God is love! 00:24 Hi, boys and girls, have you ever heard 00:26 people talk about something called the Christian walk. 00:30 Now I'm sure they are not referring to a Sabbath 00:32 afternoon walk or a walk 00:34 upon to raise money. 00:35 What do they mean? 00:37 Well, in the Bible, you can read about 00:39 lot of people who walked with God 00:42 and I imagine that's what they mean 00:43 by the Christian walk. 00:45 For instance Enoch walked with God. 00:48 He walked so closely with God 00:50 in fact that God took him 00:51 straight to heaven without ever dying. 00:55 We're also told that Noah walked with God 00:57 and that he was a just and perfect man. 01:00 Noah walked so closely with God 01:02 that he found special favor 01:03 and was saved with his family from dying in the flood. 01:07 And when Abraham was 99 years old 01:09 God said to him "I'm the Almighty God, 01:12 walk before me, and be thou perfect" 01:16 Abraham showed how closely he walked with God 01:19 by his willingness to give his son Isaac as a sacrifice. 01:23 Years later God told Mosses to teach Abraham descendants, 01:27 ordinances and laws. 01:29 And to show them the way in which they must walk 01:33 and the work that they must do. 01:35 Now we remember Abraham's descendants 01:37 as the children of Israel and they would be 01:39 in entire nation that walked with God. 01:43 God promised the children of Israel 01:45 that if they would walk in His statutes 01:47 and keep His commandments, 01:49 He would among them and be their God 01:51 and they would be His people. 01:54 Many texts indicate that walking with God 01:57 means walking in His ways, keeping His commandments, 02:00 obeying His voice 02:01 and serving Him with gladness. 02:04 David wrote "Blessed is the man 02:06 that walketh not in the way of the ungodly" 02:10 That man delights in God's law 02:12 and He'll stand in the Day of Judgment. 02:15 The Apostle Paul tells us to walk in love 02:18 and to walk in the spirit. 02:20 In fact he points out that walking in the spirit is 02:23 the secret to overcoming sin. 02:26 So next time you take a Sabbath walk, 02:28 boys and girls remember that the Christian walk
