kittens and frisky puppies. 00:29 Now kittens and puppies 00:31 need lots of loving care, don't they? 00:34 Have you ever noticed how they show you 00:36 how happy they are when you speak words of praise 00:38 and approval to them? 00:40 They can tell when you're pleased with them, 00:42 just by the tone of your voice. 00:44 A kitten will start to purr 00:46 and rub against your leg 00:47 and a puppy will turn over for you 00:49 once his tummy is scratched. 00:50 Well, just like kittens and puppies, 00:53 we all have been praised 00:54 and loved just for who we are. 00:56 God made us that way. 00:58 And the fact that 00:59 He created humans to respond to praise, 01:02 gives us a little glimpse of God's own nature. 01:05 After all we're told in the book of Genesis 01:07 that God made man and woman in His own image. 01:12 Time after time the Bible speaks of God 01:14 exhibiting emotions much like ours. 01:16 Of course His ways are higher than our ways, 01:19 and His emotions are not tainted with selfishness 01:21 and sin like ours. 01:23 We're told in Psalms 66, 01:25 "To make a joyful noise unto the Lord, 01:28 all ye lands sing forth the honor of His name 01:31 making His praise glorious." 01:35 We don't just praise God for His sake. 01:37 We praise Him for our benefit too. 01:39 He knows that praising Him reminds us that 01:42 we're dependent on God's power and goodness. 01:45 That keeps us from turning our hearts 01:47 against Him out of rebellion or ignorance. 01:49 It keeps us from upsetting the beautiful 01:52 balance in our relationship with Jesus. 01:54 So lift up your voices boys and girls. 01:57 Psalms 96:2 tells us to 01:59 "Sing unto the Lord, 02:00 bless his name shew forth his salvation from day to day." 02:04 Start practicing for the
