 And a 1/4 tsp of sea salt. You know Monica my 00:19:27.83\00:19:32.90 husband would love this recipe, would he? He 00:19:32.93\00:19:35.32 likes any kind of like topping for waffles or 00:19:35.35\00:19:37.93 French toast or pancakes or anything 00:19:37.96\00:19:39.35 like that fruit sauce, apple sauce, so he 00:19:39.38\00:19:41.44 would really like this, well this is a nice recipe 00:19:41.47\00:19:44.10 it gives another different kind of 00:19:44.13\00:19:45.86 topping that we can put in, it's creamy and it's 00:19:45.89\00:19:48.44 got the mill and honey in that, it's a very nice 00:19:48.47\00:19:50.54 recipe to put on and you can add fruit as well. 00:19:50.57\00:19:53.19 But before we start with this recipe we want to 00:19:53.22\00:19:56.56 talk about the millet and it's the seed that the 00:19:56.59\00:20:01.27 birds love, causes them to sing. It's very healthy 00:20:01.30\00:20:04.69 for them, yeah it's just our bird food, yes but 00:20:04.72\00:20:07.51 normally when you cook a millet let's say 00:20:07.54\00:20:10.09 for a cereal, I cook cereal for the morning, 00:20:10.12\00:20:13.51 you would use four cups water to one cup 00:20:13.54\00:20:16.57 millet, okay and maybe like a half a teaspoon of 00:20:16.60\00:20:18.95 sea salt, okay so that's I'm trying to think here, 00:20:18.98\00:20:21.06 just four cups four to one, four to one that's 00:20:21.09\00:20:23.04 pretty easy, okay and you cook it for about an 00:20:23.07\00:20:24.63 hour, okay but when you're making like or 00:20:24.66\00:20:27.42 pudding or something like that, you would cut 00:20:27.45\00:20:29.55 one cup less, you would just do three cups of 00:20:29.58\00:20:32.91 water and half a teaspoon of salt and one 00:20:32.94\00:20:35.78 cup millet because you know why? Drier is that 00:20:35.81\00:20:38.28 point? Well, it allows to absorb these ingredients 00:20:38.31\00:20:41.88 into it and it gives that little extra creamy taste, 00:20:41.91\00:20:44.80 yeah, that sounds like good, and it brings that 00:20:44.83\00:20:45.91 flavor out really well, yes, absolutely so now 00:20:45.94\00:20:48.96 do we need to wash our millet, is it important, 00:20:48.99\00:20:50.74 well millet is really vimportant and this is 00:20:50.77\00:20:52.99 something I have done often I had not washed 00:20:53.02\00:20:55.52 and of course someone took me aside and we 00:20:55.55\00:20:57.87 washed it and boy there was a lot of gray water 00:20:57.90\00:21:00.42 in there, oh that doesn't sound too good, and so 00:21:00.45\00:21:02.18 unless you've got pre washed millet I would 00:21:02.21\00:21:04.56 suggest you know taking aside and 00:21:04.59\00:21:06.50 washing it under the tap and make sure you get 00:21:06.53\00:21:08.52 everything out there.
