00:01 It's almost time for Kids' Time.
00:03 We're going to be late. 00:04 It's time to share, there's a world out there 00:08 Looking for a friend like Jesus 00:11 It's time to share, there's a world out there 00:16 Let's tell them that He loves us so 00:19 Let's tell them 00:21 That He loves us so 00:24 Kids' Time, Kids' Time Kids' Time, Kids' Time 00:28 Kids' Time 00:31 Hi, boys and girls, have you ever seen a miracle? 00:35 Did you know that miracles happen every day? 00:37 Well, they do. 00:39 Right just this morning, the sun came up, 00:40 just like it always does. 00:43 Did you know that's a miracle? 00:45 Just because it happens every day 00:47 doesn't mean it's not. 00:48 I had faith this morning that the sun would come up 00:51 because God has promised 00:54 that the sun will rise and set every day until He comes, 00:57 and He always keeps His promises. 01:00 Faith in miracles are not something 01:02 just for people in Bible times. 01:04 There are some miracles that happen every day, 01:07 just like the sun. 01:08 But sometimes things happen 01:10 that are completely out of the ordinary, 01:13 something you just don't see every day. 01:16 Today's story is about a woman of faith 01:18 and how God rewarded her with a very special miracle. 01:22 You're going to love this story, but first, 01:24 it's time for Nature Time. 01:34 Oh, hey, everyone. 01:36 Rich Aguilera here. 01:37 As usual, I'm taking pictures of some of the amazing nature 01:40 that God has made. 01:42 But today, here in the Yucatan, 01:44 that's in Mexico, 01:45 I'm actually looking at some ancient ruins. 01:48 But that's not really what I want 01:49 to talk to you about today. 01:51 Today, I want to talk to you about something called cenotes. 01:56 What do I want to talk to you about today? 01:58 Cenotes! 01:59 That's right, cenotes. 02:01 But what is a cenote? 02:04 It's basically a sinkhole. 02:06 Well, a sinkhole is basically a cave, 02:09 underground of course, that caved in. 02:12 Now the ground here is actually made of limestone, 02:15 that's a soft stone that dissolves easily. 02:18 Now when it dissolves so much that a cave forms 02:21 and it caves in, 02:22 that is a sinkhole or a cenote. 02:26 Now there's one other interesting about the cenotes. 02:29 They usually have water, ground water, at the bottom. 02:33 You know, there are actually 02:34 hundreds of cenotes around here. 02:37 Should we check one out? 02:39 Yes. 02:41 Yeah, we should. 02:42 Come on, let's go. 02:55 Well, here we are. 02:57 We're actually at the top of the cenote 02:59 where you can see the hole in the ground 03:01 where it caved in. 03:03 You can even see a tree that almost caved in, 03:05 but it's still hanging in there. 03:08 Well, it looks like this is the entrance to the cenote. 03:13 Looks pretty cool and dark. 03:15 Well, I don't want to get my clothes all wet, 03:17 so I'm going to go change, I'll be right back. 03:33 All right, let's head down. 03:43 Well, this is a cenote, a sinkhole, 03:48 and a very unique sinkhole 03:49 because there's just a tiny opening at the top 03:51 where light is coming in. 03:53 Now this is a cool place because, at the bottom here, 03:56 there's actually water. 03:58 Water has collected here. 04:00 And the cool thing is we can get into the water. 04:03 Why don't you come with me? Come on. 04:11 This is going to be cool. 04:20 Well, this is the way down into the water 04:23 to get into the cenote, let's go. 04:28 The water in the cenote is fresh water 04:31 that has been filtered through the ground. 04:33 What kind of water is down here? 04:35 Fresh. Yup, fresh water. 04:39 Cenotes form because soft limestone rock dissolves 04:42 and forms a cave. 04:44 What kind of rock is it? 04:45 Limestone. 04:47 Yeah, limestone. 04:48 Over time, the cave gets bigger 04:50 till eventually the ceiling caves in. 04:55 In the water, little blackfish dart around my legs 04:59 while up above birds fly in and out of the cave, 05:03 and at dusk, bats head out into the night 05:05 looking for something to eat. 05:08 It all happened because water eroded away 05:10 a bunch of soft limestone under the ground. 05:15 And that was awesome. But you know what? 05:17 There's actually lots of cenotes around here, 05:20 so let's go take a look at another one 05:22 that's only a few miles away. 05:23 Let's jump into our rental. 05:37 Wow, here's another cenote, except this one has stairs 05:42 and you can climb up and jump in the water. 05:44 Let's give it a try. 06:07 You know, taking pictures is a cool way 06:09 to remember all of the neat things we've seen. 06:11 If you want to see my pictures, you can. 06:14 Just go to KidsTime4Jesus.org 06:17 and click on Nature Time. 06:19 Well, I've had a ton of fun 06:20 learning about cenotes with you here today. 06:23 Remember, God is the Creator, nature is His masterpiece. 06:28 See you. 06:35 Welcome to Learning Time. 06:37 I'm glad you joined us today. 06:39 You know, we're in a very special place. 06:41 Where are we? 06:42 Oshkosh! 06:44 We are at Oshkosh, Wisconsin, and we're here 06:47 at the International Pathfinder Camporee. 06:49 There are about 45,000 campers camp from all over the world. 06:55 And we've got a good group of them right here, right? 06:57 Yeah! 06:58 I've got some helpers. 07:00 We're going to find out what their names are 07:01 and where they are from. 07:03 So help us with your name. 07:04 I'm Casey Mallerin, I'm from Hammond, Louisiana. 07:06 Well, thanks for being here today. 07:08 And you are? 07:09 Jordan DeGraff, 07:11 and I'm from Forever Faithful Pathfinder Club of Belen, 07:13 New Mexico. 07:14 Well, thank you. And you are? 07:16 I'm Zoey Xu, and I'm from Redding, California. 07:19 I'm glad you're all here, 07:20 and everybody is from different places. 07:22 Today, we're going to be talking about 07:24 the science of this object. 07:26 What is this object here? 07:27 A Frisbee. 07:29 It's a Frisbee. 07:30 Now Frisbee's a very interesting thing. 07:32 So do you know how a Frisbee flies? 07:34 You know how it flies? No. 07:36 Do you know what makes it fly? 07:37 No. 07:39 Do you know what makes it fly? No. 07:40 Well, we're going to try to teach you why 07:41 or how it makes it fly 07:43 because the Frisbee is actually a wing. 07:45 Now have you ever seen a round wing? 07:47 No. 07:48 Well, look at it, here it is. It's a round wing. 07:51 Now this round wing has a top on it, doesn't it? 07:53 Yeah! 07:55 And the top is bulged out like this, 07:57 the bottom just goes flat just like that. 07:59 You can look at the Frisbee you have in your hand. 08:01 Interesting, now as the air comes over the bulging part 08:05 at the top of the Frisbee, 08:06 it goes a lot faster than the bottom. 08:08 And that creates what we call low air pressure. 08:12 So that means that high air pressure is underneath, 08:15 and it lifts the Frisbee up in the air. 08:17 Isn't that cool? Wow! 08:18 Yeah! That is so cool. 08:20 So we can throw Frisbees, we can play a game. 08:22 In fact, I've got a little game right over here. 08:24 It's kind of like Frisbee golf. 08:25 And I'm going to ask my three helpers over here 08:27 to go over there. 08:29 Okay, and what we're going to do, 08:30 we're going to try to see 08:31 if we can get one of these Frisbees inside of that? 08:33 We've got five other ones over here. 08:34 So you guys join us over here, there we go. 08:37 All right, just like that. 08:38 And so we're going to see... 08:40 Now move back a little bit so we can see better. 08:43 Back more and back more. 08:44 Here we go, all right. 08:45 So we're going to give them a countdown. 08:48 How about one, two, three, 08:49 and they're going to start throwing? 08:51 Why don't you throw first? 08:52 Let's start, let's go. 08:53 One... One... 08:55 Two... Two... 08:56 Three... Let it rip. Three... 08:58 Oh, almost! Try yours. 08:59 See if you can get it in. Oh, yes. 09:02 Try yours, see if you can get it in. 09:04 Almost, next one. 09:06 Oh, yes. 09:07 There are two, and almost, and three. 09:13 We got to do some more, here we go. 09:15 All right. Okay. 09:17 All right, go, go for it. 09:19 Here we go, almost. Oh. 09:22 Wow, we got a bunch of them. 09:24 Now we have a whole bunch of others, 09:25 so spread out a little bit. 09:27 We're going to all throw them on three. 09:31 Let's give our count, here we go. 09:33 One... One... 09:34 Two... Two... 09:35 Three... Give it a shot. Three... 09:37 Wow, wow, wow, wow, wow. 09:39 Look at all that, give it a throw. 09:41 Wow. 09:43 Cool, hey, let me get my helpers, 09:45 come back over here. 09:46 We've got all kinds of Frisbees landed inside of our target, 09:49 that's a game, isn't it? 09:51 Yeah. 09:52 We can play games with Frisbees, isn't that cool? 09:55 Yeah! 09:56 You know what's so interesting about the Frisbee 09:58 because every time you have a Frisbee, 10:00 people are usually chasing it, right? 10:02 Yeah! 10:03 And running so we need to be really active, 10:05 but, you know, God created air 10:07 so that the air moves in a very interesting way. 10:10 The air has weight, and it takes up space, 10:13 and God created animals to fly in that air. 10:16 Have you ever tried to fly in the air? 10:17 No! 10:19 But animals can actually fly in the air, 10:20 and we can build airplanes and spacecraft to fly as well, 10:23 isn't that cool? 10:25 Yeah! 10:26 And we need that same air in order to breathe. 10:28 God gave us everything that we need to have life here. 10:30 And we can have fun with it, and we can build airplanes. 10:33 We can build a paper airplane. 10:34 We can have a Frisbee. 10:35 I think that's cool, don't you? 10:37 Yeah! 10:38 And, you know, every time, we learn more about science, 10:41 we learn more about our Creator, God. 10:50 One, two, three, four, five, 10:55 six, seven, eight, nine, ten, 11:00 eleven, twelve, thirteen, 11:03 fourteen, fifteen, sixteen, 11:06 seventeen, eighteen, nineteen, twenty. 11:10 Ready or not, here I come. 11:22 Hey, I found you. 11:24 That's not fair. 11:26 Why did you do that? 11:27 You weren't supposed to turn on the lights. 11:29 That's the rule. 11:30 Hey, what's going on kids? 11:32 Kiana just doesn't know 11:34 how to play hide and seek, that's all. 11:36 Be patient with her 11:37 because she's still learning the game, 11:39 aren't you, Kiana? 11:40 Well, anyway, it's time to stop playing 11:42 because you know what, it's time for worship. 11:44 Come on, kids! 11:46 What's our story about, Miss Brenda? 11:48 Oh, Jason, I'm glad you asked 11:50 because today's story is a very exciting story. 11:53 It's about faith. 11:55 What's faith? 11:57 Well, Kiana, the Bible says in Hebrews 11:1 that, 12:01 "Faith is confidence in things that we hope for 12:06 and with the assurance of what we cannot see." 12:10 In other words, it's believing in something that we can't see, 12:15 we don't even have any proof of but we believe, that's faith. 12:21 For instance, Kiana, when you turned on the light switch, 12:24 you went and turned that light switch on 12:26 because you believed 12:27 that the light would come on, right? 12:29 That took faith. 12:30 Kiana had faith that if she flipped that switch, 12:33 what would happen? 12:35 The light would come on, right? 12:37 Yes. Well, she had faith. 12:39 Do you know, today's Bible story 12:41 is about a woman that had a tremendous amount of faith? 12:48 Doctor, please can you at least tell me what the problem is? 12:52 Honestly, I don't know how to help you. 12:55 I've done all that I can. 12:58 You need to find yourself another physician. 13:01 But I have been to every doctor in the area. 13:05 For 12 long years, 13:07 I've done everything that every doctor has recommended 13:10 and nothing has worked. 13:16 I beg of you, doctor, please. 13:19 There must be something you can do. 13:22 I can't live like this any longer. 13:24 Madam, I told you that there's nothing else I can do. 13:27 For some reason, God has decided 13:30 to strike you with this illness. 13:32 Now please give me my fee, and I'll take my leave. 13:37 But I'm down to my last few coins. 13:40 Could I pay you later? 13:42 I need money for food. 13:44 I'm a doctor, not a banker. 13:46 Your money situation is not my concern. 14:06 Pay me, woman! 14:24 Father in Heaven, is there no hope for me? 14:32 Twelve years, I've been sick, 14:35 an unclean woman isolated from the ones I love, 14:40 unable to live a normal life. 14:43 I can't even pray in a synagogue. 14:50 I've given all I have to the physicians, 14:54 and I'm not getting any better. 15:00 Oh, Lord, answer my prayer 15:05 or I shall die. 15:22 Wow, she was really sad, wasn't she? 15:25 Yes, she was, Jason. 15:26 But she knew 15:28 that her tears wouldn't make her feel any better. 15:30 So just like she'd done so many times before, 15:34 she just got up and tried to make the most of her day. 15:38 I wonder what's going on. 15:40 Why is there such a crowd of people 15:42 going through the streets? 15:46 Girls, I'm sorry to interrupt, but where's everyone going? 15:49 To see Jesus of Nazareth of course. 15:51 Haven't you heard of Him? 15:52 Oh, yes. 15:54 Tell me more about Him. 15:55 Oh, He's a wonderful man. 15:56 So kind and gentle, He performs miracles. 15:59 He even healed a man possessed by demons. 16:01 He's amazing. 16:02 He calmed a terrible storm 16:04 and healed a man with a withered hand. 16:05 He even raised the dead. 16:08 Healed a man and raised the dead? 16:10 Yes, even raised the dead. 16:11 Everyone loves Jesus. 16:13 He is always talking about so many wonderful things 16:16 like love and mercy and the kingdom of heaven. 16:20 I've never heard of a man like Him. 16:21 They say He is the Messiah we've all been waiting for. 16:24 Oh, please, do tell me, where do I find this Jesus? 16:27 Follow the crowd. 16:29 He is on His way to heal Jairus' daughter. 16:30 But if you'll excuse us, we have to go now 16:32 or we'll miss all the excitement. 16:35 He healed a man and raised the dead. 16:40 I know Jesus can heal me. 16:44 Jesus is my only hope. 16:47 I must go to Him at once. 16:57 How will I know Him in this crowd of people? 17:01 I don't know what he looks like. 17:04 He's here. Yes. 17:06 That's Him. 17:08 That must be Jesus. 17:11 I don't have to bother or even speak to him. 17:14 I know I'll be healed if only I could get close enough 17:18 to just touch his garment. 17:34 Who touched Me? 17:36 Master, in this great crowd, 17:39 how could You ask such a question? 17:41 I mean, all around You, people are pushing and shoving. 17:44 No, I know someone touched Me. 17:49 I felt strength leave My body. 17:53 Master, it was me who touched Your robe. 18:02 And I've been healed. 18:05 You've changed my life forever. 18:10 Take comfort, daughter. 18:12 Your faith has made you whole. 18:14 Thank you, Jesus. 18:17 Thank you. 18:21 Hallelujah! 18:22 Praise the Lord. 18:23 She's been healed. 18:28 And that woman's life was never the same again. 18:31 And all it took was just one touch. 18:35 Do you know she knew that if she reached out 18:37 and touched the hem of Jesus' garment 18:39 that she would be healed? 18:42 Faith is pretty important, isn't it? 18:44 Yes. Yes. 18:46 That's right. 18:48 I have faith. 18:51 Yes, you do, Kiana. 19:12 Our Father 19:16 Which art 19:18 In heaven 19:26 Hallowed be 19:33 Thy name 19:37 Thy kingdom come 19:43 Thy will be done 19:47 On earth 19:50 As it is 19:54 In heaven 20:00 Give us this day 20:04 Our daily bread 20:08 And forgive us our debts 20:13 As we forgive our debtors 20:22 And lead us not into temptation 20:27 But deliver us from evil 20:32 For Thine is the kingdom 20:38 And the power 20:41 And the glory 20:46 Forever 20:53 Amen! 21:04 Amen! 21:11 Amen! 21:25 Hi, boys and girls. 21:26 It's time for Miss Brenda's Book of the Day. 21:30 Today's book is not one, not two, 21:33 but five books 21:34 because they're all part of a five-volume set, 21:38 Miss Brenda's Bedtime Stories. 21:40 And they're filled with true character-building stories 21:43 to help you want to be more like Jesus. 21:46 So I encourage boys and girls everywhere to get a set, 21:49 Miss Brenda's Bedtime Stories. 21:52 Well, I know I have two guests today 21:54 that just told me they love Miss Brenda's Bedtime Stories. 21:56 So I know you will too. 21:58 Let's meet Leia and Dino, all the way from Canada. 22:01 Hi, guys. Hi. 22:03 I'm so glad you're here with us today. 22:05 And, Leia, some people might recognize you 22:08 because I played a scripture verse that you did for me once 22:13 and I loved how you enthusiastically 22:16 memorize scripture. 22:17 Do you think you could say a scripture verse for me? 22:20 Sure. Okay. 22:21 Genesis 1:1-5, "In the beginning, 22:24 God created the heavens and the earth, 22:27 and the earth was without form and void, 22:29 and darkness was upon the face of the deep, 22:31 and the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters, 22:34 and God said, 'Let there be light,' 22:37 and there was light, 22:38 and God called the light day and the darkness 22:41 He called night, 22:42 and the evening and the morning were the first day," 22:44 Genesis 1:1-5. 22:46 Wow! 22:48 That's a lot to memorize. 22:49 Do you have a memory verse too, Dino? 22:52 Let's hear your memory verse. 22:53 John 3:16, "For God so loved the world 22:56 that He gave His only begotten Son 22:59 that whosoever believeth in Him shall not perish 23:02 but have eternal life." 23:03 Wow, praise the Lord. 23:05 It's really good to memorize scripture, isn't it? 23:07 We want to keep God's Word where? 23:09 In our hearts. In our hearts, that's right. 23:11 Tell me, Leia, what do you do to share Jesus? 23:14 Well, our family runs a little Free March Break Program. 23:18 And it's like a Bible school in your home? 23:21 Yes. 23:22 You want to put it right in front of you so they can see? 23:24 Here I am teaching the kids a new song, 23:28 and I think they're really enjoying it. 23:30 Aw, that's wonderful. 23:31 And then you have another picture of a strawberry, 23:35 and this isn't just any strawberry, 23:37 it's a special one. 23:38 So can you tell us about this? 23:40 Well, three years ago, when we first started 23:42 our Free March Break Camp, 23:45 my mom was cutting open a fruit which is the strawberry, yes, 23:49 and she saw a heart inside. 23:52 Look at that, boys and girls, a heart. 23:54 And it was like a sign that Jesus loves you 23:57 and was with you 23:58 and that you didn't have to be afraid or nervous, right? 24:00 Yes. That was wonderful. 24:03 And these two children, they were also very excited, 24:06 mostly more excited to sing than other Christians 24:12 who actually were coming to our Bible camp. 24:14 Wow! And you also have a kids' club at your home too? 24:19 Yes, we were explaining about heaven. 24:21 And one of my friends, she said, 24:23 "I didn't know heaven would be so much fun." 24:27 So now she's looking forward to go into heaven. 24:28 She wants to be in heaven with Jesus. 24:30 Dino, what do you do to share Jesus? 24:32 I share Jesus by making CDs. 24:38 And then we sell them to other friends 24:41 that don't believe in Jesus. 24:42 Oh, so you sing with your family? 24:45 Do you have one with you? 24:47 Let's see. 24:51 And you have a CD too? 24:52 Oh, that's nice. This says, "For Miss Brenda." 24:54 Oh, thank you, guys. This is for you, too. 24:57 This is for me? Thank you, Dino. 24:59 And look at... You sing with your mom and your dad. 25:01 Look at this one right here, how nice it is. 25:04 And you've brought another picture over there, Dino. 25:06 What did you bring? 25:09 And tell me what's happening in this picture. 25:13 We were singing at the retirement home. 25:17 At the retirement home. 25:19 And you're having fun singing? 25:20 Awesome. 25:22 Leia, did you go there too? Yes. 25:24 And did you have fun? Yes. 25:25 And did you meet anybody special or... 25:28 Yeah, we met a few friends who really enjoyed it, 25:33 and one lady said she wanted to hug us all. 25:36 When we do something for Jesus, 25:38 it does not only help other people, 25:41 but it makes us happy too, doesn't it? 25:44 I want to thank Leia and Dino for being with us. 25:47 Boys and girls, that's all the time we have today. 25:49 This time seems to go by so quickly. 25:51 But I want to encourage you 25:53 to do something special for Jesus 25:54 because it's Kids' Time to share Jesus. 26:10 Kids' Time 26:32 Kids' Time, Kids' Time 26:34 Kids' Time, Kids' Time Kids' Time 26:40 Kids' Time |
