00:01 It's almost time for Kids' Time.
00:03 We're going to be late. 00:04 It's time to share there's a world out there 00:08 Looking for a friend like Jesus 00:12 It's time to share there's a world out there 00:16 Let's tell them that He loves us so 00:20 Let's tell them 00:21 That He loves us so 00:24 Kids' Time, Kids' Time Kids' Time, Kids' Time 00:28 Kids' Time 00:31 Hi, boys and girls. 00:32 Have you ever lost someone that you loved? 00:35 I don't mean, like, losing them in a crowd or on a playground. 00:38 I mean, really losing them to death. 00:41 I know I have, 00:43 and it's one of the worst things ever 00:44 about living in this world. 00:46 Sooner or later, we all lose someone we love. 00:49 Some people die when they're young, 00:51 and healthy, and sometimes when they're old and sick. 00:54 Even Jesus when He was here on earth had a friend who died. 00:58 And He did exactly what we all do 01:01 when we lose someone we love. Jesus cried. 01:04 Can you imagine the Creator of the universe 01:07 crying over a friend? 01:09 Only He wasn't really crying about just one friend. 01:13 He was crying about all the friends 01:15 He would lose someday because of sin. 01:18 I'll tell you the whole story in just a few minutes 01:21 but first, it's time for our Nature Time. 01:32 Oh, hey, everyone. It's me, Rich Aguilera. 01:35 And as usual, I'm taking pictures 01:37 of some of the amazing nature God has created. 01:40 It's everywhere, check out these mountains here. 01:44 Right now, we're in one of my favorite places in the world. 01:47 We are in the Alps. Where are we? 01:51 The Alps. 01:52 That's right, the Alps. 01:54 That's a mountain range here in Europe. 01:55 Right now, we're in France. 01:58 Check out these mountains. 02:04 I really think mountains are amazing. 02:06 They're so snowy, and so pointy, and so big. 02:11 I love mountains. 02:16 If I don't stop myself, 02:18 I'll just keep taking pictures all day long. 02:21 Oh, man. 02:23 I came here because I want to talk to you 02:25 about something called glaciers. 02:28 What are we going to talk about? 02:30 Glaciers! 02:31 That's right, glaciers. 02:35 Well, the glacier I want to show you 02:36 is actually on the other side of that mountain. 02:39 But guess what? 02:40 Instead of hiking it, let's take this cool train up 02:42 and around the mountain. 02:43 Let's go. 02:45 Glaciers are large masses of dense packed ice. 02:49 If you live somewhere cold, you know how it works. 02:51 Each year it snows and each year 02:53 when summer comes along, it all goes away. 02:57 Oh, we made it. 03:00 Check this out. 03:02 We're at 6276 feet. 03:05 That's pretty high. You know what that means? 03:08 That means it's time to switch hats. 03:12 Much better. Let's take a look around. 03:17 Now we're talking about having a great view of the glacier, 03:19 look at this. 03:23 You know what? I've got to take a picture. 03:26 This is awesome. 03:31 So normally for many of us that live in the winter 03:34 when it snows, after a few months 03:36 the snow goes away. 03:38 But a glacier is different. 03:40 In these places, it snows a lot each year 03:42 but at the end of the year, it doesn't all go away. 03:45 Some of it stays till next year. 03:47 And the next year, the same thing happens, 03:50 and the year after, and the year after. 03:51 And the snow starts piling up and it gets packed into ice. 03:56 Some of the snow can get really, really old 03:59 because it never melts away. 04:01 Why does the snow get old? 04:02 It never melts away! 04:04 That's right, because it never melts away. 04:07 Let's keep looking around. 04:12 This is actually the longest glacier 04:13 in all of France. 04:15 It's over 4 miles long and up to 600 feet deep. 04:19 They call this mountain of the glass, sea of ice. 04:23 Wow, amazing. 04:27 There's another very interesting thing 04:29 about glaciers. 04:30 They're always moving. What are they always doing? 04:33 Moving! 04:35 That's right, moving. 04:37 Wait a second, moving? 04:39 Does that glacier down there look like it's moving? 04:42 I don't think so. 04:44 Actually, you can't really tell, 04:46 but it is moving really, really slow. 04:53 Because of glaciers on the slope 04:54 and because it's heavy, 04:56 gravity is always pushing them downhill. 04:59 What's pushing them downhill? 05:01 Gravity! 05:03 That's right, gravity. 05:05 Glaciers all over the world are different. 05:07 Each one moves at a different speed. 05:09 This one here moves about eight inches per day. 05:12 This one's pretty slow, but a typical glacier 05:15 moves about three feet per day. 05:18 About how much does a typical glacier move in a day? 05:20 Three feet per day! 05:22 That's right, about three feet per day. 05:24 Wow, that's fast. 05:26 And a fast glacier, 05:27 they can move about a 100 feet in one day. 05:30 Whoa, that's fast, slow down. 05:33 Hey, you know what? 05:34 There's actually a trail that can take us down 05:36 a little bit closer to the glacier. 05:38 Let's go, check it out. 05:51 Wow. Man. 05:53 I've got to take another picture. 05:59 Wow. 06:00 Well, all of these pictures 06:01 are going to help me to remember 06:03 all of the cool things we saw today. 06:05 Hey, if you want to see any of those pictures, you can. 06:08 Just go to our website at KidsTime4Jesus.org 06:12 and click on Nature Time. 06:14 Well, I've had a lot of fun learning about glaciers 06:17 with you today. 06:19 Remember, God is the Creator, nature is His masterpiece. 06:24 See you. I'm going to hike some more. 06:32 Welcome to Learning Time. I'm glad you joined us today. 06:35 Today, we're in a very special spot, 06:37 and where are we? 06:39 Oshkosh! 06:41 We're at Oshkosh, 06:42 Wisconsin for the International Pathfinder Camporee 06:45 where there's over 45,000 pathfinder's camp 06:48 from all over the world and we got a good group 06:50 of them here today. 06:51 And I want to find out where some of our helpers 06:54 are from and what their names are. 06:55 So what is your name? 06:57 My name is Anna, and I'm from Ohio. 06:58 Wow, thanks for helping us. 07:00 And what is your name? 07:01 My name is Hannah, and I'm from Wisconsin Rapids. 07:03 And you're from Wisconsin, we're right here in your state. 07:06 Thank you, and what is your name? 07:07 I'm Eric, and I'm from Naples, Florida. 07:09 From Naples, Florida. 07:10 So we're from all over the place. 07:11 Now, today we have 07:13 a little science program about a hoop. 07:14 Now have anybody ever seen a hoop like this? 07:17 Yeah! 07:18 I'll call it a hula hoop. 07:20 It has a lot of history 'cause hoops 07:21 have been used for years 07:23 and centuries actually made out of willow, 07:24 and vines, and those kinds of things. 07:27 So we're going to be doing a little bit of hooping today. 07:30 So let's get our hoopers out there. 07:31 So come on out here, right here. 07:34 Here we go. 07:35 Get a hooper, spread on out, spread on out. 07:37 We need some room. 07:38 And let's see, we're going to try around your waist. 07:40 Let's see what we got. 07:42 We got some centripetal force right here, so the hoop... 07:44 Go, go, go, and get them. There we go. 07:47 There we go. Cool. Like that, cool. 07:52 Okay, now... 07:54 All right, now let's see what we got. 07:56 Now besides your waist, can you hoop it around 08:00 any other part of your body? 08:01 I think you can do your neck 08:03 and anybody over a wrist or how about a foot? 08:04 Okay, let's go. 08:06 Let's see what you can do, hoop, hoop, hoop. 08:07 Come on! Spread away. Look at that. 08:10 Look at her around her abs. 08:12 How cool is that? How cool is that? 08:15 You always take the hoop like this, 08:16 and let's look at what we call friction 08:18 and also it's called a force. 08:20 Very special kind of force, it's called kinetic energy, 08:23 it's moving energy and friction. 08:25 So we can make something, 08:27 we can throw something away from us 08:29 and have it come back by using some friction. 08:32 Now how about that, are we ready? 08:33 So here's what we going to... 08:35 All right, I'm going to throw mine out like this, 08:36 and spin it, and that'll come right back to me. 08:39 Yeah, give it a try, give it a try. 08:41 Spin it like that, like that. 08:43 It's coming, yes, it's coming right back to you. 08:45 Cool. How cool is that? 08:48 Wow. 08:49 Now let me tell you something about the history of this. 08:53 You know, there have been people that have actually 08:56 made some interesting things with hoop. 08:58 There's one person that took a hoop 09:00 that weighed 53 pounds. 09:03 It was a big old tire 09:04 and he did that around his waist. 09:06 Isn't that incredible? Yeah! 09:07 Wow Well, these have a lot of action, 09:10 a lot of action with a hula hoop. 09:12 And some hoops had actually water rim. 09:14 Would that be kind of fun? 09:16 And the water helped that momentum to go 09:18 around, and around, and around. 09:20 That's interesting, isn't it? Yes! 09:21 Well, that hoop is interesting but, you know, 09:24 sometimes we don't think about one of the forces 09:26 that we looked at when the hoop 09:27 went out like this, and you spun it, 09:29 and it came back. 09:30 It did that because of friction, 09:32 the friction with the hoop on the grass. 09:34 And, you know, friction is responsible 09:35 for you and I to be walking. 09:37 You and I can't walk unless there's friction 09:39 between our feet and what we're walking on. 09:42 Is friction a good thing? Yes. 09:44 I think so too. 09:47 Now some things that we throw out 09:49 don't come back to us, right? 09:50 Yeah! 09:51 Yeah, and, you know, some of those... 09:53 And that reminds me of words, 09:55 it really does because, you know, 09:56 the words that we speak out, do they ever come back? 09:59 No! No. 10:00 What we speak is gone, it's gone. 10:02 And sometimes our words can hurt people, 10:04 and sometimes our words can heal people, right? 10:07 And actually make them feel happier 10:09 and that's pretty cool, isn't it? 10:10 So, you know... Yeah! 10:12 And God wants us to have words, when we send our words out, 10:15 He wants those words to be healing 10:16 and He wants our words to be kind. 10:19 And that's what I want. 10:20 You want your words to be kind and healing? 10:22 Yeah! I do too. 10:24 And, you know, every time we learn more about science, 10:27 we learn more about our Creator, God. 10:37 Happy Sabbath, boys and girls. How's everyone today? 10:40 Really good. 10:44 Oh, my, my, my, such long faces. 10:48 What's the matter? 10:50 Ellie, what's the problem? 10:52 Well, we were supposed to go on a hike 10:54 this afternoon but now it's raining 10:56 so we can't go. 10:57 Oh, and you're all disappointed? 11:00 Yeah. 11:01 Well, Vashti, that doesn't mean 11:02 that we can't all have a wonderful day, does it? 11:05 Ellie, why don't you come and join us? 11:07 And I'll tell you a story, all right? 11:09 Okay. 11:12 Long ago, when Jesus was on earth, 11:14 He had some special friends that invited Him 11:17 to stay in their home 11:18 whenever He would pass through their town. 11:20 And He was especially grateful for their kind hospitality. 11:24 Who knows the name of their friends? 11:26 One is Mary, Martha, and Lazarus. 11:32 That's right. 11:34 One day, Lazarus suddenly became very ill. 11:55 Mary and Martha knew that 11:57 Jesus upon hearing of their brother's sickness 12:00 would surely come to his aid. 12:03 Please, send a word to Jesus. 12:09 Ask Him to come quickly, for He can heal me. 12:13 Elias, please find Jesus. Tell Him to come quickly. 12:19 Lazarus is very sick. Go, hurry. 12:25 Don't worry, Jesus is coming soon. 12:31 He'll be here in just a moment. 12:36 And so he had to find a job but nobody was hiring. 12:39 So he's forced to work for a pig farmer. 12:41 In fact he had so little money that he had to eat the sloth. 12:46 That was his food. Eat sloth. 12:50 Jesus, come quickly. 12:52 Mary and Martha requested me to go, 12:54 Your friend Lazarus is sick and near death. 13:02 Tell Mary and Martha the sickness is not unto death, 13:06 but to the glory of God. 13:13 And so after he got tired of eating pig sloth... 13:20 Mary, Martha... 13:22 You're alone. Why are you alone? 13:26 Yes, please tell us. 13:29 Jesus cares very much for Lazarus. 13:31 Surely, He's right behind you. 13:33 I did, indeed, speak to Jesus 13:36 and His disciples are quite well. 13:39 When I gave Him your message... 13:41 He said quite calmly 13:43 that this sickness is not unto death. 13:47 Okay. 13:49 Mary and Martha could hardly make sense of His words, 13:52 Jesus had not come. 13:54 From the message delivered, 13:56 it sounded as if their brother would not die from the sickness 14:00 that he might recover after all. 14:03 Sadly, Lazarus did not get any better, 14:07 and it was not long after that he died. 14:10 No! No! 14:31 Peter, it's time. 14:35 Let's journey once more to Judea. 14:38 I should like to visit Mary and Martha 14:43 where Lazarus sleeps. 14:45 Master, if he's sleeping... 14:48 Lazarus is dead. 14:52 I'm glad for your sake I was not there, 14:56 lest you might believe. 15:00 Nevertheless, let us go to him. 15:04 You wake the others. 15:05 Yes. Yes. 15:06 Andrew, it's time to get up. 15:19 Wishing to avoid the crowd, Jesus again sent the messenger 15:23 to Mary and Martha's home. 15:25 Upon hearing of His arrival, Martha left at once. 15:38 Jesus, You arrived at last. 15:46 I need some time with Martha. 15:50 Elias. 15:55 I'm afraid it's too late, Jesus. 15:59 Lazarus already died four days ago. 16:03 If You had been here, he might have... 16:11 Martha... 16:16 Your brother will rise again. 16:18 I know, I know he will rise again 16:21 in resurrection at the last day. 16:24 Martha, I am the resurrection and the life. 16:32 Yes, Lord. 16:34 I believe you are the Christ, the Son of God, but... 16:40 Where's your sister? We should go find her. 16:46 Everybody come, let's go find Mary. 17:01 As the sisters lead Jesus 17:03 to the resting place of their brother, 17:05 He began to weep. 17:07 He felt pain in His heart, 17:09 not for what Lazarus and his family had endured 17:12 but for the suffering of all the world. 17:15 He wept for the sinful race of man 17:18 because He loved them so. 17:23 Take away the stone. 17:26 I wish to see Lazarus. 17:28 But Jesus, surely, there's a bad odor. 17:33 He's been dead going on four days now. 17:35 Martha, I wish to see Lazarus. 17:40 Take the stone away, please. 17:52 Father, thank You for hearing My prayer. 18:11 Lazarus, come forth! 18:14 Then there was a stirring within the tomb, 18:17 and the men and women present 18:19 witnessed one of Christ's greatest miracle. 18:26 He's alive. He's alive. 18:29 Loose him and let him go. 18:34 He's alive. He's alive. 18:44 Jesus. 19:00 Thank You, my friend. 19:02 Truly, You are the almighty, 19:05 the Creator, and our Redeemer. 19:17 So you see, kids, God always has a plan 19:21 even when it may not seem that way. 19:24 The important thing is to remember 19:25 that God is always in control. 19:28 He wants us to have faith in Him. 19:31 Kids, listen to that. 19:33 Do you hear that? No. 19:36 That rain has stopped. It's not raining anymore. 19:39 Yes! 19:40 Yeah, I think you'll be able to go on now 19:42 and hike after all. 19:43 Yes, actually, Miss Brenda, 19:45 I'd like to stay inside a little bit longer 19:47 and learn more about Jesus. 19:49 Would you please tell us another story? 19:51 Yes, please, Miss Brenda. 19:53 Actually, I do have another story I could tell you. 19:56 I was able to visit Israel... 20:04 The news came to Jesus 20:09 Please come fast 20:14 Lazarus is sick 20:16 And without Your help He will not last 20:23 Mary and Martha 20:27 Watched their brother die 20:32 Lazarus come forth 20:34 then somebody said He's alive, he's alive 20:41 And He's four days late 20:45 All hope is gone 20:49 Lord, we don't understand 20:53 Why You waited so long 20:58 But His way is God's way 21:02 Not yours or mine 21:07 Isn't it great When he's four days late 21:11 He's still on time 21:16 On time 21:31 Hi, boys and girls, 21:33 it's time for Miss Brenda's book of the day. 21:36 And today's book, oh, you're right you think, 21:38 oh, that doesn't look like a book 21:40 and it's not. 21:41 It's an incredible CD, it's A Beautiful World 21:44 by Danny Shelton and kids. 21:46 And you are in for a real treat boys and girls, 21:49 because we have Danny Shelton right here today 21:51 and he's going to tell us more about it. 21:53 Hi, Danny, welcome to the program. 21:54 Hi, Miss Brenda, how are you? 21:56 I'm doing good, thanks. 21:57 And I got to tell you, 21:58 I have listened to this CD over, and over, and over, 22:00 and I don't even know which song I love best. 22:02 All right, well, there's a lot of them on there. 22:05 There is. Can I read some of the titles? 22:07 Sure. Sure. 22:08 Well, some of them we have the title song, 22:10 It's A Beautiful World, I Love You, Lord, 22:13 Seven's the Perfect Number, 22:14 I'm kind of curious of that one, 22:16 you're going to tell me about that. 22:17 Sure. 22:18 And then one called Heaven, I Can Do All Things, 22:21 The Lord Still Leads, 22:22 He Answers Prayer, Ready or Not, 22:25 oh, I got to tell you, I do love that one, 22:27 I Have A Song In My Heart, You Are What You Eat, 22:30 and I'm sure people are curious about that one, 22:32 and I Am A Christian. 22:34 Tell me what inspired this CD? 22:37 Well, as you know 22:38 we have the last project called Love Rules! 22:41 Yes. 22:43 And I love every one of those songs. 22:44 So we have DVDs and CDs. 22:45 So far, we just have the CDs 22:47 but when you put this all together for us, 22:49 we'll make DVDs of It's A Beautiful World. 22:52 But we wanted to do more 22:53 because we got such a great response, 22:55 songs that talk about Jesus, 22:57 and give Bible scripture to almost every one of them. 22:59 But one of the subjects 23:01 I wanted to deal with was creation. 23:03 When you read through the Bible... 23:04 In fact, if you ask a lot of adult Christians, 23:07 "What did God make on the third day?" 23:09 They are, "Let's see, well let's see..." 23:12 "What did He make on the fifth day?" 23:14 So this is just like on the other Love Rules! 23:17 We had the Ten Commandments. 23:18 So now kids know. 23:20 Now we know on every day what God created. 23:22 So we called It's A Beautiful World. 23:24 I love that. 23:25 And can we listen to just a little bit 23:28 of It's A Beautiful World right now? 23:29 Wouldn't you like that, boys and girls? 23:31 Let's check and listen. This is... 23:34 And I love the tracks too and I love the music behind. 23:37 Oh, praise the Lord. 23:38 It's a beautiful world 23:40 Okay, bring it up just a little bit. 23:41 That God made just for you and for me 23:46 Isn't that beautiful? 23:47 He created all the six days 23:52 I have faith to believe. I love that song. 23:56 And then, this one then I'm curious about 23:58 You Are What You Eat. 24:00 How did that one come about? 24:02 Well, on all the other songs, 24:03 we hadn't really dealt with health and eating. 24:06 So decisions that we make 24:07 as young people affect us the rest of our lives. 24:10 That's right. 24:11 So I got to thinking about it, and the Lord gave me a song 24:15 You Are What You Eat. 24:16 I've been told, if this is true, 24:17 I plan to grow old. 24:19 And then we go into Bible scriptures 24:21 to literally say, 24:23 "What does the Lord want us to eat?" 24:24 Wow. 24:26 The Lord does really tell us... That's right. 24:27 Old Testament and New Testament. 24:29 Let's take a listen to this one, 24:30 and, you know, Danny, the thing about this song too 24:32 is that, you know, I'm a nurse, 24:34 most diseases can be prevented just by our diet alone. 24:37 Absolutely. 24:38 Let's listen. 24:39 I've been told if this is true 24:42 I plan to grow old 24:46 Let's take a look at what the Bible has to say 24:50 About the foods we eat each day 24:54 Genesis tells about the foods nuts and grains 24:55 Oh, they're going to love this. 24:57 I wish I could play every one of these songs for a while. 24:58 I love them all. 25:00 But I want to say, I know we don't have much time. 25:02 Thank you for what you've done. 25:03 I wrote the songs 25:05 but Miss Brenda puts it all together. 25:07 Without her this wouldn't be a finished project. 25:09 She gets all the singers the... 25:11 I mean, literally she coordinated 25:13 the whole thing, the pictures, 25:15 and what an incredible job that you have done. 25:17 You are being very generous because it's a privilege, 25:19 Danny, to work with these kids 25:20 and, you know, we both share passion for children. 25:25 And it's a privilege to, 25:28 you know, serve God in this way. 25:30 I want to get this song in, I Have a Song in My Heart. 25:32 Tell me about this one 25:33 so they can actually start playing this one if you would. 25:36 Well, Jesus is our song and, you know, 25:39 music is a wonderful, wonderful creation 25:42 and a gift of God. It is. 25:43 So if we have a song in our heart, 25:45 we have Jesus in our heart. 25:46 That's right, and I wonder what a way to worship God. 25:48 Absolutely. 25:50 So it's a wonderful way to show Jesus how much we love Him. 25:51 Listen, boys and girls. 25:53 Which means having this 25:56 Oh, I love this. 25:57 I have a song on my heart and I'm blessed 26:03 I love this song. 26:05 Boys and girls, you're going to want this CD. 26:07 Thank you, Danny, for being with us today. 26:09 You are welcome. Thank you. 26:10 And, boys and girls, get your CD today, 26:12 and call during business hours and order one. 26:15 Remember, boys and girls, wherever you go, 26:17 whatever you do, it's Kids' Time to share Jesus. 26:39 Kids' Time 27:02 Kids' Time, Kids' Time 27:04 Kids' Time, Kids' Time Kids' Time 27:10 Kids' Time |
