God is love! 00:25 Hi boys and girls, 00:26 many years ago a tiny baby was born in a 00:29 beehive shaped grass hut in Southwest Uganda. 00:33 And his parents named him Festo. 00:36 Now Festo's tribe, 00:37 they raised cattle in lion country and worshiped 00:40 many different kinds of spirits. 00:42 And Festo later said 00:44 long before the missionaries came to Africa, 00:46 my people knew there was a God. 00:49 And we wanted Him and we desired Him. 00:52 We knew He was the creator and so we try to worship Him. 00:56 But they didn't know how to do that. 01:00 So when little Festo was about ten-years-old, 01:02 a Christian missionary came to his village. 01:05 And that missionary taught him how to read 01:07 and taught him how to write and eventually Festo 01:10 went to high school and then college. 01:13 And when he was older he became a Christian, 01:16 all because he met some very humble loving Christians. 01:21 Now in the 1970s and 80s 01:23 a very mean, violent dictator name Idi Amin, 01:26 he killed as many as 01:27 three hundred thousand Ugandans 01:30 in an effort to gain power. 01:32 And he especially tried to kill all the Christians, 01:35 but fortunately the church remained strong in Uganda 01:38 even though many Christians died during that time. 01:41 And when Festo found out that Idi Amin wanted to kill him. 01:45 Festo and his wife fled the country 01:47 leaving behind all the belongings, 01:49 they couldn't take anything with them. 01:51 Festo later wrote about his experiences in a book. 01:54 Now this will surprise you because you might think 01:56 that Festo wrote about what an evil horrible man 02:00 Idi Amin was and how he ought to be killed 02:02 or punished himself, right? 02:04 But no, Festo wrote a book called I love Idi Amin. 02:11 Wow, Festo explained on the cross Jesus said, 02:16 Father forgive them because they don't know 02:19 what they are doing. 02:20 Do you know as evil as Idi Amin was, 02:23 how could Festo do less towards him?
