God is love! 00:23 Hi boys and girls, as many of you know 00:26 I love to cook, and I love to bake. 00:29 And in fact my sisters and I have authored 00:31 two cookbooks, I have one here with me. 00:33 It says "Cooking with the Micheff Sisters" 00:36 and you can see our picture right here. 00:37 There is Auntie Linda form Tiny Tots 00:39 and Miss Cinda from Tiny Tots and 00:41 there's Miss Brenda. And we just have so much 00:45 fun cooking in the kitchen. But today, 00:48 I wanna tell you a story that happened 00:50 to Miss Brenda just a few years ago. 00:54 One day I prayed that the Lord would help me, 00:57 I wanted him to make me a blessing in 00:58 someone else's life. And I asked God to use 01:01 me in a very special way. Well several days passed 01:04 and I kept praying that prayer, 01:06 but one morning I woke up and I just felt like 01:09 making cookies. That's right, cookies so I went 01:13 down to my kitchen and I pulled out my 01:15 favorite cookbooks. And I spread them out 01:17 all in the counter, and I decided, 01:19 I think I will make ginger snaps. 01:21 And while they were baking in the oven, 01:23 I went back to my cookbook and I was like, 01:25 oatmeal cookies I think I will make those. 01:27 And then next I make molasses cookies, 01:29 and then I went on and I make this cookie 01:31 and that cookie and this cookie. 01:32 It's a good thing I have a well stocked 01:34 pantry isn't it? In fact, some of my friends 01:36 just to tease me that I had enough food 01:38 in my pantry to make it through the 01:39 time of trouble. And it's probably true. 01:43 Well boys and girls I baked cookies all day long, 01:48 and in fact when my husband came home from 01:49 work and he saw all those cookies that 01:51 were all over my counters. 01:53 He wondered what in the world had gotten 01:55 into me. Well what was I going to do with 01:57 all those cookies and I don't know so I thought, 02:00 I just better put them in my freezer, 02:02 so I baked them all up and I put them in my freezer. 02:05 Well then a couple of weeks later on a 02:06 Sabbath morning I went into my pantry 02:09 and without knowing what I was doing, 02:11 I just pulled every one of those cookies out 02:14 of the freezer and I just put it them on 02:15 the counter. And then I left for church, 02:17 why did I do that? I had no idea. 02:21 Well later that day I went into my pantry 02:23 and I saw those cookies and I thought 02:25 oh! No what I'm gonna do? I said well I guess 02:28 I will take them to a soup kitchen. 02:30 Well I called our local soup kitchen, 02:32 and I was told that they started serving dinner 02:33 to the hungry people at about 5'O clock. 02:36 And these people are people that don't have 02:38 homes or hot foods at night and they've neither 02:41 the soup kitchen to go to. Well I gathered up 02:43 all my cookies and I headed for the 02:45 soup kitchen. And when I got there, 02:47 there was woman that was just ringing 02:49 her hands and she was all nervous 02:50 and she was sacred. She had never been 02:53 there before and she was volunteering 02:54 and she said, will you help me, will you help me 02:57 and I said well yes I'd be glad to help you. 03:00 And she was really upset because 03:03 there was no dessert. And I said no dessert, 03:05 I've got cookies and I held up my cookies 03:08 and I she says that do you have enough cookies? 03:09 I said yes I've got lots of cookies. 03:12 And we did them pretty soon we had all the 03:15 meal prepared and the people started coming 03:17 in and in no time at all we fed lots and lots 03:21 of people and they had lots and lots of cookies. 03:24 Well later that evening as I climbed into my car 03:27 to go home, I placed my hands on that 03:30 steering wheel and I just prayed and 03:32 I thanked God, I said thank you dear Jesus 03:35 for using me, for blessing me and for answering 03:38 my prayers, that I prayed two weeks ago. 03:41 You knew two weeks ago, that you were gonna 03:44 use those cookies tonight. 03:45 And I was so thankful that God had used me 03:49 to provide for others, using my skills 03:52 and my talents that he had given me 03:54 to help others. You know I'm glad I know 03:56 how to prepare a meal for lots and 03:58 lots of people every day. But, even if I do have 04:02 a well stocked pantry I wouldn't really be up 04:04 to that task would I, but that's exactly 04:07 what God does. He provides for an entire 04:09 world of people every single day. 04:12 And Jesus has demonstrated that power 04:14 when he fed more than 5000 people on a 04:16 Hillside and he used just five loaves of bread 04:19 and two little fish. His especially provides for 04:23 those who love and serve Him. 04:25 And David wrote in the Psalms 37:25 04:30 right here it says, I have been young, 04:33 and now I am old, and yet I have not seen 04:37 the righteous forsaken nor his descendants 04:39 begging for bread.
