Well I carried unusual things in 00:01:11.18\00:01:12.98 my suitcase, that's neat, tell our friends at home, 00:01:13.01\00:01:16.84 just a little bit about your ministry, 00:01:16.87\00:01:18.80 before we get going cooking breakfast ideas, 00:01:18.83\00:01:20.85 you have a ministry called Feed The Flock, 00:01:20.88\00:01:23.00 what is that, what's that all about? 00:01:23.03\00:01:24.39 Well I, it's kind of a strange title, 00:01:24.42\00:01:27.64 I think people who have never raised sheep, 00:01:27.67\00:01:30.01 but I've raised sheep for about 20 years. 00:01:30.04\00:01:32.11 Fun, you have a farm. I have had a farm 00:01:32.14\00:01:35.73 but we are kind of retired from it now. 00:01:35.76\00:01:37.69 Yes, but in the context of it many years before that, 00:01:37.72\00:01:40.86 I heard the lord speak to me one morning, 00:01:40.89\00:01:43.71 when I was in the shower and I was a kind 00:01:43.74\00:01:46.21 of drippy with soap and water and I heard this 00:01:46.24\00:01:49.12 voice in my thoughts in regards to Bev do you 00:01:49.15\00:01:53.35 love me? I said yes Lord I love you, 00:01:53.38\00:01:56.03 than feed my sheep. What Jesus asked Peter? 00:01:56.06\00:02:00.11 That's exactly, what it was, it was that scripture 00:02:00.14\00:02:02.35 text being repeated in my mind and as I got out 00:02:02.38\00:02:05.04 of the shower that morning, I thought God I know you 00:02:05.07\00:02:06.92 are talking to me and I thought O God, 00:02:06.95\00:02:09.40 what does this mean, I don't know what this means, 00:02:09.43\00:02:11.23 yes because I fed people forever, yes. 00:02:11.26\00:02:13.92 You know I was already doing this, 00:02:13.95\00:02:14.94 you always like to cook. It wasn't like a new, 00:02:14.97\00:02:17.72 right, vision for me. It was my old vision 00:02:17.75\00:02:21.97 probably reestablish in a new way, 00:02:22.00\00:02:25.42 absolutely, absolutely, and than I was asked to 00:02:25.45\00:02:27.49 work in a vegetarian restaurant, yes, 00:02:27.52\00:02:30.22 And in that context I felt I had answered the call 00:02:30.25\00:02:33.07 to God's previous asking me to feed the sheep. 00:02:33.10\00:02:36.27 And you serve breakfast for these people 00:02:36.30\00:02:38.67 and lunch yes, yes. Six days a week that's a lot. 00:02:38.70\00:02:41.71 Well I actually didn't started with six, 00:02:41.74\00:02:43.10 started with five, started with the five 00:02:43.13\00:02:44.94 and then we added the Sunday Brunch, 00:02:44.97\00:02:46.45 which was the killer, my husband said can't do 00:02:46.48\00:02:49.23 this any more. It's not appropriate, 00:02:49.26\00:02:51.71 but that's a lot, six days a week, absolutely. 00:02:51.74\00:02:54.58 Yeah it was too much and I was much younger 00:02:54.61\00:02:56.63 then but the idea was it was even too much 00:02:56.66\00:02:58.88 for younger person, right, but it's time when I 00:02:58.91\00:03:01.54 got to do catering and a lot of fun things 00:03:01.57\00:03:03.25 with foods and of course, it is always the church 00:03:03.28\00:03:05.20 part luck to play, that's right, yeah that's a 00:03:05.23\00:03:07.55 fun place, that's exciting. Well, Bev has a real talent 00:03:07.58\00:03:10.33 for decorating too, we've worked a little bit together 00:03:10.36\00:03:12.79 and so need the stuff that she puts together, 00:03:12.82\00:03:14.72 I mean it looks fantastic, so I am really excited 00:03:14.75\00:03:17.09 about today's program. Well actually presentation 00:03:17.12\00:03:19.17 is probably one of the most important things, 00:03:19.20\00:03:21.39 I think if you doing a lifestyle change, yes. 00:03:21.42\00:03:23.39 Lifestyle change I think for people, 00:03:23.42\00:03:24.93 who have eaten foods that are not appropriate 00:03:24.96\00:03:28.71 possibly for their health. It's so fun to take those 00:03:28.74\00:03:31.96 same things and create the new things 00:03:31.99\00:03:33.75 and that's what we've done for Breakfast. 00:03:33.78\00:03:35.05 Good, now we are making breakfast ideas, 00:03:35.08\00:03:36.68 what are we making first today for our friends 00:03:36.71\00:03:38.38 at home. Well we are gonna to do a Banana split, 00:03:38.41\00:03:40.01 yummy I love Banana split. Let's read the ingredient 00:03:40.04\00:03:42.54 for that Banana split. For Bev's 00:03:42.57\00:03:45.21 Breakfast Banana Split, you need 00:03:45.24\00:03:46.88 one cup of oatmeal, 2 cups water, 2 bananas, 00:03:46.91\00:03:51.54 1 cup blueberries, 1 cup strawberries sliced, 00:03:51.57\00:03:55.22 1 apple cubed. You also need one can 00:03:55.25\00:03:58.58 non-dairy whip cream, one half cup walnuts, 00:03:58.61\00:04:01.43 pecans or cashews, fruit syrup or honey, 00:04:01.46\00:04:04.49 warmed and carob chips. This is awesome because 00:04:04.52\00:04:08.66 I love banana splits, but this like healthy way 00:04:08.69\00:04:11.94 to a banana split. Yeah I used to be the 00:04:11.97\00:04:13.14 banana split queen at home and School, 00:04:13.17\00:04:15.61 you know I had this little boot in the gymnasium 00:04:15.64\00:04:18.06 and they run around and landed my boot 00:04:18.09\00:04:20.38 and they were wonderful Banana splits, yes. 00:04:20.41\00:04:22.92 And I ate as many as I sold probably 00:04:22.95\00:04:25.12 and it was wonderful, but when I became more 00:04:25.15\00:04:28.32 interested in healthful living, right, 00:04:28.35\00:04:30.12 I decided that probably that was the not the lifestyle 00:04:30.15\00:04:32.44 I wanted to continue, right, because in my family 00:04:32.47\00:04:34.75 three people died of things of heart attacks 00:04:34.78\00:04:38.70 and things like that early in their life 00:04:38.73\00:04:42.44 and my parents bless their precious hearts, 00:04:42.47\00:04:45.51 they chose different lifestyle, experiences 00:04:45.54\00:04:48.87 in their life and my dad lived to be 91 00:04:48.90\00:04:51.03 and my mother left to be 90's, fantastic. 00:04:51.06\00:04:53.44 And so I think that was probably was the impetus 00:04:53.47\00:04:58.04 for me to change, because I knew I was destined 00:04:58.07\00:05:01.34 and when you see it worked to me that makes 00:05:01.37\00:05:03.20 a difference when you actually see it works. 00:05:03.23\00:05:04.51 So we are taking the Banana here and cutting 00:05:04.54\00:05:06.22 it in half, right? Yes and you know lot of us 00:05:06.25\00:05:08.07 don't banana split boats in fact I did have 00:05:08.10\00:05:11.58 them before we moved from the farm 00:05:11.61\00:05:13.53 and I gave them to some relative, 00:05:13.56\00:05:15.44 whom I cant remember, okay. 00:05:15.47\00:05:17.36 So, fruit stores is a really good place to get 00:05:17.39\00:05:19.39 little something, this is not a banana split boat, 00:05:19.42\00:05:21.29 but it works, oh yeah it's very quite. 00:05:21.32\00:05:23.19 So, if you don't have what you are hunting 00:05:23.22\00:05:24.19 for the fifth store, I recommend that, 00:05:24.20\00:05:27.06 that's good, so wonderful thing, okay. 00:05:27.09\00:05:29.58 You do need an ice cream scoop and it's important 00:05:29.61\00:05:31.56 to have that just because of the visual, yes. 00:05:31.59\00:05:34.30 Now this is our cooked oatmeal, 00:05:34.33\00:05:35.66 this is our cooked oatmeal, okay and anybody 00:05:35.69\00:05:38.86 knows how do that I don't have to 00:05:38.89\00:05:39.93 give them directions for that. 00:05:39.96\00:05:41.23 Do you know what I like about this so Bev, 00:05:41.26\00:05:42.96 because I am not a real fundable real person, 00:05:42.99\00:05:44.87 but this is a good way to get oatmeal 00:05:44.90\00:05:46.09 and enjoy it. Well you know what you can mix 00:05:46.12\00:05:47.88 other grains with this and do the same thing 00:05:47.91\00:05:49.41 it would not have not to be oatmeal. 00:05:49.44\00:05:50.79 Oatmeal is just here because it's real easy to do. 00:05:50.82\00:05:54.22 Absolutely, and it's hold together. 00:05:54.25\00:05:56.27 And it's smooches together and I believe every 00:05:56.30\00:05:58.57 cook needs to have sizes of ice cream scoops, 00:05:58.60\00:06:01.18 one for what ever you doing ice cream 00:06:01.21\00:06:04.80 and the other one the smaller one for a 00:06:04.83\00:06:06.68 meatballs cookies or whatever and it's 00:06:06.71\00:06:08.61 really important to do, absolutely, here we go. 00:06:08.64\00:06:11.08 I think that that obviously is a large amount. 00:06:11.11\00:06:14.95 I think I can eat it. This is a goodly amount 00:06:14.98\00:06:18.69 and I think it's just fun to a drizzle, 00:06:18.72\00:06:21.30 well actually we need to just do a little tiny 00:06:21.33\00:06:23.83 chopping here, okay. And just obviously 00:06:23.86\00:06:27.30 if you are doing this ahead of time that all 00:06:27.33\00:06:28.93 you need to put lemons, lemon juice on your apples, 00:06:28.96\00:06:31.46 yes, because they will have a tendency 00:06:31.49\00:06:33.30 to just feel needy of the lemon juice. 00:06:33.33\00:06:36.91 They are gonna turn brown, they are gonna turn brown, 00:06:36.94\00:06:38.87 absolutely and avocados too I think it's important 00:06:38.90\00:06:42.13 that we remember these little tricks, yes. 00:06:42.16\00:06:45.09 So, this is just a little tiny cubing, 00:06:45.12\00:06:49.81 yeah and I am a person, who even in a bowl, 00:06:49.84\00:06:53.46 who like a normal bowl of oatmeal, 00:06:53.49\00:06:56.34 I always put these ingredients on my Oats, 00:06:56.37\00:07:00.18 yes, it's right. It's just too fun, oh yeah, 00:07:00.21\00:07:03.25 I like things crunchy in my mouth and soft at 00:07:03.28\00:07:06.52 the same time, okay, so this is that crunchy and soft. 00:07:06.55\00:07:08.93 Absolute you get the different textures, 00:07:08.96\00:07:10.65 I like that very much, very pretty. 00:07:10.68\00:07:13.64 I think I did this backwards; 00:07:13.67\00:07:14.70 I was going to put that in the middle. 00:07:14.73\00:07:16.12 Then we'll, hey if you don't get it in the middle, 00:07:16.15\00:07:19.01 then you put it on the side, okay. 00:07:19.04\00:07:20.52 I think cooking is a really interesting way to 00:07:20.55\00:07:23.26 help you to be learn to be flexible. 00:07:23.29\00:07:24.86 Yes that's right. If it doesn't workout, 00:07:24.89\00:07:27.90 anyway do it in a different way. 00:07:27.93\00:07:29.27 Yeah right, See put the blueberries in the middle. 00:07:29.30\00:07:31.05 I am doing that today, but normally I will separate 00:07:31.08\00:07:33.52 my two berries with, okay, with the... 00:07:33.55\00:07:36.57 The apples in the middle, then blueberries on 00:07:36.60\00:07:38.07 one side, and strawberries in other side, 00:07:38.10\00:07:39.37 right, you are right, yeah. 00:07:39.40\00:07:40.73 So, this is just so fun to be able to put it together, 00:07:40.76\00:07:45.13 and it uses all the fresh fruit of the season, 00:07:45.16\00:07:47.88 you do, that's right and the raisins could be cooked 00:07:47.91\00:07:55.72 within your cereals as you cook it and I do that 00:07:55.75\00:07:59.57 many times, I just kick the raisin directly in 00:07:59.60\00:08:01.78 and that just makes it just so nice and sweet 00:08:01.81\00:08:07.14 that oatmeal. This is like fill in a bread 00:08:07.17\00:08:09.48 or something so full that it's hard to eat it, 00:08:09.51\00:08:11.50 because it all falls out same thing isn't it? 00:08:11.53\00:08:13.26 Right, yeah. And it's okay, 00:08:13.29\00:08:16.58 if it drivels over the edge, because when you 00:08:16.61\00:08:18.37 presented to your spouse or your kids or whomever, 00:08:18.40\00:08:20.87 that's right, it's going to be wonderful. 00:08:20.90\00:08:23.02 Did we put for raisins? No, we didn't put raisins, 00:08:23.05\00:08:24.81 yeah let's get some raisins and then you used walnuts, 00:08:24.84\00:08:26.80 here but you can use pecans or anything. 00:08:26.83\00:08:28.28 Oh yes, in fact and for adding nuts, 00:08:28.31\00:08:30.28 fruits and grains, isn't that what we've been told 00:08:30.31\00:08:32.28 some places along the journey, yes. 00:08:32.31\00:08:33.97 That those are really good things for us, 00:08:34.00\00:08:35.41 that's righ and I really like to eat them in their 00:08:35.44\00:08:37.85 whole form, I know there is big fad for people, 00:08:37.88\00:08:39.87 who mix things up in a blender and dine that way, 00:08:39.90\00:08:42.63 yes, it's okay, I think it's okay but I like to 00:08:42.66\00:08:47.22 choose, yes, you know the lord gave me these teeth's 00:08:47.25\00:08:49.96 and what are they for? That's right. 00:08:49.99\00:08:52.66 Chewing, yeah, that's right, 00:08:52.69\00:08:54.71 so I just don't like to drink things. 00:08:54.74\00:08:56.02 So is this is a syrup or jam or what's this? 00:08:56.05\00:08:58.43 It's really jam, okay, it's fruit jam, 00:08:58.46\00:08:59.87 actually it's not in the recipe I don't believe 00:08:59.90\00:09:01.51 but it's something that's easy to do, 00:09:01.54\00:09:02.89 if you want some kind of a syrup just 00:09:02.92\00:09:04.50 buy a fruit jam as maybe fruit juice, 00:09:04.53\00:09:06.19 put little water and little lemon, okay, very nice, 00:09:06.22\00:09:10.14 pour some apple concentrated over that, 00:09:10.17\00:09:11.63 just to have a little drizzle, it would probably 00:09:11.66\00:09:13.76 drizzle better if it was hot. 00:09:13.79\00:09:15.08 Yea, but it still hooks pretty. 00:09:15.11\00:09:16.80 I mean I can see that nice reddish that's very nice. 00:09:16.83\00:09:19.19 And I thinking, normally I would have some kind 00:09:19.22\00:09:23.23 of cream in can that's non-dairy, yes. 00:09:23.26\00:09:25.46 But, we couldn't see locate that here, 00:09:25.49\00:09:28.43 okay and I couldn't bring them ever. 00:09:28.46\00:09:29.64 I wonder why? So, we are just going to do it, 00:09:29.67\00:09:33.22 just a little bit different. I hope you don't mind 00:09:33.25\00:09:35.61 if I use my fingers, alright, there you go. 00:09:35.64\00:09:37.44 I know you washed your hands. I did. 00:09:37.47\00:09:39.61 Oh very nice isn't that cute? 00:09:39.64\00:09:43.79 And actually it would be much more darling, 00:09:43.82\00:09:45.67 if we had been able to use it from the square cut can, 00:09:45.70\00:09:50.12 yeah. It is so darling to me, because it would squeeze 00:09:50.15\00:09:52.67 out and than if you really want to gill the lily, 00:09:52.70\00:09:54.74 yeah, you can do it. How cute. 00:09:54.77\00:09:58.22 And of course that looks wonderful and by the time 00:09:59.07\00:10:01.01 you get it to the table, you are going to have to 00:10:01.04\00:10:02.54 have a plate underneath, because it gonna start drip, 00:10:02.57\00:10:05.16 it is gong to drip, but there we... 00:10:05.19\00:10:08.25 Oh! that's beautiful, there we are with the all 00:10:08.28\00:10:09.63 the mess surrounded. Now what do you calling 00:10:19.71\00:10:22.32 Grandma's Awful Waffles. Well my mom invented 00:10:22.35\00:10:24.03 them for her health needs and in the process 00:10:24.06\00:10:27.17 we said there will so Awful that nobody would want 00:10:27.20\00:10:29.37 to eat them and actually they aren't awful at all 00:10:29.40\00:10:32.31 and actually we are going to even invent a little store 00:10:32.34\00:10:34.77 and sell Grandma's Awful Waffles, that was 00:10:34.80\00:10:36.17 going to be Grandma's Awful Waffles shop. 00:10:36.20\00:10:38.42 That's cute. That never turned into anything, 00:10:38.45\00:10:41.01 but I still do them. Yeah absolutely, 00:10:41.04\00:10:43.47 well let's read the recipe for the 00:10:43.50\00:10:44.97 Grandma's Awful Waffles. 00:10:45.00\00:10:46.48 Do you wanna read that for us Bev. 00:10:46.51\00:10:47.94 Oh Yes, yes, it is 2 and ½ cups of water, 00:10:47.97\00:10:51.34 2/3 cups rolled oats, 1/3 cup corn meal, 00:10:51.37\00:10:55.49 1/3 brown rice, 1 can of garbanzo beans, drained. 00:10:55.52\00:11:01.20 Well I don't think that's seems like such a 00:11:01.23\00:11:03.96 Awful things, do you think this ingredients does 00:11:03.99\00:11:06.47 the Awful things. They aren't Awful, 00:11:06.50\00:11:07.60 it just you know what it just had to do with, 00:11:07.63\00:11:11.64 I think it's cute, rhyming with waffle, 00:11:11.67\00:11:14.17 absolutely and we just put the silly, 00:11:14.20\00:11:16.22 silliness together, I mean our family is kind of silly 00:11:16.25\00:11:19.61 with words and we joke a lot, I think it's very cute. 00:11:19.64\00:11:22.81 And Grandma's Awful Waffles just really fit 00:11:22.84\00:11:24.45 and fine. It rhymes really good. 00:11:24.48\00:11:25.45 I think it's good. Let see how to make it. 00:11:25.46\00:11:27.24 Okay, well it's so simple, actually it is 00:11:27.27\00:11:28.82 kind of one of those dump things, 00:11:28.85\00:11:29.82 where you just throw things in the blender 00:11:29.83\00:11:31.10 and I am really not a blender cook, particularly, 00:11:31.13\00:11:34.40 okay. But I am doing it now. 00:11:34.43\00:11:36.90 Because you don't like run the blender or just... 00:11:36.93\00:11:40.31 No my basic cooking skills are not in a blender. 00:11:40.34\00:11:42.90 Oh I got you. I know lot of people use blenders 00:11:42.93\00:11:46.54 for cooking yes, and making juice, yes. 00:11:46.57\00:11:49.22 I am just kind of like out there saying Oops! 00:11:49.25\00:11:51.94 I don't want to do this. Right 00:11:51.97\00:11:53.91 And I know that I have forgotten something 00:11:53.94\00:11:56.69 right this very minute, but we will try. 00:11:56.72\00:11:59.70 Okay, Okay, Blend, 00:11:59.73\00:12:05.95 I have to see Elizabeth. 00:12:15.62\00:12:16.87 Well that's easy, it is strum all in together. 00:12:26.92\00:12:29.09 Yup, thrum all in together and you have to wait 00:12:29.12\00:12:31.92 a few minutes to let this set up. 00:12:31.95\00:12:34.37 Okay, and than well I want to show our friends, 00:12:34.40\00:12:37.30 this is a very quiet, this is awful. 00:12:37.33\00:12:39.30 And you know that, yeah you can show them. 00:12:39.33\00:12:41.33 Can I show them now? You can show. 00:12:41.36\00:12:42.75 It's so cute, look at this you guys, isn't that cute. 00:12:42.78\00:12:46.59 Well, these little waffles don't obviously have 00:12:46.62\00:12:49.42 anything in them, its going to make him rise up, 00:12:49.45\00:12:51.42 right. There is no egg, there is nothing, 00:12:51.45\00:12:52.55 so it's the heat that's gonna do it. 00:12:52.58\00:12:53.88 So that's why you have to it in waffle iron 00:12:53.91\00:12:55.50 and but in process of putting in waffle iron. 00:12:55.53\00:12:57.61 I think it needs to be darling and what could be 00:12:57.64\00:13:01.42 more darling than heart shape. Absolutely. 00:13:01.45\00:13:03.56 Now I realized that you can't find one of those in 00:13:03.59\00:13:05.20 store that you go to, yes, but every once in a while, 00:13:05.23\00:13:08.44 especially around Valentines Day. 00:13:08.47\00:13:14.48 Oh okay everyone looking for heart stuff, 00:13:14.51\00:13:17.65 kitchen stuff. So you can pick it up than 00:13:17.68\00:13:19.11 and you have it and they don't cost a lot of 00:13:19.14\00:13:20.69 money, yeah. And it's just worth the joy of having it 00:13:20.72\00:13:24.16 and so I would say that if you want to make 00:13:24.19\00:13:26.93 Awful Waffles, you really need to make them 00:13:26.96\00:13:28.80 in some thing small and delicate 00:13:28.83\00:13:30.62 because they don't rise up, 00:13:30.65\00:13:32.34 you know it's like a big waffle, 00:13:32.37\00:13:35.99 right it's a thin kind of crispy little thing 00:13:36.02\00:13:38.76 and is darling, absolutely. So, now I know this is now 00:13:38.79\00:13:41.79 thicken up normally how long our friends at 00:13:41.82\00:13:43.08 home you would it set for, 10 minutes 00:13:43.11\00:13:44.93 to set up little bit. Probably, yeah 10, 00:13:44.96\00:13:47.44 okay, maybe so. Could we try to pour even 00:13:47.47\00:13:49.47 though it's not set up, we are just pouring them, 00:13:49.50\00:13:51.12 we show him how to. Yeah, we can show it. 00:13:51.15\00:13:52.99 How it looks when it's done, yeah I think 00:13:53.02\00:13:54.08 I would think that you can, 00:13:54.11\00:13:55.08 okay it's not going to be exactly right 00:13:55.09\00:13:56.52 because it's going too liquidity. It's absolutely, 00:13:56.55\00:13:58.65 so we understand that and well just pour 00:13:58.68\00:14:01.30 a little bit in and then, it's way too liquidity, 00:14:01.33\00:14:03.35 okay, look at this it's going to not work, 00:14:03.38\00:14:06.37 but we are closing that, oh yeah, 00:14:06.40\00:14:08.08 and be sure and get it in your little heart parts, 00:14:08.11\00:14:11.13 oh yeah very cute. Sizzling is good. 00:14:11.16\00:14:14.58 Yeah. It's very cute. And we just know if we did 00:14:14.61\00:14:19.93 at our home normally it would be thicker so, 00:14:19.96\00:14:21.75 yes indeed. Yeah, okay, oh cute good, 00:14:21.78\00:14:26.27 here we go, now we have a awful over there, 00:14:26.30\00:14:28.17 let's look at that. Because, it comes in heart shapes, 00:14:28.20\00:14:31.12 you can serve it out as it is and like this 00:14:31.15\00:14:35.34 and this kind of cute, it's very cute, 00:14:35.37\00:14:37.60 but I think it's nice also to do it 00:14:37.63\00:14:39.18 and you can freeze these and you can toast them, 00:14:39.21\00:14:41.27 nice and okay I always encourage people that 00:14:41.30\00:14:46.51 if they are doing something like this, 00:14:46.54\00:14:48.07 they need to spend a day creating these little 00:14:48.10\00:14:50.99 treasures and then stick them in the freezer 00:14:51.02\00:14:52.64 and then you have the opportunity to pop them 00:14:52.67\00:14:56.01 out as your leisure because not everybody wants to 00:14:56.04\00:14:57.54 get in their blender and, that's right. 00:14:57.57\00:14:59.75 And do that. That's right. 00:14:59.78\00:15:03.88 And then you can pop them like this, 00:15:03.91\00:15:05.35 there is a variety of ways, cute, 00:15:05.38\00:15:07.26 that you can do this. Yes, that would be really nice 00:15:07.29\00:15:11.08 for Valentine's Day. Yes. Or just for 00:15:11.11\00:15:12.39 your family to make them feel lot. 00:15:12.42\00:15:13.68 Yeah, and kids love this type of thing, just to play. 00:15:13.71\00:15:15.99 And it's like playing in the kitchen and that's how, 00:15:16.02\00:15:18.51 I learned to cook. I played in the kitchen 00:15:18.54\00:15:20.02 with my mother. O that's special, 00:15:20.05\00:15:22.40 so you've been cooking your life? 00:15:22.43\00:15:23.83 Yes, from childhood. From childhood. 00:15:23.86\00:15:26.01 O that's real special, and then you learned 00:15:26.04\00:15:27.76 from your mom all the, how to cook healthier 00:15:27.79\00:15:29.96 and stuff. I think I learned at my mother's 00:15:29.99\00:15:31.70 apron strings. That's very cute. 00:15:31.73\00:15:36.67 Yeah and I think it's important that moms 00:15:36.70\00:15:38.00 have their kids in the kitchen. Oh yeah. 00:15:38.03\00:15:39.72 Because, even my son is an excellent cook. 00:15:39.75\00:15:42.44 Really, really he is, good. 00:15:42.47\00:15:44.57 Right and my daughter is superb. 00:15:44.60\00:15:46.38 Oh, that's neat, now how long would we let this cook 00:15:46.41\00:15:48.78 rack and let it cook for the whole time now, 00:15:48.81\00:15:50.48 but how long would you like to cook? 00:15:50.51\00:15:51.91 It's about a 10 minute cook, okay. 00:15:51.94\00:15:53.65 Because, when you don't let it do, 00:15:53.68\00:15:55.53 it will separate, yes, and then you can't 00:15:55.56\00:15:58.66 get it back together. Yes, absolutely. 00:15:58.69\00:16:00.76 So, it's better to over cook it, okay, 00:16:00.79\00:16:02.21 then to under, okay, undercooking. 00:16:02.24\00:16:04.34 Good, what are we gonna make next to put 00:16:04.37\00:16:06.23 on this Waffles. Well I have a really nee 00:16:06.26\00:16:08.84 recipe called just Date Syrup, 00:16:08.87\00:16:10.95 isn't just boring name? But, it sounds good. 00:16:10.98\00:16:14.07 It is good. Yes, so we are gonna do that next. 00:16:14.10\00:16:16.13 Good, let's read that recipe for the Date Syrup. 00:16:16.16\00:16:18.50 For that you need, ½ c. dates 00:16:18.53\00:16:21.43 1 1/2c. hot water 2 tbsp. frozen apple juice 00:16:21.46\00:16:26.43 concentrate 1 ½ tsp. vanilla or orange flavoring. 00:16:26.46\00:16:31.64 You know Bev I really like that about your recipes 00:16:33.41\00:16:35.53 because they are nice and easy. 00:16:35.56\00:16:36.80 Well thank you, I wouldn't make him if they won't. 00:16:36.83\00:16:39.01 I have to cook nice and easy. 00:16:39.04\00:16:41.15 But by the way I forget to mention that in the 00:16:41.18\00:16:45.13 waffle mix, if it doesn't thick enough for you 00:16:45.16\00:16:49.13 as you had intended to thicken up just pour some 00:16:49.16\00:16:51.54 extra cashews in there. Oh good, 00:16:51.57\00:16:53.98 so that's a nice easy way that you can thicken it. 00:16:54.01\00:16:56.06 It's just an easy fix and I think, good, 00:16:56.09\00:16:57.16 I think it's really important that remember fixes 00:16:57.19\00:16:59.19 because sometimes thing don' workout. 00:16:59.22\00:17:01.11 Right, so let me just ask you if were blending it 00:17:01.14\00:17:03.61 then and you set it for 10 minutes and it wasn't 00:17:03.64\00:17:06.72 thicken up then you add the cashews 00:17:06.75\00:17:08.31 or would you add him at the beginning? 00:17:08.34\00:17:09.63 I think you could kind a if you have made 00:17:09.66\00:17:10.98 these enough, you kind of know that is not right. 00:17:11.01\00:17:13.57 Got you. Okay, so you can, but you can wait 00:17:13.60\00:17:16.87 for your 10 minutes, if you are obviously learning 00:17:16.90\00:17:19.18 this. Right, and then okay good, 00:17:19.21\00:17:21.84 now let's look at this Date Syrup here. 00:17:21.87\00:17:23.51 Well this is really another one of those little 00:17:23.54\00:17:24.72 simple things, that you just pour a bunch of stuff 00:17:24.75\00:17:26.57 in the blender, which I said I don't do, but, 00:17:26.60\00:17:29.29 the point is that on these two recipes I do, I do. 00:17:29.32\00:17:32.44 We are doing it? I do, that's right. 00:17:32.47\00:17:33.44 And I'd prefer majule dates that smash 00:17:33.45\00:17:35.99 and when you are doing your 13 dates then the 00:17:36.02\00:17:37.73 recipe says, you smash him, okay, down, 00:17:37.76\00:17:45.36 you smash him with, just your fingers, just, okay, 00:17:45.39\00:17:47.77 into that, say for instance as if this was a 00:17:47.80\00:17:49.89 up, you just smash him, like with your, 00:17:49.92\00:17:52.39 so it makes little stronger. Okay good. 00:17:52.42\00:17:54.60 And I just put a tad, okay and this is a dump 00:17:56.40\00:17:59.61 cook right? Got it, good job, okay, here we go. 00:17:59.64\00:18:03.95 I'm gonna put in this will. Okay, normally at home 00:18:31.54\00:18:34.49 we blend a little bit more, is that right? 00:18:34.52\00:18:35.94 Yes because that today's didn't. 00:18:35.97\00:18:37.45 Oh blend that like they are supposed to, 00:18:37.48\00:18:39.56 okay how long we do normally blend it at 00:18:39.59\00:18:41.39 home for? Well in home I would use normal dates. 00:18:41.42\00:18:43.96 Got you, okay, okay. And so it works better, 00:18:43.99\00:18:48.00 right, the deal thing is just use pitted dates, 00:18:48.03\00:18:50.98 yes, real dates and that work a lot better. 00:18:51.01\00:18:53.34 Not the majule? Majule is my favorite. 00:18:53.37\00:18:55.67 Your favorite, okay for pitted dates good, 00:18:55.70\00:18:57.66 okay good then we put it on the stove there, right. 00:18:57.69\00:19:01.65 And then what do we do? We just wait it for to boil, 00:19:01.68\00:19:04.89 and some times little thickens up a little bit 00:19:04.92\00:19:06.77 as you boil it down. But, then you can pour it 00:19:06.80\00:19:11.26 into a pitcher or, nice, container with a little spoon 00:19:11.29\00:19:14.91 so you can scoop it on your. 00:19:14.94\00:19:16.17 Yeah that's cute, yeah very nice and I'm sure is 00:19:16.20\00:19:19.33 awesome over those Waffles. 00:19:19.36\00:19:21.04 Yes is very nice, I mean that sounds really good. 00:19:21.07\00:19:22.57 And of course if you always put fresh fruits, 00:19:22.60\00:19:24.36 I always love to have fresh food living 00:19:24.39\00:19:26.80 or we live of course we have an abundance, yes, 00:19:26.83\00:19:29.32 and I like to serve it in abundance. 00:19:29.35\00:19:31.25 Absolutely, yeah fruits make a big difference. 00:19:31.28\00:19:33.59 It does. Now we are going to something 00:19:33.62\00:19:34.87 that's some people think its not such a good thing, 00:19:34.90\00:19:37.68 I'm talking about tofu, some people don't 00:19:37.71\00:19:40.00 really like tofu.
