Aw, there they are. 00:03:24.70\00:03:29.64 Whoa, they are kind of big. 00:03:29.67\00:03:32.77 They can grow to be about 10 feet long 00:03:32.81\00:03:35.48 and weigh about 1,000 pounds. 00:03:35.51\00:03:40.95 Since they are mammals, they have to breathe air, 00:03:40.98\00:03:43.69 like we do. 00:03:43.72\00:03:45.05 Hey, there's one taking a quick breath. 00:03:45.09\00:03:47.22 Every few minutes, 00:03:47.26\00:03:48.59 they have to come to the surface to breathe. 00:03:48.62\00:03:50.83 Right away, they dive right back down though. 00:03:50.86\00:03:54.06 That's because they like to get back 00:03:54.10\00:03:56.33 to the yummy sea grasses 00:03:56.36\00:03:58.27 and other vegetation that they like to eat. 00:03:58.30\00:04:01.37 They really like their food. 00:04:01.40\00:04:03.54 Adults can eat up to 100 pounds 00:04:03.57\00:04:05.91 of vegetation per day. 00:04:05.94\00:04:07.94 Wow! That is a big salad. 00:04:07.98\00:04:10.88 How much vegetation can they eat in a day? 00:04:10.91\00:04:13.18 100 pounds! Yeah, about a 100 pounds. 00:04:13.21\00:04:17.85 Because of that, they end up spending 00:04:17.89\00:04:20.19 about seven hours a day eating. 00:04:20.22\00:04:25.83 As you noticed, 00:04:25.86\00:04:27.20 they have a couple of front flippers 00:04:27.23\00:04:29.36 and their face is wrinkled with whiskers on their snout. 00:04:29.40\00:04:33.40 Their paddle shaped tail is really big 00:04:33.44\00:04:36.37 and really strong too. 00:04:36.40\00:04:38.27 If they need to zip out of somewhere 00:04:38.31\00:04:40.11 in a hurry, they can. 00:04:40.14\00:04:43.65 The way they sleep is different than people too. 00:04:43.68\00:04:46.95 We rest for long periods of time every night, 00:04:46.98\00:04:49.88 we sleep, but they rest throughout the day 00:04:49.92\00:04:52.92 and night for short periods. 00:04:52.95\00:04:55.79 Some scientists think that when they're resting, 00:04:55.82\00:04:58.96 they can surface to breathe without fully waking up. 00:04:58.99\00:05:02.83 Is that like sleep walking? 00:05:02.86\00:05:06.90 Since they're mammals, 00:05:06.94\00:05:08.27 the babies like to drink their mother's milk 00:05:08.30\00:05:10.47 when they are young. 00:05:10.51\00:05:11.84 The interesting thing is that it gets 00:05:11.87\00:05:13.27 the mother's milk from right under her flipper. 00:05:13.31\00:05:15.91 Manatees are migrating creatures, 00:05:19.61\00:05:22.18 that means that during the year, 00:05:22.22\00:05:23.85 they move around to different places. 00:05:23.89\00:05:26.25 What kind of creatures are they? 00:05:26.29\00:05:27.92 Migrating creatures! Uh, well, I do. 00:21:22.51\00:21:25.55 Last part of the year at the last Bible study, 00:21:25.58\00:21:29.22 after I told my dad that I want to be baptized 00:21:29.25\00:21:32.75 and I knew Oshkosh was coming around the corner 00:21:32.79\00:21:34.86 so I asked 00:21:34.89\00:21:36.22 if I could be baptized at Oshkosh. 00:21:36.26\00:21:37.79 And why did you decide to be baptized? 00:21:37.83\00:21:40.36 What was it? 00:21:40.40\00:21:41.73 Because I love Jesus and it's just natural 00:21:41.76\00:21:44.40 that I love Him. 00:21:44.43\00:21:45.77 Mm-hmm. 00:21:45.80\00:21:47.14 It's like um, the natural love to your parents. 00:21:47.17\00:21:50.61 The natural love for your parents, yes. 00:21:50.64\00:21:52.14 And it's now also natural 00:21:52.17\00:21:53.51 when you fall in love with Jesus, 00:21:53.54\00:21:54.88 you want to just make a full commitment to Him, 00:21:54.91\00:21:56.81 all the way. 00:21:56.85\00:21:58.18 So Sam, I really appreciate that. 00:21:58.21\00:21:59.91 And then, Maddy, you took Bible studies too 00:21:59.95\00:22:02.98 and you made a decision too, didn't you? 00:22:03.02\00:22:05.05 Mm-hmm. And what did you decide? 00:22:05.09\00:22:07.26 I decided to follow Jesus and be baptized 00:22:07.29\00:22:10.36 because my mom, 00:22:10.39\00:22:15.03 she had a Bible study 00:22:15.06\00:22:18.27 with the girls in my class at our house. 00:22:18.30\00:22:22.50 And near the end of the first year, 00:22:22.54\00:22:26.17 I decided that I wanted to be baptized 00:22:26.21\00:22:28.44 and so I told my dad that I wanted to, 00:22:28.48\00:22:32.48 and so when Oshkosh was coming, 00:22:32.51\00:22:37.49 I decided to get baptized with my brother. 00:22:37.52\00:22:40.12 That's good. 00:22:40.16\00:22:41.49 We actually have a little video clip. 00:22:41.52\00:22:44.79 Let's show first Sam. 00:22:44.83\00:22:46.16 This is Sam's baptism right here 00:22:46.19\00:22:48.40 and this is his father, baptizing him 00:22:48.43\00:22:52.07 and lowering him down into the water. 00:22:52.10\00:22:54.30 And that is a beautiful moment right there, isn't it Sam? 00:22:54.34\00:22:58.07 Mm-hmm. 00:22:58.11\00:22:59.44 And that will be such a wonderful memory, 00:22:59.47\00:23:01.38 and all your family was there around you as well. 00:23:01.41\00:23:03.78 What an incredible moment. 00:23:03.81\00:23:05.48 And then Maddy, we also have a little clip of you 00:23:05.51\00:23:07.55 being baptized and here's your dad baptizing you 00:23:07.58\00:23:10.65 and also lowering you down into the water. 00:23:10.69\00:23:13.25 And look at the wonderful moment, 00:23:13.29\00:23:17.36 that expression on your face 00:23:17.39\00:23:18.73 when you come up out of that water 00:23:18.76\00:23:20.30 and that's a wonderful moment. 00:23:20.33\00:23:22.03 What did you think 00:23:22.06\00:23:23.40 when you came up out of the water? 00:23:23.43\00:23:25.43 Um, it was a very exciting and wonderful feeling. 00:23:25.47\00:23:29.74 I felt like I was a new person and... 00:23:29.77\00:23:33.51 Because all our sins are buried down 00:23:33.54\00:23:35.58 under that water and we come up, 00:23:35.61\00:23:36.95 we are new in Jesus, 00:23:36.98\00:23:38.41 we're now a baby Christians in our new walk with Jesus, 00:23:38.45\00:23:40.95 is that a thrilling experience, isn't it? 00:23:40.98\00:23:43.69 Now, did you had a chance to share your faith 00:23:43.72\00:23:45.95 with other people, with other kids, other adults? 00:23:45.99\00:23:49.22 Yeah, at school, there's this one kid 00:23:49.26\00:23:51.79 who is being pretty difficult to be nice to, 00:23:51.83\00:23:54.63 and at school we like to play football a lot 00:23:54.66\00:23:57.03 and he gets like, sort of upset a lot 00:23:57.07\00:23:59.93 and I just try to be nice and... 00:23:59.97\00:24:05.04 To act like Jesus? Mm-hmm. 00:24:05.07\00:24:06.41 It's really... 00:24:06.44\00:24:07.78 I'm glad you brought that up, Sam, because, boys and girls, 00:24:07.81\00:24:10.18 it's easy to be nice to somebody that's nice to you, 00:24:10.21\00:24:13.35 I mean, it's easy to love someone 00:24:13.38\00:24:15.15 that's really nice. 00:24:15.18\00:24:16.79 Much more difficult to be nice to somebody 00:24:16.82\00:24:19.39 that isn't quite so wonderful to you, 00:24:19.42\00:24:22.29 and yet Jesus tells us that we are supposed 00:24:22.32\00:24:24.86 to even love our enemies, that's right. 00:24:24.89\00:24:27.73 In fact, Jesus wants us to love our enemies 00:24:27.76\00:24:30.30 so much that we couldn't imagine heaven without them. 00:24:30.33\00:24:33.67 Now that's a lot of love, isn't it? 00:24:33.70\00:24:35.70 So and it's God that puts that love in your heart, 00:24:35.74\00:24:38.97 Sam, so that is a witness. 00:24:39.01\00:24:40.34 That's a tremendous witness for Jesus. 00:24:40.38\00:24:42.68 Just by our actions when we act like 00:24:42.71\00:24:44.91 Jesus would want us to act. 00:24:44.95\00:24:46.61 What about you, Maddy? 00:24:46.65\00:24:47.98 Have you had a chance to witness for Jesus? 00:24:48.02\00:24:49.85 Well, we still were doing the Bible studies 00:24:49.88\00:24:52.62 after I got baptized 00:24:52.65\00:24:53.99 and so a lot of the... 00:24:54.02\00:24:59.59 Except this time 00:24:59.63\00:25:00.96 we're just marking our Bibles but... 00:25:01.00\00:25:03.87 And we're learning about patience and obedience 00:25:03.90\00:25:07.54 and stuff like that, and being kind, and... 00:25:07.57\00:25:12.47 And that's important. 00:25:12.51\00:25:13.84 There's also somebody in my class 00:25:13.88\00:25:17.65 who is kind of difficult to be 00:25:17.68\00:25:20.52 around sometimes and... 00:25:20.55\00:25:24.45 Do you treat him with love and kindness? 00:25:24.49\00:25:26.39 I try to. 00:25:26.42\00:25:27.76 That's wonderful. Sometimes it's hard though. 00:25:27.79\00:25:29.52 Sure, sometimes it's hard 00:25:29.56\00:25:30.89 and I'm glad you are honest about that 00:25:30.93\00:25:32.26 because it doesn't mean it's easy 00:25:32.29\00:25:34.03 but here's what you can do. 00:25:34.06\00:25:35.56 Every time that you... 00:25:35.60\00:25:37.37 It is difficult for you to be kind 00:25:37.40\00:25:40.34 and loving to somebody else 00:25:40.37\00:25:41.70 who's kind of being nasty to you. 00:25:41.74\00:25:44.44 Pray and ask Jesus to help you. 00:25:44.47\00:25:46.07 Say, "Dear Jesus, please help me right now 00:25:46.11\00:25:48.81 to respond in love." 00:25:48.84\00:25:50.48 And here's another thing that I've learned is 00:25:50.51\00:25:54.35 that if somebody has done something 00:25:54.38\00:25:55.72 to hurt my feelings, 00:25:55.75\00:25:57.09 I ask God to put forgiveness in my heart 00:25:57.12\00:25:58.59 for them right then and there, 00:25:58.62\00:25:59.95 so it's not something ever separating me 00:25:59.99\00:26:01.89 between me and Jesus. 00:26:01.92\00:26:03.39 So if someone hurts my feelings, I say, 00:26:03.43\00:26:05.19 "Lord, please give me forgiveness 00:26:05.23\00:26:06.56 in my heart for them." 00:26:06.59\00:26:07.93 Even though they didn't ask for forgiveness, 00:26:07.96\00:26:09.46 we need to forgive, don't we? 00:26:09.50\00:26:11.33 So it's an important... 00:26:11.37\00:26:12.70 Would you encourage other boys and girls 00:26:12.73\00:26:14.97 to make this decision for Jesus too? 00:26:15.00\00:26:17.01 Yes. 00:26:17.04\00:26:18.37 Well, I want you, boys and girls, 00:26:18.41\00:26:19.74 to keep shining for Jesus. 00:26:19.77\00:26:21.11 Thank you, Sam and Maddy, for being with us today. 00:26:21.14\00:26:22.94 Boys and girls, I want you to witness for Jesus, 00:26:22.98\00:26:25.41 do you know why? 00:26:25.45\00:26:26.78 It's Kids' Time to share Jesus. 00:26:26.82\00:26:29.48 Kids' Time 00:26:39.63\00:26:41.43 Kids' Time, Kids' Time 00:27:02.48\00:27:04.39 Kids' Time, Kids' Time Kids' Time 00:27:04.42\00:27:07.72 Kids' Time 00:27:10.43\00:27:12.26
