00:08 God is love God is love 00:12 Praise Him, Praise Him All ye little children 00:16 God is love God is love 00:24 Hi, boys and girls, The Bible tells us 00:27 to "Fight the good fight of faith, 00:29 and to lay hold on eternal life." 00:32 You can find that in First Timothy 6:12. 00:35 Now, do you know what that means? 00:37 I wonder if I need this shiny sword 00:40 to fight the battles. 00:42 Look sharp enough, hmm. 00:45 What is the fight of faith? 00:47 And how do we fight it? 00:49 Well, back when God led the children of Israel 00:52 into battle against the Canaanites. 00:54 He warned them to be strong and courageous, 00:57 because He promised to give them the land of Canaan. 01:00 You know, time after time, 01:02 He fought the battles for them and won. 01:05 There it was a fight of faith just like ours. 01:08 Now today, we don't fight against the Canaanites, do we? 01:12 But we do face some real trials in life sometimes. 01:16 And the Bible tells us that even in all these things, 01:20 we are more like the conquerors 01:22 through Him, who loved us. 01:24 We are conquerors, just like the Israelites, 01:27 who were conquerors. 01:28 The same God, who loved them, 01:31 loves us and promises to give us victory. 01:35 It all sounds so simple, doesn't it? 01:37 And it is, it's much more simple than many people think. 01:40 The secret of fighting a good fight of faith 01:43 is found in just two little words, 01:46 trust and obey. 01:48 Trusting and obeying, they just go hand in hand 01:51 and when you love and you trust God, 01:53 you're gonna find that it's easy to obey Him. 01:55 And in obeying Him, you are actually winning 01:58 the good fight of faith. 02:00 You discover that you can do 02:01 all things through Christ, who strengthens you. 02:05 I want you to just get your Bibles out 02:07 and mark that, underline it, Philippians 4:13. 02:10 It's actually Miss. Brenda's favorite text 02:12 in the Bible, I think. 02:13 It says, "I can do all things through Christ," 02:17 not through yourself, but through Christ, 02:20 "Who strengthens you." 02:22 You know, you can learn to trust God 02:24 by reading the Bible and talking with Him in prayer. 02:27 And the Bible is full of so many stories of people 02:31 who trusted and obeyed Him 02:32 and fought the good fight of faith. 02:35 You know, those stories, they give you courage 02:38 and faith to trust God yourself. 02:41 And God still speaks to those 02:42 who listen through His Holy Spirit. 02:45 Pretty soon you'll find yourself 02:46 obeying God and happily following Him into battle, 02:50 knowing that God will fight and win for you 02:53 just like He did for the Israelites. 02:55 Now you don't need a sword like this, wouldn't you?
