God is love! 00:23 Hi, boys and girls. 00:24 Do you know what it means to be merciful? 00:27 Being merciful means being kind 00:29 and loving to someone who has hurt you. 00:32 The United States President, Calvin Coolidge, 00:34 was once staying in a hotel room. 00:36 And he woke up to hear a thief in his room 00:38 and that was really frightening. 00:40 But President Coolidge stayed calm. 00:42 He said, please sir I have a watch 00:45 that means a great deal to me. 00:46 I would appreciate it if you didn't steal that. 00:49 And then he continued 00:50 to have a conversation with the thief, 00:52 and he learned that the thief was actually 00:54 a poor young student 00:55 who couldn't afford to pay his hotel bill. 00:58 Do you know what President Coolidge did? 01:00 He took out his wallet 01:01 and he counted out enough money 01:02 to pay the thief's bill. 01:05 And then he said please go out through the window 01:07 the way you come in, 01:08 so that you won't get arrested by the police. 01:12 Well President Coolidge showed the thief mercy 01:14 even though the young man certainly didn't deserve it. 01:17 God is merciful too. 01:19 If you're looking your Bibles 01:21 and read Deuteronomy 4:31 it says, 01:24 "For the Lord your God is a merciful God," 01:27 and "He will not leave you or destroy you." 01:30 Our God is gracious, kind-hearted, 01:33 compassionate and forgiving. 01:35 And He wants everyone to be saved, 01:37 even though we don't deserve it. 01:40 And He does that because He loves us. 01:43 Jeharna is going to sing about God's mercy 01:46 for us in her song. 01:47 "For God So Loved the World." 01:54 "For God so loved the world 01:55 that He gave His only begotten Son, 01:57 that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, 02:00 but have everlasting life." 02:02 John 3:16. 02:08 For God so loved the world He gave His only Son 02:17 To die on Calvary's tree, from sin to set me free 02:26 Some day He's coming back, what glory that will be 02:35 Wonderful His love to me 02:43 For God so loved the world He gave His only Son 02:51 To die on Calvary's tree, from sin to set me free 02:59 Some day He's coming back, what glory that will be 03:08 Wonderful His love to me 03:25 Because God is merciful to us, 03:27 He sent Jesus to give us another chance. 03:29 One we didn't deserve, did we? 26:55 And he wanted to steal anything of value 26:57 and just sneak away? 26:59 That was a terrible thing. 27:00 But the president was so kind and merciful 27:02 that he gave the thief money of his own free will. 27:05 Do, you know what that young man did? 27:07 He used the money to pay his bill 27:09 and then he went to work. 27:11 One day he sent the money back 27:12 to the President and repaid him. 27:14 Well, we can never repay Jesus for what He did for us. 27:18 We can give Him our hearts. 27:20 Well I think that's about all the time 27:22 we have today boys and girls. 27:23 I want you to remember that wherever you go, 27:26 whatever you do, 27:27 it's Kids Time to praise Jesus. |
